I bought this weird thing on amazon called labyrinth of darkness. I bought it because I thought it my be creepy. Little did I know that it was claymation (Tool videos and The nightmare before Christmas were both claymation albeit they were both better quality). The thing had little stories on it and some were better than others. There was very little dialogue but the mere images were quite...disturbing. I really liked it overall. Anyone else seen or heard of this? Apparently there is a whole group of folks making these kind of movies in the Czech Republic.
Wow I didn't know there was 2 Amon Amarths Avenged? Boy the lawsuits there must be.[/sarcasm] So I see that Amon was your third favorite and your 4th facoirute and you ugh, I'm conufzzled. Tonight is the night I go D shoppin! May god bless me and FYE with Agalloch!
Yeesh I fixed it. Oh and buy Committed to a Bright future by Dog Fashion Disco...
What do Ensiferum and Amon Amarth have to do with each other?
Amarth is my third favorite metal band. Or was. Now it's forth in place of Ensiferum. Anyway I listened to Electric Wizard for about an hour and a half on the way to school today. I see where he gets the doom thing from...they do play slow most of the time.

The Extreme/Heavy Music That Isn't Metal Thread!
I don't like 10,000 Days. It's just not a great album. The music isn't bad, technically, it just isn't good to listen to. i only ever listen to it by forcing myself. Lateralus is fantastic, Aenima is great, and Undertow isn't bad, but 10000 Days is totally meh.
Why do you think it' meh? Beacause it sounds different?
A Perfect Circle sucks too
Because? I their amazing and they have sold a lot of albums...
haven't givven Puscifier a chance yet but I don't really care to
They sounds like NIN mixed with Tool so yeaaah.
. Mostly, I've been listening to all tha bands who are connected to A Sound of Animals fighting since they are all quite awesome.
Huh? -

Well they are Hard just not necessarily metal. They don't fit the currently existing genres. Wiki says they are Avant Garde metal buuuut well you know that wiki is wrong most of the time. If I were to classify them I would call them Industrial/Art Hard Rock. They use wacky *** instruments and use common instruments weird. You gotta check em out. Anyway Tool is sex. !0,000 days although not all the Tool fans like it I love it. Vicarious is probably one of my favorite songs. It's so intense. It took parts that I liked from disghutipated added some other awesome stuff and then put it in my ear. Jambi is probably my favorite song. Probably the closest Tool will ever have to a "love" song. -

Man someone SERIOUSLY needs to listen to Dog fashion Disco(I'm talking to you Prem). They are probably the most innovative rock band Ive heard since tool... they do this one thing during one of their songs where they sorta sound like metalcore but with carnie music in the background and the lead signer starts signing like a crazy man(sorta sounds like Serj minus the accent). -
Yea but Apparently some people call them the "heaviest band in the universe" which makes me shake my head(in a bad way). Sure I can headbang to some of their harder riffs but the hardest band in the universe? But they are still hella good. Vinum Sabbathi has a bad *** intro. Oh and THE WIZARD!!!

Lulz I heard of them by checking out Serj Tankians myspace. Apparently that is what he is listening to now. I have only liked Walls of Jericho so far. To be fair I have only heard 3 songs from them. They have really nice melodies and can make a nice atmosphere. Almost similar to Vivaldi(a classical musician). -
Oh OK my mistake then. Oh and if you want some bad *** Doom/Stoner Metal check out Electric Wizard...they are Sex(and they still make music so they are current too). Ensiferum is amazing...I think I am liking them more than Amon Amarth now.
-
Fair to the Midland is Metal? Doesn't sound like it to me...but to be fair I have only heard one song. Anyway still need those suggestions fellas! Oh and Gozu...I personally can understand why you said what you said and why you didn't read the entire thread(it's pretty long). I have a lot of friends with the same general attitude as you. But well if you look around you can find a lot of amazing metal bands who really push the envelope.
-
In my eyes metal is dead, because not too many metal bands these days bring something new
Uh oh.... Anyway I just gotta new Ipod touch and I don't have much metal on there...maybe like 20 bands roughly. So I wanna spice it up a bit. I need a FAST(like dragonforce+) Thrash band A great Black Metal Band(one that sounds like Old Mans Child) And something Sludge All preferably stuff you can pick up at best buy.
What I am up to is reading Tsubasa and watching the latest episode of Blood+. The thing is not a lot of people know what those are. It is so sad.:nervous:
Actually both of those are pretty popular. Tsubasa is by clamp so it's gonna be popular...and Blood+ is on adult swim not to mention the fact that it is a continuation of a movie that was hugely popular(in the anime community at least).

Kamichu ep 9-10 If you combined spirited away with My Neighbor Totoro and turned it into a series this is the series that combo would make. It's SOOO awesome....It makes me sad Geneon is gone. :animecry:

I didn't wanna be a jerk so I really didn't say anything...I am thinking he hasn't read the thread and is confused about metal or he was joking. Anyway has anyone here listened to Acid Bath? They are so sex. I love Cassie Eats cockroaches sooooo much.
I disliked Leon from season 2, but I loved May
It's the other way around for me I hated May(still do) but Leon was always awesome in my opinion.
and there was also more of Rosetta.
Which I thought was good until she
got more attention than Sora

Plus,
the Angel Act is so much more awesome than the Legendary Great Maneuver.

I waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay disagree there.
The Legendary great maneuver was utterly epic to me. It's was equivalent to the first time I saw a person get decapitated in an anime with full gore.
-
Iv'e seen season 1 and 2 now...yea this show is SEXXXXXX. Well actually I think the first season is better than the second season. The second season they start using like....Circus 1337 Sp33k which got annoying after a while. Both are 5 star anime though.
Thinpaks for both seasons of Kaleido Star are out, so she should be able to get it pretty cheaply (and without having to search for the separate DVDs). ~Dagger~
Damn I was gonna say that... Anyway that is probably the best and most economical choice to make. In my humble opinion I think it is a modern day classic...
-
I thought the proper name for that genre was Electronica... Well anyway I listen to things with industrial elements Daft Punk and some house on occasion. that's pretty much as far as I go.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kh7A6niRbFo&feature=related Steel Angel Kurumi will always have my favorite intro. It's amazingly cute through and through without being moe...It has Kurumi and the gals dressin up in different stuff...all amazingful! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nUeQtvO8mI Then theirs sexy cyper punksish .Hack intro which puts that song in your head whenever you watch this intro. You know you love it... Those are the top two I adore...
I didn't think Evangelion was all that great myself. Yeah, it's got the psychological stuff going on, which is kind of interesting, and you can analyze it all to hell. . . . But it wasn't actually very entertaining. (Though it probably doesn't help that I'm not a fan of mecha in general.) I can't blame her for not being interested in buying it.
I thoughts the fights were entertaining. Nothing like a Z.O.E or Gundam fight but entertaining none the less. There is something their for those who aren't into pondering the meaning of the show I think.
-
Well Kaleido star is probably the most entertaining of the shows up their. It is pretty ispiring. Cowboy Bepbop is a classic and so is NGE. NGE is cheaper though so you should pick that up first then Cowboy Bebop(although I think Cowboy Bebop is better). I would try Boogiepop Phantom before I tried Lain if I were you. Here's what you should do get the first season of Kaleido star and get NGE first since they will likely be the cheapest. Then once you finish them try boogiepop and if you aren't confused try lain.
And Avenged, I agree, A Right to be Hostile is much better, and I think the jokes have progressively gotten weaker with time, as I've seen some of the more recent comics (my newspaper unfortunetaly doesn't carry the boondocks) which weren't that great, mostly for the same reason that I haven't been enjoying season 2 of the show nearly as much as the first one - the jokes started getting reused a lot. You can only poke fun of black America for so long before you run out of things to make fun of and a lot of stuff has to get reused.
But that's the way things go huh? Can't stay fresh forever. All in all I think Arons career has been a successful one and he has influenced pop culture quite a bit. Who knows he might make something amazing in the next few years. The driving force behind the show and comic in my opinion is Huey more than anything. Some of the seemingly outrageous things that happen in the series are put into perspective by him and sometimes reign true. Believe it or not I am recognizing ***** moments in my day to day life... Man the boondocks kick *** (whether you think it's anime or not you gotta agree with me there).
-
Well I watch plenty of anime...and I still consider it anime...but I guess I'm not "otaku" so whatever. Boondocks Public Enemy #2 Pretty solid. Not as funny as a right to be hostile. Some of Aarons Jokes aren't as subtle as hostile which takes away from it. It sorta changed my view on a few things politically...and BET officially sucks...
a style of animation originating in Japan that is characterized by stark colorful graphics depicting vibrant characters in action-filled plots often with fantastic or futuristic themes
That's the Merriam Webster dictionary definition of anime. Is the Boondocks not colorful and action filled?
-
People use the term anime in different ways and people have different thoughts on it's actual definition. People argue about it's definition on forums all the time so I think we should be a little open minded when someone says the boondocks is anime...I mean it's not like you can actually prove him wrong...

Man I really hate when bands have one SUPER AWESOME song and then the rest of their stuff is average or poor. Examples Green Jello-Three Litle Pigs Great song in my opinion...but all the other stuff from them is boring to me... Motograter-Red One of my favorite songs...but it's the only one that iv'e heard from them that sounds like that...the rest of it sounds like boring old 3 days gracish kinda stuff(they have a few good songs to but one-x was crap). Oh yea and Prem Sorrow is an emotion... Also music doesn't just have one purpose...you can use it for many different things.
