Xeshiur was infuriated. Few Halbreed wanted to participate in this "suicide mission." And that Zaius! How dare he be so cowardly! He and his troops, with no room in Thira Town for an extra hundred Halbreed, had camped at a beach a few miles from the place. We will be back, Xeshiur thought. Nobody will keep us from my goal! Nobody... Ibs went over to Xeshiur, who had been kneeling alone, away from his men. Ibs wondered if this was the same Xeshiur he had met many years ago. Ibs: Hey, Xeesh. You okay? Xeshiur: I am fine. I was thinking, friend... How could one who is old enough to remember what happened here, still refuse to fight? Ibs looked in Xeshiur's direction. There was Zaius, standing in the water, hunting for something. Sethes, probably. Ibs sighed. Ibs: Maybe... Maybe it's because he is old enough to remember what happened here. Xeshiur looked at the elf. Never before had he seen such a look of wisdom on that scrawny face. Xeshiur: He will learn to fight. I shall see to that. And if not, he will die... Ibs jumped at this. He looked at him, scared. Ibs: Xeshiur, you're not gonna kill him, are you?! Xeshiur: I never said that. If he will not fight with us, then he is expendable. I will not lift one paw, or order my men to do the same, if he would be attacked by Humes. You heard me say this before, to him. Ibs: Oh, Xeesh. What's happened to you? Xeshiur glared at him. Xeshiur: I've been given an opporitunity, Ibs. You must understand that I will not... stand by as the Humes push another race back. I cannot. Ibs: But Xeshiur, you must understand that a direct attack won't threaten the the Humes at all. I mean... they're the Humes. They got all these special gizmos and watchamacalits. You don't stand a- Xeshiur: Ibs, do you not have something you should be doing right now? Xeshiur narrowed his eyes at Ibs, partly for effect but partly because the campfire behind Ibs's head was bright, especially in the dark. Ibs's face went blank. His eyes closed, his eyelids flutterd, and when he openened them, he looked normal again. Ibs: I sure do. You're the boss, Xeesh! But yeah, how'll I get there? Hmm... Wait, I have an idea. I have a... an old acquaintance... a friend, you could say. She has a ship, she could take me there. And I know just how to reach her... Ibs reached into his bag of notebooks, recordings of supposed possible treasure sites. From it he produced a small bottle full of a reddish-orange powder. He took some in a hand, and blew it in front of him. Remarkably, it seemed to ignite, and a small wall of fire floated in front of them. To Xeshiur's amazement, a face appeared in the blaze! It was that of an elf, a female. Xeshiur thought she was rather attractive, for an elf. She looked shocked, but that shock soon turned to fear. Ibs: Ami! How's it goin'? It's me, Ibs, your best buddy in the whole wide world! Listen, I need a favor- Voice 1: Hey, is that magic? Voice 2: Oh, not on Verdun, it's not! That stuff's so illegal here! Get her! Ami: Oh, real great Ibs, I'm on Verdun! This sent a startled look to Ibs's face. He cringed. Ibs: Eee... That's bad. Well ah, yeah, I guess I'll... um... see you later or something, bye! Sorry! Ibs quickly flicked his wrist, and the face vanished. He looked at Xeshiur, whose face said, "What the heck was that all about?" Ibs: Oh, don't worry about Ami, she'll be fine... I think. I hope. He sighed. Ibs: Whew, is it hot, or is it just me? Xeshiur thought nothing of that comment. The ants never came to mind, for he hadn't seen them burning... Ibs: Well, I guess there's only one other way to get where I need to go... Ibs walked out of the jungle, into the evening, onto the beach, and straight past the hunting Zaius. Xeshiur sighed. One more unneeded hassle...

But Justin, why should I "go along with it" when it is in fact a ridiculous question that denies the laws of nature? Late morning... The Halbreed Army was nearing Thira Town. Thira Town itself wasn't nearly as large as Windhyte Village. But to a five-year-old Xeshiur, it was a huge metropolis. Xeshiur recognized the familiar trees on the outskirts of the town, and he fought back tears of nostalgia and fear. He didn't know how he would be welcomed back, if he would be at all. Xeshiur raised his arm, signaling everyone to stop, about 200 feet from the town gate. Two Halbreed were waiting there, though they have not yet noticed the camalflouged Halbreed in the trees. There was no need for guards to be standing there when I first fled, Xeshiur thought. Why would there be any now? He turned to the Halbreed and whispered to no one in particular: Xeshiur: Has Thira Town been informed of our coming? One Halbreed in the back raised his paw. Judging by his bow and arrows, Xeshiur could tell he was a Halbreed Runner. Xeshiur: Yes, you. What do you know? Runner: Me and several others came here earlier and shot messages of what was on people's doors. Xeshiur: I see. Well, it would seem as though the element of suprise is no longer with us. Runner, you do realize that you and your friends no longer have the trust of me and the army? Runner: Sir? Xeshiur: When we go into battle, I expect a certain amount of performance from each and every one of my men. Your lack of respect for the Halbreed Army may cost you your life when we fight. So, to avoid waiting... SHWEEEEENGGGG!!! The Runner dropped dead by The Saber. Everbody else looked at Xeshiur, fearful and obedient. Xeshiur: Now, let us march. And march they did. Right out of the forest and to the two suprised Halbreed standing guard. Xeshiur walked confidently past them, but one of the guards grabbed his arm. Guard 1: Sir, who are you, and why do you have such a large group with you? Xeshiur looked at him, cocked an eyebrow, and looked back at his people. This triggered laughs directed at the guard. Xeshiur quieted them and shook his arm free. Xeshiur: I am General Xeshiur Quyt, Leader of the Almaran Army. Now, step aside before I order my men to attack. We wish peace on our fellow Halbreed, but resistance will not be met with fear... The first guard stepped aside, while the other one fled, shouting, "Zaius, they're here!" Xeshiur wondered who in the hell this Zaius was, and whether or not he would be friendly. The Almaran Army marched into the city. Halbreed everywhere stood and stared. Some looked frightened, some were aggressively happy. Some had blank looks on their faces. Xehsiur stopped. Forty feet away, stood a hut. Its position in relation to the town was hauntingly familiar. Xeshiur again raised his arm, as the Halbreed again stopped. He walked carefully to the hut. His hut. His family's hut. But... it had been destroyed... Had someone, some fool built over the burned remains? This idea triggered such immense hatred in Xeshiur that he dropped to his knees, faced the sky and howled in rage. The hut's door opened. An aging Halbreed, probably about sixty years old, stood in the doorway. He had the look of someone who could be respected, someone you could take advice from. How could you, Xeshiur thought. You itch-ka!* Zaius: Hello... May I... help you? Xeshiur: GrrrrrrROOOOOOOOWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!! In a blinded rage, Xeshiur pounced and tackled the Halbreed... *Itch-ka - Halbreed curse word, very very cruel.

Early morning... Xeshiur was kneeling at the edge of a cliff, overlooking the sea. He was alone, about a mile from Windhyte Village and his army. Verdun is that way, Xeshiur thought. His anger rose again, and he howled in rage and agony. He bowed his head, and saw a small ant hill. Ants were busy crawling in and out of the hill, doing ant things. Xeshiur smiled. His eyes glowed, and he placed a finger next to the hill. The ants stopped, and formed a line next to his finger. Xeshiur dragged his finger along the ground, and the line followed. Xeshiur sighed. Xeshiur: Small pleasures... in a cruel world... CLUNK A stone bounced off of Xeshiur's back. He turned, and saw only the trail leading back to Windhyte Village. And a large rock. He heard heartbeats, and smelled elf. Xeshiur: Ibs, I know that you are behind that boulder. If you do not come out by the count of three, I will pick up that boulder and crush you with it. One... Ibs sprang from the boulder as if it were on fire. He grinned. Ibs: Aw, Xeesh. You have no sense of humor. That's sad. I'll have to help you with that sometime. Hey how's yer hammock? Xeshiur looked at him. Xeshiur: It is... fine. Ibs, did you want something, or were you simply planning to throw pebbles at me? Ibs: As fun as that would be, no. Actually, I was just wondering if you had really thought this out. I mean, you're talkin' about war here. And, c'mon, look around you. Xeshiur did. The trees were lush, tall, green, and beautiful. The early morning sun gave a peacful glow to everything. Far in the distance, past the dirt path, were the scenic Kalhyt Mountains. Below them, the tranquil sea threw itself at the sweet shore. Heaven. Ibs: This is an awesome place we live in, Xeesh. Do you really wanna tear it apart? Xeshiur: The Humes already have, friend. Someone has to stop them. Ibs thought about this. Ibs: But what about Oleron, or Esperna? Do you even know if they want to fight? Because even with all the Halbreed in Gaia on your side, I'd still place my money on Verdun. No offense. He quickly added the "No offense," part when he saw Xeshiur clutch The Saber. Xeshiur: Actually, I have been thinking about that. I will need your cooperation on this. Ibs: What are you talking about? Xeshiur recalled the ants. He looked down, and saw them once again doing their little ant errands. He wondered... Xeshiur stood and looked at Ibs. His eyes once again began to glow. It took a while, but soon enough Ibs was limp, under a trance. Xeshiur: Perfect. Now Ibs, listen closely. Are you listening? Ibs: Yes... Xeshiur... Xeshiur: Good. Now, once we get to Thira Town, you will find some way to get to Esperna and Oleron. You will gather followers in my name. You will organize Elfin and Quart armies, and will begin attacks on Verdun whenever you are ready. Do you understand? Ibs: Go to... Oleron... Esperna... After Thira Town... Make Elfin/Quart Amry... Attack Verdun when ready... Xeshiur: Perfect. Xeshiur turned away, facing the rising sun. It was warm and strengthening. Ibs: Hey, Xeesh, I came up with this really great idea a while ago... I think. How about, when we get to Thira Town, I find some way to get to Esperna and Oleron, to organize an Elfin/Quart Army against Verdun. We'll attack when ready, then you can join up with us when you're ready. How does that sound? Xeshiur grinned an evil grin... Xeshiur: That sounds excellent, my friend. I am amazed you thought of it. Ibs: Yeah, me too. Xeshiur began to walk back to Windhyte Village, where his army was waiting to begin the long trip to Thira Town. Ibs followed. At the edge of the cliff, the ant pile was burning...

It was night time. Xeshiur stood outside his remote hut, looking at the sky. The full moon illuminated his face, and a cool breeze swept lightly over his body. The fireplace in his hut flickered and faltered at the wind, so Xeshiur closed the door and strolled down the soft dirt path. The lush trees swayed gently around him. The beautiful night birds were chirping and hooting, flapping their wings, and firing lasers. Firing lasers? A beam of bright light shot past Xeshiur and grazed his enormous arm. The hair and think skin burned, and his rippling muscles were melting away. Oh God, Xeshiur thought. He could see his own bone! Around him, dozens of Halbreed were screaming and running, not running in any direction, just scampering, panicked. One ran straight into Xeshiur in a scared frenzy, knocking him down onto the wooden floor. The fall snapped his exposed arm bone as if it were hollow. But he had to see what was outside the window. He crawled, despite his mother's pleading and crying. He reached the window and peaked over the edge. His father lay not five feet in front of him. Dead. Butchered. Massacred. The corpse's head rose, tearing itself from the bloodied threads of what remained of the neck. Meanwhile, a long line of Humes with advanced, peculiar, unrecognizable weapons were marching towards him. No, Xeshiur thought. They were going to kill his father, then him. Xeshiur returned his gaze to his father's smashed-in head. He watched as the lips formed the words: "Take The Saber, coward..." Xeshiur was terrified. Never before had he been so afraid. "The Saber, you coward..." He turned away, looking desperately for The Saber, but saw only the barrel of the Humes' weapon. "The Saber, coward..." TSEEEEW!!! Xeshiur: Arrrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhh!!! Xeshiur woke up, and again fell out of his newly repaired hammock. He lay on the floor for several seconds. He was panting horrendously. The dream... for the third time in four nights... so vivid... so... revealing... Xeshiur took The Saber and headed outside. About a hundred Halbreed were camped outside; the beginnings of the Almaran Army. Plans had only been in progress for hours, but training would begin soon. Though it was very late, nearly everyone was awake and eager. He had gained many followers in Windhyte Village, and would soon invade Verdun. Ibs: Hey, Xeesh, that you? Xeshiur: Yes, Ibs, it is I. Ibs: So, what do you plan to do? Xeshiur: These people will be made ready. Then we will invade Verdun to-- Ibs: Not so fast, fur face. You'll need more than a hundred Halbreed to take on the entire Hume race. What about the other cities in Almaran? Xeshiur: Other... cities? Ibs rolled his eyes. Ibs: Duh, the three other cities: the Almaran capital, Antakan City, Aquaduct Village and Th- Xeshiur: Thira Town, yes I know. Ibs looked at him. Ibs: Right... So if you're ever gonna have the slightest bit of hope against the Humes, you're gonna hafta go to other cities and draw them in. Xeshiur did know this all along, but he didn't want to admit the fact that he would have to return home. He sighed, then faced the Halbreed camped in front of him. Xeshiur: Fellow Halbreed! In the morning, we leave for Thira Town! We will gain more followers, and together we will make the Humes pay! This triggered cheers, hoops and hollers from the crowd. This will work, Xeshiur thought. But still, those dreams...

It was midafternoon in Windhyte Village. A crowd was gathering at the village square. Atop a crude podium was Xeshiur, ranting and raving. Ibs was standing next to him, not a part of this but enjoying himself nonetheless. Obviously, his rants were going unnoticed. A crowd of curious Halbreed were beneath him. Xeshiur: Fellow Halbreed! Listen! Decades ago, the Humes dared to challenge us, and with their cursed technology forced us back to one island! One, out of seven! Why we gave up was beyond me then, but now I realize the shame of the truth: We were weak! Now, the greedy Humes are moving on to the Elfin homeland. These weak-bodied gasthlas*wish to destroy the beautiful scenery and peace of Oleron! We cannot stay here and allow them to do this to our planet! We fought before, and lost, but where we faltered before we will succeed! We now know of their technology! We are prepared! Halbreed 1: What chance do we have of winning a battle against them? Their technology is far greater than we can imagine! Xeshiur: What we lack in fake weaponry will be overcome by our instincts. Our preparation! Our sheer strength! We will have also the element of suprise! The Humes will never know what hit them. Halbreed 2: How can we trust you, Xeshiur, when you yourself ran from the battle? Crowd: Yeah! These words stung Xeshiur deeply, but he refused to let it show. The Humes had to pay for what they did, and for what they are about to do. Xeshiur: Indeed, I did run. As a child, I... was untrained, unprepared... I was weak and frightened. But now I am a force to be reckoned with! These were met with scoffs and unbelieving shouts from the crowd. In fact, people were actually starting to throw things at Xeshiur! Halbreed 3: Prove it! We don't believe you!! Xeshiur closed his eyes for several seconds... People stopped throwing things and waited to see what he was doing... keeeeeEEEEEEEEEROOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!! Xeshiur's Howl Attack! Everyone recoiled from the ear-splitting blast. A few Halbreed started bleeding from the ears! Xeshiur: If you believe that is enough to earn your allegiance, then you are horribly mistaken. And with one swift movement, Xeshiur removed The Saber from its sheath, swung it over his head and into the air. The Halbreed who were still conscious looked up, beginning to doubt their safety. Xeshiur closed his eyes again, and to the Halbreed's amazement, The Saber stopped in midair, turned horizontal, with the sharp edge facing the crowd. It hung there for a few a seconds, but suddenly... SSHHHHHHHHEEEEEW!!!! The Saber moved forward with lightning speed, spinning boomerang-style, towards an abandoned hut some fifty feet away. A cloud of dust appeared, and when it settled, the hut was a pile of splintered wood, and The Saber was returned to Xeshiur's hand. Ibs: That sure wasn't the smartest way to prove yourself, but... eh. Xeshiur: Quiet. Actions are far more superior in getting attention than trivial words are. Ibs: Y'know, Xeesh, one of these days I'm gonna end up puttin' a spell on you that'll make you at least a little bit nicer. Xeshiur sighed. He didn't have time for this, but it was obviously important, at least to his friend. Xeshiur: Ibs, I am sorry. However, being nice is not my top priority at this moment. The Humes are wreaking havoc on Oleron! Ibs: But no one even knows for sure, Xeesh! It's just what most people think. I say wait a while, and get more information from friends overseas. Xeshiur: Grrr.... You can wait. I have no time! We must organize our powers as soon as Halbreedly possible! Xeshiur turned back to the crowd, who the whole time had been staring at Xeshiur's back. They were frightened by Xeshiur, but didn't want to run away like cowards. Xeshiur: Listen to me! If we are ever going to defeat the Humes once and for all, the time to organize an army is NOW! Cheers rose from the crowd, and several Halbreed males ran off to their huts, gathering their armor and weapons. Xeshiur began to step down, to greet the remaining crowd. Ibs grabbed one of his massive arms. Ibs: You're a fool, Xeshiur! You don't know what you're doing! The Humes are far too advanced, and you know it. Xeshiur shook his him free, sending Ibs flying several feet in front of him. Xeshiur: Am I a fool? Perhaps. But you, my friend, are a coward. And with that, Xeshiur disappeared into the crowd. *gasthla - Halbreed insult, meaning "weak one"

Bang, Bang, Bang! Xeshiur: .....uhhhh... Whaa...? Bang, Bang, Bang! The door to his hut was being struck by something! Was it a monster? Enemies? Was it hailing? Ibs: Xeshiur, are you there? Open up! Bah, it's just Ibs, Xeshiur reailzed. He shook his head, and rolled back onto the hammock where he was resting. That buck he carved was more work than expected. Ibs is a quite absent-minded elf living in Almaran. He left Oleron in search of a supposed hidden Halbreed fortune many years ago. Xehsiur and the other Halbreed, ironically, have never heard of this fortune before Ibs's arrival. Of course, he still hasn't found it. But through the years Ibs has befriended Xeshiur despite the lack of honor he's sure wafts from him. Ibs: Xeshiur, come out! It's important! Xeshiur ignored him. Ibs's idea of important is finding sticks on the ground that "surely somehow point to the treasure," or "suspicious" dirt mounds that suggest the treasure is in the sky. Ibs: Xeshiur, it's the Humes! They've attacked! Xeshiur jumped at this, and landed in a pile beneath the swinging hammock. He fought to stand up, got tangled in the hammock, and he ended up pulling the ropes from the ends of the walls. Neat little holes formed in the walls the ropes were nailed to. Xeshiur sighed. He opened the door, Saber in hand, prepared for the advanced fire of the Humes, Halbreed shouting, falling, and running. But the only thing outside his door was Ibs. He was looking at one of the new holes in the wall, half-smirking. Ibs: Lose your balance again? Xeshiur: Where are the Humes? Ibs: Humes? Who said anything about Humes? Xeshiur: Grrr... YOU did! Ibs: I did? Oh, yes, I did. Ibs stood there, clearly entertained. Xeshiur: Well??? Ibs: Well what? At this, Xeshiur picked Ibs up by his throat with one paw and pointed The Saber at him with the other. Xeshiur: I am not enjoying this game, elf. Tell me, NOW! ZZZZAAAAP!!! Ibs sparked Xeshiur with a weak version of his lightning spell. Still, it was enough to make Xeshiur drop him, stunned. Ibs landed on his knees, gasping. After a second he stood up chuckling. Ibs: Calm down, you beastly.... beast, and let me tell you. There are no Humes here. At least not yet. But who knows, with their techno-gizmobob thingys, they could, I don't know, beam o'er here and make everything metal anytime. No. I came 'ere to tell you that the Humes attacked Oleron. Or, at least that's what everyone's saying. I figured you wouldn't know, what with your antisocial lifestyle. Hey, how's your hammock? Xeshiur: The Humes, they attacked? And your homeland, no less! What do you plan to do? Ibs: Quite possibly the same thing I've been doing for years: searching for this elusive treasure. Hey, you have any idea where it is, 'cause I just realized what with you being a Halbreed and the treasure being Halbreed treasure that maybe just maybe you might have directions implanted into your instincts that I could extract with a new spell I been workin' on, and then you'll get a half of the treasure that you could use to buy the antidotes to cure the side effects from the the spell but I wouldn't worry if I were- SLAM! Xeshiur shut the door. So the Humes were starting again... Came a muffled voice from behind the door: Ibs: Well, just think about it! I'll see you later? Xeshiur, you hear me? Hey, Xeesh! But Xeshiur wasn't listening. The Humes... attacking... again. Excellent, Xeshiur thought... Excellent...

Beating Onox's first form is really easy. Just equip the sword and Roc's Feather. Keep the sword powered up and slash at him (With your back turned to him is easiest for me). When he tries to slash at you, just jump out of the way. Oh, and just move to a corner when stuff starts to fall on you. The odds will keep you more safe than not. When he draws what's-her-face (gah I can't believe I forgot it) to her as a shield, knock her away with the Rod of Seasons and keep slashing. Slash, jump, hit, slash, jump, hit, slash, jump, hit... Eventually he'll "die." Fall through the floor and face the invincible dark dragon thingy. Someone else help batch with that, I just barely get by him.

Lessee. The most extreme thing I've ever done on any kind of bike was riding off a 4 foot ledge. Heh, maybe if I knew there was a 4 foot ledge there I wouldn't have been riding backwards...

Um, I'm not entirely sure what you're saying, but stories do go in the stories/poetry section. Hope that helped. :D
Originally posted by Crazy White Boy I will yell at a game as soon as one learns how to yell back or hear me. For now, I'll have to settle for muttering profanities... I yell in my head a lot; I guess I'm just considerate to other peoples' ears. I seem to get more easily frustrated by strategy games. Who else feels like that?

Yes, I heard about this on the news. It's terrible that people have died, but these floods are apparently natural. And unless the water is acid rain, you can only blame nature. You'll just have to deal with it, I suppose. Are you experiencing these floods firsthand? If you are, then good luck, and keep your computer dry. :)

Okay I have a question that is vital to my character's development in the game. It seems that no one is noticing the attacks that were mentioned in the beginning of this thread. Is everyone simply ignoring them, or are they yet to happen? For Xeshiur's sake I hope they are in the future rather than the past. --Mike

I don't know why we're being so harsh. I mean, she just lost her children to a rapist, for crying out loud! I'm kidding. What she did was wrong. It was an accident, anyone can see that. But her lying about it is what really pisses me off.
