1. Realistictly: Well these are somewhat available things that I want ---> Vash's glasses, A authentic shinsengumi uniform =}, a Japanese Katana, and of friggen baby the mother load... I want a Hachi Roku (AE86 Honda Trueno) identical to Takumi's from Initial D, hell i'll settle for a Lan EVO, really just about any car from Initial D would do . Um does this count ---> learn to do techniques from the Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu for real x___X! Hey atleast some techniques are somewhat possible :P Unrealistictly: A Gundam (any mobile suit will do =]), a Armor Slave (once again any model), Mido Ban's Evil Eye technique, Ginji's ability to create thunder/electricity, ----> There are alot more things I want but it would take to long to name them all let alone think up everything I want so I guess that's just a brief list of some of the things I would want off the top of my head...
2.
The first one only did take a few minutes because, essentially, all I did was change the size of it to be banner size. The second one did not take me 4 minutes, by the way. Each of the characters, which were around 600x600, had to be cropped from their backgrounds. I take a lot of time in tweaking my banners until I am completely satisfied with them overall. "From the looks of it" you can't tell how long they take because you didn't make them. You have no idea what all was done in a banner just "from the looks of it".
Cropping out a character from a bigger image nevertheless onto a WHITE background is the easiest type of photo editing to do -_-. Here's a few reasons white tends to hide up the mistakes you may make, and when a image is shrunk even more pixels get lost because of the size distortion. Now please don't argue I posted a opinion take it as you will, I'm not in the mood to continue this.
I do what looks good to me so I could care less if you like them.
haha quite ironic why make a thread to post your banners in if you don't care what others think -_-.
3. Wow I haven't posted that bad gramatically since the good old n00b days... Then again it could be that instead of spending all my time in doors I enjoy working out outside even in the cold -_-.... urusei... anyway my quality over quantity "garbage" does still apply to you; just take it as it is (don't get angry -_-). From the looks of it your signatures have not taken very long to make you just make them for the sake of making them, now there is nothing wrong with that. But it is my personal opinion and advice to you that you would be better off trying to make a few good sigs instead of many less than medicore ones. example: Your naruto sigs could be created in less than 4 minutes. If you spent a little bit more time on them and strived more for quality you could easily have come up with something better (I hope).
4.
Yes G Gundam does have crappy animation and sure its plot could be alot better, but it is better then most of the other show in the Gundam saga. Have any of you seen the shows that came before G Gundam. I mean wow when I saw G Gundam I was happy about it. G Gundam's predecessors were terrible there plot was like Wings but the war was so boring, the animation needed alot of work done to it, the character though they appeared to be round were flat and dull. I would put G Gundam in the top three out of all of the Gundam show, right under Seed and Wing.
Why is it that I have the feeling your basing this souly off of the difference in animation -_- and the difference in the complexity of the plots. Many of the U.C. series have a more complex plot and a underlying message and for the most part all try to accuratly convey a sense of war that is not true in some of the "newer" series such as G-Gundam, Gundam Wing, and SEED. As for everything else I had to say Queky just about summed it up... Now not to say G-Gundam is a bad series. I actually enjoyed it the first time through. It's a nice change from the normal gundam series and there are some battles which I can truly say I loved. But there are times when G-Gundam just kind of lagged on and when some of the mecha designs were just plain odd and out of place.
5. w00t w00t here is another somewhat more complete preview... I think it's bigger as well =]. What you see for recent music videos is more or less how it is probably going to be in the version, although the colors of the text will be made slightl darker so they are easier to read. I'm also debating as to whether only have "recent MVs" on the main page and then from section to section the Recent MV spot will change to serve as a sub-navigation -_o. Anyway... I also noticed that the color of the side bar is coming out a little too dark when I save it but since it's probably my monitor I might leave it but if any of you are having the same problem tell me so I can make it just a tad bit lighter =P. @ Baron Samedi
however, one of the characters looks a bit strange... He has a flat butt, and looks like he should be sitting down, not stanidng as he is. He is the bottom-left positioned one.
ROFL I never noticed that . I could try to make it round but i'd rather not tamper with the stock image that much =o.
No idea who they are
*smacks upside the head* They be the Shinsengumi. They were a real group of people in japanese history who *essentially* acted as a police troop, patrolling the streets of Kyoto in order to keep the peace. @ James
The fact that the images are also blue and white, but with a hint of other colours is really nice too. They don't dominate the page but they give it just enough flair to prevent blandness. Very nice work.
Moo? Wait that didn't come out right... Thanks ^_^. Many of the layouts I do now are essentially based around one or two colors and are just created by using slightly different shades of those two colors for everythign else. The trouble is finding a image to fit my desired color scheme... Although often times I just end up editing the colors of the image so they match :rolleyes. Eh well that wasn't the case this time as I based this layout around the stock image ^___^.
6. [quoteWhy doesn't anyone ever post in my thread? It's the same people every time besides the occasional newbie.
Alot of people including myself don't like these constant threads where graphics are constantly posting. Instead of rolling out in quantity aim for quality. Let's see the animated Saiyuki banner is interesting but it doesn't have a smooth animation in the sense that once it ends it kind of "jumps" then starts over. The blood looks somewhat liquidy which is nice but because of that it just somehow doesn't look right when it scrolls down if the ripples moved... now that'd be something. As for the Naruto banners the one with the arrow is quite simple but looks somewhat nice. My biggest complaint is that between the text there is just too much white space. As for the other Naruto banner, the way the eye hangs over the border looks good... but I really don't know how to say this other than that it looks "odd" in demeanor/for a signature. :therock:
7. Underrated series... Tekkaman Blade a old series many people have not seen and those who have may remember by it's americanized name of "Teknoman". The story was intense and gripping and chalk full of the good stuff be it battles or character development it was fleshed out pretty decently although Slade to some extent at times was too much of a goody-two shoe.
8. Mesh = Blend. Make them look like they seemingly blend together as one image. Basically make them fade into one another got it ^_^?
9. Hmmmm good idea I can try to work something like that in. I'll porbably do it more as a text based thing though as I really want to keep this layout clutter free of too many images =O.
10. Yeah I did the current layout as well, the biggest problem I have (well atleast it looks this way on my pc...) is that the colors seem very distorted or atleast completely different from how they're supposed to look/in photoshop. Sometimes for whatver reason although I think it is the host i've been told the current layout seems to go lagtastic on 56k users sometimes x_X. As for the new layout right now i'm contemplating if I should add recent music video boxes or not =\ what do you (all) think o_O? --- on a side note the text in banner might possibly change, I like it so far but alot of other fonts look nice as well so dur... whatever ^_^ ---
11.
Now, I have a question for all of you more experienced banner-makers out there. So far, I've been making my borders by using Photoshop's line tool. They end up looking rather Spartan, although they're perfectly adequate for the purposes of defining the shape of the banner. What might I do to make more interesting borders?
Grr... first of all man don't use the line tool to make borders :P here's a simpler method. ---> 1. Select the color for your border and create a New Layer (= Border layer) 2. Ctrl + A (select all image) 3. Edit > stroke: inside by 1 (whatever number you choose depends the thickness of your border I usually use size 2 once in a while size 3 pixel width). Yep and there's your border =P. One thing you can do is do a double border. *For example* first make sure your color is white (any color will do) then select the entire image (ctrl + a) then go to... edit>>> stroke inside by 4 then change your color to blue and select the entire image again and go to... edit>>> stroke inside by 2. w00t w00t? Now you have a border inside a border... Another good "border" effect can be achieved by just using the eraser tool and just going over the edges of the image so the image appears faded at the edges.
12. Here is a simple layout I started creating yesterday and worked on a little bit earlier today. Although it might seem odd it is almost near completion o_O. I'm going for a simpler look and planning to strive more on content and in particular music videos with this website hence the fact for the simplistic layout design. NOTES: -Some colors came out distorted (can't really notice because of small preview) again so i'm going to have to find a way to fix that... -Yes and the characters in the banner are from the Shinsengumi *go figure* =). edit: now that i think about it shrinking the image so i could attach it as an attachment wasn't a good idea i was going to ask what you guys thought about the navigation but oh well :P
13. Hmmm... The conclusion just seems very rushed =\ and really left you wanting more... You should watch it anyway but it's really not up to par with other parts of the series. Anyway the secound series is "Full Metal Panic Fumoffu" it is indeed a real series I guess but what it lacks from the original is really any mecha battle scenes and instead focuses mainly on the relationship between Sousuke and Kaname. Um I don't believe it's done airing yet and i've only seen the first few episodes but really it's just a pure comedy/romance version of Full Metal Panic more on the comedic side I guess from what i've seen of it, it is quite good and humourous at that. But it really lacks any serious/dark aspects to it (so far...). http://www.themanime.org/viewreview.php?id=590 There is a review for the series it doesn't contain any spoilers either but it should much better explain what the 2nd series is all about.
14. It's a weird combination of humor and action, and at the end of the series all I can say is I was expecting more =\. Not to say this is still one of my favorite animes ^___^. Probably becasue i'm a huge mecha fan... but that's just it despite it's appearance there isn't a whole lotta mecha action in FMP it's really about relationships/change and it's just all out funny =O. Not to say it didn't have it's serious moments as it did have alot of them. I just wish there was a "real" second series *a continuation* now that would be sweet ='].
15. Uh it's kinda gimpy at parts =\ try playing the real song while your rewording this and i'm sure it'll come out better =].
16. No replies -_-. Then let me be the first :cross: Well that looks pretty hot and all I actually am liking the color scheme even though it's pinkish mmmm... hot dogs =}. But for the record you didn't do anything but the border right o_O? And speaking of the border if I recall that's the type of border I used to use and you told me it was ugly -__-!
17. Hmmm I originally was like you and liked the first one but the more I look at it the thinner text in the last final signature just keeps growing and growing on me ^_^. Ah well I guess this thread has reached the end of it's usefulness thanks to all those that have helped.
18. The pictures are cut out pretty well so props for that. But the grid is really horrible, hmmm my suggestion if you want to use a grid make it a brightish green type color and set the blend mode to screen. Also the border is a little messed up you might want to fix that. One last thing you said something about font am I blind or is there no text on that sig o_O? Hmmm decently amusing :P...
19. Ooooh that's pretty good in terms of details and what not but it's a little disproportionate, and the perspective could use some work. Nice picture though and you gotta have the toung if it's venom :cross:
20. Err... yeah with just a few minor touch ups I guess it's done... even though I'm still not sure about the text/font -_-''.
21. lol thanks I bet even if I was trying to make good feet I couldn't make em look right -_-. Even when I draw I can never get the feet right gah! friggen feet -____-.
22. Yeah that's the name of this character "Vectar Wrong" it's basically a bunch of crappy vectors slapped together to create him when I was bored . If I can't get my layout design skills going for a while I might just take a break and do vector art like this... well probably not but i'm possibly gonna make another person today only I'm going to spend more time on it (not duplicate and flip layers) and work alot more on shading and perspective.
23.
least I am diskliking it not because of a few "rip-off" mechas.
Atleast that is true ^_^. It was also somewhat confirmed in a report by... *can't remember name* that SEED was somewhat based for a younger audience and hence was the fact that it was based around "friendship". Well I was actually quite fascinated originally with the friend vs. friend thing although it has been done before in other anime series in many new anime series it's not apparent =\. A theory that also crossed my mind once but i dismissed was that Gundam SEED was setting up for something more... Gundam has been going strong for a long time but many people no longer care or have seen MSG so therefore a remake of MSG was made in SEED to attract a large new fan base...oh well it was just a (no-proven) theory I had a while back...
24. SEED suffers from a variety of problems, the majority of whcih Queky stated. Although people must keep in mind just about every Gundam Series after MSG borrowed in some way or another from a previous Gundam Series it's part of what makes gundam - gundam. Really I figure if your a real Gundam fan you'll watch SEED and like it for the little bit of difference that it brings. And while many people consider the "GINN" and certain other mobile suits as rips off of the "Zaku" and other older mobile suit designs I consider them more of variations o_o... Although calling them 'rips' could be justified... Anyway SEED starts out VERY slow but as it progresses it does manage to become more enjoyable (atleast in terms of action)a and a bit better.
Newbie Registered: Sep 2003 Location: Posts: 15 Seed has 50 eps. as far as I know, not 53. It is going to show on TV anyway to attract more customers to their toys.
That is correct it's only 50 eps i dont know where what's his face got "53" from -_o;.
25. =\ well I see what you're saying about the font... here are a few more versions of the sig with different fonts ---> -_o solid font looks better I guess but i'll have to rearrange the other text and all because none of them stretch out as far as the original dotted text... too bad i'm to lazy to do that right now
