It's because rap is infesting rock. Bands like Linkin Park that are getting popular are trying to rap inside rock and that honestly pisses me off. Also rap was the creator of Hip Hop, another infester.

I dont' know about the people here but if my parents said don't do this I wouldn't, mainly because they had the power to punish me.
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel If you read that paragraph, you'd see I wasn't even talking about Kazaa. I said they should go after these FTP people more and not concentrate soley on random idiots downloading crap off of peer to peer stuff like Kazaa that just don't know any better. Besides, they aren't just targetting Kazaa, which would be obvious if you read their subpoenas and other things they send out. One of the people they went after in the past was running some sort of server in his dorm room.
They're focusing on kazaa a lot more now because the only people that get busted are the ones running the ftp in america (which is assuming the owner knows it's even going on), it is much more fear invoking to go after the people that download the files.
Now yes, most people do get their stuff of Kazaa and the like... however, 90% of leaks and such originate on some FTP and wind up on Kazaa very, very quickly. On top of this, on Kazaa you're lucky to find anyone that has a full album of anything. Whereas FTPs generally have entire discographies you can just leech off of there. It's not that small of a market, and it's more of a problem in terms of that then some random kid downloading a couple boy band songs.
Most leaks do come from the warez groups, but they dont' care about that mainly. They care about people like the ones stated in the article downloading thousands of songs and most likely sharing them. Once again though, it doesn't matter that much with ftp's because not a lot of people know what a ftp is. You might not think you're computer savy but to a good majority of people you are compared to them.
If you find an original of a newer CD on Kazaa is ends in something like FNT (which would be the group releasing it) or whatever else and generally has underscores instead of spaces. So I'm not sure how what you said disproves what I said.
I'm well aware what a warez group is, and I'm well aware that most of the mp3's on kazaa are not from groups.
So I'm not sure how what you said disproves what I said.
All I'm saying is that going after individual people to invoke fear in all the kazaa downloaders (assuming it works) is much more affective than taking down the groups that release them.
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel Personally, I don't think the problem is really the people who share lots of random stuff. The problems seem to be those warez groups that get most of these CDs out online weeks ahead of time, or these FTPs that seriously have around 1,000 complete albums on them. If you look around, they're not hard to find. The RIAA also goes after these people to an extent, but I'm not getting the picture that they are going after them as much as they should. They are the problem.
You had a good arguement until you said this. Most of the stuff you see on kazaa is not from a warez group, but stuff ripped from people themselves. Most people get their mp3's from kazaa, some get it from mirc, and even less get them from ftp's. The RIAA knows that if people stop using kazaa and that other stuff, music piracy would plummet a lot.
I also know some random person is going to say that record sales are up despite this. I don't know what you read, but they're down like 30% on average right now.
I'm guessing they meant that they're up if you consider that they cut the amount of albums released by 35% or something like this. There was a study that stated it but that was a year ago or so. I think if they just lowered the prices of their cd's piracy would lower a lot. I find it completely stupid to pay 20 dollars for I don't know a linkin park cd and enjoy the 2 or 3 good songs, the 4-5 decent songs, and the rest crappy songs (if that album even had that many) when I could buy a DVD and watch it for an hour and half, watch the commentary, and watch some extra features. And if it's a good movie I could watch it again and again.
Originally posted by Rain I can understand why your parents are so paranoid. Almost all of the media about the internet is negative, and for someone who is computer-illiterate, that must freak them out. The internet is daunting if you're inexperienced with it.
Not really. There are some very sick people in the internet and if they find out you live near them, you just don't know. It's never a real smart idea to just go around telling strangers your name, number, and adress anyway.

My dad is a computer consultant and my mom works on unix databases. They are kinda computer savy. Their basic rules were A)don't give out addresses, B) don't ever meet someone from the internet. It's worked out good for me.
Originally posted by yogi bear For everyone that does not like Apocalypse's Egyptian look he eventually enhaces himself. {SPOILER 90'S VERSION } Apocalypse was the very first mutant ever he's super strong, he can last without food or water for weeks and no one from Eygpt could kill him so they locked him up eventually Mystiquefree's him and teams up with him then he recruits more mutants and enhance thier powers they become the 4 Horsemen.{including the angel he becomes the leader Arch Angel} after Mystique free's him he enhaces himself to the cool looking blue guy. then the X-men try and stop him with no use they can't touch him so they retreat later a dude named Cabel come and tell the X-men that Apocalypse takes over the world in the future and he tells he has a weak spot on him that can weaken him [thats all I looked up on Apocalyspe I could find out if they even killed him]
They never do kill him. Well they do but it's a couple of thousand years in the future, and this is excluding the Age of Apocolypse.
90s show was still not comic book continuity. If he did, I won't be surprised, but I don't remember it being mentioned. When Cap would have been fighting, I believe he was undergoing Weapon X treatments.
That's basically what I was thinking.
Originally posted by Silent Well. . .actually. . .Logan did fight with Cap,and in the exact period that Evo depicts.
I dont' remember reading that in a comic or even hearing about it ever. You sure he did fight with Captain America?
-
Originally posted by yogi bear Of course I love the 90's ver of X-men {gotta respect the classics } but I like X-men Evo is better it's more deep.
The 90's X-men is a lot more deep than Evolution. I guess you just don't remember that well.
Example with Wolverine you really never known were his past was in the 90's but in X-men evo you really find out he is as old as he looks, and he fought with Capitan America in World war 2, and the love triangle with Cyclops, Jean, and Worlverine to me was'nt all that {mabye because I was about 6}
Alright well first of all Logan never did fight with Captain America, and in the 90's one they did show a lot of past actually. A lot more than they did in Evolution.
Right when it said mutant archive or whatever I made sure to look for noticable names, there it was.

Honestly I don't know how anyone can like it and how it's gotten to be so popular. I watched a few episodes and they weren't really funny, and this was before the huge craze set it. Did it become insanely funny sense then or something?
Originally posted by WW2 But I do think they screwed up Apocolypse's design. He just looks like something out of Yu Gi Oh.
That's what he did look like before he assumed that big goofy grin form.

Wait, you call him a wimp for taunting you with a slap and then you say "i'm calling the police." Sounds like he was the winner here.
-
I enjoy the show. I don't care if it's close tot he comic books because the comics can have some of the dumbest most confusing plots ever. I don't know what to think with the new Apocolypse thing,
they already had him blow up magneto
and made him look pretty much invincible so they better come up with a good explanation and not something like "oh we found this magical wand and it banishes him hurr"
Originally posted by Silent Well,I read about six reviews of the movie in various newspapers and such and all six referred to the movie as being "Less than intelligent, but still entertaining."The general complaint of the six reviewers was that the movie was hard to follow and they made several refrences implying that the first movie had the same "problem."I suppose I could be over-generalizing. Anyway, they can do just about anything they want with the movie,I don't care,so long as it stays true to the X-Men and doesn't wander off into some overrated,cheesy,made-only-to-milk-the-frachise direction,I'll be happy.:babble:
It's ironic that they say it's less than intelligent and say it's confusing. As for Nightcrawler being religious, in the comic books I'm pretty sure they find him in a monastery. So they didn't make that up out of thin air, but he was never ever that preachy.

I find this very true. At our school there were constant fights broken out over people dissing each other's backpacks and other general nonsense.
Originally posted by doukeshi03 Alright here goes... Accident Claims and firms who deal with them. How do you justify getting £5,000 just for falling over at work, seriously, it's getting ridiculous. Do you think that it's right for people to claim large sums of money for work related accidents or road accidents. Or better yet, suing. Don't you just love the lawsuit, it's going to get to the stage that you could sue me for bumping into you on the street. What are your views...all are welcome
If theyr'e work related accidents, yes. The way it used to be if you were doing a dangerous job they would pay you more, but now they wouldn't dare do that since that's admitting to it and could leave themselves wide open so now due to lawsuit happy lawyers both the worker and the company gets screwed. So if they hurt their back because of the job, yes they do deserve money. Also when you get older falls become more and more serious.
Originally posted by doukeshi03 It depends, because doesn't it mention Cerberus somewhere in 'Dante's Inferno', yes that's it, Cerberus lives in the 3rd Circle of hell...the one that punishes the gluttonous.
Dante's Inferno was written more than a thousand years after christ died IIRC so no that's not part of the bible. Also it was obviously taken from Greek mythology.
Originally posted by Luminaire Justin, what you said, I completely agree. I passed a house today that had the words "God Bless America" in Christmas lights on the front lawn. I started ranting and raving to myself about how sick I was of the patriotism Americans suddenly had AFTER sept. 11th. I am thoroughly fed up with America as it is.
You should've been ranting about how stupid these people are to have christmas lights out in August.
I can't even say the flag salute, it's like brainwashing. The worst line of the whole thing is "One nation under God", isn't there more than one nation in this world?
If you never noticed, the USA is one nation.
But, being 15 ,I would like to be in France
Traitor. Also yes suicide is technically illegal, but they can't prosecute you beyond the grave and you'd be going to a mental institution anyway if the police stopped you so no one gets charged.
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel Some people said they specifically joined because of the mention of theotaku.com on AS. What more proof do you need? You guys are so weird lol.
I guess they think they're all in on it.
Originally posted by James Hehe...no access to proof eh? ~_^ Yeah, I don't really believe anything without proof. But apparently someone has recorded it on VHS or something. I don't know. I'm still looking for a screen capture to confirm it. Although it makes me wonder...is Adult Swim in the habit of putting fan site stuff up? o_O I've only seen Adult Swim once but I've never noticed it.
The screencap you will see is most likely white text on a black background. Adult swim has a format of showing black cards with little messages on them so any proof you do see you can easily say "it's fake." Also it is something they would do, they make fun of the people on their forums from time to time through there also.
