Marcus couldn't move, all he could do was watch Jason walk away with the limp form in his arms. Marcus felt on the verge of tears, his heart beating so hard that he was sure it was going to explode. That thought didn't hurt him as much as he would have expected, it was already broken now, damaged yet again but unseen events. He felt so much pain now, he also felt out rage and unequivocal hurt to any other time, he was sure that Masan's death years ago had left him in the same place. Only this was worse, Ali still lived, she had just wiped away everything that brought them together, his eyes suddenly caught Demetri then, the anguish in his eyes and the expression on his face. He felt his rage settle then, his body trembled lightly as he saw what this did to Demetri. The Commandant soon looked over him, seeing how calm he appeared he spoke in harsh tone.

"How can you be so relaxed right now? We drove her to this!" Marcus kept staring at him.

"I know." He voice barely level, the effort difficult now. Marcus looked out and watched as Jason disappeared with her. He spoke again as he kept looking forward.

"How long Demetri?" He looked down at him then, Marcus continued.

"How long did you have her for before I showed up?"

"Two years. Three more when you left and we got married." Marcus felt it more then, how much pain Demetri really must have been in.

"I only had her for five and half months, two and a half of those months we're spent in recovery." He felt the tremble increase slightly, he had to clench his hands into fists before it steadied out.

"I think I should leave again." Marcus said then, feeling how much those words hurt, feeling how it rang heavily in his mind. He heard a throat clear behind him, turning slowly he saw Shield step up.

"You are not going anywhere, Commander." Marcus lifted a brow lazily at him, not liking where the conversation was going.

"What?" Shield showed his smile then, the sadness still in his face but the look still had the same effect.

"Alex Talon is no longer base Commander, with her mind being altered. You, however, have been marked as a target, I can't let you leave. you are now the Northern Base Commander."

"No." Marcus said instantly, his mind already set on leaving, he had no place here.

"It's too late Commander Demos, papers filed, signatures forged, you are now the acting Commander. You cannot leave." Marcus face took on a dark tone then.

"Watch me." He turned to start walking out, a force stopping him then. It quickly brought him to his knees, grunting as he kept trying to stand. Shield walked to him slowly and leaned over to talk to him now.

"Marcus, listen to me. He got to Phoenix in her own base, he killed Mist while everyone was standing around him. He almost killed you in your own world, we need to remain together. She may not remember you anymore, but trust me, that kind of love, the kind of love she has for you and my son, that still exists." Tears slid down his face slowly then, his head bowing as it hung there, his body shuddering slightly as he let the tears flow before pushing them away. He felt the weight let go, taking a deep breath he calmed himself again.

"Alright, I'll accept." Shield nodded to him then, leaving the room with his hands behind his back. Marcus rose then, Cloak having disappeared from the room without anyone noticing. Marcus rolled his shoulders then, looking to Demetri now, he felt the pain try to worm its way back in, he crushed in right then, steeling himself so that he could push through this.

"Where do we do now Marcus?" He heard what that question really meant, the real question, was what will they do about Ali. Marcus kept his gaze steady.

"I intend to fight. This is a chance for both of us."

"We'll hurt her again, if we do what we did before." Marcus nodded then.

"Lets keep it civil then. But I'm not going to lie to you Demetri, I intend to walk away with her heart. Fair warning." Demetri returned the look now.

"Warning taken." Marcus turned away then, unable to look at Demetri any longer, he was sure he would of faltered then. The words spoken between them seem so cold, but he couldn't let it be anything else, he was a friend, a comrade, and it twisted in his chest now. Leaving the room, taking the elevator now, he felt his heart beat rapidly. He had a few things he needed to tend now that he was in this position. When he had arrived at the room, seeing Luwien had jarred him a bit, the youth was still having problems coping with Mists death. He gave him the only words he could think of, ones that he hoped would help him through his ordeal. Once he had left Marcus stood in the room now, after taking a few moments he walked to his dresser, Ali's belongings we're gone now, leaving him feeling a little empty now. He reached for a box sitting on top of the dresser and opened the lid, Blues' bandanna resting carefully, he pulled it out and secured it to his left arm seeing the scars on his forearm now, he ignored them as he pulled out a rust read bandanna now, securing that one to his right arm took another breath. He now carried both Blues and Iron Bars with him, wearing his bandanna around his arm, his sword strapped to his right side with one of Blues' sword strapped to his left now. He needed to set up the appearance now, his face straightening out when he heard a knock on the door, the door opening up when he voiced his confirmation. He heard the steps behind him, the thud of the massive feet as a giant figure squatted through the door and stood up in the room, the stench of alcohol coming off of the man in thick waves.

"This is a nice place, might have to take it now." Marcus turned to look at him now, seeing Felix looking around at what he was sure would belong to him. His eyes slightly wide and a twisted smile on his face now.

"Welcome to the Commanders quarters, I'm the new Commander." Marcus said with very little emotion, Felix shifted in his stance as he put his hands on his hips.

"What happened to that tasty looking vixen?" Marcus stayed calm, trying to keep his powers calm as well.

"Doesn't matter. You are dealing with me now and while you are under my roof, you will obey my orders." He heard a deep laugh form him then, Marcus was sure the room would pull apart from the bass of the sounds.

"You're only a little bigger then that girl, plus you look like a freak cue ball." The giant reached out and placed a palm flat on Marcus head, Marcus didn't move at all.

"I could crush your skull with just a squeeze." Marcus let a smile break his face.

"I was waiting for you to touch me." His runes flare then, a sudden burning sensation appeared in Felix's hand. He yanked it away with a yelp, looking at the rune now burned into his hand.

"Sit boy." The rune flared to life then, Felix feeling a wave of pain shooting through his body, the feeling making him buckle. Marcus looked him in the eyes now.

"You are marked now, the rune on your hand now serves two purposes. One, I now will know where you are at all times. Two, it will cause you pain by my will, I hear anything you have done, you'll be screaming for hours. This rune, will have one purpose." Marcus brought his hands up and clapped them around Felix's head, letting the power surge he heard the man scream before letting go, a rune burned into the sides of his head.

"This one, will keep you from touching your rage. As long as you are in my presence, you will not be able to use your powers without my consent. Now that we are clear on what is gonna happen to you, get out." He saw the rage try to burn in his eyes, the feeling never rising, he tried to reach out then, tried to take a hold of the mystics throat, his rune on his palm flaring to life making him scream again. Marcus walked away then, the giant getting up after a long while and leaving with his tail between his legs. Marcus made his way to the Commanders office, sure he needed to be there to set up his next appointment. After reaching the room, he walked through the doors, seeing his new assistance doing paperwork now, ignoring them he walked until he made it into his own office. He spoke to only one assistant on the way to the office, she had instantly gotten up and took off, Marcus now sitting in his chair as a familiar face came in. Jason standing before him, his arms crossed as he looked at Marcus.

"I see you wasted no time in getting settled in. Already barking orders and pulling me from my quarters." Marcus didn't say anything for the time being, just watched Jason carefully before speaking.

"When she is conscious, bring her here Jason." He instantly shook his head.

"No Marcus, you can't do this. She wiped her mind so that she could start fresh, I don't need you pressing on her already." Marcus remained silent. His thoughts running rampant until he forced them to focus on one thing.

"I don't intend to press on her, I intended to introduce myself. As the Commander, I need to make it a point to see decorated officers. That will be all Jason, I swear." He could see the skeptical look on his face, the hesitation in his eyes until marcus spoke again.

"You and Pocket will sit in on this meeting, I do request you remain silent through out the entire time. You can say whatever you want when we are done." Jason sighed, nodding finally then.

"Fine, but you can't say anything about what she wiped her mind for."

"You have my word, I'll keep it calm. I just need to see how she is doing. Make sure to get Pocket as well." Jason left then, Leaving Marcus to sit in his new chair now, rubbing his face as he waited patiently for a new beginning. He only hoped he would ruin it before it started. Edited by Nergil Pendelton

Pain, unberable pain was all she felt as she blinked open her eyes, groaning she sat up slowly, a grunt coming from the end of her bed.
"Your awake, how do you feel?"
"Patch? What the hell happened? Last thing I remember...I remember...not much."
Patch nodded and stood, bending down he flashed a small light in her eyes making her wince and blink.
"Cut it out. That burns."
"Well looks like everything is working fine. How do you feel?"
"Like I've been run over. Is there a point to all this?"
"Yes. You were in an accident. Been out for a few days. But seems like your on the mend. Which is good. I have a message from Jason."
"Spit it out."
"The new Commander would like to see you and introduce him self."
She nodded and stood, rocking slightly before getting her footing. Stretching her arms above her head she glared at Patch.
"What?"
"Get the hell out so I can change ass hole."
He frowned but stood up and left none the less. Ali walked to her dresser and pulled out a pair of black hip hugger jeans and a blood red tank top, looking in her mirror she was pleased with how well the shirt brought out the red color of her eyes. Grabbing her trench coat she strapped her knives to her thigh and put her gloves on. Grabbing her key card she walked out the door and grunted as she walked into a mass of person. Looking up she frowned and took a step back putting her hands on her hips.
"Watch it muscle head. People are walking here."
He looked down at her and she felt her heart skip a beat, the warm hazel eyes boring into her, the soft color of them drawing her in. She blinked a couple of times before finding her voice.
"Do you mind? I'm trying to get some where."
"I'm not so sure I appreciate the tone."
"I don't really care. I'm on my way to meet the new Commander, do you mind?"
"As the Commandant, I do. Your tone is disrespectful."
Ali paled.
"Oh gods, I apologize. I had no idea...my minds a little fuzzy. I don't think we've ever met. Alex Talon."
The man held his hand out grasping her's, his large hand warm on her skin sending shivers through her body, he pulled her hand away slowly, not really wanting to retreat from the heat of his skin. She took a deep breath as she felt heat pool in her cheeks.
"Do you know the way Talon?"
She shook her head.
"No sir, I don't"
"Demmy."
She frowned.
"I'm sorry sir?"
"My name, it's Demmy."
She frowned more as she began to follow him through the halls.
"Is that short for something Sir?"
"Demetri."
She nodded.
"Thank for Commandant Demetri."
"Demmy."
"I like your real name better."
She didn't see the look on his face as he looked down at her, she was trying her best to keep her eyes forward. The man was handsome, devilishly so in her eyes. His sholder length sandy colored hair pulled back into a pony tail at the base of his neck, his well built form filling out the uniform well and she blushed as she realized she had been checking him out. They stopped at a steel door and the man looked down at her, his warm eyes seeming to swallow her whole.
"This is it. Would you like me to escort you inside?"
She nodded numbly, not even aware she had done so, a few seconds later she shook her head.
"No. No Sir, that's fine. Thank you for showing me the way."
He nodded and put his large hand on the top of her head, the sensation sending chills down her spine, she watched him go, the warmth that had spread through her body going with him. Stepping through the door she stopped short as Jason leaned against the wall, Pocket sat in a chair and as her eyes travled the room she caught sight of another man. His body was covered in beautiful markings, his skin dark olive. He turned to her than, his dark eyes taking her in.
"Ms. Talon I presume?"
She nodded and stepped forward, he looked fierce, like a wild animal; but his eyes were soft and she could see the flicker of something smoldering behid them as he took her in.
"Sir, I was told you wanted to meet with me?"
He nodded and crossed his arms over a defined chest.
"I did indeed. I wanted to introduce my self. I am Marcus Demos, the new Commander."
She nodded slowly and took his hand as he reached out, a slight burn on her wrist making her pull back, his heated skin making her flush.
"Please, take a seat. I wanted to talk to you about a few things while I have you here."
She nodded and crossed her legs waiting for him to continue as her own thoughts fluttered around in her head, she looked over her shoulder as the door slid open, her heart leaping into her throat as the Commandant stepped through, almost having to duck his head as he came into the room.
"I have a new line up for the Alpha Team...Commander. I wanted to give it to you before you became to busy."
Even with not knowing the two men, she could feel the tension between them, Jason's quiet growl only making her that much more confidant that something was wrong between the two of them.

Demitri stayed for a moment as Marcus left the Med Ward, contemplating hard on the words the Mystic spoke to the giant before leaving. The man was still shaken by the sudden actions of his wife, it seemed too harsh and unsettling to the man, now he felt like he actually had to try all over again to be at her side and show the same love as before when they were just soldiers. Demitri threw his head back slightly, grabbing onto his hair as he pulled it back, wrapping his licks in a single pony-tail strand, his hair reaching down to his shoulders as it hung into the air carelessly. The giant had forgotten about getting his haircut the past couple of weeks, so much has happened that his own personal hygene seemed to lax a lot during the transition of events that took fold. Demitri smiled as the words Marcus spoke rang over and over in his head, chuckling slightly the giant left the room and ventured out into the halls to make his way towards his own quarters now.

(Civil he says? I can agree to that...but she is mine Marcus. No amount of magic and coursing can undo the bond that we've shared, a bond that we made before you even showed up in our lives. I'll play this game, but I'll help Ali remember why we were destined to be together in the first place...) Demitri continued to stride to his quarters, greeting a couple of recruits as he passed them in the hallway, ignoring their salutes of respect to his rank, Demitri had been on restriction from work and needed to spend some quality time with his family now. The family Ali left behind....even though he was sure Break only erased everything about Marcus and the giant himself, Demitri still felt left out in the cold with the kids and Neos to take care of. Speaking of which, Demitri wondered how the training with their son was progressing, he had never really sat in during a session of his training with Marcus, the tension seemed to be extreme at the time it started, but now that things were at a stand still the giant was curious to see how his sons powers were developing under the watchful eye of the mystic. Demitri stepped in front of his own room door, the metal sliding to the side as a fresh wave of air rushed the giant, making his skin shiver slightly until he adjusted quickly once he stepped in, the doors now closing behind the man as he entered a key code to lock his home. Madam Touch was in the kitchen humming to herself as she held onto Neos with one arm, the other free arm stirring some beef stew in a large pot, Demitri smiled as he entered the kitchen, his mother turning her head smiling up at her son.

"Welcome home Demitri" She smiled, Demitri smiled down at his mother, extending his arms as he took his son into his own embrace, his mother stretching out the arm that once held her grandson and giving a sigh of comfort. "He's getting to be heavy lately, are you sure you're feeding him healthy foods?" She raised an eyebrow, the woman continued to add ingredients to her stew as Demitri chuckled, rocking his baby boy in his arms, the giant hadn't noticed how much he's grown lately, he was looking stronger and more like his own father every day. Demitri nodded as he silently made his way to wards Neos' room, turning on the night light by his bed as he laid his bundle of joy down and tucked him in, the boy squirming from the comfortable mattress until he rolled to his side, yawning before softly breathing in the night. Demitri left the room, leaving the door cracked slightly to let the light from the kitchen come into his room, surprising enough the light shinned on the little boys head as he slept.

"Has he eaten?" Demitri asked, standing next to his mother, she took a spoonful of the stew and cupped the bottom with her free hand to prevent any spilling, the giant leaned down and tasted her cooking, smiling as the memories of her cooking for him when he was little played over in his mind momentarily.

"Of course, something quick and simple to send him off to bed. Lily as well, she's on the phone with her new crush, a boy at school who can change into different animals at will. Very skilled I must say" Demitri sighed as the thought of having one of "those talks" with Lily arose in his mind, then something else popped into the giants thoughts, his son Tank.

"How's Dante today?" His mother froze as she looked down at the stew while it simmered, a slight frown tracing the outlines of her face before she spoke.

"I'm sorry to say that no amount of my powers can undo what that....that beast has done to the boy Demitri. He's so distant and fragile, it's gonna take some time for him to come around. I heard all about the court proceedings with the High Counsel, sometimes I wish it were more like the regular human court systems, gather the evidence and prosecute the monster, but since we have special abilities, it's a much more complex system. There needs to be rules and regulations when reporting abuse by another member of the base, usually the High Counsel is on point, but the lack of evidence clearly wasn't there to help Dante out" Demitri grunted at the words his mother spoke, though she was right,m both Ali acted on impulse as they both fought , they were his parents and they both promised the boy on their own words that they would defend him and make sure he was safe. The giant felt a little ashamed of himself as he went to his room to gather a few clothes in his gym bag, going to the room next to his, the commandant cracked the door open slowly as the light entered the room. Demitri could make out his son sleeping on his back, chest wrapped up in bandages still with a small patch covering his left cheek, the sleeping teen slept peacefully, or least it seemed as so with they way he laid on his bed.

(My poor boy...) Demitri still frowned as he closed the door silently, making his way back to the entrance of his home. "Where are you going Demitri?"

"Training simulator, I have time on my hands, might as well stay sharp while I'm off duty for a while" With that, the giant left his quarters and made his way down the hall, it struck the man odd that Ali would still be moved into her old quarters as before, the sudden urge to see if she was alright struck the man as he made his way towards that direction. Finally standing in front of the door, it opened quickly, the reaction of Ali bumping into the man in such a quick motion rocked the giant until he stood his ground once again. Meeting her gaze melted Demitri in his soul, but he had to remember the rules to oblige by, if he was going to keep things civil, for Ali's sake. After correcting the young woman of her tone with the Commandant, she straightened up and obeyed like a good soldier that she was, Demitri escorted her to the new office Marcus had taken over. The walk was short, but the feeling of being next to his beloved felt eternal. Ali made her way inside, Jason and Pocket were waiting along with Marcus, who laced his fingers together as he rested his chin on his hands. Both men glanced at each other before Ali fully entered the office, both knowing they will do their best to win her heart, but at their own levels. Demitri stepped back as the doors closed again, feeling heated and frustrated, the giant made his way to the training simulator, locking the door with his own personal pass code, the giant stripped himself from his uniform, wearing only his black tank top and sweat pants as he talked to the computer. "Computer, level 15 setting, access code: Demitri Athens 45564709". There was a low humming sound that chimed for a moment before responding back.

"Comfirmed, Commandant Athens, select oponents...." Demitri spoke, suddenly the room went pitch black, the soldier readied himself for the images and holograms to appear, suddenly, light flashed as he was now standing in the middle of a busy city, it was Time Square in New York City. The projected civilians looked at the man like he was weird and crazy, until an explosion caught their attention with screams and crying, Demitri looked over to the now destroyed Gap store, seeing Berserk walk out slowly, another crashing sound as a taxi flipped several times in the air before colliding with the CNN window on the 3rd floor of the main office building. A large, one eyed ogre monster slowly stalked the streets towards the center, grabbing innocent bystanders one by one as he chewed their heads off clean. A final attention grabbing explosion as another figure cut through the bodies of bystanders, the former Commander of HDF, Hank, in full rock armor stood by his other two counterparts as all three took sight of the Wind Wizard. Demitri cracked his knuckles and neck before bracing his own stance, charging up his wind and electrical attacks as the three rushed the commandant at one, preparing for their own assault on the man.

(Not without a fight) The giant used his wind powers to meet the trio half way, colliding with all three of them as he fended and fought off his attackers. Outside of the simulator room, recruits passed by hearing loud yelling and crashing coming from inside the room, wondering what was happening inside, some of them ran away from the sounds. Circuit happened to walk down that very corridor and noticed the group gathering outside of the entrance door, viewing the battle that happened inside on a small viewing screen, she adjusted her glasses as the woman grew closer, gasping as she saw the Commandant being thrown through a building as he fought off his three attackers.

"Oh dear...." She gasped, continuing to see the fight progress, she readied her key card in case his vital signs dropped to a dangerous rate In the newly appointed Commanders office, Marcus sat reclined in his chair as he talked with Ali, under the supervision of Jason and Pocket, Jason kept to himself mostly as he peered to his sister, marveled at how well Break did with the memory wipe, Ali remained poised as she heard all the information about her duties for being the lead for Alpha team. A title she's always wanted to obtain ever since she's been under the supervision of the former Commander Hank. Now was her chance to extend her skills on the field and gain some more respect from her superiors. Still, both the commander in front of her and the strangely vague Commandant confused the woman inside, she had more time to spend talking the Commander, his dark complection and markings astounded the woman as she traced the markings with her eyes. Feeling a bit heated at the fact she was in face eyed this man as she was the commandant earlier, an action she would never thought she would do in her career, but something just kicked in on their own inside her own being. There was an urgent knocking that came from the door to the office, , Marcus sat upright as he addressed the guest.

"You may enter" Marcus spoke loud enough for everyone to hear, the doorknob turned quickly as Gene rushed into the room, panting as he caught himself quickly, standing tall and poised as he saluted the group of officers. Marcus raised his hand slightly to relieve the man of his official duties of addressing his superiors. "News Frost?" Gene simply nodded quickly, the rumbling of footsteps came in through the door behind the soldier, Berserk making his way inside the office as he looked down at the group, Jason growled madly as he stood hovering over his little sister, Ali standing from her chair as she looked up at the the beastly looking man, feeling with her powers his emotions and feeling, she wasn't comfortable with him in the room. Marcus stood from his chair too, sending a angry glare to his newly appointed subordinate. "What is the meaning of this Berserk?" The giant man only snickered as he leaned against the doorway.

"That commandant chump is missing, even dearest daddy can't find him in the base. Now everyones uptight about finding him" He laughed more, feeling small shots of pain radiate from his ruin, the giant felt the pain and showed his glowing red eyes as he smiled. Marcus had no time to deal with Felix, the commandant needed to be found.

"Jason, sniff him out and report to me immediately when he's found" Jason grunted, but nodded as he transformed and pushed past Gene and rushed into the hallway, Pocket followed closely. Ali started to walk towards the exit, feeling a hand grab onto her wrist lightly, turning around she saw the marked man stare at her directly as he spoke softly.

"Where are you going?" Ali released her hand as she looked back at the mystic, his voiced seemed....concerned.

"Our commandant is missing, that's in the up most importance to find the leader in charge of our base...sir" Ali saluted before turning and joining the search, Marcus right behind her, eventually running past her as she now followed behind the commander, letting a smile creep past her lips. Outside of the Commandants living quarters, Berserk drew his fist back and swung forward, knocking down the steel door barrier, shocking Madam Touch as she awoke from her nap on the couch waiting for her son to return. The giant made his way slowly into the quarters, seeing Madam Touch's eyes glow bright green as she stood with her arms crossed, standing her ground as the man towered over her

"Hello again Tabitha...how long has it been?" Berserk smiled wickedly, Touch stuck him with a swift kick to his chest dark as he backed up a couple of steps, due to his limitation on power, he was forced to deal with the bone cracking pain.

"Not long enough Felix" The man smiled as he suddenly dashed forward, connecting his shoulder to collide with Touch, sending the woman through Dante's door, the wood broken and scattered on his floor, Touch laid unconscious as Dante stirred from his sleep. The teen was lazy due to the drugs, looking up, his heart leapted as he saw his father in the doorway staring down at the two.

"I beg to differ" Berserk smiled, Tank transformed into his steel form as he weakly stood and scooped his grandmother into his bed, standing now face to face his with father. Edited by Mage17

Ali rushed through the halls, her chest heaving slightly her body somewhat weaker than she thought it would be, she stopped for a minute to catch her breah and wave of emotion sending her to her knees, the fear and panic swallowing her whole. She stood and spun on her heel heading back down the hall, turning the corner she saw the door to a living quarter in shambles. She pulled a knife from her case slowly as she approached the door, looking around the corner she looked inside and saw the large man from before standing over a teenager, her eyes widened.
"Dante..."
Her own panic began to rise, she knew the boy, and her panic doubled as another young boy came from another room rubbing sleep from his eyes.
"Daddy?"
The large man's gaze turned towards the small child and Ali ran forward, scooping the child into her arms she threw her knife and pushed against the steel clad teen making him move to the side as a large fist came down, dust and debris spreading into the air.
"Mom?"
Ali looked at the teen and put her hands on his chest pushing him towards the door as the young child climbed from her arms and onto his shoulders.
"Get out of here Dante!"
She watched him go and cought the large man in the back of the knee with a powerful kick making him fall to one knee and look over his shoulder at her.
"You think you can beat me with out that Commandant fellow helping you out this time?"
"This time? I've never fought you before you son fo a-"
Her words were cut off as he planted his hands on the floor and swung both legs around knocking her feet out from under her, she hit the floor with a grunt and flipped her self back onto her feet facing the man with a frown.
"I have no idea who you are, but I won't let you hurt these children."
He chuckled low in his throat and charged her, his shoulder going into her stomach as he plowed her through the far wall and into the hall, she scrambled to her feet and held her stance as he came at her again, she was ready this time and dropped low only to growl as his thick hand wrapped around her throat and pulled her up off the floor.
"I don't think so vixen. Not this time. I know better now."
She struggled against his grip finding it stronger but the minute, reaching to her leg she grabbed one of her knives and brought it up driving it into his hand, he roared in pain and threw her down the hall, her scream echoing as she hit the steel door of another room, the rune on the door glowing slightly as she stood back up, her wrist burning for a moment before she threw her self at the man, he was easily three times her size, but she was less concerned with that and more concerned with beating the life from him. Something about him setting her off in all the wrong ways. Leaping high into the air she used her weight and spun around brining her left foot across his his chin knocking him to his back, landing deftly she brought her right leg down and growled as he caught it wiping blood from his lip. He stood, still holding onto her ankle as he lifted her into the air upside down. She threw her fist out and caught him in the groin he grunted and fell to his knees again dropping her heavily. He roared and brought his arm around, his fist hitting her across the face and sending her sprawling onto the floor, blood seeping from her lip as a bruise formed on her right cheek. He stalked towards her as she tried to sit up finding it harder than she thought it would be, her arms shaking and her body not wanting to obey her.
"It seems your still not fully healed woman."
She frowned up at him and grit her teeth as he knelt down over her, his breath smelling of whiskey and smoke, his skin looking like the color of sour milk. He wrapped his hand around her throat again and picked her up off the floor chuckling as she tried to pry his hand away from her air way.
"No one to save you this time little dear."
She kicked him in the stomach repeatedly, her attacks doing little more than making the man laugh, she squeezed her eyes shut.
'Someone...help me...'

Jason stopped out side of the training room as a faint echo filtered through is mind, the voice sounding more like his sister than he would of liked.
"Demetri! Get the hell out of there, we have a problem!"
He turned as Marcus ran up to him, Jason's eyes going wide as he saw only Marcus and Pocket.
"Where's Ali?! I thought she was with you!"
Marcus frowned and turned looking around cursing as he saw that Jason was indeed correct, she was no where to be seen. Jason whirled around and began to bang more onthe steel door to the training room.
"Demetri!"
No answer and as Jason turned to ask Marcus what to do next, he found the hall way missing the Mystic as Pocket bit her lower lip nervously. Jason slammed his fist into the wall creating a dent.
"What the **** is going on around here?!"

Jason's words tore into Marcus mind now, he had almost instantly whirled around and sprinted down the hall. His breathing becoming panicked as his mind raced, he felt out then for some sign. The rune on her body not reacting to his probing, her mind alteration having changed the effect of the rune, he wouldn't know the extent of the change until he found her. He reached out for another source, the only other rune he knew he could find, the behemoth instantly coming into his mind as he tried to pick up his pace, his runes flaring to life as they propelled him forward, his sandals having vanished with his need to move faster. The swords at his side swaying with his every movement, his muscles tensing up as his need grew to find the giant, his hands were balled into fists when he rounded the last corner. He felt his rage flare to life then, seeing the scene in his mind, Felix holding Ali in the air by the throat, he felt a sharp pain echoing through his mind as charged forward now, suddenly aware that Iron Bars' sword was in his hand as he closed the distance, sliding past the two he came up behind Felix. His blade reached out then, the edge sliding across his calf, the edge biting deep into his muscle as it came across the tendons, snapping them as his leg gave out, falling to the knee he still held her firmly in his large fist. Marcus placed the blade on the side of his neck then, still standing behind him.

"Let her go. I'll kill you if I must." Marcus face was stern then, the intent clear in his eyes, he wasn't aware that Ali was staring at his glowing runes, the energy pulsing off of him. Felix released his grip on her, the hand suddenly whipped back and grabbed the blade yanking it over his head, Marcus following with it, he released the handle then, spinning over the giants head before landing on his feet, one hand on the floor before he rose steadily. His hands still balled as he kept his eyes on Felix, he could hear Ali breathing heavily as she gripped her throat, trying to get her air back.

"Stay here Alex." He said as the runes wavered now, the shapes changing then, the lines shifting and moving around at will. Felix held the blade in both hands now and brought it down on his knee, it bounced harmlessly off much to Berserk's surprise. Marcus spoke coldly then.

"You won't break that weapon, no matter how are you try." He grunted in frustration as he threw it aside, using such that it jammed into a near by wall. Marcus had moved in front of her now, standing a foot away from her and looking the giant in the eyes.

"You seem to have issues with understanding orders." Felix just grinned at him, feeling blood running down his leg he remained standing as best he could. He scratched his face as he spoke now.

"I take it you'll use your runes to bring me down, seems like something you would do mystic." Marcus rolled his shoulders then, the light radiating off of him now.

"That would be too good for coward like you, lets make it even." Marcus lashed out with a fist then, the hit making contact as he felt bone crack, Felix hardly moved as he tried to return the hit, Marcus moving out of the way as he struck out again, hitting him in the ribs, Felix swinging again as Marcus moved out of his range before he leaped in the air and brought a blow down on the same bone he had cracked, he could hear the giant grunt with the pain it delivered. Felix surprised him then, using his uninjured leg to smash into Marcus, sending him into the air as he smashed into the wall, the impact making a impression as the walls cracked then. He was breathing heavy as he felt a soreness in his ribs now. He wasn't ready for this, his body still not at its maximum but he wasn't going to lose, he let lose a wave of power then, sending it spiraling into Berserk causing him to spin through the air and fall on his back. Marcus bringing the rune on Felix's body to life then, the pain radiating through his body, he grunted as he tried to rise, the pain keeping trying to bring the rage up but the other runes keeping it at bay. Ali took the opportunity then to jump on him, using her flexibility to flip into the air and smash into his chest with her feet. The effect brought the giant down on his back again, Ali getting on top of him then as furiously punching him as hard a she could. He pushed past the pain then, gripping her arm then, Marcus heard a sickening snap then, she screamed out in pain, the rune on that arm flare to life then sending the wave of pain into Marcus as he almost fell to his knees then. Felix gripped Ali's neck again, holding her so she was facing Marcus this time, Marcus felt her pain then, the rune finally reacting to something, the pain keeping him planted where he was.

"Can't do much with her in the way ca-" He was flung backwards then, Marcus eyes wide as he looked to see where the blast had come from. Neos stood by then, the little boys body glowing before it subsided. He ran to Marcus then, his little feet patting against the ground until he was standing before him now, hugging Marcus legs. Marcus patting his head a she saw the damage he had done, Felix had dropped Ali the moment he got hit, she crumpled the ground then. He looked to Neos then, speaking to him quietly.

"Neos, you can't tell mommy that your her baby ok?"

"I know daddy, not until she is all better." He smiled then as they both rushed to her, he heard the scrape of claws then, knowing Jason was around the corner now as he knelled beside Ali. He looked at her arm now as she cradled it, touched her rune then, changing it, just enough to be able to find her then. He looked at the obvious break now, thinking they had on option, he was about to speak when he heard another crack and then a scream from Ali. She had pushed the bone back into place, setting it properly, he was stunned momentarily before he pulled off Blues' bandanna from his arm and wrapped it around where the break was, tying it off she flinched a little before he helped her rise.

"Are you alright?" Was all he could manage then words escaping him as he tried to keep his breathing even now. Edited by Nergil Pendelton

Ali was still panting as she answered him, her eyes still on the little boy who had shown up.
"I'm fine, who the hell is that guy?"
Marcus helped her to her feet and frowned as she wavered slightly, his hands grabbing her shoulders instantly to keep her upright.
"His name is Beserk. And he's lower than dirt."
"I can see this."
She looked down at the little boy again, her eyes took him in, he had the same markings that the commander hand, only darker; but the more she looked at him the more she saw the Commandant. Marcus was almost thankful that the boy had grown so much in the last few months to resemble his fathers rather than his mother. He was now easily tall enough to reach Marcus' hip, broad and muscular like Demetri, but his skin had taken on a lighter olice tone than the mystic's, somewhat in between Demetri's skin tone and his own. The sandy colored hair the boy had was a clear give away of his blood relation to Demetri, only the boy and the Commandant had that shade of hair. Neos' eyes had gotten darker, the same color as Marcus' but there were days, and both men had noticed, when they would show a red tint to them, like Ali's. She shook her head as she heard her brother coming, she turned around and looked at him as him and Demetri, as well as Gene and Jeff came into sight, her eyes instantly locking onto the Commandant, his own warm hazle eyes locking onto her's and holding her gaze. She felt heat burst to life under her skin, her face heating from the blush that seeped into her face. She looked away and listened as the Commander beagn to fill the Commandant in on what had happened, she looked back up at the giant, her eyes taking the rest of him in. He was large, but muscled, handsome and rugged. The way he held him self almost seemed like nobility and prideful. She watched as the little boy ran to him, the giant's arms extending out and scooping the boy into a tight embrace as Marcus filled him on the panting giant on the floor.
"Neos did this?"
Marcus nodded.
"I've been wondering how his training is going. Seems as if he's getting stronger."
The sound of that made Ali nervous, though she couldn't understand why, her heart skipped a beat as the boy's eyes locked with her's, she waved nervously and stiffened as the boy leaned from the Commandant's arms and reached out to her, both men watched intently as she took a step forward and brought him to her with her good arm, feeling her chest tighten and get warm as he wrapped his arms around her neck and hugged her, his face tucking into her neck as his head rested on her shoulder. She held him somewhat tighter, not even sure why, closing her eyes she leaned her head on top of his as her body realxed. The boy looked up at her with a large grin.
"Are you alright Lady?"
She smiled softly and nodded.
"I'm alright kiddo. What's your name?"
"Neos."
"That's a very unique name."
"My Mommy wanted it to be. She said that I was special so my name had to be special."
She nodded and felt her body stiffen as shuffleing could be heard behind her, a faint glow glinting off the floor, she turned slowly holding the boy tighter to her as the giant of a man stood slowly. His body emitting red steam, the runes on his body glowing, than flickering, and then going dark as something over rid them. He stood his full height and looked down on the woman and child she held, Ali put Neos down and stood in front him of protectively.
"Didn't we put you on the floor?"
He didn't listen only reached forward and grabbed her broken arm, she grit her teeth and winced, planting her feet she tried her best to keep her place where she was standing in front of Neos, but found it harder to do as his body seemed to double in size and his hand tightened on her wrist, she screamed as it snapped in half within his grasp, a loud growl echoing through the hall as the large pale grey werewolf launched at the man, sinking it's teeth in to the man's arm and calwing at his skin trying to get his sister loos, the man chuckled, grabbed Jason by the scruff of his neck and threw him harshly against the wall.
"Jason!"
She glared back at the man, she could hear what sounded like gun shots, wiring coming loose to spark and shoot electricity around them, the hall lights flickering and a bright glow shining from behind her, she felt her chest heave, felt a coil begin in the pit of her stomach til it reached throghout her entire body, it set her skin on fire, made her eyes glow slightly red and her face grew dark. She wrapped her good hand around his wrist and closed her eyes, his face suddenly going blank as she began to mutter.
"Let me go."
He did, and she landed on her feet, she stood tall, her fists clentched tightly as she walked with him towards a lone conferance room, she instructed him to enter and both Marcus and Demetri watched horrified as he obeyed, she followed and took out a knife, striding over to him she pressed it in to his palm.
"I want you to cut your self, not enough to kill you, but enough to make you pass out with pain."
He nodded dumbly and just as he rose the blade to his skin she looked over her shoulder before closing the door.
"Don't scream"
He nodded again and the door closed on him as he made the first gash was made on his skin. She looked at the two men and the little boy shaking her head slightly before she rushed over to her brother.
"Jason! Are you alright?"
He nodded slowly and eyed the arm that hung useless at her side, winceing as he stood.
"Let's get you to Patch."
She nodded slowly before looking over her shoulder meeting the dark gaze of the Commander first, than the warm gaze of the Commandant, both sent a wave of fire through her system but she ignored it for now and helped her brother down the hall towards the med ward.

Marcus kept his eyes on the giant as h cut into himself, the blood flow steady with every slice. his mind marveled more at what lead to this event. He had felt it then, thunder without sound, he felt the pressure reverberate through his chest. Ali had just touched him, that was all it took and he was under her control, Marcus rune burned out around his head, it could only handle so much rage before it was rendered inert. He hadn't been surprised to seem him override the power it had, the other rune would remain intact as long as he didn't over use it. Every rune he knew, every technique he had developed could not utterly controls someones mind like that. And expenditure of power like that would surely leave someone feeling weak, Marcus started walking then, Demetri calling after him.

"I'm putting Neos to bed, don't do anything I wouldn't." Marcus didn't answer back as he kept walking, stopping only at the wall where the sword had been driven deep and yanking it out of the wall. He sheathed the weapon before he kept up his pace, a rift opening to his side as Pocket stepped through, the training with Neos had given here the strength to open rifts now, she could bring people with her now. Since Time worked differently in every dimension, Pocket could appear somewhere in a split second, or could make over land journeys only take a couple hours, instead of days. He had encouraged her to keep using her strengths, not to be discouraged by the travel operatives they had, he knew her power was more then that, he wouldn't be surprised one day if she could eventually manipulate dimensions. It was a somewhat unsettling thought but he imagined her nature would keep her from truly reaching that god like ego, she walked by his side now, following him through the halls.

"I'm glad you can use your powers without me Calypso. You can gather more information on your sister." Pocket nodded then.

"The runes are holding up, she seems to be getting closer to consciousness but I'm not sure yet." Marcus kept his gaze forward, his hands loose at his side now, his muscles not as tense, he still felt a tenderness in his ribs but ignored it as the pain faded, whatever cracked ribs had appeared were healing now. Marcus reflected on the means of bringing back her sister, her mind having been broken from her body proved to be a more taxing challenge, they couldn't make a connection to where her body was. Which, in Marcus mind, meant her body was gone, there was no physical form to attach her too but he wasn't about to just abandon Pocket and her chances at helping her. He stilled looked when he could, he having only recently come back into the shadow realm himself, finally making contact only a couple weeks ago he felt relieved to see the old mans grinning face, his fathers hooded visage, he was even partial now to Exodus. They soon arrived at the med ward then, going in to see Jason getting his arm put back into place, Stitch was handling the situation for him, the pop coming when Jason grunted, Stitch using his hands to start to heal any torn muscles in his shoulder. Marcus headed toward the other room as Pocket stayed with Jason and Stitch, He was thinking that Pocket might have been developing a crush on Jason, but he couldn't be sure, she was pretty good at keeping things like that to herself. He heard talking then, still continuing into the room as he heard the end of the conversation.

"...well I do spend to much time in this med ward, would you think you mi-" He was cut off when Marcus pushed through the current, he could see Patch finishing up his work then, he could see how he was tenderly holding her hand now, using his other to slowly glide over her skin, the green glowing working its way into her bones, fixing the damage then. Patch's eyes flicked up to Marcus and he saw it then, the burning desire in his looks, the slight triumphant in that look as he kept her hand in his grip, Marcus kept his expression blank as he raised a brow.

"How is the healing coming Patch?" Marcus tried to mask the vehement nature of the comment, mentally shaking himself so that he would relax, it took a few moments but he saw Patch release her hand and his heart stopped thumping so heavily.

"Very well, Commander. Your team leader of Alpha squad should be ready to go soon, she needs to just rest the arm for the moment and take a break, she's a bit beat up." Marcus nodded to him, Patch rising then, catching the glower in Marcus eyes as he left the room, attending to some other mundane task still standing close enough in ear shot. Marcus tried to keep himself in check as he spoke.

"Hows the arm feel?" Ali nodded then.

"It feels better, Patch did a good job."

"Good, can't have one of my top operatives out already." He thought he might have seen a slight color hit her cheeks, she was still sitting on the medical bed rolling her wrist lightly as to get the soreness out.

"You need to be a little less serious Commander." Ali suddenly said, it had caught Marcus off guard, he was use to his expression being hard, Ali was one of the few who saw a frequent smile on his face. He let out a sigh, a smile breaking his face as he let out a soft laugh, walking over and sitting beside her he took a deep breath.

"Can't help it, most of my life was spent in serious situations."

"Well, I can relate to that." He nodded to her then.

"I know, I've seen your file. You had a tough life growing up." She nodded then, he picked up the conversation to keep it moving, not wanting her to dwell on the painful memories.

"At least you have your brother, he'll always be here. If we can put him on a leash at least." He got a soft laugh out of her then, the laugh warming his heart more as his smile grew, a small laugh escaping him as well. He touched his arm then, the bare place where his blue bandanna had been she traced the runes there.

"These markings, they are really amazing. I saw the light, and how they changed, its truly beautiful sight." His heart almost stopped right there, the words echoing in his mind now as she traced the runes gently. She stopped midway as he suddenly shifted the lines, making them take on new shapes, he heard a slight gasp as she saw the light and the way the changed. She traced the new lines now, her gentle touch making him want to shiver, he had to suppress the need. Shields words echoed in his mind now.

"She may not remember you anymore, but trust me, that kind of love, the kind of love she has for you and my son, that still exists." He turned his head to look at her, seeing how she was fascinated by the runes, she pulled away then, looking over and picking up the blue bandanna and tried to hand it back to him. He shook his head at the gesture.

"Hold on to it. I'm sure it'll comeback one day." She withdrew it then, he could see a slight blush on her face, the rosy color to her cheeks making his face darken as he looked away. He felt almost like a little kid again. She quickly started up the conversation again.

"You are very, unusual Commander." He let out a nervous chuckle then.

"I'm not surprised to hear that."

"But I like that, your smile too." He let out another nervous laugh as he felt his heart beat become rapid.

"Thank you, I usually only smile for someone in particular."

"Who is she?" Marcus let his mind flood with memories then, the warmth of them all making his smile gentle now.

"She was someone, very special. I shared a lot with her that I never did before, she is actually the only other person I've ever loved." He back handed his arm then, he laughed as he leaned away, rubbing the arm and seeing the playful look on her face.

"Don't hold out on me, what is her name." He just smiled at her then.

"Someone I hope to see again." She shook her head at him as she rolled her eyes, he laughed as rubbed the spot where she had smacked him moments ago, still feeling the slight sting of the impact. Edited by Nergil Pendelton

Ali walked back to her room, silent, her thoughts centered around to many things to even try to sort them out. Shaking the thoughts away for the time being she made it to her room and frowned slightly at the figure leaning on her door.
"Patch, what are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be in the med ward?"
"Got off shift a little while ago, thought I would swing by and see how the arm is holding up."
She slammed her fist into the wall, creating a small dent and smiled as she flexed her fingers.
"Holding up just great apparently."
Patch strode over to her and frowned down at her, grabbing her hand he inspected it, the green glow from his hand as he ran it across her skin a few times til he was comfortable there was no damage.
"You have to find better means of proving things like that."
She scoffed up at him and took her hand back.
"Please, that's like asking a dog not to beg for meat."
"Tell me something I don't know. But look, the other reason I came by was I never got to finish asking you a question at the med ward earlier."
"What's that?"
"I'm getting the night off tomorrow, and I was wondering if maybe you might want to, I dunno go for a drink or something? With me?"
She raised an eye brow at him as she dug her card key from her pocket.
"What like a date?"
"If you wanna call it that, yeah. A date."
She swiped her card through the reader and stepped into the door way turning to look at him as she leaned on the door frame.
"I dunno Patch, I don't want you getting the wrong idea."
"I won't just a couple of old friends going out for a drink. That's harmless right?"
She thought for a few more moments before rolling her eyes at his hopeful look.
"Fine, but just friends. Nothing more than that got it?"
"Why have eyes for someone else?"
He chuckled as she growled.
"No I do not. And even if I did, it's none of your business, is it?"
He held up his hands smiling.
"No, not at all. But come on, we've known each other since we were kids. I know you Alex."
She blushed slightly before closing her eyes and gritting her teeth.
"I do NOT have eyes for anyone else at this base."
"Else? Does that mean you have eyes for me?"
She growled again before hitting the button to close the door, her cheeks heating even more as he laughed at her.
"Good night Patch."
Leaning agains the door she listend as he walked away, sighing she made her way through the room and flopped down on her bed, the cool sheets making her sigh comfortably. Only to let out a string of curses that would have made a full grown man blush. Getting back up she changes clothes, swapping out her black jeans for a pair of dark blue ones, her red shirt for a black tank top, her trench coat, boots and gloves stayed the same. She looked in the mirror and frowned as she caught sight of a small trail on her cheek, the design looking much like the runes that the Commander had eteched all over his body, tracing it with her finger tip she stood straight and looked at her self completely. The scars on her arm and chest making her somewhat self consious but at the same time giving her character, as well as the one on her neck and shoulder. Shrugging into her jacket she grabbed her extra knives and headed out the door as the announcement repeated itself.
"Alpha team, assemble in the war room asap."
Stepping out her door she locked it and looked up as voices filtered down the hall.
"-You don't have to do this son."
"I know Dad, but...I don't want to be afraid anymore."
The Commandant and another man came around the corner, or at least that's what she thought til she caught sight of Dante, forgetting for a moment just how large the boy was.
"Commandant, Tank. Good to see you two."
Demetri looked down at her and instantly Ali felt her feet drop out from under her as his hazel gaze locked with her's, feeling a blush start to color her cheeks she looked away.
"Any idea about what's going on?"
Demetri shook his head as the continued to walk towards their desination.
"None."
They reached the room after a few more minutes, Ali heart leaping into her throat as Demerti's arm brushed agaist her's, a small spark making her jump; shaking it off she entered the room and blinked as Marcus stood at the front of the table as well with Shield and a woman she had never seen before. The Commader spoke as soon as everyone was accounted for.
"This is my mother, she is here because she has something to tell us."
The woman took a step forward and sighed.
"I have seen a dream, of a young woman not far from here. She's one of us and in danger. Your objective is to find her, and bring her here."
Ali nodded as well as the others as they all began to gear up, the door sliding open, only to slid shut behind none other than Beserk, Dante almost instantly hiding behind Demetri whose face had gone red with rage.
"What is the meaning of this?!"
Shield held up his hand and shook his head.
"There is nothing I can do my boy. Since he is under your protection, he goes where you go."
The Commandant sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, something Ali smirked at since it was something she did regularly as well. In all actuality it was something Demetri had picked up from the woman while they had been married over the last 3 years. He released his fingers and nodded.
"Fine, but you listen to me, go off on your own, your on your own."
The man smirked, the smirk turning into a wicked frown as Demetri continued.
"And another thing, touch any member on this team innapproriatly, I'll have you thrown in the brig before you can blink. Do you understand me soldier?"
The man nodded as he growled low in his throat, Sheild sighed and cleared his throat to get the team's attention.
"Alright that's enough. Time to leave."
With that statement made, Cloak appeared and covered them in the dark cloak, within moments they stood outside a small clearing, the village that was centered in it would have looked peaceful and quaint, had it not been for the smoke rising from the houses and charred feilds. They began to walk slowly towards the village, all of them silent and alert including Beserk. Reaching the outskirts of the village Jason stopped and covered his nose as his eyes began to water, Pocket stopped and looked at him worridly.
"What's the matter?"
"So much blood..."
It was than that Ali smelt it as well, she didn't beed Jason's sensitive nose to smell the decaying bodies, the copper scent of blood that stained the ground. Demetri released the saftey on his pistols as Sasa did the same, Ali had her hands on her knives as Marcus' runes began to glow, red mist seeped from Beserk's pores as Tank went full steel. She could hear the steam coming from Gene in the back and the concentration flowing from Jeff as they stayed at the entrance to the town with Jason who refused to go further. The rest of the team ventured forth catiously and Ali noticed that she was between the Commander and the Commandant, which usually would have made her uneasy but instead she felt safe, secure. Reaching out with her powers she shook her head as she got nothing from surviving villagers, but what she did get shocked her.
"There is a camp of deserters just to the east of us."
Demetri nodded and motioned for the team to head in that direction, Ali stopped breifly as her foot struck something soft in the dirt, looking down she caught sight of a small ragdoll, covered in mud and stains that made her shiver slightly. Blood. Shaking it off she contined up the hill following the others til they reached the peak, looking down on the camp that the rowdy men had made. A large fire blazed in the middle of the camp as they seemed to be feasting on the last of the town's cattle. Ali curled her lip in disgust. Before she caught sight of a large man who was striding around the camp proudly. A short sword at his side which was half hidded by the large stomach the man had. He was ugly, his facial hair matted with gods only knew what, his hair was greasy and his clothes were filthy. Ali could see that the other men in the camp were just as soiled but he took the prize. Demetri frowned as he caught sight of the man as well.
"That's Eli Ratcliff... I was told he died."
Ali shook her head as the name rang a bell.
"Ratcliff? You mean Encyclopidia? The memory freak?"
Demetri nodded.
"He went AWOL years ago and the entire base was told he died. I guess he just deserted."
Ali nodded as he looked down at her, his gaze making her breath hitch as she held it as long as possible before a sound drew everyone's attention. A high pitched scream that made their blood curdle. Eli looked up as one of his men drug a woman in front of him.
"Found her hiding in the loft of the town barn Capin', wot you want me to do with er'?"
Eli gave the poor woman a wicked grin as he leaned down and cupped her chin turning her face with way and than as he inspected her.
"Give her to the men. She's to old for me."
Demetri lept from his spot and charged down the hill, the others not far behind him as they rushed the deserters. The fight was easy, the team easily over powering the humans that Eli had surrounded him self with. They tied the men's hands behind their backs and began to look through thier belongings, finding that most of the men there were deserters from the military. Demetri scowled at them and began to speak with Marcus about what actions they should take, being the higest ranking officers amoungst them, it was their descision. Ali explored the camp sight, trying to find leads on whether or not these people were connected to their objective. She filtered in and out of tents til she came to the largest one, most likely Eli's, she covered her nose, the gut wrenching odor making her want to vomit, or pass out...or both. Moving the flap of the tent her eyes watered as the smell intensified, entering she began to look through the man's personal items, finding maps and other things that might have been clues but those thoughts left her as she caught sight of a small pink ribbon that was resting on the ground by a couple of dirty blankets. Walking over she picked it up getly, feeling her throat tigthen and her mind go blank as a thin patch of golden hair came off the ground with it, following it with her eyes she saw it led to whatever was resting under the blankets. Something in her mind told her not to look, to just turn around and leave but she didn't listen to it and as she lifted the corner of the blanket up she wished she had. Dropping the the material she felt the scream bubbling in her throat when all of a sudden it died as cold rage took over her. Bending down she scooped up the budle of blankets and walked from the tent, her pace slow and full of purpose. As she entered the area where Demetri and Marcus were still discussing their options all noise stopped as they noticed her, tears trailing silently down her flushed cheeks, her red eyes glowing with unretrained rage. They watched as she put the pile of blankets down and stood, slowly making her way to where Eli stood, he watched her move towards him and the others could see fear build up in him as she stood an arms length from him. She didn't look at him as she reached out, her palm out towards his chest, but the man began to panic as he tried to back away from her, unrational fear grasping him as her palm touched his chest. It happened than, the small clearing rolled with silent thunder, the pressure in the air releasing around them making the ground shudder and everything to turn silent around them. The sky began to darked as clouds closed in around them and the team watched as the man's panic striken face went lax. His gaze going lazy and empty as he stared down at her. She took one of her knives and cut the ropes off his wrist and stood before him with the knife outstreched, his next words chilled everyone to the bone.
"Master?"
"Take this knife, and cut those off."
She indicated to his pants, the dirty fabric hanging loosely on him; he grasped the knife and complied instantly, a sickening smile spreading on his face as he thought he was making her happy. What happened next would haunt the rest of them for the rest of their lives. Ali pointed to the appendage between the man's legs before looking back up at him, her eyes still glowing red as her voice echoed hurt and rage.
"Cut it off."
Demetri took a step forward and started to say something when she looked him, the look on her face making him stop, his voice dying in his throat, they watched horrified as with a painful scream the man held the thing in his blood soaked hand, the blank look still on his face. Ali merely looked at him unforgivingly.
"Eat it."
The group of people around her stared at her crulety and malace, most of them holding back the urge to vomit as the man did as he was instructed, blood covering his face as he did so greedily ready to appease the woman who stood in front of him. Ali pointed to the large tent she had come from, the man's gaze followed her finger and he looked back down at her.
"Go stand in there."
The man nearly tripped over his feet as he tried to hurry as she commanded, wanting nothing more than to do so quickly and please her, blood soaking the ground as it ran down his legs. Ali walked to the fire and picked up a small log, the end in the fire burning brightly as she walked back to the tent, she looked at the man again.
"Don't move. Don't scream. In fact I want you to smile."
The man's face split into a sick, mindless grin as she threw the burning piece of wood on the top of the tent and walked away, flames comsuming it with in seconds...the man never screamed once as he burned alive. Walking through the camp she didn't speak to anyone, walking up the hill she walked under the cover of a large willow and hid her self from view. Demetri watched appaled as the woman left only speaking when she was out of ear shot.
"What the hell was that all about?!"
Marcus' voice drew his attention.
"The bastard deserved everything she gave him, and worse."
Demetri strode over to where Marcus was looking at the pile of blankets, under it was the corpse of a young girl, no older than possibly 10, her golden colored hair matted with blood and gods only knew what else, her right leg bent at an unnatural angel, the skin discolored black, purple, green and blue. Clearly broken. Her small ribcage was dented in and covered with blood from the cruel treatment the man had given her, but what made the two men looking at her broken body angry beyond anything was the mess between the young girls legs. Blood and dirt covered her bare thighs, the stench of bodily fluids made them want to retch. Demetri closed his eyes as his mind wandered to his daughter safe at home, covering the small girl back up with the blanket he watched as Marcus blasted a hole in the ground and their buried her, Ali's actions no longer questioned. Once done they turned on the other men who began to beg for death before the monster of a woman came back down the hill to finish them all off. The two men looked over the bound captives, both frowning; disturbed by what they had just seen Ali do, and by the fact of what pushed her to that choice. Demetri looked down at Marcus.
"I think we should call their commanding officers and return them."
Marcus nodded silently as he glanced over his shoulder towards where Ali had gone. Demetri did the same, both still concerned for the woman. Shaking his head Marcus approached the men and knelt down face to face with a thin man.
"We came here looking for someone. A woman who is rumored to have powers, like the one you just saw."
The man was sweating as he took Marcus in, the runes glowing slightly as the Mystic stared down at the man. He made a nervous sound from within his throat before he nodded.
"T-there was a woman who was here when we infiltrated this village a few days ago...S-she wiped out almost all of our company...we're all that's left."
"How did she do it?"
"I-I don't know! She just touched the men and they fell to the ground dead!"
Marcus stood and looked back at Demetri who had a frown on his face, both men looking over the nervous team, the only one who didn't seem bothered in the least was Felix. He leaned a tree nearby looking towards where Ali had vanished to. The large man caught Marcus' gaze and smiled wickedly.
"Quite the firecracker she's turned out to be. I think I could get into a woman like that."
Demetri whirled around on the man, his body sparking with electricity.
"You go near her I'll make sure you never see the light of day."
Beserk chuckled.
"I don't think she's the same woman you fell in love with 'Commandant', seems she grew an evil bone when she warped her own pathetic mind. I think it made her more sexy than when I first saw her."
Marcus clentched his fists, closing his eyes he took a deep breath trying to keep his own anger held back.
"Right now, we have to focus on our objective. Find this woman and get back to base. Demetri, agreed?"
The giant nodded fiercly, Marcus looked back to the man he had spoken to before.
"What did she look like?"
The man swallowed thickly before he answered.
"She was tall, pale skined and yellow hair. She had bright green eyes and was wearing an old uniform like the one that man has on."
He inclined his head in Demetri's direction, Marcus and Demetri glanced at one another before looking back at the men, Demetri's heavy voice calling out to him now.
"Where did she go?"
"N-north."
Demetri looked back at the others.
"Marcus, go get Ali back here. Everyone else, look around and see what we can find as far as clues go. As for you men; your commanding officers will be contacted and you'll face the consequences."
Everyone nodded and did as they were told.

The dark room was silent until a deep elderly voice echoed as they watched the small screen glowing in the middle of the room.
"She is developing well. It won't be much longer til she can be of use to us."
Another voice echoed out in response.
"The relationship errors between her and Commander Demos and Commandant Athens have worked in our favor. It drove her to go to Break. He must have broken down the mental wall on this level of her power."
Agreements sounded around the room.
"The only problem I can see is if she manages to reconnect with one of them."
The first voice echoed out commandingly.
"Than we keep it from happening. As soon as they return we will call her to be detained to the brig for murder of a civillian. This will keep her under our watch until she is stable and has the ability to control this new power. She will be of use to us, and our mission to cleanse this world."
The room fell silent as the screen showed Marcus approaching the willow tree that Ali sat under, her face blank as tears rolled down her face. Edited by Knuckles' Girl

Marcus had tried to keep his head on straight, seeing what Ali had did, his mind was torn in two directions now. He saw what she had done to that man, and being born with the same antimony he felt the phantom pain himself, seeing how gruesome the act was, it provided a mental image he never wanted to see done again. But, when he saw the small form, the broken body of that child he had raped and murdered, he understood all to well why she did it, justice came on swift wings when it was administrated. Marcus had done something like that a few times, during his time away from the HDF for the decade he had been in the desert. His final conclusion came hard then, she had been in the right, even if her method was a brutal. Brutal acts required the same heavy handedness, people like that needed to die, Marcus hoped to be free of his Commander title one day, he couldn't be truly himself again until he was away again, out of the HDF's hands. And if he could bring Ali back, if he could win her heart, he hoped he could pull her away from it all too, still use their powers as they saw what was right, but be free at last. He sighed lightly to himself then, admonishing himself for those thoughts, they would never be out of their sight, as long as he was as powerful as he was, and her powers kept developing like it was. She stood under the willow now, seeing how she held herself close now, he could see her body shudder softly, he knew the tell tale sign of her weeping then, subtle things like that stuck out to him now.

He climbed the hill she stood on, the willow blowing gently in the wind as he reached where she stood, standing beside her as he simply looked out at the rest of the forest then. He kept his hands at his sides, repressing the need to wrap his arms around her and hold her tight, he had seen himself coming u behind her and gently putting his arms around her middle. He envisioned just holding her as he whispered to her, telling her that it was all ok, that everything she did was the right thing, he wanted her to know that he still loved her. Everything he wanted to say he couldn't do, not until she gave her heart to him, if she even did that. No, all he did no was stand there now, she didn't look at him, just kept quiet as she stared off, the tears rolling down.

"I knew it was you, Marcus." He kept silent then, feeling his chest rise and lower faster then it should, trying to keep everything controlled he spoke then.

"Truly? How so?" He asked, the curiosity in his voice as he kept it even.

"You step lightly, I can barely hear your steps, but when you get close enough, I can hear you breath harder. It's slight, but I hear it." Marcus was at a loss of words then, he didn't know how she managed to do that. He understood the subtle things about her body, her scent was a number one tell, other things were far less noticeable, the way she moved, the way she walked, it all stuck out to him. He spoke now, his throat finally having loosened enough.

"You did the right thing Ali. His crime.... it called for that sort of punishment." She just nodded then, the tears slowly dying away then as Marcus kept speaking.

"Right now, we have a lead for the woman we are looking for. She has the ability to take life, we need to tread carefully now." Ali nodded again, she turned away then and started walking down the hill, Marcus taking his time before turning away, thinking about how many different ways this could have gone. He shook his head then, the world feeling heavy on his shoulders again as he held on to the thoughts he had before, of every thought of how he wanted to take her away from it all. Life in the desert, in the forest, in the world away from the rest of the world was always more relaxing. He held on to that hope now, never wanting to let it go as he followed in her wake, one hand resting on the handle of his sword as he tried to steel himself.

They waited around only for a little while before they saw the commanders of the deserters arrive, departing after a few words they set out into the thick forest, their hearts heavy now with the scene. The memory of all of the death and blood lingered with them long after they had left the dingy camp miles back. Marcus had fallen to the back of the pack, his left hand resting on Blue's sword now as he watched the darkness around them, the trees crowded around them, blocking out any light with their thick canopies. The thickness of the darkness around them made him nervous, his eyes looking to where Ali walked ahead of the group, she held herself high, taking on the roll of command easily. He saw Demetri standing not to far form her now, his eyes shifting between the two. He felt his grip tighten slightly, his eyes then traveling down to his left arm, seeing the twin scars now. One on the outside of his forearm, the other on the inside. His eyes finding the other on his right arm now, the wound having been deep enough to cut the tendons in his arms, he reached up then, feeling the two marks on his chest now, the fine, thin scars bringing back the chilling memory. He knew there were two identical marks on his back, he didn't want to remember anymore.

'You'll die soon enough anyways!' Marcus whipped around then, both swords n his hands in an instant as he stared off into the darkness. The words having echoed in his mind, the sick voice that held on to his mind tightly now. He growled then, his grip on the weapons tight now. The other stopping now as they noticed him no longer moving, weapons drawn they fanned out.

"Where are you?" Marcus yelled out into the darkness, and as if on command, the darkness formed and brought to life the black skinned life form of Anomander. His wicked grin showing now, Marcus standing before him, holding up one f his blades as he heard Jason step forward to bar his path.

"So astute of you Marcus. What gave me away?" Marcus lowered the blade and focused his dark eyes on him.

"I could..... feel you now. You took something from me, something that made you, stronger." The grin only grew as he seemed to flex his clawed hand.

"I wondered how long it would take you to notice." Demeitr stepped forward then, his energy crackling around him now.

"What does he mean Marcus?"

"He used a spell on me, in the shadow realm. He took something from me." Anomander laughed then.

"I took your knowledge, I took your 'wisdom', and I took your life. 889 years of it to be exact, Mystic." Marcus felt his heart stop, his hands losing grip for just a moment. It wasn't possible, nothing he knew could pull that much life from someone unless freely given.

"No, you couldn't have taken that. Not with a simple spell, I would have had to give you that much."

"Exactly, the spell was a catalyst. You gave up those years, for her." Anomander didn't gesture then, Marcus knew what he meant then. He had given up his life for Ali, somewhere in his subconscious he had decided to will it all away. He would have outlived her easily, out lived her entire family and his own, he might have even seen Neos grow old and die. He tried to keep his features expressionless, the muscles twitching on his body and his face. He shuddered at the thought, he had given it all up, unintentionally. The his hands suddenly gripping the blades tightly in his hands, a growl erupting from his throat.

"That's how he keeps finding us, because of me." Anomander shook his head then.

"I found you, because of him." He pointed then, to the giant with his clawed finger. Marcus understanding that as well, seeing how he had put them all in danger, because of his attempt at keeping peace in the base. Marcus felt his heart beat hard now, the sound of his heart beat thumping in his ears, panic threatened to take him now. His mind was blank then, only filling with thoughts of blame now, he had brought this down on them now, and they would all perish because of his mistake. Edited by Nergil Pendelton

Ali watched the scene play out, the man pointing at Beserk as he smiled wickedly, talking about taking something from the Commander; the thought of him harming the Mystic sent a fire of rage through her being and she strode forward, Demetri and Marcus both trying to stop her but unable to with her quick movements, Jason finally wrapping his long arm around her shoulders to keep her back.
"Who are you and what do you want with us?"
"There are six left, six that I have yet to take. And I will take them. Two of them happen to be with you right now."
"Stop playing with us!"
She balled her slender hands into fists, her eyes gaining an evil red glow to them as she began to shake, the signs of her new power wanting to emerge and the threw her brother off of her, not willing to risk him being in danger as she took a few more steps forward putting herself between the man and her team.
"You will answer me, or I will make you answer me."
He sneered at her as he began to slowly move forward, closing the distance between him self and her, he stopped within an arms length of her and she prayed that he would only come that much closer.
"I know what you wish woman, and it won't happen. Before you would even touch me to release this new found power of yours, I'll have killed you."
She grit her teeth in irratation, his eyes suddenly shifting to Marcus.
"I see you have something of mine. I would like it back."
She saw his eyes shift to the sword on the Commander's hip, a sudden protective need rising in her and she shifted to the side to block Marcus from his veiw.
"You have to go through me before you get any where near them."
He chuckled, showing his gleaming, fanged teeth.
"That is not a problem little one."
He reached for her than and she quickly side stepped and reached out to grab his wrist only to blink as her hand wrapped around air, spinning around she swung her leg around as well and smiled as she heard the grunt as her leg connected.
"Got you, you smug bastard."
Looking up she frowned as he smiled down at her, her ankle in his hands.
"Your fast, but not fast enough."
She felt her world shift as he swung his body around, taking her with him, the momentum making her body shift more as her grounding foot left the dirt, bringing her body up she wrapped her hands around his neck and used the momentum of his swing and her body weight to throw her self forward and flip him backwards, the move happening in such a blur that the others were having a hard time keeping up. Twisting her body around she linked her arms through his and held them behind his back, her eyes now glowing a constant red as she felt the pressure build inside of her til it was ready to burst free, and just as she was about to let it loose he shifted, rolling onto his back the man was heavier than she would have imagined. She let out a scream as his body weight crushed her ribs, tasting the blood pool in her mouth as she felt close to half her ribs break. Getting one of her arms loose she brought it up and slammed her elbow into the joint of his shoulder and neck gritting her teeth as it seemd to do more damage to her arm than the man him self.
"Dammit."
Reaching around she pulled out one of her throwing knives and brought it down on the man's shoulder only to hear him laugh.
"You are a fiesty one aren't you woman?"
She growled and yelped as he managed to flip their posistions, pinning her to the dirt, she could hear the others begin to move in and shouted from the ground.
"Stay back!"
The shuffleing stopped.
"Get Beserk out of here, if he's the one he's after, get him out!"
No one moved, no one dared move as her orders rang through the dense trees.
"That's an order! Get the hell out of here!"
Anomander frowned as he tried to stand, finding it difficult, nearly impossible; unable to understand why til he felt her legs tighten around him painfully, cutting his breath short as she constricted around his ribs.
"You stupid wench."
She growled low in her throat as he twisted her wrist, wrenching the blade from her hand.
"I will either have his life, or yours, you make that choice now woman."
"I won't let you take a life! Not one I was put in charge to protect!"
"Very well than, your life it is."
He spun the small blade in his hand, the point of it aiming directly for her heart, she frowned up at him before a wicked smile graced her beautiful face making him frown. It was than that he noticed it, her hand slayed delicatly on his chest.
"Got you."
Thunder without sound filled the area, the internal rumble of it shaking the group harshly from being so close to it this time, the faint after shock making the rest of the team go blank for a few seconds before they were able to shake it off. Ali lay there, under the man as his eyes widened only to slid shut.
"Get off of me."
Her voice was devoid of all emotion, the sound of it making Demetri and Marcus shiver, until they heard the chuckle. It started softly, than grew in volume as Anomander's shoulders began to shake.
"I see, so that is what you are. I can not say I am surprised, the daughter of the late Exodus Talon, the Grim Reaper himself not being able to bend this ability to his will, but you, you in just a few short hours of achiveing it have already begun to master it. How interesting."
She felt her body turn cold as he rose slightly above her, the gleaming knife held high as he smiled wickedly down at her.
"I think I should rid my self of you before you become a major problem to me woman."
She closed her eyes, ready for the killing blow that never came, a blast sounded than, sounding like a gun shot as she felt a rush of wind move above her. The Commandant striding forward, another wind blast charging in his palm as Marcus's runes began to shift and glow.
"Touch her again, you will die."
"You are such a pathetic man. I should have known you would be weak to such an emotion."
"Shut up!"
Demetri's booming voice echoed through the trees as he charged yet another wind blast in his free palm, he stood in from of her protectivly now, his large frame blocking her from veiw.
"I won't let you touch her."
The man chuckled before flicking his wirst, Ali grunted behind Demetri as she felt the sting in her chest, looking down she blinked as she saw the blade handle protruding from her chest, directly under her heart; the pain sinking in than as she fell backwards. The man was gone within the shadows again.
"I will break you, one by one, taking what you most hold dear to you; allowing you to watch as it slips beyond your reach."
His cackle echoing all around them as Demetri knelt by her side, Jason and Marcus not far behind as the others began to scan the area, waiting for him to return, one small voice lost on them as Luwien leaned agsint a tree.
"Grim Reaper...Exodus. My uncle talked about him...he was...he was my father..."
Ali coughed, her airway begining to flood with the blood from her chest to eject from her mouth and splatter against the pale skin of her cheeks, Demetri acting purly on instinct to save the woman as he bent forward, pressing his lips to her's and began to suck the blood from her mouth clearing her throat and enabling her to breath.
"Jason, get Patch here now."
Marcus shook his head.
"No! Call Stitch. I don't was Patch anywhere near her!"
Demetri looked at him frowning, Marcus giving him a pointed look saying he would explain later, they tensed as a shadow passed over them before landing in the middle. It was a woman, wild looking with yellow hair and green eyes. She was slender, feminen and beautiful, she put her hands on her hips gesturing with a nod of her head.
"Follow me. My name is Coli, call me Leech, we have to get her somewhere where we can stablize her."
They nodded and Demetri wasted no time in scooping Ali up gently.
"Hand on Alex, we'll get you fixed up. I promise."
She nodded, her head lolling to the side as she rested it against the broad chest of the Commandant, pain taking over as she blacked out, a slight pressure on her hand; unaware of Marcus squeezing it lightly and running his thumb across the top as he tried to keep him self calm, the others following closly behind. Edited by Knuckles' Girl

Luwein felt as if someone had woken him from a deep slumber, forcefully. He didn't hear Tank call to him nor did he feel him grab his hand, Luwein did not even know his feet were carrying him as Tank led the way. All Luwein knew was confusion, he could not process this information so soon after his uncle's death which had left him almost mute and numb.

Luwein thought back to when Mist was killed and his murderer had attempted to end him as while but fail thanks to Ali... His.. Sister. Luwein did not know whether to be angry, upset or happy. Maybehe was a little more angry that all his life he felt alone and abandon whilst Ali and Jason had time with his...parents, why was he given up how did he come to to only know his uncle who had apparently left him with strangers in the wilderness. Luwein eyes began to water luckily they were all focused on getting to somewhere safe to tend to Ali, he didnt have to try to hid his emotions.

The thought of Ali brought him back to reality.

"Just below this hill" He heard the woman called leech say.

"...Watch your step..Err i mean" Tank gripped on to Luwein tightly. "Just hold on..." Luwein nodded, as they landed with a thud. Luwein smiled slightly as he helped Tank regain his balance when in fact he was the one guilding Luwein.

"In here." Leech said, Luwein heard an old door creek open and he felt himself being ushered in.

"Bring her in here" Luwein heard and felt everyone move to where the woman was, "Not all of you, the room is small just make yourselves comfortable, She will be okay."

Luwein wiggled himself free from Tank and near what he guessed was a fireplace the warmth of it calling to him, he sat down the wood squeaking beneath him due to old age.

"You two go" Jason said, Marcus and Demitri grunt a quick response as they followed Leech. Pushing away the confusions and feelings he had about his 'parents and ...siblings, Luwein steeled himself and hoped with all his might that Ali would be okay..

Leech worked very well under the conditions she was placed, the small room where all four were was hardly anywhere near inhabitable or sanitary like the Med Ward at the Northern base, but with what limited resources they had, it would have to do for now to get Ali in a stable condition. Demitri leaned on the wooden wall as she worked silently, Marcus on the other side of the small room, he had stopped pacing and decided to collect his thoughts while the female medic worked, not only that, the space was hardly available for either of the men to take a seat, just the small cot and a aged stood for Leech to sit on while she worked. Both men stayed silent as the others waited for them outside, they were all thankful to gain some distance between them and Anomander, the mad man found them without fail every time they went in a group, now that Berserk was in their party, he easily hunted them down, but it wasn't like before. Somehow, it seemed as his powers grew more and more as he slained the victims he sought after. Demitri's heel tapped onto the wooden floor softly, but his pace remained the same as the giant closed his eyes and messaged them with his hand, feeling the stress of having his beloved wife injured once again under his watch, he slowly felt undeserving of his position as the commandant every time something like this were to arise. Especially out in the field, they were all there and ready to aid her, but they seemed to always be on a downward spiral every time they fought this man. He was like nothing Demitri has ever encountered before, Sybille was at least dedicated enough to plan out his attacks, even during times of weakness, but this man....he was no holds bar ready at an instant. Demitri opened his eyes once more, the light still dim as he looked over at Marcus, the mystic never took his eyes off of Ali as she turned slightly, wincing at pain from the dagger wound Leech was trying to patch up. The giant could tell that he was truly worried about Ali, there was no hiding his feelings for her from anyone, not even to himself. The once poised master of magic from years ago would have had better guards up to show the team he was capable of handling situations like this, but now he was scarred by Anomanders own attack on his body. Demitri raised an eyebrow as he contemplated the new feelings he was getting from his team mate...was he actually scared of this man? It seemed unlikely, but recently...things have changed. Demitri pushed himself from the wall as he cracked his neck, feeling the muscles loosen and the bones crack, the giant reached for his pistol to check the ammo, still a full clip loaded into his favorite weapon, the commandant holstered his gun before edging his way to the mystic, looking dow at his team mate, Marcus didn't seem to care as he stared down at Ali.

"We need to speak" Demitri whispered, trying to be silent so Leech could concentrate in peace. Marcus finally blinked his eyes, feeling the burn of dryness from his long gaze, finally Marcus looked up at the commandant, meeting the mans hazel eyes before speaking.

"Something on your mind sir?"

"We know this man is after Berserk, but for all our purposes, we could care less of what happens to him after the fights we've had and what he's done to Dante, past and present." Marcus nodded, both men shot their heads towards Ali as she yelped slightly, it was almost a whisper, but both men could hear it if they were across the base, so they thought to themselves.

"Indeed, but our role is to be his protectors for now. Keep him under control and safe....for now, at least until we dispose of Anomander"

"Right, but I wasn't finished..." Marcus raised an eyebrow as he looked back towards Demtiri, noticing that the giant was staring directly at him now.

"What is it then" Short and to the point, but Demitri was on high alert.

"He's also after you as well..." Marcus was a bit surprised that the giant had figured it out, Marcus was attacked numerous times, and somehow the giant commandant had figured that he too, was on his chopping black. "I don't know how you're involved in all of this, but he did mention Exodus as well, and you know as well as I do, that was her father. Things are slowly adding up, but now we're getting deeper and deeper involved in this mans path of getting whatever he wants. Are you sure there's nothing you can remember about the other people and why they're important to him" Marcus had contemplated the same thought over and over when he was alone meditating, but nothing came to him. It was odd, it seemed like a random hit man job, that was until his own personal red flag shot to the sky when Phoenix was murdered in her own base, not to mention a outcast of a soldier was brought back in for protection. But Anomander didn't have anything to do with Exodus' death, that was years ago when Ali was still little, the connection seemed unlikely that he even knew the man. But with events as they were, things only added up when more deaths came to their plate, and both men feared that Ali might be caught on one of the platters.

"I am sorry Commandant, but nothing comes to mind" Marcus sighed, Demitri only nodded, reaching with is hand to scratch the back of his neck, he grunted at the relaxing feeling, looking over back at Ali, he remembered when she would message the man's muscles after a long day at work or just for her personal "fun". It broke Demitri's heart little by little, knowing she knows nothing of the time they've spent together, but some people did jog her memory slightly, like their children apparently, Demitri turned away from the mystic and left the room, entering the small office sized waiting area where the rest of the team sat and regained their strength. Pocket looked up at her superior and gave a light smile, the giant returning the affection as he leaned against the doorway, making sure it was well guarded and secured, especially from Berserk. Demitri noticed his son, Tank, sitting on the opposite side of where Berserk rested, way on the other side of the small area, not making eye contact with the savage man. Luwein stared outside the small window, Demitri couldn't tell if the young boy was scouting for anything evil out in the woods, or just having time to himself to contemplate things, he was having a rough time on his own with the recent passing of his uncle. Demitri felt shameful they haven't had the funeral procession yet for the late Commander Mist, but for now, it would have to wait until they returned back to base. Berserk snorted loudly, Demitri only moving his eyes towards the mans direction as he stood ans stretched himself.

"So, hows the foxy lady? Heh, not so tough now after barking like shes top dog." Demitri grunted himself as he turned to face the man.

"She is top dog, at least you you Felix" Marcus gave a cocky grin, licking his lips as the moisture sank into his flesh.

"She wishes, in my day, I was top dog and no one could harm me. Maybe I could teach her a few "pointer": The man scoffed wickedly, everyone giving him dirty looks, his comments were out of line and down right nasty, talking about their friend and family member in such a manner. Demitri knew he had to keep his composure, even if it meant holding back all his strength so he wouldn't pummel the man to death right here and now. The giant stepped outside to catch a breath of fresh air, he needed to cool off, unknowing to him, Luwein followed close behind the giant, closing the door behind himself, he noticed the boy standing right next to the man, holding onto the loose end of his shirt like a child would if it wanted attention from its parents. Demitri looked down confused a little by the sudden appearance of the boy, but passed it off when he looked out into the wilderness they were surrounded in. The soft noises whistling in the wind, the chirps and chiters of the insects echoed as the mist floated throughout the air, the thick moisture blocking the view in the distance. To anyone else in their situation, they would probably love the scenery and atmosphere, but to Demitri, he was frightful of anything coming at them at random. The commandant remained on high alert as he looked around, focusing his powers to create a wind barrier around their small holding house, not enough to defend, but enough to alert the man if something passed through without warning.

"Shouldn't you make it stronger?" Luwein spoke, breaking the silence as the giant looked down at the boy, puzzled by his comment. "Your barrier, I can feel the wind constantly swirling every so slightly around us, but shouldn't it be stronger?...eh, sir?"

"Its just a precaution measure for now, there's another barrier beyond the one you see. Slightly stronger, but to hold that one I need to be focuses. I'm amazed you sensed it so quickly Luwein, your heightened abilities are remarkable ya know" Demitri smiled before leaning on the entrance door, his eyes glowed white as he continued to add on more power to the barriers as suggested.

"It suits me fine..." The boy spoke short, still a lot on his mind, Demitri could understand his feelings, there was still a lot floating around in his own head. Mainly, the words the Anomander spoke before vanishing:

"I will break you, one by one, taking what you most hold dear to you; allowing you to watch as it slips beyond your reach...."

Demitri continued to concentrate his powers, but the phrase echoed over and over in his head, he felt like this was a warning sign that should be taken too likely. The giant knows of hows it feels to be used by someone else, the month of therapy he had to go through just to be on the safe side that Sybille's powers left no trace of ever coming back to harm the giant and the ones he loved. He was truly fearful of this new enemy, pondering if he could do the same damage that caused all of the problem between Ali and Marcus...and himself. Demitri clenched his fists tighter as he looked around, scouting for any signs of trouble that was in view of the groups holding position.

Marcus hadn't bothered keeping his feelings to himself, the weight on his shoulders was growing heavier by the minutes now. He had tried his best to relieve the stress with speaking to Berserk like that, knowing he had to do something, the behemoth was getting on his nerves constantly now. He would prefer to just bury him in pain and let him be die in his own blood, but the option wasn't his right now, especially with their orders being to protect the retired operative. He stayed against the wall then, his arms crossed and his mind gone again, he didn't let his thoughts linger on anything for very long. Every thought that he seemed to be was another dead face pointing at him, accusing him of failing them, he saw all of them gathering before him. Each one showing the wounds of their death, Fiddler was riddled with bolts, Yan still had the daggers sticking out of her body, Yedan had his sword stuck through him. He could see Mists face now, seeing the scene in his head that he had read on paper so many times, he stood before him with a hole in his chest.

'What makes you so special? Why do you get to live, while we die? Why are you worth saving? You lead us to this.' Marcus tried to banish the thoughts, make the ghost flee his mind, but all he succeeded in doing was bringing more of them to life. He pulled away then, their presence becoming too much as he ripped his mind form his body and took it to the shadow realm. The solitude of the dark world was broken by the whispers, the voices speaking to him now in their hard tones.

'You should have died Mystic.'

'He should of cut your throat.'

'I hope he finds you, for what you did!' Marcus gripped his head then, his eyes shifting between the different faces. Seeing their wounds, the rips and tears into their flesh, the very instruments used to kill them.

"What do any of you know?! I did everything I could for you!" He roared at them now, the madness of the situation threatened his very mental state. His memories coming to life more powerful then before, they didn't just play on the world, they became real. He could see the bodies, the blood, the entrails of everyone he knew, he could see them all dead now, him standing alone in a field of bodies. His eyes looking over the field and seeing the twisted faces and broken bodies of the team he knew as his family. Pocket lay near by, her chest ripped open, her ribs exposed to the world as the wound showed the forced use to rip her open. Jason was split in half at the waist, his intestines hanging out as his top half was reaching out for something, the dead look in his eyes revealing nothing of his last thoughts. His lower half was nowhere to be seen, Marcus eyes seeing more people, Jeff pinned to the ground with blades, his head bashed into a bloody mess, Sasa skewered through with several different weapons, blood still leaked from where her eyes use to be. He saw limbs scattered about, blood covered everything, he saw Demetri then, his body twisted as he saw that half the mans face gone, his brain matter splattered about, his torso torn into by clawed hands. Marcus almost vomited, until her heard a soft sound, turning to see what it was he saw her then, on her hands and knees the wound in her chest seeped blood. She was weeping now, she was in between two bodies, was was the remains of Demetri he had seen, the other was the cold, lifeless body of a tattooed figure. His right forearm removed, his head barely hanging on to where his neck and been chopped into, her face looked up, then bruises showed.

'You killed them all, you killed them all!" She screamed at him, Marcus didn't understand, not until he looked down, his hands black and clawed, wisps of white hair floating into his vision. The horror dug deep then, his hands were covered in blood, his body drenched in the life materiel of every person he valued. His screams echoed through the dark world as he gripped his head again. The scene faded instantly, Marcus on his knees now as he gripped the sides of his head tightly, the voices still whispering, the shadows taking form as the old man appeared. With a simple wave, they were gone, the faces, the whispers and the blood was all gone, Marcus eyes wide as his hands fell away, rising slowly he took the deep breath he needed.

"You can't let them get to you like that my boy." Marcus didn't turn then, trying to calm his mind.

"I couldn't get away from then if I tried."

"I know, but they are part of you now, not the other way around." Marcus closed his eyes for a moment, opening them gently as he saw her standing there. His love from another life, she stood 15 feet away from him now, she started walking towards him, her face in a warm smile as she came closer. Marcus stood fast, his arms at his sides, when she was half way to him, her face changed, her eyes becoming red in color. She stood before him then, closing the distance in only a matter of moments, he didn't move as she threw her arms around his neck and pressed her lips to his, just letting the moment take him as he closed his eyes, letting it all fall away. And just like that, she was gone, her stood their alone now, his grandfather standing at his side.

"I'm afraid, grandfather." Shadowthrone laid a hand on his shoulder, Marcus accepting the warm gesture.

"I know my boy, I know. A lot was asked of you when you went after Anomander." Marcus could only shake his head then.

"I don't remember any of it, I remember his face, and his name, that's it."

"No one else did, anyone else who was already there recognized his face. But, only you knew his name, and his face. You have to try to understand what that means." Marcus needed time now, his thoughts calming down enough as the ghosts didn't return. He closed his eyes then, feeling his mind return to the shell left behind. His body moving again as he loosened the muscles, feeling how his body had clenched with his leave. He pushed off form the wall then and walked outside, seeing Demetri standing there he stood by his side then, staring off into the darkness with the giant.

"What was that about Patch?" Marcus looked up at him now, looking away again as he spoke.

"I believe Patch is trying to make his move on Ali. I walked in on it in the med ward." Demetri nodded his head to him then.

"I understand where you are coming from, but still. He is one of the best healers we have, only makes sense we bring him here." Marcus crossed his arms then, feeling the bare spot where a bandanna use to rest.

"I saw something in him, something that makes me uncomfortable. I want him away from her for now, oblige me Commandant." Demetri sighed then, nodding at him.

"Alright, he will be under close watch, I can't take any further action." Marcus bowed his head to him.

"That's All that I ask. We should get i contact with the HDF, we found who we were looking for."

"We will leave as soon as Ali is alright." Marcus didn't say anything then, simply walking away back into the house, re-securing his place against the wall as he watched Leech work. He felt his fear still hanging around, still trying to claw its way free. He kept it suppressed, kept his eyes on Ali, trying to keep the scene at bay. Edited by Nergil Pendelton

"Alex...Alex...ALEX!"
She jumped, her head spinning as the voice bellowed her name, sitting up she looked over her shoulder and frowned.
"Where the hell am I?"
The man smiled at her, his white teeth gleaming under the black hood he wore as he strode towards her and knelt down putting his hand on the top of her head.
"Glad to see your memory stunt didn't harm your ability to come to me. I'm thankful for that."
She shook her head, his hand lifting and a chuckle coming from his chest.
"I forgot how much you hated that."
She let out a growl as she felt the pressure build with in her chest, coiling and rolling about through her body; begging to be released. The man held up his hands.
"Whoa, easy my dear. I meant no harm, but I did come to warn you Ali."
She frowned as she stood.
"Who are you?"
He smiled again, the white teeth and olive skin of his face the only things she could see.
"I am a stranger to you now, but I am no less a friend."
"What did you mean you came to warn me?"
"This new power you have developed, it is alot to handle, people have lost them selves to it, your great grandfather did."
Ali stood up quickly, her hair fanning around her as she spun around to face him as he walked a circle around her.
"My great grandfather?!"
"Calm your self Alex, the danger in your power, is your emotions. If you let them get out of control, your power becomes unstable and any one person touching you during that time is in harms way."
Ali put a hand over her mouth, the back ground flooding with images of the Commandant, Commander and her brother.
"I know that you do not want anything to happen to them."
She nodded slowly, her blood feeling as if it had turned to ice.
"I-I really don't..."
The background stopped on an image of Demetri, looking down at her with a soft smile gracing his handsome face, the man let out a whistle.
"So this is him huh? This is the man who has gained the fancy of your heart?"
She blushed, and seemed to blush more as the image fasded to one of Marcus, his smile glowing in her direction making her stomach twist pleasantly at the sight of it, the same feeling she had at seeing Demetri's smile as well. She shook her head to clear the thoughts of the two men from her mind only to have them come back even stronger than before. She looked up at the man, frowning deeply.
"Why can't I get these two out of my head? I just met the both of them."
"They are noble men my dear. Solid soldiers and loyal to friends, loved ones, and family. They would not hesitate to lay down thier lives for you in an instant."
"Why? I'm nothing special."
"Oh but you are my little dove. You are."
The nick name made her eyes widen, but before she could ask, the world around her began to shift, he looked around and growled.
"No, I'm not done! Alex! You must listen to me carefully! You have become what others call Confessors, you must keep this to your self, people fear them more than any other one of us! You must not let it take control of you dove! You can not allow it to!"
She reached out for him and felt a sharp pain in her chest, the sharpness of it making her wince, her body shiver and her hand tighten around the appendage in her grasp.
"Ali?"
She groaned and cracked open her eyes, the worried, tattooed face staring down at her shocking her for a moment before she put her hand on his face and shoved him back.
"Your crowding me Commander."
He chuckled lightly, clearly happy that she was alright, he let her hand go for a moment before stepping out of the small room, she heard his voice and heavy foot steps follow.
"She's alright."
Demetri's face came into veiw, his large hand wrapping around her's and feeling her pulse.
"She's stable. We should get out of here while we have the chance."
Marcus nodded as Demetri flipped his phone open and called Cloak, once done he looked over at Leech.
"I'm afraid we're going to have to ask you to come with us. We've been looking for you."
She nodded sadly.
"I know, and I also know it's no good. But I will accompany you regaurdless."
They didn't have time to question what she meant as the dark clouds of Cloak surrounded them, what met them at the base was, to say the least, surprising. Ali held her hands up, wincing at the pain in her chest as rifles were pointed at her making her back up til her shoulders hit the wall behind them. Marcus' and Demetri's voices echoing through the noise.
"What the hell is going on here!"
"Drop your god damn weapons! This is an order from the Commandant!"
One of the men looked over at him frowning.
"This is an order from up higher than you you Sir. The high council has ordered us to seize Captian Alex Talon."
Marcus shoved through them to stand next to the giant.
"Under what grounds?!"
"Murder."
Both men felt their stomachs drop as they thought of the soldier she had killed in the village. Eli... The thought of what she had done to him, what had made him do still made the men want to vomit, shiver and possibly vomit some more. But they both agreed in some dark part of their minds he had deserved the punishment she had given him. Demetri took a step forward, seeing the hidden fear in her eyes as she looked at the two men.
"She is under my jurisdiction, it is my job to punish her as I see fit. Now, I would like to speak to my father about this."
The soldier shook his head.
"Sorry Sir, Sheild and DreamCatcher have been sent on a peace negotiation in the East. They won't be back for a few more weeks."
Demetri paled than, seeing he was backed against the wall.
"I refuse to let one of my top opteratives been taken under wrongful means like this!"
The soldier growled.
"Sir! With all due respect. She murdered a human, we were brought together to protect humans and she's murdered one, in cold blood. The high council has spoken. cuff her!"
Ali yelped as two men came forward and put the steel handcuffs around her wrists tightly Marcus' rune glowing as he heard the sound of it, Demetir's eyes slowly turning white, both men watching as she was drug off down the hall, surrounded by soldiers. She looked over her shoulder at them, her eyes glowing slightly red in her panic and fear, Marcus taking a step forward only to feel Demetir's large hand clamp on his shoulder.
"Don't we make a scene it'll make it worse for her. Let's wait it out til we know what the high council is going to do."
Marcus nodded, his runes still glowing as gusts of wind blasted through the halls as the two watched her go.
Ali gasped as she was thrown into a dark room, a cicular light in the middle, once she had stumbled into the middle of it voices echoed around her.
"Alex Talon, you are here on the charges of murder, how do you plea?"
"Not guilty! You don't know what that sick-"
A elderly female voice echoed now.
"It does not matter his actions Talon, we were set in place to protect the human race, not pass out own judgement! You murdered a man for a crime you don't even know he commited!"
"Who else could have done it?!"
"Enough! You have been tried."
"What?! What the hell kind of trial was that?! This is bull-"
"You are sentenced to a private exicution, which is to be held immediatly!"
Ali felt her stomach drop out, her skin turned to ice as it broke out in goose bumps, tears gathering in her eyes.
"No! I didn't do anything wrong! I was right in what I did!"
She felt the handle of the pistol slam into the back of her neck at the base of her skull, after that, her world was black. A shadow detatched it self from the wall and stepped forward towards the light.
"Take her to the hidden cell, below the brig. I want her on lock down, no one in, no one out. I shall handle the excicution and funeral."
The soldier nodded as he picked up the limp form of Ali.
"Yes Master Illusionist."
The old man nodded as the doors opened, his power of tricking anyones mind into seeing what he wanted them to see keeping Demetri and Marcus from seeing Ali thrown over the soldiers shoulder as he passed them. With Illusionists power all they saw was the man walking out alone. They rushed in together looking around for the woman and locking their eyes on Clyde as they found her no where. Demetri clentched his fists.
"Where is she? What have you done to her?!"
"She is in the excicution yard. Her crime was a large one my boy, to large to look over. Not only that her power has become to strong to even try to control. It is a danger to her self as well as others and can not be allowed to remain amoung us."
Marcus' eyes grew wide as the two men heard rifle shots ring through out the room.
"No...Nononononono!"
He shoved Demetri aside who only took a moment to follow as they ran through the room to look out the tinted window that over looked the excicution yard, there at the end was the lean form of a woman, brown hair and pale skinned they knew her instantly as they slowly began to break down. Illusionist behind them smirking, in truth the yard was empty, no one was down there, no body, no firing squad. But the two men saw their beloved, dead on the grass, they saw what he wanted them to see. Marcus hit his knees as he fell to the floor, tears welling up in his eyes as they already began to fall from Demetri's silently trailng down his cheeks. Illusionist sighed and put his pinched his nose.
"It is with a heavy heart that I carry out that punishment. But it was the only choice we had. I shall leave the funeral arrangments to the two of you."
They nodded, not really hearing what the old man had said, but both of them turned and grabbed onto Jason came through the door and crumpled to the floor infront of the window.
"No...no no. How could this be happening? She didn't do anything wrong!"
He began to shake, his body slowly transforming into the massive wolf shape as Marcus and Demetri tried to comfort the wolf man as well as deal with their own pain.
"ALEX!!!:
His howl echoed throughout the entire base.

Dante had dropped to his knees sobbing uncontrollably and Luwein held the boy to him trying to comfort him. This couldn't be happening they had gotten home safely and with their target.... one tragedy after another. Evey time it seem there was a small triumph or speck of hope darkness came to swallow it, Ali's death had come unmercifully and unexpected it seemed.

"This can't be happening" Luwein felt as if his heart drop, he had possibly lost a sister as soon as he gained one it all seemed unreal. That's when something stood out to him... "...unreal." "Something is off...." Before Luwein could think more about it he heard Berserk behind him chuckle.

"If you ask me she, she had it coming..." Luwein tensed up as he felt Dante shake with rage.

"Prancing around her barking out orders like shes the alpha dog... serves her right. At least she got to be put down like the dog she wa-" Before anyone could blink Berserk was on the ground bleeding and looking bewildered as well as everyone around him. Power came off of Luwein in waves as he stood over him.

"That that was the last time you disrespect her" Luwein open his palm towards Berserk and the energy that had sbeen radiating off him began to creep to Berserk like ghostly tentacles they wrapped around him rapidly ageing him.

What are you doing to me!!?" Berserk screamed in panic shock at how frail his voice sounded he was already starting to look seventy years old his skin had grown loose and he had lost his muscle mass.

"Lu.. stop you can't" Dante sniffed. "You'll be killed too!" Luwein's eyes started to glow but just as it started it stopped as Demitri squeezed his shoulders lightly sending a small electrical current through him waking him up from his rage.

"She would not want you to suffer the same..." Luwein was shaking now.

"He's dirt! I just wanted to dust him." Luwein said through clenched teeth.

"Now's not the time...." Demetri said, sounding as if he were restraining himself.

"But I assure you it will come, whether by Anomander or I." Luwein left Demitri and went back to Tank and held tightly to his shirt.

"Dad...W-what are we going to do?" Dante was saying a second away from bursting into tears again. "What is there to do after this but grieve..." Luwein thought to himself as tears rolled freely form his face

They held on to Jason as long as they could, their own bodies hardly having the will to hold him up. Marcus barely had any strength at this point, his heart was destroyed and his mind was trying to pull away as he felt his body going numb. Jason soon lost the strength as he slumped down, Pocket was there then, cradling his head as the wolf howled and wept. Marcus didn't know what to do as he slumped heavily and hit his back against the wall, hanging his head as he felt the tears rolling down his face, his arms and legs felt heavy, his mind screaming at him, her lifeless body laying on the ground. He didn't want to move, didn't want to rise ever again, everything that he had ambitions for, every plan he had ever created and laid out didn't matter anymore.

"Marcus, we need to go." He felt a hand on his arm then, he pushed it away then. The motion almost lazy as he stay sitting, he didn't care what they wanted, he didn't care about anything, he just wanted to stay there now. He barely heard the patter of feet as Neos appeared, he came running up as he wrapped his arms around the mystic, Marcus didn't even acknowledge his existence, even when he was crying and talking to him a mile a minute.

"Daddy, don't go, don't go! Please, mommy wouldn't want that!" Marcus didn't move, just sitting there still, Demetri pulling Neos away as he still cried, reaching out the mystic briefly before wrapping his arms around Demetri now, crying into his shoulder, his word muffled a she spoke.

"Don't let him go daddy!" Demetri thought he understood as he saw a look on Marcus face as the mystic lifted his head now, the back of his resting on the wall. The look he had seen before when they first met him, seeing how closed off he was, how every door that happened been opened was now just gone. His eyes almost lifeless as they showed a dull sheen now, his whole body seemed slack. He started to rise slowly, Demetri reaching out to help him, he batted the hand away as he found his footing.

"Don't touch me, just stay away from me." He said harshly, his voice sounding gravelly now as he supported himself on the wall with one hand. Demetri tried to keep his composure then, speaking sternly now.

"We need to start planning her funeral." Marcus looked at him with his dead eyes.

"You do it, I want no part of it." Demetri growled then.

"God dammit Marcus, you can't just walk away." Marcus' body tensed with his rage breaking through, his mind no longer able to control his outburst.

"Yes I can. When the high council decided they could execute her for committing a just act. When they could let that pompous fool decided that she can be killed just like that, without a proper trial, no witnesses, no evidence of past crimes!" Demetri reached forward and tried to calm him, Marcus taking a step back out of his reach.

"I said don't touch me." He turned away then, walking down the hallway then, his mind didn't function now, he just walked until he came to his room. Walking through the doorway he felt numb still, his mind blank as he just stood their in the dark now, all of his happiness, fear, joy, love and sadness were gone. He didn't care anymore, everything that he wanted was dead now, thinking back on his life now, he could see it now. His whole family, save for his mother, was dead, he had spent ten years of his life looking for vengeance against his apprentice, he had secluded himself from the world and fought it every step of the way. His mind clicked then, seeing what he needed to hold on, seeing that with this one thing he could find what he desired most and still meet his end. He wanted vengeance now, and the source had a face now, a silent smugness that mad Marcus want to rage, wanted to make his anger rise to the surface. Nothing came now, it was just cold indifference to the face, to what he wanted. That face was clear to him now, it was like he could reach out and strangle him. He was suddenly ripped from his body, the world swirling into darkness and shadow as he just stood there now, not feeling anything as the shapes formed before him, three of them, something he had never seen before.

"What do you want?" He said in a dead tone, his voice having lost any sort of inflection now, his arms hanging limply at his sides as he simply stared at the three.

"Marcus my boy, you need to come out of this. This isn't the end."

"Yes it is." He retorted immediately.

"Son, you can't let this take you. Anomander is still out there, he's still looking for you all."

"He's right there Marcus, you can't just give up, you have to keep moving forward."

"No, I don't. There is no reason to anymore." His tone still flat, he could see the pain in the eyes before him, seeing him having given up so utterly. He heard Shadowthrone screech at him then.

"Don't be an idiot! She would have never wanted this! You can't blame yourself for this!" Marcus looked directly at Ammanas then.

"I don't blame myself, I blame the council. I blame Clyde for her death." Cotillion moved forward then, standing only a foot away.

"Marcus, you can't be serious."

"I am, he'll die like she did. He'll meet his end swiftly, even if it is the end of me." Exodus spoke up then.

"You don't have a cause Marcus, this is senseless. You have nothing to support your need for revenge!" He stared off then, his memories playing now, every one of her face, the smiles and the laughter he kept in his mind. Every time they had made love and every time they would just lay there as she traced his runes on his body, the sweet smile she gave him. In his mind, his heart was dead, there were no more tears ready to shed for her passing, she had earned the right to his rage, to his unforgiving wrath.

"I have all the support I need. Stay out of my way, I'll be joining you soon enough." He pulled himself back to his body, still standing in the darkness as he looked around. He soon went and sat down on the couch, leaning back as he simply stared into the darkness, his mind only focused on one thing now, the council mans face burned into his thoughts now. Edited by Nergil Pendelton

The first thing she noticed when she opened her eyes was darkness, cold, sufficating and pressing darkness. She could barely tell if she had opened her eyes or not but as a door opened not far from her, her eyes burned with the light and she got a slight look at her surroundings. The room was small, concreat and steel enforced, no windows no bed, nothing but a room the size of a closet. She groaned as rough hands grabbed her and hauled her to her feet, her hands pulled tightly behind her back by the hand cuffs still, she could feel blood trailing down her arms as they cut into her skin. Drug from the cell and into the hall she hissed as the light burned her eyes more and tried to turn her head away only to have her arms shaken harshly.
"Open your eyes woman. They want you to see where your going."
She didn't answer or comment only blinked rapidly as her eyes tried to adjust, they were walking down stone steps, the air around her getting colder and colder the deeper they went, far under the HDF building. She was thrown into another dimly lit room where her arms were unbound, as soon as she was free she lashed out, her right leg coming around only to stop in mid air, pain erupting behind her eyes as her body began to spasm and twitch, trying to scream it died in her throat as the pain became more than she could take and she crumpled to the floor. A voice echoing in the room.
"Now, I take it that didn't feel good, did it Alex Talon. My name is Raze. I shall be your master from now on."
"Up yours! I'm no ones pet!"
She screamed again, this time the crack of a whip echoed and she could feel it tear into her skin, gashing her back over and over as she hunched on her knees.
"This is only the begining my dear. You will break, and you will listen."
"I refuse!"
Again the whip cracked and again she screamed, her scream intensifiying as the pain tore through her eyes again, she could already feel her throat growing raw form the effort of it.
"There is something I want you to do for me Talon."
She looked up panting as a door on the other side of the room opened, a young, frightened looking man stumbling through it, a blind fold over his eyes and his hands bound behind his back.
"What is the meaning of this?! What does he have to do with any of this?"
"Touch him."
She frowned not sure where this was going.
"Use that remarkable power on him. I want to see how much control you have over it."
"I won't!"
"You used it on the deserter so readily. Why not now?"
"That was different! That bastard got what he deserved!"
The whip cracked again and again, each time her screams and yelps became more broken as her throat grew more worn out, she could smell her own blood as it poured across the skin of her back, her shirt in shreds due to the damage.
"That was not your choice to make girl. Now, use your power!"
"No!"
She screamed, blood filling her throat as the tender skin inside her tracea tore and ripped, the feeling of the sharp, wicked dagger dragging it's serated edge aross her skin making her vision turn blurry. She shook her head.
"I don't care what you do to me! I won't do it!"
She choked as the whipe wrapped around her neck and tightened cutting off her air supply, she struggled against it, trying her hardest to get free trying to breath, the lack of oxygen making her panic, her eyes glowing in correspondece to her emotions. The man infront of her was shoved roughly til he came in contact with her skin, the silent thunder filled the room making it tremble as the pressure released from her body. The man went lax, his eyes now lifeless as he stared at her adoringly.
"Master?"
"Tell him to stand."
She shook her head and than bit her lip, her teeth clamping straight through the flesh as she bit down hard to keep from screaming more as the whip now began to lash out on the skin of her arms.
"S-stand..."
The man stood, smiling numbly.
"Good good, tell him to take two steps back."
She huffed on her air as she tried to slip into oblivion.
"T-take...take two steps back..."
Without warning, as the man's foot hit it's last mark the floor opened out from under him and he dropped, Ali cringed as she heard his body hit whatever was under him, the sound of blood dripping onto stone and flesh tearing told her all she needed to know...he was dead.
"Marvolous. It goes without saying you'll need more training, but any animal can be broken with the proper amount of force. Take her back to her cell."
She was pulled to her feet roughly and drug on her wounded back to her tiny, dark room. She whimpered as she was thrown to the hard floor, the wet sound of her back hitting the wall as she slid. finally alone, she let her mind leave her body, finally free of her pain she retreated to the only place her mind knew salvation. As soon as her eyes closed she found herself in the swirling world she had visited before, only this time she was alone. Sitting down she tucked her knees to her chest, thankful that here she had the use of her hands, wrapped her arms around them and sobbed uncontrolably. Looking up as a small mirror floated around her, blood caked her clothes and skin, her back was in pieces and so were her arms. Her red eyes were blood shot with tears and her lip bled profusely due to her biting through it. She kept an eye on it as it swung behind her to show her back, the lacerations were to many to count, covering her entire back in blood and gashes, looking at her hands she saw the raw cuts of the steel handcuffs.
"Someone....anyone...help me..."
She looked up as the shadows began to swirl around her, gathering infront of her in the shape of a tall, muscular man, the same man she had seen before, only this time his face was revealed and her eyes went wide.
"Dad?"
"Oh my dove...what have they done to you?"
She tucked her face into her knees and began to sob again.
"Alex...it's alright. It's alright."
He walked over to her and put his large hand on her cheek.
"Dad, am I dead?"
"No my dove. Your not dead. Just...escapeing."
"I don't know where I am."
He chuckled, sitting down next to her.
"Neither do I, but there is one, maybe he can help you?"
She looked up at him hopefully.
"The only problem, he has convinced himself he has nothing to live for."
She frowned and put her chin on her knees.
"How is that supposed to help me?"
"Convince him otherwise my dear! It will be quite simple really. All you need to do and call out to someone you wish to save you."
Ali frowned, closing her eyes, Exodus smiled as he saw Demetri flashing across her mind through the background, hoping that the one other person who could truly help her would show him self in her mind, he nearly jumped for joy as Marcus flashed before him now.
"Good, good!"
"I don't see how he is supposed to help me Dad."
She looked around as she got no answer.
"Dad?"
Still nothing, she stood holding back the scream as her back seared with pain, looking up as her thoughts began to flash around her again, the Commander's face filtering through her mind, her father's words echoing around her.
"How are you supposed to help me..."
Call out to him dear! You never know, the fool might just listen!
She looked around looking for the source of the new voice but found nothing, she reached out, trying to touch the image of the man only to slip right through it.
"Commander...Marcus. I wish you could hear me..."

Exodus looked down at Cotillion and Ammanas.
"You think it'll work?"
Cotillion shrugged.
"It depends on if she's on the same level he is when he gets here. I don't know that she will be, I can't reache her physically as you can, neither can Ammanas...which means, they might hear one another...but won't be able to see reach each other."
Exodus nodded sadly, remembering the past and her mental break down.
"It will be much like that won't it Cotillion?"
The man nodded slowly.
"I'm afraid he might not even respond, thinking this is just a trick his mind is playing on him."
Exodus looked at Ammanas.
"What are your thoughts old man?"
"He's to stupid to listen. He's to far gone is his own self indulgance of misery to listen to us. What makes you think he will listen to her call?"
"He loves my daughter to much not to."
Ammanas shook his head as he gripped his cane tight, watching as Ali stubmled and fell to her knees sobbing.
"We shall see old friend, we shall see."
Else where, in the HDF base, a small mirror began to glow on a night stand, the lonesome woman flashing within it repeatedly as she sat and rocked her bloodied form back and forth sobbing as she pleaded for slavation. Edited by Knuckles' Girl

He wasn't sure how long he sat in the darkness, his mind having wondered as he thought about what he was going to do, what his next move was. It all came to the same thing, his untimely death before he got anywhere, he knew he would be struck down before he could even get close to Clyde. After sitting here for a long while, he was slowly coming around, his heart was still numb, cold and indifferent, but he was starting to see that his rage was unjust. But, there wasn't much else he could do except see that man as his enemy now, he could see his face now as it tried to tear everything away from him. It took on an almost cartoonish feel, the old man cackling as he rubbed his hands together in a maniacal fashion. It was almost ridiculous now to him, but he couldn't stop feeling the burn deep down towards him.

"Someone will pay, someone has to pay." He said to himself, the darkness slowly fading as the sun was penetrating the windows. He wasn't sure how long he had been simply sitting on the couch, he hadn't moved once from his place. He didn't care to at this point, his mind to racked with phantom pain that radiated from his chest. He would occasionally rub it softly, simply dismissing the pain as nothing more then his own imagination. He heard a sound at the door now, someone knocking, he didn't say anything as he simply waved a hand and the door slid open. His lack of concern was seen now in his use of his powers, before he was more cautious, always worried about the corruption his power could caused if used so nonchalantly. The power had nothing to corrupt anymore, anything that he had worth taking was already gone, there was nothing left anymore he valued. The person who stepped through the door surprised Marcus a little bit, but then again, he had been seeing her more often then most people. Pocket walked through, seeming rather timid when she saw the look in Marcus eyes, how dull they were now, much life he had lost.

"Calypso, interesting to see you here." She nodded at him.

"I know, but I need to talk to someone." Marcus gestured for her to sit across from him now, she took her seat and seemed to be wringing her fingers together nervously. He hardly acknowledge the nervous look, simply waiting for her to speak. She did after a few moments, if rather hesitantly.

"First off Marcus, I just wanted you to know that I am sorry."

"For what?" She seemed to choke on the words as she tried to speak again, eventually finding her voice.

"For what the council did, to Ali." Marcus felt his heart then, an iciness piercing it now. He kept his face blank as he spoke again.

"Nothing can be done now. What is it you needed Calypso?" He said coldly, not really caring how he came off at this point. She cleared her throat again as she began.

"I wanted to talk to you.... about Jason." Marcus raised and eyebrow then, almost curious to where this was going and then losing interest.

"What about him?" He saw her fidget then, seeing the nervous twitch kicking in.

"Well, I uh, want to tell him.... about something important." He could see it now, her nervousness, but he also saw as her cheeks reddened then, blushing at her own private thoughts. He felt the ice start to melt slightly, the blushing face reminding him of the times he had seen Ali blush before. He learned forward now, trying to show interest even when he didn't feel it.

"Ah, I see. You want to tell him about, what you're feeling." She nodded then, seeing that he clearly understood what she was trying to say.

"I don't know if it is the right time, he is so distraught and I feel like it's too soon."

"Trust me on this Calypso, its never too soon. This will be the most opportune moment to tell him, he needs someone, especially since his sister is gone." She rose and walked over to sit beside Marcus, he looked at her calmly as she suddenly lunged out and wrapped her arms around his middle, hugging him tightly now.

"Thank you Marcus, I'm glad you were here to help." Marcus remained still for a few moments before he put an around her, simply putting around her as a reflex rather then a genuine show of affection. She quickly rose and skipped off happily, he saw the joy of her budding affection for the werewolf, Marcus was sure he was wallowing in his own sadness now. His heart still cold, Pocket's few moments with him had been eye opening, only enough for him to see how far he was falling, and to show how little he cared about it. He heard something then, something faint echo in his mind.

'Commander......Marcus.' He thought he knew the voice, his eyes widening slightly as he registered the words. His feelings trying to rise as he pushed them away, his mind was trying to trick him. Trying to bring him out of his downward spiral, he ignored the whispers, just as he ignored the ghosts that tried to swarm him now, the faces that haunted him now. He tried to push it all away, he rubbed his chest again, feeling the pain again, the crows glowed for just a second before fading, he never noticed. Edited by Nergil Pendelton

How much time had passed, she was really able to tell, hours? Days? Months? Within the dark cell it was impossible to tell, she cringed as the door to her cell opened again, the bright light blinding her momentarily and she growled at the figure that approached her. She was little more than an animal now, her mind digressed into a feral state that made Demetri's pale in comparison. She peeled her lips back from her teeth, her growling coming out louder as the person drew closer to her. She lunged forward as the person came within distance, her teeth snapping together as she tried to reach him, only to cough as the steel collar around her neck cut the air off from her lungs. She yelped as the man brought the whip down onto her hunched back, shaking it off she tried to reach him again, this time screaming in pain as he brought a police baton down across her shoulders.
"You will break eventually woman, why not make it easy?"
She growled more in answer and lashed out at him only to feel the pain of the baton on her shoulders again, yelping as light suddenly filled the room, the man before her felt guilt wallow in the pit of his stomach as he looked upon the once proud Commander and wife of the Commandant. She looked more like an animal than a human now, hunched over on her hands and knees, lips peeled back from her teeth in a snarl as she growled at him, blood matted her hair and clothes, her skin pale and her frame was thin, starved and malnourished. He turned away as she dropped to the floor writhing in pain as an older woman walked to stand beside him, her cane tapping on the stone floor as her voice echoed through out the room.
"So, she still has fight in her than?"
The man nodded.
"Yes Madam Pain."
The woman frowned down at Ali as the woman screamed and rolled on the floor trying to get away from the source of the pain, but unable to. Tears streamed from her eyes as she begged for the pain to stop, begged for death, anything to get her away from this place and these people. The pain lessened and she heaved her chest to breath, her ribs clearly showing through her skin now as she curled up on the floor trying to get away from the torture she was enduring. The older woman shook her head as she moved forward to place her hand on the younger woman's head only to hear her growl again.
"Poor child still things she has a chance...Her spirit needs to be broken for this to work McGavly. Make it happen. I don't care how you do it. We need her emotionless and willing to obey us."
The man nodded, his stomach turning at her words but his palms sweating at the thought of the pain the old woman represented.
"Yes Ma'am."
She nodded before walking out, her cane tapping down the hall as she left them, McGavly looked down at the woman and felt his own tears threaten to spill forth, he knew what the old woman meant, it was the only thing he hadn't done yet, trying to keep the woman's pride whole for as long as he could.
"Forgive me..."
He walked out leaving the feral woman alone for a few moments, she tried to retreat to that dark world where her pain vanished, where she could watch the faces of those two men. She didn't know who they were anymore but their smiles brought her comfort and warmth. A feeling she didn't want to lose. Just as she felt her body about to let her mind go the door opened, she looked up to see 4 men walk in. The last one shutting the door behind him, all of them wearing identical, twisted grins. Ali felt their intentions and backed against the far wall as much as she could, whines and whimpers floating from her throat as she began to shake. The largest man stepped forward and reached for her, grabbing her dull, filthy hair he lifted her up to look at her face.
"She don't look like much does she? Hard to believe who she really is. I hear they had a funeral for her the other day. Can you believe that? They think she's dead."
Chuckles came from behind him as he turned his face to look back at her.
"Your still such a pretty little thing. I can't tell you how much I've wanted to do this."
She whimpered as he grabbed her under the chin and tilted her head to the side, running his tongue across her skin, he spit in her face making her blink.
"You taste filthy. Like blood and dirt."
She whimpered as he slammed her head back against the wall, his hands now roaming where ever they pleased as the men behind him chuckled, she could feel what he was doing, feel what was about to happen but she didn't have the will to stop it. All the pain she had endured, all the regression she had gone through had all been for nothing as she retreated into her own mind, feeling her body go numb. She didn't go to that comforting world this time, she didn't get an escape as she heard him moan above her.
"Your are so sweet. No wonder those two chumps fought over you. I think I would to if I could have this day in and day out."
His hot breath washed over her face as she just stood there, hours passed and the older woman was led back in by McGlavy, he took one look at the woman on the floor, she was naked, bruised, raped and worst of all...broken. She looked up at the pair of them, the older woman bending down to put her hand on Ali's head and nodded sadly as she flinched from the touch.
"Good, you know who your master is now don't you dear?"
She nodded numbly as tears slipped from the corners of her eyes.
"Clean her off, get her dressed. We have work to do."
McGalvy nodded and did as he was told, he washed her, scrubbing the dirt and blood from her skin and hair, dressing her in black, leather boots, slack leather pants, a black leather tank top and trench coat made her look fearsome as he led her out of her cell. The steel collar still in place as she walked behind him, her hands squeaking as she balled them into fists around he leather gloves she wore. They reached the lower council room, the dark room the same as the one topside, the bright light shining in the middle, she stepped into it with no hesitation.
"Confessor, are you willing to cooperate with us? Be our weapon against our enemies?"
She nodded once, the council room erupting into whispers of excitement.
"Than your first target is an enemy with in our own ranks. The man standing behind you, McGalvy. He has thoughts of turning us in, rescuing you. Wipe him away Confessor."
She turned on him quickly, her speed almost inhuman, reaching out her eyes flashed bright red as she closed her hand around his throat and released his power. The room vibrated with the silent thunder of her power, the pressure releasing and sending a silent shock wave through the room making the excited whispers die away as they watched the man in her grasp go lax.
"Master?"
The voice chuckled.
"Very good! Now, kill him."
She caught the small throwing knife as it was thrown at her, spinning it around she handed it to him.
"Slit your throat, and apologize to my masters as you do it."
He nodded once, taking the blade in his hand he pressed it to the tender skin of his throat.
"Masters of my Master...forgive me."
He pulled the blade back hard, the gash going deep enough, clean enough to see his spine through the blood and torn flesh. Applause erupted all around her, she merely stood stoic and unmoving.
"Very well done Confessor! That is all for tonight, you may go back to your room and rest."
She nodded and was led away from the dark room and to another, it was larger than her small cell, with a cot for her to sleep on and a place to fold her clothes to keep them out of the dirt. The door closed behind her leaving her in the dark again as she lay on the cot, fully dressed and curling into the fetal position. She allowed the silent tears to fall from her eyes as she stared at the far wall mindlessly. She knew she was broken, broken and unwanted for no one had come to find her. She didn't bother trying to reach that other realm now, there was nothing for her there, the faces she saw so often meaning nothing to her. The comfort of their smiles were lost on her battered mind and soul. She was nothing but a weapon...a means for destruction.

"...then you tie this one like this right?...hmm and....Oh.. There we go, all done" Luwein heard Neos giggle with glee as he put the crown of wild flowers on his head.

"And you can put this one on Sly" the animated toy squeaked as Neos held him up to be adorn with a reef of flowers.

"Lulu, is so much better at making these now" Neos said delighted as he put Sly back down and giggled as he fussed with the flowers around him.

"Well I have your sister to thank for that" Luwein smiled. Lately he had been spending much more time with Ali's children especially Neos, since Markus didn't come around to train him often if at all these days. The regularly scheduled time for Neos' training was now vacant and Luwein had volunteered to watch him. It was the only thing keeping him functional.

"Do you want to go swinging again today?!"

"If that is what you want, Neos I do" Luwein said and got up and dusted himself off as Neos took his hand and led him to the swings which were in a sand box. Luwein hated sand... for one walking on it messed with his balance and two he could not "feel" his surroundings, sand was just too unstable and loose to read vibrations through his feet. He inwardly sighed he did not particularly like swinging ether and constant motion made him feel a bit sick... hopefully Neos would want to be pushed.

"Okay," Neos said suddenly stopping, Luwein had to hold on to the boys shoulder's to catch his balance. "You can go first this time"

Luwein cursed in his head, "Are you sure you don't want to?" Luwein heard the flowers shake vigorously on the boy's head indicating he was nodding with enthusiasm.
"Okay, then First I shall be" Luwein got in the swing and waited for Neos to push him.

"Just... not too high, okay Neos?"

"HI DADDY!" Luwein did not even sense Demetri coming, 'damn sand'... he would have smelled him if it weren't for this flowers.

"Hi Daddy's little man, Who's your little friend there? Is that your girlfriend..." Luwein tensed up, he always gets mistaking as a girl but even more so when he was younger. "And where's Luwein, I thought he was with you."

"Hahaha, No Daddy! That' Lulu!"

"Well It's time for Dinner Neos" Demetri said scoping him up, he walked over to Luwein. "Hi missy, where's your parents?"

Luwein pulled his hair back and lifted his head up, "It's Me Commandant" Luwein smiled as he heard Demetri gasp.

"Lulu... Luwein....!? H-how You... You look like- I mean you're a toddler !"

"...well yes... Neos wanted to push me in the swing and I would not fit at my adult size so I... adjusted myself" Luwein gave A toothy grin.

"I didn't know you could do that." Demetri shook off his surprise. "Well come on in, Dante and Lily made dinner."

"I don't want to intrude."

Demetri sighed it was hard speaking to Luwein like this he was a adorable kid and just hearing his monotone voice come from that little body threw him off.
"You're family too, and right now... we really need to stick together."

Luwein smiled in spite of himself, those words meant a lot. "Okay, if you say so Commandant"

"Demetri.." Luwein grinned again and jumped on Demetri's shoulders.

"Uhh... okay then." Demetri said and carried the young boys into the building. For a moment things were okay until...

"Daddy when is mommy coming back?" Luwein felt his heart stop .... No one had told Neos what happen, every time he asked about his mother the subject was changed or someone did something to distract the boy but this caught both him and Demetri off...

The following weeks took a toll on the commandant, he was vicious in his onslaught to find answers to Ali's supposed execution, it was maddening as the giant fought and fought more with inquiries and personal visits to each of his commanding officers in person for a more "formal" questioning. Countless hours and nights spent trying to get answers and a decent enough excuse to why his wife was murdered in cold blood, it didn't add up to the fact she did something that wouldn't even call for an execution, even by the high counselors themselves. When High Counsiler Sheild came back and discovered the news, he was more than speechless to find out they had acted apon an action without his permission or knowing. but the high cousil kept quiet about the whole procession, even on the whereabouts of one of their own members who suddenly took a leave of absence, so Shield was told. It didn't matter, the day of Ali's funeral, it rained hard as the dark and grey clouds hovered over the lands for days on end, Demitri held onto Neos and sat next to his children while they watched the procession take place, Tank held onto Lilys hand as the child cried, hugging onto his uniform as the larger teen wrapped his arm around his sisters body. He too shed tears, but kept silent as he listened to soldier after soldier give kind ulogies to their departed commander, they were kind even if they were thought of last minute. Still, Demitri was thankful that they came and presented themselves in such a professional mannor, High Counsiler Shieild also spoke on Ali's behalf, it was a rare event to have one of them come out to a funeral procession, but everyone was calm and collective, tears shed as memories of the spunky yet rebellious member of Alpha Team Elite. Both Sasa and Gene sat next to one another in the front row with teh rest of their team, Gene placing his hand over Sasa's shoulder as she leaned her body into his embrace, holding a hankercheif to her nose as she weapt. Jason remained in werewolf form as he lauid on the ground, like a dog would, front paws crossed together as he lauid his head down in the space between, whimpers and cries emminated from his muzzel as he closed his eyes during the whole procession. Pocket sat in the chair at the end of the row, right next to Jeff and Commander Cloak, leaning down, she scratched his furry soaked head from time to time, looking down with a frown as she too cried ffor her closest friend. The werewolf continued to whimper as his fur soaked in the heavy rain, Demitri closed his eyes and thought back to all the memories they both shared with one another. Their first meeting, the scars hes collected during their countless missions with the rest of the team before they became Alpha Elites, the whole encounter with Sybille and meeting their new friends and family during those rough times. The newborn child that rested in his arms, silently sleeping through all of the speeches and thunder that struck in the air. All the giant could think about was her embrace, her smile, even when she was scolding the giant, he still missed it. Her scent, the way her hair moved with the flow of her body, everything reminded the man of his wife. Looking around with watery eyes, Demitri noticed one member of their team wasn't present in the meeting, one man that should have been in the front row like the rest of them. Demtiri growled as everyone stood from their spot as her coffin was lowered into the earth below, it was finally done. The tears flowed quickly now as Demitri closed his eyes, letting them fall down to his chin as they dropped onto the wet ground below. Slowly, the crows of soldiers left the scene, Demitri entered his living quarters once again with his children, Luwein close behind as he held onto Tank's free arm, no one said a word as Demitri handed Neos over to the teenager, he got the hint to lay him down for his rest while his father began to cook dinner. Ali had taken the responsibility to watch over Luwein after Mist died, so now the commandant was going to continue with her promise, making his larger, two person bedroom Luweins while the Commandant slept in the livingroom. It was a large adjustment, Luwein was certainly uncomfortable with the change, a large room like the commandant had would make it a challenge to get use to knowing where each item was. But the child didn't bother to argue with Demitri, at least not after what they just went through. Dinner that evening was silent, no one said a word besides Neos, going about his business eating his food that was served by his father. Demitri continued to read over the files, holding onto Neos food in his spoon in the air mere inches away from his mouth, the toddler tried to reach it but could not get to his meal.

"Daddy...I can't reach!" He struggled to bite down onto his food, but still couldn't reach as his fathers arm that hel the food, slowly the child began to whine.m "Daddy.." The toddler placed his hands on the plastic table tray of his chair, suddenly, a bright light began to engulf the the whole chair, small sparks of light flashed as the boys eyes widened in fear as the light engulfed the whole cair and table now. "Daddy?" Neos whispered, Demitri looked over and stood quickly, grabbing his child from the chair, the light now absorbing the whole kitchen table, Tank quickly picked up Lily and Luwein by their shirt collars as he went to his fathers side. Both men looked as they saw all the table set and silverwear light up, suddenly the silver pieces explosed bit by bit

"Get Down!!!" Demitri shouted, both men holding the children ran and dove behind the couch in the living room, there was a bright flash that filled the room before a large explosion erupted inside the kitchen, everyone hugged together as it rumbled the suite, knocking back pictures and pillows in the living room. The rumble stopped moments later as Demitri and Tank looked above the couch, a smoldering pile of dirt laid where the table once was. Lily just dashed to her room as slammed the door ****, Dante sighed as he helped Luwein into Demitri's room for the night. Demitri held onto his child, the toddler crying slightly as he held onto his fathers shirt.

"I wanna see mommy" He cried, Demitri frowned as he simple patted Neos' back softly, taking his child into his own room.

"She...she's not here right now Neos." Demitri whispered.

"Will she be back soon?" Demitri said nothing as he laid his child down onto the mattress, Neos continued to look at his father, his sad expression clearly visible as the child only hugged his stuffed fox and closed his eyes. Unable to get any kind of emotional connection from his father as the man left the room, Sly coming to life in animal form as he curled up next to his owner. Demitri stormed down the hall in a quick pace. He looked everywhere, his office, the med ward, the courtyard, everywhere for a single person he had to find immediately. Finally coming into the training room, he peered at his target, rage in the commandants eyes as he strode over to Commander Demos. The mystic simply stood at the center of the training room, thinking to himself, hearing heavy footsteps, the man turned to see the commandant, but only breifly as he felt a strong blow to his face. The mystic backed up a couple of steps as he felt the pain radiate through his body, opening his eyes he looked up at the commandant once again, ready to fight.

"You were suppose to be at the funeral, I would have expected you, out of everyone to be front row" Demitri growled as he charged his wind and electrical powers. the mystic said nothing as he charged his runes and sprang to action. Outside of the training room, yelling and loud explosions could be hard as the halls rumbled.

Demitri remained in his office for the majority of his working hours now that the past couple of weeks has been fairly steady, but the man still felt uneasy with the choice the high counsilors made oh his wifes life, and his father agrees with the worry, he too was still investigating on his end as much as he could. New of Anomander were now but a dream, no sighting or reported problems with other HDF members as far as they now, but Captain Jason Talon and some members of Alpha Elite, such as Freeze and Sasa still scouted around possible sights where he might be reported. Marcus and Demitri haven't seen much of one another since the fight they had in teh training room, which to this day, was being repaired and out of use to the other members and recurits. The commander really stayed silent, just like Jeff most of the time now these days, the following weeks seemed to be rougher on him than the commandant, but Demitri was in no position to mourn when he had a whole base to run, he usually spent the night on the couch weaping silently while his children and Luwein slept in their own rooms. That evening, dinner was made as everyone sat at the table, Dante making another delicious meal, this time, it was more lively than it was a couple weeks ago. Lily invited the boy she liked over for dinner, a small "date" as Demitri would call it. The boy almost looked decent enough, he was the child of Sergent Nathaniel, the well known martial artist with Gamma Squad. Demitri checked his records, so far seems like a nice boy, the ability to walk through solid objects wa a little troublesome to the commandant, but he worried less about that when the boy sowed his excellent dinner table manners After dinner, Lily stayed with the boy Daniel and Tank as they watched television. Luwein helped the commandant with the dishes as Neos played with the now animated Sly all over the house. There was a knock on the door before it opened slowly, Jason walking in as Neos smiled, rushing over to hug his uncle, Jason scopped up the child as he made his way over to the commandant, smiling as he held his nefew.

"Jason, this is a surprise, how are things with the search?" Demitri dried his hands before shaking the werewolfs large hand, he had gotten muscular and more defined during the past couple of months, even more so after the news of Ali's death. The wolf man sat down with his nefew and spoke lightly.

"Just fine...I came home alittle early before reporting in. I just..needed to come home." The man scowled as the though, he really missed his sister, he now knows what she went through after thinking he was dead, the pain and feeling of being alone. She was a stronger woman than he gave her credit for, but his only ties to family gone now to him, eveyone besides Neos and Demitri, and their family.

"No, I understand Jason, I'll overview the report in the morning. Have you heard from Demos lately?" Demitri asked, a little upset at himself for the onslaught he dealt in the training room, but he was emotional and and hurt at the time.

"No, not really. Anyways I passed by the place where they executed my sister" Neos looked up at Jason, questioning his comment. "I mean....where your mother took a nap before leaving for her mission" Neos smiled, both men sighed at the quick save before Jason continued. "It's weird, usually I can still smell the scent of a dead person long after their gone, wolf nose and everything. But with the spot we all saw her died in...nothing..." Demitri raised an eyebrow as Neos ran off to the livingroom.

"What do you mean?" Demitri asked, Luwein slowly felt his way towards the living room and sat down on his own chair as he listened to the television show that was playing.

"Come, I'll show you, maybe you can understand" Jason and Demitri both left the living quarters and made their way to the courtyard where Ali had been shot, Jason transformed into wolf form and sniffed around slightly, Demitri's eeys glowed bright white as he scanned the area, he was right...something was missing from this spot where his wife was shot. A trace of something, but Demitri could only smell gravel and earth....no scent of Orange, even a faint trace. Jason finally made eye contact with Demitri and stood tall. "See what I mean?" Demitri nodded as he piched the bridge of his nose and nodded.

"But that doesn't make any sense.." Demitri sighed as he scanned the area more shifting the wind to catch anything out of the ordinatry, using his electrical currents to scan the ground for a trace of blood pattern, but nothing came to the giant. The commandant grew confident as he and Jason both found nothing of Ali's bodily remains, or liquid traces.

"What does this mean Commandant?" The giant's eyes turned back to their hazel shade as he looked over to the werewolf.

"I don't know, but keep this on the hush-hush for now. With the high counsil acting the way they are, I don't want to sound any alarms within the base. Can you do that Talon?" Jason merely nodded as he growled in anger, something fishy was going on and he wanted to know what.

The day of the funeral had been one of the hardest, the planning had taken weeks, the arrangements had been challenging as everything around the base tried to keep moving forward with their lives. Marcus was one of the only people who had stopped moving forward, he had done nothing with himself when it came to her funeral, he had stayed away from the team since then, seeing the occasional visit but never actively looking for anyone. Most of his movements were concealed, going from place to place with minimal contact, touching only what he needed and not caring for anyone he pushed into. Fortunately, he hardly saw another soul since he spent most of his time in his room, or Alis old room, no one dared try to move in to the quarters. It had become a routine at this point, go from one room to the next regularly. The funeral, however, had been enough to pull him out of his own self propelled misery, he had been the last one to arrive then, the rain cold on his flesh but it hardly mattered anymore, he was cold long before the rain. Standing as far back as he could manage, he stayed hidden from the rest of the eyes who simply stared at the casket, his eyes shifting to the people around. He could see the hulking form of Jason in his wolf form, laying on the ground and pocket did her best to comfort him.

Seeing people he knew he didn't care as much as expected, he saw Gene and Sasa closer to the front, a little more difficult to make out but able to see that they were getting rather cozy with one another. He recalled the discussion he had with Pocket a month and half ago, he expected that had gone well enough, unable to feel hope for her as his own was dead and cold now. He listened intently to the eulogies, taking in the ones that were whole-hearted and then ones that were made last minute, hearing every stutter and every cry from the people. He held in his hand a simple piece of paper now, words written into the small scrap of all of his thoughts, all of the things that were swirling into him now that he was unable to express. The barrier and walls were fortified now, all of them only having a single crack so the feelings and emotions could only trickle out in sporadic moments that were almost crippling to him now. He held that paper firmly, wanting nothing more then to walk out there, stand on that podium and tell everyone what he was doing, let them all know how is suffering only grew daily.

The need passed quickly then, seeing her casket lower into the ground, he saw the opportunity gone, ready to let the paper go. Holding out his hand he opened it wide, letting the wind carry it off as he turned away then. Walking away from it all as he made his way back into the compound, away from the people as quickly as possible he made his way into the training room then. Feeling the need to be somewhere other then his normal routine, all he did was stand there for a time, not sure how much time had passed, he was only vaguely aware when Demetri came in. His words muffled in his mind until he felt the hit, his body reacting out of reflex then, the runes glowing to protect his body when his mind no longer cared. The fight had been violent, from what he recalled, the room had been destroyed in the process, he remembered walking away from that fight barely alive and still his heart did not care. Now, he walked the halls of the HDF, heading to Ali's old room, taking detours here and there to extend his trip before he settled in again. He hardly saw anyone these days, people didn't venture out as far as he did for his absurd route now. His mind tried to wander, finding nothing to wander do that was interesting enough for him to worry about.

His eyes, however, suddenly caught the sight of someone he hadn't seen before. Her hair was snow white, the look making his heart thump until he saw the brownish black tips, he relaxed a bit until he actually started to look the woman over more. He eyes were a deep red, almost blood red that shined dully in the light, her entire outfit consisted of black leather, he could hear her creak as she walked toward him now. He felt confused looking at her, her pale skin and her thin frame made him unsure about her, but the way she walked and moved made him think about someone he knew. Ali had walked the same way, the way her hips swayed ever so lightly brought that thought to his mind repeatedly as he tried to push it away. He kept walking until she was on his right, looking at her face closer now his eyes widened as he felt his heart thump to life now, feeling a sensation in his body as he saw the distinct marking son her face, looking like tear drops rolling down her face. He felt his chest burn again as he watched her walk away, his face showing the obvious shock as his mouth gaped open now.

"Ali?" He said to himself, seeing the woman disappear he went after her quickly, only to find she had disappeared from his sight, his chest still burning as he rubbed it gingerly now. His mind being flung into a whirlwind now, he felt like his footing was unsure as if the ground was trembling below him and about to open up and would finding himself falling into a dark abyss. He walked to his room then, forgetting all about his routine as his heart beat rapidly now, his mind racing now as he could feel everything trying to smash the barriers, he could almost hear the walls crumbling now as his body shook. He found himself running soon enough, not sure when he picked up his pace, his breathing heavy as he punched in his code to his room and entered before falling to the floor as he was looking around, breathing rapidly. He pulled his mind away then, needing answers as he felt his whole body coming to life again, the coldness leaving his body now and the grief hitting him like a hammer as he came into the shadow realm. Screaming as he felt his heart beating in his chest hard, he was on the ground in the swirling shadow as he gripped his chest now, groaning with the pain as he felt his powers course through his veins again. His cold behavior, his lack of caring and emotional break, had stunted his powers, had made him weaker then before. With everything coming back, his powers flooded him again.

"By all the gods this hurts!" He yelled as Shadowthrone and Exodus appeared, Shadowthrone poking him with the cane.

"Is he still alive, I know he is squirming, but could be just delayed reactions. His body is just catching up with his mind."

"I'm not dead old man!" He grunted through clenched teeth, the pain lasting several minutes before subsiding enough for his body to relax, catching his breath again as the sweat clung to him now. He sat up now, looking down for a few moments before looking up at the two faces.

"That was very unpleasant." He rubbed his face as he let out a deep breath, feeling for the first time awake now. Feeling as if he was one with his own body again, as if everything was back to normal then.

"Well, he seems better now. I think we can actually talk to him now." His eyes were bright now, seeing them both with clarity he hadn't had for awhile. Standing shakily he rolled his shoulders.

"Please, someone explain to me how there is another woman walking around with the same mark as Ali did? I have never put that more on anyone else." Shadowthrone whacked him with the cane then.

"There is your answer my boy!" Marcus shook his head then.

"She's dead Grandfather, I saw it with my own eyes." He shrugged at him, Exodus speaking up then.

"Marcus, you need to know something. Ali, she is a Confessor." Marcus gave him a curious look.

"I've heard that word before, what are Confessors?"

"They are people, very few people, who can take someone with their power. They can wipe away their humanity with a touch, they become their slaves." Marcus listened intently.

"It won't effect me, most powers don't." Exodus shook his head at him.

"You don't understand. It doesn't take take over your mind, it over rides it. With love."

"Wait, what? With love? You can't be serious." Exodus' face showed how serious he truly was, no smile on hi face, Shadowthrone sharing the expression.

"Love is a powerful thing Marcus, look what it did to you. Her power, turns even the most infinitesimal spark of love, and wipes your mind away with it. You become hers forever if she touches you." Marcus could see it now, all the time she had used it and how the men had acted when they had been touched. He was shaken then, feeling it rush him now, the feeling of knowing it was her.

"She is alive! But, it's not possible, Clyde...." His words stopped then, a growl erupting from his throat then.

"I knew it! I knew that bastard did something!"

"You didn't know anything boy! You need to make sure for yourself, but, don't do this alone. You will need help." Marcus understood then, knowing he would need to talk to someone in particular, he was about to pull himself free when he felt his chest burn again. The crows on his chest flaring to life, roaring in pain he clenched his fists as he felt them appear. The winged forms coming to life around him, seven in total flying around him now, their black feathers glinting in the unknown light. They didn't make a single sound, quiet until they finished their circling then, coming down and landing on translucent branches that appeared at their command. He could hear them now, speaking as one to him.

"Find her Marked one. We will help you." His eyes snapped open then in his room as he looked around now, seeing the ethereal forms of the crows crowding his room now, all looking at him from varying distances with their beady eyes. They spoke again now, the voice echoing in his head.

"Find the Wind Wizard. You are both needed for this task." He rose from his place on the ground, leaving his quarters with the crows in tow, amazed to seem them having manifested themselves, still not sure if his mind had truly broken, he did the only thing he could think. He went looking for Demetri. Edited by Nergil Pendelton

Walking down the halls she felt her eyes burn, this much light made her want to wince, and hiss. She had grown to hate the light during her time down in the dark cell. She could hear her leather squeak as she moved but didn't mind, she crossed her hands over her chest briefly, feeling for the bandanna under her right glove, making sure it was still there. The only thing she had of when she was human. She dropped her hands to her sides as she passed a man in the hall, her masters had told her that this hallway would be empty today, yet here was a man who seemed vaguely familiar, his dark skin and strange markings setting something off inside her, she squashed it quickly. She was not allowed to feel emotions any longer, her masters had taught her that, told her that any such thing as that and she would be severely punished. The scars that littered her body were proof of their cruelty. She didn't bother locking eyes with the man though she could feel his on her, the feeling of it making her skin heat and her head pound, thankfully she was out of sight before it showed, on the outside she was calm, collective. Everything her masters had taught her to be, but on the inside she was screaming. Something about that man had seemed so known to her and she reached for the bandanna under her glove and stopped her self as she rounded the corner. Another person strode towards her, he was large in frame, massive in build but his hazel eyes drew her in and made her knees go weak for a moment. She kept her eyes forward as she passed him, his arm brushing against her's as she passed him, she continued on her way to meet with her masters, the man stopping and turning around as he caught the whiff of a soft scent he thought was gone forever. The faint scent of Oranges drifted around the large man as he stood alone in the hall.

Both Jason and Demitri left the courtyard quietly, they were sure on one thing and one thing only, there was something shady happening and the supposed execution of their beloved Ali could have been staged, but they wanted to know why if it were true. What purpose would it gain to make soldiers and their loved ones believe that the strong woman had been slained? What would it gain the party if this were true and happened? Instead of answering one question, Demirti was now left with more and more as he slowly made his way to his office, the room now empty; his employees had retreated for the evening to their own living quarter. Entering his own personal office, Jason quickly entered the dark, shadowed room as the commandant entered after his brother-in-law, slowly shutting the door and locking it quietly behind himself. Jason transformed back into his human form quickly as he peered around, still cautious not to make a sound, even though the two were alone in the facility on their floor.

"So, believe me now?" Jason grunted, Demitri gave the slightests of nods before gliding to his office desk, bringint his personal computer to life by moving the mouse, the giant entered his personal password, which happened to be his wifes favorite flower, before the main screen came to life. Noticing nothing has been changed on his desktop, the giant began to open some files on Ali and her execution orders. Only finding a single signature on a lone file, nothing too detailed as it mentioned the man she killed the the reason for her reason for her execution. There have been only 6 members of HDF executed for going rouge or killing the innocent in HDF history, most of them occured before Demitri even joined when he was 24 years old, but the files of those executed a least had all of their records added to their file. Physical and medical, psychological and detailed explanation of their powers, all paperwork signed by the same member of the high coucil member who ordered Ali's execution. This rose Demitri's own personal red flag, noticing that it was the same man for all 6, now7 executions, Jason stalked over by Demitri as he looked over the paperwork. "Find anything out of the ordinary?"

"Yeah, this counsil member right here...Councilor Raze" Demitri pointed on the screen, Jason noticed the numerous signatures on the death warrents for the past members, all signed by the same person, with a co-signer as well.

"What about this Madam Pain?" Demitri raised an eyebrow when the name was mentioned, she's been with HDF since the 60's at the peak of the organizations active front, dring the time when monsters and scary creatures made its way to the movies, they used the opportunity to strike fear into the hears of humans by making those fears a reality. During the late 60's is when the European base was built to deal with out of state anomolies, yet she was only a sergent during those times. But on her records, its shows she was accepted into the High Council during the early 80's. Demitri leaned back on his chair for a moment before speaking.

"That's really out of place, there's been only a few occurances of a council member extending their work past 15 years, but 15 years is the limit for a council member...yet she's almost held a spot for 40. Yet out of all the members of the chamber, she's probably marked as one of the most dangerous and volitile, yet she's been in the same chair even when my grandfather took the role of High Council member a couple of years back..." Demitri straightened in his chair before looking over her files over again and again along with Raze. "Not to mention, Raze had been in for almost 20 years now, I wonder if my father knows about this" He spoke, opening a new window to type an encrypted email to his father, knowing he would be sleeping and get this when he woke, but something had to be mentioned immediately. Jason flinched for a moment before snapping his head to the window, of the entrance door to Demitri's office, shuffling could be heard on the outside as the sond drew closer and closer to Demitri's door.

"Hurry it up old man, we don't have time for this" Demitri ignored the pleas from his ally as he typed the last message before sending the message, quickly turning of his computer, both men stood and rushed over to either side of the entrance door as the wooden fram opened quickly, a single gun pointed first with a flashlight pointing to the now empty work desk of the Commandant. Demitri silently charged a wind blast in his palm as Jason readied himself to pounce on the intruder. Slowly, the figure made its way inside the office.

"Who's there?" She whispered, Demitri and Jason both froze as they saw Circuit slowly entereing the office, Demitri quickly shut the door behind the his assistant as Jason place a hand over her mouth, disarming her of her weapon as the gun hit the ground softly, Circuit screamed for a moment before Demitri's voice rang in her ears.

"Circuit, what are you doing here so late?" The woman calmed herself as she made out the Commandant in the dim lighting that came from the outside windw, Jason released her as she took a couple of deep breaths, clearly shocked by the surprise as she turned to face the two men.

"A silent alarm is placed inside of this office and goes directly to my phone, so I thought to investigate" Circuit calmed her breathing as she stood at attention to her superiors. Demitri sighed in relief, at least she was trustworthy to the two of them, which they would need if they wanted to do something more into the findings of the murder of their beloved Ali. Demitri leaned down and placed both of his hands on Circuit's shoulders, both on either side as he brought her close to Jason and himself.

"Listen to me carefully now Circuit, I need you do to me a huge favor, and be descrete about it too, we may be in over our heads" Circuit looked shocked as the commandant spoke, clearly he was in some kind of danger or planning to be soon, she would do anything to make sure the commandant was safe. Circuit simply nodded as Demitri continued to talk. "First, I need to to take my kids, Lily and Neos outside of the base, both at different location. Take Neos to my parents mansion, my mother is there on some personal time with the other servents who work there. He'll be heavily guarded for sure. Next, take Lily to my house in Ammond Terrance, the log cabin house and make sure you stay with her while you're there, bring another Commander from this list, any of them, to aid you. This is to be kept top secret now, if they question anything, say it's a solid "You owe me" from their commandant. Is that clear?" Circuit nodded as she took down notes on her personal computer after placing the small list of commanders into her breast pocket of her uniform, she was very detaied in her work indeed. Jason sniffed the air the room suddenly turned darker than it normally would, and the moon was still out tonight. Demitri noticed the change too as he took hold of his assistants hand and the three left the office floor, Jaon not too far behind. Once on the bottom floor of the building, Circuit ran off into the shadows to complete her task, Demitri looked back at Jason for a moment.

"Jason, have Alpha Team Elite on stand-by, just in case, I'm going to try and find Marcus for this little hunt." Jason transformed into his werewolf form in an instant at the command.

"Tank and Luwein as well? They're still only children Demtiri" Jason growled, Demitri sighed and nodded at the statement,.

"But at least we can trust them to have our backs, we're playing things close to the wire with this. I'm gonna try and find Marcus and share the information we've gathered, depenending on his personal feeling, I'll convince him we need to go deeper in to finding out what's going on around the base, especially with the High Council. If you don't hear from us within 24 hours from now, all the information we gathered will be sent to your offce computer with all that we found, it can be at least enough to raise questions on two of the council members. Understood?" Jason grunted before making his way to inform the rest of his team members, the werewolf decided to wake up the sleeping Calypso first, feeling her life was i danger made the wolf run faster thean he thought he would in his whole life. Demitri walked down the halls nonchalantly, seeing the night soldiers go about their patrols, but he only saw a pair every hour, it was not like them to slack off. Demitri made a mental note to beef up security, turning a corner, the giant was in deep thought until he accidentally bumped into a small figure, it caught him off guard for a moment as he stumbled slightly. "Excuse me, my ap-...." Demitri looked as the slim, almost ghost like figure continued to walk down the shadows of the hall, thats when Demitri took a deep breath, before lazily shutting his eyes as his body felt relaxed at the aroma.

(Oranges...just like my love...but...) Demitri turned his head slightly to see the figure out of sight now, but he could hear footsteps coming from behind himself, it didn't matter to the giant who it was, the scent of that person made the giants eye's water slowly. For the first time in months, he flt happy as he remembered the fragrance his wife wore that drove him up the walls with lust and affection, for once...he was happy, even for that brief moment.

She walked through the halls, her destination clear as she headed down the hall and towards the training room; entering it she looked around at the half fixed walls and floors, meeting the gazes of the people working within it, her voice snapping out in a cold tone.
"Get out."
The younger men and women scrambled to get out of her way and out the door as she locked it behind them. Walking up to the console she typed in a few codes and walked to the middle of the room shedding her trench coat, the skin of her back and shoulders exposed to any one looking at the screen in the other room, her skin littered with scars from her cruel treatment, the whip lashes seen clearly as they crisscrossed across her form. The light pink scars showing clearly on her pale skin. She rolled her shoulders as the simulation began, the room going dark as she stood in the middle of the room, a bright light blazing down on her as she was seemingly standing in the middle of the council room.
"Confessor, what have you called us here for?"
"I am no longer your Confessor. I am not a tool!"
The room began to vibrate with her power as it built inside of her and came off of her in waves, she held back the scream as she felt Pain's power radiate through her and try to make her bend, she held her ground and when Raze's power shifted over her trying to cut off her senses she blocked it out.
"I am not a monster! I am free of you!"
Her power exploded within the room causing the lights in the base to flicker, the steel walls buckling from the force of it. Down the hall Marcus had caught up with Demetri who was leaning on the wall not wanting to move away from the scent she had left behind, both of them jumping as the base rocked with the force of her power, both of them looking at each other before regaining their balance, Demetri looked down at him.
"Marcus, what the hell is going on around here?"
"I don't know, but I need to tell you something, it's important."
Demetri nodded and opened his mouth to answer when the base shook again, both looking towards the training room before sprinting in that direction, once there they pushed people aside from the screen looking in at the training room, both halting in their tracks as they took in the woman on the screen. She twisted and turned around the room fighting off what ever enemy she had selected, she dropped to her knees and bent backwards, her thin body bending in a way that should have broken her in half. Her right knee lashing upwards at her target, the rest of her body following as she flipped backwards, her black boots connecting with other targets around her.
Within the room she spun around and swung her left foot around catching Raze in the chest and sending him backwards, her voice echoing through the room as she screamed to no one in particular.
"I want my life back!"
Her power burst from her body again, this time the lights in the room shorting out and shattering with the force of it, the back up lights shining down on her as she fought the council members, finally getting to Clyde, his wicked smile gleaming at her as she growled.
"My little Confessor. My pet...settle down. I would not want to harm my most precious possession."
She rushed forward and slammed her fist into the man's face, on the screen her fist embedding itself in the wall.
"I am no one's possession. I will be free of you!"
Wrenching her hand out of the wall her glove ripped off, the blue bandanna fluttering with her swift movements, the sight of it making Marcus' breath hitch as he saw it, she planted her hands on the floor and used her weight to swing her feet out, the move having been seen by both men time and time again as she let her power loose once again, the battered training room shutting down, unable to continue functioning after so much damage. She rested on one knee, her hand flat on the floor as she stared at the bandanna tied to her wrist, her eyes already so used to the dark she needed no light to see her surroundings as she stood and walked out of the destroyed room, her cold demeanor back in place.
