Originally posted by D. Dark Lol, he may think it's love, but that's what the feeling is to him. You can't define what love feels like. People just understand what it is like. There are probably millions of variations on what love feels like, and I think most of them are right...
Yeah yeah, I know. I'm just very particular of my vocabulary. I'm not going to call something a name when the name doesn't exactly fit. And I have a very defined criteria for love. And yeah, love has a lot of facets, like love for a friend, love of family, etc. But that emotional, one-on-one love....well call me cautious. I guess it's the whole 'broken heart afraid of breaking again' crap, but everyone goes through that. And if not, they will, at least once. blaaahhhh I'm going to get off this subject. I'm just being the pessimist in this thread.

I get aggrivated by aggrivated people. I get annoyed by bashers of religion, too. No one beat me or anything, I'm not going to debate. And I get annoyed by loud obnoxious children :twitch:.

:therock: Love, eh? Heh....... you think it's love. Well, have fun with those feelings buddy, nothing wrong with feeling good. Alas, I have not really been fortunate in the department of relationships, at least romantic ones. I've had a good bit of close guy friends, but most of them remained that way. My strongest one was almost destroyed because of romantic interest, but we still keep in touch at least. Right now I have a couple of prospects, but I doubt they'll be any different from other relationships I've had. I dunno..... I guess I have one of those "walls" up. Can't help it really , it's just the way I am. But anyway, congrats on your newfound happiness. ^_^

Yeah I saw the trailer to Matrix Reloaded in the Star Wars II previews. It looks so awesome, I'm definately going to see it. I'm only wary about there possibly being a third- maybe 5?!- parts to it. I mean, unless the storyline is one killer plot with a lot of sideroads, I'm afraid it would become overdone, like the Batman movies or something. I dunno, I mean I hope that if there's more than two the rest will be just as good, but I'm not betting on anything...

Uhhhhh.... ummmmmmm....... I don't get too annoyed very easily. I have a rather steady temperament..... nonetheless: - I am annoyed when people yell...... I HATE it when people yell, as in when they're having an argument or they're just upset and therefore scream at whatever moves. I can't stand it.... - Whiners, people who complain about what they have... - Discrimination against people with a certain religion, a set of beliefs, as well as race, gender, etc. Any discrimination and closemindedness at all. - People who feel like they have to defy everything so they can attain some form of identity. That's so stupid, I just want to shake them and tell them to get over it...... heh, but I don't. I just let them live in the bubble they make for themselves....

Anime Guy Only Topic: Who Dou Think Is The Finest Anime Chick??
Anna replied to SSJ Gotenks ok's topic in Otaku Central
OKay, if one of the reasons why the DBZ girls are being posted so often is because none of these people have ever seen anything thing else other than DBZ I WILL NOT be surprised....... In a non-homosexual way :therock: I think Misato is very sexy in her own right. Her personality is very commanding in that she knows what she wants and would certainly know how to get it. And she is very attractive. -
You know Forest Pixie, you could shed a little more light on the basis of your somewhat brash opinion..... "retard" and "because he looks like Cher!!!" aren't really persuading... Anyway, the only thing I never liked about him was his vanity issue. Sometimes it was funny though, like the scene where the warriors are caught and being held by Tasuki's mountain bandits, and Hotohori does this Cover-girl sparkle thing. That was the part I laughed the hardest in the whole series.

Planes are fun. You'll have a good time. And to make the best of making it memorable, be sure to look out the window a lot as you're flying over the Pacific. That's what I'd do. ^_^

I've come to find that a big reason why people don't like Hotohori is because of his passive nature, that's he's like, weak or something. But's he's not passive or weak; I guess some just misread him and his motives. He has to rule a nation, thus his personality is basically programmed to always put others above himself. When he's put up against a counter-type like Tasuki who is loud and rather impulsive, he seems wishy-washy. But, as I've already said in my general opinion, he's not wishy washy, just level-headed. Anyway, everyone has their preferences for these characters, and with good reason since they are of such broad range in personalities.

*Points to banner* Kenshin is a great series. I love Kenshin's character..... his past makes him so much more.... believable I guess. I've only seen the first Samurai X OVA... the first two episodes... I'm sooooo anxious to see the rest of it. I've seen the first 3 volumes on Rurouni Kenshin (I borrowed them from QA's sister ^_^), even though I would love to see the whole series. Subbed in this series is better. Kenshin's seiyuu is a woman, infact all the characters are done by women, but it sounds really good, and you can't really tell unless you concentrate on it.

OKay I'm just going to jump in here w/ my two cents. Hotohori's character is awesome. To be so stoic and sad at the age of 18 and yet so capable really sets him apart. He's incredibly mature, as his position has forced him to be so. He's also giving and self-sacrificing, especially with his whole Miaka issue. I mean, he truly loved her. Imagine finding the one you had ALWAYS dreamed of. You actually are able to hold them in your arms, and feel them close to you. For a moment, that soft pain you constantly have in your heart melts away, and you don't feel so alone anymore. Would you be able to let that go? Well he did, and you KNOW it was hard for him, and he wasn't just 'oh well' about it either. And again, it was a sacrifice on his part. I could go on and on about Hotohori, but I think it's best I move on.. I like Amiboshi's character, too. It's dynamic as opposed to his brother's, and it's interesting to see how different the two of them are (I think you can see more of that in the first OVA mostly). Yeah, he's a good guy. I like Tasuki and Chichiri as well, and Nuriko, gah..... I like just about all of them. I can even sympathize with Nakago... mostly because of his background, and how traumatizing it must have been. Those events and his actions in the series make sense in their connection. He's not just some psycho doing what he does because he's bored or something. I'd want revenge on the world if I was in his shoes, too! It's not the right thing, but I can understand it. Subbed is better than dubbed, period. I think if I had seen the series subbed I wouldn't dislike Miaka so much. She's so annoying.... I don't hate her but a lot of the time I was like 'ughhhh.... shut UP already'. Example: "..Tamahome...." "...Miaka..." "...Tamahome!..." "...Miaka!..." etc. etc. etc. etc. throughout the whole series. :drunk: Tamahome's alright. Not my favorite, but he's alright. let's see.... that's about it....... I'll probably think of more later on...

Amen Sephiroth!! I was going to say pretty much all of that myself. Shinji is STRAIGHT, and he loved Kawouru as a friend. I mean come on, you "love" your best friend, don't you? Love is just a form of a special bond between two people, and it can change its facets. Misato did NOT kiss Shinji because of sexual reasons. It was out of desperation. And on the subject of Misato............. she is not a dim-wit. She is the most relatable character in the whole series. She's human. She goes through a crisis and makes poor decisions. She lives with a shadow and does the best she can. She's alone. She's reaching, constantly reaching for something to support her and comfort her. And yet on top of all that she is still a hard-worker for her profession, and doesn't give up. I don't really like Asuka, maily for her attitude as Seph said. I know why she acts the way she does, but she still doesn't have to be so bratty. Usually an overcompensation of bossiness is a sign of insecurity, like the person has to constantly fight to be on top because they feel it would be easy for that spot to be taken from them. Asuka could maybe get away with her attitude for a little longer, but sooner or later she would have had to step down sometimes and work with people, accept critisicm and be professional. She's only 14 in the series, so it's more understandable she's the was she is. But she wouldn't make it that way for long. It's not healthy anyway. Toji was one of my favorite characters. The way he cared about his sister was really heart-warming. It's been a while since I saw the series so I can't remember a whole lot of details, but I remember how I DID cry when Toji's EVA was shot down and all that. He was so awesome. He's also imo the most relatable male character. Err..... I'm trying to think of anything else I was going to say..... The Rei/emotions thing is pretty much cleared up... Kawouru was weird to me. I liked his character I guess, his whole deal was just weird. Anyway, I can't think of anything else at the moment...
Originally posted by PiroMunkie Not to be sexist, but girls tend not to do so well when trying to be a punk band. The only band I know that can pull it off is the Distillers. Meheheheh..
I have to agree. I'm a girl, and I don't like any female punk singers except for Gwen Stefani, before No Doubt sold out recently. Tragic Kingdom is a good album, and she has a good voice. Other than that, I just cringe when I hear female punk. That's pretty sad, coming from a girl. Okay now I'm going to tie than in to the topic..... Um, yeah Kelly's cover song isn't punk anyway. I mean, Madonna is pretty far from it, and "Papa Don't Preach" is an old Madonna song, isn't it? Anyway, I still think it was alright. about 6 or 7 out of ten. Probably 6.

I've been on a blind date, it was actually pretty fun. I like meeting new people. And see, we weren't 'set up' for a relationship, it was just a casual date; just hanging out with someone. If a lot of people would tone down a bit and relax, blind dates could be fun. It's not all about meeting someone and then dating for months on end. It's just about making a friend and having a fun Friday night. So yeah, I think you should do this blind date thing. Just be cool and calm and aim to have fun, no matter what she acts or looks like. It's not like you're signing away to get married or anything. -EDiT- Oi, I posted too late. CHICKEN!! Sorry, but come on dude, you didn't have start a friggin relationship or commit- just hang out. Well, whatever, I don't know the whole story. Just be more open to chances; life's about changes. Sometimes you have to roll with them.

White Stripes........ the guy is alright..... but the girl drummer SUCKS! Her technique is that of, 'my boyfriend wanted a band so he taught me how to stay on beat and that's all I know how to do'. Bleh..... I was getting so aggrivated with her, you have no idea! I guess it's because I'm a drummer, and drummers are very critical of eachother. Kelly Osborne did better than I thought she would have. She has a nice voice. Her lead guitarist has talent, he could make it as something in the music biz if he finds the right people (and come on, the Osbournes are some good connections). Anyway, that performance didn't disappoint me, I think she and her band did well. Ewen McGregor...................... what a sssssssssssSEXY man!!! I think Lord of the Rings DID deserve Best Movie, because it was. Recreating a tale such as the LOTR trilogy and getting it decent is a challenge, and it was better than decent. I watched that joker 4 times, 12 hours of sitting in a theater..... and I've never done that for any movie. I didn't see the Spiderman skit, but the LOTR skit was........... lol, it was just wrong on so many levels. I hadn't laughed that hard in a while.

I'm not addicted. I was off and on for a while; depending on how things were going in my life and how often I needed a distraction. OB is a nice place; been here over a year now. *sighs at the memories......* But anyway, I like getting on every now and then, probably about every other day. I always try to maintain an active social life........ I don't like being dependant on anything. ^_^

Well, I can't bash DBZ a whole lot myself, because DBZ is what got me into anime at all. I had always been kinda anti-anime.... well I won't say anti, I just didn't care for it. All I had ever seen or all I knew of it was from my sisters watching Sailor Moon and Pokemon and DBZ and I just wasn't impressed. I guess it wasn't the anime that bothered me- n honesty I couldn't have cared less- I guess what bothered me was how they were always OBSESSED and I got so tired of them. Anyway, back to my point. Last year during spring break I got sick, and was home pretty much the whole week. Well, DBZ came on, and I didn't feel like getting up. This was when they were showing the Cell Saga. I got into it, and wanted to see what happened next. Anyway, I guess that opened the door for it all. So, yeah DBZ isn't awful, but it certainly isn't the best.

I think jujitsu would be fun to learn. Heh, if any place around here taught it, I'd take it. I was in a kickbowing class for about threemonths. We did mostly punches and kicks with body-building and work in flexibility, but no real fighting. The class was closed because he wasn't getting enough regular students. Oh well....... I just stretch on my own as I was taught in the class.

"OH, look! It's a little baby boy! OH wait, there's something else" "Is it twins?" "No........................ it's a map....." *Everyone looks at the baby* "Damn."
Originally posted by PiroMunkie Not that I mind wearing certain women's clothing, cause some is really not that feminine looking, it is just even harder to find the right size, regardless of how feminine-like my body is shaped.. :drunk:
...........:therock:........... Mmmkay..... I like thrift stores. If I can find something I like, which is about a 50/50 thing when I go to one, go me! And the cheaper, the better. ;) I'm a penny-pincher, & darn proud; I'll have a hard time going into debt when I'm an adult.:box:
you don't need to look "punk" to be one..
I think I am going to carve that on every wooden post, melt it on every steel plate, and paint it on every wall I see......... That so applies to me. I get sooooo aggrivated when people automatically write me off as a prep, just because of my clothes. It's people like a lot of YOU cynics here that make ME mad..... Just because I wear Abercrombie every now and then doesn't mean I'm shallow. Just because I like cute, fashionable and feminine clothes doesn't mean I listen to Britney Spears (and yes, I actually have had people ask me that, on more than one occasion). I'm not immune to pain, emotion, breathing life and living in the "real world" because I don't agree with drugs, premarital sex, and anarchy. Gah..... just pull your heads out people; clothes are clothes. End of story.

I like Transtic's responses, so pretty much everything he's said thus far are my thoughts exactly. Apart from that: whether everything is just neurons creating impuses which in turn come to run countries and homes, or if life really is a step up from something left behind and a step below something greater that lies ahead, we're living it. Period. Make of it what you will- pointless, apathetic, or motivational that even though you can't change the economic stress of Etheopia you can make yourself and those you love feel happy. And if you don't love anybody, get off your arse and meet people. When you can, travel. Educate yourself, find passions, find what you don't like and then search for its opposite. Life is about the journey.

This is getting ridiculous. I understand that not all of us are from the same country. I am from the US. I have taken a year-long course in Civil and Federal Law and its appplication in the United States. Euthanasia is a topic that was studied and I remember it very well, and I have done actual research on the subject, as apparently most of you have not. The Declaration of Independence proclaims the "unalienable" right to life and liberty. "Unalienable" means that a right cannot be forfeited, traded, or waived (even with one's own consent). This directly applies to the alienation of life itself by assisted suicide. There is no "states' right" to legalize assisted suicide. And therefore no federal right either. That's why suicide is illegal; 'yes' to all who do not live here in the United States and even those who do and are uninformed, suicide is illegal. It sounds ludicrous, as in 'how would the plaintiff be prosectued?', but it's true. Here's a definition of suicide brought to you by http://www.dictionary.com: "the felonious killing of one's self; the deliberate and intentional destruction of one's own life by a person of years of discretion and of sound mind." Key words; "sound mind". If someone who is of sound mind wishes to be killed, it's suicide. Patients have the common law right to refuse any medical treatment. A doctor who treats a patient against his or her expressed wishes can be charged with assault. People have the right to refuse treatment. So what is euthanasia? The patient is therefore not of sound mind, and if one is not of sound mind, then decisions are made for them. Otherwise, why in the world do you think the term "euthanasia" was ever created if it would mean the same thing as suicide?? Euthanasia and suicide are not the same thing! Euthanasia, again http://www.dictionary.com: "the act of killing someone painlessly (especially someone suffering from an incurable illness) [syn: mercy killing]" The context is such that one does the killing for another party, not a singular party killing itself. Euthanasia isn't even fully legalized, and yet there are cases where doctors are actually killing off patients, an average 75% of which had possibilities of recovering. Look it up, it's there. Online, you'll find pro-life and pro-choice, but for facts go to the legal pages. http://www.euthanasia.com has good sources of actual information. There could actually be a level-headed discussion here if people weren't so assuming (cloricus- you have no clue how old I am, and Harelquin- ignorance is just as bad as bigotry if not worse), and more informed on what's going on.

Whoa whoa, this is a "rap" thread. No need to start a war with the 'rap people' saying the 'rock/everything else people's music sucks and vice versa. Music is an open-for-interpretation topic. Some rap songs actually have quite a bit of work put into them, actual pieces of real art. And not all rock is screaming, blah blah. It's actually the other way around, most rock is real singing, and then the mini-genres of metal, the hardcore stuff, they have more screaming or whatnot. Anyways....
