I've noticed that whenever a new member joins a message board like this one (it's not just Otaku, i've seen it elsewhere as well), older members of the board seem to attack him or her for minor little things. Yes, i know they should read the rules, blah, blah, blah, but, honestly, who here actually read the rules before they posted or did anything on the boards? I'm just wondering how new members can feel comfortable here when the first thing someone says to them is "This doesn't belong here." or "read the rules, newbie" or something like that. I just want to say that in general, we members could be nicer to the new members of Otakuboards.

To be honest with y'all, I think it depends on the TV/book. Some things are just butchered when brought from book to TV/movie. But of course TV and movies help you to visualize what you have read. I guess the jury's still out on this one!

I can't e-mail @ the moment... My e-mail is all screwed.... Why can't they be PM'd to you?

I don't really care either way, so I just voted "yes." I kind of enjoy knowing how many posts I've made since I joined. I also like the avg posts per day feature too.

what about this?

How can you be bashing SpongeBob????? It's like the only good cartoon out there!!!! I stopped watching Saturday Morning cartoons years ago, when I finally discovered the joy of sleeping in until noon or later on Saturdays! Besides, they were never that good in the first place.

Am I the only one who can't log on to OtakuBoards using AOL? For some reason, after it says "Thanks for logging in, Armadillomon," it takes me right back to the sign-in screen. Why can't I log in?
When I was younger (when I thought DBZ and anime was stupid)I said that I wouldn't get involved with Pokemon, and the games. But a month later, I am a freak with it.lol
lol! I remember when that happened to me. Same thing w/Digimon too. Now I'm not really in to them as much, but I'll still play the games or watch the shows when I'm bored.
I used to do that when I was a little kid. Mostly whenever I would get mad at someone. I would say things like "I am never going to talk to you again!", "I am never going to play tag with you again!", or "I am never going to play Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with you again!". The next day I would probably be doing just the opposite.
*Thinks back to elementary school days* *Remembers hearing and saying "I'm not your friend" when someone's/my way didn't happen.* lol!

Yeah same here. I did just by one the other day. It's not an actual Beanie, though. It's called a Punkie and its name is Hopscotch. Here's a picture of it:
Originally posted by Final Flash There's more than one, there's three, heh heh. ^_^; Polka your eyes out, Alternative Polka and Polka Power. Not counting Bohemian Polka, which is just one song--Bohemian Rhapsody by queen. It's probably the best though, heh.
There's a lot more than just 3. He's had at least two others besides the ones you mentioned.. not sure of their names, but their from his CDs from the 80s.
Originally posted by Kinetic It really is pointless. And it does show "Former Username: Oogly-Boogly-Boo" in their signatures anyway.
Yes I know, but the chaos comes when you have buddy lists in your sig. you have to go back and change it every time someone decides to change their name. I understand why some want to change their names. I like my name and thought for like four days on what I wanted my name to be (okay, 5 minutes, but it's the thought that counts, right?).
Originally posted by calumon_luver Can you give us a story line or something to work with..
No joke, Takuya. I'll join if you give more info.

Now that users can change their names, it seems like everyone is! It makes it really hard to keep buddy lists accurate. Oh well. Question: Is anyone not planning on changing their name? People who already have, why did you?
Originally posted by Final Flash Heh, Weird Al is the King. I like all of his stuff, but in particular, all his Polkas. Heh heh.
Absolutely love the Polkas! The man's a comic and creative genius!!
Originally posted by Char! Whoa, DOK, I pity you. I always wanted to learn to play the French Horn; it's so mellow. I've always been confused by its classification as a woodwind. Bleh, and saxophones are woodwinds, though made of brass.
No. The French Horn is classified as a brass instrument, just like its marching band equivalent, the Mellophone. And in some cases, Bari Saxes are considered to be brass because they almost always have the same part as the Tubas.

I just read a story about that boy. It really makes you stop and think about how unsafe you truly are in the world.

I think that there should be a forum somewhere for people to discuss games for Palm OS (Palm Pilot). I love my Palm, and I know that there has to be someone else who likes theirs, too.

Ah... Final Flash is a Star Trek fan... Okay, here's a good Star Trek quote: "Aren't you dead?" Adm. Kirk to Spock, Star Trek II.
Originally posted by Mnemolth I basically think its impossible for a guy to be 'just friends' with a girl.
I completely disagree. I have some really good friends that are girls. But there is no sexual tension between us. I don't like them that way. The main reason that most men think that they can't have friends is because most Americans are so homophobic they can't be anywere near a member of the same sex. I think that some people need to realize that it takes more than just being friends with someone to be truly homosexual. Also, some people think that they can't be friends with a gay person without being gay themself. This is definitely not true. One of my best friends is gay. (OK, he's bi, but close enough)

Ha ha ha... Spirit Week... This week is Spirit/Homecoming Week at my school. These were our Spirit Days: Hooded Sweatshirt/Hat Day Hooded sweatshirts are really popular @ my school. However, I chose to wear a hat (since I don't own a "hoodie"). I wore a 2002 US Olympic beret. I looked kind of dumb, but oh well! Work Shirt/Jersey Day This day was cool because it gave us a chance to let other people know where we work. I wore the staff shirt for the summer camp I worked at over the summer. Class Color Day Each class had their own color to wear on this day. I don't know what colors the Freshmen were supposed to wear, but I do know that Sophomores wore blue, Juniors wore red, and Seniors wore black. Hex Day This is where my lack of school spirit starts to show. On Hex Day, everyone was supposed to wear green and gold, the other school's colors. However, I wore green and white (my school's colors). I don't really get into the whole school spirit thing. "Crazy" Green and White Day Since homecoming is tonight, the whole school is supposed to wear green and white. However, I'm wearing green and gold! (Okay, so it's my marching band show shirt, but it still has the other team's colors!) I think that the whole obsession with school spirit just for some stupid sport is a little goofy. I participated in the first 3 days just for the heck of it. The only reason I'm going to the Homecoming game tonight is because the marching band has to be there...
