Kimi nudged Gavin as they were sitting nearby following the argument. She grinned slightly. "I think they might like each other. How charming." "You maybe right." Attention was drawn back to the fight as that Aboyo guy didn't even know what hit him. The explosion was a nice touch though, and Kimi pulled up a semi transparent shadow barrier just incase any miscellaneous mechanic body parts found their way out of the mess. The two demons made their way over to Matt and Ali comparing notes. "Congratulations and all relevant accord," she said casually.

Mae almost laughed through her grin. "You know, roadkill eaters sounds really good about now..." She nestled in a comfortable spot and made sure she had a good view of everything for shooting. Then she fumbled around with the earplugs a bit. "What are those for?" Lilith asked. "Me and the sound of all this stuff don't get along very well." "Do they work?" "I have no idea. Ready whenever you are." Mae was bit nervous, but swallowed the feeling.

Jem dealt impatiently with her last customer of the day, a glance outside told her that the time was growing near, she might as well have missed her chance to get off this hunk of rock. One of those fliers was posted in the window, and through the light the pirate would be able to read it backwards. Her fingers drummed silently on the countertop in the rhythm of an old sea chantey she was taught by the first pirate captain she had ever sailed under. "Yessir, the price has not changed from yesterday, nor the day before. One of the finest compasses this side of the seas." "It still seems a bit off for such a claim?I don't like being scammed," the man said, carefully examining the carvings and mechanics of the compass for the 75th time this week alone. "And I do not like to be cheated out of a deal. If you would like me to play around a tad to make you feel better, then so be it. I had intended to be closed today, and you time grows short as my patience grows thin. This is the last time I offer this price to you, take it or leave it." The woman snapped her head to look at another person eying things a bit too carefully for comfort. Another inspector? Great. The last thing she needed was the Navy or port officials poking their nose in her business at a time like this. She even cancelled a business meeting set for this evening to be able to take advantage of the opportunity that presented itself. Jem longed to be out at sea once more. "You drive a hard bargain Miss Clarice. I yield to your resolve." A bag of coins was set on the counter, and the pirate put on as much of a smile as she could manage. "Pleasure doing business with you, have a fair evening" she said pleasantly as any true shopkeeper would as the two men left. She closed up, and hurried to change into something a little more suited for traveling over seas. ----------- Walking into the bar, she immediately spotted the girl who had posted the flyer in her shop earlier that day about help with a ship. Good, she didn't leave yet. She saluted to the captain and the man she was talking to in a manner traditional to some of the pirates she formally sailed with. "Clarice Minerva, at your service. Reporting for crew duty if help is still wanted."

Kimi's smile shrank into its normal serious expression. Botan finally finished patching up Gavin and the small demon put out a hand to help him up. Well, as much help as she could be considering the height difference. "As good as new," the ferry girl said all chipper although she clearly was sweating a bit from the energy drain. Kimi gave her a look, to which the ferry woman replied, "I'm fine. Don't worry about it." "I'm sorry I didn't quite remember to bring popcorn, but we still have the tickets to this afternoon's match," Kimi said.

Cooper inwardly cringed. Just great. 'I know me. I'm gonna be a smart ass, and get myself killed.' There's always got to be something, doesn't there. All right, this guy was a bit close for comfort. "This your work little lady?" he said with a bit of an accent referring to the dead corpses. "Yea, what of it?" Cooper replied a bit cautiously. "Ah no reason. Just makes my life a bit easier. Now If you'll excuse me and step aside?"The girl shook her head. "And why not Reject?" "My orders." Cooper knew either way she played cards she was going to be in trouble. That was as good as given. "And what orders were those? I am a perfect little lady, do the math." "Already done," the girl replied with more of an attitude then she ment too. She crossed her arms and quoted, "I was told, 'you take care of them two and make sure that no one else gets close to the chopper. We shall be back in about ten minutes.' and I ain't taken no chance. If you'd like to wait 'til then and have this cleared up, be my guest." The perfect grabbed her wrist and twisted her arm behind her back, just short of breaking something. Cooper bit her lip. "Know your place reject." She stomped the heel of her shoe on the guy's foot in an attempt to get loose enough to do something, but missed. The grip tightened, and she almost gasped. Her lip started to bleed slightly. 'Crap. I'm dead.'

Writing all these fun things that happen when writing.
Kuroshin13 replied to Circ's topic in Creative Works
When I write, it's more like I am the one being tied and gagged in a dark, soundless closet while the characters run everything themselves. Everything gets changed. A certain twist I was planning in the one story...well I think my muse threw it out the window and put something else in the works. :animesigh I think of a basic idea of where I want the tale to go, then let the characters run with it, dealing with situations in their own way, their own style. Each one of them is different, revealing tiny bits of info at a time, crossing over another's paths, and not without a few brawls in the process. :animeswea -
Marshmellows!!! I know its sounds a bit random, but there's a valid point. At least for me. I hate it when the marshmellows get all crushed in the bag and half-stick to one another into a goopy, very unapitizing pile and won't let go of each other.

Cooper gazed steadily at the roof. She could have sworn she seen a small movement. The wind passed in her direction, carrying an extra sent beneath those of the dead guards. Jade. The girl immediately barred her teeth briefly. 'Don't provoke me Jade,' she thought silently. She shook her head No, as if the other reject might be watching from her hiding place and take the hint to back off. Cooper turned her body slightly to keep an eye in other directions, but continued to concentrate awareness of the rooftop. She would fight if she had to with no qualms, but only if provoked.

Mae didn't need long at all. She knew just where to find her 'collection'. Picking up the small black briefcase, she headed back over to Diaga to wait for everyone else. "I'm set," she said a bit too chipper. "You going to be ok?" he asked. "Yea, I have a pair of earplugs just incase." Mae tried lamely at a joke. "They've already sent out a team to infiltrate the media, we should be fine in that department. Many of the other civilians have already evacuated the building. But why did they return here, of all places? There has to be something missing from the puzzle."

Kimi looked indolently at the shadows by Matt and Ali. They explode. Cool. But that left the matter of idiotic humans attempting to find out what was going on. She glared from her post, imploring help from the nearby shadows to dim the crowd's visibility. It became as if a severe rainstorm was setting in. Melting into the shadows, she was about to take care of the situation when she stopped short. 'Nice to see you again.' 'Mikko, what brings you here.' 'Watching the fun.' 'Do me a little favor and get out of my head, how about it?' "Very well, little one." Mikko still could not be seen. "What, you will not show yourself? Even with the change in energy?" "I'm not supposed to be here and my time grows short. Just stopped by to say hello." She found herself back where she was previously, without any difference. What was with Mikko? Didn't even reveal any sort of agenda. Wierd. She emerged next to Botan, startling the girl a bit. "You would've given me a heart attack!" "Sorry." The demon turned her attention. "Hello Gavin."

Chrys walked all the way down to the other side of the hall to find her room for the night, still thinking. "I think I get it now. Why we've always been isolated as far as I've known. Why they didn't approve." She laughed bitterly as she sat on the bed. "Now I'm a cast out in two societies." The girl drew out a few things on a couple of parchment pieces before she'd forget them. Glancing back at what she'd done she thought, 'Achilles knows more then I do, I'll ask him in the morning.' Placing the papers on a small table next to the bed, she decided sleep wasn't going to come and just stared at the wall. She blinked back a single tear. 'Sorry Emilio, I don't think I'll ever get used to it.'

The ends justify the means? Fun. She didn't say anything as the two pilots stopped in front of her. "Hey, you aren't supposed to be over here. This area is for official personnel only." Cooper smiled slightly, letting the situation sink in. The two looked at each other, and one reached for his radio. The reject removed it from his grasp and tossed it aside. "Tsk, tsk. Lotta good this'll do ya," she said watching one glance back at the chopper. "Sorry, return flight's been cancelled. I've been told you aren't aloud ta leave." She punched the nearest pilot, then grabbed him by the shoulders and kneed him in the face. With a bloody and possibly broken nose, Cooper shifted and snapped the pilot's neck. The other ran toward the 'safety' of the chopper to return and raise an alarm that the projects were loose. She sprinted to catch up to the taller pilot, engaging in a small struggle. Cooper ended up tearing at his neck with her teeth in the end. She looked silently at the blood. 'Well, you work with what you've got. Certainly not what I would have done a few years ago?' Both pilots taken care of, the girl wiped the blood from her mouth and kept watch for any more trouble while she waited for Aron and Dyru to return.

Chrysanthema nodded. "Sure. I think we all should head back to the city. There's plans that need to be made in the morning." She stood up and stretched. Chrys was starting to grow up a little bit, although faintly. "I don't know about you guys, but I for one want to be ready for anything." (I know its really short, out of ideas at the moment.)

Name: Jem Roally, alias Clarice Minerva Age: 23 Gender: Female Occupation: pirate/smuggler under shopkeeper guise Appearance: Jem Personality: No matter how hard she'll try, there's no way to aptly hide her love for the sea. Her manner may come off a bit demanding and forceful, due to her lifestyle. She's a hard worker, and has no qualms against anyone except to mutinous betrayers. Jem may act a bit shady at times, always with a secret or two. Dispite her upbringing, she has her own thoughts about 'honor' in general. Bio: Unknown. According to word around Torgas she just sailed in on a small boat one day and bought an old shop starting to fall into disrepair. Paid in full then and there too, more than it was worth. The next day she opened under the name Clarice Minerva. Her shop has been under suspicion multiple times. Nothing before then is known. Especially about her life as Roally. Weapon(s): A long sword Rapier mainly, but keeps a dagger hidden well for emergencies

"Right." Mae had met Diaga's glance and for that moment, every receptive nerve point was shut down. It took only milliseconds between then until she was 'back online' as if nothing had just occurred. An automatic reaction. "I'll start over here," she said casually pointing to the stairs closest at the rotunda. The girl poked Lilith on the shoulder. "Just incase I need to say it, keep your wits about ya and try to have a pair of eyes in the back of your head."
-
"I'll bring up the rear," Mae said gesturing to a tag-a-long Eater that half looked like it was trying to follow the group without being noticed. "Don't get lost." "I won't," Mae grinned. "What-?" Lilith started to question. "Here," Mae said pulling out a small knife and handing it to the girl. "Take my extra knife for now, but don't loose it all right?" She turned back to the chaos eater as the others continued on, staring the thing in the eyes. Mae stepped toward it, and it took the bait and attacked. Jumping out of the way and righting herself with a cartwheel, she threw a dagger at its back hitting it square in the back of what should be the neck. It writhed about to scream out, but Mae guided her blade to finish it off. Wiping the blood off, she jogged to catch up with everyone.

Tricky creatures. Lies and deceit, it was a system she knew well. "It might not be of any credit, but I think your friend'll be fine regardless. Besides. All human aspects aside, she's a bat. I read it in a file." "That would still leave the human aspects to consider." Cooper shrugged a 'Whatever' in reply, and kept up her steady pace at a good distance of three steps behind. "Clean up?Why do I get the feeling it's not as easy as it sounds?" It was muttered under her breath, but she could tell from the slight shift in posture that Aron had heard her clear as day as they approached the chopper pad's location.

"You are not the first to say that," Sahanea smiled at Kalysta. "I do not keep a middle name though." She looked up at the cave troll, one hand on the hilt of her sword. It looked heavy, but those appearances were deciving. "So we blind it." "What?" the kid piped up from the one side of the group. "These things are not often seen above ground, nevermind for long periods of time except for hunting during a dull season or in a naturally dark enviorment. Hence a sensitivity to the sun and bright sources of light. How strong, I do not know."

It was a dark, sightless, dreamless sleep. Chrysanthema was partly aware of what was going on although nothing clear-cut was registering. Despite the fire her body shivered, and she almost dove back into the dark depths. It was still a short while before Chrys came around, but she did. Slowly. "Thanks," she mumbled a little out of it. Sitting up, the girl yawned behind her hand and blinked a couple of times. "I'm sorry, we waiting on me?" she asked. "Not exactly." "Ok." It would still be a little while before she was back to normal, but for now she was doing all right. She bit her lip slightly at the sudden return of her nervous system. "Any plans need to be made? I think we should lay low for a little while at least."

Devlin rode beside Torran, not really joining in on any of the conversations between the others. The town of Fonrea, about a days ride. That meant most likely a night at an Inn and continuing 'pursuit' in the morning. Something ahead caught Devlin's attention. Dark and shapeless. Drifting skyward and threatening to pass in front of the sun. "Torran, is that-" "Smoke." "Perhaps we should hurry."

Sign Up Rune Hunters- All at Sea <PG- V,L, Dark Themes>
Kuroshin13 replied to PWNED's topic in Theater
Name: Ash Kilnsmoke Age: The human equivalent would be around 21-23 Gender: Female Race: Dwarf Class: Blacksmith Special Skills: Self proclaimed best wood carver currently outside of Thunderhelm and knows how to make one nasty spirit, her favorite drink. Weapon: her trusty ax, Hanmarhed Appearance: Short with all the general traditional traits of her race, Ash has a light auburn hint to her otherwise cranberry hair. She often disguises her voice a bit to fool others into thinking her a male, so that the typical woman stereotype would not play a factor. Standing at a whopping 3'11" and a smidgen on the stocky look, she has the entire prowess of a warrior. Biography: The Dwarven female was traveling with a companion of hers and best friend. Both adventurers. Her friend had come into possession a while back of a minor elemental rune with no significant power. The two didn't even know which element it gained its power from. A small band of Rune Hunters approached them in a tavern and made clear what they were after. Ash had challenged the men to a drinking contest of the strongest class. Of course, the dwarf easily drank them under the table. What they didn't plan for was another group waiting outside in ambush a bit away. Attacked separately, the hunters killed Ash's friend and took the rune. The Dwarf traveled alone for a while, ending up in Southport where she 'settled down' for a while. -
"If we travel in a straight line, there would be no turns to find danger behind," Sashanea said lightly as sure enough the door slowly slid to one side before catching beyond sight. She got a couple of looks, but wasn't paying attention. Damn, it was dark in there. The elf looked back at the forest, then at the now open passage. More then likely there was much greater danger than a pack of Kalsins or most other predetors that could be found in Darkwood. Expecially with a warning like that. "Dark, scarey, high death possibility, I vote that we continue."

Cooper let a quiet sort of almost growl like sound escape her breifly at Dyru's comment. Nonetheless, she stood still and waited with arms crossed and an impassive look on her face. She pulled out a ring of keys to entertain herself with. Looking at all of the different keys, the girl was a bit curious as to what they went to. Most likely other cells. But there had to be a few locked doors around with something interesting behind them. Oh well. The ring of keys found itself back in a pocket as Cooper sat down on the steps of the building.

"Just hope that thing didn't break skin just now. Even dead, it can still be infectious." Mae said to Chase as she came around the nearby corner at the edge of a row of lockers. "Where were you?" Diaga asked. "Sorry, I got a bit tied up just after everyone forgot about me." A flash from a knife reflecting the hallway light was visible for a split second as she put it away. Before looking at the group."How much do they need to be filled in?"

'That Bitch,' Chrys thought bitterly. Her palms were pressed against the ground while she was on her knees. Slowly but surely the pent up anger was subsiding, along with the energy boost it had given her. She shivered slightly, followed by a sneeze. 'Damn, I caught a cold.' Exhaustion took over from the mixed feelings of before, and she clenched a bit of dirt between her fingers. "Is...everyone...all right?" The demon barely had time to glance around at her freinds or feel the pain of her own injuries before her eyelids grew too heavy to hold up any longer. "I'm...dead, tired..." she fell asleep.
