I read somewhere on the net that Skeith, the grey, humanoid boss with the red cross in .Hack//Infection, actually appeared in one of the latter episodes of .Hack//SIGN. Can anyone confirm this, and possibly provide a website with a screenshot from that episode? Thanks for any help.
Originally posted by Metatron The robot battles are also pretty impressive, but kinda falls below my taste... I preferred the more smooth, flexive motions of the Evas, but I still think Big O is a great series.
The only downside to Eva is that the movements are too human-like. Anything that big wrapped in armor (even if it is biological) should not be able to move that quickly or smoothly. Big O seems more realistic in that manner, if you can ignore the fact that the finger and some arm motions do not seem to fit the control movements.

Once more I am back. Personal difficulties stopped me from writing last week, so now I have a double review. First up... Bubblegum Crisis (eps. 1-6) All I can say to start with is that I am glad that Kenichi Sonoda did the character designs and the designs of their battle suits. I have been a fan of his after I started reading the Cannon God Exaxxion comic books. Now as for the description, here goes. This is another science fiction work involving mecha, but this time it is not limited to large mechs. In fact, large mechas are in the minority in this show, as most are designed to pose as humans. Set in the year 2032, and in an area called Tinsel City. The city is under constant attack by Boomers, humanoid robots often disguised as humans, and heavier models that look less human. Defending the city is a group of four female mercenaries, the Saber Knights, who possess Hard Suits, armored suits who's designs had been lost durning production. This is a good anime. The episodes are longer then normal (about 40 min.), and the sound effects do not always seem to properly coincide with the action. Other then that I really enjoyed watching this show. This is definately not for childern though, as it contains perversion, delimbing and total bodily destruction at the hands of a high-caliber machine gun. Up next... Bubblegum Crisis: Hurricane Live Not really an anime itself, Hurricane Live focuses on the music of the show. Viewers can choose from live action songs, recorded at actual concerts, or music videos created from various scenes from the anime itself. This is a must for anyone that enjoyed the music of the show as much as I did.

Hmm, that is true AzureWolf. I do not bother with Speed Charm/Ap Do. It is too much trouble and wastes the "money" in the game.

>>Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground.. I don't know if those are the exact key words, but it's a playing field...>> Actually it is called Delta-Hidden, Forbidden, Holy Ground. The Delta part tells you that it is on the Mac Anu server. The rest are just the three key words you put into the chaos gate. Note: Minor spoilers ahead. (I do not know how to creat the "Censor" tag for spoilers) Spoilers: In .Hack//Liminality there is a hidden option that has 10 secrets about the game listed. One of them states that Delta-Hidden, Forbidden, Holy Ground was actually built as a sever of its own, but was never put into use. That is why it is so different from the random fields.
Originally posted by ars_magicae if mutation is that easy ( I beat infection in three days ) then it will be no sweat for me i mean i think can beat it in one day and if i cant then two days is the tops. lol
I think that it will take more then one day for anyone. For me it took a total of about twenty hours (spread over two days), maybe more. The biggest problem is there are a lot of movies and they are not even close to short, though they do give you a lot of info. Also, the ending is great and holds a huge surprise that alters everything.

"Smith & Wesson, The Original Point-And-Click Interface." --Joke a friend sent me Out of the guns I have shot I would have to say that the jet-black Berretta 9mm is the best. Little kick and a lot of ammo. I have also shot off a .357 Revolver (do not know what type), a shotgun and an AR-15 (civilian version of M-16). The latter has a horrible sight on the barrel. Just a thought on the side, where did everyone learn how to handle a gun? I learned from my father and uncle, both of whom were in law enforcement.

I will say one thing about Mistral and Elk, neither of the them can hold a candle to Rachel. Never before have I had the urge to jump into the game and strangle a character, but Rachel changed that. Not only does her accent suck, but the attitide they gave here really bugs me. You give her something nice and if it is not a rare item she dismisses you completely. Oh well. Now that I have the "Affection" rating in Ryu Book V up to max I can forget her completely and continue working with Blackrose and Mistral (or Wiseman).

This is kind of a side note, but does anyone know if Big O is related to Cowboy Bebop? I have noticed a few things that lead me to wondering this. 1) The artwork is similar 2) Both have the "staring at the fan" scenes 3) I could have sworn I saw Hajime Yatate's name in the credits 4) Roger and Spkie have the same voice (though that may have more to do with who was chosen as the voice actor then the company)

Oh, I almost forgot. In Mutation you definately want to get your hands on Mimiru's Sword. The stats are not terribly impressive, but almost every hit counts as a Critical Hit and deals twice the damage.
-
Awesome. I cannot wait to get them now. I have heard that episode 27 is a recap from Mimiru's point of view and was only released as an attempt to sell more in Japan. Yay!!:D

I have to agree with you on the fact that (-) VGP in a pain. I nearly died the first time after being ambushed two seconds after gating in to it. As for Mistral being worse then Elk, no way. Yes Mistral is annoying, but so is Elk because of how scared he acts and how they always have to have Mia holding his hand. Anyway, wait until you get .Hack//Mutation and gain Wiseman as a friend. He is much better then both Mistral or Elk.
Originally posted by bignate dawg in the case of "su" being pronounced as either "sss"(like in Yusuke or Daisuke)or "soo"(i can't think of an example) has to do with the su being before a k, i think.
Actually, this is another point where the "U" changes things. In reality the "U" should be pronounced, but when spoken quickly the "U" occasionally just disappears. This is the case for many words ending in that letter. The best example I can give is "Desu" which is pronounced without the "oo" sound at the end.

>> Repth Core? What the hell? Haha, I was VERY direct when fighting Cubia. Anyway, yeah, the game really does know how to make things/enemies daunting, but Cubia's slim-pickin's. Don't let him intimidate you, and everything should be fine. Besides that, I'd rather not hold your hand and tell you what to do: 1. that's just spoiling things, and 2. guides are for sissies (except for that grunty raising).>> Sorry, got the wrong name online. It is actually called a "Repth Gorma." Cubia was too easy. In fact the whole game was. I beat it in two days. And anyway, guides are not for sissies. Only reading the full blurb in walkthroughs is. I use guides to see how far along I am and what type of cool **** I can get from the Gott Statues and the Ryu Books. Anything else can be learned along the way.

Here is the reason: When an "U" (pronounced "oo") is placed behind an "O" it extends the "O" sound to two beats. This also works with an "O" behind another "O" and an "I" behind an "E" sound. Basically, the syllable is longer then before. Sometimes this a shown with a line over the "O", which can be seen in the name Tokyo (which would be spelled Toukyou is not abreviated).

Yeah, Nuke is just creepy, and quite annoying. Personally I like the outfit that Marlo has. Very cool demonic look. As for BT's and Sora's hairstyles, yes they do look alike. Which is good because they deserve each other. ;)

There is a side quest in MUTATION where you actually meet A-20 and Mimiru. In the end you get "Mimiru's Sword" (weapon's actual name) which Blackrose can use. Also in Delta- Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground you can see four scenes from .Hack//SIGN, two include Mimiru. And one shows Sora PK'ing BT. :D (Note: The scenes can only be accessed one by one, and only when you complete certain points)

In .Hack//Liminalitily No.1 they show the game being played with a visor, as shown in the opening credits of .Hack//SIGN, and a Playstation style controller. My guess is that it can be played with a joystick too. As for a virtual reality game, it is not like that. It does leave some things unexplained, like how they move realistically when a keyboard would not be enough to do that, but such things are overcome by just ignoring those little details (and hoping they are explained later).

Anime (US/CAN) General thoughts and ratings for .hack//SIGN 19, "Recollection"

9/10 Finally, a chance to see how the Crimson Knights were formed. I just wish they were a little less vague on a few things, like how Subaru and Crim got permission to form them and why Crim decided to leave. A-chen (I think that is here name) was crazy, and why are Subaru copies like her only showing up now? The only good thing about her appearence was getting to see Subaru scared and unsure, as opposed to completely in control and usual. Plus, for once a character came out of a fight with "battle damage" instead of the regular perfect clothing and indestructible haircut. The scene at the vary end with the real world Subaru was a nice touch too. It added a lot to the story. -
I just got the game today and all i can say is: "Oh my god, Carmina Gatelica has the most amazing scenery!" I hated fighting Innus (which is as far as I have gotten). Not only is the character ugly, but Mistral (who must be on the team) is useless in the fight (save healing everyone). Now I am worried about fighting Cubia. Does anyone have any tips? I already know about the Repth Core, but that is it.

Yeah, "Obession" is a great song. I was glad that .Hack//Infection's DVD (Liminality series No. 1) had the opening scene/song without the credits. And, Sophic, the song is called "Fake Wings." Just thought you should know. Oh, and a side note. I have heard that the .Hack//SIGN DVD has the option to turn off all sound other then the music.
-
Personally I enjoy listening to the song "Obsession" from .Hack//SIGN. I was greatly pleased when the .Hack//Liminality DVD had the opening theme, sans credits. :D

Yeah!!! Go old school anime! The older stuff they show on Adult Swim and Toonami is awesome. I like the way they had 001 messing with 009's mind after he broke out. Leading him into the enemy was truely evil.

I cannot think of a cheap death, but I can think of a cheap near-death. On one of the cheat code sites I go to they mentioned (-) Voluptuous Geothermal Paradise (note: that is "Theta" at the begining, meaning the Dun Loreag server) as a place to find the Hell-Hounds and Mu Guardians. I warped there with Blackrose and Minstral and was immediately ambushed by three Hell-Hounds and two Dark Riders. Needless to say we were out-classed and Mistral went down. To keep from dying I ran and healed. Blackrose died and the enemies went after me. I got far enough away to revive Mistral and place sleep on one enemy. To make a short story long, it was basically a game of run and beat up whoever got close. My team survived though and got big points.
