Which probably wont be finished until this time next year. Which really sucks. I hate how you have to WAIT for stuff to come out. I don't think I'll ever see Paradise Kiss volume 5...*sighs* I don't really like the music on the TV series that much either. The only music that really sticks out to me is the pornographic/sexual music that always plays. I think it's hilarious. And it took a while for the theme song to grow on me. Now I sound like I'm complaining! But no, I really do like Chobits, even though I don't like love stories. (<--- So that's how you know it's got to be good! Right?) I havent read all of the manga(I have a pre-order for the deluxe edition of the last volume :D ) But I have seen the entire anime series in subs... Its just alot goofier and doesnt pull at your heartstrings quite as much as the manga does...They made hideki way too silly in the anime... And while the anime copies alot of the love scenarios they dont have the emotional resonance they posess in the manga... I agree with the fact that its a little watered down, but I still like both. The anime is slowly developing the plot the manga already has, yet the anime is less serious. Also it's freakin hilarious and the characters are great. I don't know how anyone could not like Chobits. If anyone says that they don't like Chobits then i want to know why. I own a complete set of both and I have to say that the manga is better cause it has a better story. The series is good but they had to add like 3 eps that had nothing to do with nothing... The only thing that was good about them is that they had Chi in them and they were funny(like the rest of the series) I will say that I love watching the anime cause I don't have to read...I hate to read but the manga had me hooked for 3 days after work... and I was so enthralled with it!! I thought it was a cute story, but sometimes it just seemed like it was trying too hard. Trying to be funny, or trying to be serious, but not quite getting things right. It was entertaining, though not really one of my favorites. I think the best part of the series, in my eyes, was just watching Sumomo and Kotoko interact. I mostly watch it for it's humor . I haven't seen any of the manga and have no clue where to buy it but if I did see it then I would definatly get it . All though they are Super. Chobits is really just the code name that Elda and Freya's Father nick-named them. It really is a Plural word (meaning more then one) "Chobi" means Little and "Chobits" means more then one Little... Kind of dumb but that is what their Father called them. Thus came the rumer of the Chobits. gwynva Posted August 24, 2005 Share Posted August 24, 2005 I've never seen the manga but the anime despite the interesting plot bored me to death sometimes, especially the search for the underwear store, the never-ending monologues of hidaki and chi's irritating behaviours. And yet i could not just put the anime out of my reach of sight as well, because chi is really cute and the neighbour shinbo too. I am determined to watch the series as a whole but if it goes on like this it can take ages. Hope the anime gets better...For the manga i became really curious as how better it is.. I must say that I can't wait for the third and fourth DVDs (which come out soon). The development of Chi has been quite fun to watch, as has the attempted soliloquys of hideki. Only cause the manga tells more and the anime could tell more if the took out some of the eps that don't really have anything to do with the story... Like, there is an eps in witch Shimbo is talking to Sumomo about what all has happend to Chii.... All that does is tell you what you already know.... But in the manga they tell more of the story about Chii and Her mom. And the relationship that she had with her sister. And also why she was in the trash.....
