1. I LOVE Serial Experiments Lain. It is one of my favorite animes ever. It is a kind of anime that you can't watch just once and understand. You have to watch it muliple times to completely get a handle on what exactly is going on. I agree with you that it is a amazing anime. The wired is a kind of internet. Its hard to explain. The anime does explain alot, but leaves somethings for you to ponder. After you watch Serial Experiments Lain completely, and you think you have a understanding on it, go to this website: http://www.cjas.org/~leng/lain.htm . That website, Thought Experiments Lain, gives a awesome and thought provoking analysis of Serial Experiments Lain. I have to warn you, it contains alot of spoliers. Well, i hope youy enjoy the rest of Serial Experiments Lain. :)
 2. This is amazing!!!!
New Acquisition: Neon Genesis Evangelion Although no air date has yet been decided, Adult Swim will, in the near future, air the classic anime show Neon Genesis Evangelion. NGE is the story of Shinji Ikari, a teenage boy recruited by his estranged father to pilot the giant Evangelion Unit-01 to defend the earth against a horde of monsterous, invading alien creatures known as the Angels. A unique mix of exceptional battle scenes, religious symbolism, psychological storytelling and teenage angst, Neon Genesis Evangelion has been referred to by many as one of the greatest anime shows ever made.
Yes!!!!!! This is AWESOME!!!! Im soooo freaking happy that they got Evangelion!!! I just hope its not edited too badly. Other than that, its great. :animesmil
 3. Please don't double-post. - Dagger At the Anime Expo, some weird annoucements were made about anime on tv. Cartoon Network will show the entire Neon Genesis Evangelion series, Showtime will show Chrono Chusade, and G4Tv will show Colorful. Here is the announcement:
ADV?s license and other announcements were presented by the trio of John Ledford, Matt Greenfield, and David Williams. As reported earlier, ADV has acquired the license to the original Macross TV series, previously released in the US by Animeigo. Unlike Animeigo, ADV hopes to produce a dub for the series, thus potentially making Macross available in English for the first time. ADV has also signed agreements with Cartoon Network to show the entire Neon Genesis Evangelion TV series, with Showtime to show Chrono Crusade and Peacemaker Kurogane, and with G4 to show Colorful. The issues that have caused the second volume of Princess Tutu to be delayed have been resolved, and it is scheduled for release some time in the fall. Release of the second season of Kaleidostar will commence by the end of the year or early next year, after the Season 1 Thinpak is released. Other planned Thinpak releases include Angelic Layer, Those Who Hunt Elves, and the Slayers motion pictures. Coming up on the release schedule in September is the special edition of Sakura Diaries, in October, the first volumes of Godannar, Yumeria, Ghost Stories and Magical Detective Loki Ragnarok, and in November, the first volume of Legend of Moby Dick ? exact title subject to confirmation. On the other hand, ADV has decided to pass on releasing Tactics, which was originally announced as a license at the 2004 Anime Expo.
This is very unexpected, and really weird. Im happy about it, i think. First, AdultSwim better get Evangelion or its going to be destroyed by the censors. And how the heck can G4 show Colorful? Colorful is close to softcore hentai. Chrono Crusade is a awesome anime, too bad i dont have Showtime anymore. :animesigh -------------------- This is amazing!!!! 4. Yeah, i watch Anime Unleashed whenever i get the chance. I love the anime they have on there. My favorites are Serial Experiments Lain, Soul Taker, and Betterman. They are all really great animes. I just wish it wasnt on soo early in the morning!! I have to be really hyper or i usually fall asleep lol.
 5.
The thing I hate the most on [adult swim] is how often they change their schedule. The day they took Fullmetal Alchemist off of Saturday was the last straw! I mean sure, Trigun, Paranoia Agent, Samurai Champloo, Inu-Yasha, and FLCL are on, but NO NEW FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST!? I will never stop hating them until FMA is brought to Saturday. This their despicable(but alright) schedule: 10:00 P.M.-Inu-Yasha 10:30 P.M.-Samurai Champloo 11:00 P.M.-Paranoia Agent 11:30 P.M.-s-CRY-ed 12:00 A.M.-FLCL 12:30 A.M.-Trigun 1:00 A.M.-4:00 A.M.-repeat 4:00 A.M.- Lupin III 4:30 A.M.- Case Closed (buncha....) :animeangr I want my FMA on weekends back!!!!!! :flaming: :angry2: :cussing:
Relax. The reason why we don't have new episodes of FullMetal Alchemist is because FUNimation needs to finish dubbing the rest of the episodes so AdultSwim can show them. We don't have an official date yet of when it should be back, but the most logical time would be sometime in the fall of this year. Until then, we have new episodes of four wonderful animes plus some anime movies we can watch. And dont forget, you can watch the reruns of FulMetal Alchemist Mondays-Wednesdays. Just be patient! :animesmil
 6. I've been hearing alot of good things about Revolutionary Girl Utena. And for the first time, i'll be able to see the movie. Its coming on tonight (6/18/05) on AZNTv, also known as The International Network at 11:30pm eastern. From the AnimeNewNetwork:
Plot Summary: In a loose retelling of the Revolutionary Girl Utena TV series, Utena Tenjou arrives at Ohtori Academy, only to be immediately swept up in a series of duels for the hand of her classmate Anthy Himemiya and the power she supposedly holds. At the same time, Utena reunites with Touga Kiryuu, a friend from her childhood who seems to know the secrets behind the duels. Utena must discover those secrets for herself, before the power that rules Ohtori claims her and her friends, new and old.
It sounds interesting. I think i will tape it tonight so i dont fall asleep in the middle of it, lol. :animeswea So, what do you think of Revolutionary Girl Utena: The Movie?
 7. I don't really like labels because they lead to stereotypes. And that leads to the dark side, lol. Anyway, im a geek/nerd. Im a geek first and a nerd second. My school is pretty much run by the popular kids, the potheads, and the football idiots. And i was surprised this year that i found soo many geeks and nerds like me. In a few short months, i found 8 kids who were just like me. It was awesome! We sit at lunch and talk about things like how Apple is going with intel, and if Macs can survive, and technology.....its really cool. And we pretty much have the same interests in music, video games, ect. :animesmil
 8. Well, AdultSwim is changing their schedule AGAIN for the thousandth time.
So, like, hey...yeah. We changed stuff. Here's the new Saturday lineup, effective on June 25. 11 p.m. Futurama 11:30 p.m. Samurai Champloo Midnight InuYasha 12:30 a.m. S-CRY-ed 1 a.m. Paranoia Agent 1:30 a.m. FLCL 5 a.m. Lupin 5:30 a.m. Case Closed Please enjoy this virtual lozenge. *lozenge*
Soo, yeah. They took out Trigun again!! :animecry: And now the "all action saturday" is gone too. Oh well. At least we have new episodes of Samurai Champloo, InuYasha, s-CRY-ed, and Paranoia Agent.
 9.
Okay here's a question of my own: What are the best places to go eat shop and visit in your area. What places are unique to your area. And what places should you just avoid?
Theres not alot. Theres a mcdonalds and a supermarket, and the supermarket has alot of great food like fish and chips and pizza. So i would say the supermarket. Again, the supermarket is the best (and only) place to shop. There is a small nature center in my town that's pretty cool. It has nature trails and stuff like that. One place i avoid is this one park. Its full of idiots and drugs. Thats pretty much it. :animesigh
 10. I live in a small little town in Connecticut called Ansonia. Its pretty much the middle of nowhere. My town is soo small you can walk from one end to the other in less than 20 minutes. Its really boring too. The biggest employer is a supermarket. *sigh*
 11. Serial Experiments Lain: The entire thing was a WTF? moment. Which is what makes it soo great. Perfect Blue:
The rape scene. plus, all the "her going insane" moments when you as a viewer where in a roller coster of "what the heck?"
Wolfs Rain: The true ending of it when
the eye stays behind and seems to infect paradise.
Big O: When we find out that
Angel is a Big, Angel is what caused the memory loss 40 years ago, that the entire world is a stage and everyone is a actor, when the world restarts with Angel and Roger still friends. Oh, and when he find out that the bandage guy died in one of the later episodes.
Cowboy Bebop:
The end fight when at that last moment that both of them clash, and you see them both fall.
X, the movie: When
that guys head gets chopped off
I love holy ***** moments in anime. They are the best kind. Well, i think thats all i have for now. If i think of anymore, i'll post them. :D
 12.
Ok people I've checked and this is what I got...(don't hurt me if they change it, you know how they are!!) The movie Metroplis will air May 14 at 12:00am, right after Samurai Champloo! All you Inuyasha fans.... The movie(affections) will air one week later (may 21) 12:00am! Then May 28 they will air new eps at 11:30, along with Samurai Champloo at 11:30, Paranoia Agent at 12:00, then rounding out the "new" block will be s-CRY-ed at 12:30! If you feel like reruns just keep watching... You got FLCL at 1:00, Trigun at 1:30, Lupin and Case Closed (way too early or late depends on how you look at it) at 5:00 and 5:30 am Then for all you who care what else they show..... American dad, May 12 at 11:00, Family Guy,June 9 at 11:30, and Harvey Birdman,July 10 at 12:15. Now remember don't shot the messenger!! They might (ok we all know it's very likely) change this schedule!!!! All times are based on AS time!
Yeah, i posted the schedule in this thread when it first came out. Its a couple pages back. I just put all the anime, nothing about the comedy shows because this forum is about anime.
 13. Cool, i love doing surveys. Age-17 Gender-Male From-East coast of America. I came across anime when i was very young. I was 7 or 8 years old and Salior Moon and DragonBall Z was on tv. I watched those shows alot. Then shows like Pokemon and Digimon came on, and i was instantly hooked. And now i watch all the anime i can get my hands on. :) Yeah, anime influences me alot i think. I've become more open minded. And because of anime, i no longer watch movies or shows just for the action. I watch them for the story. It is becoming more popular with the western world because anime is soo freaking cool! Pokemon, Salior Moon, and DragonBall Z helped make anime popular and it will just continue to grow in popularity. The story attracts me to the anime. If it doesnt have a thought provoking or interesting story, i dont usually watch it. Yeah, i want to learn about Japan. Japan has such a interesting past and culture. But thats not the top reason why i watch anime. No, i've never been to Japan. But i would really like to go, someday in the future. 1. Japan has alot of respect for people. 2. Japans culture is deeply rooted in tradition. 3. Japan has been influenced alot by America. I really hope that helps your paper!! :animesmil
 14.
Does anyone know what version of One Piece is going to air on Toonami? I mean, at this point I'm just going to assume that it'll be the regular 4Kids dub. But it'd be really awesome if they... uh, de-censored it or something. I mean, it didn't get very good ratings on the 4Kids block; I can't see something with edits significantly worse than those in Zatch Bell gaining a big following among Toonami viewers. It looks like AS pretty much has a full plate for the rest of 2005--which simultaneously makes me happy and sad, because there are some Geneon and FUNimation shows that I'd love to see on CN (Samurai 7 and Fafner come to mind). The Mars Daybreak and Scrapped Princess (both from Bandai) would also do quite well on AS, I think. ~Dagger~
It seems that One Piece is going to air on Toonami next Saturday, April 23rd. I dont know the time, just the day. I saw it on a commerical on Saturday night when i was watching Teen Titans, and i wrote myself a note so i wouldnt forget. lol. I have no idea if the One Piece thats coming on Toonami is the edited one or not. My guess is that it will be. But i guess that we have to wait and see if Toonami is going to give the fans what they want, a unedited One Piece. :animesmil
 15.
Toonami just needs to take a back seat. Adult Swim should be airing the uncensored versions of YYH, DBZ, and RK. FMA is an incredible show that I was surprised by. The first five episodes were weak, but it picked up steam and is in full sail. GITS:SAC has been a good watch with great animation, and music. The characters are interesting, but the story is a little weak. Inuyasha has been as great as it has ever been. I really hope more Case Closed is aired. This is a great series to watch and really be entertained by. Can't wait for Samurai Champloo, although I have the first two DVD's. Hopefully, AS will air every episode even if the all of the DVD's haven't been released yet. PA and Scryed; I haven't seen yet, so it will be interesting to watch these shows.
Adult Swim can never air uncensored versions of anything as long as they are on the same channel as Cartoon Network. Turner Legal is the people who control what goes on in Adult Swim. Until Adult Swim gets its own chanel, nothing can be uncensored. We all want uncensored animes on Adult Swim, but its not going to happen. Will Adult Swim get its own channel one day? Maybe, but they need more content. They dont have enough shows for a 24 hour tv station. Case Closed will be airing on Adult Swim, but not will any new episodes. They will keep airing the old episodes because ratings for it were low. I hate this as much as anyone. I love Case Closed, and i really want to see new episodes. But they have made up their minds. I wish they didnt do this. Oh well... :animesigh
 16.
When The Batman leaves the line-up then Yuyu Hakusho would be able to return. Dragonball Z's redub will be taking up the 2nd One Piece slot in May so July is the earliest it could premiere. The timing actually works out quite nicely because without interruption the remaining YYH episodes would run up until about the time the license expired so the show might end in a big marathon ala Dragonball Chronicles. Currently Toonami's schedule is stuffed. A lot of what it is stuffed with may be crap but it is crap that companies are paying big bucks for to air. We're extremely lucky DICE is actually leaving the block. Currently Toonami is in a slump but as long as they keep airing Duel Masters, Justice League Unlimited, and Zatch Bell and Teen Titans returns to premieres soon I still have some reason to watch the block and come fall we get Naruto (which WON'T be a hackjob), Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, IGPX, YYH, the possible return of Gundam SEED, plus the announcement of if MEGAS gets new episodes (hopefully done by Madhouse since they rock) and just maybe unhacked episodes of One Piece, so we'll be getting good stuff later in the year. Adult Swim is rocking harder than ever with Ghost in the Shell and Full Metal Alchemist plus Samurai Champloo, Paranoia Agent, Scryed, some movies, 2nd Gig, and the likely acquisition of Chromartie High coming later in the year so AS has nothing to worry about, especially since Milk-Chan will likely be off the air by the time every episode has been repeated once.
The Anime Network has the rights to Chromartie High. So it wont be coming on Adult Swim anytime soon. Although, that would make a great addition to Adult Swim, its staying on The Anime Network. And i also want to see a better Toonami, with more Yu Yu Hakusho. I really miss Yu Yu Hakusho. I hope it comes on soon, with the ending to Chapter Black. I agree about Adult Swim. Samurai Champloo, Paranoria Agent, Scryed, and all those movies....2005 is going to be a fantastic year for anime!! I cant wait. :animesmil
 17. Bugs. I hate bugs. Bugs just creep me out. All kinds of bugs. Spiders, ants, bees....it doesnt matter what kind, i just dont like them. I tend to get really sick if i see a bug or one gets too close to me. I cant even touch a bug, they arew soo gross. I once threw up really badly because a friend of mine killed a bug in front of me. Soo, yeah. Thats my Phobia. Although, i dont know the exact name for it, i do not like bugs.
 18.
I found some screencaps at another forum (don't worry; I'm positive they're official), so I attached them to this post. Just be warned that the image is kind of big. Presumably most of the shots were grabbed from the opening sequence. I really want to see how the other villains will turn out, especially Him. ~Dagger~
:animestun OMG! You have to be KIDDING! Powerpuff Girls....as a anime??? That sounds both really weird and very awesome. I mean, it was already partly Japanese, but with american type animation. And look at those pictures! They have hands! Hazzah!! Hey Dagger, i think you got your wish. It looks like you will be getting a transformation seqence.... which will make it a little too much like Salior Moon. But thats ok. I cant wait to see Salior Moon Z!
 19. A huge announcement has been made by adult swim. They have finally announced the premire dates of shows and movies in 2005. Here are all the premire dates for the new series, movies and returning series. May Samurai Champloo premires May 14th. Paranoia Agent premires May 28th. S-CRY-Ed premires May 28th. Inuyasha-A love that transcends time premires May 14th. Metropolis premires May 21st. June Brand new episodes of Inuyasha. July Escaflowne the movie premires. Date TBA. That is one fantastic year that Adult Swim is going to give us. I cant wait for May. It looks like that is going to be one great month!! :D Does anyone know what S-CRy-Ed is? I've never heard of it before.
 20. I was going to make a thread about this, but i thought it was wise to put it here. Here is my very angry rant on the election: Ladies and gentleman, Our country is doomed. John Kerry, after a very close election, has concided to George W. Bush. This has intensified my hate and anger for President Bush. I dont think our country can survive another 4 years under Bush. Our Ecomony, the war, Gay marriage.....All this is going to go down the drain because of Bush. The President has done a good job protecting us after 9/11. That i will admit. But, his mind is so focused on Iraq and its people that he forgets our own needs. Gas prices have hit record highs, and it will go much higher. People have lost jobs. The President is planning to change the consistution to ban Gay marriage. There is nothing wrong with Homosexuals, and he is using his religious views to justify it. The President wears his religion like a badge, and religon should NEVER be a part of politics. I wonder if VP Cheneys daughter agrees with that. Will our Soliders get out of Iraq anytime soon? I doubt it. The President has pushed all our allies away and went alone with just a few countrys helping us. Is that right? I dont think so. Our country is now going to be ruled by the repulicans. The repulicans are not outnumbering the democrats in both the house and the senate. The United States could never be more divided than it is right now. And after all this, my one hope is that i will be able to get a job next year. That doesnt seem very possible right now, does it?
 21. This thread is going to be about both Read or Die Tv and the Read or Die OVA. I just saw the first two epiodes of Read or Die Tv last night. It seems that G4Techtv got lucky and got Read or Die Tv. I'm glad they did too. G4TechTv has never edited there animes like Cartoon Network does. They have always taken animes that Cartoon Network could never have shown (look at SE:Lain). Well, i saw the first two episodes of Read or Die Tv. And i really like it. The first two episodes were really good in starting the story. They showed why the main charcter needs bodyguards and how she meets up with them. It also sets up nicely the other 24 episodes. There powers are really interesting too. Making anything out of paper is a really cool and useful thing.
We already saw in the first two episodes that they can make clothes, plates, birds, and a few other things out of paper
It is going to be interesting what kind of things they can do with this power and how they will use it to protect people. I really like Read or Die Tv. I really want to see all 26 episodes of this anime. I also want to see the Read or Die OVA, which will air on Adult Swim in november. I cant wait to see the OVA. I just hope that they dont edit it so much that they kill it. So, discuss Read or Die Tv and the Read or Die OVA! :D I merged your thread with the existing Read or Die one. Please be sure to check for existing topics first, either by searching the forum or by looking through the Official Threads Directory Sticky at the top of the forum. -Solo
 22. Another huge announcement by the people at Adult Swim! Here it is: The Good News ? Fullmetal Alchemist is back to its original premiere date of Saturday, November 6, at midnight. The Bad News ? Because of this change, InuYasha will leave the Saturday night schedule after its October 16 airing. (Weeknight reruns of InuYasha will continue. Premieres of InuYasha will resume on Wednesday night, December 22, at 12:30 a.m.) Although I'm angry about no new episodes of Inuyasha for a while, i'm soo glad about FMA coming on in november!! What do you think about it?
 23. Huge Announcement by Adult Swim! Here it is: *Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex will now premiere Saturday, November 6, at 12:30 a.m. for the beginning of its Saturday run. *The Super Milk-Chan Show premieres Sunday, November 7, at 12:30 a.m. to begin its Sunday night run. Adult Swim will not be airing the Americanized version, but rather the straight dub of the Japanese version. *The anime movie Metropolis will kick-start a new year of Saturdays on January 1 at midnight. *InuYasha premieres will move to weeknights at 12:30 a.m. beginning Monday, January 4. *Fullmetal Alchemist will now premiere on Saturday, January 8, at midnight where it will begin its Saturday run. I am really angry about this! FMA gets pushed back to January,Super Milk Chan on Adult Swim in its Dubbed form, and no Case Closed! I do like Inuyasha on the weekdays with new episodes, but the other stuff is horrible. I guess this is really the end for Case Closed. :( Well, what do you think about this?
 24. Yeah, I've been wondering that too. How do we join clubs on Otakuboards? What clubs are there on Otakuboards? (Sorry mods, i couldn't think of anything else to say)
 25. Now before you flame me, please understand that i know almost nothing about mangas. So please bare with me. Why should i read mangas? The mangas i see at my local mall is Inuyasha and Gundam, Yu-gi-oh, and some others. The magnas look exacty like the animes. I know that animes are made out of Magnas. So, why should i waste $9.00 to buy a comic that is the same as the anime? Or am i missing something? Is it not the same? The Inuyasha magna looked the same. Please help me out. Please teach me why i should be saving up my allowence to buy Magnas. Thank you.
