1. Thanks to everyone for comments. Here's Bukaru and the Light form of Rondo colored in. I might have some new piccies up tomorrow. :)
2. OOC: I hope I understand what's going on. :D ~~~~~~~~~~~ Keio gasped in appreciation of Kyukimon's efforts. "Poor thing," she crooned, gently taking the unconscious Salamon into her arms. Haku was watching Keio. And Kyukimon was watching Haku. Keio stroked the Rookie's head until it began to stir. She called to a nearby pair of rabbits, Lopmon and Terriermon. "Please go to that store on the corner and bring me some food." "Yes, Princess!" they chorused together. "It'll be ok," Keio whispered to the Salamon. Haku was watching Keio. And Kyukimon was watching Haku. Salamon blinked its blue eyes, and stared into the face of Keio. "My Princess!" it squeaked, out of fear or excitement, Keio couldn't tell. When the rabbit twins returned, Keio thanked them, and they ran off to share their adventure in helping royalty. Meanwhile, Keio gently urged Salamon to eat. Salamon blinked at her nervously. "Is this really for me?" Keio smiled warmly at her. "Yes." The smile spread to Salamon's face, and the Rookie needed no second bidding. The food was rapidly disappearing. "Easy there," Keio laughed, "I don't want you to get sick!" Salamon paused, crumbs clustered on its cheeks. The Rookie paused so long Keio got confused. "What's wrong?" "You told me to stop, so I stopped." Keio inwardly groaned. "I didn't say stop. I just said slow down. You would get a tummyache and that wouldn't be fun at all for you!" Salamon's eyes lit up. "Wow! You sure do care a lot!" Keio was a little taken back, but answered, "I try." "You're very good at it!" Haku was watching Keio. And Kyukimon was watching Haku. "Oh! I almost forgot!" Keio laughed. "These are my friends. Kyukimon is my protector..." The pink and violet Ultimate nodded curtly. "...and Choromon." "Chip!" the Chormon chirped. "And Haku," Keio smiled. Haku made no motion to recognize the acknowedgement. Salamon snarled. "What?" Keio asked. "What's wrong?" Kyukimon's eyes bore into Haku, and he could feel it. Can you hear me? Please, please help me! Salamon began to bark piercingly. "Salamon!" Salamon would not stop barking. Haku twitched nervously under Kyukimon's gaze, under Salamon's audio attack. Tell them I'm here, please!! Keio decided to use her authority. "Now listen here, Peach--!" "Peach?" Salamon asked in mid-bark. "Your new name." Salamon's ears waggled. "A name? I have a name! I have a Princess given name!!" Peach bounded to Kyukimon. "I have a naaaaaame, I have a naaaaame!" "It's better than Kyutie," Kyukimon replied sharply. Keio laughed, then grew serious. "Peach, I want you to be friends with Haku. Just let him pet you, ok?" Peach's blue eyes narrowed. "Please?" Grudgingly, the Rookie edged toward Haku and offered her head. Haku slowly reached out and placed a shaking hand just about Peach's head. PLEASE YOU MUST HELP ME! With a screaming yelp, Peach tottered backwards. Kyukimon had Haku hoisted in the air by his collar almost instantly. "Kyukimon!" Keio screamed. Haku was watching Keio. And Kyukimon was watching Haku.
3. You are correct, Bremma. Ask away. (Makes me want to go and start over on FF4 and actually get somewhere this time around.)
4. *laughs* Inded I am. I'm too busy downloading stuff for my FF music video project. :p In FF4, we see Cecil (that's his name, right?) doing his weird pose. Easy here: the development of Cecil as a character is the focus. FF5 I've never played. Shame. FF6--oh DANG IT, Tasis, again! *helpless laughter* OK, here we go: FF7. Incidentally, it drove me nuts trying to figure out what the heck a comet had to do with the game. Third disk told all, naturally. But the point is, you think (or I did, anyway), that the focus of the game is Cloud and his true identity. Instead, it seems to be your common struggle between good and evil, Aeris and her Holy Materia (the tiny thing above the comet) and Sephiroth and his Meteor (the large chunk of the logo). FF8: Love story, easy to see. What threw me is that those two are NOT actually in love when the game starts. I think that is why I didn't care for it. It didn't go like I thought it would. FF9: Big crystal. Crystal=Eidolon. And that was the big focus of FF9. Who controlled the Eidolons, where they came from, etc. To a lesser extent, this dealt with Garnet's past. FFX: I was a bit disappointed on this one, for some reason. Early in the game, we see the scene it is taken from, instead of looking back on the logo in retrospect and going, "Oh yeah, that's why it was there." I thought the story line was focused on Tidus, but really, it's all about Yuna, her quest to save her world (not about Tidus getting home), and what it meant to be a summoner. That last part was quite the shocker, too. More later, I'm tired. :p
5. I'll answer your question.
If you have not already gotten it, Belgimine (sp!) gives you both the Aeon's Soul and the Summoner's Soul. Yuna sends her, and now has access to her Moon Sigil.
Another FFX question, hee hee: When switching between characters on the Sphere Grid menu, what order are they presented in (anotherwords, who is the first you see, the second, etc etc)?
6. You left out both FF4 AND FF9. What's wrong with you, Tasis? :p :rotflmao:
7. Of course Sin was easy--once you got past Yunalesca, you finally had control of the Airship, which indirectly meant you now had access to all the buttkicking things in the game. I was looking through my players guide this morning in prep for Yunalesca, and found that only three of the seven characters can actually have their Legendary Weapons and be able to unlock and power them up before fighting her. And Yuna is not one of the lucky three. Also, you cannot get ahold of either
Anima or the Magus Sisters
until you beat Yunalesca. That boss fight is prolly one of the most grueling ones in the game. *mutters* Stupid MegaDeath. Stupid Hellbitten. Stupid lady that doesn't know when to freaking quit! How far has anyone gotten on beating all of the Arena Boss monsters?
8. Heh, weirdos, all of you. :p OK, next up: Have you ever really stopped to take a look at the logo for each game? How does this shift your idea of where the focus lies for the game? (And how many of you sit and wait for the chance to say, "Oh, that's what that logo means!" I know I do. :bluesweat)
9. OoC: Finally back! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Keio tilted her head at Haku. "Are you sure you're ok?" Haku felt his face flush and tried a clumsy bow. "Yes, Princess Keio." This elicited a frustrated sounded sigh. "Don't you start, too." Kyukimon started sharply. "Your Highness, how many times must I tell you--?" "Kyu, enough. If I want him to refer to me casually, then I shall have him do so. He seems to know proper etiquette, and won't make me look bad." She knelt and lifted Haku back up by one hand. "I trust you." Haku still looked funny; Keio was afraid he was going to be sick. "Majesty, the explosion," Kyukimon reminded her. "Oh!" Keio raced to an area that looked badly decimated and still smoking; the rest of the group wasn't too far behind her. "Hello!" Keio cried out, looking around at the area. Kyukimon gently pushed her back, and stood at the edge. "Allow me, Princess." With that Kyukimon leapt into the decimated area. The Royal Guard was distrustful of Haku. She didn't know why but he simply did not come across as innocent as he seemed. Kyukimon was going to have to-- "Help!" a small voice cried beneath some rubble. "Please help me!" The Ultimate paused, and raised her ears. "Where are you? Keep talking!" Kyukimon followed the voice, and found a small pale foot waggling at her beneath broken lumber. "Hold still!" The pale foot withdrew and Kyukimon held her scythe arms high above her head. With a swift, slashing motion, the broken lumber was broken even further. Reverting the scythes back to paws, Kyukimon pushed the rubble aside to find a Salamon. It had passed out just before Kyukimon had freed it. "Princess Keio!" Kyukimon cried as she held the Rookie protectively in one arm. With a graceful leap, she rejoined Keio, Haku, and Haku's Digimon, and held the small bundle out. "Oh my..." Keio breathed. Haku watched it all with careful eyes. And Kyukimon was watching him.
10. This next one has already been put on the Digisite of the Otaku, but I wanted to put it back here again. Again, same base character. Goeka is the Courage one with the "peacock feathers". Veneo (Sincerity) is on the far right, with the pirahna plant heads. Itaku (not to be confused with Otaku) is the (Kindness) skunk.
11. HomestarRunner rox. End of story. ^____^ (Ginny highly recommends that all newbies to that site check out Strong Bad's Spring Cleaning email first.) I'm not going to play Mod, but members will recognize what rule this thread might be breaking.
12. I apologize deeply, but a lot of the RPGs I've been involved in lately have died. As a result, I just don't have any desire to write. I might write something a little later on today, but I need to go to work right now. So sorry for the inconvience.
13. Hmmmm...but she wallops like a (insert worst curseword here) when I brought my Aeons out. They would barely have enough time to pull off their Overdrive before she uber-overkilled them. You got very lucky indeed, Hyper.
14. *claps mightily* Well done, Desbreko!
Though I want someone to tell me how Sephiroth isn't Hojo's real son, physically/genetically/whichever. I missed that part, apparentally. >
15. Ta da! Ursannas got colored today (he's on the far right). The one on the middle--I forgot his name--but he's my new one today. And in the middle is one my DigiPeeps should definitely know. Rondomon! :D Rondomon is the base character for all these monsters you've seen so far.
16. As for the Aeris thing:
Aeris' mother was an Ancient that landed on Earth. She fell in love with a ShinRa person (scientist? not sure), and they had a child. The ShinRa guy knew he had to get his wife and daughter to a safe area, away from Hojo, because Hojo was determined to harness the power of the Ancients, or Cetra. The Cetra also had mortal enemies, of whom JENOVA was one. Both races were so similiar that, when Hojo found the JENOVA specimen frozen in the Northern Continent, he was convinced that he had found an Ancient. He was wrong. Because Sephiroth is part JENOVA (more on that later), it is in his genes to seek out and destroy the Cetra. That included Aeris.
Now about JENOVA:
As mentioned above, JENOVA and the Cetra were both alien races that seemed remarkably similar. If memory serves, the Cetra went from planet to planet, bringing life and magic (Mako) to where they visited; they would then move on. Certain Cetra, however, wanted to settle, and this might have been the start of JENOVA's race--I am not certain. As you know, the Cetra and JENOVA's race are enemies, plain and simple. One day, long long ago, JENOVA crashed into the planet, causing a massive gash in the planet (that may be the crater you see in Northern Continent). The planet began to die from this wound, until the Cetra came to repair it. For some reason, this drained a lot of them and most of the Cetra died saving the planet. JENOVA was frozen into the ice. Much much later, a scientist by the name of Hojo was learning about the Ancients/Cetra and their massive power, and wanted to use that power to make super strong soldiers for ShinRa. When he found JENOVA, he thought he had found a Cetra, which, as I mentioned, proved to be wrong. He instantly began experimenting, placing fully grown humans into small cells injected with Mako and the essence of JENOVA (remember the scene in the Nibelheim reactor of the cell pods? Each one had a hose running from it to JENOVA.). When his specimens continued to mutate (making monsters) or die from the process, he decided to try something else. He injected his pregnant wife Lucretia with JENOVA cells. Sick, I know. His thought process was that, if the babe inside could develop with the JENOVA cells in its body, then the cell pods would no longer be necessary. It worked. Sephiroth was born. And he turned out to be much more than Hojo could have ever predicted. So in a sense, Sephiroth is JENOVA and Hojo's son.
More later, I'm running out of time again.
17. I have to leave for work in a few, so let me cover what I can and get the rest later:
There is a "cutscene" many people miss that explains the connection between Cloud and Zak. I believe you need to return to Shinra mansion and go to the basement again...2nd or 3rd disk, I forget which. Anywho, all those stories Cloud told about how great he was were wrong. Zak was the excited SOLDIER, Zak was the one that accompanied Sephiroth, and so on and so forth. Cloud was a weak level peon (and the Rookie that got sick on the way to Nibelhiem). If I recall correctly (and someone can correct me if I didn't), Cloud and Zak were both caught in the utter desolation Sephiroth caused on Nibelhiem, and after Seph left, Hojo and some of his people showed up. They took both SOLDIERS back into the mansion to experiment on them with Mako. (Tifa was saved by her mentor, who took her away from Nibelhiem. Most of the other villagers did not survive.) If you recall, there are large canisters--large enough to hold humans--in the basement of the Mansion. Cloud and Zak were both kept there, and bided their time until they could break free. I believe it was during this time that Zak told Cloud about his life, hopes, dreams, etc. One day, the pair did break free...but Hojo sent soldiers to capture "his specimens". Zak was mortally wounded, but Cloud survived and escaped. He took Zak's Buster Sword, his SOLDIER clothing, and his identity with him. That's about the time Tifa found Cloud and brought him to Barrett, to help AVALANCHE out.
And that's just for question one. ^___^ Not even all of it, really.
18. Ooo, nifty...watercolor?...effect. Seriously. There's something about the way the image is presented that makes it...nifty. Heh, text it, and you're all good!
19. Keep a watch on both your pride and your emotions. It's a delicate situation--or it will be when it comes to light. There is that problem of just how much he's going to believe you, which is why I might suggest finding someone the both of you can trust to tell him. Make sure you go with this person, though, else your ex really will think you are spreading rumors. The third party can also take care of any --what's the word here?....ah...you know...ah!--moderation (playing moderator), in case either you or your ex should get out of hand, emotionally. Plus, they are just good moral support. At least, that's how I'd do it. (OoC: I'm still fascinated by your dancing banana, Sem...and that soooo just came out wrong. ..)
20. I'll have to agree with Piro here. He reminds me of Serge from ChronoCross, for some odd reason. oO;
21. For my veteran DigiPeeps, these pics may or may not be familiar. The pair are Ursannas and Bukaru (orginally known as Rondomon's Hope and Friendship Armor forms, respectively). (I've been turning a bunch of my ficDigis into monsters of their own rights, so this might become a constant thing. ^^) Anyways, I'll add color as soon as I get a chance. I have art homework right now that I've put off long enough.
22. I wish I had the patience to finish it. >.< Well, there's always that dead time just before art class tomorrow. 'Spose I can do it then. Thanks for the comments!
23. It was all a blur the first time around, what with
Anima
Insta-Killing everyone, so pffft. :p Heh, Square always does that in their games. There's a certain point where you can only go forward, not back. Cunno.
24. Well, if it's only your first time, don't worry. A little practice will get you where you want to be. I recommend trying the words "baka neko" on a search engine and going from there. =) Trust me on this.
25. Just something I doodled at work while on lunch break. Nothing but the head, really...but I decided to leave it at that, for fear of ruining it. So critiques and all that?
