^ Seconded. Hate them to death. They always sound so... fake. Like Hell's gonna break loose if you don't do as they say. Makes for good enetertaiment, though. I really think you shouldn't have replied with a letter riddled with profanity. Maybe the guy just thought you were interested in chain letters (pointless as they are) and did not mean to put you in a situation that may possibly "ruin your love life", yeah?

There's this chocolate from Cadbury that local stores only release during Valentine's season. Pinky's the name and I heart it to pieces. It's got this ultra-sweet marshmallow center (in pink!) smothered in divine Cadbury milk chocolate. Ah, heaven.
Interestingly, you're more likely to contract Mad Cow from Gummi Bears than a t-bone.
Oh really? Ah well, the symptoms won't set in until some 30 years after ingestion, yeah? BTW, bite the Bear's head off first. That's the best way to eat them Gummi fellas.

Oh no, it might not be "mind-reading" at all, piccolo. I read somewhere in a recent issue of Science magazine about some mechanism that mirrors others' actions/experiences (that one sees) in an individual's brain. It *sort of* figures out how another person would react based on how you would act. But don't take my word for it; I've very poor memory and am not into these brain-experiment things. I'm numb to death-perception (excuse the word) but I've a knack for choosing the best time to skip classes. I always manage to absent myself on days the professor would forget to check class attendance. EDIT: Here we go. The article's title is Reflecting on Another's Mind by Greg Miller. 13 May 2005 issue

No.
You're talking about a Stand Alone episode (18: Lost Heritage) where the conscience of Aramaki's war buddy, Tsujisaki, was downloaded into his son Yuu's brain and somehow guided the younger Tsujisaki through planning and execution stages of the visiting Korean PM's assassination.

The subtitle "Stand Alone Complex" refers to the phenomena of emergent behavior catalyzed by parallelization of the human psyche through the cyberbrain networks on a societal level. There is no original, there is no leader. What ties together the diseparate and unrelated individuals into the event called the "laughing man" case is the systematic motive encoded into the basic informational flow itself. This concept of an ever normalized ego into the fabric of society recall the writings of Philip K. Dick, among others.
Remember the numerous allusions to "Catcher in the Rye" in the series? ("I thought what I'd do was pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes") Turns out that many assassins in the past carried this book around. John Lennon's assassin, I think, was one of them.
There was an episode that showed Togusa scratching out the Laughing Man logo into a mirror right after the part which revelead that he, too, was reading Catcher in the Rye.
The way I see it, they patterned the numerous Laughing Man incidents after this Catcher in the Rye trivia. Cyberterrorism that was supposedly committed by a Laughing Man was actually done by several individuals who aligned themselves to a single view.
Can't remember which episode but it was the one about a big conference and the Major's in her khaki uniform. (Google reveals: Episode 4: MEME) Remember the people who dashed into the building claiming that they were the real Laughing Man? MEME, they say, is like the genetic equivalent of information that can replicate and spread. This is probably the thing that was in those individual's brains and triggered their unusual actions in that episode. As one site put it, "the Laughing Man's call to arms".

^ What about the other 20%? Love 'em? Got some 25 of my batchmates to sign my yearbook (the two-hour launch party, as it turned out, wasn't enough). Will pester the rest in at homecoming.
The fascinating world of science and technology has given humanity those noisy things called cellphones. People never have to be apart again. Txt me. I could never possibly be bothered hearing from you.
Heartwarming. *sigh* Gotta love yearbooks. Every single entry makes me wanna call somebody up and chat the night away.

Alright! Rock on, RS! I absolutely adore Commando. Love the way the red's positioned on the bandanna and the guy's face. The patterns break the otherwise solid dirty white space on his uniform. Brilliant. Are you using CS? I'm pretty sure there's a feature there that allows you to type text along a path; maybe you could use that for "Rip them down" and "Hold them up". Make the text follow a crooked line, yeah? BTW, the box in "Fly the Flag" is probably the itsy-bitsy black one to the left of your logo. I suggest you darken/modify/remove that blurry gray part instead of "The way of life" black box (which is very cute!)

There may be something on that table (like a mini-piano) that Mini-Me doesn't know is there, but is that a sensory data limitation or merely a limitation of physical perspective? You're saying our perception is limited because we can't see through solid objects? We don't have the original valley because the grass may be covering something? Or because there may be something beyond one of the hills?
Oh no, I think r2vq's reference to what's "hidden beneath the grass" ain't about being able to look through solid objects. But yeah, our perception's limited. Let's see... Where the flower's covered with chemicals responsible for painting the parts with UV patterns, a bee sees blue fields. They sense these signals because they need help zeroing in on the nectar. We, on the other hand, can't see these patterns because we don't reallly need the nectar... In any case, whether or not we can perceive some extrasensory trait of the hill (like the amount of thermal radiation it emits), won't help us make decisions on what to do with the hill (climb it or just view it from afar?). The way I see (think of, rather) it, we simply don't need such information in choosing among possible courses of actions. That's probably why we can't react to all stimuli the hill can offer. Can't go around wasting brain space on useless info, yeah?

Oh my. I guess Kazuya Minekura was wrong. Looks like Sha Gojyo ain't much of a ladies' man after all. Why this crimson-haired, chain-smoking rogue? I've a thing for men with vices. Gambling, smoking, drinking, you name it, he's into it. He's a very naughty fellow, the only character I know who cracks vulgar jokes while fighting 40-foot high shikigamis. Everytime he makes an unexpected appearance, he strikes a pose and says something casual. It's as if nothing, not gods nor vicious demons, can remove him from his zone. [STRIKE]Anything he does, he does for coolness' sake.[/STRIKE] No, looking cool is second nature to him. Which reminds me of another character who falls into this category: Onizuka Eikichi (nijuuni-sai!). Effortless cool, baby.

Whoa~ The parasol is loooovely. Looks like it came straight out of the Victorian era. It's amazing what you can do with umbrella frames! You, good mistress, have great potential. Brilliant move, adding those sparkly thingies on the fabric (or were they originally there? Good choice of fabric, then). Maybe you could attach something to the rim (is that what it's called?). Some fringe or additional lace maybe, just to weigh the fabric down. Sell it. It's worth big bucks.

Any avatar...? Kidding! The set's attached; hope you don't mind pink. Hey, hey, if you want me to change something in the set (like the font. Feedback please!), please PM me. I'd be more than glad to alter it for you. Cheers!

Incoming! Yeah, it's just an avatar. I was hoping for another artist to make the set for you but I can't pass up a Fruits Basket request. If you're interested in a matching banner, please say so. Cheers!

Mmm hmm. Finally, a chance to play around with WW2 photos! I guess I'll have to attach it then.

"Solipsism is a philosophical theory that everything is in the imagination, and there is no reality outside one's own mind. As a philosophical theory it is interesting because it is internally consistent and, therefore, cannot be disproved. But as a psychological state, it is highly uncomfortable. The whole of life becomes a long dream from which an individual can never wake up. Each person is trapped in a nightmare. Even friends are not real, they are a part of the dream. A person feels very lonely and detached, and eventually becomes apathetic and indifferent." -Wikipedia Probably related, especially to the chapter on "Our Body and Our Dreams". I think the guy isn't saying everything is fake but we experience things like sight and sound in our brain. Says there that our world is actually pitch black and that the thing we perceive as "light" is just our brain's interpretation of photons that hit our eyes (or something like that). It's like infrared light being interpreted into visual light through thermal goggles. But that matter doesn't exist? Surely, the stimulation that the brain interprets as "matter" isn't something we sent ourselves. Must've come from something else, IMO. One thing I don't get is what he means by "direct contact". And could somebody explain this:
Here we are referring only to someone who glimpses a car. Consider a person seeing a valley several miles long. If he claims that he sees the original valley, then his visual center must, in the same way, occupy an area of at least several square miles. If so, then the person' brain, internal organs, arms and legs must all be proportionate-and of colossal dimensions.
o_O Waiting for someone to crack a Matrix joke.

Please don't compare me to CLAMP. I know I'm not worth it, hehehe. (thank you though)
Alright, how about that mangaka Kazuya Minekura? MAD drawing skills. Draws lovely hair. Yep, your drawing reminds me of her works, Saiyuki most of all. Absolutely delish~ ♥ By George, now that's an appropriate background. Finally got that part nailed down, yeah? ^_~ Works really well with the subject. Perhaps you could change the font. Something more manga-ish? Or maybe you can add monochromatic noise over it, just to tie it up to the rough-lookin' banner. More!

God, man! Best drawing to ever grace Art Studio since I first joined OB. Gotta hand it to you, kiddo; you've got some serious talent in those hands! The hair looks really natural. It's as if it was drawn by an artist from CLAMP! Her profile looks excellent. And don't worry, her arms looks fine. There's nothing wrong with them.
My least favorite part of the picture is the background, by far. It just doesn't... fit with the gentleness of the picture. It looks too harsh to be water, really. Try drawing out the water yourself in ink -- you obviously have the talent, so go for it all the way.
Seconded. (Or you could stick with a solid white background) ♥ 10/10 for the lineart ♥ Need. More. Drawings.

Frames = Panels? Just remember how eyes tend to move through a page. You start at the top and can either continue to the right (left in manga) or downwards. What some manga-kas do (sorry, I am more familiar with mangas) is they overlap panel corners/edges to show which panel comes next. They can also enclose related panels in a larger shape if they need to "separate" scenes even further. How a panel is shaped is also important. You have your generic rectangle for scenes where there's not much action going on and a variety of skewed ones for dynamic scenes. But it all boils down to the artist's style in the end. I've yet to see a methodical and effective way of drawing panels. Practice, it seems, is still the key to good panelling.

Alright! An Escaflowne request! *heart* Please wait for my submission, Chief. Will post it soon. EDIT: Har you gow. I used characters from both series (I hope you don't mind). If you're gonna use this set and want something altered, please do not hesitate to PM me. Cheers!

God, man! So you made that banner with just filters? *whistles* It looks balanced, flows nicely and feels alright to me. The reds, oranges and black remind me of molten rock. It's like looking down one of those vents above underground lava rivers. I like it very much. Had a feeling Trib was behind this move. *chuckles* Alright, I agree with Trib. Your banner does need a border. Black 1px won't cut it, though. I suggest putting a 2px dark violet border set on, hmmm, Color Burn (I'm assuming you're using Photoshop ^^) inner to the black border. Anything that darkens the margin but doens't conceal those wonderful swirly details.

Woo~ So bright! I absolutely adore the background! It looks like it's up in flames or something. Very eye-catching, definitely would want to learn how to do that. Provide a tutorial for it, love, will you? *heart* The font matches the background purr-fectly: grungy and angular. I'm not a fan of glows and shadows but you made good use of them. Keh, I'm so enamored of the font that I feel I've to praise the font color as well! Truth be told, I'm not too crazy about the picture at the right margin. Maybe you can remove the clouds render above his layer, just to up the contrast in that part. ("got a hell of sexy stare there, partner")

If you have time, you can head over to MiniTokyo.net. Excellent online community; the only catch is you've gotta level-up first before you can download (*cough* leech) anything from their galleries. Members of 4chan.org can also provide choice images from Samurai Champloo. You have to request for them, though. For now, Google Image search will have to do. 2,440 hits for "samurai champloo", baby!
