Originally posted by Die Krähe Let's see...by saying this, you are being prejudice. I mean, not only are you saying that we are totally wrong which is our OPINION, therefore it cannot be wrong, but you are also saying that we should be treated differently just because of what we believe. Thank you Mr. Racist, I think I've made my point, but I will go on to clarify just how stupid you are.
He's not a racist genius.
I just prefer not to be friends with people who aren't into the same stuff that I am.
What does that have to you being racist again?
Moving along, it's not the White Supremacists themselves who cause racism. It's how the race acts. Me and one of my racist friends just had a conversation at lunch. We both agree that the only blacks that we dislike are the ones that act like the N word. They severely irritate me. They're loud, obnoxious and treat girls like trash.
Just shoot yourself. It'll be easier on everyone.
I agree with slavery, but that is not what the Confederate States of America stood for. The CSA stood for freedom and states rights. The US were being a bunch of jerks, so S. Carolina seceded from the Union, which it had a RIGHT to do. Back to slavery, I don't see anything wrong with enslaving someone. I mean, the conditions here were much better than in Africa (and they still are). You get housing, clothing, and food here, while there you get AIDS, Malaria, and many other diseases, in addition to little food.
First of all it's true that the CSA wasn't completely because of slavery, but it mainly was. The US wasn't a bunch of jerks, the south just cried like little women like they have been for years before. As for this "I don't think enslaving people is wrong" just shoot yourself.
God Bless America, where people can't be punished for their beliefs.
But can be for not being born there.
 3.
Originally posted by pbfrontmanvdp Trust me around where i live you need to have a high GPA and good SAT scores. My parents dont want either me or my brother to leave the state of NJ so were kinda limited here. Unless you have money and could afford the really expensive universities there out of the question as well. Therefor Ivy league schools were out of the question to begin with for my family. Anyway I barely even got into Rowan with a 4.2 GPA and a 1150 SAT score. They wanted an 1180 SAT score but when they saw my GPA, they took me in because of that. My bro...he isnt probably going to get into the college of his choice. Sure hes got a decent GPA, but his SAT scores suck. Hes only got a 1020 and most of the colleges were demanding more then that. I know its sad hes had a pretty good GPA this whole time but colleges are demanding more and more each and every year. He might get in because of swimming, but they still want him to have a better SAT score and GPA. Plus class rank has a factor as well. My GPA gave me class rank of 85 out of 511 students while my bros is around 300 out of 556 students. Thats one of the first things a college asks (or looks for in a transcript), so hes basically screwed there too.
I don't know about NJ but in Texas you can just go to a community college and transfer in to UT, or go to one of the satellites and transfer in.
As for community colleges being the same as Universities, thats somewhat understandable. Some of them are great like ive had to take a few summer course at a couple, but some of them were terrible as well. Its all just personal opinion.
I'm just saying there's going to be little difference between your english class and his, assuming he's going to community college.
I never said that jobs higher you on your little degree...i personally could care less where you get the degree from. If a company does higher someone strictly on their degree, then their absolutely insane. I know you have to look at the total package, you would be stupid not too. But come on, use some common sense, you cant tell me that people with a degree from a regular college/university is better and more helpful then a degree from an Ivy league university. Trust me, that little degree does play an important factor.
Depends what course they took. If someone was at Yale and did the classes, while another did the classes do internships, or even did a co-op program then yes the non-ivy leaguer is more useful.
 4.
Originally posted by pbfrontmanvdp This question has always been running around in my head since my family and i are always so competitive. I had a 4.2 GPA while my brother has around a 3.4. He always says that he's more capable in having a more successful future. He backs it up by saying he has more commonsense, which i always disagree on(i believe i have more). Even if that is so, booksmarts is what usually gets a student into a good college. The university i go to is pretty well known and has a good reputation, while my bro might have to go to a community college (not that thats a bad thing, but compared to a university it's easy to get into). Meanwhile commonsense might have a factor in finding a job. Most of the time there are interviews when applying for a job, and most of them are verbal so this sort of aspect comes in handy. In most interviews you have to answer the questions usually without hesitation and try to sometimes be concise and to the point.
You'll find that unless you're going to an Ivy league school, a community college course is just as good as a average college course. He'll also be spending a lot less. Also a lot of jobs hire you not only on your little degree there, but on a lot of other things. Being sociable and friendly really helps in the workspace. On a side note, why would he have to go to community college if he only has a 3.4? That's an A-B average, nothing hideous. If he does have more common sense than you, he's probably the winner out of you two.
Originally posted by BabyGirl Around where I'm from, a lot of Arabs own gas stations. They have the whole system figured out and are extremely clever in how they run their businesses. What many of them do [this is such good thinking on their part] is buy a gas station, own it for three years before the taxes kick in, then sell it to another branch of their family. Then the process starts all over again, and the business stays within the blood relations. I think it's a super awesome, simple idea. But anyway, I always get hit on by the Arabs who work at the gas stations. They're often older, 30s or 40s, but boy do they love to ogle and compliment. Is this because some people mistake me for being Middle Eastern, or is it simply because Arabs are more vocal about things that visually please them than other nationalities? Is THAT a stereotype, that all Arab men cat call girls? Or is it something that has been borne out of truth, therefore making it a truth and not a stereotype at all? Doesn't anyone see where I'm trying to get with this? Argh.
You're trying to insuate all arabs oogle at girls. That's the gist I got from it. Maybe they're hitting on you cause you're... *gasp* hot? Some people just aren't as timid about it.
because unlike most of the other mexicans and black people, they don't act racist.
Wow the pure hypocracy in this comment was just too funny
Hating someone because of their skin color isn't wrong
This has to be a gimmick account, it just has to.
Jews killed my Christ
Jews have never had any power ever. They aren't even mention in Roman texts or statues besides one that shows a manorah falling out of a looting sack.
 8.
Originally posted by Pex Does anyone feel that the if the success of myOtaku might be a bad thing.
I got to a board that has 18,000 members and never has less than 500 members on at a time. The more people there are that just means the less tolerance for random acts of stupidity.
Lets say myOtaku and OB get flooded with members, possibly 10,000 or more. I feel that instead of myOtaku and OB uniting people by the common bond of anime, it will split.
I don't see what's so wrong with this...
People were seperate themselves from the newbies or categorize themselves by certain groups or anime styles.
Aren't you seperating them as newbies anyway?
I hope I don't offend anyone
Too late for that... btw that was a joke so don't "call me" on it and say you don't think that's possible
 9. This isn't a good thing if you have ever seen the messageboards at adult swim. It's parrallel to battle.net in stupidity. The people that do the show know it too, if any of you remember the card that said "No inuyasha isn't coming back" that was to piss off the raving inuyasha fans on the board.
 10. They had pokemon cards 6 years ago?
 11.
Originally posted by OtakuSennen I'm really not that fond of the show.. ^_^' Um, I don't mean to be biased, but I don't reallyl think that the anime format is really that great with American cartoons... They often over-exaggerate the over-exaggerations.. (Look at Beast Boy. Seems every two seconds he's got really big eyes or a little throbbing vein in his head) And the show is kept on a very children-friendly level, whereas many anime are much more mature... Especially anime of the action genre.. And it seems on this nobody ever dies. Where's the carnage, huh??? I want my out-of-sync-mouthed-and-round-faced characters to die in a pool of blood..! Of course, I'm not a big fan of American action cartoons in general... They don't have the same flare that sparks my interest as much as anime does..
Why can't you accept a show for what it is instead of constantly comparing it to an anime? Why would having people die in that show make it complete?
 12.
Originally posted by The Original Well GoKents, you seem to have Arnolds back, and that's great. But aren't you a bit skeptical of his political knowledge? No offense meant, but this guy has built his career on body-building and movies like Terminator and Conan the Barbarian. I would question whether he knows what he's doing in the political world since all he's ever done is acting, but then again Reagan was an actor. Maybe I'm just being too cynical.
The last thing California needs is a "party man" that is so far entangled in the politics that he let's group influence his decisions. Also he killed T-1000.
 13.
Originally posted by Drix D'Zanth No, under their mentality, despite how stubborn they were, it (luckily) only took two bombs. What's funny is even after the emporer signed the treaty there were accounts of many japanese taking the war upon themselves and still fighting.
So what's to say the same thing wouldn't happen if Russia just got them to sign a peace treaty?
 14.
Originally posted by Drix D'Zanth You are entitled to your opinon, I'm entitled to disagree. Honestly if the "die thill the last man stuff" were bs, why were there kamakazi? Why did japanese kill themselves instead of turning over prisoners? Why did the japanese force civilians to fight with pitchforks and cooking knives when the Marines invaded Okinawa (read the letters to home book for reference)?
Under this idea they would've kept fighting even after 5 more atomic bombs. Sure they were willing to fight to the end when the war was going on, but as soon the as the Emporer said "We signed a treaty" they would've stopped, which somewhat happened.
 15. The only reason they dropped the A-bombs is to show off to Russia. Russia was already have talks with Japan to get them to surrender and they were very close to making a treaty. All this "die till the last man" stuff is ******** honestly.
 16. I'm a baller and a shot caller with my 20 inch blades on the impala. I tend to hit the highway, making money the FLY way but there's got to be a better way. A better way, a better way... yeah.
 17.
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel I don't know why so many people think Japan is a dream place to live thanks to the videogames and anime. This isn't a fantasy world. You're a gaijin. You aren't going to get any creative sort of job there, especially working for established companies like Square. It's near impossible. In the entire century long history of Nintendo, they've had only like two non-Japanese people work in their homeland headquarters. You could find teaching jobs or PR jobs or travel/hotel jobs or something else in that field... but Japanese culture is never going to just assimiliate you into itself. You can't just be shipped there and expect to just fit in and make it. I'm not saying you should give up on such dreams, but I am saying that I agree with your dad. You can do what you want when the time comes, but it's more of a dream than a plausible future. I bet anything you will change your job hopes when the time comes anyway, and many Western videogame companies are becoming bigger and bigger.
Also if you're tall you'll stick out really really bad.
 18. College is more enjoyable because of these main reasons: 1) You aren't in high school 2) Real easy girls 3) Away from the house 4) Having a midterm then a Final 5) no stupid projects that make it so I have to pick up the slack for worthless partners.
In some ways I wish that I had gone to a major university for at least two years because I'm going to miss out on the whole dorm/cafeteria/walking across campus thing. Some of you may think I'm lucky to have started out living in a nice apartment, but it also comes with a lot of responsibility! One year into college and I'm already paying every sort of utility bill imaginable V_V.
Dorms will pretty much always suck. Unless your with cool people, but you have to risk it.
 19.
Originally posted by lea2385 yeah, i understand what you mean, gokents. its "the enemy of my enemy is my allie" but, what might help everyone is if they knew exactly why the terrorist groups are doing what they are doing (why they are doing it is justifiable, the way they are doing it is totally wrong. bombing innocent people, whatever your religion, is flat out wrong.)
They're doing it because they're fundamentalists, we can try to straighten all of this out after we crush them, but that won't be happening because the world thinks it's hip to let terrorists prance everywhere.
 20.
Originally posted by Orien_Xel Although the UN is becoming very bearucratic, and needlessly tangled, its the best thing we have so far for a world gov't.
And what's so good about a world gov?

I dont' care if it's not a jokey thread, and told off by who? KnightoftheRose? The same person that didn't know "LOL FOoD HURTZ U" was a joke? Or the man-***** named Mitch who complains about EVERYTHING such as being fit. Oh well I won't bother posting in here again.
 23.
Originally posted by Mitch Seriously Harry. This is perhaps the most stupid thing I've ever seen...actually, no. I've seen worse from you. You say things simply for effect. And affect. It's obvious to see that Jesus Christ did not come to you, proclaiming, "Harry, I want your *** to stay at OB. I just love your jokes. Hahhahaha." No. It did not happen that way.. And not to mention I'm sure some people find it offensive that you're using Christ as a "weapon." Bah. Seriously, did you ever have any sacrilige from drinking and consuming the covenant? Get a life, kid.
Did you think it could be a joke? I honestly didn't expect anyone to take such a blatantly wrong comment seriously but all you self-proclaimed geniuses obviously did. Why don't you go back to bitching about how you're semi-fit?
 24.
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel It works for stuff like Mallrats and Clerks, but not for something like Dogma. Just opinions of course.
Dogma wasn't that good in my opion, I think the only reason more people have heard of it is because it had so many people (Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Chris Rock, George Carlin, and tons of more people), also that protest march in D.C. (I think) gave it some publicity.
 25.
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel I've never understood why he doesn't just let the cinematographer take care of the camera angles, honestly. It would probably improve the effect of the film. Oh well.
That's just his style. His camera angles is what won him that award for Clerks and pretty much rocketed him on the mainscreen.
