1. I feel it was very needed. There aren't any true witches nowadays and why? Because of these trials. I don't know why people keep on talking as if it was some kinda catastrophy.
 2.
Originally posted by stardust It was basically a popularity contest,
Well duh. Do you really think any self-respecting adult will willingly let students run a school? Let alone make important decisions?
 3. I dreamt I somehow programmed an email server program that let me block all spam out. What a great dream...
 4. student council doesn't matter until high school. Unless your school is drastically different from mine, the junior high student council doesn't do anything ever.
 5. I don't think it matters either way. I had the joy of going to a catholic school during junior high and we still talked to girls outside of school.
 6. English and French. We have the geneology back up to somewhere around 1400's.
 7. I dumped a girl who made me listen to Pacifica radio for an hour while going to galveston. Never looked back.
 8.
Originally posted by Baron Samedi I have a thing with my imagimnation- a lack of control. One thing that most people probably get is a song stuck in their head (very annoying when you are trying to sleep) but I have another example. Imagine a bike, OK? Now Pretend you are riding it along, but your POV is the bicycles pedals. Try to imagine the bike braking i.e. The feet pushing backwards on the pedals to brake. I can't imagine that, without tensing my leg muscles. I can not make the bike stop without tensing my leg muscles. I do not know why this is, but I somehow need to use my legs to stop the bike, even though I am imagining it. Try this: Does anyone else have this kind of imagination control problem? Can you do it without moving your legs or anything else?
Yeah I can do it. I guess mine is more powerful than yours.
Originally posted by destro53 You want overactive imagination? http://www.free-writers.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2596 Why do I update this so quickly? Because I walk around constantly in my own little world imagining what I would do if I realy was Aleksander Tsukar. Theres a name for this, some mental disorder, but I can't think of it. And as you said, I can't do that either.
I have to give you credit, that was one shameless plug right there.
 9. I honestly don't like the news ones that much. They should just let it RIP.

 11.
Originally posted by BabyGirl I had a tough time with Romeo and Juliet, but I found Hamlet and The Twelfth Night to be equally as challenging. I like to think that I have a semi-competent grasp on the English language, but Old English must be one of those things you either understand or don't. Congratulations, you seem to be on the winning end.
Well it's not either you understand it or you don't, you either know it or don't. It's basically a completely different language.
I don't know if anyone really understands most Shakespear that they read without studying it for a long time. It takes someone who can unlock metaphors and riddles, it's not like everyday people can understand it at first glance. I'd be surprised if anyone but Shakespearean scholars could fully and correctly interpret a cold reading of any of his works.
I never found it to be monstrously hard to understand him. All you have to do is think and read at the same time. Sure you probably won't understand every metaphor and reference, but it shouldn't be that hard to understand the main plot, what characters are like and so forth.
No no no, Make them read the Canterbury tales(all of the tales, not just the prolouge and the pardoner's tale, which is all i had to read), in Medieval french, which was the vernacular right before middle English. That's a killer. Middle english isn't to hard to read. I read the first page of the prolouge in Middle english. After the first 5 lines it's not that bad.
The canterbury tales were written originally in middle english, why would you want to bother reading a (more) translated version? One of the greatest parts about the Canterbury tales was because it went agains the norm and was written in Middle English, which was nearly unheard of.
 12. No it's just you. Everyone else finds school uplifting and very enjoyable. We also all love detentions, and personally you're the only one I've ever heard of that puts his books face down.
 13.
Originally posted by PoisonTongue That is an example of lousy instructor performance and really, the instructor shouldn't be teaching if they: A) Read the article and still gave him a perfect score. B) Didn't read the article and still gave him a perfect score. Sure they read it...
Who cares? It's a stupid health class for god's sake. As for the person who made the topic, no the health teacher didn't read it, not he doesn't care about the class, and no you didn't really do a great job. I would've figured you'd pick up on it but I guess not.
 14.
Originally posted by Dagger IX1 Um..... SARs ceased spreading because health officials worldwide were working around the clock to stop it. I'm not exactly sure what you meant to say, but I thought I ought to clarify that. The hype usually dies down because the disease itself has been controlled.
No because there was nothing to hype in the first place. They keep on raving about 80 or so people dying of sars when tens of thousands die from the flue every year.
 15.
Originally posted by Ares But she broke her arm, would I look stupid asking a girl with a broken arm to a dance? I don't know...
Yeah, and people will think you did it. My girlfriend got a black eye once because she liked boxing for some odd reason and everyone would stare at me in public if I was with her.
 16.
Originally posted by Lord Prozen well im home schooled but my mom is sticking me in school soon and im in the 6th grade and i've heard thats a bad time to go into
Something some don't know, basically school is worthless until 9th grade. 8th if you're taking accelerated classes. This is assuming you don't go to some super study program that wants you taking calculus II by the time you're 17.
 17.
Originally posted by Heaven's Cloud Am I the only one that thinks this comment is vague? You found out that two other first world countries give a substantial amount of aid to Israel, but you don?t tell us what countries they are. You also state that their average countries income is less per week then Israel, yet you fail to provide an numbers or estimates of numbers. I?m sure that these points are valid and could be true, but since you don?t even attempt to prove them I am going to question your opinions, if you are under the impression that I am bashing you then you obviously are unable to debate your point of view.
The whole post was extremely vague and his facts were based on "my sources are abc...etc."
Originally posted by cloricus I did not in anyway imply anything to do with that conflict in my post, the second paragraph was to prove Harry?s facts wrong and had nothing to do with my post and did not have anything to reflect my bias in the issue
You didn't prove my "facts" wrong. First of all I didn't even state a fact, I simply said that Israel didn't get all of their money from the US which is true. If you honestly believe Israel can live on only 15 billion dollars a year you need to leave this thread and never return.
 18. I bought the deluxe gift set since I am a huge fan of scareface and I enoy my money clip quite well. I suggest everyone gets this movie, one of the greatest of all times.
 19.
Originally posted by lea2385 what do you mean, let tourists go there? i have never heard where people werent allowed there from other countries.....
I meant being able to go there without being afraid of getting blown up by some radical militant.
It's interesting how bias in the media turned into a war about the Isreali war... Anyway, so... Rush Limbaugh, everyone's favorite media conservative (favorite to like or hate) got himself into a little trouble with the minority community... I don't even know exactly what he said, but evidentally he said a vague comment about black quarterbacks, and now he is in the hot seat. Does anybody know what he actually said, I hate trying to make an opinion without at least baseline information...andif you know what he said, what are your thoughts on the situation?
All Rush said was that he though McNabb was getting more credit than he deserves because he's black and a quarter back. It's basically true also. McNabb can be pretty good when he's on top but when he isn't winning, he sure does suck it up hardcore. It's just a case of the media over hyping nothing.
 20. Give them some matches, or if you want to splurge, a lighter.
 21. There's no point in wasting money on someone who will just fail anyway. An 800-899 will pretty much guarantee failing out of college.
 22.
Originally posted by Transtic Nerve I like her pants.... thats about all I like on it. I always thought Catwoman was covered in black leather? And not, well... in this case, lack there of.
She was. Apparently skin tight black leather isn't sexy enough or something.
 23. I don't know about your high schools, but here it was basically where you just piled your money up and lit it on fire. For those that aren't too sharp, I'm saying it was a waste of money.
 24. http://www.superherohype.com/catwoman/index.php?id=207 Jesus Christ what were they on when they thought this was a cool outfit?
 25.
Originally posted by outlawstar69 1) Israel does get alot of money from the US. I believe (and Icould be wrong) that either they as a nation recieve the most or the second most amount of forigen aid. Egypt may be the first or second, either way they are in the top number. They (the Israelies) use that money to buy weapons that they use against the Arab world. You can buy alot of weapons using billions of dollars a year of extra cash.. and to the group known as the palestinians, this is unjust. All they have are stick and rocks, and they are up against tanks and jets. Look at what the situation they are in.. many of them are in poverty because they are not allowed into Israel where the jobs are. Not all palestinians are intent on blowing themselves up you know, but the fact that most all of them are not allowed in to even work, would cause animosity I would think.
It's not like they use that extra billion only for weapons since it's a surplas. They lose a lot of money also do to the mass terrorism. And if you think a couple of billion, imagine how much they would make if they put their stupid hatred behind them and actually let tourists go there. That's money right there.
