Paint Shop Pro... I like the text fade, but I don't like the little stars that are dotted around, I think they spoil the effect... Other than that it's great.

I think this might've been done before, but......OtakuFound.
Red replied to Genkai's topic in General Discussion
I had been going to http://www.theotaku.com for quite a while and saw the link for Otakuboards in the top right hand corner of the layout (as far as I remember), I kept saying "I'll check it out tomorrow" and when tomorrow finally came (a month later :D) I signed up under the name The Elite DBZ (site network I used to own called that) and started to make some excellent friends here, who could actually spell and use grammar, unlike other message boards I had seen. That was version 2 and now I'm still here on Version 6! -
Phantasy Star Online v2 in the UK let you pick your own ISP.. So far I have heard that all GC online gaming is going to be free in England, I don't know about the US though. I'm guessing the reason for it being free in the UK is due to the fact that our government is making a huge push to get all people online with broadband internet access by 2006, and games companies have taken note that most English people are reluctant to pay more for internet services than they already have to.

Sonic ran at a pace that he called jogging, which others called 300 miles per hour. He had decided to leave the group of incredibly slow people, especially Madame Aroma. Pac-Village did not tickle Sonic's fancy, as a ready supply of chili-dogs did not seem to be available. Sonic screeched to a halt, dust and dirt flew into the air as he dug his feet into the ground.. Sonic: Looks like I've reached the edge of the Green Hill Zone.. Where to go now? Sonic looked around, clear water beat against the sands of the beach as he tried to look for land.. Without a map Sonic decided to head for what he thought was Racoon city... He took a few steps backwards and begin to move his legs as fast as he could, before blasting off towards the sea. If I don't go fast enough, I'll drown, so it's time to kick into overdrive! Sonic hit the water, and much to his thankfulness, he didn't sink. Running across the water felt good to him, as the cool water flew into his face, with giant waves being created behind him due to his immense speed. Land! Sonic slowed as he reached the beach, not doing so would probably cause him to have a rather unfortunate accident with the sand bank. Upon reaching the beach, Sonic decides to take a quick breather, running across the water was tough work, he fell to the floor and lay on his back, relaxing by looking at the clouds.. Sonic: Now this is the life, sun sea an--- Before he could finish talking, he noticed a rather large amount of mushrooms with eyes glaring at him... Sonic: What the?! This isn't an art gallery ya know! Get moving! Toadstool #1: H...Ho..How did you do that? Sonic: What does it look like pintsize? I ran! Now scram... I'm trying to relax.. The confused and amazed Toadstool group began to shuffle away, before Sonic began to talk again.. Sonic: Woah woah woah! There isn't a place here where I can get food is there? Toadstool #2: This is the Mushroom Kingdom, we have many places where you can get food, mr.? Sonic: Sonic, the names Sonic. Well, I'm starving after all that running, can you take me to where I can grab some grub? Toadstool #1: Um, yes. If you'll follow us we were going to get something to eat too, Mr. Sonic.. Sonic (smugly): I know I'm very cool and frankly a blast to be around but just call me Sonic.... Hold on a sec? Mushroom Kingdom?! Darnit! Must've ran the wrong way.. Gotta bring a map next time.... I'll get some grub off these guys and leave for Racoon city when I'm done, these little dudes creep me out... Sonic jumped up and struck a pose which startled the Toadstool group, who began to walk briskly towards the innards of Mushroom Kingdom, so they could display their new blue buddy.. Sonic: Any Chili dogs?

OOC: Very sorry for not posting until now, as TheOne said I couldn't get my PC up and running due to a lack of power points, but I crammed it back in after some thinking. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sonic awoke to someone impatiently knocking on his door, he rose slowly, rubbing his head from the previous nights fiascos with friends from the Green Hill Zone. Instantly dashing to the door, he opened it to find a familiar face, although not neccessarily friendly.. Sonic: You would want what? Knuckles: To put it bluntly, I want you and Tails to take me to Racoon city. Sonic stared at Knuckles blankly, he knew Knuckles was interested in seeing the whole gaming world but going to Racoon city was insane, especially with all the stories eminating from there. Sonic: I used to think you were mad, now I know it. Knuckles: Always with the cocky approach eh? Listen, will you take me or not? Sonic: I suppose Tails will wanna take ya, and I'll come along for the ride. Better than sitting around here, it's been mighty quiet since mr. I like egg's got locked up.. You sure you wanna leave those emeralds all alone? You know what would happen if someone got a little big for their boots... Knuckles: I know, but since the gaming world has lost it's villanous population I think I can do a little exploring rather than being cramped up on the Floating Island waiting for trouble with the emeralds.. Sonic: Whatever you say buddy... Tail's isn't here, he's down in the Green Hill Zone flexin' his tails, let's go pay him a visit, catch me if you can! Before the front door had even finished closing Sonic was on the horizon, knowing all too well that Knuckles didn't appreciate it when Sonic ran off only telling him Tails was in the Green Hill Zone, which was by no means small. Knuckles grit his teeth and began to run, following the trail of dust that Sonic left behind...

I haven't been on due to some login problems but hey! I agree with TheOne although Sonic and Knuckles would be able to go Super due to their being 2 sets of chaos emeralds. Would we be allowed to use chaos emeralds?

CWB: Is there any chance of a Floating Island? (Thats where knuckles lives) it could be just above the Green Hill Zone (wouldn't have to be drawn on) and it would give an incentive to buy the plane..

This is the begginning of a story I'm currently writing, which was recently an RPG in the adventures forum. Tell me what you think. Project Silence. For years now the Kagims have been at war with the Silencers. Their lush, green world devastated and drained from the fighting. The war started with the uprising of the Nimas, who didn?t use magic, against the Kagims, who mistreated them. Being technologically superior, the Nimas set up a large group of their most elite warriors, calling them Project Silence, they trained for many years as the war waged on. Now they are ready to fight the oppression of the Kagims and reclaim their world? Chapter 1: A young boy. ?Would Xian report to General Fashems office immediately.? The intercom crackled. Xian rose to his feet, wiping the sleep from his eyes, and made his way to the General?s office. Upon arriving, Xian was greeted with an disgruntled look, the new General obviously had something that was bothering him, Xian thought to himself as he stared at the vein sticking out of the Generals forehead. ?Listen?, the General paused. He looked at his register, and then looked back at Xian. ?Before we continue, what?s your second name? It?s not on my register.? ?I don?t have a second name, sir, I wasn?t named by my parents, they died before they could name me.? ?Ah? the General sighed, he had seen many a young soldier who had their parents killed by Kagims at a young age. ?It says here on my paper that you?ve passed every test with flying colours, is that correct?? ?That it is sir? Xian replied, proudly. ?I don?t believe a God damn word of it? the General said, whilst he tore up Xian?s test results. ?I?ve seen kids pass through here with high scores but this is bull, you have to take every test again, now get out.? The General turned around to look through his cracked window at the new recruits, battling against the assault course. Xian stared blankly at the General, he had passed those tests, fair and square, he thought, if he could improve on those scores, he would start with a higher rank in the Silencers and a better gun. Still finding it hard to jump over the desk and give the General a beating, Xian marched out of his office. That night Xian dreamt of how he was brought up, constantly moving to avoid the Kagims, using anything and everything to fight back. How he watched his cousins die at the hands of a Kagim, and how he was saved by a group of elite fighters, still in training, they had managed to beat back a large attacking force of Kagims. Talking to one of the members, Xian had learnt their name and decided to join the training program. Xian awoke sharply at 5am, ready to train. The morning was cold, and storm clouds were forming up above. Xian dressed in his combat uniform, a black heavily armoured and magic resistant suit. For it?s strength, it was remarkably light. Xian went to the armoury and grabbed his weapons, a heavy duty gun and a sword given to him by one of the Silencer trainees that rescued him that fateful day. General Fashem escorted Xian out to the highest level training course. ?Begin!?

Hehe, I like it. Seems a lot more, how do I put it, "adult" than other Mario stories... Nice.

Fan Subs have changed a lot of the dialogue as well, I saw an official subbed episode and then a fan sub, comparing them I noticed that the fun sub translations were simply wrong...
That the FUNImation episodes are actually decent? Watch the original, and then come back and tell me the same.
Transtic makes a good point here, try downloading a subbed episode or buy one, then watch the same episode dubbed and cut by Funimation, notice the differences, I promise you'll see them.

This is an absolutely brilliant idea for a role-play, must've taken you a long to sort out CWB! How would the level system effect play? Character name: Sonic the Hedgehog Reason for choosing character: I loved the Sonic games, and I'm quite knowledgeable about Sonic, I thought I would make a good part.. My Knowledge of this character: Played every Sonic game fully, except for Sonic CD. (never owned a Mega-CD) I used to read Sonic the Comic over here in England, which would help me with Sonic's personality. I also watched the cartoon show. Starting location of character: Green Hill Zone

I see your point, but those are PS2 shots, and the game isn't even a quarter of the way through completion. I've seen other levels that have been completed on the XBox version that are very lush, green and beautiful, a bit like the starting forest in Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I hope the PS2 version is the same.

Malice was originally exclusive to the XBox and was scheduled to be released (in the US) a couple of months after the XBox was launched in the UK, although a long time on now, it's still not completed. However, it has been revealed that Sony's PS2 is getting Malice too, and it's just as good as the XBox version: She has different types of hammers during the game, such as a kind of plant hammer, which opens up leaves to help Malice glide. Other hammers act as keys and open up doors, although they are also used for a good old bash when Malice encounters an enemy. I think it's great to see a fresh new platformer on the PS2 and the XBox. Anyone as excited as me about Malice?

LOL, john, I think it's a little bare.... Seriously though I like it a lot, especially the way the tentacle is faded into the colours, nice font too. 9/10

DOA:Xtreme Beach Volleyball will be at the top of my list.. lol Seriously though, I've seen a 4 second running demo of Halo 2 and a bunch of stills, it had a lot of enemies on screen at once, and when I say a lot I mean about 100, possibly more. I hope it really pushes the XBox to it's limits in terms of graphics and speed. I do have to mention the stills and video footage I saw of Halo 2 was of poor quality, so maybe it can't have that many enemies on screen at once.

Big Brother is huge in England, absolutely massive. About 8 million (out of 60) voted for people almost every episode. Which is quite a few by British standards. I liked the series, but only late on.

1. I agree, when Fox died in the PSX version of Metal Gear Solid, very emotional. 2. Playing Super Mario World (still am, :D) 3. Playing Super Mario 64's first level, very emotional times for me, lol 4. In Story of Thor, (anyone remember that) the first "spirit" I acquired. 5. When Aries died in FF7, evoked a big sense of shock for me, wasn't expecting that at all. Made me want to kill Sephiroth all the more..

I don't hate the Funimation cuts of DBZ, but when you watch a subbed episode, you see how much Funimation have edited out or changed. Sometimes they have edited out 6-7 minutes of an episode and I've heard that some episodes are being missed out.

Getting shot with paintballs doesn't really hurt, even when you get shot for the first time. The more you build up about it hurting, the less it hurts when you actually get shot. I was worrying about it when I went paintballing and I got shot in the first round, (d'oh) by the time I had walked off the field it had stopped hurting. However, Rico is right, if the paintball hits open skin or it doesn't explode it will probably leave a nasty mark. My friend got hit by a paintball that didn't explode and the bruise hasn't healed for 4 months.

I would like to see how Halo 2 has improved since the last version. Since I wasn't a big fan then, I hope this can change my mind. However, I loved Project Gotham Racing and that screenie you provided looked very nice indeed, if a little similar graphically. I know this is a bit off topic, but I know a guy who went to college with Bill Gates and developed an OS superior to Mr. Gates' Windows, although he couldn't sell it as fast as the now multi-billionaire..

I run a MyIkonboard, which isn't paid for, but it still has a lot of options, and I can fiddle with the skin and html for it. If you are paying for a full Ikonboard, I'm guessing that it has a hell of a lot more options to mess around with.. I think it's a very good idea, I would certainly join...

I know someone with an SG-1 sniper rifle airsoft.. It's quite powerful but still supposedly less painful than being shot with a paintball gun, but I haven't been shot with the SG-1 yet, unlike The One :D I want to get a FN p90 for general shooting, (airsoft) you can get them for around £250 over here, which is about $300.

I don't know if people are incapable of using Live if they have the XBox modded, but I'm sure they'll find a way. If hackers have got so far that they can play Zelda 64 on an XBox...

Orta is supposed to be far more linear than it's older incarnations, which could be bad or very good, we'll just have to wait and see.
