Last movie I saw...Hmm...Let me think...Movie, movie, movie...Ah yes. The last movie that I saw was The Breakfast Club. Great movie. Excellent movie. I would go as far as to say genius movie. It made my top ten list. I think everyone should see The Breakfast club. Well, unless you're offended by profanity, drug use, or all-around-R-ratedness. Still, see it anyway.

What really kills me are the people who, get this, try to be punk. As has been stated numerous times before, especially by TOTALIMMORTAL, punk is turning into a fashion style. This is what it is not. The reason punks dress "punk" is beacause they just wear what they have available. They don't go out buying clothes thinking, "Hmm...This is sooo punk. I think I'll buy it." Sorry, but it doesn't work that way. If you want to buy "Punk" clothes, don't go to HotTopic, try Goodwill instead. Most punks grew up in the "slums" or in poor, broken families. You can see this in their music. Probably about 85% of all actual punk artists came from the poor sections of cities. You've got three major punk breeding grounds: The east coast (NYC, Boston), Chicago, and L.A. Punk music is all politics. That and youth angst. Not depressing, gothic angst, but "let's do someting about it (usually rebel)" angst.. This angst, however, is usually somehow tied in with the politics. They're not it it for the money, but to get a message out.. So, if the music that you listen to and consider "punk" doesn't fall into any or all of these categories, then it most likely isn't punk.. It's probabley something along the lines of poseur punk, or pop punk.. The song "1985" is an example of poseur pop punk, which is twice as bad as either one. I absolutely hate this song with a fiery passion. So many people think that it's punk, but guess what? ALL YOU PEOPLE ARE WRONG!!! *thinks about song and shudders* *again* *and again* One final rant (for now). Something that makes me want to go on an uncontrolable slapping spree is when a (prep) girl likes a (punk) guy, so the (prep) girl buys a bunch of ("punk") clothes, and tries to win the (punk) guy over. This happens SO MUCH at my school, and it's driving me CRAZY! What's even worse is when the (punk) guy falls for it. Oh, and don't think I'm being sexist or anything, but I have never seen it happen the other way around. I'm pretty certain that a (prep) guy would be scared of a (punk) girl. I think that proves something about preps.

Please do not double post. Just edit your first post. I agree, ::Ex-Soldier::, punk is not dead. There are plenty of legit punk bands out there. Rancid, Anti-Flag, The Casualties. They're all good bands, but it's the crap ones that give all of them a bad name.

A brief introduction to this work: This is an essay I used on my GQE. The subject was something like: "You have a CD player that your friend Raoule wants to borrow. He says that he will give you guitar lessons in exchange for it. This is known as the 'barter sytem,' which had been used for centuries. Do you think the barter system would work today? Tell why or why not. How would this affect our daily lives." Enjoi. AIDS in Africa The fact of the matter is that a country cannot revert back to the barter system effectively unless an exact exchange system has been established. Also, what would be bartered with as currency? You cannot use manufactured goods, as the producers of said goods would be wealthier beyond all belief. I suggest we use animals. You cannot manufacture animals. Actually, you can, but you would most likely never break even. Now, on the matter of exchange. The cow would have to have the highest value in America, then the sheep, the pig, the goat, and the chicken. A cow would be worth about four sheep or ten pigs or twenty goats or one hundred chickens. Two goats would go into one pig, but it would take two pigs and one goat to make a sheep. A cow could be made of three sheep, a pig, and three chickens, or five pigs, ten chickens, a sheep, and three goats.

I know what you mean. The average American high school student has no idea what punk actually is. They think that, "Oh, they spike their hair, wear bracelets and black t-shirts. They must be punk." A pair of chucks used to mean something, but now every kid and their uncle has a pair. And what's worse is people who buy generic brand chucks and call them chucks, which automatically makes them "punk." I absolutely cannot stand Good Charolette or Avril Lavigne. They are the complete opposite of what punk stands for. There are only two types of punk rockers out there: 1. The ones who want to make a change. 2. The ones who don't give a s
**
t. Of these two classifications, Avril Lavigne and Good Charolette fall into neither. Wow! Avril's cool because she sings about a prep going out with a "punk." Plus she can speak l337. Sk8r Boi!! Maybe if she...oh wait, no, she still sucks. Good Charolette "rocks" because they sing about stealing from the rich. Wouldn't that mean they'd have to rob themselves? I wouldn't go as far as to say that punk is dead. It's just that there are so many poseur punks out there that people get confused, stereotypes arise, and HotTopic makes a lot of money. The same thing applies to "Anarchists." Everyone who has ever claimed to be an anarchist has downloaded and read (most of) the "Anarchy Cookbook," most likely the one completely plaigarized by a one, mr. JollyRoger. This, in their eyes, makes them an "Anarchist." Anyway, I'll save the rest of that for when it's relevant. That's my thought and your bill comes to one penny.

Wow. How many of these threads are there going to be? Anyway, my real name is James, Jimmy C. the "C" stands for "The sound a crow makes" + "A type of pickle." I live in P-Town, Indiana (those who are from here now where I'm talking about). My birthaday's in nine days, making me seize ans. Umm...I'm going to be the first to tell you, this is not a good way to start off your membership. You should try posting this in the anime section. Welcome to the site, but did you read the rules?

I know that the submissions are over, but why should I be an orphan in some dark and dank alley? I need some parents. I'm potty trained, usually well-behaved, and require very little supervision. I won't stay out past curfew or up past my bedtime. So...any takers? I want to be adopted!

Well, I've been playing guitar for about two years now, and I have never invested money in lessons. I play by tabliture or by actual music. It's not hard to convert tabs into notes, and vice versa. Just take the string your on, example: E, and each fret is a half step, so the 5th fret would be an A. You can use this to figure out chords and such. The best thing to do is to hang out with people who play guitar and pick up pointers from them and just watch them play. That's how I got started. A lot of my friends play guitar so I thought, "Why not me?"

So What's It All About? I am trying something unique, but I'm keeping the details sketchy for now. As you should have already guessed by now, the name of the game is Operation: (the) WAL-MART, which takes place in Target. Just kidding, Wal-Mart of course. All I am saying for right now is that it's a reality show that's not what it seems. Oh, no. I have said too much already. So What Do You Need? I need a small staff of members to collaborate with. I'm in need of a banner, button, and avatar maker, someone to make non-CG pictures, and a couple people to help with some writting, as I have an over all idea of what's going to happen and other info, I just need some help with the little details. Is That It? Yes. So if you're interested, have questions, comments, let me know.

Oh. I didn't know you guys felt that way. I'm just so use to paper and pencil RPG's and having game masters that...etc. Maybe I should start an RPG on the boards with rules like that, but if there are a lot of other people on here who prefer to play the way you do, then I probably won't get much of a response.
-
Here's something you might want to take into consideration the next time you do a new version of the boards. It's for the Adventure Arena as the title states, and also the battle arena, and I believe it would help with the role playing process, make it better. I'm not sure what it's called or where to get it, but my friend says that he uses it when he role plays online. It's a die roller program. I don't know how it works, but it would improve the game (either that or hinder it greatly). It would be better than people saying that they do something or attack something when they should be rolling for successes and damage and such. I know this is just an online service and I'm not saying that you should do this or that it would work, I'd just like you to consider it. Also, something else that bothers me is when people take control of you character and make them do things in their post, such as actions, reactions, dialogue, etc. Example: Say someone is playing as Mr. Rogers or something and I'm playing as Kaine: Lord of the vampires, and it's Mr. Roger's post. I summon my trolly of doom. With a few gestures and the utterance of self-esteem boosting messages, a large storm cloud appears and lightning strikes. Where the lightning struck, the trolly is now there, glowing with a red aura. I hop aboard and yell "To the land of make believe!" and plow you over. Your body goes flying and in mid air you fire a psychic blast at me while summoning an army of undead minions. This then forces you to deal with the consequences of the attacks or actions you just made against you will. Sure this example was really lame, but it's all I could think of. I'm assuming you know what I mean. Isn't that considered godmodding? Wait. I'll find an example from an actual post. Okay, here's one by Guess? (no offence to you or your post) in the Tears of Autumn thread.
"You know the Domo faction has spies everywhere," Chasity said calmly. "You should probaly be quiet about the whole Righteous Lightning. The Domos will shoot anyone even talking about it." "So, will you take the job?" Ishi asked again. "Yes. As long as I get paid. Since I'm a friend of the Righteous Lighting, I'll even do it for a discount." They both laughed then got down to the real buisness plans.
See what I mean? Controlling two characters. Having a conversation with yourself. Whatever happened to the good ol' GM!? NPC's!?!?!? Well, that's just my feeling on the subject. I felt like ranting today. Chiao!

Wow. Is this turning into an English lesson or what? I can't complain, though, because I absolutely adore grammar and good English skills. It drives me insane to hear people talking like redneck retards, but that's just me. I hate it when people misspell words and don't care. I have to spell words right, even when I'm just taking notes. Also, something else that drives me crazy is when people use the wrong word, such as except instead of accept, or reward and award. *shudders* Enough about me, let's talk about me. I enjoy role playing and reading fantasy novels. I like sci fi, action, and fantasy movies. Actually I like most movie genres. I like listening to punk rock, techno, and a select few rap songs. I am an avid MegaTokyo fan and sometimes delve into other manga. I am a fan of text files and zines, PLA being my favorite. I watch plenty of TV, some of my favorite shows include Arrested Development, Conan O'Brien, Sienfeld, The O.C. (no, I'm not afraid to admit it), The Simpsons, and King of the Hill. I love Chinese food, Ramen Noodles (Maruchan), and FuFu Berry Jones Soda. Well, that about covers it for now. Chiao!
Hmm... I'd have to say I picture myself as if the personalities of Piro and Largo were mashed and morphed together (MT). I have Largo's wild, crazy, and wierdness, and Piro's artistic abilities, and his sensitivity. I have both their passion for gaming. Also throw in some Jason Fox. His love of sci-fi, fantasy, and his creativity. Misunderstood (not as much, really) Jack Skellington, and humorous like what's-his-name Cohen from The O.C. (not Sandy, I forget his name, brain fart). That about covers it.
"Hurry up, man." "Dude, shut up." This is a lot harder than it looks, thought the boy, attaching the alligator clips to their corresponding wires. Field hacking: A lot more work than conventional hacking, but bigger overall payoffs. The pr- ocess involved taking a regular old phone cord, replacing the head with the head with the alligator clips, and then going on a late-night stroll. These boys were on one of these strolls. A week prior, the "Dude, shut up" kid had noticed a payphone he had never seen before, while riding the bus home from school. It was tucked away in the alley between "Zhao Jiancheng's Noodles-2-Go," and "Big Bad Bill's G- uns." Chinese food and guns. Right next to each other. Only in New York. This kid, which shall now be referred to as Jonathan, immediately de- cided that this was the spot. The next day, he managed to talk his mom into eating at Noodles-2-Go. They got there at 7:00. The street lights flickered on. Jonathan and his mom were finished eating by eight. As They were leavi- ng, Jonathan took note that the light above the payphone hadn't come on. P- erfect. When the two arrived home, apartment 15b, Jonathan went into his r- oom, flipped on his computers, and IM'd his friend. 50UL FL4Y3R: i found it. us3r fri3ndl3ss: ? 50UL FL4Y3R: the perfect site. us3r fri3ndl3ss: ?? 50UL FL4Y3R: 4 a mission! us3r fri3ndl3ss: ?????? us3r fri3ndl3ss: what r u talking about? 50UL FL4Y3R: just come over u retard. us3r fri3ndl3ss: k. >:E us3r fri3ndl3ss has logged off at 8:25PM. Ten minutes later the intercom buzzed in apartment 15b. Jonathan?s mom answered it. "Hello?" "It's Nick." "Oh. Just a sec," said the mother, pressing a button on the intercom. 45 seconds later Nick was at the door, and then inside 15b. "John's inside his room...I think." "Thanks, Mrs. V." Nick walked down the little hallway to the door wi- th the upside-down American flag taped to it. "About time," said Jonathan as the door opened. "What were you rambling about earlier?" Nick asked this with a confu- sed air. "I found the perfect phone for a field mission." "Oh. Sweet." "Yeah, and it's in an alley with a busted street light." "Is it next to that one Chinese place?" "Yeah. How did you know?" "I blade there all the time. They have the best moo-goo-gai-pan." "Why didn't you tell me about it?" "I didn't think you liked moo-goo-gai-pan." "That's not...shut up. Get me my stuff so I can get the police schedule" "Fine." Nick went over to the bed and pulled out a milk crate from under it, then he opened the air vent and removed a small safe. "Armageddon-proof" read the sticker on the bottom. Small, golden, raised letters on top said "Dave." In- side the crate was a collection of CD's and a hat. "Shall we be working with the Flag or the Rage today?" asked Nick, pulli- ng out two CD's. "Umm...the Flag," said Jonathan, putting on the hat. It was an "I sailed with Long John Silver's" pirate hat. Nick popped the CD into the computer and An- ti-Flag came blaring out the speakers. Nick sat down next to Jonathan at the second computer. "While you're doing that," said Nick, "I'll play operator." With that, Nick reached for his backpack. He pulled out an old hard hat he'd swiped from a Bell truck. It had an engineer's hat ductaped on top. He also pulled out a head- set that had a Verizon sticker stuck to it. "All aboard! The 8:45 train is now leaving. I'll be your social engineer for this trip. all passengers must have their passwords, credit card, and social security numbers out and ready to be punched." At this, Nick punched the air n- ext to him, followed by a verse of "Crazy Train." "Quiet. I need concentration," said Jonathan. He slid a key into the s- lot of the safe, then put in the combination: 17-20-45. One thing left. He pres- sed down the raised text, "Dave," and the safe opened. Inside there were five f- loppy discs and one mini disc. He pulled out the floppy that read "Homework," and slipped it into the drive. Jonathan dialed the modem of the police station with his computer. "I just discovered this number a few days ago," he said, "it should help us a lot." A log-in screen appeared. Jonathan typed in "Administrator" under screen name. "All I have to do now is get the password." He opened the program on the floppy disc. When it came up, it immediately started running through words in a- lphabetical order through the password field. "This might take a while." Ninety minutes and four bottles of Jolt later... "Ugh...this is taking forever." "Hey, John, I just called my mom and told her I was spending the night." "That's good," said Jonathan lazily. Just as he said this the password generator stopped on the word "Maria." "We're in," said Jonathan with a smirk. "Now schedules, schedules, ah... schedules. Print, and here we go." "Great. Now we can see when they patrol the mission area," said Nick. "I'm going to get ready for bed." "Okay." Nick left the room. Jonathan leaned back in his chair, yawning. Just then the screen went blank; a green line flashing. "What the..." Jonathan slapped the side of the monitor. Words began to a- ppear on the screen. I know what you are planing on doing. Don't. Who are you? Don't do it. The screen clicked, and then the computer restarted.

Oh...I don't think I've ever had any dreams like that. The longest dreams I ever have seem to last a couple hours of a day (or night) and rarely a day or two. What I find interesting, though, are re-occuring dreams. I have the same dream probably two or three times a year. I always forget what it's about, but about half-way through the dream, I realize it's a dream, then I take control. It's called lucid dreaming. They did a Voyager episode about it. I usually dream in the 1.5-person, sort of half in, half out of my body. It's weird. Especially when you're somewhere one minute, then the next moment you're somewhere else, and you don't realize it until about five minutes later, but hey, it's normal. One final point: Deja Vous. Does that have anything to do with dreams? I don't believe it has anything to do with previous lives, because I don't believe in that, and no, it's not the matrix. Attention everyone: The Matrix is NOT real! What is it though? About a month ago I almost had a panic attack because I had an extreme case of deja vous. It lasted for about twenty seconds. It really freaked me out. If anyone has any comments on this, please share!

Okay, I've read about half of this thread and I am completely lost. @__@; Somebody please explain to me (in laman's terms) what the heck are you guys talking about. I sort of understand, but not really. So if someone could clear up what you're talking about for me, I'm pretty sure I could join in the convo.

My day went as well as could be expected. Got to school at 8:00, Algebra 1st hour (blah!), I hate math. To quote my friend who is in compact math, "I don't understand. How can you add letters?" Next I had percussion class, which was okay. My friend and I started planning or comedic qbasic RPG, Napoleon. It will be great. Went to lunch. Milk carton was still stuck to the bottom of the table from last week, via mashed potatoes. Had a test in Biology. Also had a sub giving the test (bounus  ). A bunch of us kept coughing really loud and saying "여보세요" Korean for hello (got it off of Arrested Development; great show). The last question on the test was an essay which I had no clue what the answer was, so I saw the word "fertilization" and "draw a diagram" somewhere in the question, so I put 2 and 2 together and got 5 (again with the algebra), and ended up drawing some diagram about where babies come from. 4th our is AP English in which we read from Jane Eyere ( ). Finally got to last hour, geography, did some stuff, bell rang, got on bus, and then it got interesting. My friend was pulling papers out of the trash can and burning them with her lighter. One of the papers started smoking really bad, so shge threw it out the window, right in front of the sherrif's car. Of course he didn't see it, so we started waving at him and he waved back, and someone flipped him off, and he didn't see it. A few minutes afteer this, the bus driver pulls over and stops the bus, comes back to the very back, and asks who did it. Everyone stays quiet, so she threatens us a bunch, and finally my friend confesses. She gets her lighter taken away, which upsets her a lot, because it was her favorite pink one, and then she gets told that she has to go to the office in the morning. I finally get home, get on qbasic, work on my Matrix screen saver a bit, which the old version is in my siggy, eat something, sleep a little bit, eat supper, watch TV, and now I'm typing this. And that was how my day was, in a nutshell .

The most annoying and over-used word out there today is "surreal." *shudders* You hear it a lot on reality shows. It's like the new word that people use to try and sound smart. "The experience was so surreal." or "It just had a surreal feeling about it." Hears a hint: go get a dictionary, look up the word "surreal," and use it accordingly. Sheesh!

Is there anything beyond "I live here"? I mean, what are you once you reach 10,000 posts, though it is not likely?

I love there music. There use of effects pedals is second to none, but I'd have to agree with what everyone else is saying. They may say they're raging against the machine, but they're actually helping it prosper.

Oh yeah, that's right. I forgot I've seen Pearl Harbor. That was a good movie. I saw it in the theater. Good, but too long.

I like playing Risk II on the computer. I also find Axis and Allies very fun. I like the strategy involved with these games.
