We're only approximately 2 days away from hitting the 10,000 mark for myOtaku members. Banners celebrating this mark should go here. No real requirements - I'll post my favorite one on the main page when we hit it. (Just should be a reasonable size.) Any takers?

You must not have a midi player installed on your computer, download Apple's Quicktime and try again :). [url]http://www.apple.com/quicktime/[/url] This is a really annoying problem with the Internet - there's no standard for music consoles online. People with Quicktime / Windows Media Player / etc. all see different midi consoles. (And there's no uniformity between them!)

Yeah, this is a common glitch that more than a few people have had. I've been bugging our programmer about it for over a month now...

Also make sure your IE Browser can accept cookies. This is important.

I update fan art once per day....depends on what time I get home.

If we ever have a chat, it'll be integrated with myOtaku - but that's something really really far into the future.

On our fan art site, in the hotbox at the bottom, please rank the following in order of how important it is for you to see on the main page: Top 10... Here are some features in mind for myOtaku's next round of upgrades... 1) "Highlight" Members - the ability to bold members in your 'friends' list. Kind of singling out extra-special members. This has been controversial. 2) Member List - sorted by popularity rank, when otaku life was last updated, and when joined. 3) When Otaku Life was last updated on all friends in backroom What do you think of each? Anything else you'd like to see? Right now we're focusing on small things...I can't really afford anything big right now in terms of programming... -Adam

Should the font tag be enabled when you respond to comments / sign a person's guestbook in myOtaku? ADVANTAGE: Lets people personalize messages more. DISADVANTAGE: Makes this less uniform. Post thoughts here. -Adam

Direct linking OB smiles into myOtaku is fine (they're on the same server anyway). The portfolio is going to be larger as our other sections begin to appear :).

This was something that we thought about for a while, but the system that handles greetings now is quite archaic so it wasn't even worth the time. In the future, we're going to redo the greetings site and integrate myOtaku for some fun new features.

Huh?? Why am I the absolute last to hear about this! And BBC segment? That's completely new to me as well. Oh dear...can someone please get this video online? I'd love to see it and post it on the site. -Adam

A member list is definitely going to be made (probably ranked based on member popularity) and a unique boards integration system was something that's always been on the table for us.

No new anime sections will be made until we get the backend for how existing sections are handled completely redone. Thanks for fan fiction suggestions, the site is still a while away though...

Categories will never be a problem in the future. Right now, this is a tentative setup we have because launch was so rushed.

Interesting ideas. Really Guru was launched prematurely, we still need to integrate it with myOtaku and do other stuff, so it's a possibility when we relaunch.

For teaching yourself a language, I highly highly recommend tapes. People are built to learn languages through listening and repeating in a situational context (*not* from reading). I personally like Pimsleur, though it's quite expensive. -Adam
