Well, I'll admit that today's cartoons don't come close to some of the classics... But good animation has always been held exclusively to full length movies and such. How can you look at Goofy learning how to drive a car and turn around and say "Well that animation is just as good as Disney's Snow White"? When it comes to shorts and animated series, the animation will probably never be done with as much effort as a a full movie. That would mean spending millions on millions of dollars each year to animate an entire television series, with the income of that series based purely on the sponsers and the ratings. I don't think anybody does that with traditionally animated series'. Watch "House of Mouse" and any recent Disney movie. No one puts as much effort into animating a television series as they do a movie; not even Disney. When it comes to plots and storylines and humor... that's another thing. No doubt humor has changed, but WB makes a habit of always doing the same type of humor as the original Looney Tunes. Watch a rerun of Animaniacs and look at the mixture of modern slap-stick and political humor. Original WB cartoons always have some kind of adult humor in them, just like the older Looney Tunes. I'm not defending really bad animation and toilet humor (just the thought of Ren & Stimpy makes me feel like vomiting), but there are a few good cartoons out there. Personally, I wouldn't start to worry about the supposed downward spiral of cartoon humor until nobody I know laughs at anything made before 1980.

Nothing works better in a last minute presentation than a "bad example" opening. It's a cheap move, but it makes your actual presentation look longer. Start off by telling all of the wrong information and purposely making it look like you don't know what your doing. Make it look obvious, like you know that you don't know what you're talking about. Then say something like "that was wrong" or "just kidding" and then go on with your real presentation. It makes you look creative and no one will notice that your real presentation was only 10 seconds long. :) Trust me, it works. - -EDIT- - That doesn't mean to put no effort into whatever it is you're really supposed to do. My method is supposed to be the extra frosting on the cake or however that cliche goes.
Originally posted by Riku someone taik to me
Ok, I'll talk to you... You've broken several spam rules. You've quoted people, but haven't really said anything for yourself (lack of words in your posts.) You've just steered off-topic. And I'm pretty sure there's a few other the mods will bombard you with. Why do I suddenly feel like a snitch? Do not worry about it, just remember to leave the moderating up to the moderators. - PM Anyway, about Trunks' hair... Isn't lavender a lot darker than Trunks' hair? I thought lavender was closer to indigo or something. Oh well, I was never good at naming light colors. But yeah, let's just all settle on "purple." It's just vague enough to work.

I once promised myself I would never ever color my hair. Why? Because it was too darn trendy. I don't want to get attention from people just because my hair is a different color... Anyway, I colored my hair grey/silver a couple of times. One of those times, I was letting the drama teacher demonstrate how to make you look old with make-up and he colored my hair grey in the process. I wiped off the make-up, but I spent the rest of the day with grey hair. Someone gave me the nickname Sisqo that day. In fact, I was called Sisqo up until the week I graduated... and the hair thing happened my Junior year. When I was 4 years old and my brother got his ear pierced, I told my mom that I never wanted my ear peirced. Ever. A week later, I had a cubic zirconia sticking out of my ear. But believe you me, I haven't gotten anything else pierced since then. I refuse to get my nose or tounge pierced. It's just not gonna happen. I'll be back in a week to tell you if I went through with it or not. :)

I love Slayers! I watch it every week on the International Channel (I think they're up to Slayers Next). It has everything I like in anime (comedy, sword fights, magic). The only thing it's missing is a giant robot... which it really doesn't need. Amelia is hilarious. I never stop laughing with the way she carries on about fighting for justice. A good justice. A strong justice! Zelgadis is a great straight man/golem/demon. He's constantly serious while everyone else in the cast is completely wacko. One of my favorite episodes is when Lina & co. have a bounty on them and they decide to hide out by joining a little theatre group. Amelia gets picked to play Lina Inverse in their play instead of the real Lina.

Not only do I think Lizzie did it, I think she makes OJ Simpson look like a professional serial killer. Tsk tsk. Sloppy. Lizzie conveniently burned the piece of evidence that could easily prove her innocence (the note). Lizzie was seen burning a dress (a potential piece of evidence) so soon after the murder because of paint stains. When was anyone painting? Adding to this girl's little pyro pattern, an axe was found covered in ashes with no handle (gee, maybe it was burned off). Oh, and let's not forget the little pile of ashes found where Lizzie claimed to have been while the murder took place. And why was she laughing so loudly a mere five minutes before she "found" her father dead? Psychosis? Coincidence? Either she did it or somebody framed her to look like a very sloppy murderer.

When it comes to my parents' opinion on the music of my generation, my mom listens to more hip-hop than I do. It's actually pretty disturbing. She's been into rap for as long as I can remember. I'm probably the only teenager who tells their parent to turn down that darned rap music. My parents are from the 70's, and I like their music more than that stuff people put out in the 60's. Plus I like a whole lot of other genres, so it's usually specific artists and bands that I don't like. My dad on the other hand, doesn't like anything released after the early 1980's. My entire family drives him crazy. :) I guess you could say I lucked out, musically.

I'm with Semjaza. I could live through listening to an Elvis song, but I don't really like his songs. Maybe "Jailhouse Rock" but that's it. I can't really think of any songs you could play...

Frankly, I find black lace disturbing in nearly any sitution.
That's my name. Just don't call me "Endo." :) Mostly, I have a fear that if I had a daughter, she'd turn into one of those headcases from Jenny Jones and Maury who sell themselves on the street and call out some random guy who they think is the father of her child.

In order for Babidi to take control of someone, they have to already be evil (that's why he took control of just Vegeta). If Babidi could take control over someone who was already good, he could have taken control of Goku and all of his friends, too. The more evil someone is, the easier they are to control. That's why Dabura stood next to him like a zombie most of the time; he was extremely evil before Babidi even touched him. Of course, I'm just guessing.

Yeah, you're allowed to advertise all you want in your signature (provided it's 8 or less lines long and only uses one image).
Originally posted by boogeta Im just saying would you want yourbrother or sister running around acting like spongebob
No, because then that would make two of us ;) I like Spongebob. Some cartoons just don't have to make sense. Personally, I didn't like Cow & Chicken (butts drawn... too graphic!) but Spongebob is about a sponge who lives under the sea and flips burgers at a restaurant owned by a crab. It dares to be stupid! If you don't like shows that don't make any sense, let's talk about the ones that aren't even cartoons (Tom Green, Jackass, Hits from the Street, Jamie Kennedy, ect.) :box: I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready...

I wouldn't say "No, Flattie!" to my daughter, but I'd probably tell her she's too young to wear one and if she wants to know why, she can ask her mother about it (or I'd tell her about it later). There's no way I'm letting my undeveloped daughter wear a piece of padded lingerie on a surface just as flat as her back just because it looks kool or it's all the trend. This is exactly why I'm never having children: raising daughters.

Maybe it's just your spin on the subject, or maybe I honestly think there is something wrong with the world. Unless this girl was developing breasts at a young age (although it still wouldn't explain the padding) or is just short for her age, she shouldn't be wearing a bra. Of course I have no experience raising young girls (or any children for that matter) so what do I know? All I have is my opinion.

You liked the live-action Tick? It was nothing but a bunch of marriage references changed around for a superhero and a sidekick. Got pretty predictable sitcom-wise. Anyway, I love That 70's Show. I laughed the first time I saw them all high and talking in a circle. The show is hilarious. I sing along with the theme song everytime it comes on.

Lance Bass?? I thought he was in space... :) Nothing against him, though. He's not really a good singer (not even in terms with the rest of NSYNC) but it's not like he killed my father or anything, so I don't care. And I had no idea the kid from Sixth Sense and AI was Sora. I've never played Kingdom Hearts, but HJO is a good actor, so I'm sure he did a good job.

Anime Super Fighting Coffee Flavored Saiyan Candy......
Manic Webb replied to Yu Yu Hakusho!'s topic in Otaku Central
I laughed equally with both versions. It's the physical comedy that gets ya... plus I was watching the Japanese one without subtitles and couldn't understand anything. Still, the jawbreaker joke was funny. -
I thought what I said sounded familiar. :)
Originally posted by Crazy White Boy As for Endymion--Baba is not an earthling. I would consider her to be a mythological correspondent of Lord Enma. So, she's not really relevant to my comment. Besides, could Baba do any of the following?
But isn't Baba supposed to be Roshi's sister or something? And she just works for Enma/Yemma? Plus, Baba can do this stuff... -Strike fear into Kamesennin, the legendary martial arts master and retired winner of many of the World Tournaments. -Travel to the world of the dead without even dieing -Fly :p -Dodge all of Buu's attacks on Earth -Although Cell knew of her existance, he never even attempted to challenge her to a fight.

Who exactly is Hawkgirl? The only thing I can connect her to is that there was a Hawkman in the old superfriends cartoon. Who is she? Where did she get the wings?

Sometimes you gotta wonder if some people write their posts in a true attempt to offend people, or if some people just want to be offended. This is just my insignificant little opinion here, but I think some people might have gotten offended in this thread for the wrong reasons. Interpret what I just said in any way you want, because I'm just guessing. Anyway, thanks to this thread, I now understand the difference between burning a US flag out of disrespect and retiring a US flag. I think that if someone wants to protest something, they can do it without going pyro-crazy. There's a lot of sensible, diplomatic ways flag-burners can get their points across... or (like everyone else and myself have already said) they can just move out of the country. It's not like there are any laws preventing US citizens from leaving the country (unless they're in trouble with the law, of course).

When you have two parents, of course you're not going to look exactly like both of them. Two parents means mixing DNA from two your parents, who have mixed DNA from your four grandparents, who have mixed DNA from your 8 great-grandparents. Some genes and traits skip a generation or two and you might look more like a distant relative than your own mother or father. The same can be said for chickens. What I'm saying is that Nameks only have one parent. Having one parent means your DNA isn't a mix of anyone else but that single parent. That means you would be exactly like a clone. All Nameks should look exactly like Guru because he is their only parent. I know that I'm trying to connect real-life stuff to an unrealistic anime, but it's not like I sat down one day and said "what on DBZ isn't very realistic?". It just crossed my mind one day, when I was watching the episode where Krillin and Gohan met Dende for the first time. I'm random like that.

I can't play the guitar yet (my dad still hasn't given me lessons) but it's easy to find some sheet music and charts and tabs and stuff online to teach you (it's how I'm learning to play the piano, with my tone-deft self :) )
