1. Mine are (no particular order): Kino no Tabi. It's one of the more "interesting" anime that I have watched. It's not overly depressing or really sugary. It has the right mood for me to enjoy. Also, Kino is really cool. Ouran High School Host Club The characters are the best. I would like all of them (except Hani-senpai) to end up with Haruhi. Tamaki is hilarious. ^_^ And the seiyuu are all excellent. And there is a *girl* otaku in it. Not an perverted guy otaku, but a girl (who *can* be likeable. to some, anyway). The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Of course. The characters are the type that you see a lot, but they aren't carbon copies. And Yuki is cool, especially in Episode 10. I was entranced from beginning to end (although I did watch it in chronological order). The Day of Sagitarus was hilarious. Azumanga Daioh Of course, I had to put this. All the characters are actually people that you could know, and are realistic. They aren't overly angsty or sugary (or moe). And then there are Tomo and Yukari-sensei, the 2 most hilarious characters I have ever encountered in any anime (except for maybe Tamaki). XD Osaka is good as well, she's interesting, for lack of a better word. And Chiyo isn't super sugary like lots of 10 year old in anime are portrayed, but she is believeably her age (although a lot more responsible). And her seiyuu is quite good, although too high. Do 10 year olds really sound like that in Japan? Bleach The characters. There are a lot so when I saw the Wikipedia article, I was really overwhelmed. ^^;; But they are all really interesting. My favourite captain would probably be Byakuya (he is so cool!!!! *fangirl squeal*) I am also amazed at the depth. I didn't like the filler that much though. But the Arrancar arc started already, and I'm watching with interest, even though I read the manga. By the way, I liked Fruits Basket as well, but it mainly concentrated on introducing characters (Hiro is only in 1 episode!!!) and so it didn't make it on. The manga is one of my top 5 favourite manga though! ^_^ Gotta love the characters.
2.

Upon reading 266, it probably isnt Kaien anymore but ..what madballs in a testube, they even got tattoos.

Yeah I know, saw a picture on wikipedia. I was like, "What the hell?!?!?!"
3. Furits Basket used to be online on Spectrum Nexus, but the guy took it down (because Tokyopop asked him to). Ah well... And now furuba is finished in Japan...I downloaded the last chapter in raw format. ^_^ I can pick out a few phrases but its still really hard, because the japanese characters are bluured so I can't sound it out. I hate kanji...
4. I'm an anime fan. This is a forum for anime fans. The people here (well lots of them) are not your average "watch anime on tv and thats it" crowd but your "hardcore fansub watchers" crowd. That's why I like it here (I'm one of those people...^_^;;) The people here have interesting opinions and its fun to read those opinions and see a topic in a different way.
5. I am a really big Miyazaki fan. I have seen all his movies, except Future Boy Conan, Castle of Cagliostro, and Porco Russo. Withought My Neighbour Totoro, I would not know what the word "otaku" meant at all. My favourite movies of his are Spirited Away, Castle in the Sky and Nausicaa (other than Totoro) I really like the No-face from spirited away and the Catbus from Totoro.
6. My screen name here is from Chobits, part of the lyrics from the 2nd ending. Animelyrics.com said the song went, "zutto sagashitteru sotto hikaru AOI HOKARI" but I listened to the song again and found that is was actually "haomi hikari"...which is harmonious light (I think) instead of "blue light", which is what aoi hiikari means. And, no, I dont watch Chobits (I'm not allowed to watch the anime and read the manga!!:animecry:) I just like Rie Tanaka's work in general. But I do like Chii ^^
7. I think I look a lot like Suzumiya Haruhi (only I wear glasses) and Kagura Sohma (Fruits Basket). I cut my hair recently.....before, it was as long as Kagome's hair... In terms of personality, I think I am a lot like Fujioka Haruhi (Ouran High School Host Club), only I'm nowhere near as blunt. ^^ Although I can be, if I want to.
8. Why I love anime? Better music, better characterization, better animation (compared to american cartoons), better voicework, better plot, better everything! I love anime because it is unique and of better quality! ^^ Also, most anime can be enjoyed by just about anyone. So it's fun to watch with friends. I've also been attracted to Japanese anime style in general ever since I was a little kid, because it looked really good. It was only a matter of time before I became a huge anime fan.
9. This doesn't really apply to me, but it applies to some friends of mine. They watched the english dub of InuYasha (as an example) and they prefer it over the Japanese dub ( But this might be because they dont really care about the whole "watching anime in the form it was originally intended to be viewed in" thing, and prefer watching in English) For me, even if I do watch the dub of an anime, I almost always prefer the sub.
10. Subtitles. Without a doubt. I have never seen a dub that is better than a sub. I generally like Viz's dubs quite a bit. Like InuYasha, Naruto (yes, I was quite pleased with the Naruto dub), etc. But still not as much as the original. One of the main reasons that I don't like dubs is that they pronounce some of the characters' names wrong. ex. 1 Wakouji-sensei (Full Moon wo Sagashite). In the dub, they pronounce his name "Wa-ka-o-ji" in 2 syllables, seperated instead of "Wa-kao-ji", unseperated. This irritates me to no end. ex. 2. Ritsu (Fruits Basket) They pronounce "Ree-tsu" as "Rit-tsu'". Also, in Gundam SEED, Lacus's singing is a LOT better int he sub. I watched the dub first, and thought it was ok, but I listened to the sub later, and thought it was a lot better.
11. I just pour boiled water on it and eat it (I don't really care if it's too hard or not) I've never heard of straining ramen though. My favourite flavor is l chicken flavour. :animesmil I would add stuff to my ramen, but I'm really lazy. By the way, I've never seen non instant ramen before.
12.
In case anyone misses it, I'd like to point out that "Asia" is actually a continent with a number of island peripheries. I pity individuals whose idea of "Asia" is limited to Japan and China.
Thanks for pointing that out! ^_^ I'm half asian too, after all. I can understand why she's sick of the obsessed China/Japanatics, sort of. I've been interested in Chinese/ Japanese culture and language for a while because I thought it was interesting. But I've never seen any examples of this that often online. Besides, what's with the "pimple-faced White boys" comment?? There are girls out there that are interested in this. I mean, not all otaku are guys, you know!! Anyway, there's nothing wrong with people who like manga, anime, acapuncture, karaoke, do all the things she mentioned, (except scaling the dorm wall thing).
13. 1. I don't think so. But I love music a lot. ^^ 2. Yes! 3. Clairinet, some ukelele, recorder. 4. I played last year, but I'm not sure if I'll get band this year (I put it as my first elective though :D) 5. No.... I learned recorder and ukelele in school. Does that count? I've probably forgotten all the ukelele chords though.
14. I didn't actually see this on the news, just a special on terrorism on primetime. I also heard, that at some airports (in addition to making them give you all your drinks and bottles and stuff, with additonal baggage checks), they have you take off your shoes so that they can check for bombs hidden in them, because this one guy actually put a bomb in his shoe (O.O) At least from this, we got wiser in how to prevent bombs from being taken on to planes, and no one was hurt.
15.
who could possible hate the anime naruto well except anime haters and if i may add i have ran into some people who call anime lovers "gay"
Well, most people just call my favourite anime gay... Anyways, I love naruto. I think Sasuke's the coolest (poll was closed when I decided to post) 'cause he's hot! ^^ Haven't watched that many fansubs of the Naruto to know that much about the Naruto filler...I'm just reading the manga, and trying to read the later chapters. I'm really behind ... :animeswea
16. Saw the trailer. It looks really good! I've heard good things about the books, so I'm going to start reading. I'm trying to find A Wizard From Earthsea, the first book, I accidentally took out Tales From Earthsea from the library....because that was the title of the movie... :animeswea
17.
I'm loving the new power-ups (but what does the
blue shell
even do?). The graphics are fantastic, and it all fits together nicely on my DS Lite. :) I have a question, though. Besides opening new paths to mushroom houses, is there any other reason to get the star coins?
Got this a while ago. I really love this game. the new worlds look fantastic! ^^ The ability to shrink and get bigger is really fun to use! ^____^
if you hold the b button, you can hide in your blue shell and it provides protection. you can also move around in the shell if you hold b (I believe) and navigate using the control pad
with the star coins, you can unlock new levels on the map, im pretty sure. If I'm wrong, please feel free to correct me! Hope that answers your questions, white!
18.
2. Who you favorite character? 3. who you favorite couple?
Just started watching about a week ago. I love this series so much! 2. Tie between Tamaki and Kyoya. Tamaki is hilarious, like when he's disappointed and angry (at the twins) and such. And he thinks abouth weird, random stuff. Kyoya, because he can handle Tamaki withought getting mad or sweatdropping (that's an acomplishment! lol) And he's funny when he's angry too. "The Low Blood Pressure Demon Lord" XD 3. Tamaki x Haruhi! They are so cute together! ^^
19. Manga! It's a lot cheaper, and you can go to parts you like a lot easier than rewinding on your DVD player. Also, The cover and some chapter title pages are in colour. I don't really need much. As long as my manga is interesting and has a good story and good art, I'll be happy. ^^
20. Well, I've read up to Vo. 19 and chapter 130 in summaries...FB was actually the first manga that I started collecting...I have all the books that have come out as of yet, except for Vol. 1, 3 and 14 (it should be out sometime this montht, I think) The music in the anime is good too. Fruits Basket: Memory For You is a really good CD ^^ But I honestly prefer the manga because it's longer, more great characters and absolutely brilliant plot twists! (Chapters 98 and 99......still can't believe it) http://www.shadow.randomfandom.com/fb/summary/ch131.htm is a good summary site for the later chapters. I cannot stress how wonderful Furuba is. This series is funny, serious and thought provoking. This series, in both manga and anime forms is really worth your time and money, and can appeal to both guys and girls! Do yourself a favor and buy it!!!!!!
21. When I was in Grade 5, someone thought I was in high school (when they saw me) because I was so tall. I was around 165 cm at that time, not sure how much that is in inches... Now, I am 13 and 5'9...if I looked ar myself, I'd think I was around 14-16 years old...
22. When I'm not on otaku, I'm usually reading various fantasy novels. I just got Tales From Earthsea at the library today.I also play clairinet in band, so I practice that... and draw random stuff. Lately I play Brain Age a lot, I'm always playing sudoku on my DS. Other games I play a lot are Trauma Centre: Under The Knife, New Super Mario Brothers, Mario Kart DS, Yoshi Touch 'n Go and AC:WW. I usually listen to J-Pop and other random CD's I have when I play my DS. When I'm not doing the things mentioned above, I am on fanfiction.net, reading fanfics. Soccer will be starting up where I live, so I'll be playing that and going to practices. But for the most part, I'm on the internet....Such is my life outside of otaku when I'm not doing anime realated stuff...
23.
Noein !!! all that quantum physics talk.... have to pause and take it all in before moving on....
I watch Noein too. Because I didn't wnderstand the quantum physics stuff, I looked it up. When I did, I thought, "How is anyone supposed to understand this stuff??? It makes no sense whatsoeverl!!!!" This is partly because I haven't studied physics yet... Yeah, 1 more anime that made me think: Gundam SEED: Which side on the war do you really agree with? I mean, the Naturals are fighting because they feel threatened by the Coordinators and they don't like the fact that coordinators are superior in a lot of ways (of, course, this is the naturals fault for meddling with DNA...) Zaft is fighting the war because the naturals are trying to exterminate them and they have to retaliate, right? Both sides have their pros and cons, and it's an odd topic to debate about inside your head (actually, I do this)
24. I'd love to live in a Cardcaptor Sakura world! Flying with wings and stuff...*stares off into the distance* And Kero-chan is really cute. But things that look like stuffed animals that can talk is kinda weird... xxxHOLiC world would be so cool too! A shop that can grant your wishes! Although the spirits are scary sometimes...I wouldn't want to see those. And Mokona is cute. Yay for the black pork bun! lol Living in Suzumiya Haruhi would be great, because it's not really in an alternate universe and life wouldn't be that action-packed. Although I wouldn't want to be Mikuru...poor Mikuru-chan! It would be cool to be in the SOS Brigade... but then, I wouldn't want to be in Episode 1, 10, or 14. Excitement is good though, but not too much! But being in: Gatekeepers, InuYasha, Witch Hunter Robin, FMA and Naruto would be really dangerous! And I can't really fight that well.... I guess the real world is better. But I still want to fly with wings!
25. hmmmm...what I want? Lots of books...I have almost no new reading material, so I get bored. I also want fluency in Japanese... :animeswea What else...?Lots of J-pop CDs and to have my family live closer to me so that I can visit them more often :). My family lives so far away from my other relatives. Last thing I would like is a new computer, mine is really old....
