What the **** are you people talking about??? .Hack//SIGN is over. They have gone through all 26 episodes. There are two more episodes, they only exist as a marketting gimick. They are not continuations of the storyline. All that is left is the .Hack Games and .Hack// ??? of the Twilight Bracelet (forgot the first word) which follows after the games. There is no last battle, Skeith was the closest thing to a last battle and he was no longer a threat to the group after Helba erased Net Slum.

No, the giant cellphone and the tablet were two different things. The tablet was the item which gave Tsukasa the Guardian. I would guess that the voice was a recording made by Morganna that translated what the tablet had written on it. As for the giant cellphone, I believe that it was a warning of sorts. Telling Morganna that Tsukasa was successfully trapped in The World. I am not yet sure what the connection is to the cellphone and spoken words from the last episode. Unless it is supposed to indicate that Morganna is still planning something.

My city's library has an anime club. Technically it is actually a "Review Board" for all new incoming titles, so that they are not placed in a wrong section. The only problem is, very few people have been showing up recently. This has made the future of the group a bit shaky, and they are already planning on making the meeting every other week, instead of each week. Thinking of which, I still need to finish the review for one of the titles. :p

Do me a favor and smack your friend the next time you see him. Anyway, back to the topic at hand. If your friends do not know about anime then I pitty them. They are missing out on shows that put American TV to shame (most of, anyway). My tip, just ignore them if they have a problem with it. If they truely are your friends they will not care.

This is a two person unit. Name: Black (Kay) Age: approx. 28 Apperence: 6'-tall with dark brown hair and green/brown eyes. Long-legged and thin, but well muscled (sp?) Wears a black jumpsuit with black boots and gloves. Small computer on left wrist, katana on his back, knife in right boot, and a pistol holstered under his left shoulder. Wears a black, motorcycle-style helmet with black visor in combat, and a white, hooded cloak when out of combat. Bio: Growing up on the streets made Kay a natural fighter, and numerous run-ins with the law left him in a military training camp at a young age. His lack dicipline for following orders and his fighting skills earned him a place in a spec ops unit, where he was codenamed "Black" for his cold attitude and favorite color. He quickly got the hang of guns and became an expert sniper. Growing tired of being used he deserted the unit and became a mercenary. He is very loyal to his friend Amy. Opinion: Undecided. Chooses to view the invaders before making any quick decision. Now the second member of my unit. Name: Blue (Amy) Age: (Dangerous question) ;) Apperence: 5' 10" with shoulder length, light brown hair, and ice-blue eyes. Also thin and well muscled. Wears the same outfit/weapons as Kay does. Bio: Amy came from a rich family that believed everyone should have a military background. She was forced into a military academy by her parents. An attempt to escape landed her in trouble, followed by a short stay in a prison cell, where she met Kay. Through various channels Kay's superiors got Amy transfered to their unit and assigned her to work as a spotter with Kay. She agreed to remain with him when he left the army and became a hired gun. She is also very loyal to Kay. Opinion: Shares the same view as Kay. She judges a situation as it comes.

Hmm. Myabe it is just me, but he looks like someone is smacking him across the back with a branding iron. Other then that it is a very well done picture. God knows its better then anything I could ever do. -
I can understand the part with the hair being a problem. The same thing happened in the high school across town from the one I went to (until 'bout two years ago). There was a person that had his hair in a two-foot tall, spiked mohawk. The teachers made him cut it down a bit. I.D.? Not really any big deal. Our school had rules that required students to carry ID at all times. Since they were more of a "Just in case" type of rules most people ignored them. Althougth ID was required at school dances. The signed permission to leave campus is just to keep the school's *** out of the frying pan. I think they are legally responcable for the students on campus. If they leave and something happens the school can get sued. My old high school no longer lets anyone leave campus this year (which angers my sister). I would think that could be a problem for some businesses along the road (like the comic shops) who actaully have customers walk from the campus.

I own AC2:AA and I enjoy it a lot. Getting the extra parts that are hidden in the levels tends to be a pain, especially the "mobile decoy" part. I have played AC2 and AC3 too, but do not like them as much as AC2:AA. The good thing about AC2/3 is that they have the Arena mode, which is fun to practice with. And I do like the "External Orbits" style of torso in AC3. The EO style proves useful against other humans.

Anime (US/CAN) General thoughts and ratings for .hack//SIGN 26, "Return"
Zephyr replied to Shy's topic in Otaku Central
Originally posted by OtakuSennen Oh, and Black_Phoenix, remember how Bear said that there is one copy of Herald in every server because he's part of the programming, right? Well doesn't that mean, logically speaking, that there would be more than one Aura as well? I mean, maybe that could give reason as to why Aura looks so different in the games in comparison to SIGN..
An interesting thought, and one that could be very true. If Harold created Aura then there is a good chance he created a backup of her too. In thoery the copies would have "awakened" at the same time as Aura, but remained dormant until the original was lost. Maybe Aura created a copy by herself, just in case Skeith got her. The only reason I have found while searching online is that it may have been too difficult to create an exact copy of the TV Aura in the games. A quote from the person that did the skins and textures for the games makes me believe that the character designs were rather difficult to place in the game. I suppose that Aura needed to be changed to work in the clip scenes. EDIT/UPDATE: Okay, after watching the creator interviews on both Liminality DVD's I have thought of another reason. The person that did the character designs (I forgot the name :p) was anxious to see how realistic some of the character skins could be. I figure that he may have decided to redesign Aura to better fit in the game and allow him to test the limits of the skins. -
Originally posted by K.K.C. I have a question for you Black_Phoenix. Sense you know probably the most about the games... Why is the Aura in the games so different then the Aura from the animation?
Not really sure. The closest I can guess is that the creators decided to make a few changes to her. I suppose it could be said that she "evolved" over the 6 months between the show and the games, which would explain why she can talk and create the Book Of Twilight. The thing that bugged me the most was why she lacked a pair of legs, but I figure it could have something to do with the damage shown on her feet while she was in Morganna's Realm (in .Hack//SIGN) I will have to check out the .Hack website and the info on the DVD's to see if any reasons are listed, and then post any answers I find. -
There are two ways I look at this question. First, in real life. Ki, or Chi, is merely the focused physical energy of a human. It is more a state of mind then an actual form of energy. Controlling one's Ki is simply the process of focusing your mind, body, and soul on a task. This is why a martial artist can break a board. They focus all of themselves into striking as quickly and cleanly as possible, allowing for great power with little pain. Second, in DragonBall. Not even close to possible. The human body does not create nearly enough energy to pull off anything in DB/Z/GT. Maybe if the extra energy were stored you could pull of a few things, but it would be mostly stronger muscles, faster hitting/running, and maybe an electrical discharge from your nerves/muscles (after evolution gets its chance).

*Begins pulling out hair, banging head against desk, and screaming in pain.* Ohh, god. My eyes, they burn. That show was the biggest pile of steaming horse [Expletive Removed] that I have ever seen. It is an insult to everything Gundam. Problems I see:

The colors are way too bright from a Gundam series. I want the somber colors back.
Get rid of the talking gundams. I never want to see a four foot talking "toy" call itself a gundam.
Dark Axis?!?!? AAARGH! Bring back the Zeon. At least they were bad guys you could respect.
Someone shoot that kid. He is irritating. And what type of moron thinks "Sleeping Beauty" works on a robot?
I think I will stop before my head explodes. Skull fragments are so hard to clean up.

Anime Crest of the Stars/Banner of the Stars
Zephyr replied to moon-scar demon's topic in Otaku Central
A very well done anime title. The fact that the entire Abh language was created IRL and not just a grouping of random symbols on the screen proves how much effort was put into it. The art was great, especially the picture of the sunflowers on the warship, and unlike some other titles the love story in it was not quite as tacky. I enjoyed it so much that I am hoping my library will buy the Banner of The Stars series that follows it (set about three years later, I think). -

I just realized something about this episode that makes me angry at the designers of the .Hack games. In the show Aura has those deep purple eyes, but in the games they are switched to a light blue. This makes me mad because I think the purple looks so much better then the blue does. Thus ends my random thought for this evening. :p -
Originally posted by ars_magicae yeah, .hack infection is one of the less outstanding rpg's out there, it is really short, no real backstory on the characters, but that is to be expected in a game that simulates a mmorpg.
There is a slight backstory to the characters, but you have to pay close attention to the cut-scenes and the e-mails. For instance from the e-mails we learn that Blackrose is a Sophmore (IIRC) who enjoys tennis, and from the cut-scenes we learn that she is trying to help her friend Kazu, who is in a coma. In reality it is about the same for the .Hack//SIGN series. We learn a few things about people (Sora's general age, Subaru's handicap, Tsukasa's gender, etc.), but not a large amount of there actual lives. To be honest, I like the .Hack games being short because .Hack//Infection was the first RPG I had ever played. I am good with games, but learning to control other characters at the same time is still tricky for a beginner.

Just for future reference, posts like this one are not allowed at OB. Please put more thought into the posts you type. Posts like this ruin things for everyone. If you wish to talk about the last episode there is a place at the top of the page where you can.

I really did not like 08th MS team that much. The biggest problem was that the "bad guy" was just a total lunatic, which ruins everything. He should have been more like Anavel Gato (0083), who had a good reason to do what he did. Worse yet was the cheesy love story. Unlike other Gundam series the love story hidden in this one was so bad that it really ruined things. Just as bad was the mass-produced Gundams. For a machine that is so hard to make there sure were a lot of them, and they lost the sense of uniqueness that you find in every other Gundam series.

OOC: Early, late, who cares? One way or the other it is over, right? :p Aftermath *Kay finished attaching the cables to the battered zoid and reelled into the transporter. Once the zoid was in he closed the door and got behind the wheel. Once again he was on his own as he drove toward Helic City, and the rest of his paycheck for this job. Left behind on the seat of Evean's Geno Breaker was an envelope and inside a piece of paper. There were only three things written on the paper: "Heimdall," a contact number, and the words "Another time."* OOC: That really had no purpose, but having an ending of some sort is a good thing. :D

Anime (US/CAN) General thoughts and ratings for .hack//SIGN 26, "Return"
Zephyr replied to Shy's topic in Otaku Central
Before I post a rating I will say one thing first. Sora did NOT become Skeith. As you can tell by the red wand (which he carries) Skeith already existed. Later in the games we learn that
Sora's consciousness is trapped in the wand
(from what I have heard). Rating: 9-10/10 I still have mixed feelings about the rating, but this episode was awesome. I was pleased that they finally had Aura drawn instead of that half-computer graphics version. And I really liked how she was drawn, she was rather cute too. As for the fake Tsukasa, Mimiru, and Subaru that Morganna created, those were kinda lame. One would think that the real ones would have had enough faith in each other to realized they would not act that way. I did like the part at the end when the fake Mimiru kind of melted. And of course, the real life part at the end. Excuse me while I try and hold back the bile. Sappy endings like that are not my thing. It was nice to get to see the real Tsukasa, and hear her real voice for a moment, and the real Subaru. The fade to color was a nice touch too. There was no Helba, only her voice. :bawl: Oh, well. She did save the group, which is good enough. Did anyone else notice that the final scene was the same one from the first episode? The one with the giant cell phone in the desert and Morganna's voice. -
OOC: The Gunsniper still has the main gun. It was only the left arm and torso that were badly damaged. Kay: "Yeah, the rifle still works. It will be hard to pierce the shield since I cannot guarantee the aim will be good." Nitsu: "Any help will be good help. Even if it fails we will find a way to win." *The Gunsniper began to stir, and slowly regained its feet. Kay turned the zoid around and locked the anchors in the toes to the ground. Because of the damage to his cockpit the chair would not rotate, and he was forced to use the control stick on his chair's right arm, instead of the gun sight behind the chair. Kay set the gun up for a three round burst and took aim. Hit target was the twin cannons on the Death Stinger's back (I forgot about those before). Once the target was locked, and sight as steady as he could get it Kay pulled the trigger. Three rounds left the chamber, one after the other. With luck the rounds would collide with the shield, each one hitting the on before. This would allow them to burrow into the shield, with the third one breaking through. Kay was unable to see if the tactic worked as the Gunsniper's tail sheared off from the force of the rounds, and the zoid toppled forward.* Kay: "That's it Nitsu. My zoid is completely spent."

Hmm, tough choice. But I have narrowed it down to two. Hiei (YYH) and Spike (Cowboy Bebop). I like Hiei's style of combat. Quick, easy, and messy. Not only that, but he also has that "I wont take **** from anyone" attitude, and the power to back it up. The greatest part of all was when he tried to "test" Yusuke before the Dark Tourney, and Yusuke's amusing comment: "Hey, Hiei, I see your people skills have improved." As for Spike, I like him because of his constant fights with Visious. Anyone that can use a gun like a sword in close range combat has to be good, since there is liitle room for error. And besides, what other anime character has ever walked into a crime syndocate's main office and drop-kicked a grenade while looking so d*** cool? :D
-
OOC: Actually, the DS only has cannons. One Partical Cannon on the tail, two smaller cannons on either side of it, four light manchine guns next to the cockpit, and one small gun in each claw. As for "OOC," it means "Out Of Character." It is used when you are speaking in your own "voice", and not that of your character.

Frankly I find the fact that such a monument is illegal to be disgusting. This entire country was founded on Christian beliefs. I support that history behind the states, and I am strictly anti-religion (anyone calls me an atheist and I smack them, I am agnostic). I find this to be a slap in the face of this nation's history. And lets be honest about one thing. The monument was of no harm to anyone. The only reason it came up is because someone had to make their voice heard. Okay, end of rant.

>>Oh and its SO possible to bring a zoid to life?>> OOC: Yes, it is. So long as most of the core is intact, and there is an Organoid to fuse with it. There would probably be a loss of computer memory from the damaged part of the core, but some of it would be rewritten after being fixed by the Organoid. This is seen in the episode of Zoids: CC where they Shield Liger is revived, and evolved, by Zeke after a fatal hit to the core. IC: *Kay unleashed a full barrage of missles at the Death Stinger, and followed it up with a burst from the twin gatling guns installed between the missiles. At the same time he was forced to try and dodge the shots from the Death Stinger. The missiles and gunfire did little against the large zoid's heavy armor. The dodging did not last forever as a burst from the quad-cannons on either side of the Death Stinger's main gun finally hit their mark, taking off the lower part of Gunsniper's left arm. This sent Kay into a rage.* Kay: "YOU SON OF A *****! No one hurts my Amy." (Yes, he named his zoid Amy) *Hitting his boosters, Kay jumped the Gunsniper onto the back of the Death Stinger and unleashed a full-out attack with his twin quad-barreled gatling guns, and his remaining tri-barrel on the right arm. All the attacks were aimed at the Death Stinger's tail, and at this range very few missed. Unfortunately, the range meant the Death Stinger didn't either. The Gunsniper went flying back as it was hit by the two remaining guns at close range. When it landed the main body was nothing more then a tangled heap, leaving only the zoid core and a little armor left. Inside the cockpit Kay remained motionless.*
