Mine is Dolly the Sheep, because she was a true pioneering spirit that paved the way for us latter clones to have a better chance at regular life. If it weren't for the advancements in cloning made possible by Dolly's never-say-die spirit, I wouldn't be here today.

It is sad she has departed, but I will never forget her and all she accomplished for clonekind. Rest your soul Dolly, you're in a better place now.

Terry Fox. The bravest man to ever live, bar none.

Loses his leg to cancer at the age of 18. What's he do? Does he sit there and mope about it, or try and use it to get life easy? Nope. He decides to run across Canada, from St. John's, Newfoundland, to Victoria, BC. On one leg.

He aimed to spread awareness and raise money for cancer reaserch; people came out in droves to cheer him on and give money to the cause. He got all the way to Thunder Bay (About half-way across the country) before his cancer spread to his lungs and forced him to stop. He died June 28th, 1981, just 22 years old.

Every year since then, in Canada and in places around the world, the Terry Fox Run is held to raise money for cancer reaserch. Obviously, you're not running 6,000 klicks across the country, you're running as much as you can and donating money to the cause. Since it's inception, over 340 million dollars have been raised for cancer reaserch; last year alone, over 32 million were raised, accomplishing Terry's dream of raising one dollar for every Canadian.

And that's why Terry Fox is my hero. I'm always surprised when people outside of the country tell me they've never even heard of him.

They've probably never heard of him because Canada sucks.

 Joking.

-----------------------------------

At the risk of sounding corny and/or mushy, my father. I am extraordinarily blessed to have the most awesome father on the face of the planet. Because of him I have an ingrained sense of respect for anyone at least twenty years my senior, a solid musical background in both classical and jazz (which, in an interesting side-note, is kind of rare from what I've seen?most classically oriented people I know are quite square, and the reverse is sometimes true as well), and a knowledge of where exactly The Line is and when to/when not to cross it. He's also been involved at some level with every baseball team I've ever played on, and though he was skinnier at my age than I am, he could probably knock me senseless through sheer brute force.

And he's not bald; his hair's silver at 46.

If there are any Kendoka_Wannabes out there, please look away.

The hero in my life is my Beloved Sensei, Sensei Pete. He has been the closest thing to a father that I've ever had. I can talk to him about anything and everything. He's the only adult cool enough to be called one. In my opinion, anyway.

My hero will forever and always be the Knight of the Night... Batman.

I mean, Batman is the only real hero. He doesn't need super powers to save Gotham. He's just insanely rich and a ladiesman. Everyone's perfect idol. :)

uhh, duh... It's Captain Planet. It even says it in the opening song. "Captain Planet... He's our hero. Gonna take those bad guys down to zero" Jeez, I thought that would be obvious.

But a close second would be Rocky DeSantos, the 2nd Red Power Ranger! or Squee from JTHM! To endure all that hardship from psycho neihbors, evil grandpas, butt-probing aliens, and even worse, Squee should be everyone's hero. (after Captain Planet of course)

But in all seriousness: My role model (not so much hero) is Robin Williams and a close second as Johnny Depp. I love them both as actors, (As an aspiring actor, it's good to have inspiration) and I will literally watch anything they play in. Even if it's porn. (I have yet to see that, but I stand by my word) KIDDING! However, if what they play in is god-awful/terrible, I won't hesitate to tell them. (But they never seem to hear me)

My smile waned when I saw this. "Captain Planet, he's our hero, gunna take pollution down to zero, gunna help us put asunder; bad guys who like to loot and plunder!"

Anyway, my heroes are all dead  Well okay, that's not wholly true. Kouhei Kodano could probably come close to being one. He writes my favorite novel series starting with favorite novel of all time, Boogiepop and Others. Beyond that he is rediculously prolific, lol. I think I just admire his ability to write something that, at least to me, is so meaningful, and I wish I could write like him - or as much as him XD

Also, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez. Even though he seems like he'd be real full of himself, the Mars Volta guitarist is a complete genius. Not only does he write all of the insanely complicated pieces of music that perfectly intwine to create their music, but he's one of the greatest guitarists out there today.

:animeshy: Awww. Now you've made me feel bad. But It's not like I've seen that show in years... :( I think I'm gonna go litter now! :animecry:

My hero is, um...this is going to sound corny, but my older sister. She may be a bit dumb sonetimes, and a bit crazy as well, but what the hell. She's my hero mainly because she doesn't take crap from nobody despite her small stature. She is funny and weird. Plus she's not exactly "adult material". She has her inner child, which greatly differs her from the rest of the people in her age category.

Oh yeah also Batman. The mysterious man in black tights who scores with all the ladies. I wish I had his charms, lol.
