Originally posted by Deus_Ex_Machina It's probably also important to bear in mind that the people who most need these example don't even bother looking for them, so we end up with an over-abundance of examples that no-one looks at before posting another thread, destined to be another example..
And those that can't follow the rules like that after a few times of breaking them are banned. So either they learn their lesson, or they are banned. So it all works in the end.
2.
Originally posted by Crazy White Boy Now, this deranged lunatic is demanding upwards of ten million dollars. We're living in a day when security has a price.
Even after he is payed the money, if he is ever, I HIGHLY doubt he'll even stop. What's the kill count now, 10? I'm really hoping they nail this guy, he extremely deserves to die as many times as he's killed. But that's not possible so I'll suffice for one death, his. Oh, and I'll allow this thread to remain open since we aren't going in circles as of yet, and this whole sniper thing is a big deal to me.
3. I still am not siding with you Mnemloth. I've kind of compromised my opinion I guess, lol. I believe that someone can respect everyone, only that that respect for everyone is only a common curtesy which one has to endow upon others. Then there's a real kind of respect. A respect which you can feel just wanting to express throughout your entire body. A respect that makes you tingle with admiration and love for someone when you see them, or just hear them talk. Or anything about them. I've felt a respect like that for my parents, and my grandparents. A respect as deep as that is scarce to come by, and is never overused. Not even in a lifetime. Then there's mutual respect, but I don't believe in it. Respecting someone because they respect you is not what respect is. All it does is just make you falsify yourself and make you look ignorant. Then there's the respect I have for some of the numerous members on these boards. A kind of respect that isn't based on looks at all. A respect that is based on someone's personality which they convey, an aura that I can sense, as I read someone's posts and various other writings. In essence, this is truly the root of respect. Personality, views, opinions. At least that is the way I see it in my mind. Because you don't respect someone for how good they look or how bad they are, you respect them for what they have made with their talents, abilities, personality. You see respect from inside them, not outside. But just reading someone's posts cannot convey all of these feelings, thus the respect towards memebers on this boards, at least to me, isn't an extremely strong respect, but it is pretty potent to say the least I can.
4. As I said before, here in Bismarck, North Dakota it snowed about three inches a few days ago. But it is mostly melted now. Snow is fine, as long as there isn't to much. To much makes everything outside hard. I do rather enjoy sitting inside by a warm fire when there's a blizzard or snow going down outside. Just something cool about that. Also I like to catch up on a Video Game, or read a book.
5. This should be in suggestions and feedback. And yes, it has happened to me before. But not everything can go as planned. And as far as I can tell, there is no way of fixing it. I should've probably closed this, but oh well :p *moves it*
6. Oh, I didn't even see this in the FF forum...I must be extremely blind as a bat... Welp, this will be closed then I suppose.

Kingdom Hearts

Alright, now that I've sat down and played this game for around fifteen hours, I have an opinion about it: When I first popped this game in I was drawn to the nice graphics, the Final Fantasy appearances, and the Disney characters. I found the first few hours of the game to be rather dull, but it got better. This is a wonderful game, full of flaws as are most games. The main one for me is the battle system--the camera pans away from you as you battle, causing you to slash away hopefully hitting something. And also the battle system leaves much desired. I hate that you die so often just as you are casting cure, or are opening the mini-menu to select a potion or use cure magic. Although they included a shortcut menu to help in this problem, it isn't put into use as much as they could've done. You only have three spells you can place on the shortcut menu, which really limits you. There also seems no strategy or tactics needed to battle?you just simple mash on the buttons or navigate the mini menu if you wish to cast spells or summons. Trust me, in this game, you will die often. It may sound like a child's game, but it isn't. It is actually rather challenging at times. Unlike most, I find the Gummi Ship mini-game to be quite enjoyable. It adds a whole new dimension to the entire game, and actually makes you feel a sense that you are truly traveling from world to world. It also adds a creative flare, allowing you to build your own ships and customize and add as you feel needed. It makes you feel a sense of accomplishment as you finalize your Gummi Ship, and see and watch as it grows into a powerful machine. The whole Disney appearances really add to this game, as do the Final Fantasy ones. It seems to add a sparkle and newfound coolness to the entire package of the game. Also the dialogue is wonderful. Never in a game have I seen such nicely done dialogue. Also, as you play, the game yanks at you to go farther to see what new Disney characters will appear. The summon system seems kind of weak in comparison to that of past Final Fantasies. Basically you summon a Disney creature, and it briefly appears and adds a new attack to Sora's menu. This leaves much to be desired in that sense. But the summons are quite interesting to watch as they are first summoned and appear. All in all this is a wonderful game and besides the numerous flaws, it is able to capture the magic and wonder of Disney while keeping the interesting and creative flare of characters like Final Fantasy. It is a must play for any fan of Disney or Final Fantasy, and is a good RPG for any casual gamer. 8.8/10
8. *Drools over pic of Yuna looking all Lara Croft style* So they are actually going to make a kind of..sequel in a way (yeh, it isn't but hey, can I dream here?) I'll certainly buy this game. So isn't there any info as to what it's going to be about?
9. :haha: Dude, power rangers is so a fad. A dead one in my mind, not to mention. I'd have to say only the first season was good, up until the green ranger or whatever he was called...for then on...dissipation. Anyways, what does Power Rangers have to do with anything O_o . If you want to talk about it though, you can use the TV forum.
10. Holy crap, this brings back bad reminscience. Yeh, it took me like a million tries to beat him. What I did was level up crazily and got all of my characters and Aeon's limit breaks, also I think you can use some break attacks on him with Auron. But I could be wrong. Also be sure you have healing readily available. I'd mostly use Yuna to do that.
11. Hahah...rain is nothing. How about here in North Dakota--It snowed about 4 inches yesterday and today combined. Now that's what I call depressing weather. I mean, it isn't even Halloween yet...and it's snowing. Bleh, winter is going to totally bite.
12.
Originally posted by ZeroG214 When I was in HS, I was pretty smart I would say. I wasn't in any AP classes but was in the advanced courses though. My overall average range was anywhere between 89% and up. That usually also go me Second and First Honors awards. (I got a hook in my room with like 7 medals) I ended up in a First Honors rank when I graduated. Now comes college.... Oi... All of a sudden I became dumb. I'm distracted now that I'm back in a Co-ed school. I forgot my GPA the first sememster.... 3.6 then next cause I got lucky. I don't know what it is now and won't find out til December. I just hope is anywhere higher 3.5. I guess its true what they say that if you seperate the sexes you are less distracted and do better in school.. :-/
I'm probably going to take AP English next year, my English teacher this year said she'd recommend me to it. So what exactly is an AP class. I'm pretty clueless. It sounds like an accelerated version of the same class...but yeh, I'm not really certain.
13. Yes I can get quite good grades, if I have the will. Take last year for an example--in Careers Ed. I really despised my teacher, and I found the class to be bland and boring. Most of it was common sense, but I will admit, I did learn something from it. I got a D+ in that class. See, I had no will or want to try in the class, so I got what a deserved. But now I have realized what a stupid mentality it is to slack off and not persevere even if I can't stand it. So this year I want to pave the road to my future. But still, already I can feel myself slacking, slowly at first, and then as fast as a blurr. I got all A's and B's except for in Spanish, because I rather can't stand that class. But I am trying to get my C in that class to a B.
14.
Originally posted by GundamGohan uh.. one... wha's a juxtu-ya-wachamacolit???
A Juxtaposition, if I remember correctly, is a word or object or even being that is side by side, parallel if you will.
15. Faris, have you ever heard that people have lives? DOn't worry, tonight I'll write on up more of my story...geesh. I mean just because people are busy doesn't mean they don't care about this RPG...:shifty:
16. Respect is kind of a...invisible thing which we place around someone. Whether it be to: Admire, understand, like, ect., respect is respect. Respect can be placed wrongly in some cases, such as is first impressions. But I really do believe in respect if it is deserved. Oh, and another thing, just because someone may respect someone, I don't think it goes so deep to translate into envy. Arrogant people, even if they don't admit it, would provide a nice epitome to envy. Now, the whole question, "Can someone respect everyone" this is a rather broad and unexplained, blunt if you will, way of trying to convey a thought. Now, in my experience, respect should be given, even if antipathy is the only choice of reason. Thus, I do believe someone can respect everyone. Even if it might not be able to be called respect, it is in a watered sense, respect.
17.
Originally posted by Saiyan_monkey Let's see...I've only got a few for now, can't think of anyone else... Mist: For the fact that she was able to become an Otaku in only a few months. Now that's good:) BTW: Has anyone seen Mist lately? She hasn't posted for a while
She just moved someplace and her parents are going through a divorce, at least from what she has told me. So that's where she vanished to.
I don't think anyone's jumping down your throat...and I think you understand the mentality of many of your posts. As long as you understand that you need to be a bit more respectful of people sometimes...then that's all I can ask for. Other than that, you tend to follow the rules pretty well. It's just that there are some instances where I notice posts with slightly venomous undertones.
You do need to be a little less brash and undermining when you post, wrist cutter. Although I've learned to accept you for who and how you are, not everyone is going to walk around with a chipped shoulder from you and just keep it. Although you really don't bother me that much anymore, since I've understood that the way you act on here is either a facade, or the real you, but you need to understand that people get offended easily and hastily. OtakuBoards is a place where good manners are in most cases--needed. So if you don't try to be a little less brash, then I am most certain that you will be banned. And I don't want that, you are a good person, that is, when you want to show it. So please, wrist cutter, be a little less brash. Not for me, but for everyone on these boards, as well as for yourself.
18. There is already a thread discussing this matter variationally. To go to it, click here
19.
Originally posted by Cera We had "Sex Ed" as part of our 7th, 8th, and 9th grade health classes. Bunch of pre-adolescents giggling every time the teacher tried to explain something.... Ye gods.
We had it in 8th grade. You should've seen how everytime the teacher said anything, the whole class would laugh like they were 3rd graders or something. But I have to admit, it actually did teach me more about it. Truthfully, I do admit it.
20.
Originally posted by Rick Hunter Ack we can't have a person feeling bad about themselves now, I know the feeling of being left out of a list. Since your name has anime in it and I certainly respect that ^_^ I'll put you on my list. *Goes back and edits the list*
:Comes out of little corner of shame: :Hopes kevin's days are going better::p
21.
Originally posted by genkai_yyh well, "dwon with communism" is a strong statement., the communist idea isnt bad. it's what it's twisted into. socialism is a great idea, it just never works... imho
Exactly my thoughts on Communism. Ideally it sounds good--The goverment gives everyone a job, they all get payed equally, everyone is equal. But it doesn't work. I could be doing my hardest at a job, and someone else, say Gokents, could be slacking off, but would still get paid the same amount although he did nothing, and I worked my butt off. See, that's how it doesn't work. Also it doesn't work in that there's no incentive to do your best, no rewards for being the best. In the end, it just doesn't work. And many countries have learned that the hard way.
22. People will always be prejudiced and hated for what they think is right and what they believe in. Anime is no seclusion from this.
23. there should be a translator someplace on the net that would do it for you, but that's all I can think of. Hopefully you can translate it, I'd love to read it!
24. It's a hard habit to break from what I've seen. But anything is possible, as long as you want it to be possible. My mom's tried to quit as well, with little or no results. I hate having to know that she'll die though.
25.
Originally posted by wrist cutter You think you're the only person with smoking parents? My dad has been smoking cigarettes since he was 12 or so.
Well, then, I guess you can understand then. If I had known you had a smoking parent, then I wouldn't have said that. I assumed you didn't, I'm not always right. Doesn't it hurt you? Doesn't it feel like a dagger stabbed into your heart and left to pain you there your whole life, or do you even care about your parents. Heck, I don't even know you, so I shouldn't assume anything. Sorry I assumed wrongly, but, yeh.
