Has anybody read Yakitate! Japan here at the OB? I hope so, because if not, you're missing out on a hysterical manga about the world of bread making. If you haven't read it yet, it's basically about a boy named Azuma Kazuma and his dream of being the greatest bread maker in the world using his own line of bread inventions in what he calls Ja-Pan (Pan meaning "bread" in Japanese). He enters a tournament sponsored by the famous bread-company, Pantasia, in hopes of battling the greatest bread-artisans and climbing the ladder in order to make his Ja-pan well known across the world. This manga is so amazing, you'd think it was just a heart-warming story about a boy and his dreams, but it's so much more chaotic and dramatic than that. Also, you learn many things about bread-making, some techniques, science and it even teaches you how to make the bread that some of the characters use! Every time I read the latest chapter of Yakitake! Japan, it always astounds me at how the characters come up with such amazing recipes and techniques that make me see bread in a whole new fashion. I, too, have made all kinds of bread since reading this. I've made Melon Bread, which is simply amazing and made myself confident in the cooking area. I always want to bake a new bread and convince myself that I can also put my mind to anything. Yakitate! Japan, in general, is a great manga that teaches you to overcome your hurdles and says that things aren't always easy, but you should always look forward to your dream. Anybody else have any feelings? Bread-making they want to share? Pictures of the bread? Things they learned? Please discuss it here. Also, I'm a freak for bread now. Before I even read the manga, I've always loved bread. But now, I'm a bread freak. And want to be a baker, lol. [/rant]

I, personally, thought this movie was hysterical. Every time Sweeney would always cut somebody's throat open and all that fake blood would gush out, I laughed so loud, lol. The songs were really amazing; all the actors that sang were really good. It was also a nice touch of mixing dark/violent themes along with singing and some happy scenes in the movie. Very creepy and psychotic, but strangely refreshing. I thought the end was pretty sad but amazing as well. Who knew someones throat could bleed that much?

The OtakuBoards Nifty Fifty of 2007 (Final)
Riku replied to Horendithas's topic in General Discussion
Congrats to everyone who made it in the Fifty this year~! ...One would wonder how my life-long goal in being mentioned in the Nifty Fifty could ever happen. [/insert slap here] -
Hey there. :] I really want to take this request since no one has entered anything yet, but would you mind if I used other pictures of Allen instead? If not, I'll use the second one. Just wanted to make sure before I did anything.

Damn, Mike. I wish I got into this when it first started. It's amazing how well you write and it never gets tiring. I can't wait to see what happens next. This is so kick ass, lololol.

So, I'm kind of wondering when are we going to actually start this thing, haha. I mean, I know Gavin must be busy, but I've been waiting for SBC to start for sooo long now.

Strange nicknames given and received and how did you get them
Riku replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
Well, a lot of you all here on the OB know what my name is, but I have a couple of weird nicknames. Ti-Tonka is one. It all started out in English class in my Sophmore year of High School, where we were reading this story about some Indian with a weird name that sounded like my real one. And then, you know, my friends thought it was so cool to mix that up and then give me this nickname, Ti-Tonka. I've moved once since then, but I remember everyone in that school calling me by that name and not even my real one anymore. Even when I talk to some of my old friends now, they still call me that, haha. I have some other ones, like The Big T or one of my Japanese friends calls me Loli or Lolita. I think it's so cute when he calls me that, but for some reason, it also makes me very angry... -
To be brutally honest, when I get older, I don't want to have to do anything with the military. I'm not saying that I don't respect/support our soldiers in the war or anybody that's in the military at all. My dad's in the Air Force, so that automatically makes me an Air Force brat. What I really don't want to go through with is actually working in the military at all. Sure, for different people, different things work out for them. I just know that I'm not cut for all the rules, strictness of people above you, moving around, doing something I don't really want to do, etc. I mean, people who have relationships with military soldiers already know how hard it is because of the fact that they have to move around and not being able to see them for long periods of time. I've just lived with military for some years now and I just don't want to be involved more than what I have to be, that's all.

I know jiggly will make an AWESOME set compared to mine, but I just thought I should put in my two sense so a lot of my banners won't fade away, haha. They're basically all the same, but with different color choices, so meh. It might be too girly for you, Mike, but I just wanted to give my choices. c:

HAY GUYS, I LUV MY GIRLY PINK BANNER/AVI SET~! ...oh wait, you all have it too. D: Lol anyway, Gavin, I'm so excited and can't wait as well. But, just to let you know, I'm in college right now and I only have a hand-full of time because I'm on break. By next week, I won't have much anymore. I hope that's okay as long as I post; I know you love me. c:

Name: Inoue Miku Age: 18 Gender: Female Appearance: Here. (Except her hair isn't in pig-tails, but let down and a little bit past her shoulders with layers.) Attire: Here. (Her outfit is a light cerulean blue while her belt and scarf are a dark purple.) Height: 5'7 Kunoichi Skills: Genjutsu and Summoning Jutsu Personality: Inoue likes to look at the world in a perfect form, not seeing the flaws around herself or her friends. Some people call it sheer innocence or idiotic, but it's just the way she likes to see things through her eyes. Smiling and laughing at every little thing, Inoue sometimes wonders herself why people are sometimes negative when everything is so alive and pure. Nobody really knows this, but because of something that happened in her youth, it might've been the reason why she acts this way; though no one knows for sure. Inoue is a very fast-paced learner and likes to learn new techniques which follow her kunoichi skills. She's mostly calm, because of her innocent emotions, so meeting new people becomes very easy for her. Inoue hardly ever gets angry, but when she does, her strength heightens as she looses liability to think straight. Weapons: A few Kunai in a holster around her right thigh, together with a short sword hung behind her back. She hardly ever uses these because of her kunoichi techniques, but if she does, she's learned how to use them if necessary. * * * "Ryu no Jutsu!" A large, silver dragon emitted from Inoue's folded hands, lurching forward towards her opponent upon the other end; it's jaws and teeth readied for action. "Very good, Miku!" A clap echoed through her ears, allowing her to suddenly stop her dragon illusion just in the nick of time before it actually attacked the other. She smiled and winked, then quickly running towards the brown-haired teen boy on the other end. Stopping a little before him, she bent forward to place her hands upon her thighs breathing hard, almost forgetting about the training she had just endured. "You know, Kyouya," she tried to speak between her breaths, "...you really suck." The boy gave an awkward smile as he placed his hands on his hips and chuckled manly-like. "Hey, it's not my fault you have to fight for the 54th place in the C division." Kyouya stared at her for awhile, then knelt over to adjust himself to her bent position. "Besides," he continued, "if you didn't practice, your genjutsu summoning skills would go rusty without me here." Miku looked up at his smiling face, pouting because of the fact he was being cocky. + + + OOC: Sorry, I'm dying from college work. Will definitely finish soon, I promise.

I haven't been really playing anything as of late because college comes first I guess, but I was playing Shadow of the Colossus and Assassin's Creed. Both are absolutely amazing games with great story lines, characters and plots. Only thing is, the endings for both of them really suck leaving you hanging-wise. Like Shadow of the Colossus,
the hero turns into a demon in the end in order for the girl to come back to life.
And in Assassin's Creed, it turns out that
the bad guys you were fighting were the ones that captured you and gained the information that they needed.
In any case, they really are great games and I wouldn't hesitate to ever play them again. I like being a girl because I can do and say whatever I like and it won't be held against me. :3

You know, not all young kids have the same vast imaginations as some probably think they do. I might be wrong and all, but I believe most kids want something that's imaginative to come true with even knowing that it possibly can't. And say what if the parents did teach their child that Naruto wasn't real? It may or may not have made any difference on this outcome. Either way, I really don't think it's anyone's fault as some have said already. I think it probably wouldn't have mattered if the parents were involved. The child just had a huge imagination, just like a lot of other kids do. He just wanted to see if he could manipulate sand like Gaara as well, not thinking it was fake or not. Anyway, it's all very sad. I mean, no one can be a sand master like Gaara. Please. (Okay, sorry... that really wasn't necessary. :( )

I wish for a boyfriend that won't ever lie to me this Christmas. :3 Haha, just kidding... kind of. I actually don't really want that many things this Christmas, just a few or so hereand there. - Hot Gimmick - Maison Ikkoku - Bleach - Some clothes I already picked out - Fruits Basket - Graphic Design Artists books And that's about it. I used to be all about games and ****, but now it's like I need other things, haha. I guess that's what growing-up is all about?
If you like I can update the worm with it or we can leave the current piece be, your choice.
You know what, Des, that would be fantastic if you could update the worm with my piece that you fixed. Thank you so much for being bored, lol, because honestly, I was hoping someone would do it. ^^ I don't see any major changes in the piece except for the sun, which is totally amazing and I love you, so I would love it if you would change it to the one you fixed. I would feel much less of a retard, anyway. :p And btw, I totally forgot how much fun this graphic worm is. I can't wait to add in another piece again.
So I explain it here about The Last Remnant. Hope that it will come out soon without any delay:animeswea
Seems like you know a lot about it, lol. :smirk: Anyway, I too, hope it comes soon without any delay or anything. It looks very interesting, much darker and more blood/gore than any FF game has ever given before. Maybe like Drakengard? Who knows, but I seem to believe that was the only bloody/gory/darker/violent game that Square Enix has ever released? I don't know, anyone can correct me if I'm wrong here.
Does it work for the slim version?
I'm sure it would, seeing as how the only difference is is that it's slimmer and smaller. ...Actually, that would mean smaller cables too, wouldn't it? I have the regular one, so I wouldn't know. I believe they are the same size, I think.

Hey, don't blame the dog just because the wire was laying there in his reach and he was damn bored. It's not his fault the PS2 wires looked like his next chew toy and he wanted to play with them. Give pets a little more sympathy, honestly. Sheesh. :animesigh Anyway, I agree, don't try to fix the wire yourself unless you absolutely understand what you're doing. If you do it without thinking, you could damage it even more when it could easily be replaced. I just say either go somewhere to get it fixed or just go to your nearest Wal-Mart or whatever and buy another cable. There should probably be power cables in separate packages sold by Sony or another company, since they probably think things like this would happen. And if that doesn't work, I suggest going with Retri's opinion as well. AND NO HARMING THE DOG. D
Another game that've caught my interest is The Last Remnant. Another title done by Square-Enix which is a turn based strategy? game. And I'm not even into these strategical games. I'm not amped about it but the way they have the gameplay setup, and the way they shift around the whole field looks like you're in some sort of epic cg movie. Last 4 games that I've been anticipating are rpgs.... Guess I can't say I don't like rpg's anymore lol.
RPGs do kind of get to the point where you have to get used to it to like it. My first video game I ever played was Legend of Dragoon, which was an RP, so it opened my eyes. I guess you could say I'm sort of biased because of the fact I absolutely love RPGs. And for a fact, Tombstone, I too am interested in the arrival of Last Remnant. Sure, it looks like another spin-off of FF, but it just looks a little more gory and a lot more darker than what the usual FF game lacks. @ Revolver: I knew that, I was just kidding, lol. Though, everyone here on the OB already knows that I'm the hopeless groupie that knows nothing but KH. @ Inuyasha7271: Sorry, his mistake. I thought it was for KH III as well, but hey, not everyone knows every single thing that happens in the gaming industry and that includes you. He didn't know, so he was just stating what he thought would happen. And btw, isn't the game spelled Disgaea? Not trying to rub it in, I'm just a nitpicker when it comes to grammar and spelling. :animesigh
I mean, KH is just soooo epic I can't get enough. I almost cried because the game ended. It was so amazing and it was a rush. The game itself could make you cry because it was so beautiful. But number 3 will... be... EPIC!
And I thought I was the only groupie out there for the KH series? Who knew?! :smirk::smirk::smirk:

Name: Ery K. Nightwind (Pronounced Air-y) Age: 20 Gender: Male Appearance: Ery (c) Nekoshoujo Armor: Here. Occupation: Knight Why did the Castle choose you?: The calm, supportive and helpful knight known throughout his town, Ery has always been a supporter of the word Justice. He has protected the villagers and the royal family ever since he first wielded a sword and became a knight. No matter what the problem or situation, Ery'spersonality allows him to protect first before running away. Though one day, as he was riding on the back of his white horse, a fierce wind blew along-side him, causing Ery to fall off the back of his horse. It was suddenly pitch-black, nothing seen for miles or sound heard from the distance of his ear. "If you want to know the true status of your heart," a mysterious voice suddenly shook his attention, causing him to look around for the source. "Follow the path of the old stone building with numerous amount of levels," the voice suddenly continued, "for there, you will find what courage your heart lacks and what strength your heart has." After the mysterious voice finished its complicated riddle, light seeped through the silent darkness. Blinking his eyes and sitting up from the ground, Ery looked around to see any trace of the weird dream he just had. Finding nothing, his white steed nudged him with its wet noise, telling its master to look in the eastward direction. Finally turning his head in the direction his horse was nudging him towards, Ery saw a old antique castle standing tall between the emerald-green meadow. His mouth widened a little and his eyes in a blank stare, he remembered what the voice had told him. A truthful grin slipped through his lips, then allowing him to jump on the back of his horse and tighten his grip on the reigns. If the voice was right, then the ever-lasting question in his heard would be answered when he entered the castle of unknown wonder. Is he really a hero everyone could look up to? Or just a fraud wanting to really be one? OOC: Oh snap, all done. I decided to change his name and appearance because I'm the author, so I can. ;D

Seeing that celebrities and use-to-be icons such as Lindsey Lohan and Britney Spears go to rehab over and over, sinking to a new low is the norm ever single ****ing day. That makes me feel old, not like they were my icons or anything.

I did use to have an Xbox 360, but after a long story, I don't have one anymore. It's okay though, seeing as how I have a PS2/PS3, I'm already content with what games I have. Being an RPG/Fighting/Action and Adventure type of girl, and seeing as how the amount of games I have limited to what I like, I sot of have a very hard-to-please kind of personality. Anyway, I'm mostly waiting for Final Fantasy XIII to come out, seeing as how it's probably a break through in the FF series. It'll probably take awhile to get here, but I'm guessing it will be well worth the wait. I'm also waiting for FF VII: Crisis Core and even the FF VII remake. Crisis Core looks kick-***, the only thing is I have to buy a PSP to play it. Also, there has been rumors that the VII remake might/might not make it to reality, so... I'm just going to wait it out and see whether they do/don't do it. No matter what you all have heard/seen/said, until I get information from a reliable source, I'm not believing any one of you. Sorry, lol. :smirk: Btw, just so you all know, I'm desperately waiting for all the new Kingdom Hearts games to come out. Desperately. Like Square Enix is sucking the very bile and organs out of VII's plot, so comes the future for KH aswell.:o
