There are some kids that want to do it on their own. I mean its not all that uncommmon, there are young kids that would want to enter a beauty pagent on their own because they want to have fun. Of course, then there are those parents who think their child is simply gorgeous and therefore enter them into a beauty pagent to show up another person or something like that. I know that consensus of the children don't want to do these beauty pagents, but a few do. I guess that's all I have to say.[/SIZE][/COLOR]

If your character is an Instrumentalist, your mecha needs and instrument name, I don't care what kind of instrument as long as it is an instrument. And Strike has not yet associated with the Instrumentalists, that will happen in the rpg. And everyone, Please, I don't know how many people I've PMed about this, but your mecha needs to either use weapons of Light if you are a Singer or Weapons of Dark if you are an Instrumentalist, now if you've PMed me and asked me really nicely, then you can keep your weapons. [COLOR=DarkSlateBlue][SIZE=1]Well, it was just released today that a judge declared that since the Kansas Legislature could not make a decision on a funding plan for the next year, he ruled that as of June 30th he is saying that state funding for schools will be shut off until the money can be distributed constitutionally. Thankfully our District Attorney is appealing to the State Supreme Court, honestly as a next year senior I think that the whole goverment is going to hell and it just shows how democracy is dying out in this country.. If Bush or Kerry don't do something to get this country back on track, we all are screwed.[/SIZE][/COLOR]

Running from that building with tears streaming down his face, Zoltin saw his friends waiting for him with a party of congratulations. Feeling very weak, Zoltin had collapsed to his knees and bawled right there in front of them. [COLOR=Indigo][SIZE=1]Well, our wonderful school district really cracks me up because they were hollering that they would have to fire some 100 odd teachers due to budget cuts, but the school board and superintendent have all but treated the teachers and faculty with the respect that they deserve so a lot of teachers are retiring, last I heard about 200 some odd teachers are retiring and our ignorant superintendent is still saying that they will have to fire teachers. The whole reason behind so many teachers retiring is because this superintendent came to our school district and before he was even hired, he started yelling at teachers and treating them like they were idiots etc., and this was coming from some jerk who does not even have a PhD, which is required by the Kansas State Board of Education, but I guess our school board president did some fast talking and they hired the jerk anyways, well this whole year he has alienated teachers and done nothing to support them. But see I find it amazing that our school board says we don't have enough money, when they could spend money to buy every single adminstrator (principal and vice principal) in our school district a $600.00 palm pilot just as freaking bribes. That tells me there some dirty dealing going on within the higher ups.[/SIZE][/COLOR]

The dos and don?ts of the world always seem to not apply to those who lay them down, yet it is those who have laid them down who seem to think they can flaunt them, but if someone else were to, those people would chastise them. Is this because they consider themselves superior, or is there more too it? No one wants to be honest anymore, they hold meetings in secret and have spokespeople say that ?It will be just a little longer,? but nothing is ever done to relieve the problems of the world. The politicians are too concerned about filling their pockets with money and staying in office. A mother weeps, a child cries, and a wife looks on in disbelief. This scene has become the norm in most places in the world because of the hatred and greed that is generated. The life of this planet is all of its own. Its is much like that of a dance that never ends, but where there is a dance there is a singer and a musician. The singers are people who bring peace and harmony to this chaotic world, they also bring the light and fight for it. Yet, there are always the Instrumentalists. The Instrumentalists are Singers who have become evil either by force or by their own will. They have become tired of fighting for the light and deem it senseless and ignorant. Of course, some of their evil can be dispelled by the song that our chosen one sings. Our battles have now escalated to the field of using mechas and will remain that way until something new happens. Unfortunately, only the chosen one who guides the Prelude to Harmony is the only one who can save our brothers and sisters, only will its song free them and bring them back to us. So we wait, we wait for the one who was chosen. But unfortunately, there is the sad truth that a person who is close to the chosen one will become his/her enemy and pilot Prelude to Destruction. [COLOR=DarkSlateBlue][SIZE=1]Recently the state of Kansas congress just adjurned for the summer and they were supposed to have come up with a way to fund school districts in the entire state with enough money, but the house would not pass anything, the last one was an 82 million dollar increase, but they would cut back some money from for highway things, I don't remember the specifics but the house shot that bill down faster than a duck. Now they have left all the school districts high and dry, but yet I find this amazing. Our very same congress agreed on passing a bill that would pay tution fees for Illegal Immigrants, to me this is very disturbing, see I just think that in doing this the goverment is really alienating the already disgruntled teachers that may lose their jobs. I mean the Unified School District 501 will be losing a lot of money, the school board and superintendent have already announced what will be getting cut. Things such as Middle School Athletics, Elementary school bands are just to name a few, course our district has kind of alienated the teachers and faculty, as well as the student body, that would be thanks to our wonderful superintendent. Basically, what this whole rant and thread is about is, is your state getting proper funding to education or are they pulling stupid stunts like this?? I'm just curious, or is just that Kansas has an idiotic goverment, because I still find it simply annoying that our goverment chooses to pay tution fees for people who are in the state ILLEGALY, but yet they cannot fund school districts properly.[/SIZE][/COLOR]

Entering his dimly lit house, Nen walked towards his fire place and started up a small fire and put his rapier on his bed and headed towards his bathing room. The room consisted of two large pools, they were about six feet across and about twenty feet deep. But the differences about them was that one was heated from an underground heat source while the other was a basic temperature. Sighing, Nen slid into the warmer pool and drifted down to the bottom of the pool. Touching the smooth tiled bottom, he opened his eyes and stared up at the top of the pool, but his mind was elsewhere. Nen still couldn't believe how the king had become obsessed with material items and not worried about his daughter and the welfare of his people. Silently muttering, Nen laid down on the bottom of the pool and let the warmth of the water surround his body, not really knowing what he should do besides just that. His next shift wouldn't be til tomorrow morning, so he had the rest of the day to himself. Finally deciding he'd been in the pool long enough he shot up out of the water he jumped onto the ledge of the pool. Reaching for a towel, Nen quickly dried the excess water off his body and wandered towards his bed and fell into a deep slumber.[/I][/SIZE][/COLOR]

That's why I like Marshmallon, he's an Angel/Fairy type and then he's LIGHT attribute which makes him leathal in Light decks, when the massive swarm of Angels hit the field in July in Ancient Sanctuary. So yeah he tis pretty good. Now, I'm sure with the releas of IOC everyone was scrambling for Chaos Emperor Dragon and Black Luster Soldier-Envoy of Creation. But one good Ultra Rare that came out was this, and I'm only using a broad generalization when I said everyone, because a majority of duelists went straight for either Dragon or the Soldier. [B]Dark Magician Of Chaos (aka Black Magician Of Chaos) Spellcaster/8/2800/2600 [/B] Effect: When this card is Normal Summoned or Special Summoned successfully, you can add 1 Spell Card from your Graveyard to your hand. A monster that is destroyed by this monster as a result of battle is removed from play instead of going to the Graveyard. When this card is destroyed or removed from the field, it is removed from play[/COLOR]. [COLOR=Navy][SIZE=1]Okay, now this little jewl is worth a thousand words, but due to time constraints, you'll have to suffer my short rantings!!! Anyways, the major upsides of this card is its effect, I mean yes just a flat out 2800 hitter is good, but it can still get smacked by BEWD, Tyrant Dragon, Invader Of Darkness, etc. But I'll talk about that later. The effect of this is sheer brilliance, I mean think about it, you dump this guy either via Cheerful Coffin, Painful Choice, or Graceful Charity and you can revive it and get a good magic card back from your graveyard. The reason this card was restricted to one in Japan was due to this combo. Dump 3 of this guy in your graveyard with Cheerful Coffin, Painful Choice, or Graceful Charity. Take Monster Reborn and get 1st Magician back. Get Monster Reborn back due to Magician's effect. Repeat step three until the other two are on your field. Then get either HFD or Raigeki and wipe out anything your opponent has waiting for you and then kill them for 8400. Now, to that's just cheaper than CED in soooo many words.. I mean good lord you get three out and its ouch time in like maybe three or so turns, granted you have the correct cards in your hand. Moving onto the downsides of this card. When it dies, it goes out of play and stays out unless you have Miracle Digs in your deck to save this card. Also, there was some questions in Japan about this card and the text. When he is removed from the field, that refers to such things as Penguin Soldier, Cyber Jar, and yes Fiber Jar will remove this guy in a heartbeat too. All in all I have to give this guy a 4.9/5 he's almost too good to be true, and his last part of his effect proves it. I definetly suggest this card for Dark Magician deck users, Spellcasters, or just plain out beatdown, just to annoy the hell out of your opponent when you remove their Sangan, Witch, and even Sinster Serpent ^_^[/SIZE][/COLOR]

OOC: Aiyaa!! I meant to post last night and didn't get a chance too!! *faints* [COLOR=RoyalBlue][SIZE=1][I]Nen stood in his regular position in the throne room. Next to the king and always stiffer than a board. At first when he had started this job, Nen hated standing so still and paced for days, and when he was off duty he would practice standing still and he just hated it. But now that he was a high ranking knight, Nen had to be a model knight for the younger ones. His fingers rapping lightly on his rapier's hilt, Nen thought back a couple of days ago. A man with black armor and ugly looking skin appeared before the king. Something hadn't seemed right about the man, he was too confident in himself and he just seemed wrong in so many ways in Nen's eyes and mind. Just the feeling Nen got from the man, or the Gerudo as Nen should say.. What was his name again? It was Gannandorf, he just seemed evil. Mentally snapping out of it, Nen decided he was just being paranoid. As he looked over at the king he noticed that the king was starting to look anxious too. But Nen really didn't care anymore about the king, simply because the king started acting greedy since that damn Gerudo showed up. Now Nen was starting to get pissed, and usually when he got pissed the only two things that calmed him down, he couldn't do at the moment until his replacement for the next shift appeared. Damn that lazy guard who sleeps in. Late as usual, Nen's replacement showed up with a glazed over look on his face. Once the replacement stepped up to Nen he made a sloppy salute and as Nen shot him daggers from his eyes, the replacement was either half asleep, being a smart off, or he was drunk off his butt. Nen kindly saluted back and as he walked past the oaf he made sure that his head fins smacked the guard in the face as he walked by, successfully Nen was glad to hear the loud smack across the incompetent Zora's face. Leaving the throne room, Nen stood over the large waterfall that gave good scenery to the Zora's Domain. As he looked down he sighed and jumped off and straight into the pool without much of a splash. Kicking lightly, Nen drifted downwards towards the bottom and near the channel to Lake Hylia, but he didn't feel like visiting the lake for now. Instead he just floated on about the middle level of the water and just lay there, his rapier in its scabbard just hanging as an arm would if you let it go limp. The water felt cooler than it had yesterday, it seemed as if day by day the water was cooling off. Shrugging off the feeling, Nen floated up to the surface and let the water lap over his body. Zora's were made to blend into the water, but with his markings, Nen stood out like he was in a crowd of Hylians. Finally after having relaxed himself off enough, Nen climbed out of the water and headed into a small tavern and pulled up a seat at the bar and the bartender looked at Nen and clicked his tounge.[/I] "Tch tch.. Nen you really look like you need some of your usual. Luckily I have some fresh off the fire so here ye go." [I]Grabbing a bowl and ladling out some of the bar's infamous seafood blast stew. Nen was practically watering at the mouth at the aroma of the food, he hadn't eaten for at least two hours and he was famished. As soon as the bowl was placed in front of him, Nen simply grabbed the spoon from the bar tender's hand and started to wolf down the stew like mad. The bartender smirked and started to serve some liquor to some of the other customers, though most of them were here for the stew as well. Once the tender was done he came over to Nen and leaned against the bar and looked Nen dead straight in the eyes.[/I] "Okay, now that you look like you are a lot more happy, mind telling me what had you so angry?" "Just my replacement is such a boob, I mean in the sense that he's a sloppy knight. I'm amazed that the king even knighted him.." [I]Shaking his head slowly Nen stared at the empty bowl and then back at the bartender who sighed and filled the bowl up again. Cid had been putting most of the supplies onto the chocobos but when he went to put the supplies on the one Hayden would be riding, the blasted thing had nipped and warked angrily at Cid. Knowing something was wrong Cid inspected the bird, sure enough he'd found a break in the poor thing's wing. It really wasn't nothing in the wild, but if Hayden were going to ride a chocobo it couldn't be this one unless..[/I] "Prynn, you know a cure spell right?" "Yes. Why, are one of the chocobos hurt?" [I]Cid pointed to the one nursing its injured wing and Prynn walked over and placed his hands over its wing, the bird looked at him with large blue eyes in wonder as its wing started to heal. After a few minutes the bird was flapping its wing and warking happily. Still slumped against Cid's house, Cael watched as Cid and Prynn greeted Vela with happy handshakes and the usual idle chit chat. After the pleasantries were over, Cid looked around for Tylan.[/I] "****, where'd that boy go off to? You know we got a time limit to stay within here." Post a card that you think is deserving and then discuss its pros and cons and then I hope we can have some decent conversation among ourselves about our own opinions of certain cards. Today for Essay #1 I will introduce Marshmallon, a card from Premium Pack 6. [IMG]http://www.cardhaus.com/images/pp6-001.jpg[/IMG] Stats (translations courtesy of Edo) [B]PP6-001 MARSHMALLON Light/Angel/4/300/500 The controller of a Monster that attacks this card while face- down received 1000 points of damage after Damage Calculation. This card can't be destroyed as a result of Battle. (Damage ic calculated normally.) ULTRA RARE[/B] Okay, now this card is very impressive in the sense that it has a semi-better effect than that of Spirit Reaper. I say that because of its nasty effect of your opponent losing 1000 life points just for attacking it while it was in face down defense position. Another good point is that its a defense wall for a good amount of time. Another good thing is that this thing doesn't blow up if you use a magic card on it. Now for the downside. This card can be taken controll of and used against you, in the context that a player could Snatch Steal this card from you, tribute it, and then proceed to smack you around.[/COLOR] Rating 4.5/5 This card is a pretty good defense wall and has a nasty effect, though I really doubt 1000 LP damage to a JP player is worth that much since they had been using such cards as Confiscation and Delinquent Duo for so long, until DD got banned. But anywho, I really think this card is pretty neat.

First off, Mobile Suit Gundam from 0079 did in fact suck as a TV SERIES, but if you were smart and bought the English Dubbed only VHS tapes you would definetly enjoy it, simply said because the character development is more present in the movies than in the series, secondly the voices are much more real; the actors didn't just act all dumb and mechanical like they do now, also the music is very touching. So let me get this straight, you think that ALL gundam series suck... Boy I have a few series to make you think otherwise, starting from Zeta and moving up. Gundam Zeta: Gundam Zeta is set in UC 0083, a few months after Operation Stardust from the 0083 series (which in fact was released quite a while after Zeta had finished airing.) and focuses on 17-year old Kamille Bidan who will soon become the pilot of the Gundam Zeta. This series has major character development, serious complexities, and a decent musical score to go along with it. Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ: Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ or Double Zeta was released in Japan in 1986 and is a direct sequel to Gundam Zeta. Now the focus shifts to young Judau Ashta who now takes control of first Zeta (I won't reveal what happens to Kamille simply for the sake of the fact that Zeta is coming out this September) and then he takes over ZZ. This series is very comedic but it also has its dark points. It focuses on Judau finding his lost sister and reuniting with her. But I'm very certain that there are plenty of other reasons he's piloting the ZZ. Chars Counterattack: Duh, simply stated. Its Char getting revenge on Amuro for the death of Lalah. The movie is out in english so get it, watch it, and tell me what you think. Mobile Suit Gundam Formula 91: This a feature length film and is very good IMO simply because its the first to last UC Gundam ever and it introduces a lot of new technology to the UC fans. Catch this in May. Mobile Suit Victory Gundam: I made a whole thread about this but since you dissed all of the other gundam series I think you ought to listen to this. Mobile Suit Victory Gundam IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE LONGEST RUNNING GUNDAM SERIES!! It spanned over 52 episodes and since the budget was so huge for it it got a full year of air time in Japan. The story focuses on 13 year old Usso Evin who is forced to pilot the Victory Gundam, at the age of thirteen you would think that he would go either nuts of become some sort of sadistic killer, well I won't tell you. You'll have to find out for yourself when V-Gundam comes over to the U.S. But what makes V-Gundam so great is the simple fact that its budget was so huge that the animation is great, the musical scores are composed by a full orchestra, and the fact that the mech designs can trace back their roots to their 0079 ancestors, and then there is the gundam, it in itself is unique and is a work of art, also some newer mechs were introduced as well. G-Gundam: I know, most of you people think this is a horrible Gundam Series, but so what. Here's Gundam history 101. G-Gundam was in fact made specifically for the 15th anniversary of Gundam and granted some people grumbled about at the begining, but by the end everyone enjoyed it. But the U.S. version was kind of sloppy, I mean calling God Gundam, Burning Gundam was just so wrong, as well as Devil Gundam to Dark Gundam.... But this series is noble in the sense that it actually went the distance from the original creators lines of making Gundam. Mass produced gundams and a large gundam fight, its awesome. Gundam Wing: YOU DARE SAY THIS SERIES SUCKS!!!! I OUTTA SMACK YOU WITH A HOT POKER!!! *is suddenly censored by Dagger.* Okay, now I'm angry.... Wing was the FIRST GUNDAM SERIES RELEASED IN AMERICA!!!!!!! If Wing hadn't done well here you know what, SEED wouldn't be here and we'd all be like "what's a gundam??" So I definetly suggest you hold your tounge on Wing. Gundam X: This I'll agree, it doesn't do so well in the sense that the script went no where and the characters were pale, but the mechs and music were good. Gundam Turn A: This was made by teh man himself, the man who originally created gundam made a return debut and released this little gem so as to say. It did exceedingly well in Japan and I can't wait for it to debut here. Gundam SEED: If you noticed, SEED was made practically in homage to the UC gundam. I forgot to mention 0080 and 0083, I haven't done my research on those two yet but I have read about 0083 and I must say that I am not impressed, reminds me of X too much... But yeah, please think before you bash all the other Gundam series and then say that SEED is good. Because if Wing hadn't done well, then SEED wouldn't be here. There, that's my rant for now. [COLOR=Indigo][SIZE=1]Name: Nen Zhi Age: 23 Gender: Male Race: Zora Class: Knight Background: Nen, like all Zoras, was born in the Zora's domain which means in seclusion. As the years progressed, Nen seemed to feel like he was on the outside looking in at the rest of his people. When he was sixteen, Nen decided to leave the domain and explore the rest of the world, first on his stop was Lake Hylia. Taking the warp tunnel near the waterfall at the entrance of the domain, Nen soon found himself in the large mass of Lake Hylia. There he saw amazing and scary things. He was amazed that the world was so huge compared to his small home of the domain and yet it felt so familiar. He was scared by the fact that so many Octorocks roamed the lake unchecked and came close to getting attacked by one, until he decided to get out of the water and explore. Leaving the Lake behind, Nen headed into the Hyrule field and was overwhelmed by the sheer size of it all, he couldn't believe how enormous the place was. After feeling somewhat confused Nen spotted a large castle in the distance and knew he had two choices, either he return home and probably get the lecture of his life, or go to the castle and see if he can find something to appease his father.. Nen went with the second choice and ran for it to the castle. As he arrived at the castle, Nen was in sheer awe. It must have been noticable, but Nen didn't care all he could think about was how unfair his parents had been for not showing him the world outside of the domain. As he'd entered the square of the village Nen decided maybe a weapon would be a good present for his father. Heading over to the local blacksmith Nen was shocked to see so many swords, daggers, axes, dirks, lances, and then he was caught by the rapiers. He knew his father loved fencing and Nen decided that if he got his father a rapier from a Hylian store he would be very pleased. Upon paying for the rapier, Nen rushed back out of the castle and towards the gate to Lake Hylia, but as he closed in on the gate the sun finally set and a wolf could be heard howling in the distance. Unforunately the Stall children appeared and started to swarm him, not even realizing it, Nen took out the rapier and went wild on the demonic looking children as he was finally able to gain acess to the lake. Arriving home late and with some scratches and brusies, Nen recieved a rather long and angered lecture from his parents. But when Nen showed the rapier to his father the lecture stopped midway and his father just got a glazed over look on his face. After that Nen made trips back and forth to the lake until he was twenty which was when he was made a knight of King Zora. His father having died the previous year, Nen recieved both of his father's rapiers, one Nen keeps hung above his bed and the second he uses as his own weapon. [I]Cid hollered as he raised a fist, but the chocobo just gave him the inoccent look and Cid calmed down, now the bird just leaned down and looked Cid at eye level before it stuck out its tounge and ran into the shelter of the barn that it had been hiding in. Chuckling, Cael looked over at Reese and Prynn.[/I] "I think that bird reminds me too much of Hayden." [I]Reese smiled and Prynn let out a slight chuckle as Cid chased the bird around until he stopped and glared.[/I] "Crazy bird....Always causing a scene..." [I]The man muttered as he marched the bird back into its stable. As he did so, Cael could hear even more warks eminating from the massive building.[/I] "Good lord, how many birds does he have in there!?" "Cid's the top Chocobo breeder in this village, they are the best transportation across the desert. I mean your horses were great from where you are, but they won't be able to bypass a lot of the monsters that roam this place." [I]Cael nodded and looked back towards Prynn's house.[/I] " I'm gonna go back and get my sword, I think I left it in my room." [I]Cael bolted off towards the house and in a few minutes he was back inside the massive mansion and was heading down the hallway and into his room and as soon as he picked up his sword he whirled around with it at the ready, but it was only Reese who was trailing him. Dropping his sword by his side, Cael let out a sigh and looked at the young girl.[/I] "You scared the crap out of me. Don't do it again please." [I]Reese smiled and looked at him.[/I] "Why? Do you like knowing everything? Or is it simply that you don't like surprises." [I]Cael just looked at her and walked on out the door motioning for her to follow. As they exited Prynn's house and entered the front courtyard they saw a young girl in all white clothing and purple hair.[/I] "Is there anything I can do for you?" [I]Reese asked as the girl looked up towards her.[/I] "I need to speak with Prynn, my name is Vela." [I]Reese nodded and led both Cael and Vela back towards Cid's house where there was now even more warking and more chocobos running around the yard.[/I] "Jeez Cid.. Why did you.." "I didn't let em' out, the stupid featherbrains got out on their own!!!" [I]Cid yelled as a chocobo ran by and nipped him on the rear. Jumping up and down the man cursed again at the bird that had done the deed and then he pulled out a rather large green.[/I] "Here birdy birdy birdy....." [I]The chocobos' attention was gotten and they all followed Cid into the barn where he proceeded to throw the green smack dab in the middle of the building and ran out like a madman and slammed the doors shut.[/I] "God those things are crazy!!" [I]He said as he slid down onto the ground and looked at the one that Edana was walking around.[/I] "Wark??" [I]The chocobo asked in its own silly voice.[/I] "Well, cept you. Yer the sane one around here." "WARK!!!" [I]The bird said cheerfully and jumped up and down. Cid's attention finally snapped towards Cael, Reese, and Vela. Seeing that the newest addition to the team was here he grinned happily.[/I] "All right, now that we have everyone here we can get our supply bags that I have already packed for you and load them up onto the birds and be on our way."[/SIZE][/COLOR]

[SIZE=1][COLOR=Indigo]This new manga made by CLAMP was just released today at Barnes and Noble and I decided to pick up a copy and get it. I mean the cover art just caught my eye. The Japanese gothic art style is so dark and yet so interesting. Also, the cover has a really different feel to it and the first four pages are in color so ^_^ Now onto the story, basically its about a young boy named Watanuki Kimihiro who is haunted by spirits and visions as well. One day he is being hassaled by a rather grotesque spirit, that is until it disappears and he finds himself in front of a rather odd looking house, in which his legs then proceed to haul him into a house where two young twin girls greet him and take him to Yuko who is a wish granter and her house is a shop of wishes. So for him to pay Yuko, Watanuki must work as Yuko's maid, cook, and assistant. The story covers Japan and introduces a lot of things such as fate and destiny. I won't spoil the rest but I definetly suggest that you pick this and the first volume of Tsubasa which was also released today. These are both great mangas.
