It's not the label/group/clothing/music, etc, it's the person who is fake. lol
I thought that was kind of a given. Man I hate using fake that way. The most annoying people I know love to say "I hate fake people so much zomg zomg zomg" I don't really observe them that much so if they are "fake" or not I don't know. but usually the person pointing the finger is the one with the problem.
Labels are useless here, what group, style... blah, blah, blah and so forth is just pointless. You enjoy what you like, you dress how you like and for the most part, people aren't one or the other, but a mixture as Korey just stated. People who are fake, are regardless of what group they are in or consider themselves to be in. It's not the label/group/clothing/music, etc, it's the person who is fake. lol
If that's the case what are we talking about here. I am really confused now.

Bah I am not in a metal mood right now so I will look it all up tomorrow. Is there a such thing as like a metal band with reggae influences out there?
-
I wear hip hop clothing and listen to metal core. Do I get an uber poser cookie? I think it's fine to do something someone else does because you see it and like it. It's not OK to do something else someone else does just to fit a certain mold.
Everyone loves the Beatles whether you are mainstream or an individual.
Funny story and a good example of a poser. A girl was wearing a Beatles T shirt on a field trip. I asked her if she enjoyed the Beatles. She said no. I said have you even heard a song from the Beatles. she said yea. I asked her which one. She said back in black... She was fitting the pseudo "Rocker look" that we have going on at our school.
I don't get how you can compare their new and old stuff when it all sounds the exact same. They've basically written one album over the course of 20-odd years, based on what I've heard. In any case I don't mind them, but they aren't worth talking about really...
Whaaa? Listen to their newest album and south of Heaven and then tell me that... Anyway Dimmu Borgir is really good. I gosta get me a CD sometime soon.
-
Hmm I was wondering why so many people in the metal community hate Slayer? I mean besides their new stuff you seem like good legit thrash to me. Oh yea and I heard some Dimmu Borgir while I was searching for a new avatar. Pretty good stuff.

I generally will give anything a look. Whether it be mainstream or like...individual. but like the goth thing and metal thing is really popular to. But compared to the people around me I am really individual...but that's because everyone is like really similar in everything. So basically
I just do whatever the **** I want, period.
How Did You Come Up With Your Screenname?
Panache replied to duorocks17's topic in General Discussion
I was listening to Avenged Sevenfold at the time and I was under the impression that 666 was cool at the time. Hence the name Avenged666fold. I have since changed my mind. -
Today, I went to FYE and bought Wiht Oden on our Side by Amon Amarth. I tortured my mom by listening to most of the album in her car, and I'm quite impressed. Luckily I got 3 dollars ofusing one of those discount cards they sell during the sports seasons at school. Which is cool because it comes wiht teh bonus CD with a couple of great songs on there. I still think Cry of the Blackbrids is an awesome song. But I also love Prediction of Warfare, With Oden on Our side, Hermod's Ride to Hel- Lokes Treachery part 1, and under the Northern Star. The album is beautiful beyond that. I was going to buy a Dimmu Borgir album, but all they had was In sorte Diablo, which IMO is not very good, from the sogns I've heard.
You didn't pick up any Torture Squad or Dog Fashion disco? :o Bah I have no one to fanboy with.

I've been listening to Macabre. Man their songs are funny... the Cat Came Back is probably the funniest I heard so far.
The only thing pointless to the argument or rather differing opinions between the two of you was this bit you tacked on here. It wasn't necessary since now you're just being argumentative for no reason at all other than to argue. You stated what you thought and Neuvoxraiha pointed out that she wasn't just tossing stuff out there without some form of knowledge on the subject. So lets leave the snipping out of this.
I am trying to end an argument. What is argumentative about that?
I think if people say they hate someone but wouldn't hurt them, then it's not hate they feel, rather something inbetween.
Well it could be that they fear for themselves so they don't wanna hurt them rather than they actually do care enough not to hurt them. Like I would love to kill this guy I hate. But I wouldn't be able to live with myself(not because I killed him but because I am now what I hate) and I know I would be punished by society.

Huh well I guess I like to give homeless people drugs then.*shrugs* Giving money to the homeless people asking for it seems like the right thing to do at the time. It's a more of a casual jester of care than a omg let me help you thing. I never really looked up the statistics of homeless people with substance abuse problems. And I never really cared. But now that you told em to me....I think I still am going to give them money if I feel up to it. Call me crazy to think the homeless guy might buy food with the money.
I like giving money to registered faith based organizations that have a tendency to help lots of people and not just pocket it and go buy crack. I mean cake. How do you expect homeless to someday be non homeless when you're supporting their parasitic lifestyle? I mean if I wanted to loose monstrously large amounts of money, I'd just toss it off a bridge. Giving money to homeless people is like standing on a balcony over the pit of hell and tossing in damp sponges.
You don't know why their homeless. They could have a drug habit or a drinking habit or life could have severely kicked them in the balls. I trust the homeless person more than I trust any organization. People come up with scam organizations every day. How do you know your money will actually get to these people? Really both of us are using a smidgen of faith here are we not? And to be frank if they wanna waste the money I gave them thats fully and entirely their business.
And I do agree with Raiha, when I hate it's equally divided between the people.
I heard that from somewhere...isn't that from a Slayer song? Anyway Hate comes in degrees for me. There are people who do things that piss me off but rather than call that hate I will just say I dislike that persons actions. If they consistently do it I will start to hate the person. And you know some days I do hate everyone until someone snaps me out of it.

I like giving money to the homeless. When I visited New York there were a bunch of fellas play all different sorts of music while I waited in line for the Statue of Liberty. I figured they were doing me a favor so I would give em some cash. Even if they aren't playing an instrument or anything I still like to give though. I like to think I am making some level of difference. Even if he does go buy booze that's none of my business. I would volunteer at a soup kitchen or something but...to be perfectly honest I am too lazy for that. Plus if I made some sort of commitment I would probably forget about it.

Quite recently I have become introduced to the works of Bob Marley. Soooo I need more now!! what' re some artists or groups you can recommend to me? I have only really tried to listen to Bob Marley so I am really new to this. Maybe someone who sounds like him and has a similar message? At least to start.
Now, that doesn't mean I think hate is a good emotion
There is no such thing as a bad emotion in my opinion. Emotion can lead to negative things sometimes but that doesn't mean the emotion itself is bad. Hating something something evil is not bad or negative. Like I hate the action of murder. It's brutish violent and stupid. Merriam Websters dictionary defines love and hate as this. Love
strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties (2): attraction based on sexual desire : affection and tenderness felt by lovers (3): affection based on admiration, benevolence, or common interests b: an assurance of love
Hate
intense hostility and aversion usually deriving from fear, anger, or sense of injury b: extreme dislike or antipathy : loathing
My personal definition of each word is different than Kams. I use the term love in a couple different ways. When I greatly enjoy something or I like something a lot a say I love it. When I think about my close friends and family I think to myself that I love them. When I think about it like that I mean that we have a strong almost unbreakable bond between us. Then of course there is making love...which I don't say much because I think it beats around the bush. I am sure we all know what that means. I use the term hate pretty loosely. And I honestly don't see an issue with that. Whenever something or someone does something I really really don't like I say I hate it or them. I use it in the sense of a strong dislike. Not some everlasting dislike and attempt to destroy someone or something. And I often use the word in a playful sense. Like when my friend went to a Porcupine concert(he lives in Scotland and I live in the U.S.) I was jealous so I said I hate you. Not a big deal. I was joking. So thats my view on the matter.

In that particular situation I would probably help. But like...if the person is perfectly capable of handling himself he can go ahead and do it. I mean if it was a healthy middle aged man no I wouldn't have stopped. I help people when I see there is real need and I can actually do something about it. And of course I would judge that on a case by case basis. Oh yea and the Drunk guy trying to drive...if he wanted to go out and get wasted he should have had the foresight to come up with a method of getting home without him driving. so if he gets in trouble or hurts himself it's his own damn fault.

No Quarter-Tool An amazing song just like when it was written by Led Zeppelin. I have to say that although the guitar and drum is worse than Zeppelin the Vocals and Bass are better in my opinion. Overall it seems to have more power and feeling than the original. No quarter-Led Zeppelin Now although I like theTool version better I still like this song. It is less dark than tools version which is a plus for me. Like I said before better guitar and drums.

I can't believe what this thread has turned into...stop letting Gwen Stefani anger you!

Please Twins Watch it now!!!
Ah, so you watched Haruhi in chronological order... For the record, episode 6 is the ending in broadcast order. ~Dagger~
Yea I figured that out when it was over. I thought the series was fine in the order it was in. It went from like intense sci fi to cool slice of life almost seamlessly. When the Lucky Star dvds hit the U.S. I should pick em up.
-
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya ep 13 Slice of life ending to a sci fi? What?Well overall it was good. So I have no complaints. not worth the hype in my opinion though. With Hunter Robin 5-6 These little mini plots are interesting but I am hoping they connect soon.
I think it's funny how you think Japanese celebrities are pretty if you're so against "fake-***" beauty. Congratulations, you like the most superficial, painfully fake, and plastic surgery-filled celebrities in the world. Have a super-fun kawaii time.
Epic Burnz!!!

Really? Are we turning a thread about Gwen Stefani into this?
