The site won't load for me past Reshiram and Zekrom being all flashy, so I had to check PokeBeach itself. :(

But...wow, that's really awesome. I wonder how much we'll be able to do. Actually, I wonder how we'd be able to upload the save file to begin with. Maybe it'll come bundled with a special USB cable, like how FR/LG came with the wireless adapter and HG/SS came with the Pokewalker? Edited by Vivian

Release date is September 18 for Japan. s c r e a m

Video announcement here, with what looks like a gym leader "Cheren" and what could very well be the villain, since his dialogue reads "I will be better than the champion." However, it could be that the "gym leader" is the rival, since the background area doesn't look like a gym.

Also, get your Jirachi via Wi-Fi for the Night Sky Edge Pokewalker path, if you haven't already from GameStop.

Edit:

Definitely doesn't look like a gym... Edited by Citric

How long do we have to do that? D: I don't think I can go until Monday-Tuesday. And thanks for telling us Citric, I had no idea.

Also, what does everyone want to see added to Black & White, even if it might not happen? For me, I would have to say the return of secret hideouts. I don't remember which Gen had them, and I don't know if it's good that they're gone, but I heard about them and they sounded pretty cool.

As far as the new character, whom I'm dubbing Mint-kun, all I can say is "hay, sexy". :V

Oh wow, thanks Kei! (You too, Citric.) It's too hard for me to get to a Gamestop anyways. I'm glad you can just get it off of normal Wi-Fi now.

And you mean the guy, right? :V

I dunno man, this guy looks more like rival material than "Cheren" does. But yeah, I am wondering about the fact that the battle against "Cheren" looks nothing like a gym, though there's a random girl[?] in that shot, which makes me think they're bring in referees like the anime. If that is indeed some weird gym, anyway.

It really wasn't the same, especially since you couldn't easily access the base from just anywhere. (Like, if your base is in the Resort Area of Sinnoh, you can't get to it from, like Hearthome City.) It was kind of a blower.

Hopefully, they'll bring back what they did in R/S/E and let you build them off the actual Routes if they do bring that feature back.

One feature that would be really cool is if you could link with a friend and play with them in real-time (i.e. walk down a Route with them, double-battle with them, etc.) It would probably be the closest thing to an MMORPG we would get. :V

As far as Mint-kun the Hawtness goes, he does look more like a rival than a Gym Leader... A far more sinister-looking rival than Silver could ever hope to be (and a lot more mature, to boot), but definitely more of a rival than anything.

I also don't know if they'd actually bring in referees like in the anime, since that may slow down the battle speed. But then again, Isshu is a brand new region and may have customs that we're not yet familiar with. Unless they give out more information about how the battle system will work, we'll have to wait until the spoiler leaks come out from Japan in September.

EDIT: Hoooly hell, there are apparently gonna be three-on-three battles now. ._.

Well, the mention of the Resort Area reminds me that, in Platinum, you have [s]Steven Stone's[/s] Villa in that area. You can buy new items depending on certain achievements you make, and it's actually pretty awesome. Professor Rowan, your rival [I think, anyway], Dawn/Lucas [depending on who you play, natch] and even then gym leaders can come by and visit. It's pretty neat, and while I don't think it quite makes up for the lack of R/S/E's hideouts, it still beats the Underground's hideouts in spades.

8 new Pokemon revealed!

Ononokusu (ã?ªã??ã??ã?¯ã?¹), Doryuuzu (ã??ã?ªã?¥ã?¦ã?º), Desukaan (ã??ã?¹ã?«ã?¼ã?³), and Denchura (ã??ã?³ã?ã?¥ã?©); they are in the screenshot below. Doryuuzu's name derives from "mole," Desukaan's comes from "death" and "coffin," and Denchura's name contains the words "electric" and "tarantula." Guess it's an Electric tarantula. We're not sure about Ononokusu's name, though it seems to derive from "fear."

3 unnamed Pokemon:

Some leaked art for the Black and White season of the Pokemon anime. Noteworthy 'cause it contains an as-of-yet unrevealed fluffy bat lookin' Pokemon, and what appears to be the second stage evos of Mijumaru and Tsutaja. There's also what looks like a new Pokemon between the new girl and Jesse, but I have no idea.

You'd be correct. The english version isn't set to come out until Spring 2011, most likely.

When you pick your starter, the other two go to your two rivals: Bell (the blond girl) and Cheren (the black-haired boy). They are your two childhood friends. All three of you start your journey together at the same time. The game starts from Route 1. N will keep challenging you in order to confirm his ideas of justice. He calls Pokemon his "friends," but one of the screenshots shows him saying that he wants to split humans and Pokemon and divide them so that the world is black and white. He has the unique idea to set Pokemon free from people. He's looking for the power to grant these ideals.

In 3-on-3 battles, if your Pokemon is, for example, on the far left, it won't be able to hit a Pokemon on the far right. There is a button on the bottom left hand corner of the battle screen which is called "Move" and allows you to swap your Pokemon's positions. Thus, a Pokemon on the far right can hit the opponent's Pokemon that are on the far right as well as the middle. If the Pokemon in the middle uses an attack that hits all Pokemon, then it will be very powerful. A new ability called Telepathy prevents Pokemon from receiving damage from teammates. For example, if a Pokemon has Telepathy in a two-on-two or three-on-three battle and one of your Pokemon uses Surf, the Pokemon with Telepathy will not be damaged. There is also a new, unnamed attack which for one turn will cause all of your team members to avoid attacks that hit all team members.

Rankurusu (the green cell) and Gochiruzeru (the black humanshaped Pokemon) are both version-exclusives, but it doesn't say which is in which version. Pokemon White will exclusively feature White Forest while Pokemon Black will exclusively feature Black City.

Gochiruzeru (ã?´ã?ã?«ã?¼ã?«) is the Celestial Body Pokemon, also a Psychic-type (the humanshape goth). Its one known ability is Frisk and it can learn a new move called Magic Room, which takes away the effects of items for 5 turns. It is 1.5m tall and weighs 44.0kg. Its name may derive from "gothic" and "madmoiselle." Rankurusu (ã?©ã?³ã?¯ã?«ã?¹) is the Amplification Pokemon, a Psychic-type (the green blob). It knows a new ability called "Dust-Proof" (ぼã?ã?ã??), which prevents it (and possibly other Pokemon on your team that are out in battle) from taking damage from weather effects such as Sandstorm and Hail. Its second ability is Magic Guard, which was previously exclusive to the Clefable line. It stands 1.0m tall and weighs 20.1kg. Its name may derive from "chaos" and "homunculus." Wargle (ã?¦ã?©ã?¼ã?°ã?«) is the Valor Pokemon, a Normal/Flying type. Its name derives from "war" and "eagle." One of its abilities is Keen Eye and the other is Encourage, which boosts the power of its attacks but prevents any secondary effects such as Poisoning or Burning (Hihidaruma has the same ability). It can learn a new attack called Free Fall (ã??ã?ªã?¼ã??ã?©ã?¼ã?«), which involves the Pokemon grabbing the opponent, lifting it into the air, and then on the next turn throwing it to the ground. It stands 1.5m tall and weighs 41.0kg. Kibago (ã?ã?ã?´) is the Tusk Pokemon, a Dragon-type. Its abilities are Rivalry and Mold Breaker. It has a new attack called Double Chop (ã??ã??ã?«ã?ã?§ã??ã??), which hits the opponent twice. It is 0.6m tall and weighs 18.0kg. Koromori (ã?³ã?ã?¢ã?ª) is the Bat Pokemon, a Psychic/Flying-type Pokemon. Its abilities are Unaware and Klutz. It knows a new attack called Heart Stamp (ã?ã?¼ã??ã?¹ã?¿ã?³ã??), which can cause the opponent to flinch. It is 0.4m tall and weighs 2.1kg. Minezumi (ã??ã?ã?ºã??) is the Lookout Pokemon, a Normal-type. Its abilities are Run Away and Keen Eye. It knows a new attack called "You First" (ã?ã?きにどã?ã?) that makes the opponent attack first. It stands 0.5m tall and weighs 11.6kg.

Musharna (ã? ã?·ã?£ã?¼ã??) is the Trance Pokemon and is a Psychic-type like its pre-evolution Munna. The dreams of Pokemon are inside its smoke; both Munna and Musharna give off this Dream Smoke. It has the abilities Forewarn and Synchronize, stands 1.1m tall, and weighs 60.5kg. If you obtain "Dream Smoke," you can use a "Game Sync" to enable the uploading of your Black and White file to the Internet. Basically, it seems like "Dream Smoke" unlocks your ability to upload your game file.# The player will receive the C Gear from Makomo, Professor Araragi's friend, after they do something she asks. The C Gear has features for Wi-Fi, local wireless, and infrared. The High Link is a building at the center of Isshu through which you can connect to other players' games. Using the High Link, you can travel to another player's world and adventure with them together.

With the DS's infrared signal, you can have speedy battles with up to four players and speedy trades directly from your party or PC box. You can also automatically exchange friend codes over infrared now. A new feature called Passing By will allow your DS to connect automatically with other players that are nearby. As you advance in Black and White, you will be able to help others on their journey. It is part of the C Gear. The games have a Live Caster feature (not for the old DS or DS Lite), which allows you to use the DSi's camera to talk to friends through video feed. Locally, you can talk to up to four people, while over Wi-Fi you can only talk to two. The Live Caster will have a pen and stamp tool so you can play with the pictures while using the video chat. Characters in the game will use the Live Caster feature to talk to you as well (LMFAO WEIRD) N is seen using this in the trailer that showed on Oha Suta a few weeks ago. As has been rumored for months, the two games will now support Kanji for Japanese players. Apparently, the game's script will change a bit as well, perhaps since those who would change to Kanji are older players (will it be a little more detailed with more advanced vocabulary?). This feature won't be in the English games because it's a Japanese language thing. There is a new feature called Feeling Check that checks the compatibility of players. One of the things it shows is a game where two people have to keep the same rhythm. The blond childhood friend of the main character is named Bell.

The Pokemon Global Link, which is the service that allows you to upload your Black and White save file to a special website, has two different modes: one where you have your Pokemon play in a dream and another where you can battle online. You can unlock the Global Link feature once you obtain Musharna, the evolution of Munna, meaning it is one of those "gimmick" Pokemon like Plusle and Minun were for 2-on-2 battles. In the World of Dreams, your Pokemon have their own rooms that they can play in and they can play mini-games with other Pokemon. Pokemon that your Pokemon becomes friends with in the dream world can be taken back to the real world, being your game; you can capture Pokemon not available in the Isshu PokeDex and transfer them to your games in this fashion. To transfer Pokemon to the computer and thus to the World of Dreams, there will be a new Game Sync option available through the C Gear, which allows you to choose one Pokemon to send to your computer.

There is going to be an event held from 8/7 to 8/31 where you can encounter an Eeveelution in a dream on the Pokemon Daisuki Club website, perhaps a way to teach players how the new feature will work. Presumably, you can send the Eeveelution you encounter back to Black and White once they are released.

There's been no mention of a PokéWalker with Black and White. There has been word that Pokémon won't follow the player around like in HG/SS, though, so that may be a sign that they're completely overhauling the system again.

As far as the version exclusives, Rankurusu is exclusive to White and Gochiruzeru is exclusive to Black.

It's highly likely that all of the C Gear features will transfer over to the U.S. version, but what may be up in the air is whether or not there will be regional servers (i.e. U.S. Players can only video link with other U.S. players, etc.). It's likely that people will still be able to trade internationally, but setting up video capabilities worldwide is quite an undertaking. I mean, it's possible, but it doesn't seem too feasible...

Lots of new info came out last night. Highlights:

- A rather adorable deer-like Pokemon. I strongly suspect that it could be a Stantler pre-evo.
- An evolved form of the deranged chipmunk/woodchuck, apparently a meerkat-like Pokemon.
- A swan-like Pokemon.
- A trainer named Aroe, noteworthy because they're African-American, which is rather rare in anime and video games.
- We now know the crime syndicate of the region, Team Plasma...which is probably one of the stupidest and least-threatening names I've ever heard. [s]Hopefully they won't have the atrocious fashion sense of Team Galactic[/s] what is this i dont even It looks like they're going for the medieval knight look, but it just looks goofy...
