.::My Top Ten::.

.::1..Spirited Away::.
Maybe its because im a major
anime freak, or maybe its
because I loved everything about
this movie, I dont think Ive
ever seen a better made movie
That could make me watch it
over and over and not get sick
of it..

.::2..Chocolate::.
Can you say.. I love Jhonny Depp?
Damn he got hot. I love movies
where they take something and
make it better, Like they moved into
that place and made it into a chocolate
shop, Plus it showed the whole
temptation thing, that was kinda cool.

.::3..Pirates Of the Carribian::.
Who doesnt love pirates?! Who
doesnt love Johnny Depp and
Orlando Bloom?! I liked this
movie because it was witty and
because I watch anything that
has to do with 'before technology.'

.::4..LOTR: The Two Towers::.
All I can say to this is, Wow. The
fighting scenes were awesome,
and Golem, I'll have to admit, was
a tad bit amusing with his whole
split personality peice.

.::5..The Matrix::.
The Blue pill or the Red Pill..?
I Think I'll just take neo....

.::6..Ghost Ship::.
Gotta love the whole
eating maggots thing..
And the whole watching
Everyone die at the begining
Other than the movie making
me want to throw up, It
was pretty cool.

.::7..Scary Movie 3::.
Just because its funny..
.::8..The ShawShank Redemption::.
Woah. My dad made me watch this
But I found myself loving it. I dont
understand why I didnt put this at
first.
.::9..Cant think of one..

1) The Lord of the Rings Trilogy: Now, I'm saying 'trilogy', because I know the third one's going to be awesome. Probably better than Two Towers, at least. It's all beautiful, the music, graphics, story... and the speed of it is perfect for my taste. Plus, the commradarie (sp?) between the cast and crew is really great. That really makes the commentaries much, much more fun to watch. And... LEGGYYYYYYYY!!!!!!! ^__________^

2) Moulin Rouge!: I LOVE THIS MOVIE! Most of my favorite songs now are from the soundtrack, and their voices are amazing. I loved the set throughout the movie, and the costumes were really ellaborate. The story was really moving, especially the ending, and that scene with Satine and Zidler near the end. And it was great how it got so
suddenly sad just after the happiest
part in the movie. Just amazing. Nicole Kidman is really, really talented.

3) Pirates of the Caribbean: Well, starting off with the obvious, Johnny Depp's performance was awesome, and Orli looks soooooooooo frigging hot!! Keira Knightley was gorgeous, and I actually liked her better in Pirates than in 'Bend it Like Beckham'. The score was great, and it's just great how people didn't go in to see it with very high expectations, and came out pretty amazed. ^^

4) Romeo + Juliet (1996): I saw this for the first time when I was six, and that was when I actually understood what was going on in 'Romeo and Juliet'. Everytime they'd do a play, first of all, I couldn't understand a word, second, I would always just giggle at the funny costumes. But I really liked the way Baz Luhrman turned it into something more modern-ish so the audience now could understand it a little better.

5) The Four Feathers: Eeeeeee.... What can I say? I'm probably the only one at my school who watched this, but it was great! I had only gone to see it, since so many people I knew were totally in love with Heath Ledger. I completely forgot about that while I was watching this. (Might've been because of that beard...) But it was really great, and it finally makes sense after having countless book reports on it that didn't make sense! And I'm really interested in the Middle East right now, so it was pretty interesting watching a movie about that time.

6) Chicago: Cathrine Zeta Jones rocks!! ^___^ By then, I had seen Moulin Rouge a dozen times, and feel completely in love with movie-musicals, since I love singing those types of songs all the time. I love all the songs in this movie, especially the Cell Block Tango. Plus, I'm singing 'All That Jazz' for my audition for 'Guys and Dolls'! ^^

7) Tie:

Rat Race: Best comedy ever! -...At least, that's what I think. I loooooooooved every scene, though some of my friends have said it's corny and none of those would ever have a chance of happening in real life. That's why I like it. It's corny in some bits, but it's the corny-ness that's funny. The main reason I went to see it was my favorite cousin recommended it to me, and he loves Rowan Atkinson.... probably more than I do.

Bend it Like Beckham: Keira Knightley and... Padim-.... Parminder Nagra!!! ^_____^;;; It was hilarious, and all my friends I dragged it to loved it as well! And I know this sounds dumb, but it also insipired me to join a soccer team again. It's a really great feel-good movie, and it's really funny. Plus, Johnanthan Rhys-Davies is gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

8) Love Actually: I was so not expecting this to be on my top ten list at all, but when I saw it, it was really great! Especially with that great cast, how can it not be? Now, the only problem was getting my mom to go. It's rated 'R', so she wanted to screen it first. But eventually, I showed her the trailer, and poster. She agreed, and we took my dad with us. Very funny movie, though quite alot of those people on the poster had such small roles, they could be counted as cameos.

9) Tie:

Air Bud: Okay... it's probably because I got it at a time when I loooooooooved dogs. Everything I had for school had some dog on it, and everytime my friends came over, we'd sit down and watch 'Air Bud'. But it's a really good family movie, or if you're babysitting. I mainly like it because there's alot of memories that go along with it everytime I watch it for me. It was at a time when I had my puppy Bruno, my original one turtle, and I was just living with my mom. Really great times, and I miss them. ^^;

Cats Don't Dance: Same time as 'Air Bud'. Since I was home alone alot, I'd just keep this movie playing over and over, since our VCR would rewind and play automatically. And it's probably because of this movie I really started liking singing. ^ .^;;; Plus, Johnathan Rhys-Davies is in it as Wooly. ^^

10) Titanic: I was six at the time, and it was the only PG-13 movie I fell asleep in. I remember really liking Celine Dion after seeing this, and quite a few people in class were actually talking about it. But it's really moving, and the history of it is pretty neat. Beautiful movie. ^_^

I saw that and I enjoyed it alot. But they used the exact same lines from the original, they just put it in a modern day Los Angeles setting. I quote-

Setting- Gas Station

Romeo- "Draw your swords!" (Romeo and his gang proceed to take 9mm's and Desert Eagles out of there pants.)

I found that part funny, but it was steal pretty good. Like the fight between Tibult and Romeo.

My top 10, this may change in time but here it is for now:

1. Trainspotting
3. Goodfellas
5. Blow
7. Apocalypse Now
8. The Godfather
10. Batman ('89)
Those were very good choices. I really liked Goodfellas, but I actually liked Casino better.

The other ones you chose, I thought they were decent films but I personally wouldn't have had them anywhere near the top of my list.

I can do this no problem.
10-The Sailor Moon Super Movie. Luna's romance with an astronaut is quite touching when you think about it
9-Princess MOnonoke-It's like a more adult Fern Gully, but without the talking bats and Faeries
8-Girls just Wanna Have Fun I don't know who's heard of it, but I want to make a fanfic of it.
7-Ten Things I hate About You-Adaption of Shakesphere's Taming Of the Shrew.
6-Bridget Jones' Diary-Very interesting. I need to finish my fanfic on that!
5-Rush Hour Both one and two, I think they're both funny.
4-How The Grinch Stole Christmas-Both the animated and the Live Action are good. But I think the Live action is funnier because of Jim Carey.
3-National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation-Yes, another Christmas movie. I love the squirell and the dog. and well, I watch it every year. Right after both Grinch Movies
2-Ever After-This is the best Cinderella adaption I've ever watched. I loved it so much. I cried and everything. The best part is the scene with the shoe when Drew Barrymore knocks out the girl playing the mean Step-sister.
And finally, what you've been waiting for the number one movie in ChibiHorsewoman's theater (yeah right!)
1-SHREK-The movie kicks butt. I saw it when it came out in the movies(the first night) and I bought it as soon as it came out on video. I can't wait for the sequel!
Okay, I lied, this was hard.

7.) James Bond: Dr.No

In terms of James Bond, I think the best was Goldfinger. Anyone else agree? I thought Sean was at his best and it had the perfect mix of gadgetry, girls, and a good story.

Look, I don't know much about actual film making. Or camera angles, lighting, all of that. So don't be expecting some grand list of artsy movies or anything. Just thought I'd let you know.

1. Donnie Darko: I saw it around 6 months ago on DVD. It is still my favorite movie. When it comes to favorites I never really stick, I have a new favorite the next day. But I have a feeling this will remain at the top for quite some time. It just told a wonderful story and was an all around awesome film. Has some sort of a cult following now.

2. the Matrix: The first time I saw it, I hated it. But I was like 10 or so when it came out. So all the intillectual capacity needed to fully understand it wasn't there. Now that I know what happens and cool fight scenes aren't all I look for in a movie I can see what a masterpiece it really is. Breathtakingly original.

3. Mallrats: The movie that opened me up to the world of Kevin Smith's directing. I'd seen Dogma before, but it didn't really grab me. I just liked the **** Demon. This film is probably the funniest film of all time. I've even gone as far in my love for this movie to purchase the blue prints from the stage in that movie, where Jay and Silent Bob made their plans. Funny stuff.

4. the Ring (American Version): I know many people here will probably prefer "Ringu" just because it's from Japan, and others will prefer it because it's the original. But the American version was deeper plot wise, and a whole hell of a lot freakier.

5. Kill Bill Volume 1: I can't say much about this movie. Mainly due to the strangeness (or to someone who knows about film: wonderfulness) of the film on a whole. Sticking anime in there was pretty strange, and was probably my least favorite part of the film when I saw it. But I've warmed up to the idea since. :\

6. 8mm: I watched this last night. It was amazing and freaky as hell. I'm thinking about starting a thread about it. I don't really have much to say because since it's so recent in my mind I'll probably write too much and reveal a bunch of stuff.

7. South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut: I still have it on VHS. And if you asked me right now, I could probably recite it. :p The summer I got it, I watched it at least 2 or 3 times a day. I'd do everything with it running. I'd eat, it'd be on, I'd be on the computer, it'd be on. It was litteraly on that whole summer for the most part. If I was out side messing around with my friends, it'd be on. I love that movie like no one will ever know.

8. Light It Up: This was my favorite movie a few years back. Awesome story about a bunch of kids in the ghetto, in a ghetto school. That take a cop hostage and demand stuff to help the school. I have not seen it since that day I rented it years ago. But I love it none-the-less.

9. Ninja Scroll: First anime movie I'd ever seen. This and Princess Mononoke are what opened my eyes and made me realise there was more stuff than DBZ. And a majority of it was better.

10. Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels: From the guy that did Snatch. With a majority of the same actors. Except this is 10x better.

yikes. I'll be lucky to come up with five. 0_o' this is of course in no order.

Benny and Joon
heh, I think this is my first 'favorite' movie, lol. I always get a warm, fuzzy feeling whenever I watch it. Johnny Depp being in it is certainly a plus.

Alien
one of the only sci-fi movies I like watching. that movie is freaking awesome.

The Prince of Egypt
I never get tired of watching it. the artwork is beautiful, along with the story. better than most all of the animated movies Disney's made, imo.

The Matrix
I haven't seen the last two movies (and from what all I've heard about them, I'm not quite sure I want to), but this one's awesome. a bit of the actors/acting doesn't seem all there, but it's still a great movie to watch.

I Am Sam
sadness. really great movie. Sean Penn and Michelle Pfeiffer are teh awesome-ness.

White Oleander
yep, Michelle Pfeiffer again, for the 3rd time. she's one great actress. but anywho, I didn't see this movie until about a month ago. had to watch it rather rushed, because I was borrowing it from someone. wish I'd had more time to focus on it, because it was a great movie.

I think that's pretty much it. haven't seen a massive amount of movies, and not a lot of them have really stuck on me, except for the ones mentioned, of course.

That and it had an awesomely goofy theme song. I could listen to that all day. The only thing better is Homer Simpson's version of it...

Max Power
It's the name you'd love to touch
But you musn't touch
His name sounds good in your ear
But if you say it, you shouldn't fear
For his name can be sa-aid by any one

And then Mr. Burns busts in saying "Ah, Max Power!" finally remembering Homer's new name after constantly forgetting his real one.

Classic... I'm also on a tangent here, so I apologize.

1. Memento - Psychological thrillers tickle my fancy. Guy Pierce, Carrie-Anne Moss and Joe Pantoliano star in this uttery f##ked-up movie.
2. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - Do I really have to explain? Featuring Johnny Depp.
3. Alice in Wonderland - It's one big *** drug reference. Listen to the song 'White Rabbit' by Jefferson Airplane if you don't know what I mean
4. What Dreams May Come (i wrote this before i saw the list by Mimmi, so i didn't copy ;)) - One of Robin William's better serious roles. The supernatural and normal collide into a beautiful mosaic of delight and despair. (too flowery?)

10. The Fugitive - Harrison Ford as the wrongly accused doctor trying to prove his innocence in the murder of his wife.

Wow, I can't believe no one has mention one of my favorite movies, and here's a list of ones i can think of, (also taking off what other people have said) in no particular order.

Spaceballs----in my opinion, one of the greatest movies of all time. If you haven't seen it you should. It's a Mel Brooks movie, so you know it's going to be good. And basically, is like a Star Wars parady. Fav. line: "I see your swartz is as big as mine!"

Blazing Saddles----yet another great Mel Brooks movie, this one set in the country setting. "Badges??? We don't need no stinking badges!!!"

Oh what the hell....why not another Mel Brooks movie---Robin Hood: Men in Tights----The guys name is Achoo. (Bless you!) That does it for me. "Why is it that ever time they have the credits they have to burn our village down? LEAVE US ALONE MEL BROOKS!"

Spirited Away----what can i say...one of the greatest anime films out there. It's different and has a great story line...not to mention the characters designs are good!

Giving Spirited Away a run for it's money would have to be Grave of the Fireflies------what other way can you show the true face of war, and have people crying at the end. I know i did!

A Walk to Remember----ok, ok, i know your thinking "Chick Flick" but, i could really relate to the girl. I mean, she loved to sing and she liked astronomy. That's kinda me, only with more interests thrown in there.

Pirates of the Caribbean----do i have to say it?
Any of the orginial Star Wars, Star Trek movies, and Indian Jones...and last but not least....Any James Bond with Sean Connery.
(wopps, i think that's more than ten!)

Top ten list! here's mine

10. Spaceballs-I thought it was funny. "Light speed's to slow! go to ludicrous speed!"

9. Princess mononoke- Awesome animation, good storyline, Great characters. How many more ways are there to say it's GOOD!

8. The Matrix

7. Excalibur- Yes, it's an old one, but the action's good.

6. Monty Python and the Holy Grail- I about died laughing when i first saw this one. Now i've got the funniest lines memorized, and it still kills me.

5. Jin roh: The Wolf Brigade- Really confusing at some spots, but it kept interested the whole way through

4. Jay and Silent Bob strike back- Do I really have to explain it for you?

3. The Patriot- not the one with Steven Segal, his movies get old fast. I'm talkin the one with Mel gibson. Muskets flaring, cannons roaring, guys gettin their legs taken of by a 20 lb. ball of metal. what's not to like?

2. Braveheart- Not entirely true to history ( Wallace wasn't set up, he was found hiding in a well) but the war scenes were incredible. It kept my adrenalin rushing.

1. Lord of the rings movies- The fate of the world rests on a knee high, going insane guy with a powerfull ring. I'm hooked. what really got me hooked was the swordplay, the orcs, elves and such, and of course the action.

This is not to say I'm an action junkie, these are just my top ten favorite movies, there are lots others of different genres I like.

Okay...my top ten faves... o_o

1) Edward Scissorhands

I dunno why i like this movie. Really i don't. It's sad, and it's funny. Acceptable acting....and Johnny Depp. Love Johnny. ^_^;

2) The Matrix

Great acting. Wonderful acting. Nice characters. Great effects. All around loved the movie. I got the disturbing message and I still like it alot. It was a great movie...and then they made a 2nd and a 3rd. I saw both recently. The first could've stood on it's own. They shouldn't have made any more.

3) Spirited Away

Okay, I just love Miyazaki's films. I love his stuff...i love the characters. It's a bit childish, but everyone needs a sweet movie every once in a while. Great characterization, wonderful animation. Loved it.

4) Tremors

Okay, that movie was hilarious. So funny. Kevin Bacon did such a great job, he's so funny! XD It was just such a great movie....my Dad loves it even more than I do. oO;

5) Sleepy Hollow

Funny, morbid, errie and bloody. whoo-hoo~ Gotta love it. There's a bit of a love story too. Really good movie. Just enough gorey bits to keep me interested and romance which lightly threw me off. Good movie though.

6) Escaflowne The Movie

Great animation, good story. Not too sweet or sappy, and i bit creepy at times. The animation was really very lovely...I really liked the way the wings looked. ^_^

7) Pirates of the Carribean

Really cool movie. More Johnny Depp. Gotta love Johnny Depp. o_o And Orlando Bloom. Funny story, cute characters. XD Hilarious ending and beginning. Loved it. ^.^

8) Cry Baby

OLD movie. OLD, OLD movie. Kinda odd, but I have a love for Johnny Depp so yeah. ~_~

9) Pretty Woman

My Mom introduced this movie to me when i was like eight. Not a great idea, but anyway. It is a good movie, although I kind of don't like the way some of the women are portrayed...still, Roberts did such a good job. How could i not love it?

10) The Nightmare Before Christmas

Such a funny yet weird movie. Odd characters and weirdish animation...still good. I loved some parts and hated some parts, but its a really cute movie all in all.

Top Ten Favorite movies:
10: Lion King- I remember seeing this movie in Mexico (I was born there, but i am an american citizen, thank you very much) It's basically Hamlet but without the hero dying. I still have a Timon doll in my room (Timon kicks butt, okay?).
9: Armitage III- I always thought Matrix was based on this movie. You know, with the hating the robots and the robots fighting back, and the politics...
8: South Park: The Movie- It's rude, it's crude, but ya gotta love it. All of the songs, wacked out plot, and Saddam Hussein (now in custody of the USA) as Satan's Master.
7: The Matrix- Better than the sequels. I watch the DVD just for the lobby scene. I wish the sequels were better devised, that's all.
6: Nightmare Before Christmas- My favorite christmas (related) movie. I need to see it again, though, it's been too long.
5: Young Frankestein- "Roll, roll, roll in zey hay..." I love all Mel Brooks movies (#5 should be just "Mel Brooks Movies"). But my favorite is young frankenstein. The black and white feel, the overexaggerated characters, i love it all.
4: Goldfinger (James Bond)- I agree with rttocs77 on this one. Goldfinger is the best Bond film out there. This was the start of the fancy cars, exotic locations, beautiful girls, and the gadgets. The new ones are a piece of crap though... But I digress. This movie series changed action movies forever. I mean, how far can you go before seeing a spoof of this series (examples: Austin Powers, xXx...) ?
3: Cowboy Bebop: The Movie- Many people (Shy, in particular... sorry) are pissed off at me for making a petition for this (see my signature) but watch the movie and you'll know why I love this so much. It has that 40's noir feel to it that is sadly missing from today's movies
2: Fight Club- Underrated in this thread. First movie that made me think what happened. My company's name (Team Mayhem Productions) is based off of this.
"With a gunbarrel in your mouth, you only speak in vowels"

I love that line....
If you haven't seen this, SEE IT NOW! Brad Pitt's best.
1: Monty Pyton and the Holy Grail- I first saw this when i was eleven, and laughed so hard seeing all of the physical comedy. Now that I'm older, i laugh at it even harder.

My top ten are twisted out of control.

1. Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. It's my favourite anime ever. It's the only movie I can watch more than once without getting bored.
2. Akira. More for the mindless destruction than anything...
3. The Fifth Element. I love this movie. It was my favourite until last year, which was when I properly discovered anime.
4. The Matrix. There's a no-brainer.
5. End of Evangelion. If only for the commentary on the DVD.
6. From Hell. Jack the Ripper is just a cool subject for a movie. Another freaky flick from Johnny Depp.
7. Van Wilder Party Liason. This movie is twisted. Truly.
8. Cowboy Bebop: The Movie. The fight scenes in this are, in my opinion, better than DRagon Ball Z.
9. The Life of Brian. The funniest Monty Python movie ever.
10. Ghostbusters. Gotta love that theme song.

So yeah, they are my Top 10 movies. With no real explanation as to why at all.
