  1. REALLY bored, listening to recitation's of Mark Antony's funeral oration ("Romans, friends, countrymen, lend me your ears. I come... hang on, I know it, er..."), so I sketched this in summer school. The shading's off and chi's cheek is kinda pointy, but it's okay.
  2. Yeah, Sailor Moon stuff, but it was a request. Legs are slightly out of proportion, but thats okay.
  3. Yeah, Sailor Moon stuff, but hey it was a request, and it was Raye Hino. I personally like the crows/ravens/black birds. (Ugh, the legs are all out of proportion...)
  4. Eh, who cares about materials? The winners last time did theirs in black and white, no cg or tone or anything. Good luck, OtakuSennen. We need more of the younger generation into this anyway.
  5. I'm just curious: Who all are doing the Tokyopop manga competition? And what do you think about them actually having this contest?
  6. Eh, after a second glance at the Rising Stars of Manga compilation, the aspiring artists tend to get things out of proportion, but hey, who am I to talk about it? Good luck all of you entering this year!
  7. The compilation manga is interesting, since you see everything other people did. I would have bought it if I had money just so I could study the differences, styles, etc. but since I didn't, I just skimmed through it in Borders. Yes, I would like to be a manga-ka, no I don't think it'll happen... still, I did think up a sweet plot.
  8. Three "stories" 1)We got a rabbit stuck in the heater once, and a hamster... or two. 2)My friend was yelling about some sort of injustice, ending with "So throw me out a window." Another acquaintance took her at her word and lobbed her out of a second story window. 3)There was this 6th grader doing pot and was stupid enough to stick it in the lining of his binder. The science teacher caught him with it, and he bolted out the door. The DARE officers were sent after him, so when you look out the window you see this kid with 2 officers running after him. My science teacher sent this other kid after him, so this kid just jumped out the window to catch him.
  9. But what causes cells to age is the question. Time, duh, but what is it? Time is a nonspatial continuum in which events occur in apparently irreversible succession from the past through the present to the future. And of course being a continuum means no one segment of time can be distinguished from neighboring parts except by arbitrary division. But what sort of matter is it? What causes time to occur?
  10. Yeah, this is my first banner, and some of the quality of the pics I used were iffy in the first place. Still, it was theraputic when drawing my own stuff ended up pretty much looking like scribbles.
  11. 1 little word of advice. Use a ruler. ^-^ Yeah, but great work in the sketches. Um, so, you're entering Tokyopop's manga contest? Good luck!
  12. Damn, your friend's good. The cg is awesome, too.
  13. Huh? Well, I think it's a plot hole, since the box was already covered in those spell-things. (The strips of paper? Not really into Shinto, or whatever the religion is.) Unless, because Kagome shattered the jewel in the past, it performed complications in the near future, so that means that her ancestors were already having trouble with the mask... Aaah! I'm confused. *~*
  14. I'm interested, but my artwork's quality is still pending. I'll have some free time this summer, but, well... let's say I'm still going through the "finding own style" stage.
  15. We need to figure out exactly what sort of matter time is before we can alter it, and since there is no straight definition, I don't think we'll be messing around with it. I mean, is it electricity, particles of hyperspace? Something humans have named, but they have no idea of? I suppose it could just be atoms moving constantly and frequently, but we all know what happens when you split an atom.
  16. What I meant in my earlier post was only that as otakus we have a slight tendancy to object to a life without any slight romance/angst/adventure/anything out of the normal. Maybe "mundane" was the wrong word.
  17. If the earth stopped orbiting around the sun, all organisms will die except two narrow strips that live in reasonable temperatures, I think... If someone could go back in time, no one would probably know, including that person unless he/she could manipulate his/her body matter so he/she couldn't go back also. If we could harness and determine what thought is, I'm sure we could figure out exactly what sort of matter time is to be manipulated.
  18. On some article I read, it said that otakus "snub" other people and look down on them for being different/ are unwilling to try anime. But hey, that article was, like, 30 years ago. Or, maybe 20... 10? Don't really remember, but it was around the time when this Tokyo serial killer was found to be an otaku. Anyway, I think that being "into anime" makes you more willing to try newer/dangerous things, so you're open minded to Romance, adventure, stuff like that. Then, you're close minded to those who are consumed with mundane, day to day things.
  19. I enjoy most of the Bebop songs, especially if the melody is real easy to pick up on a piano. Except maybe Ave Maria. (It was supposed to be a duet, Sonya. *grr*) Inuyasha's good, too.
  20. Okay, I've got the results I needed. (Oops, didn't I tell you I needed them for an assignment ^-^)Thanks everyone!
  21. Hey, Mitch what dictionary did you use? I remember the time I did that to my bio teacher... *snickers, then slaps self* Anyway, what's beauty but just something to classify other people and put some down? Are we discussing visual beauty, because I find that it hardly nourishes the senses and soul, other than sight. Beauty is, to me, what you can see in the eyes of another. If they have a serene, tranquil look. *scratches head, confused at what the point was supposed to be* Well, I'd sooner read a "beautiful story" than see a "beautiful human." Anime is something else, though, because it's an attempt to capture both. Note "attempt."
  22. Right, I get this feeling that this might be closed soon, but... *glances at James* I find it quite interesting that the threads to evolution are closed so quickly. I searched the forums, and get nothing but digimon and pokemon to the words evolution on anything before December 2002. Oh, and another previously closed thread.-_-. Some of us are quite knowledgable on the topic. I've been researching the debate topic for three years, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who's had a great interest in the debate for and against evolution. I think we should be able to at least start a new thread for this year. C'mon, I need some way to practice debates with plausible clauses. Besides, do you know WHAT they're jamming down our throats in high school biology? I think we're all up to par to discuss this topic. Anyone else agree?
  23. Such a large range of what many people truly are. Silent... not an option for me if it's a topic I care about. I guess some people regard me as book smart, but I have 0 common sense. I draw. I have emotions. I rebel against the clearly stupid "authorities." I guess I'm a little bit of everything ... except an athlete. (My time on the mile, when I last ran it, was about seventeen minutes.)
  24. I hide IRL,but spout like a moron online. After all, I'm actually discussing this topic, right? Thing is, IRL, your emotions are out there, and anyone can read them. I guess I'm really just a little more serious and self-critical online than in the world. It's just that the world is so small and inconspicous, there's really no point to baring yourself before it.
  25. Theoretically, nothing can be proven. Pain cannot be proven to anyone other than yourself, color can definately NOT be proven, but existence... That's difficult. And, what exactly is existence? Just "to be" is not enough of a defination. Are we discussin physical, mental, or just overall existence.
