Ladies of London (font assistance)

I thought I'd make use of this forum for some suggestions.

I am currently thinking about a new RPG and I want to make a logo for it but I'm not happy with my current font. At this stage I have few fonts on my computer (as I just got a new one recently and haven't really added any new fonts).

Here is the current work in progress:

I want to retain the black and white style and the image of the woman (who is the main character in the story).

But I really need a new logo. I want to keep "Ladies of" small on the top and "London" in much bigger letters underneath. But beyond that, I'm really not sure what font to go with. I thought I'd open it up for suggestions.

So please feel free to edit this with your own ideas - it might trigger some inspiration!

Really James, why would you want to change this, seriously?
Since dafont.com is down and out with server trouble this morning I scratched around for something that seemed to fit in with the image. Without straying too far from your base font, I found one called Maranallo

Hope you like it. I'll have another scrounge around for better fonts, but Maranallo just seemed to suit the idea of 'London'.
Can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with.
I wasn't certain of what kind of font you were looking for, but I used two from my computer that felt like they fit the image. The fonts are Desdemona and Bleeding Cowboys.
I think the first one works really really well, but I just felt like pointing out that an American theme like 'Bleeding Cowboys' would be rather ironic set against Ladies of London :p though it still looks good - one of my favorite fonts.

Not bad, not bad.

On the one hand I sort of feel I need a classical font...but I want fairly bold/easily defined letters.

I mean the style could go anywhere. This RPG is set in the future, despite the fact that the fashion will have hints of 19th century design.

Some key words that might help with font decisions:

Excitement, reality television, futuristic, dystopia, violence, frenzy.

Back again with another font. This time it's called STEAK.

But brother, you nailed it. That's as good as it gets. Georgia is the ideal font, all-upper cased letters is the best variant, and that's all there is to it. I was about to post something up my own version when I realized it was almost identical to the one you have right now.

I mean, you could try making "Ladies of" all lower case just to see how that looks, but in general you've done a great job already.

I think what you have is actually pretty much the best you can get while not changing anything drastic, however I gave it a shot anyway. I added a gradient, stroke and outer glow to spice things up, hah. :)

Kind of reminds me of a Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century, lol.

I just can't resist playing around in Photoshop. Practice is good for you, ne? ... Which makes me wonder why I haven't gotten any further/better :p

Since the second version's "London" has color in it I decided to not make the first one a yummy orange. But it looked tasty, let me tell you.

I kept trying to make one but the program kept closing. >.< I was using the font "Crazy Crazy" from dafont.com, and I used the exact same placing you did, only I had the top part "Ladies Of" and the bottom all caps. You can try it out yourself if you'd like, but I thought it looked good.

Retribution and White are right; you've already got a great looking logo. However, even though I agree I chose to create a little something-something anyways.

Anyways, not sure why but I'm not too fond of my "LONDON" right now. I may fix it later with a different font. In the meantime, here's this one.

If you want readable text, I think fonts with flat, tapered serifs are the way to go. The blocky slab serifs of the font you used (Sylfaen?) look rather off when set against the soft, curvy lines of the background picture.

I would use plain ol' Garamond or Sanford for "London"; they're wider than Georgia or Sylfaen and have nearly-circular O's (very nice, IMO). Minion at 85% its normal height looks lovely too. Then for "Ladies of", maybe a wide font with less pronounced serifs like Salernomi J (80-85% height, just to thicken up the stresses) looks best.

Thanks for all of your suggestions, everyone. I'm really impressed with what you guys have come up with.

At this stage I'm actually quite partial to Who Am I's third submission, although I feel that the "Ladies of" portion may need to change somewhat. But we'll see.

Currently I've got two RPG ideas floating around in my mind, this being one of them. I'm not quite sure which one I'm going to go with - maybe I will make a thread in Anthology about it and see what people think.
