I like Yaoi, but I'm straight. I don't really have any good reason for this, maybe it's just hormones or a kinky fetish of mine.

I'm currently publishing an Inu X shippou yaoi/shota (Shippou is 50 so I don't know what to put it as.) were Inu goes insane, eats Kagomes brains and rapes Shippou.

All in all, InuYasha is a crappeh show, but he looks good nekkid and that's fine enough for me!

For future reference, please post threads regarding any discussion about a anime series, or another related topic, such as in this case; Yaoi, in the Anime Lounge. That's where I'll be redirecting this thread to.

Oh, and Bloodseeker, please avoid posting single, short comments such as yes or no remarks. If you're going to post in a thread please do your best to write a somewhat elaberate remark, and if you find that you cannot, then please do not post in that thread at all. Thanks.

Feel free to PM myself or another moderator, If you have any questions.

Bloodseeker, when you say something as provocative as you did in this forum, you really need to explain why you think so. Otherwise you'll just look like a ignorant newbie, which you aren't really. (Just a friendly advice.)

I'm gay (well, duh!), but I don't consider myself a yaoi-fan.

Why? Two male manga-characters getting down on each other is hawt, but I really don't like the style of mating a gorgeous, tall-as-a-house popular guy with a short, awkward, big-eyed boy who looks like a girl without boobs. :/

That's just isn't gay, if you get my drift! In my opinion many girls love yaoi (over say gay porn), because the main character is almost always as girlish as them. And the yaoi-girliness is very far from the pretentious, overdone, "pink positive" behaviour that some Western gay guys favor.

My point is, to me yaoi-manga looks very similar to "straight" manga, because the main character could very well be a girl personality- and behaviour-wise - just draw a few more curves at him and voilá! :P

Take Gravitation for an example: in a purely visual and aesthetic p-o-w, I'd be more than happy to see the tall, handsome guys hitting it off with each other, if they'd erase that main character with his huge eyes and dressing-up fetish. Now, of course the main character is crucial to the plot of the manga, and makes it what it is, but does he really need to be a girl with a wang? 8/

Yes me! i mus be one of the only people on this whole forum that will talk openly about Yaoi! so i commend anyone who really loves Yaoi and has commented in this thread.

I love Yaoi i've been into it for about 7 years now and i jusr can't stop! I did go cold turkey for almost a hole year but then my friend got Gravatition and i started all over again but i became worse this time. I love almost all pairings, apart from really old men ones and shota, that i can't stand and yaoi with in families, like Ed and Al from FMA.

Here are my top pairings that i am into at the moment:-
Duo x heero (gundam wing)
Quatre x Trowa (gundam wing) and just most pairings in gundam wing apart from Zechs and Triezes(Again old men pairing)
Everyone in Sukisko (which is the best yaoi anime ever!)
Edx Roy(FMA)
But i prefer Ed x Envy(Much better :animenose )

There are lots more but i can't be bother to type them all, I started off on Gundam wing yaoi so i will never go off it it. At the moment i been reading alot of mangas so i'm into them at the moment. THe best ones i have read are Punch Drunk babies, Pretty scoop, Steady study and the best one that i have read lately is No money. If you haven;t read it then i totally recommend it it is great. but as we are talking about anime, the best anime that i have seen so far has to be Sukisko, some people thinks it's hard to follow but i think it just that little bit better then Gravatition.

I like yaoi, but not when it goes TOO far, if u no what I mean.. :animedepr I like looking at pics of Malik and Bakura together, but not a big fan of seeing Ed and Mustang or Sasuke and Naruto together because... it just doesn't seem right. :animeswea If they don't like each other in the manga, then how could they have a relationship together?? Just a thought.. :animesmil :animeswea But, hey, I have to agree with the dude who says that it's weird when some huge pretty boy with a small girly looking guy because I think that maybe the tall guy is blind and thinks that the girly boy is really a girl. :animesmil Anyways, I really like yaoi, but not too much. Please don't get me wrong, thread starter, looking at yaoi pictures with my two favorite characters is really hot and sexy.... :animeshy: :animeblus :animenose :animestun I'm all for yaoi. :catgirl:

I like Yaoi. I've been a yaoi fan for years. But, my type of yaoi isn't the type most people picture.

For instance, I like it when men look like men, not as what Sage said about Gravitation and Shuuichi. I still enjoy it...but...

Okay, I like titles like Fake, and just about anything by CLAMP--including their outright yaoi titles like Tokyo Babylon and Legal Drug. I also love the Toya/Yuki and Clow/ Yue pairings from Card Captor Sakura, and I'm currently loving Fai/Kuro-Tan from Tsubasa.

As much as I love yaoi from Gundam Wing--that was what started me on it--my favorite isn't from this one.

My favorite is by Kazuya Minekura--the creator of Saiyuki. No...it's not Sanzo/Goku or Gojyo/Hakkai (I have arguments against the pairing of the latter), but from a title of her's that hasn't been released by in America yet. (I DO like Kou/Dokugaku, but that's beside the point...)

It's called Wild Adapter, and the pairing is pretty obvious once you read it. It's funny, but it has it's moodier moments too. The only way I can describe it is that these two characters have a complex like that of Sanzo and Goku.

The only catch to this one is that only volumes 1-3 are translated, and I can't find info if there's anymore.

Want a place to find the translations? PM me. I'm always willing to help a fellow yaoi fan.

This needs to go into the Hall of Fame somewhere, as one of the most disturbing things ever posted.

Anyway, I'm not into Yaoi. Not only does it sound weird pronounced outloud (yowee?), I find myself disturbed by how girlish the guys are in anime, it's even creepier when they get together. It's like two girls getting together but they have male parts instead of female, they're just so effeminate you may as well be watching some yuri stuff.

By the way, I didn't mean gay people are creepy; I meant guys who look like girls getting together are creepy. Why not just get with a real girl is what I'm wondering. And I'm talking about anime/manga, not real people too. Real gay dudes are only creepy if they're bigger than me.

I am a yaoi fan, sorry to those who aren't.

I've been a fan of yaoi for about... three years, I believe. I started out reading some fanfiction with it (and I will not mention what series), and I was hooked. I went cold turkey, but only for about.... three months, I think.

I love yaoi, though I don't mind het or yuri. Ummm.... I think I take the usual pairings, and I usually only read anime/manga yaoi. :)

I consider myself more of a shounen-ai fan (What can I say? I likes the fluff ^^), but I won't flee in terror from yaoi. XD

I agree with the girly boys comments made though. I tend to stay away from those flowery types of series because really, I don't see the point in a series being boyxboy if one of them is practically a girl.

I dont look at yaoi but h i have no problems with it. The only time it makes me mad to see it is when they take to characters that everybody knows are straight, and make them a yaoi couple, you cant rewrite the story people.

Yuri hentai is cool though. Lady Une and Noin.

There's way too much Gundam Wing yaoi out there, poor Hero. You wear bike shorts for forty plus episodes and everyone thinks you're gay. And DBZ; I have personally seen too many VegetaxGoku fans run rampant with those types of pairings and stories. They crossed the line when they started PiccoloxGohan though, that's a new level of wrong.

This thread brings out all types of horrible memories for me, that I worked so hard to repress. >_>

Hi! this is the creator of this tread speakin'....thanks a lot for everyone who posted their own personal opinions!( i never new this thread would go so well...) i agree that sometimes yaoi pair-ups go too far (like goku and vegeta from DBZ...come on now...) i'm open to hear any comments on yuri stuff too(i wonder why its not as popular...)so... uhh... yeah! :p

There is only one true pairing:

GlUTTon7 "n tUccre $eVAh!!111!!11!!!11!!!1!

That pretty much sums up my feelings on yaoi fanfiction (although I like some boy's love anime and manga such as Gravitation, which I refuse to call "yaoi" since it doesn't contain any sex scenes or dirty stuff).

Okay... I left this thread alone for a while, but I'm a little confused as to what exactly the OP wants the discussion to be. Are you hoping for it to turn into a catch-all topic like this similarly oriented Manga Workshop thread? Or are you just looking for a head count? (Thankfully, it's expanded beyond that already, but its direction is still kind of unclear.) Particularly now that you've indicated a willingness to bring yuri in as well... would you like me to edit the thread title or something?

Well, anyway. I like BL and yuri... just not all of it. Sukisho and Kannazuki no Miko are the scum of the earth, in my opinion (I actually was quite fond of Sukisho when I first watched it, but toward the very end my opinion did a drastic 180, and the OVA only solidified that). And many of the older, more obscure BL OVAs (i.e. Lesson XX, which sounds countless times dirtier than it actually is, and Fish in the Trap) are obscure for a reason.

But there's good stuff to be found amid all the mediocrity, as is the case with any anime genre. Loveless is a shining example of angsty romantic melodrama handled elegantly... and it has heavy helpings of both BL and yuri. Ai no Kusabi is brilliant.

Often the titles that focus on something other than BL/yuri but do have some (or at least hint at it) are more interesting. Revolutionary Girl Utena is my all-time favorite series. Noir is startlingly moving, especially as it gets into the final stretch (there's also a lot to like about the yuri in Devil Lady). And the list goes on. In fairness, though, it's probably at least in part because there are a lot more anime with BL/yuri elements than those which are marketed solely and specifically as BL or yuri shows.

Yes i totally agree, i even see a yaoi image once where piccolo was sitting in a chair and there was like this half monkey and piccolo thing ranning around, if you think about it, all of piccolo's people are gay anyway, cos there no males on there planet so who do they go with to make baby? :animestun seriously beyond me.

Also i agree with you with the gundam wing yaoi, there was too much, they stopped making lots of doujinshi at about 2000, the last group that i know brought out a book about gundam wing was a circle called dark knight, who later when on and did the love is like a storm or something manga(which is like really really good)

I can't believe i meet another person who like wild adapter, isn't it so cool! :animesmil , i mean it like there yaoi in it but they don't make it so obivous that it in your face all the time. i haven't read all of it yet, i just up to chapter 6 i think.

-----

right to some up all my posts.

I love yaoi, i have read a hell of a lot of mangas and doujinshi in my years of yaoiness and i have to say that i never meet so many yaoi fans in such a... shall we say normal forum(the only other forum i go on is Aarinfanstasy, which is just a yaoi forum) but i would like to just clear up what i think.

The best manga i have ever read is most properly pretty scoop, and i know i go on about it all the time but it is really good and i think more people should read it and other work by yamato Nase and friends. My favourate story however is in a manga called Kinjirareta Taion, it's about a detective and he goes out one day and meets up with his old friend's little borhter Kazuki, kazuki is in a bit of trouble at the moment and he is trying to seperate from his old boyfriend who used to beat him. I won't go into too much detail but READ IT!.

See i like all walks of yaoi, soft hard and just down right weird, i also like shouen Ai to a certain level but i really really like to see or at least know that the two guys had it off in the end and frankly shouen Ai doesn't give me that. I also don't like old men pairing and incest pairing, frankly there is just too much out that out there as it is (ED and Al from FMA, is just too sick for me). I kinda like shouta, but not the kind of shouta your thinking of, i like it when it's two 14 years olds of something or when it someone who is 20 going with someone who is like 16. See i never knew that that kind of yaoi was also classed as shouta, but shouta is 'when you have sex with a minor' which means most school based mangas are yaoi and they are my favourate genre :catgirl:

Anyway to some it all up, Yaoi good, hentai not so bad, yuri bad VERY BAD, anyway my favourate pairings Duo and Heero, Quatre and Trowa, Ed x Evny :animenose (really really badly want doujinshi for this pairing, PM if you have any) and i am quite into the Naruto and Sasuke.

If you are really badly into yaoi then i say you go to the y gallery or to namaka group to get more, but DO NOT GO TO THE Y!GALLERY IF YOU DON'T LIKE YAOI!.

Well actually, Piccolo's race is asexual. They don't have any genitalia, and reproduce by spitting up eggs (Piccolo Daimyo does this in Dragonball). Which is why I find Piccolo being paired with anyone utterly disturbing. Girls, guys, other Nameks..... He doesn't have equipment.

Already found some scanlations on this one, but thanks for the heads up anyway! :catgirl: Yep, Kubo-Chan and Toki-Boy are exceptionally cute in this one. As a Minekura fan, don't think I haven't found her other works--it's sort of hard not to if you've been to NITRO.

Yay! *claps* Another person! Don't worry--I can't find all of it either. From what I've read, only three volumes have been translated. I may be wrong, though--you may be able to download them. I just don't want to screw up my parent's computer, so I haven't tried it yet.

Wow. I've found three people who have read this, and I got one other reading it so far. This is getting INTERESTING.... :catgirl:
