Karen entered her appartment and let out a long exhasperated sigh. Flinging her bag into a corner she goes into the kitchen and pours herself a glass of water. Leaning against the counter sipping the water she glances at her computer and the V-R equipment there. She nodded slightly, remembering that new game she'd been trying out. Finishing her drink she started it up and logged on. --------------------------------------------------- Sarien opened her eyes and winced slightly against the bright sunlight, much different to the rather wet day back home. Stretching her limbs she sighed contentedly. The wind crept across her bare arm stirring her from her reverie. Reaching behind her back she checks that her blade is there and sets off across the mountian path were she appeared in full confidence. Trotting down the dusty path she slid to a halt at a steep ledge overlooking a forested area. Frowning slightly she crouches down on one knee and peers over the edge. A strong tune could be heard on the wind, the vibrations of the guitar strings reachign her ears. Raising an eyebrow she seats herself on the dusty ledge and rests her elbow on her knee, her chin leaning on her hand as she listens.
4. Uriel gritted his teeth as the two blades clashed. The gash that Sheal had scored on his arm had already healed considerably, an angry red line only now apparent under the dried blood. His wings worked in powerful mostions to keep him aloft as the battle raged. "The Lord did not start this, it was destined to happen!" Uriel grunted as Shael drove his elbow into his shoulder. In reply to this Uriel rapped the hilt of his blade at Sheal's face, smiling grimly as he watched a thin trail of blood trickle from the angel's nose. "We fight you because you betrayed His trust...and as Lucifer before you will repent or be cast out!" With this final word he roared and raised his sword aloft bringing it down in a powerful arch.

7.
Originally posted by Justin Heh, I love you guys. I think most everyone here has defended their beliefs very well, and I'm proud that this topic hasn't turned into a stinking pit of mudslinging. It really reflects the character of our entire board. :) Maybe this is the beginning of a new, more flame-free Otaku Lounge. One where debates like these are actually possible on a regular basis. :) Just thought I'd drop this in. God be with you all,
Yeah Justin it makes me happy that people can debate subjects like these civilly without resorting to senseless flaming. God can be with me if God chooses and if what the bible teaches is right then I shall be forgiven. However, if I'm not and I'm sent to hell then I'd like to think that I'm going to that nice little place in Dantes hell where all those people who were around before Jesus came along went like Plato and Aristotle...kind of like a heaven for non believers. However, God is not a big part of my life and I'm sure there are far worse people in this world who need Jesus' love more than me
8. His head snaps back as the sand flys up into his face. Shaking his head erratically he paws at his face while turning to look for Sheal. He expected something like this and was able to sheild his eyes from most of the sand, however he was to slow and his vision was now partially impared by the gritty substance. The air disturbance that travelled past him gave him an idea as to where the fallen had gone. Shaking his head he cast his gaze up towards Sheal, wincing slightly as the suns rays filtered through the fallen's wings. This one had strategy that was for sure. Growling softly from between clenched teeth he readied his shining blade, his long dark hair dancing about his face as the air current flew around him. "Come and get me cur!" He shouted defiantly, his vision blurring slightly as his eyes watered against the dirt lodged there. The sun glinted across his metal breastplate as his blade shone with divine light.
9.
Originally posted by Shinji Ikari I know In my heart God is real is real, after all the spiritual encounters and what the Lord has done to transform my life, I cannot think of anything like it being fake. considering I wasn't a full on believer in christ when they happened, I prayed and sung at church, but didn't believe, so I don't think you could just put it down to hype. "for the fool hath said unto his heart, There is no God"-Isaiah the last quote is explanitory as to why for some users choose to ignore my call btw.
Oh I don't think it's hype, been going on to long for it to be hype. If you believe in God then fair enough...but I myself really have no wish to convert myself. I don't particularly like the idea, I prefer to go my own way in the way of religious beliefs. I may be a fool, but I have no reason to believe there is a God. Oh now I'm not saying that there isn't something out there, I'm just not saying that it's God in all his powerful, world creating wisdom. They're just stories. To me anyway...hey you don't believe in Vishnu, but who's to say he's not real...hey they could be the same thing. *ponders* now I'm getting myself started...
10. I do read the bible, I just choose not to believe in it's teachings. I prefer to make my own comfort zone and not submit to the big ol' dictator in the sky. Fair enough, have your heaven and hell and I'll have my reincarnation...I'll race ya lol.
11. OOC: Umm...not meaning to be irritating or anything but aren't you supposed to be the angel od death sky? It doesn't seem very deathlike to me at the moment.
12. That rings a bell, with the whole girl lying about her town being destroyed and stuff. Grrr, that's got me thinking now, ack.
13. Hey now, there's no need to bring in little snipes of animosity like that now is there? No need at all. You ever heard of the phrase 'if you can't say something nice don't say it at all'? Try using it sometime, it might grow on ya.
14. OOC: Righty ho *cracks knuckles* ---------------------------------- The clash of swords rang across the valley as the two angels fought, a twist of feathers and flesh. Raising his sword arm he brought his sword to bare against the downward strike of Sheal's blade, straining slightly under the force. Lashing out with his left arm he deflected the lunge of the dagger, the point only managing to score a thin trail of angelic blood up his arm. Wincing he broke away from Sheal and readied his next attack even as he watched Sheal decended to the valley floor. Frowning he watched intently as the dark angel crouched there then pushed off to ascend once more towards him. The dagger was no longer visible, having been sheathed. Uriel's eyes glanced from between Sheal's unsheathed blade and the fisted hand held at his side, something wasn't quite right. Uriel flapped his great wings to gain more alititude as his opponent came racing towards him. "Come for me fallen, let's see what tricks adorn thy sleeve," Uriel muttered from between clenched teeth as he stole himself for the second confrontation, his sword leveled before him.
15. A true friend is someone who knows the song in your heart, and can sing it back to you when you've forgotten the words.
16. I just class anime among my other cartoons...well not cartoons cos cartoons are comic in style, like DBZ and Dexters Lab and stuff. These are animations, but getting off that. I don't find them being any superior just because they are 'anime', I mean seriously, do you find German animations better because they are German? Of course not, it's just a different style of drawing. I also believe that it gives you a false sense of belonging to a japanese culture. Would you praise Japan as much if it did not produce anime? Maybe. I don't know you all...but I think it stems from this. Yes they do provide things not normally seen on TV and this provides a greater view on things. You've also got to remember that it is all just a form of entertainment and not to be taken amazngly seriously. ^_^. It's still cool though.
17. OOC: *sits and waits for ShadO MagE to post since it's hardly far to do all the fighting oneself*
18. Don't even get me started on the concept of time. It's linear and unable to be effected once it's happened or not happened whatever the case may be, once you knock the domino at the back over you can't go back and right it if you're the domino at the front. I refuse to get anymore in depth otherwise I'll be here all day.
19. Seriously, granted fighting hurts people but it's a natural occurence really and there's very little you can do about it. It's been going on for centuries so if you talk about mankind losing it you're going to have to analyse primates and other animals too..granted the don't go to war on eachother but it's pretty close.
20. lot's of interesting discussions going on here. It seems I've started something. Maybe when you die that's it, there's nothing after it or what, of course I don't know but that's what speculation is all about. Maybe it's pointless and fruitless and we don't know until it happens..but that still doesn't mean that we can't wonder yeah? Okay so even if you don't believe in religion, do you believe in science? In the possibility of countless other realities parallel to our own? And maybe when we die we trancend that barrier into another reality, hows that for scientific probability.
21. The clash of weapons could be heard deafening about him as Uriel sped towards his intended target. His sword shon in his hand like divine fire as he launched himself at Sheal. Twisting in midair he brought his blade down in an arch towards the other angel, only to be met steel on steel by Sheal's own blade. Leaning in he grinded the two blades together, sparks flickering about the contacted weapons. Gripping the hilt with both hands he backed off suddenly and swung at his opponent once more, aiming for the head. Sheal ducked swiftly, narrowly missing the blade as it whistled by his ear. The fight was a blurr to all onlookers, mortal and divine alike, as the two powers clashed like Titans in the air. Sheal lunged forward with his dagger, the point glancing off the polished metal of Uriel's breast plate, scoring a deep scratch along it's side. The ringing clash of blades was an overture to the airbourne dance that was witnessed.
22. I think that it's too difficult to decide what power you'd like to have, because there are so many different options you could have. I mean I'd like to do loads of things, like teleport or fly or read minds or influence a material etc...it's difficult to choose. Also, powers influence you in different ways, there's no saying how you'd act until you got those powers. You might think you're a good person, but faced with the ability to control people's brains...you'd be surprised how volitale the human will is. But mainly I'd like to have agility and object maniuplation, like Pyro or Magneto ^_^
23. I like that one fire. Yes, that one is an interesting theory, and probably the most comforting, which is really all this is. yes well I suppose you can hate a point of view. However, I think religion has some merit. It gives people hope doesn't it? Granted it also gives people excuses to do terrible things, but they're still just excuses and I think that they'd do them with or without religion. I like religion, mainly on a basis of the diversity of them all and yet the similarities are endless..it's all so interesting.
24. *whistles* Whoa there...slow down on the anti-religious crusade there. There is no reason to call religion wrong, or trashing other people's beliefs now is there? There is no wrong here, only a different point of view.
25. His head snaps to the side where Sheal, the chaos angel had dived off the cliff and into the fray. The wind wipped about Uriel's dark hair as a divine halo shone about his head, spreading over his body as his form shifted to that of the Lord's Holy Prophet. Great ivory coloured wings spread out from his shoulder blades, his torso glittering silver with plated armour, his bare arms held out by his wings. A white pleated skirt fluttered about in the wind, the air tugging at his white pants underneith. Bare feet pressed into the earth as Uriel stepped forward towards the edge of the cliff, grains tumbling down into the mass. Unsheathing his blade, red and orange flames dancing benieth the steel he raised it above his head and roared, his voice a heraled that all angels took heed of. "Sheal!" Uriel's voice boomed across the void "Seek thine own mercy for I shall yeild thee none!" And here, the shining form of Uriel, the Fire of God, flew aloft from his position and took up arms in this holiest of wars.
