I own and have read the first 2 mangas. At first I really loved Chi.....but after readung volume 2.....I'm starting to hate her and I hope she doesn't get together with Hideki. I like Yumi way to much, and I feel so bad for her...being repleaced by persocoms....>.<

Anyway, Chobits always brings a smile to my face anyway. The first one was hilarious, and the second was funny, too, but I was too involved by starting to hate all the Persocoms and Chi to think it was all THAT funny..... O.o Nah....it was still pretty funny, though. ^^

OH! I love chobits. I have the first two volumes of the manga and I adore it to absolute death. I LIKE Chi, especially Dark Chi, the one that is like the other her. She's so PRETTY. I want their clothes. CLAMP draws the best clothes. And also, I don't LIKE Yumi. I WANT Chi and Hideki together because that's what Chi's supposed to do...find the person who is her true love and I think that is so sweet. I don't HATE all persicoms, but I don't particularly like them. Except for Chi and Memnoru's (Or WhatEVER his name is..) the one that's supposed to be his sister...

I want Yumi and Hideki to get (stay, actually) together, but that probably won't happen. I feel so bad for Yumi, she always looks to sad when Hideki expresses feelings for Chi. I mean, she really likes Hideki, and she's gonna be replaced by that machine?! I couldn't help it, but I started to hate Chi because of how bad I felt for Yumi. >.< Chi's cute and all....but I'm almost sick of her stupid reactions and everything. I hope she starts acting more real soon....

I haven't seen the anime, but the manga's pretty good. it's really sweet, and I love the little storybook sections with the rabbit-looking thing. that part's rather depressing, but very good IMO. and yeah, they really didn't need to make it as perverted as they did, but it could definitely be worse. overall I like Chobits a lot, or at least what I've read of it (3 or 4 volumes, not sure how many there are in all though).

It uhh... looks rather funny. And I find it rather funny that the main character has a thing for porno sites.... AND like al of them are really cute, but yeah... lol I probably shouldn't base my opinion on that.

The plot seems interesting enough. Kinda deals with prejudice. How can you treat a non-living thing like a human... you can't fall in love with something like that, yet he does. My guess is he learns the lesson of transforming from pervert to romantic. Seems to happen alot in short comedy/drama animes. If I had all the episodes (which I could easily get but I'm just too lazy to get them) I'd watch it.

I saw this anime, and I don't find it that bad. They don't have much action, but there is a lot of comedy and plot.

I suppose that I liked it. They could have done without the perverted stuff, but it only made up a small portion, and it could have been worse. It's not like they showed anything...but then, I didn't see all of them yet.

Anyway, the series is about a guy who used to live in a farm, and is now introduced to this big town with robots called Chobits, hence the name of the series. Usually, people get these chobits to do chores around the house, and don't really have to do any work anymore. Well, this guy, I believe he is taking a class there, he moves in and finds a Chobit in the garbage. So, the rest of the anime deals with his interaction with this robot, and "her" interaction in the real world. It's pretty interesting. :)

From what I've heard, I don't think that there are too many eps of the anime out, so I reccomend getting it. As for the manga, check the price and stuff; I don't usually buy manga so I'm not an ideal person estimate the price and tell you if it's worth it.

I was wondering if anyone could give me some info on the anime/manga called Chobits. All i know is that its about 5 robot girls or something like that and it takes place in the near future. Could someone give me a little extra info?

o_O;;;;;;I don't think it's about five robot girls.

Well the main chacter finds a Chobit named Chi in the dump.A Chobit is like a personal robot.

Will Chi has no files in her,and the main chacarter must now teacher her everything.

I think it is a drama kinnda thing, like Love Hina, but with out all the girls. From what I have heard it is good, and I will start reading it after....

I go and buy Furi Curi DVD box.

*Runs off to buy box*

Edit:There I fixed it OtakuSennen:p

Hehe, it's about this failing college student (Either that or high school, I really haven't read it) named Hideki who just moved to the big city from a small town, and he is amazed by all of the robots that look like young girls who help their human masters with various things. These are called Persocoms.
A Chobit is actually a "Super persocom" that has a different effect on other persocoms.. Chi happens to be one of them.
He doesn't have the money to buy a persocom, but he finds Chi in the trash, and all she can say to begin with is the word "Chi." :p This is really, REALLY not for most kids.. There's a ton of adult stuff in it (but just nudity, nobody ever really does anything, as far as I know) and they've got some pretty harsh language in it at points... But the manga is worse.. So I hear. -_- Hope that helped! ^_^

From what i've red some on ditched chi at a dumpster behind the resturaunt where hideki works. Hideki takes here home but drops the inofrmation disk for chi. Later on chi finds that she has a different persionality that bugs her about being with hideki. Of course like i've said this from what i've red about it.

Alright, here's the rundown from someone who's read the manga and seen the anime and recommends the manga.

Hideki finds Chi in a dumpster. I think most of you understand that. He struggles with feelings towards her and she is mostly trying to figure out her own. Because she runs without an OS, she is suspected to be this urban legend called a Chobit. It's a pretty mature series with lots of mature situations, but yeah. I love it and the artwork is beautiful.

I HIGHLY recommend it.

I persoanlly have to agree wiht QA on the info about this series. But not only does it provide provoking thoughts for the main character it also can direct them towrds you. I mean from reading the Chobits manga I actually feel what the main characters, Hideki and Chi are feeling, but thats something you may see or feel when you read it yourself...

Also has anyone( reffeing to QA) read Vol 7? Give me a lil info on it, I'll be buying it next week!!!

All I have to say about Chobits is that
1) people under the age of 12 should NOT read it.
2) It's full of nakee people!!
3) It's just plain nasty and perverted.
4) But if you like it, rent or buy GolGo 13!!

NAKEE!!!!!
I disagree with 2 and 3. I have read 1-6 of the manga and it is not full of naked people! Persocoms are human shaped computers, yeah there are guy ones too...plus little plushie doll ones. Anyways, I bet you know about the trash thing pretty well by now. It is pretty much about Chi finding out about her past, and finding her and Hideki's true feelings toward eachother.

Yes, it is a bit on the mature side with some nudity and language, but it is very funny at times. I most certainly recommend it to anyone!

I think we've established what Chobits IS by now, so I won't go into that. But it's not disgusting! Yes it does have some nudity (actually there isn't that much complete nudity in what I've read of it, though it has some underwear shots and skimpy outfits), but that has nothing to do with the plot. And the nudity is mostly because Chi is very, VERY naive at the beginning, and doesn't know any better.

I'm in the middle of buying the rest of the manga, because I like this series a lot. It rocks! There is some language and some mature themes (the end of Volume 2...GEEZ...) but it's really funny and I recommend it to anybody! (assuming they're over 13)

I was just wondering if anyone else was following along both storylines besides me? I think this is possibly my favorite series at the moment, so I'm quite interested in others opinions.

The manga that is released so far is the seventh out of eight. As for DVDs, the fourth out of seven is being released next Tuesday. I have all three DVD and all seven volumes of the manga.

Personally, I like the manga better. The storyline is more serious with alot of adult content and a bit of humor every now and then. There are lots of plot twists and turns and alot of things that make you really surprised. I was immediately into the series after just one volume. It's really surprising what you find out in volume seven about Chi's (and Dark Chi's) origins.
I absolute LOVED it...Freya and Elda...such beautiful names for such beautiful sisters. It was really sad that Freya's "Someone just for her" was her own "father." But it was beautiful, nonetheless.
As for the TV series, I think it's a little bit watered down. I think they should have just stuck with the original manga content, but they add all these funny episodes/scenarios that take away from the seriousness of what the manga is. Such as the episodes with Plum and Chi trying to find the panty store or the episode with the haunted apartment. They were pretty much pointless. And the stories are all mixed up as well. I wish it would just follow the manga!

Oh well, I truly enjoy both. Chi is becoming my all time favorite anime character.
Of course, I enjoy the aspect of Elda AND Freya, so I guess they are BOTH becoming my favorites.
So what are your opinions on either the TV series or the manga? Or preferably both?

I'm afraid I've yet to see the Anime, but from everything I hear, I guess I should make the effort. The manga is one of my favorites though! The artwork is just stellar, I find myself going back over pages I've read, looking for details I might have missed in the illustrations. (And no, not just -those- illustrations! ?_?) I'm also happy with how they've structured the story arcs in the manga, taking their time in revealing more of Chi's *ahem* history, and abilities.

As I've said before, I'll be first in line to trade in my Mac, when the Persocom Chobits hit the market! ?_?

Well, overall, I usually like anime better for some reason, but I'm 50/50 on this topic.

The manga does get very serious towards the end, while the TV show is always making me laugh. ^_^ Music plays a huge part for me when I watch anime, and I can't say there's many songs I like in the Chobits animated series. The theme song was very catchy, but I don't like it too much.

I have not seen the whole anime series, though, only about four episodes.
