RPG Konoha Chronicles - The Torn Earth [M - V, L]
Drizzt Do'urden replied to Adas's topic in Theater
Okaru had grown to like Hoto during their little walk. Though he was pathetically weak, it was nice to have someone to talk to. As the two entered the building, they came upon the scene. Hotaru had already left, apparently with Matsuda. Hikaru was sitting alone in class, apparently she couldn't take Hotaru, what a surprise there. Hoto started to approach Hikari, Okaru put hand on his shoulder. "She brought this on heself, come we need to work on your genjitsu. Classically the exam is a demonstration of your skills and your taijitsu" Otaku led Hoto out of the class and back to the garden. Okaru crouched down into a ready stance when he first heard the noise. It was less of a ruslting and more of a crashing as somone launched themselves at the pair. Okaru put his foot on Hoto's chest, kicking him just enough to get out of the way, and allowing Okaru to jump off his chest, avoiding the fast moving person. As he settled himself Chozo was standing there, in a ready stance. Okaru thought long and hard, but could honestly not think of one thing about Chozo, he'd alway sat in the back of the class, he didn't even know if he was part of a clan or not. "Why don't you back off Chozo. We're getting ready for the exams" Hoto walked over to Chozo. Suddenly Chozo struck out with a fist, Hoto caught it easily and sent Chozo over his head. Landing on his feet he faced Hoto wided eyed, "How, how did you do that?" "That's enough chozo!" Okaru stepped in, he too was curious how weak little Hoto kept up with the speed of that attack. Chozo quickly composed himself and looked at Okaru with eyes that held a deep hatred. "Next time you won't be so lucky Okiori." He turned and lept away, that was strange. He dind't think he'd ever done anything to Chozo, but why would he just strike like that. Shaking it off he focused on Hoto again, "So all your skill is in Taijitsu?" It was an obvious question, but it explained a lot. The gennin exams were usually based on Genjitsu. "I think you're going to be just fine this year Hoto." Okaru had already made a plan to help the boy pass, he just hoped that Hotaru would get on board. She had no reason to, she'd never even talked to Okaru, so would she really risk her status as gennin to help Hoto? (Of course she wasn't a gennin yet, but if the test was on Genjitsu there wouldn't be a problem at all for her) . "Damn him" Okaru crouched down and made the handsign of the rabbit, he threw one hand out and pushed Hoto out of the way. He saw the Kunai knife as he came at him, but he wasn't worried. He threw the other hand that had been storing chakra since he made the handsign, a blast of wind came fourth. It was concentrated in a ball, the ball threw the knife aside as it contacted it, and proceeded to blast into the person who threw it. Okaru drew his knife and lept threw the bushes, pinning Chozo to the ground. "I thought I told you to beat it Chozo." If the boy had been surprised he didnt' show it, he stared at Okaru with that look of hatred from earlier. "You could've killed us with that knife idiot." Okaru let him up and put his knife away. "If that would've happened I can't say it would've bothrered me too much" Chozo lept away, this time Okaru focused on him until he didn't feel him at all. "I think we need to start heading back Hoto. You go ahead and go back to class, study up on your chakra markers for replacement Jutsus. I think that's what the exam is going to be over, if I had to guess. Hoto didn't say a word, he was obviously surprised at the apparent strength of the "wind bullet" jutsu. Okaru wouldn't dare tell him that was the best he could do, and it wasn't even correct. The ball of wind is supposed to have a pointier tip, impalling the foe. Instead the best he could muster was a ball shape. After Hoto was out of site, Okaru turned the other way and started looking for Hotaru. He figured her and Matsuda went to practice somewhere, and he wanted to talk to her about his plan to get Hoto passed. It was simple, they just needed to fool Raiga-Sensei into thinking Hoto performed the Jutsu, with Hotaru's skills it wouldn't be that hard. Just a diversion on Okaru's part, and when Sensei was diverted Hotaru would perform the replacement Jutsu. It sounded easy enough.... -
Islam Is The Light: Baby Doll Mayhem.
Drizzt Do'urden replied to Raiha's topic in General Discussion
I wish I would have heard it before reading this. Because I'm not sure if I'm hearing "islam is the light" because it say sit, or because all the hype about it and then listening to it. I did hear it either way though. I would have to agree with Raiha's first post about the intentions though. If they did it on purpose then they need to bring out toys that recognize other religons. Though in classic Raiha form, you can never tell how much of her post is geard towards firing others up and how much of it is actual opinion. I sort've wonder if its just cooing but sounds similar to "islam is the light". Some people said they heard it spout "satan is the king". So it very well could be cooing that just sounds somewhat similar to the islam thingy. The only main problem I would have with a toy like this, is 1. it should be clearly labled. Just as a doll that says "Jesus Loves me" should be labled properly. Its not a "I hate islam and i wouldn't buy their **** toys" thing. Its more of a I don't want my children to pick their religion based on a toy thing, and you can argue that kids don't do that. But kids are very impressionable and can be influenced by something as simple as that. -
Keith stood in front of the suit, for some reason he always loved the process of suiting up. The way the mechanical arms attached the arms/legs to him. It was probably because of the feeling he got, the feeling that machines were working for humans, the way it was supposed to be. Keith choose to sit beside Borris on the chopper, he'd been wanting to talk to him about the "Strategy" he had set up. As soon as everyone piled up, the choppers pilot came over the comm. link, "Everyone buckeled in? We need to get moving, those artilery drones will take this chopper out if we get to close." The chopper pitched as they were in the air, Keith was amazed that they were able to still advance technology, even after the machines took over. The new choppers were completly invisible to radar, and could fly at speeds exceeding 500 mph. "T-minus 5 minutes until we hit the LZ Sheep" This time it was the voice of the co-pilot. "Oh shit" Borris looked around to the group, "change of plan. Leon, you are still in the back, but the rest of you are up with me and Ivan." He looked to Ivan who was obviously not happy at the change in events. "There's a lot more than we anticipated, we're looking at 50 infantry drones and a dozen heavy weapons." In training, Keith had alwas marveled at the extent of the sensors in Borris' suit. They were 10 times that of any other piece of equipment the humans possessed. "Oh damn, we've got incoming." Every light and alarm in the chopper was going off. The pilots were in a panic, Keith was too. "Oh damn, what do we do Borris?" Keith realized that picking the window seat was a mistake as Borris grabbed him and chucked him out the door. They were still 50 ft. In the air, but the impact thanks to the suit wasn't so bad. Keith looked up as everyone else started bailing out, all landing heavily. Keith got up to his feet just as Axela yelled "Get down dumbass" She jumped up and tackled Keith to the ground as a mini rocket sailed over his head. "Borris, they picked you up" Leon's voice came over the comm. link, just as the helicopter exploded with the impact of the missile. Neither pilot had made it out..."Oh shit" Keith thought to himself, "This is for real He ran a skimatic on his blasters and took cover. The chopper hoovered over the first drop zone, Leon got up and slid down the line without a word. Keith figured he was "in the zone" as some of the older guys talked.

Okaru heard the commotion behind him, but didn't even bother to look. Most of the class had anticipated the squable between Hotaru and Hikaru to turn into a fight, but honestly he didn't care. He knew that Hikaru was weak, Hotaru strong it should've been short. He paused when he thought about where they were fighting, "Hmm, it could be worth watching, Hotaru's the best in Genjitsu hands down, but could she take Hikaru in a close quarters fight?", Okaru decided to go ahead and continue to lunch. If raiga-sensei caught them fighting it could spell trouble, and Okaru didn't want anything to come in between him and his chance to pass the exams. There was a place, outside of the academy that Okaru took his lunch every day. It was a garden that he honestly had no idea who it belonged to. It was beautiful, full of banzai trees, lotus', and a bunch of flowering trees he couldn't name. Today, however, there was someone else there, Hoto. Hoto was a waste of space in Okaru's eyes. The only reason he was there was his name, Hoto's clan was among the richest in the villiage, though they were probably full of the weakest shinobi. Okaru sat down in his normal spot, that thankfully was well away from Hoto. Okaru grimmaced as he heard the boy get up and make his was towards Okaru. He stared at him, waiting to be offered a seat. "I guess go ahead and sit down" Okaru said, not trying to hide the snippiness in his tone. "I hope you don't mind me imposing on you, I've seen that you come out here. You probably didn't know this garden belongs to my family, don't worry they don't mind people sitting here. That's why they have it kept up so nicely. So are you excited about the exams today?" It took everything in his power not to say something smart back to the boy, he had to keep telling himself that he was just looking for some affirmation that he could do it, Okaru wasn't going to give him that. "I've been training for this for years, looking forward isn't the way to put it. This is just another stepping stone." "Yeah, I'm sure you'll be fine. Me on the other hand, I don't know. I'm not sure if I can do it. How did you become so strong Okaru, I train for hours everyday. Just yesterday I spent 10 hours training after school. I just can't seem to grow any stronger." The way he was talking, hit Okaru. He never realized the kid put so much effort into it, it always seemed as though he was just riding on the coat tails of his clain. "Well, I guess it goes back to how you train. Maybe you should talk to your father about getting you a private sensei, something like a tutor." Lunch was coming to a close, so Okaru got up on his feet and began making his way back to class. He was excited about getting out a little early, some time for some meditation before the exams. Before he got very far, Hoto came running up beside him. "So how is it you train? There must be something you do that I don't." He'd finally gotten on Okaru's nerves. Okaru stopped, faced Hoto and lifted his shirt revealing his scar. He'd never shown it to anyone before, sure some people had seen it, asked about it. But he always just changed the subject, Hoto was the first to ever know who gave it to him. "When this is the price for training, you have to ask is it worth it? Is it worth giving your life to try and be the best? When your own father would do this to you when you don't work as hard as he wants?" Okaru faught back a tear, he'd never spoken of his father's training before, he never thought he'd have too. Okaru fixed his shirt and the two walked back to the academy together in silence. Okaru was excited to see how Hikaru faird against Hotaru. -
As far as the length goes, I really can't tell you. Since my post I've added another hour and a half and I'm not done, though the story seems to be coming to a close I can't say for sure. What's really cool, and sort've sets this apart from alot of shooters is, well for one its in 3rd person. They did away with the HUD system, all the information you need to know is on your suit. Ammo, though you have to keep track of how many "clips" you have left, is right on the gun. Your health is on bars along the spine of your suit, you have what's called static energy that you use to slow down time (not like the matrix slow down, but rather a sort've "time bubble" that only affects a certain area.) The weapons are very unique you have
A Plasma Cutter: Designed to shoot a small beam of light that cuts the limbs off enemies, incidentally that's the way you kill them. A Line Gun: Just like the plasma cutter, except the line is wider, and you can also shoot a timed mine. A Pulse Rifle: An assault rifle, that also shoots a 360 degree blast. A Flame Thrower: A blast of flame, or a ball of napalm that explodes on impact. A Force Gun: Shoots a blast of force energy knocking enemies down, also a grenade that explodes on enemy impact or after few seconds. A Contact Beam: A charged blast, or a 360 degree blast that cuts the legs off enemies. A Ripper: Shoots controlled circular saw blades that can be manipulated for a few seconds, or will just shoot them in straight lines. Another weapon is your kinesis that allows you to pick up and launch objects.
The only drawback I've seen to the game so far is
there really isn't much to figure out. One ofyour suits abilities is to light up a path of light on the ground that leads you to your next objective. They normally involve opening doors so the others in your part can reach a destination, or obtaining an object for one use or another
The really nice thing about this game, is its addicting and I'm sure I'll finish it in time to trade it in for Fable II. If you liked gears of war 2, and Doom 3 this game plays a lot like both of them. There's also zero G missions/combat which are downright awesome, though sort've disorientating, and timed missions in which your suit has a set amount of oxygen (only about 50 secons) and if you don't keep cans of air you find they can be tough. There is a really neat upgrade system they use to upgrade you weapons/powers(kenisis and stasis)/ and suit. You find things called Power nodes which are used at upgrade benches (found all over the place). There is a "circuit" board of sorts for each item that you use these nodes to unlock. They go along a final fantasy X type system where you have to unlock one in order to open pathways so you can upgrade a weapons damage and skip over its clip capacity/speed/reload time. Or any of the others, the only downfall is you have empty spaces where you use a node to unlock a pathway instead of gaining anything. You can purchase the nodes and several other things from stores, which like the benches are located throughout the missions. The stores are were you buy the weapons (no you don't find them) ammo, medi packs(they did away with automatic health recovery), and power nodes. You purchase your suit upgrades (which give you additional slots in your inventory, better armor, and a cool new look, for increased Air capacity and health you have to use nodes at the benches.). The great thing is you don't just get to buy new suit upgrades/ammo/weapons etc. Throughout the ship you find schematics that give you the "blueprints" for the new store items. You take these schematics to the store and it uploads into the store for purchase. Most enemies drop ammo, air cans, health, and credits (which is the money used). Though as in most games, as the game progress' less and less enemies drop usefull items. A little hint from what I've seen
don't wast money on air cans, just put the ones you get in the safe that's located in all the stores.
. As i just mentioned for those who didn't look at the hint, there are safes located in all the stores that are sort've like the chests in the Resident evil series. You put items in and they populate in all the other store's safes.

Sam woke up to the sound of the rain beating on his window. He'd skipped school today, he didn't feel well. Something wasn't right, something was eating at him, something wanted him to put his finger on the problem but he just couldn't. Always enjoying the rain, Sam decided to go for a walk, his mother wouldn't even know he was gone. She was drunk again, passed out at noon, father hadn't been around for 10 years. That wasn't the cause of mother's drinking, it was mother's drinking that caused father to leave. Sam strood down the main street in his small town; he couldn't belive what a dump it was. Crime, death, gang viloence, ran rampet. The cities police force had their hands in every dirt business. He couldn't wait till the city was destroyed, gone in a second by that force.....wait, where did that thought come from. Sam paused, put a finger to his lips and thought hard. A thought, rather it seemed more of a memory. A flaming river, a skeleton ferry man taking a sould across the river Styx. Sam stood at the bank, awaiting this new addition to his ever growing population of souls. Sam paused, the fear gripped him. He looked to the sky and saw something odd. It looked like a planet was coming down on him. He realized quickly what it was, a meteor was heading right for his town. At speeds only the cosmos could fathom, it struck the city, instantly everything was enveloped in a cloud of flame, dust, and a shockwave that toppled every building in site. Sam had closed his eyes when the meteor stuck, thinking it was over. Now he realized he was still alive, in fact he hadn't been injured. He almost feel over when he looked around, he could see the souls of the dead. The ones that led good lives were being allowed to pass on into the distant heavens. The others stood in front of Sam, some obviously pissed because they thought they lived good lives, the others looking at him with a look of fear. They knew who he was....in fact he knew who he was. Sam pointed to the ground, it immediateally opened up, and the souls departed. He looked to the sky, in the distance he could see Olympus, the mountain he had once called home. It seemed that something had awoken and his help was needed, Olympus called for the help of Arion, god of the underwold/Death.

Well I picked up my copy of Dead Space yesterday early afternoon and put about 4 hours on the game. I just finished the chapter in which
you use the giant cannon to destroy the asteroids
. When it comes to the scare factor:
I'm a little dissapointed, sure there are a couple moments that startle you, but I don't think it compares to RE 4 like it was claimed
. I really like the game, and would recommend it to anyone. The inventory system and suit upgrades are really well done. Plus I love the fact that
the amount of ammo is always scarce. Even if you buy extra ammo from the store, you're probably going to run out
. Dead space was given a 9/10, I'd have to disagree a little and give it a 8/10. But its def. something I'd recommend. Anyone else have this title yet? And what are your opinions on it?

"What a know-it-all" Okaru thought to himself after Hotaru's answer that was a word for word definition out of their text books. He wondered to himself if she'd have any idea how to defend against the Gentle Fist? He'd drifted off before he realized he wasn't paying attention to a word Raiga-sensei was saying. "Okaru" He was snapped out of his trance by his name being addressed. "Since you seemed so enthralled by Hotaru's citation of your text book. Why don't you tell me what it says about the Shinning Eye?" Okaru was stunned, Raiga-sensei was calling him out. Insulting his bloodline in front of the entire class full of competition for the title of Gennin. Okaru stood up at attention to give his answer. "I-I'm sorry I don't know Sensei, I apologize." He waited for Sensei to start blabbing about his bloodline, it was just like Raiga-Sensei. He always tried to get Okaru involved in the "group", but he didn't need the group. He was going to be the best, he didn't need help. "Sit down Okaru." Raiga-Sensei shook his head and looked to the class. "I know you're all anticipating the exams today. But the knowledge you learn in here is vital to your success, rather, your survival. The gennin exams are no joke, there have been young ones like yourselves killed. Its not uncommon for at least one person to lose their life every year, and this is where you learn the tools that will keep you alive. Okaru scanned the classroom, he couldn't count the number of times he'd done this. He was searching, searching for anyone who would give him competition this year. He looked to the guys first, Hagami Akoma and that damned Yotoro Matsuda. He'd watched the girls of the class ogle Akoma all year, he was the "pretty boy" of the class, but could back his talk up. Matsuda on the otherhand was different, he was going to be trouble. He then moved to the girls, of course there was Shijeru, which if her genjitsu was as good as her brains made it seem then she would be trouble. Okaru sat there, hoping and praying he could face those three this year, and set himself once and for all at the top of their class. Then, he could proudly accept his familie's blade "Scar". The same blade that gave him his. -
Name: Landon Ross Age:24 Appearance: 6'2 200 lbs. Sort jet black hair, cut in a marine issue high and tight. Profession: Farm Hand Bio: Landon's parents were drifters. They roamed from town to town finally taking up residence in Cuezo when Landon was just 2. Landon's father took up working as a farm hand, his mother worked for Debbie tending bar on weekends, that is until she dissapeared mysteriously when Landon was 10. His father, quit working and spent the next two years searching for his beloved, leaving Landon to take over. His father came home ranting about how he found Landon's mother, her body mutilated beyond belief. He kept saying, there was no way anyone could help. He purchased several large guns and disapeared just the same, so by age 13 Landon was alone. He enlisted in the Army at age 18, did 4 years and got out. He returned to Cuezo to pick up where his father left off, unfortunately there was only one farm that still needed help. The pay wasn't that great but Landon took the job, he wasn't sure why but he felt at hom in Cuezo. Maybe it was because the townspeople raised him, maybe it was because he liked the small town life, or maybe it was because he felt his father was on to something and one day he hoped to meet whatever took his parents face to face.

I'm all for the hair bands, well really just about any 80's music. I can't say I listen to it more than modern, but it was good none the less. I'm a big fan of NWA, Prince, Billy Idol, and all the other Pop/hip hop bands. But the best is the rock, Whitesnake, Poison, Twisted sister, Metallica, and all the others.

It was like a laser light show. Greg's father had taken him to one when he was a young boy. He remembered it vividly, colorful lasers making beautiful shapes in the sky, dancing all for his pleasure. Its what he saw now, beautiful lasers shooting across the sky. The only difference, is many of them ended in a small orange glow signaling the doom of a pilot. Greg delt with death many times before, but there was something about this particular brand that sent chills down his spine. He couldn't tell if they were chills of excitment, or chills of terror. It didn't matter, he was just about in range of his revamped rifle; it was his turn to add to the death. His first target was a tremor that seemed to be piloted by a rooki. "Dear god, they sent a bunch of rookie pilots out. I bet that changes real soon." This energy rifle was amazing, and combined with his MS's computer it was like shooting fish in a barrel. The targeting reticule turned green signaling the best possible shooting solution, Greg breathed, and squeezed the trigger. The tech back at the scavenger's base hadn't lied, the kick on this laser rifle was a lot more than he anticipated. He watched as the beautiful laser light left his rifle and traveled the great distance, striking his targed in the chest. He watched through the scope as the suit apparently lost power. He'd struck the power supply dead on, god he loved this rifle. He selected his next target, a heavily fitted MS, the same thing. This time however it was a head shot, the first shot rocked the suit, the second severed the head from the shoulders. He hated killing these rookies, but they were judges, and needed to be stopped. Greg saw in the distance, the battleship the judges were using. He then saw shinning lights coming from it. He quickly opened up the communications frequency and hailed the scavenger's MS'. "Brace yourselves, the enemy battleship just launched a barrage." "You're crazy, no one would fire on their own troops." Shouted a voice, Greg wasn't familiar with the pilot. As he said that, a rain of huge beams of light covered the battlefield. Greg watched as two of the scavenger's MS that were part of his team were hit, they instantly exploded. He also watched as half a dozen Judge suits and space fighter jets had been hit, and met with similiar fates. There was another set of lights coming from the battleship, this time they were different. Greg watched through his scope until they came into sight, they were 5 more judge tremors. He was sure these were the real deal, one in particular caught his eye. It was a little different then he remembered, it was fitted for space combat, but he was sure it was the same suit he battled with on earth. "Draco, sir, 5 additional bogies just left the battleship. I think they're the real deal sir." There were still several scattering rookies, Greg began picking them off. He could probably take out a couple more, but he turned his attention to the better trained group. He fired 6 quick shots as soon as he got the green. All six were dodged with ease. This was going to be a fight, Greg smiled. He didn't have anymore guns, once he dislodged the sniper rifle it was all up close. Greg pushed the sequence of buttons that put him into the VR room. The room quickly lit up and he was in the suits head. He drew out his whip, and dove headfirst into battle. A tremor popped out out nowhere as soon as he hit the battlefield, Greg dodged the fire from his head mounted machine guns, spun his suit snapped his whip around its neck and pulled. The interuption was over that quick, Greg turned just as the 5 got into sight range. The real battle was about to begin.

Mature Warning: Thread will contain violence, language, and I'm sure excessive drinking (I'm pointing fingers at someone) Keith was sprinting down the hallway, he was late. Real late, it was 10 minutes after the meeting was scheduled to start. "Damn that waitress, if she would've left the damn room earlier I could've left earlier. I can't complain too much though. He smiled as he thought of the previous nights activities. Keith turned the corner into the hallway the conference room was located in, he could see the commander round the hall just as he turned into the conference room. He dove into an open chair beside Ivan gasping for air. He could smell the booze on Ivan, which was a good thing. It meant that Ivan would be Ivan, Keith was able to handle the man when he had a few drinks, it was when Ivan was sober you had to watch out. The group stood at attention as the commander entered. She was the first commander since James Conner died, and she changed EVERYTHING. Keith liked it when James was in charge, he wasn't for all the formalities like the others were. As long as the job was getting done he was happy. Lt. Colonel Victoria Franklin was the complete oppisite, it didn't matter how well you did your job if you didn't give her the respect she thought she deserved she was all over you ass. "At ease guys," Of course as usual she waited as long as possible before saying that, "I know you all were expecting your final training mission. But it looks like we're going to have to cancel it." Keith thought they really were going to make a great team as they all groaned in unison at the thought of being forced to wait any longer. "We have receieved intelligence showing the machines have sent a small task force. Mostly made up of infantry drones, and a few heavier artillery drones. To intercept a transport we have of scrap metal, medicle supplies, and food on its way here. Your mission will be to escort the convoy here, this is it gentlemen. What you've been trained for, its currently 0930 hours, your mission begins at 1000 hours. I suggest you suit up, you'll be dropped into the zone by chopper. Borris you've got lead on this, don't screw it up." The room was called to attention again, once again they all stood while the commander made the painfully long exit. Damn keith hated her. After she stood up, Keith stood up and headed to the hangar to suit up. He couldn't deny, he was juiced about being involved in a real mission.

Well I had mentioned an on board computer in my post for my suits power to lock on. So I'm thinking things like enhanced vision (Maybe not anything as good as night vision, but the ability to see in lower light.), locking onto targets would be something for sure though.

The scarriest game I think I've ever played (I'm hoping when I go buy Dead Space today it'll blow this away) would have to be Metal Gear Solid 2. Does anyone remember what happens towards the end with the communicator? Yeah, if you don't know play it.
Just a note: this thread is a little ambiguous, as it's hard to define exactly what each person is going to take "Worst game ever".
That's the point of the "discussion". If everyone had the same idea as to what worst meant than we wouldn't have much of a thread. It's supposed to be vague, I could've made it worst strategy game, worst game for the xbox, etc. But that would exclude a lot of people. By being vague everyone whose ever played a crappy videogame can voice their opinions, and disagree with someone else if they choose.

It was like a dream. A very bad dream, Ryo saw everything through his own eyes. Heard the strange voice coming from his own mouth with his own ears, but yet it wasn't him. He couldn't control anything, what was worse is he knew why. His father...rather Ryo's father, had inprisoned this, this demon inside of him. "Eon, how long has it been? How long have I been trapped in this body?" Luthian asked through John. "It has been far to long my love." Eon approached him. John tried pulling away, he struggled, squirmed. Screamed, cried as she touched his face. He could feel it, though he still couldn't control anything. She slowly brought he mouth to his and kissed him deeply. He could feel her tongue exploring his mouth. It was sickening, he kept screaming pulling away. Finally she pulled away, and that damned voice flowed out of his mouth again. "It seems as though Ryo doesn't care for you my love. He's been kicking and screaming this whole time." The two shared a deep sadistic laugh. Ryo and Luthian followed Eon through the temple. John recognized it as the same temple Eon had taken him and Victoria too just a day before. They arrived at a room, it was one of the rooms that was an offshoot of the main hallway he and Victoria ahd ran through earlier. In the center of that room was a sarcophogi. It was the same one from the museum, apparently Eon had stolen it while her mummies were chasing the group through the museum. "Oh dear god no" John knew what was about to happen. "Wait a second, I can talk" John put his hands over his mouth. He had regained control over his body, and Eon was none the wiser. She was busy rambling on about their love and things they used to do. John couldn't help feel for her, she had lost someone, he was inside him. But he had a feeling he wouldn't enjoy the " Extraction" process to much. "Oh my love I cannot wait, let me go get the book and we'll get started." John wasn't sure what the book was, but he was glad Eon left. John turned to run away, but he couldn't. His body was sluggish, apparently Luthian wasn't ready to fully submit to John. He could've almost cried when Eon returned with a strange black book in her hands. "Let us begin." She placed the book on a table, the table also contained a bunch of devious looking instruments. John didn't like how things looked. He could feel his strength returning, but what good would that do? There was no way he could beat Eon by himself....but maybe he'd be able to trap her in some ice long enough to give him time to get back to the portal. The sarcophigus began to glow as she mumbled some words. John pointed his fingers and closed his eyes. Ice jetted from his fingers, freezing everything in the room in pure crystal. He turned and sprinted from the room, he didn't get but 20 ft when he heard the sound of shattering glass. Eon was free, and from the sounds of the scream he heard next she wasn't happn. John followed the same path he and Victoria took the last time they ran from there. He exploded in the room that Victoria opened the portal, he was sure he remembered the words that Victoria spoke. He reached the spot where the portal was and thought hard. "Azu, pheno, linin, strato!" A small blue orb appeared. "All right...huh?" John noticed something red strike the arch way above the portal. He didn't even get a chance to scream, the explosion rocked him. throwing him into the stairs behind him. He turned and looked, knowing what he'd see. Eon had blood trickling down her lip, she wiped it away with a grin. "Well well well, It appears you overcame Luthian quicker than I thought. I'm surprised you still managed to have some power." John needed time, time to think, to come up with a plan. Just then, he had a thought. In the story, Ryo's father was ice, and the demon he battled was fire. If Luthian was that demon, and he was inside. Then....oh it just had to be right. John closed his eyes, there it was. "Me and Luthian had a talk, it seems that he really likes the body he was given. And I really like the new power he gave me!" He threw his hands forward, a jet of flames hotter than anything he ever felt shot forward. Eon's eyes were wide as he'd ever seen someones apparently she didn't think about Luthian's power being fire based. He heard her scream as the flames lept upon her, John knew she wouldn't be dead. Only hurt a bit, John couldn't help but stand there to see. As the flames and smoke cleared Eon was on one knee. She rose to her feet, not a burn in sight, but could tell it ahd hurt her. She smiled, bit her lip again. She wiped the blood onto her hand, "Oh damn" John turned and lept towards the portal. Eon screamed as she swipped her wrist in Johns direction. He could feel the blood strike his foot as his fingers hit the portal. He could hear her scream, could feel the blood turn boiling hot and explode. He also felt the coolness of the portal as it enveloped him. John appeared just outside of victoria's house, where they appeared at the same time. He rolled onto his back, and watched as the portal started to fade. He closed his eyes and prayed the portal would close completly before Eon got to him. Closing his eyes proved to be a bad idea, the pain, and fear of the wounds he received quicly faded as the darkness took him and he past out.

Okay, I wanted to get the backstage up to address katakidoushi's questions. He pm'd me with some suggestions and I thought I'd put them up here and give my thoughts on them. EMP, Electro Magnetic Pulse (obviously). What if each suit had a sort of self destruct device? Whenever death was certain the wearer could give the suit a emergency access code: I like this idea, if a character wants to die during the RP thats completly your decision, and this is a good idea as a "last ditch effort". Since an EMP would shut the rest of our suits down, you'd want to make sure you communicated your action to the rest of the group so we could get a set number of yards away. (You had said something about 100yards.) You also asked about the "standard" abilities/equipment each suit possessed. The only thing that I had planed as standard was the double speed/double strength of a normal person, and of course the withstanding small arms fire. If you guys think I'm missing anything let me know.

Sign Up Iron men (women are invited as well)
Drizzt Do'urden replied to Drizzt Do'urden's topic in Theater
nice sign-ups, I'm going to get this up and running on Tuesday morning. The sign-ups will be open until then. Name: Keith "Wolf" Biggs Age: 23 Appearance: Keith Personality: Keith is very energetic. He is often looked down upon by the other members of the team because of his youth, and ability to never see the urgency in a situation. He tends to turn everything into a joke and not take much seriously. Suit Color: Keith's suit is a Dark silver, almost black. The helmet is silver on the sides, but the face is a midnight blue. The arms and legs are accented with blue. The chestplate and back piece are Silver with a single word written on the back "Wolf". Suit Power: Energy missiles: Keith's suit harnasses the arc generator's energy to the fullest. He has the capabilities to use massive amounts of this energy at any given time to create energy missiles. Using the suits system, he can draw massive amounts of energy from the reactor, and combining the energy with his on board computer he can lock on to targets. The computer takes the heat signature of the target, matches it and looses the missile. The drawbacks are he must remain perfectally still while using this power, if he takes any damage while using it his suit will become imobilized for over a minute, and he is limited to 5 missiles at a time and has to wait 30-40 minutes for the suit to recharge all missile. Suit Primary Weapon: Shockwave blasters; The blasters emit strong bursts of sound waves that are condensed into small streams. They can be adjusted via the suits computer, and can range from merley knocking an enemy back. To blowing him to pieces (however, it can be danergous adjusting it too high, and uses an emense amount of energy). Suit Secondary Weapon: Small missile Pod: A small missile conceiled in the left arm of the suit. When deployed it is launched over the target. Once it is over its target, it releases 6 grenade size explosives. Also a modified desert eagle with armor piercing rounds hiddien in a compartment in his leg. Bio: I'll have to finish this later on. Sorry I know that's lame -
Greg woke up from his nap, showered, dressed and made his way to the tavern. He found an open seat at a small table in the back of the room; it had a perfect view of the door so he wouldn't risk missing her when he walked in. He waited for what seemed like hours, but was probably only a couple minutes. There she was, long hair, jet black in color. He found himself slowly eyeing her, his eyes started at her legs which were bare up until the skirt she was wearing. He made his way up to her breasts, pausing for a moment. Then up to her face, where it turns out she was watching him the whole time "Damnit, I have got to work on this" Greg thought to himself. Once again kicking himself that he had been so stupid. She approahced his table, he stood up and pulled her chair out. She smiled at him with that killer smile she gave him outside of Draco's office. "I'm glad you could join me tonight." Greg felt awkward, this was the first date he'd ever been on. He'd spent his life training, fighting, never taking any time for himself before he met her. "Are you kidding? I needed an excuse to get out. I'm usually so busy working over for Mr. Alucard that I never take any time for myself." She smiled at him again, apparently Draco put a good word in for him. He'd have to ask sometime what exactally he said to the girl. Suddenly, what sounded like a mass explosion rocked the tavern. Greg looked out the window as a few MS's shot out of the hangars. Something was up, Greg had remembered the frequency the Scavengers used during their battle together. He grabbed his wrist communicator, dialed the frequency and started hailing Draco. "What the hell is going on?" Greg barked. "Judges are attacking one of our satelite facilities." Draco's voice rang through the Tavern. People were now staring at him, Greg tried muffling the communicator since some of those people probably had family there. "Why didn't you get in touch with me earlier? I'm on my way." "No don't bother, I finally get to see Jenna go out. That girl has been a blessing at work. Always staying late, its nice to see that she found someone she's interested in." Greg glanced around the room, these people were silently reaching out to him. Though they didn't know him, they knew he was on the inside. Knew that he could give them answers about what was going on, knew he could help. "Jenna, please understand. I can't let them go out their alone. I..." She put her finger to his lips, god she was perfect. "I'll still be here when you get back. Just make sure you make it back so we can continue our date. I have access to all the hangars, let me walk to you your suit. I'm curious to see what the suit that saved my friends life looks like anyways." She got up and grabbed Greg's hand. She brought the communicator to her lips and spoke to Draco. "Our dates over early sir, I have some things to take care of so Greg's on his way. Could you call back to the hangar and have them get his suit ready for space." "Jenna? You know just how to talk to me. Okay Greg, your suit will be ready. I'll patch the coordinates through to your suit. We'll be in the midst of things by the time you arrive." Greg and Jenna walked hand in hand to the hangar, jogging would be more accurate. As they walked in, Jenna turned to him and starred into his eyes. "There's something about you I like Greg, make sure you come back so I can find out what that is." She grabbed his head and pulled it to hers, kissing him deeply. It felt just like he thought it would, damn Judges. Greg piled up into his suit, one of the ground crew singnaled him. "Sir, we refitted your sniper rifle into an energy rifle. Its got a little more kick, but you'll need the extra power for space combat. That's all we had time for, so everything else is as was. You're cleared for take off immediately." Greg punched in the coordinates Draco sent him, he couldn't deny he was nervous. He'd never fought in space before, but nerves were nothing to him. He'd been nervous before. The suit took off like a rocket, he had all the suits energy to the thrusters. He wouldn't be able to catch up, but the energy sniper rifle had a range of 5 miles. It was a great distance, but in space nothing affected your shot. He didn't miss with gravity and wind affecting the trajectory of bullets. There was no way in hell he'd miss with clean shots. He glanced back as the base grew smaller. He wondered if he'd make it back to see Jenna again.

Not sure how your writing was before, but I thought that was really good. I've never read storytelling done in quite that manner. I wish I had some criticisms to offer, but my writing is pretty low calibur (check out my story Jackson McGee and you'll see that). So I can't offer anything I think would help besides I like it.

I figured I'd throw my two cents in here. The problem I have with the Jonas Brothers is they set an unattainable standard of beauty that most guys can't hope to.....oh dear that just about went horribly wrong. I don't think they're the greatest in the world, but they're a decent band. The fact that they're another disney creation kind've sucks though. It seems like now a days that if you're on the disney chanel you're going to become a famous singer... Well I guess it's always been that way now that I think about it. Britney Spears, Justin Timerlake, Christina Agu....can't remember how to spell that and I'm too lazy to look it up. Well with that news out, hoozah to JB.
future with an open mind and hope and expectation that we are in control of our own fate, and we should do what we can to preserve this world for the generations to come? That is much more noble and positive.
Now you're changing the thread into a debate over religion. I'll participate until we're forced to get back on the subject at hand. In your Opinion it may be more noble and positive. But really think about what you're saing, you're trying to force an opinion as fact. No it's not more noble, and just because you feel that you are in control of your own fate doesn't help keep an open mind. That can be spun right back around at you saying that people who don't believe that there is an end and they will have to answer for their sins are the ones who perpetuate "evil" in the world. They're the ones who strive to control/destroy. They're the ones whose lives are ran by greed, lust, thinking once they're gone they're gone makes them step on anyone who gets in the way. So while YOU man feel that everyone should feel the way you do, you can't honestly say that its the right way to think for everyone.

RPG Knights: Fall of Camelot (M [V, L, SC,])
Drizzt Do'urden replied to Drizzt Do'urden's topic in Theater
Abel couldn't speak. On one hand he felt betrayed, on the other he knew and understood the reason she did it. She would probably never have been allowed to be a part of the group if anyone had known. He motioned to the table in his room, and for her to sit down. He had so many questions that needed answers. "Abel, please don't be mad you have to under..." Abel put his hand up cutting her off mid-sentence. "Quit saying you're sorry. You don't have to be, and I'm not mad. Just a little mixed up." He could see in her eyes she was holding back, she was scared but just like the scar you never saw in battle. You would never have known it. "I understand why you had to, and now the whole wearing your armor all the time thing makes sense." He chuckled to himself as he thought about the ruslting around he heard when he went to her room earlier. It must've been her scambling to put her armor on. Suddenly there was knock on the door. "Abel, hey I need to talk to you, you up?" it was Sven. The knob started to turn and the door squeeked as he entered. "Damn, what do we tell hm?" The nerves were evident in her voice this time, she wasn't ready for everyone to find out just yet, and he wasn't about to ask her to reveal it to the others before she was ready. "Just stay there, this is going to be fun." Sven entered the room and starred at Scar with wide eyes. "Sorry, I didn't realize you had...."company" Abel. I just wanted to talk to you about a few things, I'll just see you in the morning" Sven quickly turned around and shut the door behind him. Abel looked at Scar, as their eyes met they both began to laugh. He couldn't help stare as she laughed. A female knight, the notion had come up in meetings, and Abel and Grum always laughed as they thought of big burly woman. But Scar, she was beautiful. He couldn't take his eyes off her, and then he began to feel awkward starring as he did. "I should probably go though, we have a long day ahead." Scar got up from her seat and headed towards the door. "Scar wait" Abel stood and looked into her eyes. "You don't have to leave so soon." She blushed, Abel wondered if he should've spoke up like that, he was afraid he'd just make her angry. So he just stood their, waiting on her response. -

I've been following a series of books written by Dean Koontz that stars a character, Odd Thomas. Basically Odd, whose parents swear they meant to name him Todd, sees ghosts and the books center around him saving a mass group of people with the help of this ability. Now I've read 4 books in the series, Odd Thomas, Forever Odd, Brother Odd, Odd Hours I was checking out Amazon to see if the next addition to the series had come out yet, I couldn't remember the date set to release. I found a new book , or so I thought, called In Odd we Trust. I began reading the info on Amazon about it, and didn't realize it was a manga, sorry I'm sure I'll be blasted for not knowing who Queenie Chan is at the time. My question is, has anyone read this Manga, and secondally is Queenie Chan's work worth checking out?
