Oh, and, by the way Derelict D... you will be bandited =__=*grrr*[/COLOR']
*sweats* It's not my fault you people don't know how to keep a civilized distance to DW *smiles, warily*.. aw crapiness.. what have I done? I seriously stared at that page of male bikinis for a very long time for all the wrong reasons. He has a point, it does say bikini all over the place and they are on guys. I hope the story gets a move along eventually.

Hero

First off I'm going to say that I haven't watched this movie in about a year. Or whenever it may have first been released in HK. Honestly, I found the movie to be rather tedious. The story was alright though, I suppose I do like the idea of how it was told through a series of flash-backs, however I think there were either too many or, they just felt very lengthy. I think I just have a short attention span for movies such as these. As for the fight scenes, much like CTHD I found them too be overly artistic. Personally I've always been more fond of the older Chinese films which had the rougher, grittier scenes with less floatiness. I'm wondering though, has Hero been released with English dubbing? Or just with subtitles? I watched it in the original Mandarin version, unfortunately I'm not very fluent at it, eh heh..

Pok

hmm.. you're making the game quite alluring. However even if Raquaza has a say about these two fighting, he'll probably plop down onto the screen and tell them to knock it off. Although I just and an interesting thought and I think it'd be cool if you got to direct Rayquaza to battle the other two in order to stop the fighting. I'll have to put the game in second place on my list of wants, I can't possibly put off buying an ipod for the sake of pokemon games again ^^"
4. Pft.. this chapter completely rocked the other chapters ^_^ y'know I'm loving these stories.d

Pok

This definitely sounds interesting. It's going to be released in English right? Thanks for clarifying for the uninformed such as myself ^_^ I think this one, from the way it looks is going to be an improvement since unlike the yellow/crystal it integrates the story. Rather than rehashing or in fact, duplicating the original storyline. Besides, what pokemon trainer in their right mind would want to miss seeing the almighty Kyogre and Groudon have a go at each other?
6. Thanks for clarifying that Shinje(sic) ^_^ I see what you mean.. although I suspect they will have to come up with a different way of creating the union than, the traditional way.
oh and another thing we don't homo sexual affairs in mangas right ...................
You might want to read the posting rules on the left hand side. And in many of the popular manga/anime there is homosexuality, some is more subtley portrayed than others. However, if you only watched the dubbed versions in America, a majority of them have been 'sanitized' so that the viewers wouldn't realize that some of the characters are homosexual.
7.
What's wrong with asymmetry? Are you saying that it's somehow inefficient? I'm not seeing how that makes homosexuality good (or bad).[/SIZE']
For the sake of argument I will try to debate this, but I really don't feel strongly about the issue. I'm not saying it's inefficient, it's just the fact that it goes against what the majority of society has been trying to achieve, which is gender equality. It's just a fact that I merely stated that meant that homosexuals don't generally divide the labour between them by gender.
That really doesn't make homosexuality right. All this statement tells me is that there's some chance that a gay couple will adopt, and that'll make everyone happier. Again, the same problem with the first argument: doesn't really show how homosexuality is good (or bad). Anyone can adopt - or choose not too. [/SIZE']
Yes. In that case regardless of whether or not the couple is homosexual I suppose neither is just as 'fruitful' in that sense.
So... you are now comparing animal behavior to homosexuals... What does animal behavior have to do with human homosexuality? Some animals eat their babies... I don't see how that is helping any scenario, especially since animals will do it with a rock. The more intelligent ones tend to remember and play with rocks over and over.
I wasn't comparing if you don't mind. Like before, I just decided I wanted to add the fact that there are homosexual sheep. Of course, that just seems make them kinda useless for breeding but humans aren't there just to be bred and eaten.. are we? As humans we have all the animal instincts, the difference is we have achieved symbolic thought. To be quite honest, I really don't know what to make of homosexuality even though I tend to say I'm for it since it seems to be the popular thing to do where I am *rolls eyes* yes, I realize the irony that I'm being the metaphorical sheep here. As far as I can tell, homosexuality in the end are just like heterosexual couples. They will fight, divorce, love but fundamentally they are a functioning unit of the economy. It's a very cold and numerical way of looking at it but it's true, as long as they work (which they do) and contribute to the overall society in a positive fashion I don't see why they can't possibly be considered 'normal'. Btw, Shinje(sic).. would you care to explain why you're against the Civil Union Bill? I know it's just like marriage, and it symbolizes what marriage is, but without the Christian ties. Why don't you think your homosexual friends should have the same rights as other heterosexual couples have?
8. ]People already have been saying what's right with it, but I can add to it. Research shows that homosexual couples have a more even gender roles, meaning they don't fall back onto the traditional female/male roles of bread winner/house wife as easily. I see adoption of children by them, can only really be a win/win situation since you'd give a good home to a child that doesn't have one. Oh and the funniest one. In New Zealand it has been proven that there are indeed, gay/homosexual male sheep. There's about a 12 sheep per person ratio here, so.. it's really funny to think how many of the rams are homosexual xD
9.
?Oh. It?s you.? It took Nobuhiro less than half a second to have jumped to his feet, spun around, and pointed an accusing finger at the person standing in his doorway. ?Y-y?YOU!? He stuttered incoherently for a time before taking a few steps forward, furious, and stopping himself from slapping his little sister in the face.
You like totally stole my line! Did you? *confused* I had a moment of dejavu when I read that. Well, for a character you seem to despise, she's fitting in nicely with the story. The poor guy, I'm really starting to feel sorry for him : (
10. I genuinely found this story quite funny. If I were into chicks I'd so go for you! : P Your sexiness is very alluring. And at the risk of being bikini bandited, I'd like to defend poor DW... *cough* yea, so I'll be checking back to read more ^^"
11. Now I have all the more reason to go see the movie The Incredibles.. is it just me or is DW just an easy person to use? : P It was funny, and I look forward to seeing the rest of the story. Practice makes perfect.
12. To be honest, I don't think DW is really "taking over the boards" at all. It's such a negative connotation. I just like to think that he will redefine the OB for the better with his sexay black mageness. Hehehe. It's not often you see people freak out over seeing other people get turned into plushies ^_^
13. *Gibbers incoherently* YOU! *points finger at Godel* I liked the last line alot. In fact the chapter was very amusing, especially when following his train of thought. Why on earth would she threatent to kill him when he's such an obviously harmless person?? WHY? The humanity!
14.
Whenever people around me are fighting, or when I'm involved in something like a fight myself, anything that is a dark color seems to lose a lot of it's vividness and goes more toward black. I always thought it was more of a "I'm tuning into the situation and tuning everything else out" deal, but I guess that I might just be associating anger with the color black. Very interesting article Dagger.
Hmm.. Actually I can relate to that, but strangely enough my memory of the event is that it's very yellow. Which just reminds me of how Mitch often uses the metaphor of life being as yellow as piss, although that's probably unrelated. When I saw the title I actually thought of a poem I had to study last year called Blue, however I can't remember the author so I can't dig it up at the moment. But Blue in this case was some sort of washing liquid and the factories that produced it created a really foul smelling environment, which was ironic since the actual product Blue smelt "heavenly". A bit of random knowledge. I've never really taken notice of things like that. I probably lack syntaste. The closes I can think is sometimes when I listen to music I get the hankering to draw a picture of the music. I've only done it recently, so I've only got a couple of drawings.. if I had a scanner I'd show them though. One is really just an abstract one where everyone I've asked to look at it do not see the same thing. The other is just a picture of two people empasizing the feeling of unrequited love, as inspired by Tadpole's Condition Chronic (and they are a cool cool band). I think I'll try take more notice of those little nuances as decribed by the article provided by Dagger.
15. Meh, you shouldn't be so shy about featuring yourself a bit more, but I guess not all people are writers like Dragon Warrior x^D Actually, for a moment there I seriously thought you'd write in that James beat Ajeh to a bloodied pulp. The final exchange between AjehMan and Shinmaru was really quite hillarious. I wish someone else would beat me to commenting first, I'm starting to feel silly : P
16. Heroics at its finest. I find it rather interesting how you (Alan) don't always play a very main, or perhaps prominent role in the stories. Rather it follows you around.
17.
Who knows? Maybe there is a way to defy the time-space continuum. Like 'ripping' a whole in space, so that the ship doesn't have to undergo the stress of that speed. People thought alot of things back in the day. We have no idea what turns and twists science will take. Who knows? Maybe we will figure out how to teleport large objects before we can break the light barrier. We've already transported like single protons and electrons or something like that. Maybe... just maybe... we can make this technology more advanced so that someday in the next few hundred years, we can teleport things. Wouldn't that rock?
Actually I do believe there has been some rather promising research on the development of teleportation. I kinda got my information second hand but from what was described, rather than literally making the partical physically move across the obstacle, they did the next best thing which was to turn one an atom on the other side into an exact duplicate by 'sending the information' across. It was called entanglement unfortunately the obvious problem is that, it isn't really teleportation, but more a form of cloning and well.. that would be a silly way of teleporting people.
It could happen. Computers used to be the size of entire rooms -- commmunity centers were dedicated to two computers. And now, we have computers that you can fit on your lap, and are exponentially faster than those hunky computers with only MS-DOS installed on it.
Yes. However increasing the speed/efficiency of energy is completely different to making an object with a large physical mass, to go faster. By my understanding, you can't travel at the speed of light because then you'd have infinite mass..? At least not in the current dimensions we understand physics in, because as you get faster the energy required to do so converts to mass, hence the infinite mass once you reached the speed of light (assuming it's possible) then that would cause the universe to cease to exist. We'd have to discover a 'new dimension' that has a differing set of limits that would allow us to do it. Basically you would be too heavy to push : P If someone would like to correct me I'd be happy to think about it, considering it's amazing I even passed physics at all x^D Another way as I think someone mentioned is rather than make ourselves do the moving, we can make space move for us. But then we wouldn't technically be travelling, we'd be sitting there.. but I think that's relativity. Btw, would someone explain to me what E=mc^2 is?
18. Aw, doesn't Solo look so puerty in a skirt? ^__^ I certainly enjoyed this story, I don't know the FF story but I don't think it mattered. So much of this amused me but I think one of the favourite parts I do remember is: "Desbreko (who was a little perplexed as to how he arrived in this situation but nonetheless happy for having kicked some ?serious nad?)" Ah Desbreko.. the story was 'kick-nad' to put it colourfully.
19.
IMHO, I think it's more like the fact that parents wouldn't want children being taught just/primarily Christianity in schools. Especially early in school (i.e. elementary school) where the children are more impressionable. Thus, overteaching Christianity will basically place that religion upon the students, whether they like it or not, because they won't know any better.
Definitely. Fortunately, I suppose I've been brought up in New Zealand which is actually considered a very secular country. Unfortunately I've spent half my school life in a Christian environment. However, I've never been to America so I don't know personally to what extent the over-teaching of Christianity has gone on for.
Without turning this into a flame war, I missed when atheism became intolerance. Atheism is just a belief, like Christianity. While you may have meant that the parents' actions may have been atheistic -- which I would also disagree with -- saying that atheism signifies intolerance, is saying that every other religion is also intolerant. Sure, some people might give atheism a bad name for being overly extremist, but I (as an atheist) consider myself tolerant of other religions. If you're Christian, or Muslim, etc. that's great. Whatever floats your boat
My apologies, I only realized after going to bed that my idea of Athiesm was rather.. clouded. My brother fancies himself as an Athiest however he thorough believes in a separation of state and church and that religion is one of the stupidest things humanity could've invented, hence I kinda thought it was rather intolerant. I try not to let his opinion influence me since I prefer to remain Agnostic ^^" Don't worry, I don't believe in flaming. I believe in being blunt.
20. I dare say I want to comment on this being neither in America nor American, so just correct me if I misunderstand or offend someone in relation to how America functions. --- I figured that by now, that the entire "In God we trust" is supposed to be symbolic of America's patriotism, is it not? Then despite the fact that it started with most of the country being Christian by now it shouldn't particularly matter because God technically could be from any religion since as far as I know, it isn't exactly stated on the money that it's Christian based money, or a Christian God in the pledge. Personally I think it's just Aethism taken too far, in fact I don't like Aethism because of how it signifies intolerance, which isn't fair as much religion is ingrained into any society. The one thing that my English teacher was quick to respond to was the fact that I had said "I disliked the biblical references in the texts we have been studying". Her reponse was to remind me that just about all of the great works of literature are filled with or even allude to some sort of religion. Not just Christianity. I've even had to learn some Arabic. The Aethistic parents seem so bent on having their childrens' beliefs not to be influenced by religion they've forgotten that's what they grew up learning as well. Since the man is being targeted for trying to teach, law suit away!!
21. "He had later found out that the creature had been an elusive and highly dangerous Ajeh, a creature reknowned for it's prowess in getting chicks. And now Abdul possessed its powers..." That so made me laugh, a slug getting chicks? *snigger* "From that day on, Abdul was AjehMan, protecting hot girls on the internet wherever they may be, and forever hunting down the email of a certain Indian actress..." And forever will I come back to your stories to tell you how clever and amusing I find them. Forever in the loosest term possible since you won't be writing these forever.. or will you? ^_^ I like being first to comment on these.
22.
Now it's cool to decorate with Asian stuff and wear Asian clothes and eat Asian food. Makes me sad.
Wicked!! I'm cool. Now I can do all the strange things that the other real Asians in my school do which I seem to have a dislike for. Yes, like eat Asian food, wear Asian clothes and take heaps of Asiany sticker photos while doing Asian poses *does the peace sign while smiling cheesily at the camera* (The previous paragraph was done in sarcasm) I don't know what the extent of the saturation of commercializing has reached, but here in NZ you literally have animes (2-3 five days a week) that are dedicated to promoting a product. I can't think of the examples because, honestly they aren't worth looking at. It irates me to watch a few seconds of the show because all they do is stand there and say how great the robot/card/thing is and demonstrate the abilities then point at someone else's robot/card/thing and list all of it's abilities then point out how great it is.. the result is that there is no story and unfortunately that particular marketing ploy works. Only temporarily though because it becomes a fad, and we all know that fads don't last.
23. I'm with Baron, I like the OL as it is.. mostly, it's only just a few members that somewhat annoy me but that's what makes it more interesting. Not to mention you can't just "change" the way people act on the boards especially if you 'prove them wrong' in a rather brutal manner causing them to become very defensive. I think the problem with wanting more "discussions" in terms of politics, economics etc. is that politics tends to be very isolated to a particular country, mostly America obviously and a lot of the members on this board I suspect aren't old enough to vote. And another thing is that, I know almost nothing about the politics in my own country let alone another one, simply because it's redundant as my views on any such political topic are null until I'm old enough to 'vote'. That's my problem though isn't it ^^" Secondly, this is an anime board and how many of us are educated enough or even willing to research in-depth into an economic (or any other similar type of discussion) to be able to have a very strongly educated opinion about it? I know there are plenty of strong opinions, but it's not always easy to be well educated in it. I know Siren is obviously very well educated in the literature department, hey I even admire the quality of his posts because of the legibility and style. There are other members I admire for the same/similar reasons. Anyway bottom line, I like the forum. Maybe the mods should be a little more heavy handed on the people who dissect the same post ten-times over. It does become quite tedious.
24. Gah!! It took me and entire TWO days to read all of this, mostly because I had to sift through all of the positive comments you've been getting : P IT's so punny and punfully punned. Teehehehe.. honestly, I wish I had started reading it as it came ^^"
25. If you're really so unwilling, and since he is family and it is an ongoing problem. You could do a temporary compromise. People who steal tend to have issues, maybe his isn't a financial one. I don't really know, but it could just be a personality disorder and could be helped with some counselling and with a clearly stated consequence, which is if he doesn't change he will have charges pressed against him. Has he been charged with theft before? If he has, then more charges wouldn't work obviously.. it's like constantly getting detention on a larger scale. Just as long as he realizes he has lost the trust of you and others.. Ultimately it's really just a matter of what you feel is best in this situation considering how well you know him and how it would affect him.
