Ska

For the not so musically inclined or for lack thereof kind, what's exactly your definition of Ska? You know, I have a clue as to what Ska is, but I want to hear what your definition of it is. No Doubt is pretty much the only band I can say, lol. I'm not really into Ska, but it's fine when I'm in the mood.
  2. Well, it's nothing extravagently special, but it is good. It's really simple, very simple. Some of the lines could be shortened and better illustrated to form a more concise, neat form. But I have trouble simplifying phrases all of the time, too. Eh. ... Silence [strike]I[/strike] Resting alone [strike]with silence[/strike] silent [strike]With silence as my friend[/strike] This my friend [strike]A[/strike] The Palpable listener [strike]Who's[/strike] Patient until [strike]the[/strike] end As you can tell, this poem can be much more powerful than it is. I've taken the warrant to do the first stanza. See what I came up with? I got rid of words that aren't needed, and added some more to make up for the inbalance the deletion of the words makes. It's not the best it could end up being, but I don't have much time. It's a good first prowl, Charles.

    Love

I don't think it's right for someone to claim they know what love is. Although I've never been in love, and I really don't have the right stance to say so, that is what I think. Because today the word love means so many things. It can mean you like something; it can mean what it means; and it is just used in so many different ways. People use it so freely, and I don't think that's exactly right. To me it is somewhat of a powerful word if used in the right occurances. No one really really knows what love is. It's a feeling, or somewhere around there, that I've never even had. And how do you know love if you can't really truly even know what it is in the first place, since it's not something you can learn. It just happens. Another point: how do you even know if you're actually in love, or if it's something else? I'm sure some of you'll say you have this special "feeling" for that person, that it's like you were meant for eachother. Maybe it is so, but maybe what it all comes down to is purely habitual and intuitional behaviors. All mammals such as ourselves are meant to reproduce in order to further our chain in life. Could not love just be an instinctal thing? I don't know; and no one knows. Once I do know, I'll get back to you, though. All I know is there probably is something called love, but that's about all. Don't be offended if my stance up above bothers you, it's just my way of thinking.

Well, due to the coercion of your grip, Sara, I have decided to change my rating of this particular anomaly of Piro's hands. $103434334322232.1000.%/#53423232312121212121.65653433232323232-+* Heh. Reminds me of the thread. Hehe. Yeah, anyways, Piro, I really do love that. I stared at it for about ten minutes when I was in my Desktop Publishing class. I was bored, warranted, but still, I love it. All of your works are good, though. Now, if your ego is the size of Texas, or Canada for that matter, I'm on my way.

    Abduction

So what, then, is that an alien in the background? I'm not exactly sure. Anyways, I don't like the yellow color. I do suppose you were going for an alien look to it, but it just doesn't work well. The effect in the background is pretty interesting, but the yellow detracted my interest to large levels. It just doesn't look good, that yellow. I give it an 4.5/10. I don't really like it.

What's an Icharus? Don't you mean Icarus? Eh..I looked it up on dictionary.com; that's the closest thing I can find to it. Or maybe it's just a name you randomly made up...who knows. Heh. As for the poem. It's simple and painted. I feel like I'm left with a slight aftertaste of wanting more. It is pretty good, though, I do agree with Heaven's Cloud. But it isn't the best poem I've ever read on these boards, heh. I can't give you that much. Eh, anyways, I'm too lazy to write a poem right from my head now, so I'll just post my most recent. This is also in my poem thread. To Kill A Raven Throwing Rocks I'd tear my throat out But then I couldn't speak To kill a raven Isn't it so I'd give everything I have to keep I'd tear it away feathers of what I've lost There'd be no smiles gracing the lines Sometimes you're just too weak The ravens fly overhead No angels no wings Sometimes you're just too weak To kill a raven Isn't it so I'm stuck on words I can't say Feathers inundated and black; turned your back Turned your back again There'd be no smiles gracing these cracks Your beak's black; you're not coming back Not coming back Remember when you're young Those aren't words this isn't where you've run Only gone where the ravens' sung Park's the blood; swing's the lung Remember how you used to breathe It's tearing my throat out I'd have to say Remembering how you used to breathe How you'd just ride and ride the swing To kill a raven Isn't it so Lose the railing Let it all go It's giving everything I'd have to say Remembering when you're young How those words were never there; how far you've run Dirt is the past; it's already dug Sometimes you just lose what was love I'm stuck on words I can't say The swing; the lung; the park I'm stuck on these words and I can't say All you know just seems to fall away Just seems to fall away How you used to breath Seems to fall away Ravens do fly overhead No angels no wings Sometimes you are just too weak It's like you've thrown so many rocks; nothing's sweet It's throwing everything I'd say rolling these rocks Sometimes you learn what's to be a rock and roll You've got this last rock; this last throw It's needing to hit that finger; hit that toe Then you know what it's like to be a rock and not to roll And isn't it so To kill a raven To take that rock And let it roll To kill a raven Isn't it so
  8. Tony, you know way too much about music. Heh. I wish I knew that much about it. *is given a gold star by Sara* Yeah, I like Elton John. And Sara, I'm not really into popular music aka pop. Or, I guess you were more or less referring to the new music that's been coming out or so. *shrug* But anyways, I listen to mostly things from the 70s-80s. I find that stuff to be better; so don't feel left out. I know next to nothing about music these days. I rarely watch TV as it is.
  9. Wow. That's another masterpiece by the master Mr. Piroh. I name it...Effervescent Efference. I'm bad at names. Anywho, it's great. I can't say anymore or I'd explode. 9.1/10. Don't expect a ten; don't expect one ever. But I really like this.
  10. It was Harley. Just me being my usual sadistic self-reflectory vendetta. Hm. Yes. People have some explaining to do.. I really need to spar with you again sometime, heh. Maybe then we could explain it?
  11. Yeah, Mnem, it's Mitchell. Mitchell. Mitchell. Mitchell. Mitchell. Beaten into your head yet? I still find that odd, Flynn. I hope we're not blood brothers, or something, heh. Gomen means sorry, eh? What does the other word mean, Sara. Or would it make me shudder as well?

    E-Dates

To be honest, actually physically seeing someone and actually being in a physical relationship is, in so many ways, better than E-dating, or whatever. I've met some wonderful wonderful people here on OB. That I do have to say. That's sort of beside the point, but I needed to throw it in there. Because it's true. I have. Now, you cannot love someone until you actually really get to know them. The internet can somewhat do this; but only to a certain level, only to one step. Plus the internet is like a veil. Although I'm a really honest person, I know, I know for a fact that people online don't actually act like themselves in some cases. It's all about how the internet makes them feel sheltered, so it's easier for them to not be what they really are and just hang free. So no, E-Dating probably doesn't work, in my opinion. Just talking to someone and getting to know them isn't enough in the long run. You'll get someplace with E-Dating, but in all eventuality, it won't work. Really, I'm unsure about what actually E-Dating is to you. Is it actually meeting someone you've never even known, or is it just simply communicating over an instant messenger? *shrug* And the married thing. At least to me, it does mean something. Shy's one of the best people I've met here, with every time we talk it's getting easier and easier to talk, in some cases. I don't find it funny at all. It isn't necessarily meaning we're married, of course not. But, more or less, it's basically a showing of our friendship in some manners. I don't know how else to say it. When it first happened I had about five minutes left online. So Shy just decided that we would get married in five minutes. Spur of the moment, heh. Yeah, I can't really exactly describe what the marriage things in sigs mean; but they do mean something more, at least to me.

  14. Well said, Tony. There's such better music out there then KR and Sheryl Crow. Bleh.
  15.
Originally posted by The Harlequin .....Alright. That's enough. Yay, I won something. *feels special or something* Ahem, anyways, if you want to give the popularity thing to Flynn, it's fine by me. He put a hell of a lot more into his than I did this time. It doesn't matter, though.

    Sailor Moon!

I've only seen the dubbed versions on CN. They are horrible. From all that I see, this series is just that. It's like the powerangers only 'girlified.' Not that the powerangers was bad, it's just that...from the second new show and on..It was horrible. Geh. *_* The show, from what I've seen, is just things repeating in an endless cycle. 1)Bad dude appears 2)Sailormoon and her Sailors kill the baddie 3)Other quirks And... The end That's...desensitized a bit, heh, but that's near close in what I meant.
  17.
Originally posted by Sara Well, geez. I understood it. :p Very nice, Shy.
Quiet, you. *feels stupid* *_* Eh..at least my brother/ sister? doesn't mess with my desktop and place a horrible wallpaper on it. :p

Isn't is obvious? -Shy :p
Well, not exactly, heh. I guess I'm just 'out of it' today, or something. Thank you for celebrating my club to your club or whatever.
  19.
Originally posted by Shyguy Mitch: I think that TN was talking about my club. -Shy
*doesn't understand why you would make a new club* Ah well. Whatever. *shrug* I'm just a confuzzled person. v-v Ahem, then nevermind my confuzzled-ness-ish-ing.
  20. I love Lain; it's a wonderful series. I haven't seen all of it, I've missed a few episodes here and there, but I strongly recommend any good and deep anime fan see it. I love it. It's so deep. Good stuff. I really haven't watched Unleashed, though, I just don't have the time. It's on always so late, and I'm usually asleep pretty early.
  21.
Originally posted by Transtic Nerve I WANNA JOIN! I WANNA JOIN! I WANNA JOIN!
Eh, okay then. I'm sure Sej's seen this post, and if not, I shall tell him. ^^
  22. Hm. I'm not sure if I like this one better. I'd say the other banner and this one are near equal in their quirks and where they stand. I do like how you gave this banner that nice animation. I do like the new effect in the background; it's pretty nice. Heh, I don't know if it's better; I just can't really say. They're both good banners. So stick with the one you like, Jeh. *eagerly awaits new avatar*

Country has always been my least liked music genre. Of course there are a few good country songs. But if you asked me to name more than five or so, you'd get one blank stare from me. It doesn't suit Mr. KR at all. And the song is just horrible anyways. Bleh. Country.
  24. It's great, Shy. It's vintage you. Heh. And yes, I am confused.
  25.
Originally posted by Mnemolth It'd help a great deal if you'd vote Harlequin, along with others. How the hell did Flynn suddenly get 4 votes, too? O.o Ah well. He deserves it more than me.
