Heh, ok. (BTW, the glitch involves (I think, I'd have to look this up again) wearing the Zora tunic, having the Bomb in the C-left button, back flipping from behind the altar so that you land on it facing toward the gems, and playing Saria's song. When you walk away, Navi will still be hovering over the altar--and the area around Link gets darker without Navi's light.) What is the name of the owl that aids you in Link's Awakening and who is he really?

Heh, duh. ^_^; Ah well, you PMed me about it, sooo...heh.

*laughs at Break* Mock ME, will you? Heh! ;) And there was always the Hyrulian field at night, if you wanted the mosnters to keep chasing you; or the Hyrulian field in the day, and the giant plants would chase you. BTW, how DO you kill those things? I could never seem to hit their weak spot--I'd always get slashed by the sharp root thingies first. >.

Easy there with the final boss talk--thso could be considered spoilers, ya know. Auron+First Strike+Flee+MUCH Hp+Crest and Sigil'ed Weapon=Great Warrior, Easy Game, heh. And yes, I agree that the "heal at the save spot" bit was a little cheap.

Thanks to all of you. What you say makes tremendous sense. One of my favorite managers, Ron *winks at Sara*, is teaching me how to not let people take advantage of my hard working nature, and to not feel guilty when I legitimately say NO. Part of the reason I left the church I grew up in is because Sem said--I kept helping, and they got used to it being my regular nature. And sure, I liked to help, but when it came to them helping me, whether physically or spiritually, as during the time of my uncle's death this past May, very few came back to help me. The whole issue disgusted me, and I viewed the majority of the congregation as hypocrites. Needless to say, I'm a LOT happier in my new church. The problem is that I now look at everyone, and ask the question that started this whole topic--do they like me for the tasks I can do for them, or do they like me for me? Thanks again, all.

Thank you very much, James and Shy. I just wanted to bring this topic to discussion, though, because I avoided a Christmas party on purpose last night. When asked why, I admitted people would rather enjoy me in my "helping you" mode less than my "real me" mode. Makes sense, I hope? I don't want this thread to focus on me--I'm sure there are others who feel this way. And here's another thought--do you think liking a person for what they do vs. who they are is a negative thing? or vice versa?

Mostly, for this time of year, worry is prominent because of the whole "Xmas" rush. (Xmas commerically, Christmas religiously. Sorry, heh.) And that's bad--because people who aren't normally on the road are crowding it, driving terribly with the ever increasing pressure and loss of time they are facing. But back on topic now. *smiles softly*

Is it true that Sony is floundering, and may possibly go under? *quietly freaks out* Please no, please no, oh please no... I have to admit, lately, I've been disappointed with some of the newer games myself. The greater the graphics, the shorter the game. But the replay value also seems to be shriveling. I recently got the new Spyro game, and, while it WAS fun, I frequently found myself saying, "Well, they could have been a little more creative than that." More and more, I find myself returning to the older games, which is good. Spyro 3 is GREAT, and I've given ChronoCross another, well-deserved chance.

--what they do or who they are? Seems like a simple enough question, right? But take some time to think about this. More and more, I feel like people only like me for what I can do for them. This, along with my "social intelligence" thread question, have rattled around in my head for the longest time. So what do you say: what they do or who they are?

I could go on for days on end about what worries me. I'm a chronic worrier, to the point that I make myself (literally) sick with worry. Not fun. I guess I could say I worry about my worrying. That's interesting. But I'd rather spend my time worrying about others--which I do. Staying up until 2am each morning worrying. Again, not fun. To ensure that the word "worrying" will not be banned from the human language, I'll stop--for now. ;)

Nice. I 'specially like the hat. Heh. *shrugs* So I like details. Try a little more shading--you got a good start on shading. I'd suggest being careful about drawing on lined paper--it can cripple (sp?) a good drawing. I should know, I used to do that all the time, and stuff looks a LOT better on unlined paper, if you can get it. All other comments have been mentioned already.

Which member would u like 2 meet in real life?
GinnyLyn replied to Boo's topic in General Discussion
OK, well, I know I WOULD like to meet Sara some day. And Shaun. Prolly the only people I'd feel comfortable around. OOh, and Flora. ...um, and Lance. And Shy. And...DANGIT! Dessy for SURE! *grins* And Deux (sp?) too! Adam, yes yes! Kev too! James, just for heck of it. I dunno Justin or sage too well, but why not? And everyone I met in OBBII, of COURSE! *spends time naming more peoples* (so much for being a recluse. ;)) -
There's a VERY easy, but also cheap, way to beat Jecht. I won't say what because...I dunno how to do the black spoiler thingy. :bluesweat

My PS version made it all the way to the part where the WEAPONs break out of the crater. And for those of you who remember that, you have a LOOOONG story development/flashback you have to go through first. After sitting through that 8 times, I finally gave up and went PS (system and game). Square suggested "downloading" the FMVs to the hard drive, to make it easier for the game, and I don't remember if that worked for me or not. I enjoyed the PS version a lot more. You'll forgive me if I say I have no sympathy, EMU. Both PS and FF7 are selling quite cheaply right now--but if you don't get it soon, they'll be phased out (I should know--I had this problem with Gameboy games). I've always had problems with roms, not to mention the load of viruses they bring with them (I've lost two computers (one gradually, one immediately) to roms and emulators). Save yourself time, space, and pain/trouble, and go with the game.

I'd agree with the small world bit. Still, we need to remember a lot of memory is eaten up in the completely 3D enviroments. And Square let a little pride get in the way by keeping FFX a one-disk game. I still hold that FFX could have been better if it had a little more. A little more character development, a few more sidequests, etc. It has Auron, though--that's the best part! :D And Blitzball annoyed the crapola outta me.

Exactly. That many?!?   Dang, glad I didn't know that till AFTER I retired from the site! That kinda pressure'd drive me nutso. I was thinking in the range of several hundred each day, but heh....and now that Pojo.com stopped doing Digimon, it's more important than ever that theOtaku.com/Digimon catch up.

Heh, funny how my name keeps popping up right next to Sara's. ;) Eh, I'd rather stay behind the comforting barrier of the onlinedness that is the Boards. Why? Three words: acute social anxiety. Aren't I lucky? :bluesweat -
If the animation is anything like what I think it is*, this game's gonna be GORGEOUS. *Think the recent Mr. Clean commercials and the new Kirby (Right Back At Ya) anime.

Scary thought, Break. Heh--fear my tiny sword! *tiny swing!* *Giant Boss grunts in bored anger at you for scratching his favorite talon* :eep: Anyways, the largest concentration of enemies in Ocarina (and the one that drove me nutsy) is the future Market--all the Redead standing around. Unless you know the trick to beating them, they are annoying (and painful) as all getout. (WHOO! 1900 post!)

For those of you wondering about the financial issue, Adam is the one who pays for the site and all. James is still here, and prolly will be forever, as far as I can tell. ;) Don't you see--he's really a cyborg brain that IS the OBs, and infiltrates our very lives EVERY DAY! *shadow steals up behind her, smacks her over head with mallet, and drags her lifeless body away* OK, seriously though, I doubt I'll be here in 3-4 years, so this isn't really a problem for me. I tried to go back to Pojo.com once, but their MBs changed majorly. In all honestly, this is one of the best MBs I've ever been on. We got it good here.

The marsh IS a marsh, and the Midgar Zolom IS a serpent--just not a sea serpent. FYI, heh.

I'm not an Otaku as much as I used to be. Anyways, I made my first appearance a few years back when I was searching for a site--any site--that had good Digimon information (this was about the time S2 has started, more or less). I was sorely disappointed with the sites I found, and the first site I "applied" to, the girl was too lazy to update anything, so in a huff, I ran off to find another one, a sort of "in your FACE, lady!" kick. :bluesweat So first art, then I noticed theOtaku.com needed desperate help in their Digimon area, and I /finally/ convinced Adam to let me update it (heh, one of the first to actually work on his site, I believe). I decided to poke my nose into the OBs, so I could keep my ear on any new Digimon info to keep our site up to date. As far as I can remember, I've been here since V2 (some veterans claim V1, but I don't know). I've had my share of being a mod (ModRod, :modrod: anyone?) and a fan, and now I'm just the eccentric Christian girl that draws really well. ^_^

*Is in FULL agreement with Deus* That's what I was trying to say earlier. He's just better at saying it. ^^

While stronger weapons DO take the fun out of the game eventually, it's still nice to have them. Methinks the Deity mask is more powrful that the Gilded, and takes even MORE fun out of the game (which is why you can only use it in boss areas). The Biggoron sword could also be guilty of this, but you have to go through a lot of stuff to get it--which is hard if you don't know how to do it. And the Gilded Sword itself is a trifle heart-attack-causing hard to get, because you cut your time so freaking close...once it is in your possession, though, blah.... One also remembers the L4 sword from Link to the Past, but considering how things get stronger as you go, your weapon is only rising to the occasion by matching up with the areas you are going to (did that make sense?). In common RPGs, like the FF series, it'd be like picking up some kick-beep weapon (Masamune, Ultimate, whatever), then going back to the L5 enemy areas and complaining because they keel over as soon as you touch them. Mark of the good warrior is being able to handle anything in your way. Ok, now I'm just rambling. :bluesweat
