Prostitution, Spitzer, and other stuff

Well, I think unless you've been living under a rock or just don't really get a lot of news where you are the governor of New York State has been named as a client in a prostitution ring- which is real irony because he was key in prosectuting people who were involved in other prositution rings- thanks to the FBI.

As it stands right now governor Spitzer is accused of transporting a hooker (there isn't really any PC way to put it now is there?) across state lines from New York to Washington DC which is against the law (not that prostitution is legal in the states or anything :animesigh) and there are suspicions that he may have used government money to fund his little ahem... fun times.

So now the rest of the politicians (aside from Senator Clinton who's busy running her campaign) are calling for Spitzer's resignation, New Yorkers are at risk of getting yet another late budget, many New York cities are wondering about the funding for their projects, Silda Spitzer has got my sympathy, and that blonde on The View is worried about the people of New York City (Well yeah, but what about the rest of us poor souls in Upstate New York darling?)

This has got me wondering what do the rest of you think? This of course is a generalization because I'm talking about both prostution and if Spitzer should resign (actually if he doesn't resign by tomorrow afternoon Albany is going to impeach the git) Personally I think he should resign because he's such a smug git and he finally got his due.

This just in- according to my local news Spitzer may have spent about 80K on escorts

Ah yes, I was listening to this on my typical libertarian radio show and the host's main point was how happy Wall Street was now that their biggest enemy was in total disgrace and thus incapable of hurting them anymore. Additionally, what exactly is it like to be with a hooker that charges $5000.00 a night? I mean really! What is possibly worth that much? I mean unless she was bionic woman...which I doubt...

But then someone pointed out that Spitzer is a super delegate who had endorsed Hillary. Will he keep that delegate status when he resigns/is sacked? I was very curious about that. There's another person in line to take Spitzer's job that ALSO supports Hillary, only he's black and apparently very popular with most every African American ever. So there's actually some conspiracy chatter on 'Did Hillary actually go after Spitzer on purpose?'

Who knows. She has friends in Wall Street that she'd like to protect, and she'd be supported by whoever replaces him almost by statute. Go figure.

Holy crap, he's a player!

'Cept not, since he paid for it and all.

Why does it seem like people like this are all we ever elect? Or are they just the only ones who get publicity?

Anyway, if he doesn't resign, then he needs to be kicked out. Provided the allegations are true, which they most likely are.

I say kick the horny old dude out on his big city a**! I'm tired of hearing about these damn corrupt politicians making the whole country look bad. Personally, the idea that he was caught with a hooker isn't really all that surprising. I've come to accept the fact that politics is one of the most decietful, underhanded, and unsavory professions you can find yourself in. It's like if your not corrupt in some way, then the person you work for is.

As a member of the military, I suffer quite a bit from the corruption of politics, since it's politicians who sign my pay checks. Whats worse, is that it seems like it's everywhere these days, and worse still, everyone knows about it. I'm actually in Iraq right now, so my access to regular nightly news is kinda limited. I actually heard this story from a british soilder here before I saw it on the news at luch this afternoon.

I mean, for nation that's suppose to be run by the people, we sure do have an awful lot of ****** leaders, don't we? I still can't get over the fact that we re-elected Bush. Now all I do is pray that our next president isn't Hilary, because, put simply, I hate that B****.

We need to up the ante on these people who are making our country look like *******. Ya know, stupid celebrities, has-been pedophile pop stars, and corrupt politicians. We need to start exileing these people. Banish them to Siberia or something. I am tired of our country being the laughing stock of the world. Aren't you?

Wow... just another reason for me to hate this country. (No offense to you patriots. You fight for what you believe in, I'll fight for what I believe in.)

I personally don't care.

A) I'm moving out of the country with my fiancee when we get the money.
B) Something's going to happen either way.

Oh, and Starwind, I agree with the last thing you said. Everything else was just a bit Republican for my tastes. But yeah, we do need to like, find something to do with all the idiots in this world. They make the rest of us intelligent humans look bad.

Well as of today there is no more Govenor Spitzer- he resigned this morning which is a good thing because if he didn't he would have been impeached tomorrow. My friend who works as a secretary for a few lawmakers in Albany says that the past three days have been a mess and her bosses have been cracking jokes about the former govenor.

Roxas- I don't blame you if it wasn't so damn complicated I'd take my boyfriend's mom up on her offer and move to Canada with her as a sponsor and work as a CNA at the nursing home she works at until I can figure out how to become an LPN then a CHN up there (feel free to ask for clarifications) However my life's beyond complicated right now so barring a lot of legal time I can't move to our neighbor's to the north- unless someone either passes away or relinquishes his rights.

Finally I saw the best bumper sticker to describe my feelings- it was on the rear windsheild of a car in a Target parking lot yesturday and it said: I love my country- It's the government that scares me.

As a New Yorker...I didn't vote for him. Now I'm laughing at those who did. Not the epitome of honesty and truth they thought he was. Maybe we'll luck out and Part-time Senator/Full-time campaigner Hillary will be found out to be Client 10.

I couldn't agree more with that sentiment. It's ridiculous that we have to keep such a close eye on our politicians to make sure they're actually protecting our interests as the people.

But, despite how much I complain, I gotta say that I love my country. And I know that it's just me as a soldier going on here, but it's the way I really feel about it. For all it's follies there's nowhere else I'd rather live. And I won't move away to escape it like a rat deserting a sinking ship either. I believe in what it stands for and the fact that we can use the civil liberties we have to change this country, so long as we have the will to do it.

Sure, politicians are corrupt, but they're all ones we voted into office. This makes me think that maybe we as a country need to re-examine the way we vote. I don't vote democrat because the democrats traditionally cut back on the military, which means my meager pay check becomes even more pathetic.

I preach the message of "To change our country we must first change ourselves." I believe this to be true. People complain about the state of the nation, but won't do a thing to help change it. Don't think that a small group of people can't change the world. Hell, I you know your history well enough, you'll see it is in fact the only thing that ever has.

This government is really confusing. Now that legally blind dude is announcing to the public that he cheated on HIS wife! I'm so glad that I'm not old enough to vote(though I am a proud New Yorker.) 'cause these polititians are scary. It frightens me to think that one day I will be one of the voters that hands power to these scumbags! HELP! IS THERE NO TRUTHFUL POLITITIAN OUT THERE?!:animecry:
I find it more sad that Larry Craig is still a US Senator.
The only problem with that is that he was only found to have a particularly wide stance in a men's restroom. Nobody ever found him with his pants around his ankles and a page bent over the table in front of him. Cough.

There's the fact that he's homosexual, or at least roundly accused of being gay anyway, but he's not running for re-election this year so why the long face? At least he wasn't actually indicted as a co conspirator in a prostitution ring. Look at the bigger picture here. And no. You will never find an honest politician ever.

But before you freak out about the new governor, remember that while he cheated on his wife, she cheated on him. Two way street there. She wasn't staying home and weeping over her knitting, as far as I can see, she was out getting revenge sex of her own. Which is definitely what you should do if given half a chance. Oh yes. What does he being legally blind have to do with anything?

Lol, that was my favorite part of his conversation with the police officer. "I'm a fairly wide guy..." =P When I first heard it I thought he said "I'm a fairly white guy".

The big deal about being legally blind is he can't see a prostitute, lowering his chance of becomeing the Black-Spitzer. I'm sorry but this whole thing is filled with Spitz and giggles.
