Band: Linkin Park Why? Most people just hear this name and say, oh, they suck. And the hater would look at the artwork and say, man that's so gay. different music for different people, but beside that point. The artwork for this album is amazing. Very simple, a soldier with angel wings equipped to him. the hybrid of Soldier/angel. The hybrid of Rap/Rock. The artwork trully brings out the meaning of this album.
I think someone's looking into this a tad too much. Those are dragonfly/insect wings, not angel wings. The title is only about the hybrid of nu metal/hip hop, not soldier/angel. and they do suck~_~

The new Prodigy album, by far. Possibly The Bourne Ultimatum, Shrek the Third, Ocean's 13, the Simpsons movie, and Beowulf. Oh, and Black Sheep. Movies is slim pickin's this year.

C'est moi! What's your favorite hobby? Music production may have innocently started out as a hobby, but now, it consumes me (in a healthy way, of course). I create songs on my computer and various other gear. I'm not one of those people who claims that "music is my life" simply because I own a CD and have ears, however, music does constitute a large chunk of my life. Some people have this preconceived notion that because I create music using a computer, it has to be techno. Absurd. What do you think your best personality trait would be? Aside from the fact that I've been called "perfect" by three different people (in all seriousness), I would have to say that I am generally a very friendly person. I don't go out of my way to make fun of, insult, or belittle people (unless it's extremely necessessary/fun), and I tend to help those in need. I've also been told that I have an extremely dry sense of humor. But those two traits are unrelated. Yeah.

Monsters, pretty much. They scared the beejebus out of me, and yet I just had to draw them. -
Shotgun! I shall respond shortly... --EDIT-- I'm afraid I'm going to be able to post a drawing this time, so someone else can have this one. Very sorry.
To be even more technical, Wolfmother's self-titled only was released in 2005 in Australia. It was released everywhere else in 2006, which pretty much makes it work here.
Oooooohhh!

This entire album is full of fresh, make-you-wanna-jump-up-and-dance indie rock with not only great music, vivid lyrics, and pleasing vocals, but also an energy that flows throughout. "Wolfmother" - Wolfmother Reminiscent of late 60's, early 70's rock, Wolfmother know how to play with the best of them. Crunching guitars, wailing solos, odd time signatures, and ROCK FREAKIN FLUTE, this album is definitely a do not miss. "St. Elsewhere" - Gnarls Barkley DJ Danger Mouse has done it yet again. Old skool beats with soulful vocals is a combination that anyone can love. Even if you're not a fan of the genre, there's at least one song on this album that anyone can enjoy. Best DVD Release of 2006 "Brick" - Written and Directed by Rian Johnson A modern day noir, Brick is an old idea rewritten into a fresh, new story. In this classic, who-dunit, every twist and turn will leave you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

I believe that in order to be successful, one must combine the best of both worlds. A happy medium, if you will. Those participating in the RPG should be allowed to have the freedom to do what they want, however, as the creator, you must also be able to guide them in the direction you want the story to go. Notice I said guide. The players should have some boundaries, or else the story will go nowhere fast. It's like the invisible barriers in video games (the edge of the universe). You must give the players the illusion that they can go/do what they like, when in fact you are leading them on where you please. It's just a matter of personal discretion.

Gavin, I'm sad to say that I have not read Betrayal, however, in order to keep this thread alive, I am going to bring up a subject that everyone can discuss. I discovered this video a few weeks ago, and I thought it was pretty good. Star Wars In 3 Minutes It was put together quite well, especially the editing, and I think that it is very creative overall (even if the idea has been played out before). What does everyone else think?

1991. The rave scene was at its peak, red boxing still worked, The Addams Family hit theaters (not to mention T2), not even going to go into the music... So many good things about that year. Although, '88 was the year that hip hop was hip hop... Oh well.

Does anyone know a good site/company that specializes in the sale of rare albums (vinyl records)? Besides eBay? I've been trying to find two albums, but to no avail. .................... Babe Ruth - "First Base" LP .................Broken Glass - "Style of the Street" EP If anyone knows where I could find either one, if not both, of these records, I would be more than greatful. In the style of Charles... Anyhoo, my family's really big on family history and genealogy. An excellent source would be libraries with microfilm (things), also there's a program called Family Tree Maker which is very useful for sorting things out. Hope I helped.

Otakupedia Entries/Suggestions/Discussion thread

To quote Gavin exactly, "Interesting, most interesting." This is a grand idea. Kudos to Charles. I would love to contribute to the effort in any way possible, however no methods currently come to mind. I have a few articles I'd like to see written in the future, though: + Today's Poem (Poetry Corner came first, didn't it?) + Star Wars 411 + MIA OB'ers +
Mr. Maul ~_~
+ Wasn't there a "Quote of the Day" thread? + MistressRoxie's OB Family Tree + The Reanimatrix That's all I've got thus far. Press onward! -
OtakuBoards is an island, consisting mainly of a Fifth Element/Blade Runner-esque megalopolis. Of course there are also the majestic forests, the enchanting tundra, and let us not forget the purple mountains' majesty. Island - City - Middle Earth. That's it.

The homecoming dance at my school is a big joke. Actually, all the dances at my school are jokes. Except for prom, but that's different. Only freshmen and losers go to the school dances here. Our school celebrates the same as other schools, I imagine. Special dress-up days (school colors, hex day, etc...), float building, parade, what have you. My favorite homecoming was freshman year. I don't know why, but it was. And Taperson, you're just now having homecoming?? I had mine over a month ago.

The only "gothic rock" I listen to is Malice Mizer. They also happen to be the only Japanese group I listen to as well. I love the "baroque-ness" of their music. Very heavy on the classical elements. That, and the fact that every single one of their songs is, for lack of a better word, epic. I can't say that I've ever listened to any other gothic bands. Unless... Does AFI count? Nah...

St. Catherine's, you say? Well I heard that folks from St. Cathy's tend to congregate somewheres around here. Maybe you should start by looking there.

Hmm... Did you try looking for friends, I don't know, say... here?

A song I am currently obsessed with is "Tunnels" by The Arcade Fire. It's hopefully romantic and musically great. It's just a good song overall.

I guess I'll never understand the whole Norse/Scandinavian/Viking and rock/metal fusion, but hey, that's just me. Anyhoo, you guys are quite talented, especially for having never met each other in person. You've got the whole Postal Service technique going on. My suggestion: You (plural) need to work on your EQ'ing skills or have someone else do it for you. There were many times when the guitars drowned out the vocals. Well, maybe not drowned out, but they're sharing the same frequency range so it's hard to tell what's being said. Other than that, you're pretty good. Not my cup of tea, but that still doesn't mean you're not good.
