In theory, couldn't someone 'cheat' by adding in a link to a vital page in the chain and just adding in a strong sentence to blend in?
I was thinking that as well, actually. Anyway, for Baron's 6d, this is what I got. Bhopal > World Heritage Site > Australia > Mammal > Dolphin Retri's. TaiPei 101 > CN Tower > Rogers Centre > Hard Rock Cafe > Rock and Roll That wasn't actually as hard as I thought it would be. You just have to think ahead, like how I figured Australia would obviously say something about animals (and therefore Dolphins) and it did. Here's mine. Nintendo > The Holocaust Okay. Before anyone does mine, I'm going to solve Retri's.
It doesn't mean that the "test" is like a trivia quiz. there are many types of tests like test of determination or test of strength or how you deal with these kinds of situations. there are certain tests in life which have no right or wrong answers these are the types of tests i'm talking about.
It seems like an interesting idea. So, you're saying this would be similiar to a sort of interdimensional Olympics with only one winner? Neat. You'll have to think about how the RPG would run. I'm assuming it would run something like Sandy's (awesome) OBSurvivor where there are specific rounds and such. You wouldn't have to vote out a player each time, though. ;)

I was talking to Boo earlier this morning and we somehow got into the subject of people who don't really change their sign-ups from RPG to RPG. And it's true. There are a lot of people in the Adventure Inn who, if you look at all their characters in a certain time frame, they are very similiar. It's not necessarily a bad thing, I just found it interesting. For instance, if you look at my sign-ups in the latest Elemental Spheres and Titans: The Awakening, you'll see that my characters in the sign-up have big similarities. So, what do you all think? Have you noticed this too? Do you ever do it (on purpose or not)?

I'd rather have an RPG where the plot is very open-ended and I'm free to be as creative as I like (with restrictions). The whole chapter system just never caught my interest as I don't enjoy being told exactly what my character should be doing. On that same note, however, I do like chapter RPG's when I'm not feeling original and can't think of anything to post. It gives me a great idea of what my post should be about and thus makes it easier to post in general. All in all, I'd prefer something like the Freestyle Chapter System. Best of both worlds, really.
Thanks for the offer Blayze. I'll let you know if I need help. I watched 'Las Vegas' last night. I was thinking that the plays might take the positions of authority within a casino and I (and maybe an accomplise) would try and wreak havoc, and they'd have to solve these issues. We'd be playing in real-time sort of. Gah.... it's going to be hella complicated.
You have me interested. I'm not sure a real-time RPG would work out. I've seen it attempted before and it never goes well. Too many members are from very different timezones. While one person was robbing a whole city, the cop or whatever could be sleeping the whole time. Heh. Anyway, I'm definately curious about what you have to offer. ^_^

What OtakuBoards members would you like to meet?
Ellerby replied to Boo's topic in General Discussion
I'd like to add to my previous. Ezekiel. I can't believe I forgot you! Zeke's graphics are superior to mine, and thus I would love for her to teach me. We both have very different styles and it'd be neat to see how she does what she does. She's also a lot of fun to talk to. :3 I'd also like to say Desbreko again. Just because I want to add another reason. If we met, I could show him once and for all that Green Link could easily defeat Purple Link in a battle. No matter what the circumstances are. -
Wow, I'm surprised it took me so long to figure this one out. It looked very familiar, yet I couldn't get it. The tip of the tongue feeling. Anyway, it's OtakuBoards. Scramble: DuneDrugRon Hint: No mod.
Tee hee, the answer is Winged-Kid ^_^ Scramble: AUKKIZ INCHFOU Hint: The full name of the character in my banner and avi set currently.
Well, that would be Kazuki Fuchoin from GetBackers! "Well, while we're letting more people join, we might aswell make it a full, 6-man party." White pulled a piece of paper out from his pocket and scribbled something down on it. "LF2M: Gorfenlop's Warning Water Fighter, Shadow Fighter, Light Wizard. Need Damage Dealer and back-up healer." He walked towards a large bulletin board and pinned the parchment to it. It blended in nicely with the dozens of other LFG messages. "I don't trust him." Relyk surprised White and he turned around. "What? You're the one who's a Shadow Hacker!" "I don't care. He's... mischeivious." "Word of the day calendar?" White mumbled, hiding a laugh. Relyk unfurled his feathers and floated a few feet above ground. "I'm going to go look for some party members the old fashioned way." and with that, Relyk was gone. The Fighter who had introduced himself as Genji walked back towards White. "Where's he goin'?" "You don't want to know." White said. Genji shrugged and beckoned White over to a certain merchant that was in a small alleyway, away from all the bustling. Genji walked towards the man and asked for a weapon. "What are you talking about? I have no such weapon! I sell potions!" the man smiled. Genji sighed. "Relax, we're not GM's. Sigfred sent me." "In that case.. wait one moment." And while White was trying to wrap his mind around the situation, the man had gone and retrieved a brightly coloured sword, about arm's length. White handed the man his money and took the sword. It was labeled 'The Archangel's Avenger'.

Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. Maybe something like a pet you have to raise, and eventually it's old enough to be mounted? I'll work on that. I'll make Faction-specific mounts (sort of like in WoW) for each class. And maybe if you didn't like your regular mount, there were other ones in the world just waiting to found. :)

Well, with different genre's your going to get a lot of different members. For instance, if you make a fantasy-esque RPG you'll get a lot of people like Myself, Sakura, Ezekiel, and Revelation (to name a few). Sci-Fi will get you members like Gavin, Jokopoko, and Blayze. Modern times will get you a various amount of members and Cartoony/Video Game RPG's tend to draw in people like Sandy, JJ and Sakura. There will always be occasions where people sign up for something they don't normally sign-up for, but that's just because it really depends more on the RPG itself and not the genre. Basically, I skim the Adventure Inn for an interesting title, open the thread, read a tiny bit and decide if I like it or not. If I do, I'll read the whole thing and if I don't, I'll just look some more. Fancy graphics usually help draw more attention (it's what got me interested in Color of Magic) and so does having it in your signature (people who don't normally visit the Arena see it).
I thought up a question. Do the Factions have official and specific places where they each meet? Like a home base or something? Just wondering because it'd be pretty neat if there was. And uh, have you thought of names of other towns/cities in the world of Elements Online? And if you have, do you have descriptions of the places or a vague idea of how you want it portrayed? Yeah....after I get my answers I'll be sure to make a post in the near future.
Originally I was going to post a nice, fat and juicy map with my first post in the square, but since I lost Adobe Photoshop I wasn't able to. I'll have a map up soon but for now, you'll have to go with this. Talon Rock. A small city that hangs on the side of a cliff, overtop water. This is the Water Faction's capital city, and also the smallest of the 6 faction cities. Vlanor. The Fire Faction's capital city. It's a large village built into the side of a volcano. It also sits right next to the Earth Faction's jungle city. Treetop Haven. Usually referred to as "TTH" in-game. It's a huge city suspeded entirely at the tops of trees in Swallow Jungle, next to Vlanor. This is the Earth Faction's capital city and also the largest of all the Faction cities. The Sky Dome. A large dome in the middle of the desert, it looks very rusty and worn on the outside, but it's a very elegeant and roman-esque castle on the inside. Not many people understand how the castle doesn't show up on the outside, but most suspect it has something to do with the wind being forced in certain positions, blocking all view. This is the Wind Faction's capital city. Pelanyr Castle/The Necropolis. One in the same, the Shadow and Light Factions share their capital city. It's actually two versions of one castle. The first one is a bright and cheery place, with guards at every door, trumpets playing all through the marketplace and a happy king sitting on the throne. The Necropolis version is dark and gloomy, with wraith's at every corner. There is a gateway in the middle of PC and Nec that transports you to the other version of the castle. It is also the only city with an Auction House.

Always working, never playing. It was true. White never had time to acutally play what he was paying for. All he did was work (and get paid, of course). It was a good source of income, and was fun at first, but it was getting a little out of control. More and more hackers popped up everyday and there weren't nearly enough GMs to handle everything. White made his decision. He logged out of the game after sending a goodbye message to Relyk and went to the EVIO store in town. When he logged back on, White felt no different than before. It wasn't log before Relyk flew in beside him, wings furled on his back. "Where'd you go?" he asked. "I'm not a GM." "What?!" Relyk tapped impatiently waiting for an answer. "You were right. It's just no fun anymore. Let's go do a quest, I need some real armor here." "Awesome, let's go!"

What OtakuBoards members would you like to meet?
Ellerby replied to Boo's topic in General Discussion
I was just about to post this thread! Alright, in no particular order, these are the people I would like to meet. Sakura. I would definately enjoy getting together with Mar-mar. She never ceases to put a smile on my face and is such a sweetheart. I'm sure we'd jsut sit around all day playing video games or something, haha. Retribution. Another of my best friends on OtakuBoards, this guy is the bomb. Everytime we talk someone says something extremely funny. And I wouldn't mind seeing him work Photoshop in person. Dragon Warrior. Ah, yes. One of my oldest OB friends. I can just see us walking around throwing funny story ideas around, picking up chicks and such. That would be good times, indeed. Gavyn is like a brother to me and I would certainly be delighted to meet him in person. JJ. JJ is one cool guy. We share a lot of interests and I can see our relationship sparking from the beginning. Cheers, JJ. Boo. Ahah, yeah. My dutch friend. I'd love to watch the World Cup games with him and maybe even learn some dutch. Besides, it would also give me a chance to go to Holland. :whoops: Desbreko, Charles, James and r2vq. No, not because they are staff members. I couldn't care less. It's because they all seem to share very similar tastes in video games as I do. I swear I could sit around for hours playing Super Smash Bros. with them or something. ^_^ Kitty. Hey, sweet thang, don't think I forgot you. ;) Revvy is the coolest chick I know, and I would just love to meet her in person. We have a lot of common interests and I'm sure we'd get along great in person. -
Wow. What a contradictory sentence. You want to make OB better by going against the moderators and administrators. From what I can gather, MAMA makes zero sense if that's your goal... why not work in conjunction with the moderators and administrators to better OB? Clashing doesn't make progress, it's only detrimental to the environment. As previously stated, your acronym is extremely misleading. I suppose I don't understand why the formation of this group was necessary in the first place. Why not bring this up as soon as you felt that the Administration was not executing their duties to the fullest? What's the point of creating this secret society where you all seethe together in late-night chatrooms, but never get your grievances addressed?
Ooo! That gives me an idea. Working side by side, right? Instead of having Moderator of _______, you could also have the very few members with the title "MAMA Member." Of course, you'd have to change your acronym. But I think that would be neat. It would give the oldies the recognition they deserve, and it would also give them a chance to better OB.
Well, that clears up a few things. OB politics? Fantastic, that'll make life more interesting! Just as long as it doesn't turn into one of those Anthology fanfics where the elitist older members go around killing newbies.Come on, since when were Moderator titles a symbol of 'recognition'? You MAMA guys evidently recognise each other's worth as OB members. We don't have a gold star system, the best 'recognition' you can hope for is the respect of other members and you all have that already.
Even though I don't necessarily agree with MAMA's idea of OB, you have to give them some recognition. They kept what they were doing a secret, not troubling anyone. They aren't looking to start a movement or anything, it's just a small group for members with the same idea who rant with eachother. This reminds me of when PiroMunkie started a movement to stop DW's sexy glory. 'Cept that was comical.
Oh my, the image that one brings to mind. o_O Hehe, it?s about time I quit lurking and comment on how much I?ve been enjoying your comics. I look forward to seeing more of them. ^_^
I second that. Gavyn you already know how much I love these, but I'm posting anyways (partially because I want to subscribe to the thread). Dark Waters is my favourite, by far. It's short and sweet, the kind of comic I'd put on my locker. And it's slightly random, making it even better. Next to that, I also obviously like Eegad. The story was, in Grade 6, my friend and I were doing something and he turned to me and goes "Shame on you!" to which I replied "How good looking is Shame?" It's lame, I know, but we laughed so hard. I told Gavyn that he could do this for SIS and he came up with Eegad, which I find funnier.

Mmm. I really don't see OtakuBoards going downhill at all. I remember that when the first new member was dubbed Moderator I was a little taken back myself. But I talked to James and he basically set me straight. I'm not sure I see how OB is going downhill but it seems all AC!D!C is concerned with is Mods. Sure, I remember the old v6 days, and I remember them being good. But I also remember v7 coming and it getting so much better. I can think of very little examples of a member who has posted a bad thread and it hasn't been taken care of. Nothing can be perfect, but I think OtakuBoards is very close.

Is this your way of trying to become a moderator? It isn't working. :(

Ah, I see it now. So, there is no C-Stick anymore? Just a button? If so, that's a shame. Now wouldn't it be neat if they had it set so you could hold down the C-Button and the Analog Stick would become the C-Stick? I think that'd be just great. Or if even while you hold down the C-Button, you moved the Nunchuk attachment to move the camera (not the crosshair, direction character us looking etc). This would create that looking to the side while moving forward technique they have you do with the D-Pad (which I do quite a lot). I'm a little worried about moving around in SMG. Not camera-wise, but just the whole running on a sphere idea. It could take a while to get used to, and I'm afraid I'll give up on the game before I get used to it. Of course, I could never give up when it comes to Mario.

White trotted gracefully along the castle walls of the large city of Aduin, the captial city of the world where players of all Factions came to meet. He was in a specific place where players could see him from the ground, but couldn't get there themselves due to the game restricting them. He sat himself down and let his feet dangle of the edge, waiting for trouble. It came. Two players, a Water Wizard and a Fire Wizard were starting to get a bit rough with eachother. The rules said nothing about fighting outside of towns, but when it put other people in danger, and it was inside a city, was when it became against the rules. The Fire Wizard summoned a flaming elemental. This one was called a Succubus. Or as White called them, a Sexybus. In return, the Water Wizard summoned the first Ice Elemental in the game, an Ice Gremlin. This should be interesting. thought White. The two elementals duked it out. Although the Succubus has the upperhand level-wise, the Ice Gremlin had the elemental advantage. At first, the Ice Gremlin just jumped on the Succubus' back and dug his spike-fists into her shoulders to hold on. She clenched her fists and increased her body temperature by about double what it was. This instantly melted the Gremlin and the Succubus returned to her master's side. "That was such a cheap move!" yelled the Water Wizard, upset. He threw a water sphere at the Succubus, killing it. The Fire Wizard yelled in anger and summoned a maelstrom of chaos. One large meteor gathered itself in the air, forming enough fire energy to plummet into the city (which would probably have killed almost everyone in the Trade District). Just as the meteor was falling, it turned into a billion tiny blue orbs and floated away. This was White's Relocation spell. He jumped down from the castle walls and walked towards the fighting duo calmly. Everyone stopped what they were doing, as seeing a GM so close was a rare sight. "What's going on here, fellas?" White said. The two were silent for a moment, but then both started blabbling gibberish outloud at the same time, pointing at eachother and making hand gestures. White sighed. "Relax. I saw the whole thing. I'm going to temporarily ban you both from the City of Aduin for three hours. This is just a warning, so don't let any battles get out of hand again." After that, White teleported back to his little seat on the castle walls, where only GMs could get to. "Nicely done." White, frightened, looked behind him to see is real-life friend Relyk standing there. "Relyk, what the hell?! You aren't supposed to be here." White grumbled and stood up, facing his friend. "What? I couldn't resist. Please, oh please, don't ban me from the city for three whole hours, oh great one." Relyk mocked. White waved his hand and his friend disappeared in a few blue spheres, reappearing in the middle of a high-level desert. It was the home of fierce monsters such as the armored vultures and even the rare Bulgra the Vicious, which has only been spotted thrice and killed once.
From N-Sider.com: And my worries are put to rest. Though I'd hope there's also an option for smooth rotation by holding down left/right instead of tapping a direction to rotate the camera a set amount like in Mario 64. And, of course, I also hope the camera actually stays where I put it until I center it again with the nunchuk's C button. (Rather than letting it drift like in Mario 64.) If they do it that way it'll be really similar to Zelda: The Wind Waker's camera, which I liked a lot.
Oh, yes. I love the Wind Waker camera control. So, this is all good. It seems to satisfy most everyone's needs. But I have to say, I did not see a C Button on the nunchuk attachment. Where is it? Is it just pressing the analog stick inward?
