Valeigh's eyes snapped and sparkled, and her energy level surged...aided by the flow from Lethe. She screamed and flung both hands forward in a whipcord of electric power.

Rico: VALEIGH!

Valeigh: Then Despair...AND DIE!!!

With a final blast, she snared him around the throat and swung him up and down again. There was a sickening thud, and blood poured from his crushed chest. Valeigh's chest heaved with the effort...and she sank to one knee.

Spyder: NO!

There was startled, sickened silence throughout the room. From Harlequin's ravaged, inert form, tendrils of energy slowly moved upwards, twisting and coalescing into a humanoid being. A darkened being, that certainly not Harlequin.

Ochkik Haddah: You cannot defeat me that easily.

The form started to float forward, but found itself blocked by another shimmering being. Just as black, yet shot with live silver lightning. Harlequin.

Harlequin: Ah, but they have.

Ochkik Haddah: And what did you gain out this? Rememberance as a self-sacraficing noble hero? You disgust me mortal.

Harlequin: Not so, not so.

Harlequin's voice spiralled into a deadly, satisfied whisper.

Harlequin: Oblivion.

Harlequin's etheral form reached out, taking Ochkik Haddah by the throat. Upon contact, there were vicious sparks, as the lightning interlacing Harlequin jumped to the other dark entity. The two seemed to merge, and the energies binding their forms to the material plane dissolved into a maelstrom. What appeared to be a black sun, flares of darkness writhing around it, hung in the middle of the room for many minutes.

Then, at last, the darkness exploded, flying in every direction, seeming to be partial absorbed by everything it touched. In place of the darkness was the lightning, now outlining a familar humanoid figure.

Spyder: So, there really is such a thing as a soul.

Harlequin: Soul? Me? Hell no. I would have stayed away from the whole thing, and stayed corpreal, if the recourse had been becoming a spirit. I'm a collection of energies. Etheric energies, not physical, I'll grant you, but still not a spirit.

Spyder: Alright. What was that all about anyway?

Harlequin: I lied to you somewhat.

Spyder: What?

Harlequin: I do love you. Always have. But the whole idea, both of them, were shot from the beginning. So, I got you to set up the opportunity to do something more permanent to our mutual friend. Anyway, once Valeigh weakened him, I dispersed him. He is now a part of every physical being in this world, whether they are geographical, flora, fauna, anything. A small bit of darkness, in every auric being. So unless the entire planet comes into auric alignment, which is impossible, he's kind of stuck. Anyway, my existence here is over, time to leave now, whatever. As I said, I'll see you all on the other side. Oh, and don't be angry at Valeigh. She did only what needed to be done.

The crackling lightning flickered, and shot towards the wall, blowing a very large hole. The bundle of energies that was Harlequin disappeared, from this place, from this world, from this plane.

OOC: And that is the end of my part in the rpg, come hell, high water, or a continued storyline. I realise that was a very crappy, cliche post, but I was completely shot for further ideas. Thank you all for the experience.

Valeigh smiled. This wasn't so bad. She had used her lightbearing powers, but remembered everything this time. Rico pulled her up and threw one arm around her...holding her on her feet.

She leaned her head to one side, and looked around. Everything was fine....for now. Spyder was crying on the inside, but the new Sellum was calm.

Spyder: ....thank you Valeigh.

Valeigh: ...no. I acted on instinct. You can not commend me for that. Please don't.

Spyder: You did what was necessary.

Valeigh: At your expense.

Rico crossed his arms against her chest and hugged her warmly, sitting on the pew nearest to them. She was at rest, but something was not right. Jenica ceased her lively kicking. He put on a worried face and concured with Valeigh.

Rico: I don't feel her force against your skin.

She waited for a moment, expecting for her to kick, or do something. Anything?

Valeigh: ...you're right. Something's wrong.

Athen and Spyder came to them in support. All four huddled closely, not paying attention to the crowd of people observing the entire series of events inside the large hall.

Spyder: Nothing came out, correct?

Valeigh: No.

They noted that she never got any bigger during her two days pregnancy, though she felt as if her entire world had changed. Now it seemed that everything would be back to normal. If such a thing existed.

Rico: Babies don't take two days to maturate and come out to struggle to survive outside the protection of a mother. I would think that life had only begun to develop.

Athen: Perhaps the death of the Ochkik Haddah had something to do with this.

Spyder: It could, but now we'll never know for sure. The fragments of It are spread out, incubating it's darkness in all things that are to be born.

She pointed to a drawing at the top of the wall, right behind the altar. Depicted was an image of a moutain, casting it's shadow on a large town, much like the way the desert mountain blocked the rising sun from the city. It was a natural formation that was there long before people settled.

Spyder: Sometimes, I begin to wonder if it's our mistake for settling here and never moving, letting the shadow eat us alive, never letting us see the light of day until it's too late. It gives the Ochkik Haddah much more time to do his wrong.

Athen: The lightbearers did such a good job in guarding us from escaping, we really should flee from this place once and for all. It's been too long. It's what you wanted, right Rico?

Rico: All I've seen is death here. How many people have I seen perish in front of my home?

Valeigh: I wouldn't want to raise Jenica only to have her darkness be brought out. We have to give her the love and let her acknowledge it.

Spyder stood up and looked at the congregation behind them.

Spyder: We'll leave you two to accomplish that here. I'm going to force these people standing at the door to do what they're supposed to do. Come inside.

The lightbearers began to pour in cautiously. Holding their staffs and hanging their heads low in mourning of the Ochkik Haddah's death.

Spyder: Why do you cry for such a pathetic being while you have such power in your hands at the moment?

They said nothing. Athen stood with her. Rico and Valeigh turned around, holding hands. Her voice was penetrating, powerful.

Spyder: Did you forget your purpose? What your staff's power was initially intended for? Sellum knew and I would have ripped apart his being if he had not told me why you people exist with blue blood and towering bodies.

"The sun lights the way for many people. But for this city, there is no light for them to look forward to and everything is thrown into chaos. Sellum brought you into existence so that the inhabitants would be protected and guided in the darkness."

She pointed to Valeigh.

"You know this girl. Which shows only a fraction of what you have exsisting inside you. The eradication of darkness is your main goal and you strayed away from that, letting this entire city create a false being, the Ochkik Haddah, to claim the lives of many, including my love."

Tears came to her eyes, but she kept her composure.

"Now I claim you as mine and send you forth to spread the light, if you can."

She doubted that their hearts could be protected. Right then, she changed her decision.

"Your staffs, I want them."

One by one, staffs piled in front of her feet.

"Your robes mean nothing, they may give you status, but not in my eyes."

Athen took one of the staffs and created a fire over an empty basin that seemed to hold water. The lightbearers disrobed and threw the heavy cloth onto the blue flame.

"Look at yourselves, you are not exposed. You are wearing clothing like many of the inhabitants of this city. You walk the streets like they do, only covered by the light. Discgraceful. Now strip your clothing like Valeigh had done briefly."

They did so, exposing the deadly marks of sin on their bodies. Burning the rest of their clothing.

"Why I humilate you, you may ask? I do this because you do not need all of this. Go to your closets, you will find a simple array of clothing and a lantern by it. Once you clothe yourselves and light your lamps, walk the streets not saying a word. You may be humiliated yourselves, it is to be this way until the people begin to wonder.

"Walk in pairs; if there are any lightbearers that are still out there, bring them here. If there are people in trouble, use what you alredy know to alleviate the situation. There is nothing in your power that you cannot do with the staff. I doubt you can do this, even the most simple of tasks when you are so easily corrupted."

Spyder turned to Athen and kept silent. The lightbearers began to stand and leave the hall. Leaving the four once again.

Athen and Spyder turned to Rico and Valeigh.

Spyder: Well, you're free to leave this place and begin your family, I guess.

Rico: We will see.

She kissed Rico and Valeigh on the forehead for the first time.

Spyder: You two, so young, so innocent. You're lucky you haven't seen the worst the world has to offer. The situaion is okay now, but things tend to collapse. It might be wise to leave, escorted by Athen past the desert.

Valeigh: When I glanced out the window when Rico took me for his own, I...I saw the forest next to the fortress, well protected by beings that can co-exist with the darkness. It might be best to keep close to the castle until Jenica is strong enough to fight the world...

Athen: If you agree, Rico.

Rico: I'm willing to take the chance here than out there. I have hope the lighbearers will come back for rest and see Valeigh and me as a family with the usual problems. Even though the darkness is still there, we stay together and hold each other close.

Spyder: If it is your decision, then it is so. But I must ask, why?

Rico: It's because of you and Harlequin, I suppose. I had no idea on what I was getting myself into when I took refuge in your home, only to find Valeigh inside later on, struggling for one another.

Valeigh: You holding me during those bed-less nights also had something to do with it.

Rico: You two set the prime example of what love is and should be from now on.

Athen: Now, Spyder and I have been walking for too long. Perhaps it's time to join Harlequin.

Spyder: I think so...*teardrop* but maybe first...

They all stood up and walked out of the hall. Spyder led them as they walked the stone steps of one tower, facing the east, and emerged at the top, overlooking the entire land. It was still night, a new moon, complete darkness filled the land. They looked down and heard the noise of a gate opening. Moments later, standing atop the windy structure, they saw the dim lights of the lanters the lightbearers now carried with them. Two by two, they walked out of the fortress, heading into the east, slowly, starting their journey all over again, the way it was meant to be. By the day's ending, they would make it back here, but their new Sellum would not be expecting them anymore, neither would Athen.

They would come home to Rico and Valeigh, nurturing Jenica with unconditional love. The lightbearers would witness this and integreate them into their daily lives before going out and retrace the steps of the the bright light that had been missing for so long from the land. The Ochkik Haddah was still present, but it was ignored. That radiance began to spread out as they walked out each night. Somehow, this was how it was. This was their dream so long ago, now true, and they could finally rest in peace.

Yeah, that's right, we all just leap off the LA ship like rats now that it's over....lol. This stands as the first rpg I was ever in, and the first I've ever been in that has actually ended, and not just died. Raven will be pleased, or I'll hear about it for a week.... And Liam missed it all.

I'm really upset that after the pain of it ending, I didn't get a part in it at all. So here is the final word from the creator of what should make Otaku History...

Spyder watched the departing people with tears streaming down her face. Once the moon had risen out of her view, she retreated inside to the body of her love. His body was no colder than it had been for the last month, and he was no less friendly to her than any other time they had lain together in rest. She closed her eyes and held his surprisingly light body close, imagining that nothing was different. That it was a year ago, and they were alive. There had been many shades of grey between life and death through the weeks past, and they had scaled most of them. Spyder had one to go.
Athen slipped silently to the doorway and watched her reach across the white skin of her only love and grasp the kris knife from his belt. She fought off tarnished, domestic memories of pure happiness and drenched herself with bitter tears as she brought it to her throat. Athen turned away, bracing himself for the cry of anguish that would come. But there was none. He turned back to see the black liquid seep across the stone floor, running blue, running purple, running red.

Atop the tower, Rico and Valiegh watched the blue lights of the world wink out momentarily. When they returned, the world was cast in a new light. The hundreds of lanterns streaming into the city cast a pale, yellow light on the ground. The night was illuminated purely once again.

Guest cloricus
Hmm over...
Well being the only one to be kicked from this rpg I'd just like to say thanks for the part I was in and how much you guys forced me to grow up after I was kicked, mainly Raven. I'd also like to complement to guys on my improved spelling and rpging...
Hopefully now this is over Raven will start acting like she used to and being nice to me. *Hopes* (That goes for Raiha to.)
Although I would have liked to come back in when I did that last post, I guess I wouldn't have done much you'd changed the story line so much.

Any way since this seems like a pointless post I'll end it...
Thank you.
