Hell, I'd like to think i would fight for those I love and for my ideals. Then again, I don't realy know unless it comes down to it, I have a horrible feeling that I would stand back. Of course if it really came down to it i would...it's kind of a gut feeling. I'm a semi-pacifist myself, I don't like to fight but it happens sometimes...human nature. I hope never to be in the position to fight for my family and friends, other than to stand up to an opinion, primarily because I'm scared to think I might run. You gotta give me a reason to fight...otherwise I'm just the aftermath fixer, but I do love my friends and I just wish i was stronger.

No he can't, Spider man cannot shoot webbing from his wrists, he can only do that in the movie and as a fan of comic and animation I have to point it out. Of course it it so much cooler if he could do that instead of having those cartridges that run out at the most inappropriate times.

Batman isn't a super hero, he's a detective. granted he' a detective in a bat costume but he's still a detective. I'm not dissing him here btw, since practically the only DC I read is batman and Batman related spin offs aka, Birds of Prey, Nightwing, Batgirl Etc

Defenitly (sp?) spiders, I hate spiders...what do they need all those legs for anyway and have you seen the way the scuttle *shudders*. Having said that I won't kill one, I have to either trap it myself or get someone else to trap it and take it out to the garden or summat. I'm not claustrophobic as such it's only when my head's covered, like when I went caving some really small spaces there and I was perfectly fine...I guess it's because I knew I could get out ya know? I also have a fear of needles, but maybe that's just the pain factor...ironic that i agreed to give blood at work, that just proves how much of an idiot I really am lol.
Originally posted by Ruby Batman but that's been picked...So then Gambit!(X-Men) With the flaming cards that blow up. Hehee he just has some of the coolest powers! *Hugs pic of Gambit*
Oh yes...exactly, if anyone has seen my banner and avatar previously yu'll know what I'm talking about. You can't get much better than the Rajun Cajun *chuckles* all charm and danger, that's probably why Batman appels to me so much. Of course I am totally into DC at the moment and have become quite attatched to Batman's lil buddy Nightwing (okay his not that little anymore but it's hard to let go lol) ya gotta love Dick Grayson. Of course, when I think about the x-men non of them strike me as a "super hero". I dunno, I mean Super Man is a super hero...granted he's a pain in the *** but a hero non the less. Spider man is a super hero, so's Batman...but there are certain characters in Marvel that just don't fit under the whole cliché...to me anyway. I've had my input *wanders off to Forbidden Planet to see if the new issues of 'Birds of Prey' and 'Batman: Nevermore' have come in yet*

If I could be the President of the United States for just one day
Doukeshi replied to Phantom's topic in General Discussion
Well, if I was elected I throw a big huge party cuase I'd be the first British President of the United States, how did that happen *shrugs* I dunno. After that well...I'd buy a book called 'US Government for Dummies' and see where it goes from there, hey it's worked before -
Originally posted by Zidargh I don't know what I do, but I'm just losing emotion after emotion now and it's tearing me apart, but i know I can somewhat regroup all the parts of me again. I was just wondering if you've ever felt like this and what you do. For me, I focus and gain strength to finally counter it.
Yeah, you're not alone in these feelings, not at all. The feeling you get when you think about the next day and all you want to do is hit someone. The though of continuing makes you angry and sad and everything you used to do does nothing to cheer you up. You want to get out of here...but the thought of going anywhere else makes you ill. I'm very lucky, for me that feeling didn't last very long, for some it lasts for years. Maybe you should give variety in your life, ya know...learn a new language...take up a sport, maybe a martial art you know? I don't know what ur life is like...maybe u should get out more I dunno, meet new people. All I know si these feelings started to subside after I spent a weekend away, away from my normal life. If this continues indeffinetly you could try seeing a doctor...but believe me I can relate to you.

Hey there Yeah it was sweet, although I'm a romance writer myself so our styles might conflict, know what I mean. Anyway, I think that the ideas were good and it was well written, however, like baka said it did get a bit weak towards the end. Although it did give ya a nice warm feeling at the end.

OOC: Sorry about the delay guys I've been away for a couple of days. I'm back now so here's posting. --------------------------------------- Uriel Narrowed his eyes at the angel before him, feeling her anger roll from her in waves. "Enough Xaphania! Your threats are empty." Turning his his he gazes out across the valley at the approaching angel. He nodded his head to Xaphania and released her wrist, resting his hand on her winged shoulder. "Don't fear, this one is not of the fighting breed." Xaphania looked at him with incredulous eyes, spreading her wings further to dislodge his hand resting there. "I wasn't afraid of her..." Her voice trailed of as she bowed her head slightly, the remaineder of the sentance mumbled under her breath. Uriel glanced at her with a small frown before returning his attention to the approaching angel. His mind was still concearned with the one who had got away, however. Sheal was an angel filled with grief and Uriel could only think that misfortune would come from his actions.

Okay...let's see. Now soulmates don't necessarily have to be love at first sight, I mean like Bish said they might hate you but there'd be an attraction. I suppose it's an amazingly romantic ideal, I mean who are you supposed to know if this person you're with is your soulmate?

Uriel gazed at the angel opposite him with grave eyes. Her words were bitter this he could understand. She had been cast out many a millenia ago and this world did little to soften the attitude. Raising his hand slowly he lightly trails his finger across her cheek. She backs away, a confused look on her face and he withdraws. "You are wrong Xaphania," his words were quietly spoken as he regarded her with compasionate eyes. "He hath cast out those who would destroy the peace of heaven, and thou shalt be welcome with open arms once thy sins hath been repented." Xaphania's face darkened with anger as she approached Uriel swiftly, her eyes blazing. "My sins?! Do you think this has anything to do with sin?" She swept her arms to indicate the angels dead and dying. "This is to fuel the tyrant's sick little game!" Uriel's hand shot out and he grasped her wrist firmly, his features hardening as he brought himself closer to her, his voice a fierce whisper. "You owe him your existence. This is his world, he created it, us..." he nodded down to the world below, "...them. Thy Lord is merciful but even his patience can be tested."
Originally posted by AJeh Well, say if everytime you go back in time, a parallel universe is created.. then all the paradox stuff wouldn't happen. See, you could go back in time and kill your grandfather or whatever. And then you wouldn't be born in that universe. But you yourself would still exist. Only then you wouldn't be able to get back to your own universe. And that sounds scientifical enough to me. o_o
Oh my God Dude!! That's the exact same conversation that my brother an I had just a few days ago...it's actually the same diagram he drew out for me too. This all came about when watching Enterprise (the episode where they encounter the Borg left behind by the movei first contact) Anyway, my argument was since Enterprise went back in time in First Contact to stop the Borg, wouldn't that then alter the timeline and make them aware of it in the first place..the Borg I mean. I'm making it sound confusing, and it probably was, but my point is he explained to me that if you went back in time then you would create a parallel universe where the events in the timeline you originated would continue, only without you. You would then be taken back to the point you came from, only in a different timeline..where the effects of your interference had taken place. So technically speaking you have a pivot, or many pivots, along a single line and from these pivots many offshoots occur whether it's because of outside interference or because of possibility outcomes.

OOC: *wonders where everyone went* ---------------------------------- The angel's mighty wings beat through the air with graceful power, the thermals raising up from the heated valley floor letting him soar effortlessly through the sky. The sun was now setting, casting a golden orange glow upon the scene of chaos below him. The battle would go on through the night, the war even longer. The orange sphere sunk low in the sky and the scene was almost beautiful, casting a majestic light upon the figure of Uriel. Sensing another angel approach Uriel lowered his wings slightly and stops slowly, hovering in the cooling air. His stern gaze concentrated on the approaching shape. He needed no distractions from his duty, but in truth it was difficult to fly during the night time hours, due to the lack of heat coming from the ground to create lift. Raising his hand he pointed it towards the oncoming angel. "State your business!" His voice was commanding and echoed across the cliffs. He could now make out the face of the figure and exhaled a soft breath, a murmured word escaping his lips. "You..."

Sounds like an interesting encounter Bishie ^_~, humans are a strange little species ne. First kiss huh...well this isn't something you'd call romantic. I was 15 and it was during a game of spin the bottle and this guy, always spun it on me and the first time he kissed me he had a mouthfull of beer and a kind of tandom swallow thing happened, it was really weird and kinda gross. We weren't going out or anything but it was nice after that initial beer flavoured score *chuckels*.
Originally posted by Red When I compare it to that tiny town in Ireland - people were so concerned with what happened and all pulled through to help the girl who was raped. It was all over the local news for weeks, updates being given priority over major news articles in the newspapers. In London, the news of a man being burnt to death in front of his children is overwritten by the news of a Royal Family member starting at a new school. It makes me sick - that a man who died an agonising death can be brushed aside so easily, but then I remember this is London, and thats how things work. I think every large city works like that.. and one like London certainly holds millions of terrible secrets that shall never be uttered, because how a person high in society does in their sex life is more important.
It's true, that's how the tabloids work, but since such a thing is an everyday occurence if the newspapers covered every single one then there would now room for anything else. People would stop buying the papers, sick of seeing page after page of pain and death and depressing, possibly soul destroying images. This might be over doing it a bit but this world would sink even deeper into it's muddy pit if everywhere you turned death would be staring you in the face. It is truly sad that such a thing is so common place but there isn't much anyone can do about it. Granted the f***er who raped your friend should have been castrated and locked up for 30 years, but that's not how the world works anymore. My advice is, the best possible thing you can do other than join the police force or become a vigilante is to go live in a small village in Ireland and be happy.

Well...nothing famous where I live exactly but in the city nearest to where I live, newcastle and the surrounding area, there was the child killer Mary Bell. I don't know if any of you folks who don't live in Britain know about her but she was about 11, 12, 13 or summat when she killed about three small boys on different occasions. I think it was three anyway...I'm a little sketchy on the details but she's under identity protection now. Oh yeah..and a friend of mines dad was accused of being the yorkshire ripper, PM me if you want details on that guy (the yorkshire ripper I mean, not my friends dad lol)

Anime Yaoi/shonen-ai: what's the attraction?
Doukeshi replied to Utena_Tenjou's topic in Otaku Central
Okay here goes... Now, to me as a fan of yaoi not all male/male pairings are attractive. For instance I don't particularly think Shinji and Kawrou (?) make a good couple (no offense to any of those who do). It's just a different angle on looking at things. Most guys involved in Shounen-ai or yaoi pairings, canon or not, are often portrayed as being more feminine than they possibly are in the actual show (unless of course you're watching Gravi in which Yuki is just a cold b****d lol). Anyway, I don't think it's something to get offended over. It's like getting offended when fans create other non-canon pairings such as zechs/une in gundam wing or yui and hotohori in fushigi yuugi. It really doesn't effect you unless you go looking for it. Like I said, it's just an alternative and most of the time it's a harmless piece of sweet and shounen-ai/yaoi (also known as slash in non anime circles) can actually produce some amazingly good fics. Like Vertigo said there's very little distinction. I think you're just taking offense at the notion of homosexuality. You can dislike it, like you dislike any pairing straight or not. I steer clear of wufei/sally unless it's written well, cos it just doesn't appeal to me but I quite like zechs/noin so I'm not just attracted to yaoi/shounen-ai pairings see. It's just petty to take offense at something that's not directed at you. -

Mutant Power: Object manipulation e.g turning gass to solid, solid to liquid. He can change an object such as a ball into liquid...but once he solidifies it it won't be a ball anymore. Bio: Matt was a theif in Chicago as a kid growing up, good talent for a theif, being able to melt walls. He was always a loner, not really good with teams. Oh sure maybe he was contracted to work with a few guys...but it never lasted after the contract. He's heard of the x-men, who hasn't and it was one guy who inspired him to take this step towards posible justice..Remy Le Beau, legendary among the underworld, the great leader of the New Orleans Theives Guild. Personality: He's quiet, but confident and quite charming when he wants to be. He's always been good, in his own way...he draws the line at taking a life, no matter who's.

Uriel sighed as Sheal dove from the cliff on which he was perched. The back draft from the angels powerful wings swept through Uriel's hair and his long coat billowed out behind him. Running a gloved hand through his long hair he closed his eyes. "Oh Lord, hast thou truly forsaken this who was your servant?" His tone was low and he bowed his head as if listening to a voice as a crash of thunder echoed over the noise and clamour of battle in the air. He nodded and gazed into the distance and direction which Sheal had taken his deceased love. "Very well...thy will be done." Uriel stepped back slightly and dove from the cliff, his arms spread wide in a swan dive. As he fell rapidly to earth a blinding light engulfed his body burning away this human facade and revealing the Archangel's true form once more. Spreading his wings he took to the air, following the path Sheal took...to what ends his divinity could not reveal.
Originally posted by MillieFan I find the fan-created relationships between Heero and Duo and between Quatre and Trowa to be incredibly annoying. I mean, even granting that the yaoi fans were *right* (which I am not doing), those matches are some of the most mismatched there are.
I know this like the second thread I've questioned the yaoi disagreement with ya Millie and I'm sorry cos I don't mean it personnally but seriously, Quatre and Trowa were meant to be together, true Heero/Duo is almost as annoying as Heero/Relena (cos Heero was just meant to live a lonely unloved life lol)..but who else are you going to pair them with. Trowa/Catherine is just bordering on incest and Quatre/Noin was not meant to be (cheers Zechs/Noin) Oh yeah and I'm a sucker for happy endings so
that ending where Zidane and Garnet were reunited just got to me ^_^
Anyway, couples I don't like...Miaka and Tamahome, just because Miaka is almost as whiny as Shinji from Evangelion and should be shot, figuratively speaking anyway.
-
My parents really don't care what I watch, I don't even think they're aware...well my dad kinda is but he's so laid back it's untrue. I don't particularly want to get onto a yaoi argument here, there's probably a completely different thread for that but it's just the same as pairing up non-canon hetro couples, why's it sickening?

Uriel backed up as Sheal dove for the ground. Folding his wings across his back he followed him, the wind wipping through his hair and across his body. He watched as the angel suddenly cried out and changed his motion, streaking towards the town nearby. He unfurled his wings and caught a gust of air, slowing his decent as he continued to watch the angel hit the ground and for his human guise, sprinting to the cluster of buildings. Uriel frowned deeply, deciding not to follow Sheal. Frowning he raised his arm sharply to ram his sword hilt into the face of a fallen trying to attack him from behind. He continued to fight, his sword whirling death until he caught sight of Sheal once more. The angel had a body in his arms as he flew towards the mountain range. Quickly dispatching the angle he faught he turned sharply and made his way towards Sheal. Reaching the mountains he reverted back to his human facade, the soft glow returning to within his body. His sword remained and this he sheathed underneith the long dark coat that he wore. Walking slowly he made his way towards Sheal, his booted feet compressing the brittle grass underfoot. He stood a few feet away, looked down upon the crouched figure of the fallen angel and the dead woman beside him. "She was a beautiful woman in life and for your loss I grieve." Uriel's words were solemn as he spoke them, his tone conveying true sorrow.

Sarien peered over the ledge on which she sat frowning slightly as the music suddenly stopped. Two quick chords followed in quick succession as she looked down into the forest. Voices could be heard down below, it seemed that a crowd had gathered down below. Raising to her feet she dusted off her pants and folded her arms across her chest, seems like that was the place to be. Exhaling a long breath she began her decent down the side of the cliff face, quickly finding the hand holds and footholds that woul help her scale it sucessfully. Reaching the forest floor she followed the sound of the voices, lightly brushing the dirt and grit from her single sleeve. Walking slowly, her booted feet making impressions upon the leaf strewn floor, she approached the gathering. As soon as she could see the group she halted and leaned against a towering oak, her arms folded across her chest and listened intently.
