Ali floated in and out of consciousness as she heard gunfire and shouting.
"Demmy! Are you two alright?"
Pocket, her weight shifted as she was lifted into a large, plush seat.
"I dislocated my shoulder, she's got wind burns and it seems she can't get rid of a headache."
"We have to get back to town right now! He won't stay gone for long."
Marcus. Were they all there? How did they find her and Demetri. She let the thoughts float away as she tried to sit up, her vision already fuzzy swam even more as Pocket and Demetri pushed her back into the large car seat.
"Ali, don't move, Demmy said your hurt."
She reached out with her powers, more than happy for their return and let the atmosphere around her calm some as well as her own nerves. Her thoughts were scattered as images ran through her head, things she knew had to be dreams. Leaving that thought pattern alone she shook her head slowly.
"Help me up Pocket."
"B-But Ali."
"Just do it."
Demetri's voice sounded above the din of the others as they finished chasing off Sybille and keeping the area secure.
"Ali, get some rest. Your beat up and tired. I can handle getting us back from here."
She frowned and tried to sit back up as Pocket saw the pending battle of wills between the two and made a break for the other car to see what information Sasa, Jeff and Marcus had come up with. Ali pushed his hand away as it came to rest on her shoulder.
"I assure you Demetri, I'm fine. I can take care of myself."
"You were pretty bad in the desert. Just listen to me for once would you?"
"Demetri, I hold everyone lives on my shoulders, I can't let myself be weak."
His hand tightened on her shoulder making her meet his eyes.
"Alex, not one person here thinks your weak. Stop that. We all trust you and we know you would never put us in danger."
Ali looked away, her powers keeping a steady calm on herself.
"That's just it, I am putting everyone in danger. He wants me and he'll kill all of you to do it."
"And like I said earlier, he won't get us without a fight."
Ali blinked as the dream like memory came back to her, like a bad stomach ache that won't go away, only fades with time than rears it's ugly head at your weakest moment. The feel of Demetri's chapped and dry lips brushing over her's came to life and she felt her heart begin to beat faster.
"D-Demetri..."
She looked up at him and reached out carefully, his emotions, his feelings for her, made her lay back down fully and drape her arm over her eyes.
"Ali, you alright?"
She moved her arm to see him peering down at her, she nodded and reached up brushing a few stray hairs from his face.
"I'll be fine."
She turned her head to the side and shouted above the noise.
"Enough! Get us the hell out of here and back to town."
The others piled into the cars and headed back the way they came, Demetri and Ali sitting in the back of the Bear as it rose and fell over the dunes of sand. Ali closed her eyes and searched around in the dark til she grasped Demetri's hand tightly. She wasn't sure if this was such a good idea but for the moment, with no interference with HQ she was content to be close to the man. Looking up she saw the glint of the console's lights reflecting off his eyes and reached up running a few fingers along his cheek to his chin. As sleep and exhaustion over took her she felt him grasp her hand and put it against his chest and holding it tightly.
Ali blinked and sat up groaning as soreness flooded her system, rotating her shoulder she yelped as she felt a knot in the muscle, her door opened and Pocket flew into the room with tears in her eyes.
"Ali! Your alright!"
"Pocket, how many times must we go through this? Of course I'm fine."
"I was just worried cause Demmy said that guy almost got you again!"
Ali patted the girls back as Pocket wrapped her arms around Ali's torso and hugged her tightly.
"Pocket, you'll crush her if you keep that up."
Ali looked up to see Demetri enter her room and lean on the door frame, his arm was in a sling and bandages covered his arm.
"Demetri, are you alright?"
"I'm fine Ali. Just letting it rest is all."
She nodded and smiled as Pocket bounded from the room, no doubt to tell the others of her recovery, Ali jumped slightly as she felt Demetri's rough hand on her's.
"You sure your alright Ali?"
"I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be?"
"There at the end, you got slightly hysterical."
"I'm sure I didn't get that bad. Though it's all rather foggy."
"Y-You don't remember anything?"
"Not really, it's hazy."
Demetri looked down at their hands with a slight frown on his face, Ali squeezed his hand getting his attention.
"The thing I remember most was the feeling of the breath leaving me, that's where it all gets fuzzy."
Demetri's cheeks turned a light shade of red as he cleared his throat, she smiled and shook her head.
"Demetri...you know it's a dangerous game we play...you and I."
He gave her a quizzical look as he frowned.
"We have to be careful. You know how HQ is with relationships between co-workers...it's not looked on lightly. Most of the times they send who ever it is to different teams and assign them to the farthest places of the planet."
He nodded listening to her, knowing she wasn't done.
"All I'm saying is...whatever this is...we need to be careful. I don't know if I would go as far as to say that I love you at the moment-"
He looked away but back to her when she placed her smaller hand on his cheek.
"But I do care for you Demetri, more than I have for anyone and I don't want to lose that or you. So we have to keep this to ourselves for the time being."
He nodded and moved as the door opened, he was sitting at the foot of her bed, his hand resting on her shin as she sat up slowly, she looked at Marcus and Sasa as they entered after Jeff, Pocket bringing up the rear. Ali zeroed in on the two specialists.
"Any word?"
"None yet. I would assume our job is to investigate the site that I found last time I was hear and report back."
Ali nodded at Sasa's answer and swung her legs from the bed. Standing she stretched and looked at the others, they all seemed tired and bruised from the run in on the plane but nothing they couldn't handle.
"Let's get started."
It was high noon when they reached the town they were looking for, Ali blinked as the horse she was on threw it's head to and fro as if trying to determine which way was best to run. Sasa could be heard coming up the last sand dune, her complaining would have made Ali smile if not for the sight in front of her.
"Why the hell did we have to ride horses? I can't feel my ass. I know a car wouldn't make it in this head but did it have to be horses with hard saddles and.....What the hell?"
Sasa was next to Ali now looking down at the thriving town that was missing the first time she came to visit. Ali could make out fat cattle in the distance, she could smell crisp clean water from the town. Vegetation grew all over the town as she spotted crops ready for harvesting.
"Sasa, are you sure this is the same placed you came to? They same place that was complaining of the ten plagues?"
"Positive. The longitude and latitude match it perfectly."
Ali shrugged looking back at the others.
"Time to find out what's going on."
Nudging her horse forward she cursed as the animal reared up throwing her off, she rolled out of the way as it's heavy hooves came down in the soft sand where she had been laying moments ago, she grunted as the animal pranced in a small circle before dashing the way they had come in a cloud of dust. Sitting up she threw her hands down in the said and threw a handful of it in the direction the beast had run.
"Coward!"
She looked up as a shadow passed by her, squinting against the sun she took the hand offered to her and allowed herself to be pulled up to sit behind Demetri. Wrapping her arms around his waist she took the excuse to be close to the man as the wind picked up, the desert getting ready to deliver another sand storm. She buried her face into his back and took comfort in the simple action. The team rode for another twenty minutes before they passed the threshold of the small town and instantly the wind and sand were gone. Ali looked up and blinked.
"Alright, first note of something not right with this place. It's as if there is a giant shield here."
She reached out with her powers and frowned when she got nothing, although there were people all around her as they busied them selves with everyday life. She felt Demetri jump as she reached into his pocket quickly and grabbed his phone.
"Sasa, Demetri's phone died last night, you think you can charge it for him real fast in case he needs it?"
Sasa rolled her eyes and extended her hand for the phone.
"Easy. I'm insulted you would ask something so simple from me."
"Just do it."
The tone in Ali's voice made the others look in her direction, it was urgent with a steely note to it. As Sasa took the phone from her hands Ali watched as nothing happened, no jolt, no sarcastic smile of victory from accomplishing her task Sasa sat there on her horse looking at the phone as if it was the cause of every problem she had in life.
"It's not working. I can't do anything. This is bull-"
"Hush!"
Sasa looked up at her and frowned as Ali dropped from the back of Demetri's horse and pulled her cloak tighter around her.
"I think it's this town, I think it negate all our powers...like a shield of some kind. Spread out and see if you can find the source."
Demetri and the other nodded but the frown on the large man's face told her he didn't like the idea and as everyone went separate ways keeping their walkie talkies on to keep in contact he slid off his horse and stood in front of her blocking the sun with his large frame.
"I don't like this. What if it's-"
"It's not. It's just this place Demetri. Once we figure this out we can go home and rest for a bit. Alright?"
He nodded, the deep frown still in place, shaking her head she took a step forward and rose on her toes, touching her lips to his in a feather light, but unmistakable kiss she touched her fingers to his lips and tucked her head under his chin as he stood there stunned for a moment.
"Trust me Demmy. Just this once."
Before he could argue she was gone, her warmth and soft touches with her. Ducking behind a small stone house she looked around and threw her cloak to the ground grabbing one of a different color off of some ladies cloths line, she turned as she felt a small gust of wind and took a deep breath.
"Well now, what's this? On your own?"
"What are you doing here?"
"Always business with you."
Ali felt bile rise in her throat as Sybille extended his hand to her.
"Come with me, I'll show you."
Swallowing her contempt she took his hand, it was cold and instantly she felt an emptiness flow from him to her. He led her through the town, keeping their heads down as they passed Sasa, looking like to of the townspeople she didn't suspect anything, he stopped in front of the church and led her inside. The rafters were full of dust and cobwebs, the wood was decaying and full of termites and the smell of blood bogged down her senses.
"You see this is where it happens. I have to find a pure woman, or man, either way; with no evil in their hearts and use them here. Once I do that, well you'll see. But before we get to the that. I want you to teach me how to master your power."
"I can't, I haven't mastered it yet either."
"I thought you would say that. You have a rather strong ability, able to find people just from their emotions, read their dreams if the emotions are high enough...even control the emotions and moods of others, it's impressive. But there is level beyond that. A hidden talent that I plan to unlock soon, very soon. But since that is a lost venture, let us begin."
Ali watched as he took out a twisted dagger and motioned for her to stand next to him.
"If I do what you want, will you leave my ream alone?"
"I will, for a time. But I can not guarantee that what I unleash will be as giving as my self."
"What you unleash? What does that-"
She yelped as he grabbed her hand and drug the dagger across her wrist, the cut deep and bleeding heavily, he squeezed her hand tightly making it bleed more as he held it over a small alter in the middle of the church.
"You shall see little girl, I hope your friends love a good time, cause this will be a blast."
He disappeared as the ground began to shake, she could hear screams from the towns people as the quaking began to get worse, holding her bleeding wrist she stumbled to the entrance and kicked open the doors, looking out she could see dust rising from the dunes surrounding the town. She looked this way and that for one of her team but saw no one, no doubt they had regrouped as soon as it had started. She began to walk slowly towards the fountain in the middle of the town stopping as she passed a water trough for the cattle, the water was red and thick, sticking her hand in, she gasped as it came back out coated with the red liquid.
"Blood....?"
She spun around looking for the others, the quick movement making her disoriented and dizzy, looking down she saw the sand at her feet red with the blood the dripped from her wrist, her weight shifting to the right she began to fall towards the sands as the voice of Sybille carried on the wind that blasted through the town.
"Let's play a little game dear members of the HDF, I spy with my little eye a lovely brunette laying face first in the sand, weak and bleeding, the sand covering her body let us see if you can spot her before I can bury her."
His cackle vanished as the wind picked up tossing sand this way and that.

Alright, Lilt is gonna be busy for a little while longer, but she isn't gone for good. Let's all keep Pocket in this and active til she gets back. Also, as of right now we're up against the plagues of Egypt, soon we find out there is a small underground area under the town. We're going there next to investigate. This is where Sybille's plan comes into place. I don't really care who gets us there or how but once there we find a large mural that takes up an entire wall side of the labyrinth below. I'll take it from there. Also, make sure to check the backstage. I have another challenge coming up for our team that I think you all might enjoy. ^^

I will be absent tonight due to military reason but do not fret, I will be back tomorrow so til than just run amuck and have some fun. Just don't get carried away without me. lol. Edited by Knuckles' Girl

The sands swirled around the town with such violence it seemed the buildings would be ripped from their foundations. If this was only the beginning, than their lives were about to be ripped from their bodies in the most violent way possible. By the time the sands had reach their current levels, the team had take refuge in an old chapel that seemed to be holding against the violence going on out there. Marcus stood by the door, he needed the time to think about what Sybille was doing and what legend he was trying to bring to life. If what was going on out anything that Marcus suspected, then the worst was yet to come and Sybille started something nearly impossible to control. He could see Pocket slowly pacing as thoughts raced through her head, she seemed close to hysterics but maintained control well. Sasa and Jeff took to one of the benches with their emotionless faces that reflected nothing of their inner thoughts, and Demmy showed more rage than Marcus thought safe in someone of his size and power. He noticed Demmy was eyeing the door and Marcus occasionally, their eyes met at one point and Marcus could see the resolve in them. He was going to go for the door, and one way or the other, he was going to leave and find Ali. Marcus moved from his station at the door and walked over to Sasa and leaned over to speak into her ear over the sound of the wind.

"May I see your machete Arisa?" She eyed him wearily, reaching behind her she pulled it out silently and flipped it in her hand, handing it over to him handle first. Marcus bowed a with a small smile on his face and walked over to Demmy, seeing how he looked read to move now.

"Would you remove your shirt please?" Demetri looked at him with a somewhat confused look.

"I am well aware of what you plan to do Wind Warrior, if you are going to survive out there, I can provide you all with some protection but I need you to set the example since I am just a specialist assigned to your team." Demetri looked to the others before he pulled off his shirt and looked down at Marcus.

"Alright, if this will help us find her, do what you have too." Marcus bowed his head slightly and lifted the machete, Demetri kept his eyes focused on Marcus face as he waited for the blade to touch his flesh. The pain never arrived, he witness instead, Marcus cutting a deep wound into his right forearm. He set the machete down and dipped his other hand in the blood and started to draw on the giants chest. It was very intricate, full of curves and sharp edges as Marcus had to repeatedly dip his hand in the blood. When he finished he scrawled a smaller version on both of his arms and one on his back. When they were all down Marcus kept his gaze on Demmy.

"I'm not sure what is out there for certain, but this will still protect your body and mind from the violence of the storm and Sybille. Your powers may still not work but mine do and you can at least lay one of your massive fists into his fat, ego filled head."

"Why do your powers work, and ours don't? You should be just as weak as the rest." Marcus showed a grin to the soldier.

"Mine work simply because I am only a tool of something that existed long before we all did. My strength is older than the HDF and all the operatives, so, i'm not effected in the same ways as you are. That's part of the reason I was picked to be part of your team, others will be brought up with your leader, Ali." Demmy took in the information, trying to understand it but quickly disregarding it for later since it matter little right now.

"Why your blood Marcus? Why not mine or anyone else? You'll like bleed out from that wound."

"Die? Not likely, i'll actually have to cut another one if you look."Demmy looked to the wound and saw it actually closing back up. Surprise registered across his face.

"These runes do more than giving me a pretty complexion. They charged my blood with magic, enough power to heal minor wounds. Lost limps and such are beyond my ability and I don't want to try to see if I can grow any. My blood, being charged, is the reason I use only mine. And, just as Sybille knows, blood is the strongest bond for magic and with it, we'll take him out." Marcus bowed and turned to the others.

"If you will allow me, I would like to adorn all of you in these runes. After that, we should all leave this chapel and begin our search. As we speak, its likely Sybille has Ali and the sands will bury us all if we don't find her. Do you accept?" Marcus waited only a few moments before Jeff stepped up, removing his coat and shirt Marcus reopened the wound and started the scrawling immediately on his body. Sasa was next, he adorned her in a smaller version of the symbol on her chest so that he could avoid any awkward touching on his part. Pocket was the last to do it, not for a lack of courage, but a bit of embarrassment. He reassured her as he put on the runes, when he was finished with Pocket, he cleaned the machete on his robe and handed it back to Sasa who sheathed it silently. When that was all done with he walked to the door way and removed his sandals and his robe, only holding on to the sash and wrapped it around his waist. Standing before them all in just his loin cloth, he gave them all a great big smile.

"Time for the fun part." Marcus swung open the doors to the chapel and raced out into the swirling sands, his mind focusing in on finding Sybille, and maybe Ali in the process. Edited by Dassem Ultor

Ali stirred, her vision was cloudy and her breathing was choked off as she tried to spit the grit of sand from her mouth. She sat up slowly groaning as pain lanced from her right hand, looking down she could see the thick coagulated blood across her wrist, blood still seeped slowly from the gash Sybille had put there. She thought back to the dagger he had used, it was evil looking, black and red. Something clicked in her mind and she brought our her palm pad and touched the screen bringing up the internet quickly. Touching the surface she began searching through Ancient Egyptian gods, before she could finish what she was looking for a deep voice made her drop back to the sand. The man that strode in front of her line of sight made her blood run cold. He was red, almost as if he were covered in flames but his face kept shifting from something human to something animalistic. Blinking she looked harder, his hands were shaped like giant claws and eyes were black. His skin looked as if it were being burned away from the flames covering his body and regenerating almost instantly. She ducked down further as Sybille appeared infront of the strange man like creature and took a knee.
"My master."
"Are you the one who released me?"
"Yes My lord."
"You realize you have released five of us, not just I."
"My lord?"
"As I am grateful you let me free, Bast, Maat, Hike, and As; along with myself, have been set upon this land. You were not specific when you called me and now I have my fellow gods on this land with me. Some will not be on my side."
The wind around Ali suddenly stopped, a young man stood not far from Sybille and the fiery man, the young man was dressed in tan linen clothes, his hair shaved, his eyes were line elegantly with Khol, an egyptian eye liner almost. And even though they were in the desert the young man didn't look bothered by the heat in the last. His copper toned skin didn't seem to be sweating at all. Frowning Ali watched on more confused than anything. The Fiery man took a step forward giving the younger man a wicked grin, she could see fangs in the man's mouth.
"As, my brother, it has been such a long sleep, should we not have a glass of wine and converse?"
"Set, what are you doing?"
The man, Set, frowned and looked to his right as Sybille still stayed motionless with one knee in the sand.
"This young human released us. It seems his wish is an earth cleansing. I shall give it to him."
"Brother, you realize Bast and Maat will not join you, and it'll will all you can do to convince Hike. And if Osairis and Anubis get wind of this you will never succeed."
"Than they shall not. Are you going against me brother?"
"No. I have stood by you for this long. I will not leave in fear of the others. Once you are at your peak power none of them will be able to stop us."
Set smiled again and looked down at Sybille.
"Human, do you wish to serve me?"
"Yes My Lord."
"What do you want in return for awakening me."
"I have a power My Lord, one I wish I could use to it's full potential."
"And what power would this be?"
"A mental power, one that can feel emotions and even control them. I would wish that it were at it's full potential."
"As you wish."
Set put his hand over Sybille's head and Ali watched as Sybille stood, smiling, pointing at a rock not from him Ali watched as it slowly rose into the air and flew into his open palm.
"Thank you master."
"You are mine now boy. I will use you til I have no need of you and at that time I will...release you from my service. Attempt to run and I will kill you."
Sybille put a hand over his heart and bent his head forward.
"Master."
As took his place behind Set and looked back seeing Ali.
"The girl."
Set turned and pinned Ali with his red eyes that shifted from human to beast within the flames that harmlessly licked his body.
"Bury her As. Her friends are coming and all I want them to find is a desert. Better yet, suck the moisture from her body and leave her here. If they find her like that they will be reluctant to follow."
Ali's eyes widened as As took a step forward, pushing herself to her feet she sprinted in the other direction wanted to put as much space between the men and her and the men.
"As, never mind, we don't have the time. Hike has arrived."
They vanished in a swirl of sand taking Sybille with them, Ali didn't bother trying to look where they went as she ran, turning the corner she slammed into something large, grunting she looked up as Demetri caught her, Jeff, Sasa, Pocket were behind him, she could see he had brought up a wind shield to protect them from As's whirl wind he left as he left. Ali felt tears collect in her eyes as she looked at all of them and dropped to her knees sobbing; not caring about her composure. Demetri and Pocket were beside her trying to comfort her as Sasa and Jeff seemed shocked at her display.
"I-I was actually scared...really trully scared...He..Sybille he..."
She jumped gripping Demetri's shirt tight as Marcus dropped from the building above them. He pulled Ali to her feet and pinned her with an angry look.
"What did you allow him to summon? What was it?"
Ali flinched as he grabbed her hand and brought it up to look at her wrist, his anger fading little by little.
"What did he summon."
Bast, Hike, Maat, As and...Set."
Marcus dropped her hand and motioned for them all to follow, Demetri put his arm under Ali's to help her as she stumbled, her vision still fuzzy from blood lose. As he took them to the chruch Sybille and had taken her to she couldn't help by feel nervous, but as Demetri pulled her closer it melted some. He stopped as he saw the small alter covered in her blood. The others a foot behind him as he moved slowly forward. The only warning they had was the loud cracking as the floor boards gave way and they fell into darkness. After a few moments of being lost Ali dug out a pack of matches and lit one. The room was small and round and she squinted her eyes as a mural slowly came into view.
"Demetri, can you make me a torch?"
She could hear him shred a piece of his shirt off, she glanced back and felt her cheeks heat as she caught a glimps of the skin on his stomach, shaking her head lightly she watched as he picked a piece of broken wood and wrapped the cloth around it, grabbing one of the rusted lamps that fell with them he smashed the worthless thing and covered the cloth in the leftover oil dripping out. He held it out to her and she touched the match to it just as it was about to reach her fingers. The make shift torch came to life and she heard Marcus let out a soft curse.
"What is it?"
"He summoned the gods."
Pocket shook her head smiling.
"You mean, like gods? Worshiping kind of gods?"
"Egyptian gods. And the one he wanted was Set. He's cleansing the earth."
"What do you mean?"
Ali stepped up looking at the mural, she could see the burning man there, a human on one knee in front of him and as the painting went on she could see where her blood had fallen between the floorboards to drip onto the face of Set, it was glowing slightly.
"When a human releases one of the gods they are granted 3 requests."
Pocket spoke up again.
"Like a giene?"
"No, at the end of the agreement, the god takes the human's soul back to the underworld with it as payment to the ferry man. He will die."
Ali shook her head.
"What did you mean by a cleansing?
"I think he wants to kill all the humans."
"What about him?"
"Technically, we're not human. We're altered."
Ali gasped.
"You mean he wants to leave just us with a mutation?"
"Correct."
Ali grabbed the phone from Sasa's side.
"Hey!"
"You'll live Sasa."
She punched in a name and waited for an answer.
"Cloak, we need extraction, have a med team and a recharge team waiting for us. I think we know what he's up to."
She felt as if her stomach was being sucked from her as darkness clouded over them and within moments they were in the underground base. Hank strode forward, she watched as his eyes locked with Demetri's and felt the tension grow but he pinned her with a look.
"What did you find?"
Ali closed her eyes and took a deep breath, opening them she blinked rapidly as her vision swam and her head throbbed. Gritting her teeth in pain she closed her eyes again and groaned as her head swam. Dropping to her knees she fell to her side, her hands clutching her head in pain as he breathing became labored. The med team was beside her instantly looking her over.
"She's exhausted, she's lost alot of blood and she seems to have an infection due to some kind of poison. We'll have to take her to the med ward and she'll have to remain there for at least a week. We have to counter the poison, a transfusion for blood loss and allow her time to regain her strength."
Hank looked at the others and crossed his arms.
"I'll be debriefing you all in due time. Wait in the white room til I call you."
With that he left as the med team carried Ali on a stretcher to the med ward for treatment.

The team watched in horror as their team leader was whisked away by the med team, all wondering about her condition as she left the area, Demitri clenched his fists right, despite his sore arm he still had strength to show his anger. Marcus was escorted by a couple of soldiers to have a small side conversation with Commander Hank, talking quietly so no one in the area could hear about their words, it was probably about their recent mission and the update of Sybille. Demitri thought Marcus was a good team member in the field, but he didn't know if he had close ties with Commander Hank or not, still, he was somewhat suspicious. Jeff made a surprising move and went to stand next to Demiti, folding his arms and looking around slowly, the area they were in was fully surrounded by personnel they all knew and lackey level guards. Jeff looked up at his angry team mate without saying anything.

"If you have something to say, say it. Otherwise, I have no time to read your mind" Demitri snorted, still nothing came from Jeff as he spoke up.

"They're bringing in the big guns" Jeff spoke as he pointed to the shadows of the hallway from the north side of their location, out of that passage way came two soldiers. Sergent Mike, the Flame Master and joining him was Commander Anthony, the Mentalist. Two of the most ruthless and vile mercenaries to be enlisted in the HDF force, and they both were under Commander Hank's protective wing. Both higher ranked officers stopped in front of Demitri and Jeff with a grim smile on their faces as they both stood their ground.

"Well well, never thought this would happen. But, this is quite a situation you've gotten yourself into Demitri" Anthony snickered a bit.

"Situation? Are you talking about our last mission, we got more information like ordered. What situation are you talking about?" Demitri raised his eyebrow in confusion, standing tall next to his team mate. Sergent Mike simply laughed as Commander Anthony reached in his pocket for a piece of folded paper, he extending his hand towards the two subordinates. It was Jeff who took the paper first and began to read it after he opened it, scanning quickly like usual he was a bit caught off guard by the contents, finally he handed over the paper to Demitri who read the document. After a mintue his blood was boiling, he was confused and outraged by this insult, crumpling the paper in his fist he finally spoke. "A warrent for my arrest???" Demitri shouted, everyone in the area heard him, turing to look over his shoulder, Demitri eyes gazed upon Commander Hank. "What is the meaning of this??" Commander Hank excused himself from Marcus rudely, pussing past his shoulder as he made his way to the small group.

"Yes, you are to be detained and sent to the brig for interrogation, there have been some loop holes in your past mission that need addressing, and you're the only one we can think of that would be sly enough to walk away unnoticed by your peers. The signature for the warrant is signed under my name" Hank stood behind Demitri with the same stern face he gave Ali right before their Mission. Pocket and Sasa stood next to Marcus as they all overheard the conversation.

"The one who should be arrested should be you!" Demitri turned and threw the paper back at Hank's face, angering the Commander.

"HOW DARE YOU!! GUARDS, DETAIN DEMITRI ATHENS FOR INSUBORDINATION IMMEDIATELY" The regular soldiers and other special soldiers stood still, they couldn't believe that Demitri was in trouble for anything, but that didn't stop Hank's lackey's, Demtri could feel heat at his back. Sergent Mike sent a fire blast towards him while he wasn't noticing, but it was Jeff who stopped the blast mere inches away from connecting with his team mate. Using all his strength, Jeff sent the fire back to Sergent Mike, hitting him in the face, causing the man to stumble back and rub his eyes. Demitri didn't waste time as he sent a couple of wind slice attacks towards Commander Anthony, cutting him at the mid line of his neck and shoulder area. There was a casting of the light for a moment as everyone looked to see that Cloak had come back from Egypt with their personal belonging, Demitri's heart faced as he remembered the book he was highlighting inside while they were on their trip. Quickly thinking, Demitri grabbed hold of Jeff adn pushed his way past Commander Hank, knocking the man down on the floor as he made his way towards his belongings, Commander Cloak was caught off guard as Demitri picked up his backpack and continued to run. "GUARD, RESTRAIN DEMITRI!!" Cloak looked at Commander Hank as he mentioned something to Commander Anthony, who only gave a grim smile as he made chase with the rest of the solders. Before leaving the area, Demitri grabbed Sasa and Pocket and placed the two girls over his shoulder, using his wind powers he accelerated his speed ten fold and ran through the hallways in a blur, making a couple of sharp turns here and there before he stopped and set everyone down on their feet. Demitri knelt down and began to go through his bag quickly.

"What are you doing Demmy? This is not a smart way to deal with Commander Hank" Sasa shouted, Demitri ignored her warnings as he finally took a a hold of his book and brought it out smiling. He extending his book over to Pocket.

"Now listen to me carefully Pocket, I need you to hide this for me without question, when you all have free time, read it THOROUGHLY. You got that?" Demitri flinched a little when he heard footstep echoes in the hallways, the soldiers were coming quicker than he thought.

"What will happen to you?" Pocket asked.

"I'll probably be sent to the brig, but thats not important now. Check up on Ali and make sure she's well protected, I dont care if you all have to take shifts to make sure she's not alone. Just do as I say." Pocket too the book and projected it inside of her mind, out of the corner of the groups eyes they saw Commander cloak appear, his cape flowing in the air as he landed on the ground from his transportation.

"Demitri my friend, this is mad." Cloak spoke.

"I need you to have faith in me, please. You know this is not something I would do if I didn't have a reason. Please Roger...trust me and take them to safety" Demitri stood on his feet again as the echoes became louder. Cloak only nodded as the group got close to him, his cape encircled everyone until they were gone, then cloak himself vanished into thin air. The soldiers arrived, blocking Demitri in from both his left and right side. Commander Anthony walked a path in between them as he smiled.

"This will be fun, I can assure you of that" With that, Anthony motioned for his soldiers to attack, one by one they fell until finally one got ahold of Demitri's arm, then his legs, then more dog piled on the soldier. Back in the common living quarters, Cloak appeared with the other members of Ali's team, all landing on their feet softly as they looked around, noticing they were pretty much "home." Pocket manifested the book from her mind and handed it to Jeff, who went to reading right away, he noticed the highlighted parts started on Chapter 2, taking out a paper and pen Jeff began to translate the message.

"I do not know what is so important that Demitri would risk a stunt like this, but I will leave it to you for now. But I will be informed late, is that clear?"

"Yes sir" Sasa and Pocket spoke simultaneously, with that, Cloak vanished once again. 3 hours later Jeff had translated the message and read it thoroughly, it contained all the information about Commander Hanks involvement with the murdering of the witnesses from the southern base, the bug he was slipped so he couldn't tell any information to anyone, the threats hes made against Ali, everything to this point. Jeff's eyes widened for a moment before he collected his cool. He passed the note to Pocket and Sasa, both reading and shocked by the news. Down below the HDF base was a secret interrogation room used only by commanding officers, there, underneath a plain light bulb sat Demitri, legs and wrists restrained by the chair he sat in, along with a leather strap around his chest that secured him to his seat. Out of the shadows came Commander Hank and Anthony, Anthony smiled and it seemed he was drooling at the mouth a little, a sickening man.

"Do what you must, but I want answers now." Hank left the two, Commander Anthony, the Mentalist's eyes turned black as he sent mental jolts to Demitri. The soldier felt his body weighed tons and sharp pain in his head arose quickly. Demitri shouted with all his might at the pain as he struggled in his chair, but more and more attacks came to him. In the med ward, Ali recently came out of surgery, but she was still fighting off an infection. Oddly enough, every time Demitri yelled in pain, her fingers seemed to twitch exactly at the same time.

Ali came to slowly, her head pounding as she groaned. Cracking open her eyes she looked around the room and closed the again against the bright lights of the med room she was in. She opened them again slowly this time and tried to sit up, a sharp pain that went through out her entire body made her drop back into the pillows and grit her teeth but as suddenly as it came it was gone. Finally able to sit up she took a look around and was more than a little sad to see that none of her team was there with her, at the very least she would've enjoyed seeing Demetri when she woke up. Taking a deep breath she hissed as another wave of pain shot through her body.
"What the hell?"
Pressing her palm to her forehead she let a deep frown crease her brows as the door opened and the all to familiar presence of Commander Hank flushed in.
"Alex, how are you feeling?"
"Well enough I suppose. I keep getting sharp pains though."
"I'll let the medical staff know, what did you find out?"
"Always to the point aren't you?"
"Well you see, I have to know. There are things missing in the report that Athens gave us."
"What do you mean by missing?"
"Oh just things. Now, tell me what happened?"
"We did as we were told, Sybille found us there. He summoned...gods."
"Gods? Which gods do you believe he summoned?"
"I don't 'believe' he summoned them, I know he did. I was there. As, Hike, Maat, Bast, and...Set."
"He released Set? Interesting."
Ali glared as she saw a spark in the man's eyes, one she disliked even more than the man himself.
"What are you so excited about?"
"How did he do it?"
"Excuse me?"
"How did he summon them?"
Ali extended her arm to show the twisted man her wrist and hissed as he took it in a strong grip, his touch sending fire across her skin and making her grit her teeth in pain. Her mind went blank and flashes began to run across her eyes as if she were watching a movie. Demetri sitting in a chair, restrained and screaming as Anthony stood over him smiling wickedly. She returned to the med room with Hank.
"How interesting. He used your blood to summon them, a life sacrifice as it were. Tell me Talon, are you still a virgin?"
"I really don't see how that is any of your damn business."
"It's an order."
"Yes."
"So the blood of a pure woman...I see. Well the ample amount of information you have given us has made the senior generals very happy. Therefore I will be assigning Sasa and Marcus to your team indefinitely. It seems that they filled the gaps you had and made you a real team. I will be announcing you as our new Alpha Team of the company."
"And when will this be exactly."
"Tonight, at the annual HDF ball. It is mandatory you all attend."
"And if I'm not out by than?"
"You will be. I'll be sending Patch in within the hour to get you back on your feet."
"Alright, what about the others, where are they?"
"They are being detained until I can get the proper stories from them. You will see them tonight."
Ali hissed as her body lanced with pain again, the vision of Demetri strapped to a chair in agony.
"Where is Demetri?"
"Athens? He's being questioned at the moment, some statements in his report were faulty."
"Like what?!"
"just a few statements he made."
"If your referring to him disclosing what that your blackmailing him, I figured that out on my own."
"I see. In that case, you'll be joining him."
"What?!"
"It seems you two need to be reeducated."
"What does that mean?"
"No worries, you'll both be done in time for the ball."
Ali gasped as two soldiers came in and grabbed her, pulling her from the bed they took her down to the bottom level of the base, as the solid door swung open she could hear Demetri call out in pain.
"What are you doing to him?"
"You'll see."
Ali gasped as they took her into the room holding Demetri and sat her down in a chair much like his, looking over at him she saw the anger flare in his eyes.
"Why is she here? She's injured!"
Hank stepped forward.
"You two seem to be in over your heads. This is far beyond what you two can comprehend."
"So what happens now?"
She felt as if electrical current was coursing through her body, gritting her teeth she held it in til the pain was to much, gripping the arms of her seat she screamed as tears gathered in the corners of her eyes. Suddenly it stopped and she slumped forward in her chair. Hank stepped forward as Demetri began to call out in pain, Ali shook her head and pinned Hank with a glare.
"Enough! What do you want from us?"
"Do as I say, with no hesitation. You'll be like my dogs, obeying my commands with out biting the hand that feeds you."
"What else is there?"
"Do not question me. You'll do as I say, when I say it and won't give me gruff about it."
Ali looked at Demetri, he shook his head slowly, she knew he didn't like it anymore than she did but she refused to sit by and watch him or any of the others be tortured because of it.
"Fine."
"Ali, don't."
She pinned him with a look and glanced back at Hank.
"We'll go along with this madness, on one condition."
"Oh? And what's that?"
"You'll leave the others out of this."
"Done. Anthony, release them."
Ali rubbed her wrists as she stood, Demetri next to her glaceing at Hank.
"Both of you get ready for the ball, you have a few hours."
Demetri nodded and took a step forward as Ali stood where she was.
"Where are the others?"
Pain erupted behind her eyes and she fell to her knees yelping in pain, Demetri dropping to her side instantly.
"Stop this! It was a simple question!"
Ali grabbed his wrist and squeezed it as the pain intensified, Anthony standing over her a wicked grin spreading on his features as he looked down on Ali.
"Commander Hank said no questions."
Hank waved the man off and smiled down at the two.
"Enough Anthony. They understand now. You're both dismissed, get ready and we will see you both tonight."
Demetri scooped up Ali and stalked from the room and up the stairs, he ran into Cloak as they entered the main section, he took them to the others without a word. Ali took a deep breath as the pain slowly receded, Pocket already standing next to Demetri.
"We're fine, just a bad incoming with Anthony is all. You guys know how he is. We have a new mission."
They all groaned in disappointment.
"It's not what you think, We're going to the HDF ball tonight. Hank will be announcing us as the new Alpha team. Sasa and Marcus are now part of the team indefinitely. We're to get ready immediately."
Pocket looked at her as Jeff brought the note forward, Ali shook her head and took it from him and crumpled it into a tight wad.
"Don't worry about that. Demetri and I can handle it. This is an order, none of you are to go out of your way to try and figure anything out. We've got it covered. When he learn more we
ll find a way to let you know. Til than, get ready."
They all gave an affirmative as Demetri set Ali down, she looked up and gave him a sad smile, reaching up she cupped his cheek gently.
"We'll figure it out Demetri, together. I promise. But right now we have to deal with the task at hand so I'll see you at the ball."
He nodded as she walked away and to her own room to get ready.

"You've done good work so far Marcus." Commander Hank said to him as he pulled him away from the team. He knew the tactic Hank was imploring, he would put the pinch on Ali and Demetri as much as he could, even with a simply tactic of pulling Marcus aside alone. He knew, and couldn't lie about it, he didn't always try to form relationships under the most honest terms. This was one of those times, Marcus' charisma was influential enough that made him a useful enough tool to get into a team. But, this time the situation had changed, this team was after Sybille and they did their job with genuine quality that few teams achieved before reaching peak performance. They only walked a few feet away before Hank stopped them and kept talking.

"Your reports of what you suspected was going on was more accurate than expected. They were lacking some material, but it'll be soon enough we find out the rest." Marcus simply nodded before speaking.

"Yes sir, I'm aware of what transpired out there after Ali was taken. I do have a few suggests on the next course of action sir." Hank grinned and nodded before turning when Anthony and Mike appeared. Marcus' face hardened when they looked to him, he knew them from long before and they hardly changed with age. He personally would prefer to have them killed now and he would gladly do the honor. Unfortunately, Hank kept them under his protection and that was plainly significant why he kept them around so it was no surprise when the two approached Demetri. Talking low enough that they couldn't hear from their distance, but anyone closer could. He suddenly heard Demetri talk about the paper and Hank roughly pushed his way passed Marcus. Marcus watched the scene unravel as Demetri fought back, Jeff helping him out and watching him take off with Sasa and Pocket thrown over his shoulder. Cloak had appeared and pursued the team. Marcus was about to race after them when Hank grabbed his shoulder and spun him around.

"You need to keep a close eye on him Marcus. You know why we put YOU in the team, you can survive anything they throw, you can keep them out of your mind. Meet me in the war room in 20 minutes, I have to talk to Demetri and dear Ali. Do not be late, Warded Man." Marcus simply nodded as Hank walked off to a lower area, knowing where he was going Marcus couldn't stand it and turned away. He walked to the war room immediately, his sandals taping lightly on the ground as tried to contain himself. The rage threatened to overwhelm him, it was maddening to have been part of this plan, but he was getting desperate for missions that invovled Sybille. And no other team had come closer to him than this one, he needed to stay with them and needed to earn their trust legitimately and they needed to get out from under Hanks thumb. He had been told about Demetri through Hank, it made the situation difficult and made team work tenuous. Marcus made it to the room and seated himself, a long table and chairs were the only thing that adorned the room. He waited patiently, time slipped by slowly as Marcus took to drawing symbols into the dust on the table, idly waiting for his 'commander' to arrive. What seemed like ages finally came to an end when the door opened and in walked Commander Hank and Cloak. Cloak sat right across from Marcus while Hank sat a seat away from Cloak looking at Marcus.

"Alright Mr. Demos, what was your suggestion?" Marcus looked up at the Earth Fighter, stilling slowly drawing in the dust.

"First sir, I would like to inquire about what you know about the mission specifically. I can than fill in what I have to make this quicker." Hank leaned forward while Cloak stayed leaned back in the chair with his hands laced together. Marcus could feel the uncertainty from Cloak has Hank began.

"We know that Sybille managed to summon gods from their sleep, more specifically As, Hike, Maat, Basst, and Set have risen from their tombs. From the report we can see that Sybille has aligned himself with Set and As. From what we understand, he has decided to 'cleanse' the earth. Other than that, it comes down to what you have for me." Marcus nodded to confirm the information.

"Very good Hank. Well, my suggestion would be that we fight him on even terms."

"What do you mean by that Captain?" Marcus couldn't help but chuckle, Hank didn't use his rank unless to try to put him in his place.

"I mean, we talk to a god and someone makes a deal with him. There will be more than just those five roaming around if we play our cards right. If given the proper amount of time, I could perform the ritual and try to speak to one at least. But, if we are looking to keep the human population alive and fairly ignorant of our organization, than this seems like the proper course of action in my opinion." Hank was leaning forward on the table, fingers laced together as he listened to Marcus' proposal. Cloak had stopped leaning back in his chair and sat up straight now, looking at Marcus carefully. That calculating look in his eyes always covered his pleasant nature, Marcus couldn't help but compare them to a pair of operatives he knew back in the day.

"That is all very well said Captain, but we will need time to contemplate your proposal.."

"Which means no way in hell, am I right Commander?" Marcus said, cutting off Hanks sentence. His face darkened for a moment as something gleamed in his eyes, almost like he was looking for a fight from Marcus.

"Like I said, Captain, we will take it into consideration and go over the plan more thoroughly."

"That's not good enough Earth Fighter, this plan needs to be enacted soon or we will miss an opportunity that very well will end life on this planet. I didn't join this service to watch people die I joined...."

"But that is exactly what you did when Sybille became your team leader in Ghost Echo. You let him kill your comrades and absorb their powers, making him the man he is today and you simply were to weak to finish him when you had the chance. You let him talk you into decorating yourself with those runes and symbols just to be his tool!" Marcus rose from his chair, his tattooed face dark and filling with rage and anger. The power whispering in his mind to unleash it, let it blow through this man. Marcus slammed his hand on the table, the runes he drew in the dust flared and the table shattered, sending plastic, wood and metal bits flying into the air. Hank had simply pushed back his chair and avoided most of the shrapnel, Cloak had hardly moved and not gotten a scratch. Marcus' chest heaved with his anger.

"You put me in that position! I watched them die because you deemed him too worthy of being executed! I did this to my body because the world needed to see my sin, to see what i let survive because you gave me an order. I'm for more powerful because of it Earth Fighter, one day I might decided you need to retire and we will see how your lackeys cut it." Hank kept his eyes on him.

"You are now assigned to Ali's team, Alpha Team. You are our new elites now, sound familiar? There is a Ball going on tonight, few hours really, and you and the rest of the team will be there. Dress formally Captain, you need to show your sin one more time." Marcus started to walk out of the room and stopped at the door, turning back to them he looked into Hanks eyes.

"You reminded me of two people i use to know, Shadowthrone and Cotillion. I remember calling him the Rope. Too bad you don't live up to those standards. Maybe i'll see them again one day." Marcus walked out, the only sound was the clicking noise of his sandals. Hank dusted himself off as he rose from his chair.

"You know he can do it Hank." Cloak said carefully.

"He should be in your position commander, your lucky he accepted his lower rank when he did. Less people died because of it." Hank remained still as he looked at the door Marcus just left.

"I'm aware Roger. Good thing I have a few tricks left in case he tries. Lets hope that Shadowthrone and Cotillion really are dead, otherwise we will have to go to the contingency plan." Cloak rose and vanished from the room. Hank remained where he was, the plans rolling through his mind and Marcus walked to his room, looking for something for tonight's facade. Edited by Darth Malgus

Demitri watched as the small group dispersed to their own quarters, the man was still shaken up by the torture treatment he received from the Mentalist, but that wasn't on his mind at the moment. They were all in danger and now both he and Ali had to play by Commander Hank's rules in order to keep everyone safe, taking a deep breath the giant turned and made his way towards his own living area, entering the door and quickly shutting and locking it behind himself. Demitri made it to his bed and fell like a ton of bricks against the cool, crisp sheets he's missed so much ever since they left for Egypt, he'd forgotten how long its been since he was ill that he's been able to enjoy a little slumber. But rest didn't come, thoughts of Commander Hank and his lackeys plagued his mind, along with the newly released Gods that Sybille brought to the world when he used Ali as his gateway. Demitri grunted and sneered when he thought of that man doing her harm, turning to his side he gripped his pillow tightly in anger, trying to block the image out of his mind.

(That bastard, all of them, what the hell is going on?) Demitri thought as he got up from his matress and sat on the edge of his bed, gripping the bed post with both hands as he looked down on the floor. He could find no rest now, it was impossible for him to be at ease, even at his own home base with fellow soldiers and HDF personnel. Demitri's hair hung past his eyes, shadowing his face from any viewers as the man thought more and more about their situation. Demitri finally decided to stand and go to his work station, sitting down at his chair he reached for his personal phone and dialed a number familiar to him. The buzzing sound of the ringing tone seemed to make the giant more tense until a female voice answered on the other line, soft yet caring.

"This is the Med Ward. Demitri Athens, what is your emergency?" The woman spoke, all lines were sent to their computers, no mattered who called they would always know the soldier or civilian calling on their main computers.

"I need to speak with "Touch" please, and it's urgent so I don't have a lot of time" Demitri was short and quick to the point.

"I'm sorry Sir, but Madam Touch is busy in the field with soldiers who are injured, shall I leave a message?" Demitri thought hard about his answer, but decided against it as he replied and hung up the phone. Taking a couple of deep breaths, he picked up the phone again and dialed a number he was surprised he even remembered, the buzzing tone yet again, but the line was answered qucker than he expected, yet again, another female voice on the other end.

"This is the Secretary's office for the Commandant of the Human Defense Force. How may I direct your call?" She answered so professionally.

"This is Demitri Athens, code name: Wind Wizzard. I need to speak to Commandant Pavlos "Shield"...." Demitri cut off his voice at the sound of the secretary typing on her computer. It took a moment for her to answer.

"Yes sir, the Commandant is available for your call, shall I direct you to his office phone Mr. Athens?"

"No, his private line, it's urgent. Confirmations code: 44557629807" Demitri spoke quickly, turning around to see his room was still empty, his confirmation code was to be kept top secret and only to be used in emergencies.

"Yes sir, just one moment" The line went dead for a moment until life came from the other side.

"Demitri, this is unlike you. I just read the report on your brig time under the signature of Commander Hank. What is the meaning of this?" Commandant Shield was stern yet wise in his voice, he too knew something like this was out of the ordinary for this soldier.

"Sir, I didn't know who else to turn to.."

"That is no excuse for such disrespect to a commanding officer Demitri, no excuse at all" Shield spoke, Demitri began to tense his muscles, nothing seemed to work with his explanation. "Now we have to deal with the matter of these newly formed God's that have arisen, I haven't been informed of every detail, but the high counsel will be briefed on the matter"

"Sir, you have to understand I would never do anything so dishonorable to the HDF code, but I had my reasons" Demitri panted, he placing his free hand over his face, his eyes can be seen through the cracks between his fingers. They began to water up a little.

"Demitri, you were trained to be one of the best since the beginning, you've surpassed previous superiors and have turned down countless promotions, even at your own personal expense. Just because you get a little flustered at one Commander's orders is no excuse to behave in such a way. You were insubordinate and out of character, if there something..."

"DAD!!!" Demitri yelled through the phone, silencing the Commandant, something inside of Demitri ached as the soldier lost his composure, streams of tears began to drop down his face and droplets onto his desk. Through the phone he could hear the Commandant gasp in shock, taking a moment the same man could hear some sniffling coming from the other line.

"Demitri my boy, what's the matter? I'm sorry I'm harsh but honestly I'm surprised by your actions then...and now. What's going on son?"

"Dad, I need your help, badly. I couldn't think of anyone else to turn to, and mom is in the field helping soldiers. We have a possible coup detat happening and Commander Hank's part of it. Our missions, our sacrifice, they've been in vain! He's even gone after my own team leader and in my own eyes has tortured her, in front of my own ******* eyes...and there was noting I could do about it. I need you help" Demitri panted through his mouth as he wept more. Pounding his fist into his work desk, the giant couldn't control his emotions anymore, he had wished Ali to be there to help but she was dealing with her own worries at the moment.

"A coup? This is serious, I've wondered why so many of your reports have been, shall we say, limited in detail. Tell me Demitri, have you been hurt?

"Yes" Demitri silently answered. There was a long pause on the other line before Commandant Shield asked another question.

"Have you been hurt by someone at HDF?"

"Yes" This time, a low, angry growl came through his teeth.

"I see. Demitri, go about your business, I shall see both you and your team leader after the ball tonight. She doesn't know the connection between your mother and myself, does she?" He asked speaking silently.

"No father, I don't mention family at all to my team members. But I shall do as you ask, thank you sir". The line went dead on Demitri's phone, slowly he placed his phone back on the hook and went back to his bed for a short rest. Back at the Commandants office, the high commander himself decided to gather personal intelligence on the previous missions his son and his team have had, looking over the dossier's of their failed mission and current one that finished in Egypt. Suddenly, a black shroud entered quietly as Cloak appeared in front of the Commandant's desk at the ready.

"You called for me sir?" Cloak stood tall and presentable to his highest superior.

"My friend, I need some insight on whats been happening with the newly appointed Alpha Team, please take a seat" Shield motioned at the empty chair, Cloak took his place without hesitation.

"Sir, my knowledge is limited, but I suspect foul play is at hand" Cloak spoke quickly and too the point, his recent views of Commander Hank have changed with the events that took place.

"Alright Cloak, I need you to gather all the officers you can TRUST and bring them to me silently, we must find out how Sybille got back into the picture and what the issue is with Commander Hank. His interests with this Ali Talon and my son Demitri, along with the rest of their professional team is more than suspicious. Also, bring in their new team members Marcus and Sasa separate from the others, I need to have a word with them. If Hank thinks he can run a coup under my watch, he'll remember why they call me Pavlos "Shield" Athens, the Commandant of the Human Defense Force!" Commandant Shield smiled, Cloak only stood and smiled as he saluted his commanding officer before vanishing into his own dark cloak. Shield brought up the dossiers of Ali's team one by one and searched though their profiles on the HDF's data system, nothing was amiss and they deserved the newly appointed title that was to be bestowed onto them tonight at the ball. Looking back at all of their special abilities, it finally made sense to him.

"So, they weren't put together by accident, now I understand..."

Hours later after calming down and some well needed rest, Demitri finished dressing for the ball, a black suit with a sleeveless black dress shirt worn under his long black trench coat, the giant slicked his hair back in a pony tail and left his quarters to go down to the ball. Once there, he noticed the party was already started, dancers and co workers having a good time, Demitri noticed Marcus at the other end and decided to go converse with his new team member, grabbing a glass of wine from one of the waitress', he managed to make it past Commander Anthony and Sergent Mike without being noticed before catching up to Marcus

Ali stood in front of her mirror giving her self one more look over. Her dress was a deep royal blue, sleeveless and cut tailored to fit her curves perfectly, trimmed in white and flared at the bottom she had on dark blue heels to match, what worried her the most was her hair. It was loose and hanging in a glossy curtain to the back of her knees, it had subtle blue highlights scattered through it and random waves from a curling iron thrown in as well. Half of it was piled delicately on the back of her head, twisted and curled into a small intricate bun her bangs framing her face carefully. Than there was her make up, her eyes were lined with black making them stand out, she had put a light dust n her cheeks and gloss on her lips. Sighing she took the wave of hair hanging by her eye and glared at her reflection. She didn't like it at all, she hated this. She barely recognized herself and was sure that the others wouldn't know her unless she stomped on their feet. Taking a deep breath she grabbed her sash and threw it over her shoulders and walked out of her room, she stopped as she caught sight of Jeff sitting on the couch.
"Aren't you going?"
He turned and looked at her, his eyes going slightly wider than usual, Ali frowned and put a and on her hip.
"What?"
He shook his head and crossed his arms.
"Fine, just don't take to long. We're all supposed to be there you know that."
He waved her off and just as usual didn't say anything, rolling her eyes she walked out and made her way to the assembly hall where the ball was being held, she stood out side the door fidgeting with her fingers debating on whether to turn and keep Jeff company, that is til she felt a sickening presence behind her.
"Who knew you cleaned up so well Talon."
She stiffened as she felt Hank's large hand on her shoulder, it made her skin crawl and she took a step away from him to break the contact.
"I would thank you but coming from you that compliment makes me want to vomit all over your over priced shoes."
He laughed and pulled her to his side, not giving her much of a choice as he pulled her into the room with himself.
"Hank, I'm going to have to ask that you let me go."
"But Anthony was asking that I bring you to him tonight. He seems to have taken a liking to you."
Ali rolled her eyes and grabbed a large glass of wine off a table as they passed it.
"Oh joy. I'm so lucky."
Her response was monotone and void of emotion but thanks to her powers she could feel everyone that was there and felt her heart beat quicken as she felt Demetri not far away.
"Hank as much as I would absolutely love to join you, I have to tend to my own matters thank you."
She winced as he tightened his grip on her arm and pulled her a little more roughly.
"I don't think so. I have something I need to explain to you before you decided to go off on your own pet."
"Do NOT call me that. I swear to every god known to man I'll kill you where you stand."
Hank did nothing but laugh at her threat as he shoved her into a chair across from Anthony, the man stared at her, the look in his eyes making her shiver. Hank sat down grabbing her attention.
"The matter I wish to talk to you about is rather important and I promise I'll let you go on your own once I'm done."
Ali nodded trying her best to seem as if she were listening as she tried to see if she could project her powers to Demetri, sending him a silent distress signal.
"This will most likely seem personal but hear me out."
Ali blinked and than frowned at the man.
"Personal how?"
"Well you see, Sybille was only able to use you due to the fact that your pure, untainted as it were."
"You mean a virgin?"
Hank nodded lacing his finger together and resting his chin on them as Anthony leered at her.
"I'm going to have to ask you stay that way for a while longer."
"I'm sorry?"
"I'll fit you with a chastity belt if you like."
The laughter in the man's voice made her want to flip the table the smash it into his face.
"I do believe that my personal matters are none of your business."
"I don't care what you believe Dear, if you lose that trait the gods love so much about you we can't figure out how to summon more of them can we."
Ali glared at Hank and Anthony as she took a large drink from her glass, gripping the stem so tight she was sure it was about to break.
"Am I allowed to go and enjoy the evening with the rest of my team?"
"Oh yes, by all means. Just don't have to much fun Talon"
"Shove it up your ass Hank."
Pain shot up her arm causing her to drop the glass in her hand, she watched it shatter as it hit the floor and worse yet felt her cheeks heat as a few people turned to look at her as she bent down and began to carefully pick up the pieces. Hank chuckled behind her.
"You look good in that position Talon."
Ali felt tears of embarrassment gather in the corners of her eyes til the steady and calming presence of Demetri melded into hers. She looked up as he knelt down and began to help her with the pieces.
"Are you alright? Commander Hank can be a little brash at times."
"Yeah I know. I work under him."
"Really? I don't remember seeing you."
Ali rolled her eyes, a small smile coming to her lips as she cleared her throat causing him to look at her, when he did, and when he took in her features his eyes widened comically.
"Alex?"
She smiled and shook her head as she stood, glass pieces in hand and walked with him to the trash can to throw the shards away.
"Yeah Demetri, it's me."
"You look- well that is to say...Uhm."
Ali laced her arm around his as they made their way back to Marcus who took her in with a somewhat stunned expression as well.
"It's alright, I know I look weird."
She sat down at the table closest to them and waited til the two men weren't looking at her, it was than she looked at her arm where Hank had gripped her tightly, there was a subtle bruise forming already, but what was worse is where she was sure Anthony had targeted her for pain, near her wrist, it was red and swollen. Sighing she untied the ribbon around her wrist to hide the bandage and retied it so it wrapped loosely around her forearm as well. Tasteful and subtle. She stood up and leaned into Demetri, feeling him tense slightly.
"I need to talk to you about something Hank just told me. On the balcony in about 15 minutes. Meet me there?"
He nodded slightly and she squeezed his hand quickly and left him, a gentle waft of her mint scent left as she made her way through the crowd avoiding Sasa, Jeff and Pocket as they entered and ducked behind the curtain hiding the balcony from view. She waited silently, right on time the curtain parted and Demetri stepped past it looking to his right to see her leaned on the railing, a small smile set on her lips as she relaxed in the cool night air.
"Ali, what did you want to talk to me about."
She shook her head and turned her back on him looking down at the body of water the base was located next to.
"You know, the more I thought about it, the more stupid it sounds."
"You know you can tell me."
"Yeah. Thing is, it's kind of an embarrassing subject for me."
Demetri didn't comment, merely waited til she was ready to begin again.
"I think Hank plans on using me to summon his own gods."
"What makes you say that?"
"Cause he 'ordered' me to stay 'pure'."
Demetri frowned and took his chin in his hand as he began to process what she had said.
"Don't hurt your self Demetri. In other words he has ordered me to remain a virgin til he no longer needs me, and by the looks of things I'm being given to Anthony as a gift. Hank says that he has taken a liking to me. The way Anthony looked at me a little bit ago...it was unnerving. As if he were figuring out which cut he wanted to take from me and devour first..."
She shuddered at the thought as she let Demetri take in everything she had said.

When Marcus had returned to his room, he hadn't started getting ready yet. It was easy to throw on the clothes he needed, not having hair made life that much easier when he needed to clean up. He instead had taken some quick drying paint he had stored away in his room and began drawing a rune on the floor of his room, it would only take a couple minutes with his steady hand, thankfully just communicating with other beings was easier than trying to bring them forth. Especially Egyptian gods, they needed far too much blood for his liking. One he finished the symbol he undressed down to his loin cloth and set his sandals aside and carefully sat down in the middle of it all. He folded his legs in and focused on a god he shared some sort of kinship with, a god who used his powers to judge whether a soul was worthy or not. Anubis was the only god Marcus imagined he could get a connection with right now. He waited patiently as old words echoed in his mind, some that he knew and others that he was unsure of. And, within moments of the words fading, he was struck with a force that should have thrown him across the room, if not for his protective wards. It filled him with a sense of power and a cold justice that could only come from a god. Marcus tried to calm his breathing but he was being threatened with being overwhelmed and losing himself in the maelstrom of this old god. He slowed his heart, kept his mind focused on one idea and he came back. His eyes opened, he didn't even realized they had closed, and he found he was sheathed in sweat and his breathing came in trembles. The whisperes the old god had left in his mind echoed clearly as if he was talking to him directly.

"Mortal, you have asked me so much with so few questions. The answers will only come with my return, and with my return someone will need to follow the proper rituals for my continued existence in your world..." The echos trailed off from there and Marcus stood shakily from where he sat, he looked down at the symbol and saw that the paint simple evaporated once the connection had been made, it was not strong enough to do what he needed. No matter, he had made contact and made sure he was the first to speak, Hank would simply have botched the whole thing up with his bluntness. Marcus cleaned himself off and dressed for the occasion as best he could. He put on a long sleeve black shirt that he left open about four buttons down. He had a plain pair of dress pants with a belt to secure them, he had rolled the sleeves up to his elbow, and put on a pair of his nicer sandals and walked to the Ball hall. The room as already filled with guests when he arrived, he felt awkward and crowded with so many people around him. He walked over and picked up a glass and sipped at some red wine they had supplied. He stood alone for a time until Demetri appeared and stood beside him. Marcus bowed his head to Demetri with a smile on his face.

"Good to see you Demetri. Its nice to see a face that I actually want to socialize with." Demetri let our a small laugh as he looked Marcus over briefly, noting the sandals and the rolled up sleeves and unbuttoned shirt he raised and eyebrow as he took a sip of his drink.

"Interesting way to dress, i especially like the added touch of the sandals." Marcus looked down at his tattooed feet and toes and wiggled them around a bit.

"Well, I don't own any shoes and they make me feel confined whenever they try to put them on me." They both let out a small laugh as they sipped a bit more on their drinks and the laughter died down. Marcus looked around at the crowd and spoke again.

"I never much liked crowds, always too many faces that end up being familiar in someway."

"Probably doesn't help much that you lived in the desert for so long in a small town." Marcus nodded.

"Very true, small town life changes your perspective." Marcus caught that Demetris attention had changed to look to his right and Marcus looked past him to see what he was staring at. It was Ali talking to commander Hank and his lackey Anthony, Hank had his typical look of a man with far too many plans in his head. Anthony had the same look eh always did, one that wanted to cause pain. When they saw Ali walking away and smash her glass, Demetri went over instantly to help her. Marcus focused in on Anthony, their eyes meeting as Anthony kept the same stupid smile on his face. Marcus pointed at him with his free hand and pulled it back to draw his thumb across his throat, Anthony stood from his chair when Hank held his hand out, forcing him to sit back down. Marcus turned his attention back to Demetri and Ali when they arrived to see her in her stunning dress and his eyes widened slightly.

"It's alright, I know I look weird." Marcus Bowed his head, took her hand and did a light kiss on her hand.

"Weird is not the word I would use. Let us sit for a bit shall we." They all seated themselves and drank their drinks slowly as Marcus felt this awkward tension.

"Sorry if that seemed odd, I didn't mean anything by it but to convey my polite admission." Ali waved it off.

"Oh its not that Marcus, that was a kind gesture. Its just been a long day for everyone." Marcus nodded has he slowly sifted his drink around in his glass. He set the glass down and grabbed a napkin along with pulling out a pen from one of his pockets and started to draw another symbol in a nonchalant way. When he finished he casually sat back and put the pen away, with the napkin in his hand. He activated the rune on the napkin and held it close, when Ali and Demetri had stood he slipped the napkin carefully but quickly, into Demetris pocket. He hoped the rune would dissolve before it was discovered but something told him it wouldn't go to plan, thankfully he had two runes on there that might help the situation. He kept to himself as he drank slowly, hearing the whispers that his rune picked up. hoping their voices grew louder so he could make out what they said more clearly. All he could do for now, was wait and see. Edited by Darth Malgus

"Alex...you know I don't like hearing things like that, especially if you know how deeply you mean to me. I wouldn't let anyone come near you to hurt you, and I hope you of all people understand that. I know being "emotional" on your own terms is hard, but you can sense and control other people's emotions, can't you tell mine are true to what I say by now?" Demitri looked down upon his team leader, the darkness of the sky hid the blue glow from her dress, but by the light that came from inside the ballroom, small shades could be seen clear as it mixed in with the dark night's sky. The man was a bit uneasy saying something like this, but he had to let her know how he felt. "I know you're a strong woman, young, but strong enough to take care of yourself. I just wish sometimes...sometimes that you would let me in if you ever needed it." Ali paused for a moment before taking her gaze off of Demitri's and looking over the balcony to the thick woods that surrounded their base. The trees swayed a little from the light wind gust that blew occasionally, they danced as leaves fell to their unknown destination, either to the earth or in the sky. Demitri also turned to see the scenery, taking a step closer to Ali until they were side by side, touching one another as her shoulder touched his upper arm, Demitri felt relaxed, more relaxed than he's felt in a long time.

"It's hard I know, but you know me best at work, not outside of it or anywhere else. It's not something I'm objective too, but I always remain in control of the situation" Ali broke the long silence between the two, Demitri made the move to put his arm around the woman's back and place his hand on her shoulder, bringing her in for a small, yet gentle hug.

"I have no problem with your request, that's something that you of all people should decide on your own about your ummm....y-you know" Demitri mumbled.

"Virginity? It's not a dirty word ya know Demitri" Ali snickered a little, the giant blushed at his cheeks, thankfully he was taller and she couldn't see, the clouds moved slowly out of the moon lights path as the outside began to show new light under its glow, Demitri peered down for a moment to see Ali looking right back at him, her eyes sparkled in the moonlight a little, her dress color clearly visible now to him as it was inside.

"Trust me, I've heard a lot worse, and dirtier" He flashed her a smile, both seemed at ease until they heard the balcony doors open, it was Pocket who came out in her White cocktail style dress and white high heel shoes. Both Ali and Demitri looked back for a moment, almost as if they were expecting someone else, someone more dangerous to appear.

"Oh, I'm sorry if I've interrupted anything guys" She giggled slightly as she made her way closer to the two.

"You're fine Pocket" Ali answered as she released herself from Demitri's hold and turned to the youngest team member.

"Well, sorry if I did. But the ceremony is about to being for our new position, we got the table Marcus is at reserved already. Come in whenever you're ready" The young one turned around and skipped to the door before opening the entrance and entering herself, both Ali and Demitri walked at the same time to the same entrance, Demitri grabbed the door and held it open for Ali before she even reached it.

"Such a gentleman, someone sure did raise to you have good manners at least" Ali smiled as she looked up at Demtri again before entering, the man following close behind as the door close. The ballroom was crowded with HDF officials and soldiers alike, all enjoying the ball and dancing that took place prior to the main event. Ali and Demitri made it to their assigned table with the other team members, both sitting right beside one another. Demitri took another glass of wine as the waitress came around their table again, sipping the bitter liquid little by little to savor the taste, Demitri looked down to see Ali placing her hands at her lap, one right atop the other. Her arm with her scar sash was underneath the naked hand, holding it softly.

"Beautiful..." He whispered to himself, it must have been loud enough, for Ali turned and looked up at Demitri with a smile.

"Did you say something?"

"Heh, naw, just looking" He smiled once again. "At least its better than your picture with the coffee" He laughed softly, Ali grunted as she delt him a hard punch to the arm, making the soldier grunt in pain from her blow. "Damn, you're mean" He rubbed his sore spot quickly to ease the pain.

"Well serves you right, by the way, I want that picture back or at least destroyed" She shorted as she took a sip of her water.

"No way, it's on my work desk in my room, I like it there" Ali blushed a little, but turned away to avoid any attention. Sasa looked across the table and snickered a bit, Ali returned the gesture with a simple stern face as she brushed it off. The lights went low in the ballroom as the stage lit up with spot lights, the podium had all the lights on it as a figure walked onto the steps and then across the stage. It was Commandant Shield, followed by Commander Hank and a few fellow commanding officers. Commander Cloak, Commanders Izzy and Nora from the HDF base in Europe, along with Madam Touch and Madam Patch, the Chief Medical Officers for their compound. Commandant Shield made it to the podium with all the commanding officers on either side of him, everyone in the ball room instantly stood up and stood at attention when he became visible, it was rare for him to join such festivities, but tonight he decided to make a personal appearance, there have been soldiers at HDF who are veterans and yet, they still have never seen what he looks like. The muscular and tall commandant was about 2 inches taller than Demitri, the same muscular build but he was bald with a clear white goatee on his face, well trimmed and close cut to his skin. The commandant grabbed a folded piece of paper from his tuxedo jacket and opened it up to begin his speech.

"Thank you all for coming to the Human Defense Force Ranking Ceremony. I am honored to see such familiar faces this year along with faces I know so well amongst our organization. Each and every one of you bring something to this family that we have, to preserve order and safety amongst the humans who we keep in the dark about things that go bump in the night. I couldn't be any more pleased with our motto: When things go bump at night...WE BUMP BACK!!!" His voice roared through the ballroom, all the staff cheered at their company motto, whistling and clapping engulfed the area from everyone. Demitri clapped and whistled, Pocket was jumping for Joy at the inspiration. Sasa merely clapped before taking a sip of her drink. Markus and Jeff were silent as Ali smiled, it had been a while since she's heard someone use that motto in such a lively and energetic way to bring spirits up. Demitri took the time to bend over some and whisper closely in Ali's ear.

"We have a personal meeting with the Commandant when we're through with the ceremony. Just you and me" Ali was a bit surprised at the news as she leaned into his ear more.

"How? Arranging a meeting with the Commandant is nearly impossible. How did you manage that?" She questioned as she herself began to clap with the others.

"I have my ways Alex, so stay close by me. We have to be quick about leaving after its all done" Demitri stood back up again as the Commandant signaled for everyone to take their seats, everyone did as the sound of chairs running across the polished wooden floors and small chit chat filled the air.

"Now then" Commandant Shield began to speak. "Let's get on with the First Class Ranks, then we shall move up from there."

Ali sat patiently while they went through the ranking til it was their turn, the commandant getting the attention of everyone.
"Now, for the last promotion of the night, we all know that our last Alpha Team met it's end, quite mysteriously and horribly I might add, tonight we recognize a team amongst us that has earned the title of Alpha Team. I introduce the new Alpha Team Elite!"
Ali stood with the others and inclined her head as the room erupted into clapping, she stood there for as long as she wished and when she made the move to sit back down Pocket grabbed her arm and hauled her back to her feet.
"Go dance with Demmy."
Ali's cheeks instantly flared as Pocket whispered the suggestion in her ear, looking around she could see other getting up and dancing with one another, Sasa was curing her boredom by testing how well Marcus could dance in his sandals and the man was proving to be more graceful than first thought. As pocket drug Jeff onto the floor, his face telling her more than enough his opinion on the matter, Ali looked up at Demetri.
"It'll give a good excuse to get away from every one."
Ali felt her self slip slightly and smiling a truly genuine smile at the larger man she let a giggle slip past her lips as he stood and bowed slightly. He blinked at her letting a smile of his own light up his face, Ali stood and took his hand, her own dwarfed by his massive one, but it felt like it fit perfectly to her. She felt her cheeks heat up as he placed his hand on her hip, they moved together perfectly, gracefully. Ali stepped slightly closer making the larger man back up, she kept this up til they slipped past the thick curtain and back onto the balcony, making a move to detach herself from his grip she looked up as he tightened his hold on her only slightly. The music could still be heard through the fabric but here, they were safe from prying eyes, smiling she nodded and stepped closer to the large man leaning in and resting her head on his broad chest as he lead their dance, just gently swaying back and forth now. Ali took a deep breath and looked up at him, her smile still in place.
"I can't remember the last time I was this relaxed."
"Should I take that as a compliment?"
"Most definitely."
He gave her a broad smile, took her hand and bent her backwards, she tried to hide it, the slight pain it caused when he took her wounded wrist, but the pain seemed to filter from her to him. He righted her instantly and looked down at his own arm confused as her's drifted to grip her injured hand.
"Are you still hurt?"
"It's just tender Demetri, that's all."
She saw him frown and moved til he was directly in front of her and she was looking into his eyes, he stayed that way for nearly a minute til he took her by surprise grabbing her left hand and quickly taking the ribbon off of it in one smooth motion. What he saw made his temper flare to an almost unbearable level. The bandage around her wrist he knew about, but the red, swollen and broken out skin was new. Her skin had the appearance that she had been burned, only one person could leave that mark.
"Anthony."
Ali grabbed his arm as he tried to leave.
"Stop! I'm fine."
"I just told you I wouldn't let anyone hurt you. How can I claim that when I let this happen?"
He gestured to her arm which she was wrapping gently back in the ribbon to hide it.
"Because, this happened before you said that."
"I vowed that to my self a while ago."
Ali felt her cheeks flush a little more but she pulled on his arm a little more as he tried to pull away.
"J-just...stay. Please."
He shook his head, the anger still clear on his face, she frowned and planted her feet, her legs much stronger than anything else, but still he pulled her along, proving to her his strength.
"Demetri, please."
"He's going to regret that. When did he do it? Was it when you dropped your glass?"
"I don't care about that, I care about the time I have with you!"
He stopped and looked back at her, but his anger was still far from sated, she looked up at him and searched his face carefully.
"Please, just...stay."
His voice growled out her name and she was sure nothing could keep him from stampeding through the ball room and ripping the Mentalist' head from his shoulders, but as Ali reached out with her powers, little by little he seemed to calm down til his shoulders slumped some and his breathing evened out. She wrapped her arms around his torso and hugged him tightly.
"I think we're getting closer than people, even each other, think."
It took a few seconds before he caught up but as he wrapped his arms around her shoulders and held her he buried his nose in her hair and took a deep breath.
"What makes you say that?"
"I projected to you. I've never done that. But you were able to feel where my pain was coming from just now."
"Is this a bad thing?"
"I don't know, it could be. If we have a mission were we have to protect someone are going to keep each other from harm instead of our target?"
"I'll do my job Alex, just as I know you will too. We just have to see where this goes."
She nodded and pulled away just enough to where she could look up at him, reaching up she put her small hand against his cheek, his own large hand coming up to cover it as their eyes met she lifted herself on her tip toes at the same time as he leaned down, their lips connecting. The kiss was soft, and gentle, no rushing but Ali could feel her pulse quicken and could feel Demetri's heart beat get faster as well. They held each other that way for only a few minutes but it lasted for much longer to them. The quiet sound of someone clearing their throat bringing them both back. Pulling away swiftly they looked back and froze, Ali felt her face heat as the Commandant stood there, a sly, knowing smile on his face, the same look a parent would give a child who was caught with a hand in the cookie jar.
"Am I interrupting?"
Ali stammered a couple times but was gratefully saved as Demetri stepped in and saluted jarring Ali from her embarrassment and prompting her to do the same. The Commandant waved it off.
"There's no need for that Athens, Talon, I have made sure my guards are by this door so no one may disturb us, we are alone and with the subject of our conversation I think formality takes a backseat to the urgency of the situation."
Ali relaxed, her cheeks still tinted red not only due to the kiss her and Demetri had shared but being caught by none other than the Commandant him self, the man looked at them expectantly.
"I'll have your side of the story first Athens, I'm sure your story will fill in gaps of Talon's as she tells it."
The large man crossed his arms over his chest and something clicked in Ali's mind, it was the same stance Demetri took on at time when he was irritated or worried. She made a mental note to ask him about that once this was over, it was than something caught her eye, a white corner of a napkin with runes drawn on it, her team was listening, smiling she discreetly pushed the corner back into Demetri's pocket as she waited for the time to share her side of everything. It wasn't long til the Commandant turned to her and asked for her version. Listening carefully he nodded and looked at Ali.
"Very good. Talon I'm going to ask that you wait out side the door with my guards, I must speak with Athens alone for just a moment, afterward I will speak to you on your own. I will give each of you instructions that you are you are to keep to yourself-"
Ali broke in at this point by shaking her head.
"With all due respect Sir, Demetri and I are in this mess together now and I would prefer to keep it that way. I'd prefer to be able to lean on someone for support."
The Commandant gave her a wicked, teasing smile.
"I could see that."
Ali flushed brightly and dropped her eyes.
"Be that as it may Talon, I still wish to speak to Athens on a one on one basis. It won't take long and once I'm done I'll summon for you to join us again."
She nodded and made her way out, this time taking the napkin with her to keep the conversation private, she shredded it and threw the pieces away. Outside the Commandant looked at Demetri with a knowing look.
"So this is why your team leader being hurt upset you so much. I must say this is something I never expected son. Care to tell me exactly how this came about and where this is going?"
He sat down at the small, single table on the balcony motioning for Demetri to join him. The younger man seeming to search his thoughts on where exactly to start.
"Take your time son."

Marcus had been keeping a steady ear on the conversation that was coming from Ali and Demetri while they had their time together. When Anthony had risen up in their conversation it became almost unbearable to listen with the intensity coming from Demetri's voice. Raw emotion tend to jar with the runes, since that was always something unpredictable and usually violent. With everything settling down he saw Pocket disappear to find the other two, he could have told her where they went, but he didn't want to give up his advantage for now. When she found them he let his attention fade and the words that were so vivid before, became nothing but slight noises as Pocket brought them to the table and seated them all with the lights taking the podium. When Commandant Shield appeared Marcus' heart skipped a beat, he hadn't seen Shield in years and did not want to meet with him again anytime soon. Marcus was in his own world while the Commandant was speaking, and when he belted out the HDF motto, Marcus was pulled back into the real world and could only keep silent as the memories tore into his mind. Shield's presence brought back so many of past missions, being part of Ghost Echo was the time of his life and he missed those days.

He remembered they had one of the highest success rates in HDF at the time. He had received only a few honors and rewards for the jobs, but, he had his family at the time. The team kept him feeling alive and with that feeling he would keep fighting even when it seemed they were all dead for sure. Art was a big deal or him back than, he use to paint and draw regularly, carrying a sketch book with him on long term mission so he could record those times he felt needed to be seen. The moments that just couldn't be given justice or were even mentioned in reports, he had collected dozens of different sketch books that were filled with the moments of his long, dead past. He had remained silent through out the entire event, when it finally came to the introduction of the new Alpha Elite team, they all rose from their chair and waved to the mass of people. All this formality was too much for Marcus, he understood that people needed to see their new Alpha Elite, but he also preferred to remain in the back scene and as unknown as possible. Hopefully he would be able to continue his behind the scenes work and just do his job. When he tried to sit back down he felt someone grab his arm and pull him to the dance floor, he looked quickly and saw Sasa pulling him. He was thrown off guard with seeing who it was and could do nothing but follow.

"Lets see how well you do in those sandals of yours." And just like that, Sasa was having him spin her and move with the music. He managed to surprise her by being graceful and fluid with each step, the sandals hardly any hindrance. Her black heels clicked as they made contact, her flowing black dress spin and twirled with each move. Her hair flowed with each move and it showed an attractive side Marcus hadn't seen before. He noticed Demetri and Ali seemed to have disappear and focused his attention on them again, trying to glean some new knowledge. He heard them talking about the bruises on Ali's arm, Anthony's name popped up in the conversation again and this time Marcus had to let go of the rune for a moment before going back. The rage had been deafening, and with Ali's powers it made it that much more difficult but he was able to tune back in as he danced with Sasa. Thankfully the music had slowed so it made it easier to focus on the rune, he suddenly heard the two quiet down and than heard a third voice speaking. It became clear that it was the commandant speaking to them, then suddenly the sound muffled and Marcus knew he had been discovered. He pulled away and let his attention settle back on the task at hand, the music was picking back up and Marcus was able to throw Sasa for a curve with his above average dance ability. He felt a tap on his shoulder and they both stopped to see their team leader standing beside them.

"Mind if I cut in Sasa?" Ali asked with a small smile on her face.

"Not at all, I think its time to see if we can get Jeff to dance a bit more." She quickly disappeared to where Pocket was trying to get Jeff to dance with the rhythm. Marcus looked to his team leader and held out his hand to her, she placed her hand in his and they went right to it.

"I saw the napkin Marcus." He flashed her a grin.

"What napkin, you mean the one on the table there? I saw it too, it was very white." She shook her head at him, the smile still on her face.

"You know exactly what I'm talking about. I saw the runed napkin you stashed into Demetri's pocket. It was clever and very slick of you to get it in without being noticed."

"Well, I do my best work when you don't see it." Her expression took a turn and she became more serious.

"Why did you plant that on him?" Marcus tried to keep the grin on his face, but he was pretty sure it came off as smug.

"Its complicated Ms. Talon."

"Make it simple Marcus, I want to know why you bugged him? Was it to just listen in on us? Are you spying? Spying for Hank?" Marcus lost his grin as he focused a dark look on Ali.

"I bugged him because I needed to know why Sybille chose you. I needed to know what Hank had planned at if things were going in the direction I thought they were. And from what I heard, it sounds like we are on the fast track for Hank's plans."

"You didn't answer my last question, are you spying and working for Hank?" Marcus had already lied to her about whose plan he was trying to get them on, he couldn't do it again.

"Partially, yes I am. Only to the degree that you and Demetri are being used. I'm hoping with things to come, i'll be able to do more good and fix what is broken." With that said, one of the Commandants guards whispered to Ali and she immediately departed. Marcus watched as she head back to the balcony, he grunted and then raced after her and grabbed her arm quickly, causing her to spin her head around.

"What is it?"

"Understand, things aren't what they seem." Marcus drew pulled out his pen and quickly drew a simple rune on her wrist. Touching it, she felt a sudden warmth race up her arm and than vanish as the rune looked to take on a tattooed effect. She looked at the rune than up at him.

"What is this and is it permanent?" Marcus shook his head.

"Its not permanent, its simply a way for me to find you when you need my help the most. All you have to say the word, you and Demetri won't be alone anymore."

"What does that mean and what word?"

"Can't tell you anymore, but when you need to use the rune, you'll know the word." With that done, Marcus turned and walked away. Heading back to his chair when he was suddenly stopped by one of the Commandants guards.

"Commandant Shield would like to speak you alone while he is here. Stay in the area Captain Demos and we will retrieve you when he is ready." Marcus bowed his head and went and sat back at the table, suddenly a little shaken with the Commandants notice of him. He prayed to Coltaine's ghost that he would make ti out of that meeting intact. Edited by Darth Malgus

Demitri placed his elbows on his knees and laced his fingers together with both hands, slouching over in his chair a little bit and he tried the best way to explain everything to his father, but even though they were blood related...the man sure was intimidating. Commandant Shield simply relaxed in his chair as he took his glasses from his eyes and began to clean them with a small cloth he took out from his uniform pocket, taking small huffs of breath as the glass fogged to better his cleaning and help his vision later.

"Well Sir..." Demitri began until he was silenced by the Commandants hand in the air.

"Son, this isn't work related at the moment, and you are my son. There's no shame to address me as your father, heck, I even encourage that people know one of the best soldiers we've had in years in the son of the Commandant. You'd probably get more admiration and respect from those who don't know who you are...especially the new recruits." The commandant chuckled a bit before giving a smile, it was nice to see his goofy side once in a while, even at their place of work. Demitri smiled and shook his head some before he continued.

"O.k dad...well honestly I didn't think much of Alex when we first got assigned to the same group, of course that was 3 years ago and she was still young and quite a hell cat to those who didn't wanna pull their weight. But through the years she's proven to be one hell of a team leader and..." Demitri blushed a little at the words that passed his lips. "she's not that bad to look at either, ya know, girl wise when she's actually in the mood to act like one" Both smiled and laughed for a moment at the thought.

"Well, you obviously care for her in a special way, it would take more than simple words to convince people, I pretty much had front row seating to the moonlight kiss" Commandant Shield winked.

"Whats the matter old man? Intimidated that your son is more of a smooth operator that you now?"

"Hardly, you're still a runner up" The commandant laughed some more, Demitri leaned back in his chair and smiled, there was a tall, slender figure that came through the ball room doors and past the commandants guards without being stopped, it was Madam Touch, wearing a figure shaping ball dress of velvet and black, to match her raven colored hair. Arm sleeves that came to her biceps and held its place tightly, she swayed her way to the two men without hesitation, smiling with her blood red lipstick on.

"My boys, enjoying the festivities?" She addressed the two, walking her way to stand behind the Commandant who took her hand and planted a kiss on top of her glove, she squeezed tightly as he returned to grip back at his wife.

"My lady, lavashing as always. How was the field operation?" The commandant looked up at his mate of 45 years.

"Sad to say he lost a handful of our own soldiers to a vampire assault, we didn't have the vaccine to reverse the changed ones, so we had to eliminate them. The final report will be on your desk when the sun rises darling." Touch looked over at her son and smiled. "My, he looks like you when you were young Pavlos, how our son has grown." Demitri smiled as he looked away from his mothers gaze blushing a bit. "Now then Pavlos, what was so urgent you needed me here tonight? You've even called the high council to be present, is something the matter?" She questioned, the commandant motioned his hand over to Demitri. "Demitri, whats the matter?" Demitri swallowed hard before he told the story of the southern military base and its connection to Commander Hank, along with Sybille and the newly risen Gods. Not to mention, Ali's involvement in all of this, and his growing affection for the young woman. Touch was shocked as she held tighter to her husband when she was told about the threat against Demitri's and Ali's life, and the torture session they had with Sergent Anthony without anyone's knowledge.

"I don't want anything to happen to her mama, she's important to me." Touch said nothing, she got the hint and smiled.

"Well then, we will be meeting shortly after your business is done here. Oh and Pavlos..." She looked down at her husband who returned the gaze.

"Yes darling?"

"It's been confirmed" With that, Madam Touche excused herself from the two and returned inside, she gave notice to the guards to send for Ali for the Commandant, the saluted ans let her pass before they followed close behind her. She made he way back to the main stage while the guards went to fetch Ali.

"What's been confirmed dad?" Demitri stood with his father as they both walked towards the balcony entrance.

"One of your new members, Marcus, is here andhas some explaining to do. If Sybille is behind all of this, then I need to know some thing from him first, nothing too bad and he's in no way shape or form under any punishment standards, but I need some things cleared up." They both reached the doors entrance as Ali showed up on the other side, Demitri opened the door for her and took her hand, leading her outside to stand next to the Commandant, he smiled and he sniffed the air. "My word, what lovely perfume you're donning tonight Talon" She blushed and smiled at the compliment. Demitri took a whiff of the air and smiled as he looked down on his team leader.

"Very lovely" His eyes connected with hers as he flashed her a smile before entering the ballroom to join the others.

Ali linked her arm with Demetri's and allowed herself to be led back into the room, she was still curious about the rune Marcus had drawn on her arm, but more than that she was curious as to why it had gotten so quiet all of a sudden. Looking around she squeezed Demetri's arm grabbing his attention.
"The band..."
His attention turned to where she was looking, sure enough, there in the band was a sight enough to make their hearts stop.
"Demetri...it's Sybille, how did he get in?"
"We don't know for sure that it is him."
Ali tried to reach out with her powers to find the others and felt panic rise in her chest as she felt nothing.
"It's him."
Demetri looked down as he heard her breathing turn rapid, he could feel her skin get hotter as her pulse gained a faster pace.
"Ali?"
"He's here..."
Before the man could ask the glass roof of the ball room shattered, raining glass down upon them, shocked from her stupor Ali released Demetri and ran through the crowd as the none HDF members panicked and raced from the room as Set dropped into the middle of the area showering the room in flames and glass. Ali ducked as a large steel beam fell not to far from her, she could hear Demetri shouting her name as she ran but she had something more important to do.
"Pocket! Sasa! Jeff! Marcus! Where are you?!"
She tripped and almost cried in relief as she turned and saw Pocket looking at her from under a table, the younger girls hand around her ankle.
"Oh thank god, is everyone under there with you?"
"Yeah Jeff and Marcus pulled us under here once everything stated to happen."
"Good, I have a small task I need you all to do, get the civilians out of here. Now."
The gave her a stern nod, silently telling her they knew their job but they didn't like the thought of separating, without looking back she sprinted through the room towards the band stage, ducking and weaving here and there to avoid the raining glass and fire but stopped as someone moved in her path, she crumpled to the floor as pain shot through her body, her scream echoing above the rest of the noise, Demetri's echoing through her's.
"Ali?!"
Looking up she felt her self grinding her teeth together as her vision blurred, forcing herself to stand she reached out with her powers to try and convince Anthony to stop his assault, the cruel laughter of Sybille making her want to scream.
"Your foolish Alex Talon, only those who we deem worthy can use their powers for us."
"I thought I was worthy, you used me to summon these monsters didn't you?"
Sybille laughed and walked slowly down to her level, putting a hand on her shoulder he pushed her down into a kneeling position and laughed as she tried to bite his hand.
"Your so weak woman. The more you fight the more pain you bring to yourself."
"Screw you."
She mustered as much strength as she could and lashed out with her right leg, she felt it connect and whimpered as the pain in her body grew to an almost unbearable level. She screamed and fell forward, her hair coming loose from the bun it was in to fall around her shoulders and her face. Hearing Sybille sigh she looked up as he knelt down and took her chin in his hand, his thumb stroking her cheek.
"Get your hands off of me..."
He chuckled and bent down, she could see the red specks dotted throughout his eyes, they were evil, void of emotion and she clamped her eyes shut as she felt his cold lips on her's, he pushed them against her's more forcefully as she resisted him his hand going into her hair and yanking making her whimper in pain. An inhuman growl made him turn away from her, his hand still holding her hair tightly.
"Release her."
She felt relief wash through her as Demetri's voice ground out against the noise.
"D-Demetri..."
Sybille yanked her up by her hair making her yelp out, the pain radiating through her body as Anthony stood behind them keeping her unable to move, Sybille's hand moved from her hair to her throat as he stood her up, his free arm wrapping around her waist.
"You want her back?"
Demetri's frown deepened as another growl erupted from his throat, Sybille laughed low in his throat and ran his hand further up her side laughing more as Demetri clenched his fists.
"Why do you want her so badly?"
Sybille rolled his eyes at the simple question.
"The same reason you do. She's such a gem, wouldn't you agree? Come now, why not tell her how you feel?"
"She knows how I feel."
Sybille looked down at Ali and buried his face in her neck taking in her scent and gave Demetri an evil look.
"You know legend says that if the blood sacrafice, be it man or woman, gives them selves to you; you won't lose your life to the gods you summoned."
Demetri's eyes widened as he absorbed what Sybille had just said.
"She'll never do that, she would never give her self to you."
"Even if it meant saving you?"
Ali watched as Demetri dropped down into a defense fighting stance, she tensed her body trying with all her might to project her powers towards Demetri to urge him to run, but what did happen was just as unexpected. Sybille hissed in pain and released Ali who dropped to the floor in a boneless heap as the pain leaked away from her body. She blinked a few times to see runes on the floor that were glowing brightly as a pair of sandals came into her view. Strong hands helped her to her feet and handed her to Demetri who cradled her gently, swollen red rashes breaking out on her skin from Anthony's touch. Ali looked up into Demetri's face, his anger clear as he looked at Sybille. Reaching up she cupped his cheek weakly, his large hand covering her's and squeezing it, he looked down at her and gave her an unreadable look. She looked at Marcus.
"D-Didn't think I had said the word."
"Pocket, Jeff, and Sasa can handle the civilians. You two needed my help more than anything."
Ali nodded and slowly stood on her own, Sybille laughed as the three ducked, turning they looked back and saw the Commandant facing off against Set, the large fire blasts echoing through the room, Touch not far behind him healing whatever injuries she could quickly, they worked well together. Ali looked back at Sybille and frowned.
"How did you get in undetected?"
As if to answer her question the ground under her feet began to tremble and crack, Hank walked up beside Sybille, his hand extended towards them.
"You bastard!"
Ali let go of Demetri's hand and charged past Marcus towards Hank and Sybille, even in a ball gown her speed as impressive, swinging her self around she brought her heeled foot around and connected with Hank's right forearm, he smiled and sprinted away from the others, Anthony close behind him as Ali gave chase. Marcus and Demetri watched in horror as she fought alone against the two power giants, her screams echoing as each hit landed. Before Marcus or Demetri could move Sybille launched his own attack on the two pushing them further from their team leader, he looked back at Hank with a wicked grin.
"Try not to kill her Hank, I still wish to enjoy her later once we're done here. After all, when we're through, she'll be begging to come with us."
Ali grit her teeth trying to ignore his threat as another lance of pain shot through her body and a well powered punch from Hank landed in her torso.

"Sybille!" Marcus roared as he regained his footing, the blast had caught him off guard but thankfully his wards reduced the effect to a simple breeze. Sybille looked at him with his red speckled eyes. Marcus knew what that was, and he could see that he was indeed desperate if he decided to assault the HDF like this. Marcus pulled off his shirt and removed his sandals and kept his eyes focused on Sybille as he spoke clearly to Demetri.

"Go to Ali, show the Earth Fighter why we are the Elite now." Demetri took off instantly, the hesitation was gone as he went off to his own fight. Sybille tried to turn his attention on Demetri but Marcus rushed him the moment he finished the words. A tattooed fist crashed into Sybille's face that normally would of only stunned a person, but with his offensive wards, a birght light flashed and Sybille was sent spinning into the air and crashing violently back into the ground. His smirk was gone for just a moment, replaced with rage as Marcus rushed him again, this time leaping up and coming down with his right foot to smash down on Sybille's head. He rolled out of the way and Marcus came down with such forced it cracked the spot where he landed. He turned to Sybille and was met with a sudden blast of wind that threw Marcus across the room into a wall, the force would of shattered a normal humans bones. He landed with a hard thud and rose from ground, rubbing the back of his hand against his lip he found blood smeared across it. He spit into his hands and rubbed the blood all over them, the wound the blood was coming from sealed up quick enough that the left over blood simply dripped out or was spat out, adding a more disturbing look to Marcus grim expression.

"Do you really think that part of the legend is true Sybille? You pushed your luck with summoning Set into our world, and you think that will save you?" Sybille's expression was now back to his grin.

"Of course it'll work Marcus, you showed me how long ago, remember?" Marcus rushed him again, this time activating his agility runes, the blood racing across his arms made them flare with more intensity than they had before. He swung again and hit Sybille in the stomach, causing him to double over and than Marcus brought a knee up into his face. Grabbing his shirt he slammed him down into the ground, he drew back a fist to smash into his face again but Sybille quickly brought up his own fist with the bits and pieces of metal attached and slammed it into Marcus chest, pushing him back as Sybille rose and spun around to deliver a powerful kick to his head and spun Marcus into the ground. He brought his foot down and smashed into Marcus' stomach causing him to groan and spit more blood. Blood was flowing down Sybille's face from his shattered nose, his teeth were color red from the gut hit.

"You'll never beat me Marcus! There was a reason I lead Ghost Echo." Sybille said as he pressed his foot into his Marcus stomach, he groaned with the pressure. But, soon enough, he began to laugh through the cracked ribs and the coughed up a little more blood. Sybille drew closer to Marcus face.

"What's so funny Captain?" Marcus showed a blood soaked grin.

"Just that, you never saw the full extent of my power." Marcus swiftly raised a hand with his palm open and smashed it against Sybille's face, a sudden eruption of power blast into Sybille's unprotected face sent Sybille spinning away while he screamed, gripping his face. Marcus rose slowly, the wounds healing progressively. He grunted as the ribs in his chest mended and stood before Sybille as he stood up shakily with a hand over half his face.

"How could you possibly do that, you were always limited to how fast you could draw those stupid runes!"

"I grew after you left, I don't need to draw runes anymore."

At least not the simple ones, Marcus thought to himself as he rolled his shoulders and clench his fists. Sybille looked distressed now, his plan was not over yet and Marcus needed to keep him busy until Demetri handled what he needed. Hopefully, they wouldn't need his help, his body was straining against the exertion and all of the healing required to keep him going. He hoped his charged blood would keep him alive long enough to be useful, which was just long enough. Edited by Darth Malgus

Ali screamed as Hank pinned her against the wall, his thick hand around her throat.
"You know Talon, I always wanted to knock some sense into you. And having your throat in my hands feels so nice."
Ali bent her leg in on its self and planted her heel against the man's chest.
"You talk way to much!"
She kicked hard and sent the man a few feet away from her, but almost instantly pain shot through her as Anthony rendered her useless for what seemed like the umpteenth time. Screaming she dropped to her knees and squeezed her eyes shut. The next hit she knew was coming, but it didn't make it hurt any less as Hank's dress shoe connected with the side of her head. Screaming she rolled across the small band stage and stopped face down. She could feel the tears as they made their way down her cheeks, but she wiped them away quickly and stood, as Hank drew closer she swung her left foot around and hit him in the ribs, hearing the small crack she smiled feeling a little victory as the man grunted in pain.
"You'll regret that wench."
"Bring it old timer."
Bringing her right foot up as far as she could she brought it back forcefully in a powerful axe kick, gasping when Hank caught it deftly and gave her a wicked smile.
"You realize I'm far more advanced than you little girl. It's all you can do just to stay on your feet."
As if to prove his point Anthony shot another shock wave of pain through out Ali's limbs making her scream out loud and drop to her knees again.
"Dammit!"
Ali grit her teeth and summoned as much strength as she could and stood against the pain coursing through her body but it all she could do just to stay on her feet, she winced as the pain got more intense and her vision blurred. Feeling Hank's hand around her throat again she whimpered as he squeezed and than screamed as he summoned a shard of rack and drive it into her shoulder, her scream drowned out as the noise from the other fights. She felt more tears fall as Hank's hand tightened on her throat, she could feel his hot breath wash over her face as he got close to her.
"Your going to die Talon, whether by my hand or Sybille's your going to die and no one is going to save you."
The tears began to fall freely as his words sank in.
"Just give in and come with us. It'll make this so much easier and none of your team have to die to convince you. Once Sybille has you we'll end your life and save you from facing them again, keeping your shame secret. You'll be known as a hero to them, the woman who sacrificed her self to save them. I think that sounds like a wonderful way to end your life, a certified HDf hero."
Ali could feel the sob climbing up her throat, could feel her resolve slipping, reaching up she gripped Hank's wrist tightly trying to pull him off.
"And Athens, he'll be free to find a love that's not so, how should I say, troublesome."
There it was, the final straw, she sobbed openly, her hand losing it's strength, falling to her side she stood there sobbing as Hank chuckled.
"Refuse to go with us, I'll kill him, right in front of you. How does that sound?"
"D-don't. Leave them alone, I'll do it."
"Do what exactly Talon? I can't hear you."
"I'll-"
Ali blinked as a blast of wind swept between Hank and herself causing the man to release her, her legs gave out and she slumped to the floor but before she could land there she felt familiar arms wrap around her and cradle her against a hard, warm body.
"Don't you give in Alex, what did I tell you? Not with out a fight remember?"
Ali's teeth bit into her bottom lip as she looked up into Demetri's face, dirt and soot covered his clothes and skin and his eyes were locked onto her's. Ali felt herself snap as she buried her face in his chest and griped his shirt letting the sobs continue.
"It's alright Ali, I'm here."
"I know, I'm just so happy...you came."
"I told you, I won't let anyone hurt you."
She nodded and wiped her tears away only to have more replace them, her thoughts centered around the man holding her; Demetri looked down, his eyebrows quirked.
"Thought you said that you weren't going to go as far as to say you loved me."
Ali blinked.
"I didn't say anything."
"But you did, I heard you say you loved me."
"No...I didn't say it...but I thought it..."
Confused Demetri frowned and looked back at Hank, helping Ali to stand, she nodded to an unspoken agreement.
"Your right, we can worry about it later, for now we need to focus on him."
Demetri looked down at her stunned.
"What?"
She looked back at him.
"What what? I was just agreeing to what you said."
"I didn't say it, I thought it."
Before Ali could react Hank's chuckling tore their attention from each other.
"What an interesting time for your powers to ascend to the next level. You can hear people's thought's, and project your own into their minds now. So tell me Talon, can you read mine?"
Ali shivered as the man's cruel intentions rang through her head.
"Your sick."
Demetri looked down at her.
"You don't want to know. It's something you won't like hearing."
Putting two and two together Demetri growled low in his throat, looking down at Ali he kissed her forehead.
"Can you fight?"
She nodded.
"I'm not done yet. I'll take Anthony. I'll let you handle Hank."
He nodded and released her, at the same time they sprung into action each driving them selves for their intended targets. Edited by Knuckles' Girl

One by the one volley of attacks rushed through the air, wind attacks and earth attacks came flying thought the air as the veteran commander faced off with the well skilled alpha solider, both putting their lives on the line as the ballroom turned out to become a massive battlefield of mutated humans. Hank shuffled back some before he took a couple of breaths, he too, like a Demitri, grew exhausted by the strength and energy they were putting into their fight with one another.

"You know Athens, we should have taken care of you in the interrogation room sooner, but this will have to suffice for now!" Hank extending his hands towards the ground as a small quake began to emerge, slowly the ballroom floor rumbled and shards of the polished wood floor cracked as rock like spikes formed from underneath, charging at Demitri's location in a seconds flash, the muscular soldier dove to his side quickly to avoid the dangerous threat that rushed at him. Landing on the ground he looked up from his spot to see more rock spikes coming his way, thinking quickly Demitri rolled out of harms way before stopping and standing back up on his own two feet.

"You're all talk Commander, or should I say, traitor!" Demitri returned the favor by charging up a strong current of wind and launched his attack towards Hank, the wooden floorboard flew at his direction to aide Demitri's assault, but the Commander had prepared himself by conjuring up a stone wall that rose right in front of him, enough time to save him from the wind current and debres that followed suit. Demitri growled under his breath as he took the time to rush as the commanders spot before he could see, his footsteps fast as the giant pushed himself to reach Commander Hank before he was spotted. Suddenly, a flash of red light caught Demitri's attention at the corner of his eye, the soldier was hit by a blast of fire as it sent the soldier off of his feet and flying down the ballroom floor, his body skipped on the ground until it stopped moving. Smoke rose from the soldiers shoulder as his suit showed a charred spot, showing his flesh in the area red and bleeding from the scratch and burn mark. Sergent Mike walked out from the shadows as he smiled and made his way towards his ally Hank,, Demitri winced in pain as he tried to raise himself up with his good arm, but was once again blown from his spot when another fire blast hit the floor he was supporting himself on. The giant flew back in the air until he landed on a table top, crushing the structure as he laid on his back in pain.

"You see Demitri, I always have a back up plan" Commander Hank spouted as he smiled, he flicked his wrist to bring up a large earth like snake that sprang up from both sides of Demitri's current spot and wrapped tight around torso tightly, the squeeze continued as the seconds passed, the sounds of snapping bones could be heard as two of Demitri's ribs broke from his bind, Hank continued to laugh as Mike followed behind, only to hear a gust of wind pass by him as Hank looked back to see Mike was sent to the nearest wall hard. Demitie smiled when the wind blast hit, at least one of them was out of the way with for now, but his smile quickly vanished as the bind tightened, another snapping sound made the man roar in pain as he tried to catch his breath. Commander Hank was now standing over the Demitri with his hand extended towards the giant on the floor. "You'll pay for your insolence, and so will Ali and the rest of your alpha team for snooping into something they couldn't handle." Hank was about to deliver his finishing blow before an arm wrapped around his neck and his hand was grabbed and twisted behind his back. It was Jeff that held him in place as Cloak appeared in front of Commander Hank, dealing the man one hard punch to the gut, causing the man to keel over as he gasped for air. Jeff released the commander as he focused his powers to release Demitri from his earthy restraints. It took some time, but Jeff was able to break the rock bonds and free his ally from the ground, Cloak carefully pocked up Demitri underneath his shoulder and assisted the man onto his feet, hearing the giant gasp hard in pain.

"Are you alright?" Cloak questioned, knowing the answer far to well. Demitri looked around and saw Pocket firing her pistols along with Sasa towards Sergent Mike, who hid behind a stone pillar for protection, he to was injured from Demitri's attack. Before Demitri could answer all three men were taken by surprise when three large rock fists rose from the ground and struck every member in their stomach and launched them into the air high, Commander Hank rose from his spot and looked around, they were losing this battle for sure. Demitri landed next to Jeff and yelped in pain, his head turned to see Ali still combating with Anthony, trying not to give him leeway for him to use his mental powers on her, the woman fought fiercely, she wanted some payback for sure. Marcus kept Sybille at bay while Set continued his assault on his father, the commandant.

"Hurry up with him Sybille, we're leaving with or without the others" Hank roared over all the commotion, the sound of Ali's screams caught Demitri's attention as he looked over to see his team leader fall for another one of Anthony's pain attacks, Ali doubled over in pain before she was dealt a strong back handed fist to her face, Demitri's blood boiled as a surge of energy coursed through his blood, giving him enough strength to stand on his feet in a hurry, feeling light headed from the blood rush and pain in his torso, the giant sent several wind cutting attacks towards Anthony. The man's head snapped to the side as cuts covered his eyes and across the side of his face, Anthony cried in pain as his vision went to black, falling on his side as he covered his face with his hands yelling at the top of his lungs. Hank was surprised at the sharp shot, but before he could move his feet he noticed that he couldn't move anything at all. Cloak and Touch went to Ali's side along with Pocket and Sasa, Jeff struggled to get up and went to aid the Commandant with his battle with Set, the godly creature stopped his assault on Commandant Sheild, looking down at the human noticing his barriers still intact and not breaking. Hank tried to move from his spot, but all his limbs seemed to be weighed down by the air, Demitri's eyes glowed bright white as a storm emerged outside of the ballroom. It was like the one he produced when he was ill, but now it seemed like he was in control. "What's this? Do you think you can actually hold me here Athens?" Hank laughed.

"Not hold you, but at least stop you" Demitri closed his eyes for a moment before his body felt fluid, through the whole in the glass room, a wind tunnel dropped on the very spot Demitri and Hank were standing in, the strong whistling gusts flew everything near them into its vortex, dust and earth rose up to give the wind funnel a sandy gray color as the sky turned black, suddenly, lightning formed from the skies. Commandant Shield grabbed Jeff and made himself towards the others, creating a large barrier to protect them from the sucking wind currents that filled the room, Marcus held on for dear life on a stone pillar while Sybille returned to Set's side.

"Master, we must take our leave" Sybille pleaded, he got no answer as the two suddenly vanished out of the ballroom, their mission failed and their so called allies left to fend for themselves.

"NO!! SYBILLE!!" Marcus yelled over the rushing wind, his runes protected him from the violent winds, but he still held onto his only brace he had. Ali was being restrained by Madam touch in the protective shield so she would leave.

"We can't leave him in there, let me go" She fussed, but Touch was stronger than she appeared.

"Don't be a fool child, you'll be killed if you go out there" She roared back over the loud wind.

"But what about Demmy? Will he be safe?" Pocket questioned as she held onto Cloak's cape tight.

"Don't worry your head out, my son will make it through, but dame it if he's not give me a run for my money" The commandant grunted as he focused more energy on his protective barrier.

"Y-you're son?!?!" Ali gasped, more flashed of lightning sparked in the sky, one flash actually flew down into the center of the wind funnel until it connected to the ground, then all hell broke loose as the funnel blew up, sending both Demitri and Hank separate ways in the Ballroom as earth and wood flew into the air, bouncing off of the commandants barrier. The storm cleared from the skies as the moon's light shinned through the clouds that drifted off into the atmosphere, the Commandant released his barrier and took a couple of breaths before cracking his neck to his side, the once elegant ballroom now looked like a nuke zone. Marcus appeared out from a rubble of dirt and table ends, shoulder mangled a little from cuts and burns, he made his way towards the small group and looked around, he too was amazed at the scenery change. Ali felt out with her hand to find Demitri, but she didn't need long to turn her head slightly to the corner of her eye and saw some movement underneath a pile of wood scraps. Rushing over to the moving pile, she stopped as Demitri rose up quickly to get some air. Ali looked up at the giant as he shook his head some before he returned the gaze back. "Demitri..." She gasped as he fell to his knees in front of her and brought her in for a hug, she squeezed tight, not knowing about his cracked ribs until she heard him wince in pain.

"Now I'll be in the med ward thanks to you, and their food is terrible" He chuckled through his pain, only to get a small laugh from Ali as Cloak once again held Demitri on his feet.

"Good to see you're still alive my friend" Demitri smiled, his father along with the others re-grouped at their location.

"Sybille and that beast are gone, as for former Commander Hank and his lackeys..." The whole group turned to see the soldiers of HDF find Hank's body, along with Anthony and Mike's, underneath a pile of rubble. "...they'll be detained for *cough* detailed *cough* questioning on their treason. As for their obsession with your team leader, we're going to be placing all of you in protective watch for a while until we can get things figured out. But I fear not much time is on our hands with Sybille, he was able to attack us on our own grounds, his powers are growing faster than anyone could have imagined." Everyone nodded as they thought about it. "Marcus, Talon, come with me" Commandant Shield spoke no more as his security team escorted the two carefully out of the battle field ballroom, Madam touch close his group. Marcus followed instantly, Ali on the other hand, didn't want to let go of Demitri and his embrace, she felt a large, familiar hand on top of her head as she looked up once again.

"It's going to be o.k, trust me Alex" Demitri smiled before he gasped for air, clenching his teeth at his pain as he closed his eyes.

"Come on, let's all head for the med ward, this is one for the books" Cloak spoke as he engulfed the other team members in his shroud, they all vanished leaving Ali behind, she stared at Demitri until they were out of sight, she felt empty for a moment before coming to her senses and following after the Commandant and Marcus. Madam touch waited behind for Ali, placing a hand of her shoulder looking down at the young woman.

"Come now, he'll be alright." Using her powers, she sent a warm wave through her body as Ali felt all her pains vanish like water vapor, surprised at the pain free areas she once hated due to Anthony and previous missions.

"Thank you Ma'am" She replied as Madam touch walked in front of Ali to lead the way.

Ali glanced back at where Demetri had disappeared and sighed, she would have to talk to him later. Follow Marcus and the Commandant she found herself in an empty room, the Commandant looked back at the two.
"First off I want to congratulate you for protecting this organization. You worked hard and proved to everyone there tonight why you were named Elite. Now, Marcus; you have proven to me tonight that you are indeed trustworthy, therefore as a test to see just how much so you are a part of the protective measure on Talon here. Whenever she is not in her room or with Athens she is to be with you at all times. Your runes give you the ability to keep track of her in many ways. Talon, when we are done here I have a few specific things I need done. First I need you to take Marcus to your room and allow him to 'rune' your quarters for protection. Sybille was able to get through us once whose to say he can't do it again. Marcus you're to put something in her room the will be able to tell between people on your team and not. Understood?"
They nodded.
"Marcus your dismissed. Get to it."
"Yes Sir."
"Talon. I must have a few words with you."
Ali felt her stomach drop and her palms sweat as the large man took a seat at the small conference table in the room and motioned for her to sit as well. Taking a deep breath she let it out and sat across from the man, he was larger than Demetri and his face had more lines in it making it obvious he had years of experience.
"About this relationship between you and my son, where do you think it is going?"
"I'm not sure I understand Sir."
"Do you love the boy?"
"I-uh...well that is to say..."
"Alright, something easier, are you falling in love with him?"
Ali looked at her hands, was she? Her feelings were getting stronger but were they love? She couldn't tell. The Commandants chuckles brought her back, he was hiding his smile behind his hand, his eyes knowing.
"I see. Well in that case, I'll let you deliver this little piece of information to my son. He is now the commander of the Northern HDF base."
"Wait, your making Demetri the Commander here?"
"Yes. Unfortunately I can not give him the choice to decline. I need someone I can trust and some one who has a good team, and woman, at his back."
Ali blushed slightly as he gave her a teasing wink.
"I also expect you to help him make a full recovery."
"What?"
Ali looked up at the older man and blinked as his eyes took on a childish charm.
"You know there is nothing quite like the love of a beautiful woman to make an injured man feel his best."
Ali blushed fully this time as madam Touch entered the room.
"Pavlos, we have to report this matter to the Chief in the South. They all need to be on the look out."
The Commandant nodded flashing Ali a bright smile before he walked out, Ali sat there for only a few moments before a feeling of longing began to seep in, an unknown feeling, one that wasn't her own. Smiling slightly she ran from the room and towards the med ward. She made it there in record time just as Patch was coming from the room wiping his hands.
"Alex, good timing. He was just asking I send for you."
The feeling grew strong at the mention of her name and she could only guess it was Demetri. Nodding she walked in and sat next the bed taking the large hand. He looked down and smiled, his torso wrapped in white bandages.
"Chip, is going to be alright?"
"C'mon Alex, who do you think your talking to? He'll be right as rain tomorrow."
She nodded looking back at Demetri, taking a hint, Patch walked out shutting the door behind him.
"How are you feeling, does it hurt much?"
Demetri shrugged wincing slightly.
"Still tender but nothing I can't handle. What did the Commandant want?"
"You mean your father?"
"He told you?"
"He let it slip during the fight but I had my suspicions, you two act a lot alike."
She lifted his hand and put his knuckles to her cheek smiling.
"He also told me to give you some news."
"Like what?"
"I'm under protective watch, while I'm not in my room I'm to be with you or Marcus. Since he can track me with his runes and I can project to you now you two are my safest options."
"So we'll be seeing a lot more of each other than? I can handle that."
Ali shook her head chuckling.
"He also wanted me to tell you one other thing. Commander Athens."
Demetri frowned and shook her head til it sank in.
"What? No way, I never agreed to this! What about you guys? You need me with you."
"Demetri, calm down, you'll still be coming with us, it's just now everyone reports to you."
He frowned and nodded, still obviously not pleased with the choice his father had made. He looked at Ali and cupped her cheek in his hand.
"There is something I wanted to ask you Ali."
She looked up at him, slightly nervous.
"About that mind reading thing, and how you were able to project your thoughts into my mind, did you mean what you said, or thought?"
Ali blushed and closed her eyes.
"I did. I've never been in love before Demetri, but if I had to guess I would say with no hesitation that I do believe I'm falling in love with you."
The man smiled sending a delightful shiver down Ali's spine, a foreign feeling over taking her. She smiled and shook her head.
"If you wanted a kiss that badly you could just ask."
Demetri blinked.
"I can still read your emotions."
He gave her a sheepish look, but the feeling didn't waver in the slightest, Ali smiled and stood bending over the bed and touching her lips to his. At first it was innocent, gentle and soft, but as she held his lips with her's he buried his hand in her hair and the restrained feelings they had hidden for one another began to pour out. The kiss grew in passion and intensity til lack of air drew the two apart. Breathing heavily Ali rested her forehead against his, her eyes closed as she tried to calm her heart. Demetri ran his fingers through her hair, his eyes meeting her's as she opened them to look down at him.
"Wow, that was..."
"Intense?"
He nodded and met his lips to her's again, this time quickly but no less passionate.
"Your father told me that there was nothing like the love of a good woman to make a man in the med ward feel better."
Demetri chuckled and pinched the bridge of his nose gently.
"Crazy old man, he was right though. I already feel better."
Ali shook her head and sat down on the bed next to him, laying back she curled up to his side and sighed as her body finally relaxed, her eyes dropping closed due to exhaustion only to snap open in a frown as her phone beeped. Pulling it out she flipped it open and looked at the text message and than up at Demetri who had his eye brows quirked.
"We have another mission, we leave tomorrow night...What?"
"You had your phone on you during the ball? Where did you hide it?"
"Focus Demetri."
"I am, seriously, where did you hide it?"
"I had it strapped to my leg."
At mention of the ball Ali did a once over on her self and blushed as she realized the condition of her dress, it was filthy and torn in places, the white trimming was now Grey and the blue looked black from all the dirt and soot. Her hair was frayed and falling about her in a wild heap and her face was smudged.
"I look as if I ran through a burning building...I'm a mess."
"You still look as beautiful as always Ali."
She looked back at him, forwarded the message to the others and kicked off her shoes, her left shoe missing it's heel, laying back on the bed she slipped under the sheet with the large man and wrapped her arm gently around his torso and tangled her right leg with his and rested her head on his shoulder. Kissing his cheek she smiled as he took in her scent from her hair, a feeling of complete relaxation taking over the two of them.
"Good night Demetri...I-I love you."
Whether he answered her or not she didn't know. Sleep took over quickly blocking out all else until the next day and their new mission. One tamer than usual for them now. Werewolves in Ireland.

Marcus was relieved to be out of the Commandants sight, regardless of whether he deemed him trustworthy, he was still a terrifying man. And as far as Marcus was concerned, fear was a healthy way of telling him he needed to stay where he always did best, under the radar. But, now that he was Talon's personal bodyguard it would be harder to disappear if Athens wasn't around. Marcus had made his way to Ali's room and began his work immediately, he used a knife he was able to swipe from the ball room and began etching runes into the floor, moving Ali's bed aside he etched a protective rune where her bed would sit, nicking his index find and activating the rune with his blood before moving on to other parts of the room. Etching it into the walls several different runes that became interconnected to create a massive web of protection, he used his blood as he went to imbue each rune with unbreakable strength. He hoped Ali wouldn't damage the runes one day on accident, that would break the seal around her room and runes with this kind of time and care took time to fix, and sometimes were no longer possible to mend if on nonliving surfaces like this. When he finished, he moved to the door way and carved smaller symbols into the doors frame, each was unique in its own way. Only one of these runes did he use his own blood on it, he would need the others to use their blood on one of the runes, this would keep it to a minimum of only the team able to get into her quarters. As of right now, he was the only one allowed into these quarters, others would be meet with an impassible barrier. With his work complete for now, he left the room behind and walked to halls for a bit.

He tried to listen to everything around him as he walked about, noticing something was off. He suddenly realized the bottom of his feet were cold and looked down at to see that his sandals had disappeared. Torn from his feet when Demetri had summoned that hurricane into the ball room, that was raw energy he hadn't seen for while and was glad he was protected from most of it. He had been close enough that the wind should have ripped the flesh from bones with ease, if the runes hadn't done their job. As he walked through the hallways he soon came upon someone he knew, someone who had been around to train with Marcus as well. Fortunately, he hadn't gotten teamed up in Ghost Echo and suffer their fate. He approached the figure casually, the figure turning and showing him a beaming grin. The figure was a man who looked fairly young for his age and he draped in his unites colors, the crimson red matched well with the blue bandanna he kept tied around his neck. He had short cropped hair and was broad shouldered, he was shorter then Marcus but still held himself high.

"Well, if it isn't Corporal Blues." He walked up and patted Marcus on the shoulder. The force of that simple pat almost knocked Marcus from his feet, Blues power revolved around his strength and speed. He was unnaturally fast and strong, that's what everyone thought his power was initially, however, it was his ability to read people around him. In a matter of moments of Blues looking at you, he could see all of the immediate actions you could possibly make within moments. His powers stopped there, he couldn't see any father than that but typically you didn't get any farther than that when he drew one of the two swords he kept at his waist.

"Good to see you again Captain Demos, looking good for someone who went toe to toe with a man who made a god pact." Marcus could only nod. Sybille had gotten away again, with the god he had made the pact with.

"Yeah, not as hard as you might think." Blue let out a hearty laugh as he gestured to a near by bench for them to sit at. As they sat down blue unstrapped his swords and set them aside.

"What are you doing here Blues? Thought you got relocated to the South HDF for a new project."

"I was, my project was protection detail for the HDF Commander. But, Ive been reassigned again. Looks like you'll be seeing more of me Captain." Marcus let out his own laugh as he leaned forward, with his tattooed hands held before him. He looked at the marks and could help but feel a twinge of sadness creep in, the memories of why these tattoos became necessary haunted him sometimes. Blues gave him another, gentler, tap on the back.

"Don't grieve anymore Marcus, I'm sure they are watching over you right now. Ghost Echo was always a team not many will forget, and i'm sure she would forgive you Marcus." Marcus couldn't help but tense up at those words, he shuddered slightly as he remembered her face, the curves of her body and most of all, the one thing that truly rang through him, was her laugh.

"Too bad I couldn't keep her from dying, Coltaine either, that man was twice as hard to kill too. I remember those days, Fiddler and Coltaine arguing over something ridiculous, Yedan Derryg and his sister Yon Tavis, the Watch and Twilight, they were an interesting pair. Yedan was brutally straight forward, and Yan was painfully Niave in weird ways."

"I definitely recall that. Those days were always the best." Blues let his smile hold its place, the fond memories brought warm feelings to his thoughts. He suddenly spoke, breaking the silence.

"You haven't said her name once Marcus."

"I know Blues, I don't want to say it."

"Your going to have to Demos, otherwise you're not leaving this bench. Someone needs to say her name, you are the one who deserves to say it most." Marcus couldn't look at his friend, his eyes focused on his hands, looking at his feet as well.

"Say it Marcus." Marcus could feel the tears coming.

"Masan Gilani alright! Masan Gilani, she died for nothing Blues. Nothing!" Marcus tried to rise, but his legs wouldn't obey, so he simply sat while he tried to control the tears that not raced down his face. Dripping as Marcus tried to shut the door on his emotions, this time it was impossible, Blues had brought back too much pain with his simple words. Blues simply sat by as his long time friend wept openly now, he saw how the pain tore at him, and he couldn't imagine the hurt love brought when it was stolen away from you. Marcus regained his composure soon enough, rubbing his face and wiping away the tears as best he could. Marcus looked over to Blues and leaned back against the bench, after he elft himself calm down enough he spoke again.

"Thank you Blues, I had pushed her memory away so long, i'd almost forgotten her face. At least she doesn't have to be part of this madness anymore, she deserved the rest." Blues adjusted in his seat as Marcus suddenly lowered his voice.

"While we are on the subject of old friends, what would you think if I said Shadowthrone and Cotillion were alive?" Blues body suddenly stiffened and his face no longer bore the smile.

"I would have to say that things just got a lot more complicated." Marcus nodded and looked away from Blues. Blues leaned in to talk in quieter voice.

"Are they alive Marcus?" He simply shrugged his shoulders.

"Hard to tell these days, Shadowthrone was always half in our world anyways, Cotillion was always good at seeming like nothing more than just his right hand man. Wouldn't be surprised if they pulled the wool over our eyes." Marcus rubbed his face once more and rose form his seat. He looked back over to Blues before speaking again.

"Say hi to Iron Bars for me, let him know he still owes me for that time in India." Blues grinned at him.

"I will make sure he won't forget anytime soon. Get some rest Marcus."

"Hard to do when you don't sleep anymore, see you around." Marcus walked away from Blues, heading back to his quarters to begin his meditation. It was the closes things he could achieve to sleep and it worked for him. It was all he needed until Sybille no longer walked this world. Edited by Darth Malgus

The first thing Ali noticed when she woke up that morning was she was warm, comfortable and above all she felt safe, which was a hard thing these days for her. She felt the well muscled arm under her head shift and smiled as the other arm around her waist tightened pulling her closer to the warm body behind her. She tried to roll over and blinked as she realized she was very well trapped. Demetri's leg wedged between her's and their ankles tangled, she shook her head slightly and let an easy smile spread across her features, it was getting easier to do while around the large man. She lay there for a few more moments before deciding she really didn't want to get up and snuggled back down into the blankets with him, frowning as she heard the door open and a soft, feminine voice fill the room.
"Commander Athens Sir-Oh, I'm sorry I didn't realize you were...engaged in other matters, forgive me Sir."
Demetri groaned behind her as he woke, pulling Ali a little closer as he buried his face into her hair.
"Sir, we really need you to wake up, we have the information the Commandant requested."
Demetri sighed and looked up at the girl.
"What information?"
"About the Egyptian calendar and the gods that were released."
He nodded rubbing his eyes tiredly.
"I'll be there shortly."
"We need you now Sir."
Demetri sighed and sat up scratching his shoulder where the bandages were beginning to fall off.
"What's your name?"
"Emily Sir, but you may call me Circuit. I can read information from any computer or electronic device no matter how hard it's encrypted."
Demetri nodded and stood from the bed leaving Ali to feel the coolness of the room alone in the small hospital bed, sitting up she stretched, looking over at the girl, she frowned as her thoughts filtered into Ali's mind.
Commander Athens shouldn't be found in a situation like that with her, she's trouble. She's the one who brought all this on to the company. If not for her everything would still be the way it was.
Ali frowned more as it continued.
Not only that being the Commandant's son, he should be seen in the company of better women, and I bet with a body like his he could get any woman he would ever want. I know I wouldn't be privy to showing him extra attention.
Ali slipped from the bed and walked over to the woman, her eyes dark.
"You have something you want to say?"
"I don't believe so, why would you ask?"
Ali chuckled and gave Circuit a cruel smile as she circled the girl who crossed her arms and began to tap her foot.
"You have no idea who I really am do you kid."
"I am not a child, I am sure I am older than you. And no, I do not know who or nor do I care. I am here to take care of Commander Athens, in any way he wishes."
Ali could feel her temper flare as she gathered the subtle hint hidden in the woman's sentence.
"My name is Alex Talon, I'm a high level empath, so much so that if your emotions are high enough I can even read your thoughts, and I heard yours perfectly."
"Well isn't that nice."
Before Ali could react and reply back to the woman she felt a large familiar hand on her shoulder and was more than surprised when her flaring temper dissipated.
"You can wait for me outside Circuit. I'll be there momentarily."
"But Commander-"
"Now."
Circuit inclined her head, shot Ali a dirty look and left with out another word, Demetri than turned to Ali who pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed.
"What was all that about?"
"Just some random thoughts of her's that didn't sit well with me. Let's just say I don't like that thought of her being your secretary."
"What was she thinking?"
Instead of telling him she concentrated and projected the thoughts straight into his mind, he shook his head smiling down at her.
"You have nothing to worry about."
"I know that, but now that Hank is gone and your the Commander, and your father knows about us, we don't really have to hide it anymore do we? We can work on it more and get closer."
Instead of answering her he pulled her close and kissed her, the feeling pouring off of him making her go weak in the knees and her pulse quicken dramatically. Sighing as he released her she tangles her fingers in the hair on the back of his neck.
"Get going, I'll see you later."
"No, your going with me. Remember, if your not with Marcus, your to be with me."
She gave him a smile as they walked out and followed Circuit to the investigation room. After being there for most of the day Demetri left Ali in her room as they all prepared for the small mission they were about to get underway. Meeting in the small family room Ali propped her feet on the table, showered and dressed in hip hugger jeans and a black tank top she had her hair over her shoulder in a braid and was playing with the end of it when the others entered. Marcus giving her a frown.
"Why were you alone?"
Looking up at him she frowned slightly.
"Calm down, you all weren't far away-Hey!"
She looked down at the small glowing rune in her palm and frowned at Marcus.
"What the hell is this?"
"Something so I know where you are at all times. I was given a job and I intend to do it."
Huffing Ali sat back down and waited for the others to join her, once all there she stood.
"We're off to Ireland. There's a den of Werewolves there that we need to make negotiations with for the town. They haven't attacked anyone yet only stealing from the larders and storage but the HDF doesn't want it to get out of control. We're to relocate them if we must but if we can negotiate without incident than that'll be best. Cloak will be taking us, he's waiting in the hanger."
Gaining nods from everyone they headed out, Ali rolled her eyes as Demetri and Marcus walked by her sides, this was going to take some getting used to.

Things seemed a lot different at home base now that their group had been promoted to the Elite Alpha team, when the group walked down the corridors to the hanger bay, any passing by soldiers or HDF agent quickly moved out of the way as they saluted the group, Pocket giggled a bit at the sight while the others just moved along. She was beaming with pride, being the youngest on the team and having the rank advancement was an accomplishment for the young girl, but in a sense, she earned it just as the others did in her own way. It didn't take long for the group to reach the hanger, entering they were met by Cloak as he appeared in front of the group from his cape's shroud, he had just come back from dropping off another team on their own mission.

"Good afternoon, is everything packed and ready for the trip to Ireland?" Ali quickly strode in front of Marcus and Demitri, it was getting a little crowded with them always keeping an eye on her, she had to get some space.

"We packed lightly for the mission, so we're ready. Just in case, i want everyone to double check their personal belongings before he head out" Everyone did so, Marcus and Jeff just stood their with their arms folded together, they were the lightest of packers for any trip. Sasa dropped her backpack in front of her as she knelt down to search inside, making sure all of her equipment was secured and accounted for. Demitri checked all four of his pistols he carried on him, every one of them had a full clip and he kept extra magazines on his belt loop just in case. It was then the group heard numerous items hit the ground one right after the other, they all looked over at Pocket to see she already had a pile of items as tall as she was. Ali sighed as she pinched the bridge of her nose and closed her eyes. "Pocket...what have I told you about packing IMPORTANT things???"

"But Ali, you never know when you'll need a coloring book, or television" She continued to produce more items from her mind as she spoke. "...Or a grenade launcher, we could use that just in case...ooooo! Maybe this E.M.P bomb, just in case, or a 24 pack of Sprite...or..."She continued to produce items from her mind more and more.

"Where did you get a grenade launder from?!?!" Sasa looked dumbfounded by the various items she kept, they were so random it was almost smart.

"Hey, you never know when you're gonna need one" She snapped slightly.

"Pocket, put those things back in your mind already, you've got two piled going now. When we get back, we're going through your inventory young lady." Ali placed both hands on her hips and gave a stern, almost motherly look of disappointment at the young girl. Frowning a little bit, she did as she was told and placed all the items back in her mind, Jeff sighed as he shook his head a little. Ali turned back over to Cloak. "We're ready" In an instant Cloaks cape expanded as he lifted his arms, the dark blue fabric encircled the team until all was dark, everyone felt the floor give underneath them, they merely levitated in their spots as Cloak vanished along with the darkness, withing seconds the sunlight breached the dark and the cape opened up fully until it was covering Cloak's body once more, the trees were green with life along with the wildlife that surrounded them. They must have landed near a farm, about 5 miles from their intended destination.

"Thank you Cloak, we'll send for you when we're done and ready to go home" Demitri spoke, Cloak merely nodded and vanished into this air once again, the team spread out a little bit to look around their landing zone.

"It sure is pretty here" Sasa whistled after her statement.

"Very nice, but we must make way to the town and talk with it's leader." Marcus spoke up, everyone grabbed their things as he lead the way, Demitri made sure to walk next to Ali, since they were in no immediate hurry, he took the time to notice her outfit and hair during their trip, she sure looked relaxed and normal, something that was often blocked when she was in uniform...and even a dress at that. Demitri smiled at the thought before he continued his pace, he could feel Ali's swayed hand brushing against his as they all walked. Taking a step, he caught her soft hand as it was swinging and kept the pace with their movements, she looked up at Demitri with a smile.

"Thought I would catch it one way or another" He joked, there was s vibrating sensation that came from his jean pocket, reaching in, Demitri took out his cell phone to see who was calling. It was an unknown number to him, but might as well answer it before they started their mission. Flipping his phone open the giant placed it to his ear. "This is Athens"

"Sir, I was finally able to get a hold of you" It was Circuit.

(How in the world did she get my personal line?) Demitri thought as he raised an eyebrow, trying to control his thoughts so Ali wouldn't worry herself. "What can I help you with?

"Commander, I wanted to inform you that your living quarters have been reorganized and all your paperwork has been submitted to your superiors. Also, I took the liberty of cleaning your room and threw away a couple of...how should I say....unneeded items that were left on your desk" She was quick with her words, but something made the man worry.

"Circuit, exactly what did you throw away?" Demitri asked as he let got of Ali's hand to pay attention to the conversation, they were coming upon the town entrance way.

"Just some old documents and a picture of your....friend, who spilled coffee on herself" Demitri could hear some slight snickering on the other end, he was not too happy about that as he hung up his mobile and continued with the others. Ali could tell the man was upset as they got closer to the town.

(That was the only real picture I had of her being goofy, dammit) He sighed as they finally made their way to the center of the town. It was about noon time, and the streets were lively with merchants and towns people going about their days. No one really payed attention to the group, but a lot of the villagers shot Marcus a weird, and scared look by the sight of his hands and face.

"Alright, spread out and see if you can find any clues about the werewolves from anyone in town, we'll meet back at the local in over there" Demitri pointed to the spot at the corner of the street. "...before we go on our night mission to find them, remember, this is a peace mission, relocate or negotiate terms with the wolves. Understood?" Everyone nodded as they went their separate ways, as Pocket and Ali walked down the road, there was a little child in front of his house hiding behind his mothers dress as she tended the garden.

"Mommy mommy, those are the people!" He seemed a bit scared as he his more, sneaking a peek at the woman passed by. His mother looked at Ali and Pocket, but smiled and went back to her garden work.

"Come now, they're just two pretty girls, I doubt they can just come out of nowhere in you little "Black cloud story" Now go run along and play, supper will be ready later and I have to tend to it" She hummed a soft song as the child felt less scared when the girls vanished from sight.

"But mommy, I did see them, they all came out of no where" He frowned before leaving his front yard to go play with the neighborhood boys. He knew they would believe what he saw.

OOC: Oh snaps, we're been spotted! But hey, thought it would be neat if a kid saw instead of a grown up haha. But who knows 0.o?

Ali looked back at the little boy as he ran across the yards towards his friends houses and looked over at Pocket and sighed.
"Thanks for coming with me, Marcus and Demetri have been keeping such a close eye on me lately it's been stifling."
"Marcus just wants to do his job, Demmy, he's just worried about you."
Ali blushed and looked down at her feet as they walked.
"You think so?"
"C'mon Ali! He loves you."
Ali blinked and stopped for a moment before she ran to catch up with the young girl.
"Alright, time to get to work."
As they walked through the town Ali began to notice that as they passed a few houses the shutters shut on them, after a while it started to annoy her.
"Pocket, have you noticed anything weird?"
"No, not really, why?"
"Everyone is shutting their doors or shutters on us as we walk by."
They stopped and looked around, the small town was quiet now, except for the sheep in the far field, Ali looked around and reached out and grasped the rock before it hit Pocket in the side of the head. Looking to her left she frowned as a young woman stepped out with her son.
"We hear you came here another world, your not welcome here!"
Ali frowned and dropped the rock as a few more people came from their houses as well. Stepping in front of Pocket she unclipped the holster on her hip holding her throwing knives.
"Pocket, get back to the others. Get Marcus, Jeff and Demetri here asap, get Sasa on the hill top with you, you and her take long rang and keep us posted on what's going on."
"But Ali-"
"This is an order, get out of here now."
Pocket hesitated for a second and than sprinted in the direction they had come from. Ali followed her with her eyes til she was sure that Pocket was out of sight, facing the crowd again she frowned as an older man stepped forward.
"We're plauged by Werewolves and now you witches decide to intrude on our peaceful way of life. We will make examples of all of you. Bind her!"
Ali sighed and held up her hands in surrender.
"Why is always me? Why can't it be Jeff or Sasa for once? Seriously."
She hissed as the coarse ropes bit into her skin and they drug her into the middle of the small town. Meanwhile Pocket reached Demetri.
"Demmey! Ali's in trouble again!"
"What?! What happened?"
"One of the towns people saw us come in with Cloak I guess and now they think we're evil or something like that! Ali told me to run and come and get you, what if something bad happens?"
Demetri let out a curse as Marcus, Jeff and Sasa joined them.
"I knew one of us should have gone with her, she always seems to get into trouble."
Pocket looked at Sasa and handed her a rifle from her mind.
"She wants you and me to long range from the hill tops and scout out the town."
Demetri nodded.
"That's a good plan, Marcus, Jeff and I will go and see if we can convince these people to let her go."
Ali stood in the center of town, a bored expression on her face as she read the anger and confusion off the people around her, looking up she blinked as the older man stepped forward with a torch of fire, looking past the crowd she could see and feel Demetri and the others coming up the hill towards her.
"Demetri, can you hurry it up just a little! They have fire!"
She coughed as the old man touched the torch to the straw at her feet and smoke began to rise to meet her lungs.
"D-Demetri!"
She could feel the smoke almost instantly begin to choke her as Demetri and the others began to sprint towards her shouting at the towns people to let her go. It was than that she saw him, it didn't seem real, he was supposed to be dead...but there he was, walking down the dirt road from the bar, as if nothing was happening. He even moved to avoid hitting Demetri. Ali blinked several times, for she had seen him over and over but each time had been her own imagination. This time however he stayed, solid and moving further away from her. Reaching out with her powers she felt nothing at first but than as if a switch had been turned on when Demetri yelled her name his emotions came alive. Sorrow and anger flared within the man walking away from her. Getting her throwing dagger loose she cut the ropes loose from her wrists as the smoke swirled around her choking off her voice as she tried to yell out his name; once her wrists were fee she worked to cut the ropes holding her ankles. Hearing the snap she didn't bother pausing for Demetri to look her over, she would explain later, at that moment she had to catch him. He was different but there was no way she could ever forget him, his face, his movements, any of it. They had sparred to many times as kids for her to. Sprinting away from the yelling and chaos she left behind her from getting loose she ran up the hill and stopped as she saw him leaning on the railing of a paddock watching the sheep with the same lazy expression she remember so well.
"J-Jason..."
She swallowed the lump in her throat as Marcus caught up and grabbed her arm, wrenching it away from his grasp she moved out of his reach as he tried to grab her again, not doubt to tell her how careless she had been to get caught and to create a scene like that when they were here on a peace mission. But that mission didn't matter right now, only this man did. This man who she thought was dead, was told by Hank that he was dead.
"Jason...is-is that you?"
This time he must have heard her, he looked over at her, his expression bored and laid back, just as she remembered, only older. This time it was Demetri who caught her arm, she didn't pull away from him but instead grabbed his arm for support, her knees felt weak.
"Alex, what in the hell do you think your doing? You get caught, break loose and run away from us? Are you trying to get killed?"
"D-Demetri...he's my-"
She swallowed another lump forming in her throat.
"Ali? Are you alright? Your awfully pale...you look like you've seen a ghost."
She blinked back tears forming in her eyes as Demetri wrapped an arm around her waist to keep her steady, taking a deep breath she pulled away gently and walked towards the man before her, reaching out she touched his arm and jumped when he pulled away.
"Your real...it is you...isn't it? Jason?"
"Look babe, I think you have me confuse with someone else."
Before he could move away she grabbed onto his shirt, he looked back at her frowning and blinked when he saw tears streaking her face.
"Jason Talon...if you leave me again I swear on our parents graves I'll cave your head in..."
He frowned more as he took in her words and than released a shocked breath.
"Ali? Little Ali?"
Marcus stepped forward, his arms crossed over his chest, clearly impatient and more than a little upset.
"Alex, would you mind explaining what in gods name is going on."
Ali looked back at them.
"He's my brother..." Edited by Knuckles' Girl

Jason casually strolled down the street not giving the mob a second glance and onle slightly diverting his path as a giant man came running through. He could feel the liquor coursing though his veins. Five years and still nothing could drown away the memories. His dead team and most imporantly his family if they were still alive. He paused to lean against a railing and stare out into the pastures. Five years had done a lot to change him even more then in...

"Jason...is-is that you?"
He turned back to regard the emotional girl in front of him as the big man came up and supportted her when she almost collapsed for some reason.
"Alex what in the hell do you think your doing? You get caught, break loose and run away from us? Are you trying to get killed?"
"D-Demetri...he's my-"

Jason had no idea what was going on but that was mostly due to the drinks he had prior to the drama play that was going on in front of him. He jumped suddenly when he realized the girl had just touched him.

"Your real...it is you...isn't it? Jason?"
"Look babe, I think you have me confuse with someone else." His mind was unable to completely process what was going on besides the fact that she was crazy though she did look slightly familier.

Suddenly she grabbed his shirt and pulled him down face to face and started cursing though he didnt hear any of it. his whole body went into shock and instantly he was sober the moment his eyes locked with hers.

She let go as he frowned studying her. "Ali? Little Ali?"

"Alex, would you mind explaining what in gods name is going on." Another man walked up his arms folded impatiently across his chest
Ali looked back at them.
"He's my brother..."

Now the words struck home. In the blink of an eye he had her in his arms wrapped in a powerful embrace. "Ali!! My sweet little sister, well not so little anymore but still"

Ahe exploded into tears again as he hugged him. "Where have you been? They told me you were dead, slaughtered by werewolves"

That last sentance snapped Jason out of his happiness and the lingering scent of smoke filled his nostrils confirming his supisciouns. . He put her at arms reach causing her to get a confused look as too why her lost brother cut the hug short.

"Leave now!"

Ali pushed back at him trying to get closer. "No i just found you"

Jason glanced over Marcus' shoulder and gave a nod to direct the two guys attention to the mob that was getting closer. "Take her and leave. Regroup and come back to get me cause i no she will"

The giant man pulled a screaming Ali off Jason who walked forwards towards the mob. "Go now i promise Ali i will be fine" The two guys ran off with a screaming Ali as the mob encirled Jason. Fists flew back and forth and He hit as many as possible, ven snapped a few neck before he was brought down and beaten unconcious. He awoke a few hours later chained in the basement of one of the buildings and the thickest chains ever made were wrapped around him. But surprisingly with whatthe pain he knew he was going to endure when the townspeople came down he had the biggest smile on his face. He knew they wouldnt kill him. They needed him too much

Ali punched the wall next to her as she tried to control her emotions, Jeff and Sasa looking out the window to make sure they weren't being followed. Marcus sighed and rubbed his temple.
"You know Alex, Athens' and my job is going to be very difficult if you keep running off like that after total strangers."
She looked up and pinned him with an angry look.
"He wasn't a stranger! He was my brother, someone Hank told me was dead and for 5 years I've had to live with that so don't you dare lecture me now! Isn't there someone you would give everything to bring back or see again?!"
He blinked and looked away, his expression slightly hurt, Demetri put a hand on her shoulder and she heaved a sigh.
"What I want to know is why in gods name the town just up and decided that we were enemies, we never attacked or gave them reason to believe we were a danger...so why?"
Pocket shrugged.
"Maybe seeing people come from a big shadow is scary to them."
"But why would they believe a little boy? For all they knew he was making it up..."
Jeff took a deep breath making Ali's attention turn to him.
"Did anyone else think it strange how when they saw Alex's brother their attention turned to him?"
Ali froze, he had seemed different...almost as if something was haunting him. She noticed it the moment she mentioned his last known mission...he had changed almost instantly.
"What if something isn't right here?"
Demetri squeezed her shoulder getting her attention.
"What do you mean Ali?"
She pinched the bridge of her nose and frowned as she began to think, standing she paced back and forth in the small abandoned hut they had taken refuge in.
"Think about it babe, how many dens do you know that are 'peaceful'?"
Demetri blinked and blushed slightly at her nickname but shook his head.
"None that are in the records."
"Exactly...so the fact that we're here, investigating a relocation or negotiation for a peaceful den...it didn't seem odd at first but the more I think about it the stranger it sounds...something isn't right..."
Looking out the window she noticed that the sun was beginning to set, taking a deep breath she flopped down on the flour sacks under the window and jumped holding in a squeal as a small voice came from under them. Grabbing a throwing knife she took a defensive stance along with the others.
"Who's there? Come out now!"
Ali blinked as a little boy emerged, dirt smudged his face, his skin was pale and he was skinny and terrified. Ali reached out with her powers to calm him and gave him a warm smile.
"What's your name little boy, we won't hurt you."
"Kain...my-my name is Kain. I'm a villager that used to live here...before those monsters took over."
Demetri and Ali exchanged a look of confusion.
"Monsters?"
The boy took a deep breath and shuddered as a cool breeze drifted through the window. Untying the jacket from around her waist she draped it over the boys shoulders thankful when his shivering stopped, she handed him her canteen and her food supply as well. He thanked her and began to eat with a vigor only seen by those starving. Taking a large drink from her canteen he looked at them all in turn and gave them a small smile.
"My mom always told me that I could trust people who are kind like you. So I'll tell you a story. You see, our village elder used to be a kind man...he was very gracious towards others and always helped those in need til one night a bunch of strangers came into town, they were hungry and in need of shelter so he took them to his home, late that night he woke up to the screaming of his daughter...the strangers raped and beat her til she was on death's door. She died early the next morning...bent of vengeance he did the unthinkable, he summoned a demon, around the same time as another bunch of strangers came into town as well, they had told us that they were he looking for some killers that were names extremely dangerous by their company. Said it had something to do with they DNA or something like that. It was 5 years ago to the day...our town elder summoned a demon to take revenge of the strangers that had killed his daughter...only the demon chose the wrong strangers. All of them died but one, he was cursed, to turn into a beast every full moon and be human by day. Unable to control his transformation he went on rampage after rampage through the village, all those attacked by him ended up with the same curse as him til there were hardly any of us that were normal anymore. Those of us that are live in the forest away from the village. They took over and live here now...they keep that man, the one who holds the embodiment of their curse hostage. If he dies, they all turn back to normal, but after getting used to it for so many years...they don't want to be normal anymore...they want to stay werewolves."
Ali balked and held up her hand.
"You mean to tell me that all the people here are werewolves?"
The boy nodded as he took a large bite from her sandwich.
"That's right!"
Tapping her chin she let the boy's story replay over in her head and froze as the times added up.
"Hey kid-"
"My name is Kain."
"Kain, did your people ever learn of the man's name? The one they don't want to die?"
"Huh? His name? Oh yeah. It was Jay, or Talon or something like that."
"Jason? Jason Talon?"
The boy nodded and chugged the rest of her water.
"That's it. Supposedly if he dies they all turn back to humans."
Ali felt sick, her stomach was in knots and she felt her knees give out only to be caught by Demetri.
"No...he's...Jason."
Marcus shook his head.
"We'll worry about that later, right now lets get some rest and we'll figure out what to do in the morning."
They all nodded and hunkered down for the long night, all by Ali. She lay awake til she was positive they were all asleep, slipping out of the hut she tiptoed through the town, feeling around with her power til she pinpointed Jason. Just as calm and laid back as ever. Slipping into the building, not bothering to see which one she was in, she made it to the basement with out being noticed. Looking through the cells they had made she finally found him. Slumped over, and seemingly asleep.
"Jason?"
Her soft whisper sounded like a shout in the small cell.
"Ali? What are you doing here?"
"I came to get you out of here doofus, what do you think?"
"No, get out of here. Just go."
"Jason...I just got you back I'm not letting you go again. Don't make me lose you again."
Opening the cell she carefully shut it with no noise and walked over to him on silent feet. Reaching him she wrapped her arms around him in a tight embrace.
"I can't lose you again. You have no idea how many times I've woken up dreaming of you...I've missed you so much and I'm not about to let you go again."
"Ali you don't understand there's something about me you need to know, I'm-"
"A werewolf, I know. We found a kid from the real village trying to sneak food today and he told us the whole story. I don't care, your coming home with me one way or another and a body bag is not an option so don't even try it."
He shook his head as she picked the lock on the chains that bound him.
"How did you know I was going to say that?"
"Didn't think you would change that much."
He smirked, but it faded suddenly.
"Alex, where's your team?"
"Asleep on the edge of town, why?"
"You came alone? Are you insane, your going to get yourself killed doing stunts like this you know that?"
"Well you know what if you wanted to stay chained to a damn wall and used as a whatever they were using you for that be my guest. Damn you still piss me off."
They stood there frowning at one another for a few moments before they broke out smiling, she held out her hand to him and gave him a wink.
"C'mon, lets get out of here."
He nodded and took her hand, only to pull her back into the cell and hold her behind his back against the wall as two men came down the stairs, one was large, bigger than Demetri and dark skinned, the other was thin and looked deathly but his eyes held a predatory look that sent shivers up her spine.
"Well well, it looks as if Jason here caught dinner for us."
The thin man chuckled showing off petite canines, Jason let out a low growl from in front of her sending more shivers across her skin...closing her eyes tight she held onto the back of his shirt tightly.
"Demetri..."
She tried to project to Demetri as best she could, she was strong and no doubt her brother and her still fought in sync with no problem...but even they would need help with two full fledged werewolves.

Demitri and Marcus swiftly made their way back into town without letting the others know, Marcus was woken up by a signal he got from Ali's rune marking, she was farther than she should have been from the group as he informed Demitri, when they checked her sleeping spot in the abandoned hut it was clear that she had left. Both men caught their breaths for a moment before hiding behind a tall, well shaded tree in the night.

"Where do you think she would have gone to?" Marcus asked as he leaned against the tree for some support.

"Its possible she would want to try and find her brother, and wit her powers she could find him easily, but we're left in the dark...literally, trying to find her. Your rune only lets you know when she's away from you or in danger, too bad it's not much of a tracking device" Demitri smirked before he stood upright, the town was silent and eerie, just to calm for Demitri's taste. "In any case, we find Ali and bring her back to the group, she's gonna get one hell of a lecture from me for pulling a stunt like this, especially while we're asleep" He huffed through his nose. Both men walked down a couple of streets, noticing that not one single house light was on or porch light.

"These people must be either care free, or over trusting to their neighbors, all the windows are open and I bet the doors are all open as well" Marcus commented as he looked at the ground for a moment, he stopped himself and Demitri from walking before he pointed to the ground. There were a couple of foot prints on the dirt ground, similar to Ali's sized shoes she was wearing today, Demitri gathered a small gust and breathed through his nose for a moment before smiling.

"Yeah, she came through this way all right, we're on the right track" Demitri continued to sniff the air as he walked ahead of Marcus.

"How can you be so sure?" He questioned.

"She's wearing her favorite perfume. it has a hint of citrus orange in it, that's how I know" Demitri smirked and blushed as he lead the two down a couple more streets until they came upon a house, two men were seen entering through the front door as Demitri and Marcus his behind a small tool shed on the other side of the street.

"Well, at least we know someone is alive in this town, wonder where they came from at this hour of the evening."

"Right, I don't see any open taverns or restaurants around" Demitri commented, both soldiers looked around before stealthily making their way to the front door, like Marcus had predicted, it was unlocked, but growling sounds echoed throughout the house, it was three different tones that bounced off the walls. "Does it smell like a wet dog all of a sudden" Demitri shook his head and pinched his nose for a moment. Marcus simply squinted his eyes and nose before answering.

"Now that you mentioned it, it does." Both looked around the house for a moment, they noticed nothing was really inside besides a tabel in the kitchen along with a fridge unit, Demitri suddenly went still as his blood froze.

"Demitri..." He heard in his mind, Ali was calling to him and it seemed urgent, more growls could be heard thought the house until crashing noises and howls came from the basement area.

"Let's move, be ready for anything" Demitri and Marcus ran down the steps and approached the door, Marcus instantly kicked the door blocking their way before they made it down the steps to the bottom, they could see Jason taking on the lighter werewolf man while Ali managed to dodge a couple of swing from the larger one by pulling off a couple of back flips. She was however caught off guard when the beast ran to her and shoulder checked his body into her torso, sending the girl flying to the wall as she bounced hard and landed on her face yelping. "ALEX!!!" Demtri roared as he took out his pistols and began to fire at the larger beast, not fully transformed yet, but he creature simply laughed as he dodged every bullet and went back to his allies side, Jason rolled away as he growled at the two.

"Well well, look at that, here I thought I was done. Looks like it's a full course meal for us tonight brother" The larger one laughed as his muscles began to expand and stretch, hair sprung from his pours and began to cover his body, the smaller man began the same process. Demitri dove by Ali's side and scooped her up in his arms, she winced at the pain she felt, but relaxed as she felt comfortable in Demitri's embrace.

"I knew you would come" She smiled, her eyes betraying her as they dropped on their own, but she fought to stay awake.

"I'm always gonna be there for you Alex" Demitri smiled before looking at the newly transformed werewolves, Jason began to howl and groan on his own too, mimicking the same transformation the other two did. Marcus joined the group as he took out of of his Desert Eagle guns and aimed at the wolves.

"What do we do now?" He questioned, Demitri placed Ali back on her feel and motioned her to stay behind the two.

"Jason, we're not leaving without Jason, I wont lose him again. Promise me Demitri, promise me we're gonna help him." Ali pleased, Demitri grunted in resentment for a minute before giving in.

"Alright, but you still come first Alex, and next time, make your perfume less strong" He chuckled before sending several wind shots at the werewolves. At this point, Jason had fully transformed into his lycan form., Marcus held onto his gun with both hands as he began to fire his weapon to aide Demitri.
