1.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. There are still plenty of anime without 'moe characters'... and anyway, the important thing is that moe is in the eye of the beholder. You may think Kino the character is moe, but that doesn't necessarily make Kino's Journey a moe anime. (I guess it's okay to say that a show that's obviously gunning for a moe reaction is a 'moe anime,' but on the whole, moe is a feeling, and it's one that comes from the viewer. Cute characters have never been totally avoidable. But moe--as an emotion, an attraction, whatever--is 100% avoidable.) Technically there are no moe character designs... just character designs that you personally think are moe, designs that other people are likely to think are moe, and designs that try so damn hard to be moe that you kind of have to acknowledge their efforts no matter how you actually feel about them. Calling these sorts of designs moe is an expression of personal opinion, just like calling them beautiful.
I couldn't have said it better. I generally watch old school anime which didn't jump on the moe train. Also there can be moe in an anime and I will still watch it. It's not that big a deal if there are some moe characters in an anime. But if every 2 seconds they are trying to sell the moe then the anime will just piss me off.
 2. Frank Sinatra Man sexiest music on EARTH. They need to play some Frank Sinatra in anime. I would buy it. Some of my "Hardcore metal fan" buddies laugh at me but they just don't understand the greatness of Frank Sinatra. The voice the musicianship oh it's all spectacular. In my mind the only thing that even comes close is rush.
 3. Meh I hate moe. Mostly because cute isn't my thing. Although I do make exceptions for very special characters. Also a lot of moe characters look freaky...they have those dead eyes...
 4. Ive heard good things about this one. Some people have told me it's the next Cowboy Bebop. I don't know about that but it looks pretty good. When it comes out wit ha box set I will check it out.
 5. I really like the stuff that comes from korea. Almost every manga/anime I have seen from there is really unique. An example I think of immediately was My Beautiful Girl Mari. It has a real dreamlike quality. Top notch stuff. For atmosphere anything like that is great. I also like miyazaki for backgrounds and locales. Not so much character design. I find his girls all look the same. He makes beautiful landscapes though. For character designs I gotta give it To Osamu Tetsuka. He made very unique looking characters. They look western and eastern at the same time. What do I hate? Shojuoey stuff. Really skinny girls with big heads and colorful clothes. NaNa and Supergals are some good examples of this(I still like NaNa though...very good story)
 6. Well I have noticed something weird recently. In the past there were three very well made games on the PS2. Here is a quick synopsis of each. Zone Of the Enders 2-It' a mecha. It's a very good mecha...perhaps the best mecha ever to come out for the Ps2. AMAZING graphics. EXTREMELY fun gameplay. A VERY moving story. Also it had some of the best boss fights EVER. It even had a decent v.s. mode. Easily much better than it's predecessor. Jade Cacoon 2-Well it's an rpg. It' a very good rpg. It is sorta like a mix of pokemon final fantasy and the original digimon combined. It is pretty fun and has decent graphics. The gameplay is actually pretty unique. Again easily much better than it's predecessor. Dark Cloud 2-I'm sure you've heard of the original dark cloud. It was at first one of the "killer apps" for the ps2. The first one was a great game! Now the second was a work of art. A very good story SPECTACULAR graphics. So many different fun things to do. For the third time it is a big improvement from the last game. Now to the point. These three games are great games. Yet none of the developers plan a sequel(at least to the knowledge of gamespot.com...). They were all more successful than the original game. Also they are all sequels. They were all on the PS2. So my question is why? Why did these three games get forgotten? Is this just some odd coincidence or are these three games connected? I usually don't make up conspiracy theories but this hits me as very odd. Please share your thoughts with me.(If you know anything about a sequel please share!)
 7. Yea I pretty much look like the lead character of Shaman Warrior. Imagine him with less muscle and facial hair.Which is a FANTASTIC Korean manga by the way.
 8.
About Tool sounding angry, Maynard and the rest of Tool can sound angry with their lyrics and not have to scream and jump around like they are having seizures. Its intense and emotional and a deeper feeling than anything Slipknot ever did.
I disagree. I personally think Slipknot has more raw emotion in their lyrics and sound. Tool seems to be exploring it more than feeling it. But like Athena said it's a matter of opinion.
 9.
Anyway, Tool is another favorite. I can acutally say that I love A Perfect Circle first before Tool. Don't get me wrong, Tool is really great; but I didn't fall in love. I see this as Maynard's more aggressive/angry/violent side. This is the band that I listen to when I get angry, and I just need that medium to vent. A Perfect Circle, as I see it, is more spiritual, fanciful, soul-empowring, and dare I say hypnotizing. When I listen to APC, my mind completely disconnects, and I've found more inspiration listening to them than I have with any other band. I'm so terribly disappointed that they haven't come out with anything new.
Tool doesn't really sound angry to me...when I think of angry I think of things like Slipknot,N.W.A,and Pantera. Tool comes off as very melodic. Hell the only songs I see as "Angry" are AEnima and Bottom. Everything else seems to have a cynical or comical tone.
 10. More often than not I think becoming isolated has a lot to do with your personality and things like that rather than something trivial like anime. I mean it's just entertainment. If an entire group of people will single you out because of it trust me THEY are the weirdos not you.
 11. Ogre battle 64 I got this game about 7 years ago. I still play it. It has SO much content. You can get so many characters I didn't think you could get until I went to online FAQ's and found out you could get them. Of course the game play is still amazingly fun(I could watch the annihilation animation all day long). Then there are a lot of forks in the road storywise which is anohter time eater. Adiyn chronicles It's basically kotor before kotor was kotor. It's also basically a digital version of DnD and you know how that is... Unlike the ogre battle the graphics are really showing it's age but it is still fun to play.
 12.
I've seen it and to be frank I found it boring. It was interesting from the standpoint of what the overall story idea was about, but the execution was poor. I kept expecting a story but the truth is, there just wasn't much of a story at all. Sure it was about people and what motivates them but it never went much further.
I thought it had a good story. It showed the people on their journey. Why the people went on their journey. Then they ended that journey. Not the most complex way of storytelling but it is still a story. But I guess that's your opinion and I can't change that.
 13.
Undertow is pretty cool. A few of the songs sound too much alike in my opinion, but it's also got great sngs like Bottom - the epitomy of rage in my opinion. similar to ths is the EP Opiate which I also thought as excellent.
You didn't mention Disghustipated...that is by far the funniest song from them EVER! "They have a consciousness!" About Bottom...I never really liked that one too much. The talking right in the middle(although it has a purpose) kinda takes me out of the mood.
 14.
Holy hell, did I just casually walk into the thread and see someone badmouthing Gunslinger Girl?! *writes you down on the 'do not listen to their reccomendations' list* Aside from the first 2 episodes of GG, what I've seen was a spectacular anime that does a great job of capturing the feel of my favorite manga. (the trouble with the first two is that they seemed to split one episode in half and had to use scenes from the first over again). I give it a high reccomendation.

Gunslinger Girl doesn't have universal appeal. Some fans think the world of it, though (I'm one of them).
I guess so... Anyway I wasn't really bad mouthing it. I was just saying near the beginning it was rather boring to me.
 15.
Well, it was a long time ago so I kind of figured it wasn't quite the same today nor do I think others got harassed to the same degree that I did, though I'm sure they do, just on different things besides anime. As for dropping my hobby? lol It'll never happen. If people are so narrow minded as to exclude someone for liking something different, I wouldn't want to be their friend anyway. But then the idea that you can't like certain things in order to get along with others has never appealed to me. But I don't have that problem anymore and haven't run across it for quite a while. Also, I've got plenty of friends who like it, both in real life and online. ;)
Well I wouldn't put up with the ******** you went through. So I would at least act like I dropped it just so people could leave me the hell alone. Although I think bringing the manga to school was a bad idea. Especially if there area bunch of crazy zealots there. I also assume that people would have left you alone by now. Seeing as anime has gotten a boost in popularity since then.
 16.
Gunslinger Girl doesn't have universal appeal. Some fans think the world of it, though (I'm one of them). It has richly animated action scenes, but it's not an action series. I think that's where the problem stems from--people want it to be a dramatic, smash-bang production when really it's a slice-of-life show that happens to be about little girl cyborgs. It's quiet, subtle and kind of heartbreaking. There's a lot of character exploration but no saving-the-world story. And, as is probably appropriate for a show that deals with counter-terrorism, it's never clear who's really good or bad. ~Dagger~
THATS IT! That's what bore me! Counter terrorism always comes of as boring to me. That explains Noir and this! Oh well. Actually there was one episode (I can't remember if it was 3 or 4) that was really good.
It showed the cyborg girl making friends with the hotel worker then killing him.
17.
Thank you. I'm surprised to see that you are knowledgeable about such things, based on your screen name (if it is indeed an Avenged Sevenfold reference), but either way, it's good to see that someone got to it before I did.
You know how some people regret tattoos after they get them at some point? Thats what this screen name is a regretted tattoo.
I actually lol'd a bit at the whole "Tool used to be thrash metal" thing... whoever wrote that very, very obviously has never heard thrash before. Ever.
I question their understanding of music in general.
As for Tool, I do indeed enjoy their music. They used to be my all-time favorite band, back around the time Lateralus had just been released, but I've grown out of it since. The thing about Tool is that they're not nearly as deep as I think a lot of their fans would like to believe. And many of their 'deep' songs are actually just about sex (which I think is awesome, because the band themselves know that their duping a large portion of their fanbase).
Indeed. They have pretty simple songs actually(lyrically...). Someone told me they thought prison sex was about abortion...some people.
A Perfect Circle is pretty good as well, and have produced their fair share of interesting songs.
Indeed.
Puscifer isn't actually a band - it was just the name under which Maynard and his cohorts released the couple of songs they did for the Underworld soundtrack
Meh They show up as a band on my ipod so I consider them a band...they are more of a clothing brand though.
 18. A Tribe Called Quest-Electric Relaxation Like all Tribe songs the rhymes are catchy and smooth.
 19.
Oh I see. A Couple of friends told me it was good, but not great. I'll see if I can find a preview somewhere, I am pretty sure NewType sent a DvD with an episode sometime ago lol. Thank you for the heads up.
No problem. There is no telling if it gets better later on. For all I know it has an epic ending or something. From the stuff I saw you might wanna check out Midori Days. Here is a link for ya http://www.animecornerstore.com/midoridays.html Gunslinger girls and Midori days are around the same price.
 20.
There is more emotion in metal then there is in rap, and cuntry. Mostly because rap music is about gilrs, rims, and bling; which hardly needs emotion to write. Country is most old lovey dovey songs, songs about hardships, and songs about crappy country-side morals. Where metal and Rock has tons of subjects I've seen. Love, death, breakup, murder, confusion, drugs and alchohol, darkness, and a bunch of other subjects I won't babble on about. But, I'm just being stereoypical of rap and country. I heard the version that Blake Lewis sung on American Idol, and I quickly noticed the song when they said "Imagine all the people."
...Eh? Let's not steryotype rap and country. There is a lot of deep stuff out there from both gernes. Also tool does not fall under Metal. I don't care what anybody says. They are NOT metal(ask any metal head!).
 21. Recommendations for DS Pokemon diamond/pearl-This is pretty much a classic handheld rpg. It is a bit more difficult than older versions of pokemon though. Anything Castlevania-They are all very well done on the DS although portrait of doom(or whatever it's called) is my personal fave. Advanced Wars DS-This game=win win win! It's a turn based strategy game...and it's magnificent! The ai is actually smart to a degree and the gameplay ts strait up fun. Puyo Pop Fever-This game is basically colorful tetris. Who doesn't like colorful tetris? Oh yea and buy the special edition Halo xbox 360. I think that one is cheaper...either cheaper or better. Xbox 360 is probably the console with the best games right now so you should pick it up. Either that or wii(I hear it's great fun!)
 22.
A perfect Circle - I ahven't heard enough to make a thought out of them, but these guys are really good. I happen to like the remake of John Lennon's 'Imagine' whcih was epic in my books.
Personally I prefer the perfect circle version. There is more emotion in the voice.
 23.
Will most likely get in the near future: -Gusnlinger Girl
I don't recommend it. It is a tad boring in the beginning...
 24.
I like it--the first time I watched the series in full, I stuck to the English version--but it doesn't stand up to a lot of newer dubs. That said, there are some stunning individual performances. Rachael Lillis as Utena in episode 33 is just brilliant. The critical scene relies entirely on the power of her monologue. ~Dagger~
Utena is like 10 years old though...so you gotta cut it a little slack. Nanami's voice is infectious!(I
 25. Well I have no problem with a good lookin gal or guy gettin with a less attractive guy or gal. Looks are temproary. If the pretty person gets his/her face split open he/she won't be pretty anymore. Hopefully their relationship wasn't based too much on looks.
