Fate

Fate is something people blame when they don't want to take responsibility for their stupid actions. When people say, "Oh, it was fate that we'd be together." when refering to relationships, that's only their brain having a stupid spasm. There is no such thing as fate. You are responsible for making the actions that lead up to something in your life. You control your body, and you control your life. People, this isn't a game of The Sims. There is no one out there telling you what to do, what to say. Unless you are being held hostage and you want to live. Then, you say what you must to be let go, etc. Fate is just as real as God is, in my opinion. People want something to believe in, so they create these things that supposedly "guide" them. That's my reasoning. And unless someone has some raw facts, raw evidence that can prove that fate is real, there really isn't much to discuss or prove. But then, what would be the fun in threads like these? Heh. Yes, people fighting over certain things, not proving much along the way. Go on. XD
2.
Okay, but where are the metal bands you like? You said you like metal, but you HAVEN'T LISTED A SINGLE METAL BAND... Hmmm... again, only ONE metal band (Cradle of Filth). Wednesday 13 is as metal as Cannibal Corpse is teeny-bopper pop music. Hate to break it to you, Fall, but so far, every "metal" fan except one (TheAmazingZLJ) on here has proven you very, very wrong. YES! Finally! I think you're the only person who said they liked metal that actually listed some ******* METAL bands! Thank you! You are my friend, Mr. TheAmazingZLJ! As for me: METAL! I mean actual METAL, by the way. For example: Aborted, Abortion, After Forever, Age of Ruin, Amorphous, Amon Amarth, Angra, Anorexia Nervosa, Anthrax, early Arch Enemy, Arsis, As I Lay Dying, At the Gates, Avantasia, Behemoth, Beyond the Flesh, Beyond This Flesh, Black Label Society, Black Sabbath, Black Steel, Bleed the Sky, Blind Guardian, Bloodbath, Borknagar, Burnt by the Sun, Caliban, Candiria, Cannibal Corpse, Carpathian Forest, Cateract, Cattle Decapitation, Carnal Forge, Catamenia, Celtic Frost, Chimaira, Children of Bodom, Circle of Dead Children, Clifton, Cradle of Filth, Cruachan, Cryptopsy, Darkane, Darkest Hour, Dark Funeral, Darkmoor, Dark Tranquillity, Dead to Fall, Death, Demons & Wizards, Despised Icon, Devildriver, Diamond Head, Diecast, Dimension Zero, Dimmu Borgir, Dragonland, Dream Evil, Dredg, Dry Kill Logic, Edenbridge, Elvenking, Emperor, Ensiferum, Evergrey, Falconer, Falkenbach, Fear Factory, Finntroll, Fireball Ministry, Flowing Tears, Freedom Call, Geasea, God Forbid, Gwar, Haggard, Hammerfall, Heaven Shall Burn, Helloween, Human Fortress, Hypocricy, Iced Earth, Illicit Rite, Impaled, Imperanon, Insomnium, Into Eternity, In Flames, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Kamelot, Kalmah, Kataklysm, Katatonia, Khøld, King Diamond, Kittie, Korpiklaani, Kotipelto, Kreator, Lamb of God, Leaves' Eyes, Led Zeppelin, Lilitu, Liquid Tension Experiment, Lost Horizon, Luca Turilli, Lullacry, Lyzanxia, Machine Head, Manntis, Martyr A.D., Mayhem, Mercyful Fate, Meshuggah, Misery Index, Moonsorrow, Mortician, Mortiis, Naglfar, Necrophagist, Neurosis, Nevermore, Nightrage, Nightwish, Nile, Noctournal Rites, Norther, Nothingface, Old Man?s Child, On Broken Wings, Opeth, Pain, Paradise Lost, Passenger, Rhapsody, Samael, Sepultura, Shadows Fall, Sinergy, Six Feet Under, Skinlab, Skinless, Skyclad, Soil, Soilwork, Sonata Arctica, Soulfly, Spiral Architect, Susperia, Steve Vai, Stormlord, Stratovarius, Suffocation, Summer's End, Summoning, Superjoint Ritual, Symphony X, Theatre of Tragedy, The Black Dhalia Murder, The Gathering, The Mandrake, Therion, The Wage of Sin, Threshold, Today Is the Day, Tool, Tristania, Trivium, Tvangeste, Týr, Unearth, Vile, Vintersorg, Vixen, Warmen, Windir, Winds, Wintersun, Wolf, Zyklon, 3 Inches of Blood. There's some good metal for you. Sorry, Rob Zombie, Slipknot, stuff like that... it may be good (for example, I love Slipknot), but it's not metal. Please please PLEASE don't parade around tainting the name of metal by calling bands like Murderdolls and Linkin Park metal! PLEASE DON'T DO THAT! It's not metal. At all. Regardless of whether it's good or not (again, I like Linkin Park just fine), don't call it metal because it's not. Sorry to rant, but I'm so sick and tired of it! Fall said earlier in one of his posts "Heavy Metal, we all know what heavy metal sounds like". Obviously, we don't. In fact, I've rarely found anyone that wasn't an actual metalhead that knew what metal sounded like. It's the number one most misunderstood genre out there, I think. For example, most people associate screaming with metal. Yeah, metal has more screaming than most genres, but half the bands listed up there never scream at all. Secondly, metal is, for the most part, very very melodic. It's beautiful music a majority of the time. It's not just banging on stuff and screaming. The list goes on and on, but the point is this: I love metal almost to the point of a character flaw. I'm very passionate about it, and that's why I defend it the way I do. And I care so much about what is and isn't "metal" because I don't want people confusing the music I love with bands that aren't at all metal. In it's pure form, true metal is (in my opinion) the most amazing music out there. Hands down.
Hun, I think you need to calm down. O.o It's okay to correct people, but you don't need to get overly excited. There are a lot of different genres, and people get them mixed up, or, they just haven't been taught to such extents about a certain genre. I understand that you have a passion for metal, but next time, calm it down a little. XD Anyway. Yeah, I've been growing tired of my collection. I'm trying to search for new bands along the way. I just hope I can find some new things of interest. It's kind of hard on Sam Goody to find new stuff, since they don't let you listen to like... any of the song. XD I just heard that t.A.T.u CD again a few days ago. It's not actually that bad. Even though the girls were just faking being Lesbian. One of them is pregnant and they both have boyfriends... >> But they still have some decent tracks. That "Show Me Love" song constantly gets stuck in my head to a point where I just have to go listen to the song again. They seem to be more of a pop-y techno group. I used to think they were really annoying, but now I guess they are okay. *shrugs* Whatever. XD
3. Oh, I couldn't live without candy.... especially chocolate. I'm a chocoholic. Heh. I love a lot of Hershey's products... such as their milk chocolate, their Kisses and Hugs, and their Cookies and Cream bars. I also love Reeces Peanut Butter Cups... I can't get off my addiction of those little cups full of peanut butter-y goodness. Man, talking about this is making my mouth water. >> Anyway, but on chocolate. I love anything chocolate... chocolate cake, cookies... oooh... Oreos! People tell me I eat Oreos seductively.... but I guess that's the only thing I can do in that manner. Ha. Oh, there is this one candy shop that is in a mall I go to over in Cedar Rapids. I don't remember the name of the store. But they make the BEST Chocolate Covered Marshmallow Puffs and Chocolate Covered Honey Comb Bars. Mmmm mmm. Actually, I just had some the other day. ^.^ Candy that doesn't have to do with chocolate that I like would have to be gum. I don't know what it is, but I can chew that stuff for hours. One of my friends gets a headache when she chews gum. I wouldn't able to stand that.
4. You know, I was going to name my children very uncommon names too. I hate how people always pick the same names, then you end up having five kids with the same name in your class. Like, for example, I have several Emilys, Daniels, etc. in my grade. But some girl names? Hmmm.... Rain, can also be spelled Raine or Raene is one I've always adored. Even simple names like Re(normally short for Regan, but can also be used by itself) and Rae can be very pretty and unique. This one may seem more... common. But I love to spell it this way... Kimi. Such a cute, pretty name. Here's a small list of other names: Lori Lara (NOT Laura... it is pronounced the way it is written) Faye Iva Ivy Cheya Raven Lillith Names of that nature. But, yes, like people have said before: It's your child, and you must pick the name. There are so many names out and about. Sometimes it's best if you pick up some "exotic" baby name book, thumb through that, and find something.
5. About two and a half years ago, I had been searching around Google for some good anime sites. I saw TheOtaku link and checked it out. After about a week, I ventured into the chat room. I was probably a part of the chat room for about two months before I realized there was even a forum here. So, I joined, and about a month after that, the chat room was shut down. Which saddened me, for there were a lot of great people I talked to regulary in there. But, at least I still have the good old OB. ^.^
6. Yeah, I like both. The problem is, I am much more used to dubs than subs, because I mainly watch what is on t.v. I don't have a lot of spending money to go buy the DVDs, so whatever is on t.v. is mainly what I get at the time. When I do have the DVD though, I tend to watch the dubbed and subbed version. Sometimes I'm just to lazy to read the subtitles, though. I think American actors that are doing the dub voices are getting much better at it. I've seen shows were they totally destroy it, but then again, you see shows were they do a wonderful job. It all depends on what they are doing, it's a shame that not all dubs can live up to the others and their quality. But that's just how things go.
7. Yeah, you did put it in the wrong area, but a mod will re-locate it for you. ^.^ This is cute! Her eyes and hair are very well done. The artwork is different from what I normally see, it's always nice to see new and different things, though. It's just... cute and chibi-like. I think you did a fabulous job with the inking. The little pen is cool, also. I think the only thing that bugs me are the toes... I don't know what it is, but I just never think toes look right... not even when professionals draw them. *shrugs* But good job. I like to see more people getting interested in drawing manga. Of course, I wish I could draw manga, but I don't have that much talent with a pen/pencil... unless it's writing.
8. Wow, that is the oddest fight matching I've ever seen. By the way, for future reference, you should put who you pick and why for better conversation. Welcome to the OB, anyway. Alright, where was I? Oh, right... hmm... Edward against Kuwabara. As I said, interesting fight pairing. I honestly think that Edward would win. I mean, he has alchemy on his side, and Kuwabara just has his spirit sword. Even though Kuwabara has been lucky in some battles, against Edward, I don't think he could pull it off.
9.
I also wish Kikyo would just kill Kagome once and for all, I agree for she is very annoying. I also wanted Kei-kun to go out with Miaka from Marmalade Boy instead of Yuu. But thats just because he can play the piano and that's hot. What? I like a guy who's musically talented. But you can't always win. Keep trying villans, keep trying.
YES! Finally someone that agrees with me about Kagome/Kikyo. Everyone always tells me, "Oh, Kikyo is such a biatch, she's trying to steal InuYasha from Kagome and blah blah..." Okay, 1.) Kikyo had InuYasha first, so technically, Kagome is trying to steal InuYasha from Kikyo. 2.) Kikyo, may I remind you people, is the original, and nothing gets better than that. And besides that, I just hate Kagome, and I love Kikyo. Quite simple, really. XD And for the Marmalade Boy thing... actually, I always secretly wanted Miki and Ginta together. I don't know why, they always seemed the kind to end up. It's just the normal happy ending for the story... it'd be interesting if it was mixed up a bit. Besides, I don't think Arimi is good enough for Ginta. Ha. I don't like that girl either. >> Okay, enough of my fan-girl ranting. Go back on with your discussion. ^.^;;
10. Any time when a villan was getting a good chance to kill Kagome on InuYasha. Oh god, I can't stand that girl. When Akito was "bad" in Kodocha and when he and Sana were in a fight at the beginning of the series. C'mon, he's the hot tough guy while she is the happy-go-lucky peace kind of girl. But, I still love Sana anyway. Ahaha.
11. Spiderweb Parasol: I love this. Amazing what you can do with just an umbrella frame. I like what you put over it. That would be something I'd be see strolling through a park with. ^_~ Stripe Skirt: This is very nice. The little ruffles add a nice touch. Duct Tape Tote Bag: Oh, very cool. Actually, that reminds me of this kid that makes wallets/ticket holders/purses and an assortment of other accessories of just duct tape. I bought a checkered purple and black wallet from him, very cool. I like the whole duct tape look. I'd probably do that to some of my stuff, but my mom would freak out. >> Tie Skirt: Ah, very creative. I always thought of sewing shoe laces to certain clothes, such as the sides of jeans, but not of ties on a skirt. Pink Tulle Skirt: I like that fabric, it looks like the kind of stuff they use on these one scarves I've been seeing around latey. Normally I don't really go for pink, but that shade isn't actually that bad. I have been wanting to make my own clothes for awile, I am so tired of going into a store and finding nothing I like. So, it'd be nice to make my own stuff, I just don't know if I'm that good with my hands. Good job, these designs are lovely. ^.^
12. If I was an action figure, I'd be The Llama Lass. Llama Lass would decked out in a nice, all cotton llama suit, including llama ears, a llama mask, and a llama training whip, to shape up those bad guys. She would also have an optional black cape with bold, white font, spelling "LL". Now, Llama Lass can also have her llama suit off, making her a normal, everyday girl. This is her when she is off duty, her secret identitiy. She goes by "Claire Jacobmeyer" outside her crime fighting. Her normal looks and outfit is as follows: She had black hair that falls just above her shoulders, gray eyes, and wears baggy jeans, an asortment of black and purple shirts and a some eyeshadow and rings. The Llama Lass action figure also comes with her trusty sidekick, Llama Lad. Now, Llama Lad is just a normal llama, normally serves as transportation for Llama Lass. But he has also come very handy in other situations, like eating a villans hair, or kicking the crap out of a villan with his powerful back legs. ALSO! For our new, special offer, you too, can be like Llama Lass. For a limited time, your action figure purchase also comes with your very own Llama Lass Mask, and an authentic Llama Lass Whip! Cost: Priceless Manufacturer: Claire's Imagination Go to your local toy store and get it today! (Can also be found in Llama Lass fetish stores.) That seriously could turn sexual.
13. Ha, you know... speaking of Elmo... I have a t-shirt with him on it. He's in these blue pajamas and he's sitting on the moon, yawning. I think it's the cutest shirt I own. XD IT EVEN GLOWS IN THE DARK. How cool is that. So... if you ever get lonely at night... you can just wear it and then look under the covers... ah, on second thought... that's kind of scary. >> But I wear it a lot to school, and the 6th graders always laugh at me. So, I told them, "Hey, Elmo is cooler than you'll ever be." And it's so true. Those losers. Doesn't Elmo have his own show now? I know he did a few years ago, my little brother would watch it sometimes. Like, Elmo's Wonderful World or something... I don't know. But that show seemed kind of trippy to have kids watching it. I remember telling my dad that at some point. They seriously got rid of Bert and Ernie? Oh, what fun is that? They needed a good homosexual couple on there. Now they are just made fun of on a lot of adult cartoon shows. Sad days for Bert and Ernie. I still love that Cookie Monster song. Beat that.... And you know you want those shirts....
14. I used to watch Seaseme Street when I was younger. We didn't have cable, so I used to watch that and Barney a lot when I was about three or something. But I loved it. For some reason I always liked Big Bird. Probably because of the bright color. Ha ha. I actually haven't seen it for awhile, maybe I can find out when it's on and check out an episode for old times sake. Even if people don't like to admit it, 4 out of 5 people watched Seaseme Street or related show when they were little.
15. I tend to fall for the guy with a bad past and turns our to be somewhat of a gentleman; calm and caring, but knows how to kick some *** when he gets really pissed. My best example: Soichiro Arima from Kare Kano. *sigh* That's defiatly something I want. XD Another is Akito Hayama from Kodocha... well, okay, he's more on the rough and perverted side. But he can be a real gentleman and be kind when he needs and wants to be. Those are my main ones... OH MY GOSH! I almost forgot Toya from Ceres: Celestial Legend. Lol.
16. I'd say my writing. Right now I'm already pursuing that goal. I love to write, and I hardly do anything else anymore... well, besides read and stay on the computer. I've already gotten an award for my writing and I really hope it goes somewhere. Another thing that always caught my interest was voice acting. You get to be heard, but you don't have to be seen. I love acting, but I don't think I'd want my face plastered everywhere if I was in some movie or live show. Voice actors get the luxury of coming in to work with nothing but pajamas on, you can look like crap and no one cares. Plus, your voice may be known, but not many people may know what you look like, so you are free to roam around without getting stopped by many people. Also, I am so tired of some of those poor actors that are sometimes in voice acting... if you are going to act, do it right. Don't read your lines like you are reading something at school out of a text book. Yeesh. So, there you have it. If I were to ever "Go Public", that's what would happen.
17. How about some sauce for that spicy meatball?
18. Not exactly what you ordered, but I cooked up a decent Hiei banner. If you want any changes, just tell me and I'll see what I can do.
19. Thrash Pop. You know you want that genre so bad. I have such a messed up taste in music. Seriously. I really like classical for any time of the day. I find that listening to techno/rave while I write makes me work faster and more enthusiasm, go figure. So, yes... the different genres I like... - Classical (stated above) - Tencho/Rave (stated above) - Jazz - Metal - Alternative - Opera - J-Pop/Rock You know what? One of the bands I really envy is Nightwish, because of their style and sound. They combine opera and metal, which is something you normally don't see. And I love it. Someone who composes wonderful soundtrack music for a lot of anime I watch is none other than Yoko Kanno. She is a genious. I love basically every soundtrack she has done, if I ever made a show/movie, she's the first person I'd call up and ask to do my soundtrack. On some days I practically worship this woman. Here's another thing. Truth be told, I love Gwen Stafani and the Black Eyed Peas. Now, Gwen Stafani, I've been a fan of hers forever...some people didn't even know she was in No Doubt before she went on to do her own music. But I loved No Doubt, and I am still falling victim to her music, even if it's not quite the same Ska I'm used to. And, Black Eyed Peas... I don't know. I'm probably one of the first people that gave them a chance. I had their first CD for almost a year before they started playing it on the radio and on MTV and stuff. And I proudly say so. I have also been fortunate to come across some new bands, such as Kill Hannah and Ash. Kill Hannah just released a CD awhile ago, and it's very good. I really like new bands, ones that haven't gotten a lot of publicity yet. They have that new sound, and they aren't stuck up about their music, or cocky. They just play it and say it like it is, haven't been poisoned by the mainstream venom yet. Ash is also a new band over in Europe. A rich sounding kind of dark band. I fell in love with them when I heard "Vampire Love". So, if you're looking for some new bands, check those guys out. Here are some bands I like that I haven't mentioned yet, some of my favorites: - Interpol - Jack Off Jill - Do As Infinity - Daft Punk - Gorillaz - My Chemical Romance - The Killers - The Rasmus - Red Hot Chili Peppers - KMFDM - Muse - Rob Zombie - Marilyn Mansion - Bond I could honestly go on, my music library is huge, and still growing which I am delighted to say. If you have any good new bands, please PM me, I always love to expand my music collection and hear new things.
20. I am hoping that I can make it to Anime Iowa, which takes place in Des Moines, Iowa on September 9-11th. They used to have it in late August in Cedar Rapids... but just last year they started changing times and places. It makes it a tad more difficult for me, because when they used to have it in Cedar Rapids, I'd be visiting my father at that time anyway, and he'd always take me. Now I think I'd interfere with school. Eh. But, I've been to Anime Iowa at least three years, each year wonderful. It's always fun to look at all the costumes people cook up, and meet new people. Anime Iowa has always had a marvelous Dealer's Room, I could always find what I wanted. I remember about two years ago they had a little thing where people could submit music video they created. It was fun to watch them, they had some really good ones. Ah, but if you live in Iowa and find the time, I'd highly suggest you go to Anime Iowa. You'll have a blast.
21. I think that "love at first sight" is that simple word we call lust. There is a very big different between love and lust as we all know.
Originally posted by ZUZU3276: You have to actually get to know a person before you could love them, by the way, if "love is blind" how could there be love at first sight?
Exactly.
22. Something I honestly don't understand is the whole labeling system. You know why? Because a lot of the time when someone labels themself or someone else, they don't even know what it means. Such as Gothic. Not a lot of people know what that means anymore. Stuff like this just leads to empty stereotypes. People always call me Gothic because I wear a lot of black and I don't really have any religious beliefs. I myself know what Gothic means, but I get tired of giving a five minute speech to whoever calls me Gothic all the time. So I let them say whatever now. But I still stand by what I said before. I'm a hardcore geek. Go me.
23. I've never really been a fan of Marvel comics. I'd pick DC over Marvel any day, c'mon, they're the classics, you can't get any better than that. And I've always been a Batman fan, always. Now, I'm not going to go into this whole thing... I'll just cut to the chase. I defiantly prefer DC comics.
24. I met Mark Pender last year at the Jazz Festival we have here almost every year. He's known for his magnificent trumpet playing on the Conan O'Brian show. Yeah, I got to shake his hand and talk to him for a little while. Really nice guy. It was fun to watch him play, because he wouldn't take a breath for minutes at a time, and staying on those high notes made him light up like a cherry. I highly doubt I could ever play trumpet like that, he's very talented at what he does. My mom did a project for Elijah Wood's(Frodo off of Lord of the Rings) grand father once, I'm not sure if she ever met Elijah though, she might have. I think I might have met someone else, but I'm not sure who. I must have met the person when I was younger, otherwise I'd have remembered.
25. Be asked to leave whatever store I was in. It happens in America, I'm just assuming it'll happen there, too. Then I'd get lost. Seriously, I got lost in a Toys R Us once, I don't think I'd do well in Japan with all those people.
