2. I dont care about the maturity level of a game, I just play what I enjoy, I play Animal Crossing still and am not ashamed, I dont need to play bloody gore games to make me feel mature
3. I've seen some pics from the game and liked them all, especially the old characters like Espio are now in the game......wOw
4. His characters are in his sig.....hehehe so are my main two, although i have one character for every type (all 12!)I dont have a set time of going on though.....normally when I am on, i go to Vega/5-7
5. I just heard that this game was announced. It is supposed to be a card game, from what you can see here: what I'm wondering is, will it still be the same game, where you fight in real time but you also have the card battle option, or will it be only card battles? Looks interesting whatever the direction they are aiming for
6. You only get the free 30 days after you make an account, but the biling doesnt come till the end of the 2nd month (the first after the free one), which means you have 2 months of free in a way....
7. 8 players Starwars sounds like the next best thing to Galaxies.......:)
8. Why oh why is it back and forth between PSO and SA2B (although i like both games!).......You must raise a Hero chao for the Hero Garden, and a Dark chao for the Dark garden...... What was in Zelda:Link's Awakening DX that wasn't in the original?
9. Hero, Neutral, Dark What future GameCube game was advertised in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle?
10. I wish we could begin to get a monthly GameCube Magazine with periodical Demo Discs released...
11. It's already out (dont get it if your a PSO player (; ) The new one is named after it's European version, Action Replay. Lets just hope its really as hard to make our own codes as they say it will be, or im gonna be mad......All they have to do is make it require a hardware part that plugs into the modem slot, and online games are saved, but I guess they dont care how many servers their customers hack....
12. Japanese people are less concerned bout the name of games, they are just hyped when they get English named stuff, like Pocket Monsters had to be changed to Poke' Mon to make it seem less cheezy to americans, if you know what i mean
13. Want me to just reveal the answer?
14. the only reasons why i want one (yes i know the other features are great, but they dont do anything for me....) is the folding feature, cuz its compact and protects the screen, and the rechargin batteries
15. Thx for the great tips, but thats not all, please, anyone else who hasnt givin their ideas, please feel free to put them down!
16. Im saying if you want to say something that is more bad than good, not necessarily an insult, the fact that youd say it to me makes me not respect you enough to even care what you say. I dont mind criticizing, but critics tend to be negative.
17. OK, i never played FF VII(i do regret it), so what is this Materia thing
18. All this started was with a simple difference of interpretation, I use, as well as many aspiring game developers, the word cel-shading to mean the black outline around a character, calculated or faked. What i was saying was that i though in the original Viewtiful Joe topic, since you were talking about black outlines, when you said Zelda WW uses cel-shading, you meant the same cel-shading i know it as, which Zelda does not use. All I said was that it uses (maybe saying that it isnt realtime light isnt the word, i meant that it is still calculated in realtime, but it doesnt fade from the darkest point on an object to the lightest point, as in real life and other realtime shaded games, instead it has as you said, inadvertantly proving me right, when you talked about Link's face either being light or dark) the type of shading that involves individually calculateing an objects color schemes, so that it doesnt have a realistic look, more like a water coloring. Also, even if you dont take this as an ending to the discussion, I really dont care to talk about it anymore. I'll continue to use cel-shading as a term for just black outline, as long as people know what im talking about, I really dont care... infact the word Toon Shading, was oringally used to talk about the calculated cel-shading, not the fake inverted mesh used in lower end game consoles. Say what you will, but im not the kind of person who really cares what others think, when its somewhat negative, be it right or wrong, if someone wants to insult me, their the kind of person that their opinion matters little to me. Also this tidbit from GameSpy.com may give you some food for thought about naggin at be about "cel-shading" and "Toon Shading" being the same thing:
GameSpy.com: Using "Toon Shading" to render the characters, objects, and environments, the visual style is not so much akin to the popular cel-shaded trend, but rather it's more like a living cartoon. Subtle color palettes and smooth texturing give Link and his world a truly believable fantasy setting. 19. Cel shading is when you put a black outline around an object, dont mess with me buddy, im a game developer, i know the lingo..... IM not trying to start a flame war, i just wanted to let you know that yes, cel-shading is when you make an object have a black outline, what does samurai jack have to do with this??! Yes it makes it cartoony, but cartoony look doesnt mean its cel-shading, zelda gets its cartoony look from Toon-Shading, where it use realtime lighting like other games whereas it fades from the brightest point on the object to the darkest point, it just has a plain line, everything on one line is darker than ever thing on the other side ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cel shading, is, i repeat, is when the models have a black out line around them, I know that Toon-shading is another word for cel-shading, but thats the only term i could think of for the lighting. Look at Jet Grind Radio, it had NO LIGHTING, no shading, but it was "cel-shaded" as in it had a black outline around it, cel-shading doesnt mean cartoony effects, if it were that ambiguous, we might as well just say the game is "cartoony". I dont know what your talking about modifying the textures, its just textures, they got the lighting worked out so that everything that the light was shining on is the same brightness and everything thats not, the same shade-"ness", So that you get a definite line of shading as you see in many newer cartoons. Ive been (and been one myself) talking to game developers too long to let someone tell me that i dont know what cel-shading is! Combined the double post. - Desbreko
20. just a little factoid, but zelda doesnt use cel shading except for one enemy that i dont know the name! Cel-shading is when the model has a black outline around it, zelda just uses a light shading tecnique that gives it a water color or cartoony look.
21. Give me some lists of things that generically (like something that isnt only for one game, like say um .hack//'s Data Drain), that make a RPG great. Don't use things that just lead to hype and not actuall coolnes of the game, like graphics do sometimes......just cool elements that make games unique......
22. On a note of games being good for all audiences, yes Zelda: Wind Waker may look cartoony, but thats a grand art form, have you ever seen a game that stands out that much, you may say so, but all the other games i see dont have anything special to add to the looks other than polygonal detail, and that my friends doenst require as much skill as you think, you can just get a smoothing application, and with the right setup of polys, you get a very detailed model.....also, you may think that WW is childish, but younger children that you think it is for really cant play that game that well at first, thats whats great about nintendo games, their masterpieces of challenging gameplay--in desguise!
23. I have no idea where my confusion of the posts came from.......ok......heres the only question i could think of (dont answer, SD, i know you know this......) In Phantasy Star Online Epside I&II, what do all the red weapons(Red saber, red handgun) letters spell out? Each weapon says that there is a letter carved in it......what is the name that they make?
24. Um.......... Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, Amy, Big, Froggy(if you think he's important), Chaos, Dr. Eggman/Robotnik, E-102, Bean, Fang, SuperSonic, HyperShadow, HyperKnuckles, Rouge, Tikal, Tikal's Dad on Angel Island, some guy in the comic strip named Nate Morgan, dont know the names (the characters Princess Sally, Bunny Rabbot, and Antoine from the Sonic show did appear in the comic strip, so i will include them but with that note) Play shenmue, theres some more Sonic characters hidden in there as toys, thats where i found Bean and Fang
25. PSO will never go to PS2 though, they hate the idea that multi mode will require you to buy 4 controllers as well as a multi tap ( i mean come on was it that hard to not be selfish idiots, and put 2 more controller slots, but no "we have to make money off of our gay multi tap!")
