I thought the animation was pretty at times, but the story was awful. It had no charector development and I couldnt remember any of their names when the movie was over, which isn't a good thing. The music was also annoying...I personally don't recommend it to anyone...

I saw it preformed in Toronto when I was 12 years old. I was a die-hard fan back then but haven't listened to it for ages upon ages. However, after reading this thread, my interests in it have been sparked once again...I think I might go track down my soundtrack!!!!

^^ You mean your septum? Anyway, I love piercings and tattoos. I think they are a creative way to improve upon your body. I have four earings and my labrette pierced and I love them all. It's understandable if people don't like certain piercings but its rude to just blatently say they're distgusting. I've always been intrigued by getting my tongue pierced but in conjunction with my labrette, that would just be too much metal on my face. So I guess thats out of the question. However, there are plenty of other things to get pierced later on down the road.

It stands for "Recording Industry Association of America" and they do a lot more than just sue people for downloading music. Their being so aggressive to set an example to everyone else. While I agree with what their doing, I think that a better step would be to work on changing cd prices. I bet that would have a larger impact on the amount of d/ling if that changed. Anyway, I think this topic was already created. Might wanna check on that.

^^ Neptune and Uranus....Ah the Sailor Moon anime, such good times. Personally I think by making them cousins, that is even more disturbing. I'm sorry, but I would never touch my cousin the way they do... Its funny how gender confusion, androgyny and homosexuality are all prevelent in anime and manga, yet it is considored all taboo in real-life terms in Japaense society.

The DVD that came with the Limited Press of Vulgar was All Region. =D Other than that, I've never heard of anyone else who's made an All Region DVD.

Yea, they're ok too I guess...

Hey guys, thanx for the ideas. Becuase I'm pressed for time because of work, I decided I'm going to have a picnic on the floor of the mall where I work right infront of the giant Christmas Tree. I've got a basket, food, blanket, big umbrella and some other odds 'n ends. I wish I had the time to do something more in depth, but that can wait for my final. Thanx for the suggestions again!

Ok, here's a question for all of you who have or are taking a Sociology class. My project for the weekend is to commit an act of social devience, that is, break a social norm and then write a paper based on peoples reactions. The only problem is tbat I'm not sure what to do. Does anyone have any good suggestions that wont land me in jail?

I don't see how I spoiled anything sence I didnt give the plot away.

I agree, I liked this movie a lot, thought I too was emotionally drained at the end of it. An interesting tid bit, the Simpsons episode about the sandwhich at Krusty Burger that everyone liked did an homage to this movie. When Homer eats the burger, they use they same type of sequence as the heroine injections.

^^ Whats sad about me is that I acctually tracked down the movie online and purchased it from a girl in New Hampshire a few years ago, so I have the original box and all in perfect condition. The plot of the movie was that this spoiled princess wanted a planet that was a huge diamond because, well, she loved diamonds. This planet was responsible for warming the earth and adding colors. She was using the sprites to weave a huge net around it so she could move it out of orbit and the net was preventing any light from shining through it so the earth was stuck in perpetual winter. Orin, the person who created Rainbows color belt, sent his robot horse Onyx to find rainbow brite and bring her there. So she went, they meet a guy named Chris who has this little thing on his wrist that is similar to the color belt and the two of them fight the princess and win. Thats the plot in a nutshell. So good, like all 80's cartoons.

I remember that overseas version.

I got to meet them over the summer when they played private show at the University of Washington. The new album is awsome!

Thats acctually not entirely true. Import cds from Taiwan and Singapore cost as much as US cds, but they are not bootleg. I've bought the Chinese verstion of Luna Seas album "Lunacy" for $18 from a chinese grocery store and it was definetly not a bootleg. Also, I'm not sure what you mean by "even when the words are in chinese." Do you mean the cd booklets? Because I'm pretty sure those are still written in Japanese, even if they are from China. Mine were at least.

Considoring that the X manga is over 20 volumes long, there was a LOT of information to compact into one 2 hour long feature film. The movie was, infact, snippits of scenes from the OAV, which is really good. The ONLY thing that the movie had over the OAV was the fact that it used more hand drawn cells so the art was sooooooo beautiful...but it had no story....the end!

I dont see what the big deal is. Gackt is a hack. He left the Visual Kei scene to join the JPop band-wagon. He's a sell out. Eack one of Deru's albums sound different when compared to eachother, which is a good thing, becuase if shows how much they have progessed sence the days of Missa. Each one of their albums are good, you should BUY them.
Originally posted by Zanarkand Abes The critics the other night said that it was the worst of its kind, but what do they know about movies.
Apparently a lot sence their opinion, especially Siskel and Ebert's (now Ebert and Roper), is used as a mark of quality on movies. I saw it and it was pretty funny but not great. Slap stick and dirty jokes can only get you so far. Real comedy is in verbal jokes and one-linesr. Also, it lacked a real story. I mean, I know spoof movies are making fun of other movies, but Airplane, Hot Shots and the like all had conflicts with resolutions. In SM, it just seemed like each new scene was just a set up for the next joke. They threw together so many different movies to try to make fun of them that it was too jumbled. We're at a farm, now a rap concert, now the city, farm, city, farm again. Too much ground...

Hands down the best is Haichu! That candy is so incredibly good and its only .85 cents where I'm at. Ramune us the the soda candy that was mentioned before, I think. Its hard and blue and fizzes when you eat it, right? Anyway, Gumi is good too as well as poky, but Haichu still ownz...
