More or less, I'm just generally odd-looking, but I still am able to get a girl's attention.
Teeheehee.. if you look as odd as you say you are you'd get my attention.
3 & 4) I haven't gotten a haircut in months. I could double for Frodo in LOTR.
The hair double with Frodo would probably scare me though : / although I can think of a few people who wouldn't mind Frodo.
This hasn't stopped me from developing very good rapport with the women on campus.
Nicely put, however you sound almost egotistical and presumptuous, I like that. I'd have to agree.. I've clearly liked guys who were of a relatively distant standard from the formula. Except the only part I really agree with is keeping clean. Not neccessarily have plucked eyebrows just general hygiene. Oh yes, please do.. get in touch with my emotions, us girls are all so vunerable and thus easy to figure out because of emotions. But hey Sauce-Head, why don't you post a formula for picking up guys? I'm sure you could come up with a formula just as concise and it shouldn't be too difficult afterall I believe it's a fair assumption that you are a guy.
Lore. Hm. What kind of a dumb name is that, anyway?
Why did you change it? I thought Sara was, well, just couldn't be wrong at all. Plus it seemed to suit you so well. I'd change my name though.. although I just can't really be bothered. But it looks so angsty.. bleah 09-22-2003 Would appear to be the date I joined, and since my math isn't very good I suspect that's just over a year now. I'm hardly old but I can recognize a lot of the more prominent and perhaps respected members. ^.^ Funny thing, I do want to join in some of those debates but it's just a bit unnerving to see some of the way people go at each other. Especially lately, which I'm not even going to go into. However I just never feel passionately enough about some of the discussions to say anything worthwhile in my opinion. I doubt many people notice me anyway.. It took me forever but I read through most of this thread. What's the story with "War"? It'd make a nice bed-time story, or a story at least. btw, does it amuse anyone else as it does me to see a few people that have posted in this thread whom have been banned? teeheehee

I tried... I really tried!! But I couldn't think of anything but how scary syk3 was to think of any criticism : / Oh well, needless to say it 'twas very entertaining. I'm absolutely shmitten with your sexay writing ^_~ -
Writing The Legend of Otaku Hollow [PG-13]

By the second sentence you made me giggle. Quarter the way through I started sniggering. Halfway through I couldn't help but chuckle then by the end of it I giggled some more. Oh you're so funny, stop it! : P -
Here is my question, if that lady was a Security Guard, why would she be charged for that? She is a part of the Police Force in a way, plus, she would be doing it to 1. Guard her life and 2. To guard whatever she is there for in the first place. I mean, really, she is a Security Guard, it's her job to do that. [/color']
I'm sure there are a lot of people who are wondering about that.. But I guess a possibility is that she may have been off duty at the time and Heero Darkangel doesn't have the full story so there must be other issues taken into consideration. she may have injured more than one person even after she successfully defend herself.. I don't know but it's possible. However it is unnerving to realize that despite what your job incites it won't neccessarily be a safe defense for you. People do tend to say they would act in a certain way if threaten but often when it comes right down to it.. If it happens (and hopefully one never ends up in a life-threatening situation) what you may claim you will do might not happen. I have been in less than safe situations where I might've ended up with more than a minor bruise so I know I can stay reasonably calm.. but if threatened with a weapon by a stranger with a high possibility of being injured perhaps killed I don't know if I could be calm. Btw.. are you sure it was in NZ??? Coz if it was then, man I'm so out of touch with the local news 0.o

ooh, I was itching to respond to this one couldn't wait til I got home so I decided I'll post even though I'm at school^^ It's excellent as usual but what really had me surprised is that in the beginning I had imagined Winnie to be a lot more conservatively hip not.. blue haired, blue lipsitcked and four piercings in places all around her head. Not that it's a problem, just a constant surprise that she's coloured herself much like most of the local population in Japan is. Or so I've heard from first hand accounts. Ah, never mind my rambling.. I'm just excited that you updated =D

Fight or flight response. My answer is like ScirosDarkblade's. The only thing that makes it more unfortunate that such events happen is that the way the felon can work their way around the law like that with decent lawyers.. it's all so tedious. Although arguably, by aiming for the leg that's clearly a move to incapacitate not to cause mortal injury so it can hardly be viewed as being viewed as an attempt. Bottom line, that sucks.

I just had a thought that might be quite useful for MyO users.. it would definitely be for me. I think it'd be a nice feature to have when you update MyO and have an option to preview the post, much like you could when you post at the Oboards. Because I know after using so many tags and different html codes it becomes problematic trying to proof-read what you've just typed. It constantly bothers me when I post something, then double-check it on my website to find I have random loose ends throughout my post : / Then I find it slightly annoying to read someone else's site and they didn't manage to clean up their posts properly.. maybe I'm just wishy washy
Here's my question: Who is it that finds these stick-wimmin attractive? I don't, and several people here have said they don't, yet obviously *someone* has to, or the image wouldn't propogate. There are signs of change, though; new manniquens are supposed to have enhanced posteriors, similar to J-Lo or Byonce. The times, they are a changin'.
I know of one.. lucky for him he's in another country but the fact that makes him so dangerous is also the fact he is a player. He just knows how to get girls and one of my friends happened to be a victim of his charms and he told her she was fat. He literally told her she was too fat (which I'll be damned if she was -_-) and then told her he didn't like her hair short it had to be long so she grew it out.. Sure she didn't have to listen to him but we know what it's like to be young (13-14 in this case) and be absolutely smitten with a gorgeous/popular guy that everyone else just wants a piece of. *sarcasm*His effect on her was less than tragic, it resulted in years of ongoing eating disorders to which she's a lot better now but one can never fully recover from something like that. There maybe another one of those guys I do know who's in the same country however he doesn't tell the girls what they should look like or not, he merely picks the pretty ones and I assure you he can. He's extremely good-looking to the majority of girls and he knows how to use it. I think it's well propagated. Girls see guys they want and see the girls around them (most likely thin "pretty" ones) and emmulate it. The insecurites are most dangerous as a young teenager, it's all so new to them : O

What does your religion mean to you?
MissWem replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
When it comes to Wiccans and Satanists and other such unorthodox religions I'm not sure what to think, I suppose the consideration ideal applies though I'm not sure what the Catholic Church's standing on them is. Well I suppose they're against Satanists because they worship the Devil and he is considered the greatest figure of evil in Christianity. Hmm I suppose the old idea of "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you[/I']" applies in this situation.
Of course they'd be agains Satanists, that's pretty much a given, as you have said. However they don't worship him.. they actually view him as a symbol to guide them or something much like that. However, as for Wicca I believe they're also against that too because Wicca believe in nature or perhaps they choose their own god/goddesses to worship and in many regards is seen as devil worship by the Catholic faith. Isn't that why they don't believe in Halloween? Because it encourages the celebration of a day of sorcery, witchcraft and paranormal? Sorry if I'm out of touch, I haven't been to a Catholic school for over 3 yrs ^^" EDIT:Yea, what CHW said.. she got to it before me -
hmm.. same thing happens to me just only when I'm on myO. And then replace the Fun part with Crazywinnings : /
So what's your deal? Do you feel the same way as I do, or do I just sound like a ranting oldie? Speak, people, speak.
If you really were a "ranting oldie" then you should've mentioned some of the truly older games.. I'm not farmiliar with many of them since I wasn't old enough to play them at the time ^^" I've found that the games these days are continually getting more complicated and pampering on the ol' gamer.. and say playing pokemon, after playing the Ruby or even just the Silver version I had such a difficult time trying to play the original Blue and Yellow versions simply because the rules were simpler making it less flexible therefore there were less loop-holes or short cuts you could take in battles. I think it was the really original and old games which didn't have the capacity to be complicated were really simple and must've been addictive (most of which are beyond my time). Such games would includes ones like Elevator, I never liked it much however my brother loves the game. You ride elevators up and down a building, you can crush people with the elevator, you shoot funny looking bullets, they shoot funny looking bullets and all you needed to do was get to the bottom.. if I remember right. The really old and simple games didn't have much of a story line or even endings such examples would be the Star Wars game. Wasn't it just made up polygonal lines where you shot up a certain number of tie fighters then did the trench run to trash the Death Star. After that you did it all over again except with more tie fighters which made it generally more difficult. I'm really bad with names but there was also another addictive game with similar graphics and the point was to protect your city from missiles that fell from the top of the screen. That's fun to watch but I could never stand sitting there trying to blow up the missiles before they hit the ground and keep an eye on the number of missiles I could fire back : / Or or..!! That game Submarine and you move your red ship at the top of the screen dumping depth charges to blow up the submarines below =D I liked that one, so simple but I have awful timing.. could never last very long. I'd have to say my all time favourite simple and old game is Pong. I was good at it, and it was enjoyable and mindless sitting there bouncing the ball back and forth..heh. I could go on :P

Arguments For And Against the Necessity of Guns & Gun Control
MissWem replied to lcrisler's topic in General Discussion
So now I ask you, with a properly placed question mark, what would you do when threatened with bodily injury or death and you have a pistol? I know I won't shoot. I know Ranger will. I don't know about you but I would like to live a little longer.
I really feel I have to ask you. What happens if Ranger isn't there to shoot the guy for you? Besides if Ranger did shoot someone in self-defense he wouldn't go to prison/jail because his defense would be self-defense. I don't condone needing a gun for self-defense because when it comes to fire-arms which are designed to kill then you kill the other person uneccessarily so that you live. If you like hunting, then good for you, just watch where you aim that 'kill-stick'. Even better if you can wrestle a malicious squirrel down with some awesome martial arts move and kill it swiftly by breaking it's neck  Of course guns are dangerous, and of course if you feel it is absolutely neccessary to own one in your house then of course it's only common sense that everyone in the household has the proper education about the use of one. Unless you're a hunter, what on earth would neccessitate owning more than one.. perhaps two guns?? Needless to say gun laws are much too lax. -
Okay, so, if you're actually Pro-Same-sex marriage, then how do you explain all the talk in the beginning of this thread, when you were so adamant about how male-male relationships should not even progress into romance, and how wrong it was? Come on. That's quite a radical departure from what you were saying when you started this thread.
Due to some horrible feeling I'm going to give you the answer that because Adahn already stated the reason in some previous post.
Of course, I should have said I disapprove of male-male relationships beyond friendship. I don't want to get into details, but let's just say two women would be hard-pressed to engage in any act I would consider true sex.
Which isn't to say I agree with the statement, it's just merely a fact. I personally don't mind same-sex marriage but that's a different argument altogether. (oh man, I'm so slow at replying.. there's been a bajillion replies by the time I post this) So as this is meant to be a civilised discussion I shall offer my opinion on Adahn's last/first question.. True, in order for people to reach a point where they're in love.. trust, attraction and friendship is needed but what I think tends to make the biggest difference is the initial meeting/impression the two people get of each other. Correct me if I'm wrong, even if you meet someone and they may be friendly and nice but do you ever get that feeling that you and them just couldn't be friends to start with...?? I've seen it happen, two of my friends meet, they seem to be just fine with each other, friendly so on and so forth. Then later when I talk to them individually they just tell me for some unbeknowst reason they don't like the other person. Neither had wronged eachother, they simply didn't like each other. It had little to do with amiability. Unfortunately there are a lot of people out there who believe they're in love even though they're lacking trust, friendship and even safety. Who? Domestic abuse. Like everything that is 'human' there are always horrible mutant exceptions to ideals and rules.

What does your religion mean to you?
MissWem replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
I'm an atheist, namely because religion never made sense to me. I simply can't believe in any god, just as I can't believe in fairies. [/FONT']
I just find that statement funny yet true in so many other ways. Okay, so I'd be lying if I said religion meant nothing to me. Although I'm not religious either, I've spent about half of my school life being brought up as a Catholic and I suppose for a while it clicked then it suddenly didn't for very long, silly but smarter reasons. I suppose I'm agnostic leaning towards aethiest : / if that works.. If there's a God/God's/Goddesses then so be it, but they aren't going to change how I believe I should set my principles and boundaries. I can't forget all the hours I spent having to study the bible, I can't forget the time I lost spent trying not to fall asleep while the rest of my baptized friends went up for Eucharist.. but because of all those hours spent analyzing a religion that is so ingrained into a majority of society and it's past I understand thing all the better for it. I enjoy studying literature in English and the fact is a lot of it has biblical references, due to my upbringing I can spot them and actually discuss the significance in an intelligent manner. I get why people want a separation of Church and State. I don't know a lot about the other religions, but many of them haven't been around or have had as much influence throughout societ. The best thing that ever happened to me was finally forcing my Dad to let me to go a non-religious (especially non-Catholic) school. Besides it wasn't fair anyway, my Dad is a non-practicing Christian of all silly things and my Mum is Buddhist. -
I'm just taking a wild guess, but here's what I think they'd have you do for $300/week, "setting your own schedule"... They're gonna want you to sign up about a handful of people for accounts or plans at this energy company. These people you signed up-- you're going to earn a small fraction of money everytime they pay their energy bills. Then you'll need to recruit about 5 or 6 of your best friends, and get them to do your exact same job. They'll sign up a handful of people for energy plans, earn money each time those clients pay their bills, and you'll earn money everytime your friends (who will be working under you) earn money. All together, this will equal roughly $300/week. In addition to that, you'll have to do some minor filing work at the energy company's office, which will only take you about 1 or 2 hours a week. I got approached by one of these people once, not knowing what it was. I scheduled an interview with him, only to find out he wanted me to do the exact same things I mentioned above. Only difference was I was approached by a phone company. This whole thing is full of dead-ends. I guarantee you, if you call that number, you'll schedule a meeting with some guy in his mid 20s who will flash you with something expensive like keys to a new Lexus or his laptop computer. My friend had this exact same job, only he worked for a knife company. My brother did it too, only he was selling newspapers. It sounds good in writing, and you'll probably get a nice and shiny presentation all about it, but this whole deal isn't for you if you don't think you can coerce perfect strangers into signing an energy plan from a 15 year old kid.
Yea.. you're probably right but at 15 there isn't really any job anyone would be willing to give you that would go somewhere. So at least it'd be counted as work experience for future opportunities. Unless you work in MacDonalds XD you can look forward to being manager after several 'loyal' years. Honestly, it's really difficult to find a job to enjoy. At least a starting job, even so you may like some parts of it or just hate it in general but stick to it for the sake of the money.. oh well.. still, money is money. I don't have a job and I recently turned 17, however I've been hoping to polish up my CV and my bilingual skills for a shot at working in a medical clinic as a late night or weekend receptionist over the holiday. ^_^ and maybe my mum or her friends could put in a good word for me, I know it'll be good money.. at least NZ$13 per hour which I'm guessing is at least $20 in American currency.
Sure, guns are dangerous, but anything can be dangerous if you have a mind willing to murder. There's violence everywhere... not just the United States.. I just hope we don't blindly accept regulation as the means to a solution.
True, but regulations are a necessary precaution. Of course with regulations education is also a neccessity. Sure we can tell people that guns can be bad and so is shooting people, and by taking into consideration that 'people in general' are actually quite stupid, we'd have to explain to them why guns can be bad and so is shooting people. As this is a sociological issue there we can't come up with a simple answer to this as has been mentioned, there are a number of factors contributing to the amount of disproportionate violence in places like America. Someone mentioned that South Africa has an even greater amount of gun violence however that would relate to the fact that it's more or less a third world country and as a whole, a much poorer country with less education and well, basically less of everything else. Since I'm nowhere near America I'm not farmiliar with people such as Michael Moore however just from my personal observations I've noted that Americans would appear to be a much more high-strung society. There's the vicious cycle that people get guns to protect themselves but they wouldn't need to do that if people stopped being violent towards each other. Vicious I say, vicious. Perhaps it's because they're such a patriotical society? Hasn't war been glorified? To die for your country, for your beliefs, for you family and honourable thing to do? I suppose it's true when they say it's the land of the free but so many people are so bent on expressing their opinions they become angrier and angrier. I recently read an article on psychology which said that actually venting your aggression can actually foster greater amounts of aggression. And before I go off on an unpredictable tangent I have one more thought to add. Hasn't anyone noticed how the society quickly latches onto a "frightening" new social problem and starts becoming incredibly paranoid and thus over-compensate by use of extreme control? eg, stopping teenagers that are displaying healthy behaviour from playing video games because some ninny blamed a shooting on some silly game. tch. James is right, it lies in the family but also how the family is told by society to behave, and when one family beomes 'corrupt' then the others see this as a potential threat as they themselves may have a similar family setup/type and overreact to prevent the tragedy from re-occuring. But that's just my little theory ^_^

*throws candy* hAHAHAhaha You deserve it!!!! Anyway, I think it's alright. Not every chapter of a story must be funny and there always must be some way of moving the plot. This could've been a lot worse : P But Anatema is right, I'm incredibly stupid but I also agree that it's good. Besides, it's a realistic representation of a guy with a rather curious life, and life is more interesting when you include the little things that fill in the gaps between major experiences ^__^ I was getting concerned you weren't going to update anytime soon
In any case, I also wanted to mention that I find braces on girls to be pretty sexy, though I've found that I am the minority of that opinion. XD
Good for you, then you'll have more girls to yourself ;) Hmm, quite adorable, I think you look good without the braces although it seems you've still got that "I wear braces" smile :p I still do since I wore for about three years.. whew what a trial that was =^D luckily I didn't have to wear retainers after that. Braces are a spiteful price to pay for beauty but hey I felt it was worth it.. it just makes me cuter than ever ^_~

I am.. extremely awed by this piece of writing. Absolutely gorgeous, I hope to see more beautiful pieces like this.
-
*chuckles* you truly are a grammar obssessed being. I personally would never be able to explain a lot of those linguistic nuances. hehehe.. well, when you get into the mood for writing you really get into the mood. I'm sure the next chapter would be less cliched but just as good ^^

0_0 oh dear me, the suspense is just getting too much!! Whatever will happen next in the Captain's crazy carousel of pirating, giant nice-smelling monkeys and "keelhauling"?!?!?
-
I've seen worse cliches than that. Although I don't think it was, in fact I found a lot of it surprising XD like Nobuhiro wanting to learn English (so stupid of me, I should've guessed from the title XD) and the ending to the chapter.. Funny.
-
The carpet's lung confused me XD lol. So I guess the suggestion to come and read your captains logs were really a part of your extraordinary plan to lure people into reading this and becoming stupider than thou... Oh, that is so fox-like of you ^_~
I stood outside, at the side of the road, on our scraggly lawn (growing scragglier), staring at the cat and her kittens, wondering if my mother would have let me keep one if they hadn?t been hit by the car, and it was then that I realized that anything could fly if you hit it hard enough and that the little green man with the yellow eyes had never existed in the first place and that my father wasn?t coming back and that magic wasn?t real and that the world was an unfair place. Then, I turned around and went back inside, and I did not think of the flying cat again.
It's really good, I definitely like the low-key suspense. Although one thing my teacher had been anxious to point out to me when I do some creative writing was to use as few 'and' and 'that' in my writing. She says it weighs down the quality of the writing, dragging it down somewhat. I think in this case it's true. Er..I dunno, I guess it's just that the ending feels suddenly abruptly tied up. You just closed every issue quite ultimately then there's not a lot left for the reader to consider. Maybe the 6yr old persona just seemed to lose authenticity. Aside from that the brother, he was an intriguing character..mucho agreement with KarmaofChaos ^__^
