I picked old people because old people have the advantage of wisdom on their side. That makes tham a pretty dangerous villian in my opinion.

I love Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo. You people need to understand that this is a COMEDY anime. It's not supposed to be smart. Its supposed to be funny, and its one of the few animes that make me laugh out loud. Yeah, it is weird and wacky. So what? Its a comedy! Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo is a incredibly funny anime and i cannot wait to see more of it. I hope you people can give it a chance.

Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
dposse replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
I have another huge announcement made by AdultSwim for everyone here. http://www.adultswim.com/williams/news/index.html?http%3A//www.adultswim.com/williams/news/articles/default.html
Halloween Special: Kakurenbo 10/07/2005 New York, NY (October 5, 2005) - Central Park Media is proud to announce its award-winning CG sci-fi horror anime Kakurenbo: Hide & Seek is to be broadcast just in time for Halloween on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block. An Adult Swim Halloween special and the Kakurenbo worldwide network television premiere, CPM's Kakurenbo: Hide & Seek will air at midnight on October 29th between episodes of Adult Swim favorites Fullmetal Alchemist and Samurai Champloo. "Kakurenbo is an amazing, frightening, beautiful animation," said Newton Grant, Business Development Manager at Central Park Media. "And for Adult Swim to air the gritty, gothic story in time for Halloween, we couldn't be happier." Kakurenbo: Hide & Seek is the first film by the new animation studio YAMATOWORKS, an independent computer graphics production house founded by Syuhei Morita, a veteran of the prolific Studio 4C (The Animatrix, Steamboy). Morita left Studio 4C to found YAMATOWORKS to create CG productions with the look and feel of a traditional 2D animation. Despite Kakurenbo being YAMATOWORKS's first project, Kakurenbo attracted some of the biggest voice acting talent on both sides of the Pacific -- its cast led by Junko Takeuchi (Naruto) in Japan and Michael Sinterniklaas (Alien 9, Fullmetal Alchemist) in North America. Screened at more than twenty of the most-prestigious film festivals around the world including the Tokyo Anime Fair, Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival, and Fantasia International Film Festival, Kakurenbo: Hide & Seek has won awards including Best Short Film at Fantasia and the Exemplary Production Award at the Tokyo Anime Fair. Preview showings at Anime Expo, Comic-Con, and Otakon this past summer have been standing room only, and Kakurenbo continually receives critical acclaim. Play Magazine, a leading anime and gaming periodical, recently called Kakurenbo as timeless as it is beautiful." Anime on DVD, one of the most-visited anime websites, said Kakurenbo is "Haunting. Beautiful. Tragic. Brilliant."
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=4485 Wow!!! This is AWESOME!!!!!!!!! I can't wait for Halloween this year! :D -
It is really weird. But its coming on tonight! In fact, its coming on at 10:30! In 15 minutes. They are doing a repeat of the episode from last night, i think.

From http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=3085 :
Plot Summary: Bo Bobo is a man with the incredible power of hearing the voices of hair and using his own to fight. He uses his power to fight off the Margarita Empire and all of EmperorTsuru Tsuruiina's minions who are stealing the hair off of anyone they find to power up their emperor.
Bobo is a very strange anime that sorta reminds me of Rave Master. It has some of the same strange inhuman type characters mixed with human characters. I saw a few minutes of it when Cartoon Network showed the "sneak premire" of Bobo. It is pretty much about this guy who can hear hair and wants to stop the empire from destroying everyones hair. It is a comedy/action type like Rave Master too. I think its a perfect anime for Toonami. I just don't know exactly how popular it will be. What do you think of Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo?

Thank you sooo much!!! ^___^ I fixed it!

Please!! Someone, help me. Somethings wrong with Myotaku. I was changing my Introduction, and now the rest of my site doesn't show up!!!! Please, help me. What should i do??? http://www.myotaku.com/users/dposse/
-
Alright. I just did that. Thanks.
-
Why is the Introduction soo small? I mean, 1500 is too little for me!!! I wanna put more of my poems and some lyrics in my Intro, but i can't do it because i dont have enough room. Could you PLEASE raise the limit?
-
Im having a large problem with the Introduction box in "edit profile". If i press backspace at all in that thing, it deletes EVERYTHING. Why the heck does this happen??? It makes it very hard to change stuff. If anyone can help, that'll be great. Thanks. :) Well, i've found another problem. The picture uploader is messed up. I changed my picture from a picture of Goku to a picture of Maromi. They i change the picture of Maromi to another picture of maromi. The first maromi picture didnt change! Then i tried to change it again to a different picture. Nada. Then i picked a different picture. Guess what? It went back to the picture of Goku! Whats going on? :animeangr
I just want to correct this, in case there is a general perception relating to this. The only thing that about length that I want Moderators to remove is when someone either makes a single-word post (like just saying "Yes" or "No" to a question), or when someone posts something that isn't terribly relevant or doesn't really explain anything. It is possible to have posts that are only two or three sentences, provided that they are relevant and readable. That's all, really. So, I just wanted to step in and dispel any idea that we delete posts based on some kind of set number of words or something. Obviously we encourage thoughtful posts, but it is possible to be thoughtful without writing a novel. ~_^ Thanks to everyone for your responses, I am really finding this thread very useful so far. Please feel free to continue responding!
Ah! Well, thank you very much for correcting me. I'm very happy to hear that it's not a rule. :)

Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements

I've got some Cartoon Network news to share with you all. It has to do with the new Yu-gi-oh series. Here it is:
Yu-Gi-Oh! GX on Miguzi (2005-09-26 12:41:43) Yu-Gi-Oh! GX premieres on Cartoon Network's on Miguzi block October 10th at 5pm. New episodes will air 5 days a week, with 1 hour of repeats on Saturday and Sunday at 6pm (4 episodes on weekends, 5 during the week).
Well, this is interesting. I've heard alot about Yu-gi-oh GX and i'm very curious to see what its all about. -
It's that time again, my dear children. ~_^ Actually, this time I have a very simple/short little survey for you to take if you are interested. I'd like you to select an option from the poll and then respond to the two questions below. Of course, the survey is entirely optional, but I'd really appreciate it if you take a few moments to provide this really critical feedback. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to use this thread. Anyway, on to the questions. A) Which aspect of OtakuBoards do you find to be the most negative/confusing? B) What is your favorite aspect of OtakuBoards? Feel free to answer with as much or as little detail as you like. It's up to you, really.
A) One of the most negative things that i don't like about Otakuboards is the rule that you must write a long post or it will be deleted. I find that to be a bit much. I know its to try to cut down on spam, but sometimes people just cannot do it. It also limits to the kind of topics you can put on Otakuboards. B) The look. I really like the look of Otakuboards. Also, there are soo many intellegent people here that will help you with anything if you just ask them. soo, yeah. thats what i think.
The way I read it, it seemed like dposse meant animals could just 'run faster' when it suited them, that they'd tell their genes 'Psst... make sure that my children can run wickedddddddddddd fast.' But maybe I was wrong.
:animeswea Im sorry. Like i said, my biology teacher told us that a few days ago and my memory is like a leaky bucket. I think its more about natural selection than evolution. Anyway, im sorry. Please forget about my post.
-
I agree with Siren. Let me all give you another example of Survival of the Fittest that gives a pretty good reason why Evolution works. The example take two animals from Africa, the cheetah and the Gazelle. Now lets just say that there are two kinds of each a cheetah. One kind of cheetah can only run 45 MPH, while the other can run 50MPH. Lets just say that the gazelle can run 50 miles per hour. Now, the 50MPH cheetah will be well fed because it can catch alot of gazelles. The 45MPH one will not because it can only get the very slow or old gazelles. Now, the gazelles hate being eaten so when they pass their genes on to the next generation, the next generations speed goes up to say 55MPH. The 50MPH cheetah starts to starve, so when they pass on their genes to the next generation, the next generation of cheetahs speed goes up to 55 MPH. The cycle continues. (i'm very sorry if i got this example wrong. I heard it from my Biology teacher a few days ago.) :animeswea

Two very nice announcements. Bobobo in october, and IGPX in november!! Yay!!!!!!! Thats really awesome. :) Too bad i don't have showtime anymore. :animecry: I really wanna see Peacemaker. Oh well. :animesigh -----------------------------------------------------------
Anime deuts on Encore Action channel (2005-09-07 12:30:51) Encore Action began broadcasting Texhnolyze last night at 12:05am; the first three episodes will repeat Friday, September 9th, at midnight; no new episodes will be shown following. Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death and Rebirth will broadcast on September 20th and 23rd at midnight, while The End of Evangelion will appear on the 27th and the 30th at the same time. Submarine 707 will air October 4th, with an encore on the 7th.
Yay!!!!!!!!!! Too bad its coming on WEEKS before AdultSwim shows the series. :animecry: -
Intellegent Design is crap. Its a based upon faith and religion, not science. It's nothing more than saying "God created everything! End of story". But, the theory of Evolution says that things took millions upon millions of years to become what it is. It needs to stay away from schools. The theory of Evolution is just a theory, but it is scientifically possible, unlike Intellegent Design. Intellegent Design would be a great class for sunday school, but normal public school should only be taught Evolution. I don't know about you all, but i prefer science to religion. Faith has no place in school.

dposse replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
Yeah, this is huge news if it's true. AdultSwim has said before that they COULDN'T do subtitles because they didn't have the equipment for it. It is even in their FAQ on Adultswim.com that they can't do it. But imagine if they can, and people like it!! Imagine the possibiltes for AdultSwim then! It would be an amazing step foward for AdultSwim. -

Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
dposse replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
There is already a Anime Network. But its right now only being shown in the west and south of USA. It has some great anime on it. I've been watching the "The Anime Network On Demand", and seeing anime like GANTZ, Pretear, DN Angel, and Noir. If you want to get the Anime Network, you have to ask your cable company for it http://www.theanimenetwork.com -

Anime Does more anime demand mean more hentai demand?
dposse replied to SilentSecurity's topic in Otaku Central
I think its true that as the demand for anime increases, so does the demand for hentai. But its the parents responsiblity to know the difference between anime and hentai. Anime has fanservice, but it never goes as far as Hentai does. Parents today need to sit down with their children and say "This is alright, this is not". Until that happens, stories like yours will become more and more common.
