[i]Legend tells of a time long ago, before the age of Man, when monstrous beasts were in control. These creatures possessed unimaginable power. There were none that could challenge them, and they ruled for thousands of years. However, they were not at peace with wach other. These great beasts hated and feared each other. They fought and killed each other. When the fighting ceased, none remained. The power of these beasts flowed into the land, into the creatures that inhabited it. Creatures who bore the resembalence of the dead beasts. Thus, the ones we know as dragons were born.

That was a time seemingly impossibly far in the past to have any relavance. But it does indeed matter, for one of those great beasts did not die in battle, but later. it was the only survivor, but was too badly injured. It could not save itself. What it could do was seal itself away, letting tme pass before the seal broke and it returned to rule over all.

The beast's seal has weakened throughout the ages. The only thing keeping it from breaking is the Asestis. Nobody knows what the Asestis is, or how it was created. All that's known is that it keeps the beast sealed away. It's also assumed to hold the key to the beast's permanent destruction.

The only people who still know the truth of this live in a small village. This village, bulit over the Cave of the Asestis, periodically send small groups of willing individuals out to discover the secrets of he Asestis and find a way to destroy the beast for good.[/i]



All right, hope that wasn't too confusing. Basically, there's a seal keeping a very powerful creature locked up. The seal is weak, but there is an artifact called the Asestis that prevents it from breaking. Asestis Village, the existance of which is not know to anybody outside of it, is built over the cave where the Asestis is located. periodically, young men and women set out to find a way to destroy the beast for good.

Now, the first step in this journey is the Asestis itself. These young people enter the Cave of the Asestis as the first step in their journey. The Asestis, the purpose of which seems to have something to do with the beast's eventual destruction, is supposed to point these people towards the means to destroy the beast for good. None have successfully found this means, but that doesn't mean Asestis Village is giving up.

The Asestis does one other thing. It aids the people chosen for the journey. It's always something attainable no other way. Some people are partnered up with young creatures, like dragons or gryphons or other such creatures. Others gain elemental powers. There are many other gifts, of course. These people then set out, attempting to find the means to destroy the beast for good.

She can be fierce at times and she has mood swings quite often. Though Sakura enjoys making new friends and is quite open to people she meets, but judges a lot on first impressions.

[b]Weapon: [/b]A doubled bladed scythe. A big blade pointing one way at one end of the rod and a smaller one pointing in the other direction on the other side of the rod. She can hurl it like a boomerang and leap back (to avoid getting hit by rhe ither end) and watch it fly into the targets.

[b]Personality:[/b] Quiet. She keeps secrets but not for reasons some might think. She is kind and caring once you get to know her. She gets flirty at times as well. And other times her language is just a bit over the line. Very hard to pinpoint an exact personality with so many different attitudes.

[b]Bio:[/b] No one knows much about her except for herself and shes not talkin.

[b]Gift:[/b] Nida gets the gift of elemental power. Like Laqara below Nida too is changed in appearance once she gets the gift. Unlike laqara Nida goes a bit different. Ill describe. Once she changes she is no longer human. She may look similar to the picture above but her skin now is dark red with bright glowing red lines, like cracks, all over her. She looks like cooling lava. Her hair looks as though it IS fire just burning upside down. She is no longer bothered by heat. Only intense freezing conditions bother her.

As for actual powers... Well fire of course. She can, as her powers progress, start and control fires. Later she can even make thefire take theshapeof things. She can also sense andsee the heat in peoples bodies and animals too. She can also make things heat up, even without the use of fire.

Well, it is a similar concept, but it's not the same RPG. I have a few twists planned. Oh, both of you are in.

Now, I forgot a couple things. First, I want to make it clear that our characters don't have the full power of their gifts as soon as they recieve them. Instead, the powers will develop over time as our characters learn to use them.

Second, I forgot weapons. Specify your character's weapon preference in your sign-up (Medievil (sp?) weapons only, please (swords, bows, etc.). No modern weapons). Blanko and Sakura, please edit a weapon into your sign-ups.

Okay, three things. Here's number three: our characters have no clue what their gifts will be until they actually recieve them.



All right, here's my sign-up:


Name: Laqara

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Appearance: Laqara is pretty much exactly six feet tall. She has shoulder-length black hair, and blue eyes. She's in very good shape physically, though not what anyone would call beutiful. Nobody would ever think of her as ugly, though. Good-looking, but not what people would consider truely beutiful.

Weapon: A pair of bladed staffs.

Personality: Laqara's a very determined person. Once she starts doing something, she's going to finish it. Even though she seems laid back at times, she always does her best. She tends to be critical of people she doesn't think are doing their best. She's a little paranoid, but not to the degree of thinking everyone is out to get her. She's just a bit suspicious of strangers. She's very skilled with her staffs, and will not hesitate to kill anyone who's a threat.

Gift: Laqara obtains elemental abilities of water, but with a twist that's unique, as far as she knows. Instead of simply gaining elemental powers, Laqara is... altered. She is changed by the elemental energy, becoming something else, a being not human. This has both advantages and disadvantages.

The advantages of this change include the ability to actually see water in any form, from water as a gas in the air to the water inside people and animals. Also, her skin toughens significantly, functioning more as a hide. And as her powers develop, she will become able to temporarily shift herself into a liquid state. The most noticeable disadvantage of the change is that she no longer appears human. Anyone who sees her will know that she is not human.

Laqara's actual water-element powers are pretty standard elemental powers. She can manipulate water to an extent, and will become more able to do so as her powers develop. She can also create imited abounts of water, and the amount she can create will increase as her powers develop. She also has the ability to breate underwater.

Weapon: Sword, as seen in appearance. Named BlightKnife

Personality: Pherelle has an ironically dark personality, the irony is obvious. He looks at everything as if it has no chance of success, and he is often very depressed and annoyed. If somone asks him a stupid question, talks to him atall even, he usually gives them a look of disdain and goes back to the task at hand. The only upside to this personality is that he doesn't see any reason in stopping, so after starting a task he usually trudges on until it's finished.

Gift: Shadow Replicas. Pherelle is capable of creating fake versions of himself. They can be used for scouting, distractions, intimidations, pretty much anything a shadow can do. The only way to tell the difference between the replicas and Pherelle is that the replicas have dark, downcast eyes all the time. It's hard to tell the difference.

Bio: Pherelle grew up around people who earned the name "Bright." It was partly because everyone he knew had a certain... Sunny disposition, cuppled with his love of uniqueness, that he became the rather depressing, hopless figure that he became. However, because all of his family looked down upon swordplay, again with his strive to be unique, he became a rather talented swordsman. He became famous in the village for the incredibly powerful "Gauntlet" technique, which involved a rather dazzling parry, finished with a devestating blow from the wicked gauntlet mounted on his right hand. BlightKnife became rather feared, as anyone who questioned Pherelle's depressing logic would often get a taste of it. [/COLOR]

SadBlue, just one problem. Creating physical duplicates is a bit too much. Everything else is fine, including the rest of your gift, but please remove the ability to create physical duplicates. Do that, and you're in.

Appearance: Slightly taller then average. Light brown hair that comes about to her waist. Shapely. Shes pretty strong for her age, but dosn't look it. Soft features, she looks exotic.

Weapon: Bow and Arrow. For close-up combat she uses her fists and a small knife she always carries.

Personality: She is a very outgoing person and is not afraid to speak her mind. When she talks she has a heavy accent. When she was young she kept to herself.
Always willing to make a joke about someone her attitude often gets her in trouble with her elders and authorities.

Gift: Hmm... Alright, Light. Besides the usual blast she can blind people or confuse them.

Appearence: Stocky and short, yet gracefully porportioned, he looks perfect, aside from being short. His hair is styled like a bowl cut, and it is white in color. His eyes are a deep red color, like human blood. He has a '7' tattoed on his neck.

Weapon: he has blades concealed within himself, and they pop through his flesh when he is fighting. He also controls the powers of water and ice.

Personality: He's very withdrawn, as if he is afraid to make contact with others. He's afraid they will get to know him, thouroughly. He is afraid they'll hate him for his powers. He pretends to be very aloof, but the truth is, he's very sensitive.

Gift: More like a curse, he has blades concealed within himself, and they pop through his flesh when he is fighting.When his jaded flesh no longer bears his blades, the wounds from them heal in seconds. He is very fast and agile, and a genious.

[Roxas]

Name: Amon Steed

Age:16

Gender: Male

Weapon: One long-sword and one short-sword.

Apperance: Amon is 6'4"and is well built. His eyes are a very dark emarld, and his hair is blond and shoulder length. He wears a black t-shirt, and black baggy pants. On his back is a tatoo of a pheonix.

Personality: Amon is a quite type. He likes to be alone, or if he is in the presence of others, he keeps to himself. When he does talk, he doesn't say much; mostly one word answers, or a very short sentence. And since he has a short temper, when he's pissed it isn't a good idea to be around him, or on his bad side.

Bio: Optional

Gift: The ability to transform into a chimera. Doing this makes him... well... more primal. Also it increases his physical combat, speed, and senses of sight, smell, touch, and earing; but it lowers his mental capacity, and ability to communicate.

[B]Personality:[/B] Jiu is very bubbly and always active. Very few things can get under her skin, but the things that do can drive her insane. She rarely gets angry, but can still be annoyed often. She has a habit of taking things personally, when she really shouldn't.

[B]Gift:[/B] Jiu gained the ability to manipulate the air and wind around her. All she can do at first is speed herself up for easy escape. As she gets better at controlling her power, she can make herself float, and eventually fly. She'll learn ways to to suffocate others, lift heavy objects, summon large amounts of wind, and surround herself in a little "bubble" that can let her breathe in areas with little to no air (ie. underwater).

Age: 15
Gender: Female
Appearance: Shapely, with long blond hair, and bright green eyes. About 5' 3" tall. Not particularily muscular.
Weapon: Throwing Stars (shuriken)
Personality: Breea is rather determined, and often talks to herself when attempting to solve a problem. She's smart, and is an optimistic pessimist(in other words she prepares for the worst and hopes for the better). She is compassionate and will even help her enemies, to a point.

EDIT: Gift: Telekinesis: The ability to move things with her mind, at first it is something small, pebles and such, but eventually, with mastery of her powers, she will be able to pick up and move larger objects and stop moving objects.
